Delicious food, with good service at reasonable prices. Made 4pm reservation for 4 on a Monday about 1pm. Arrived about 10 mins early & was seated immediately. I assume it depends on the day & time. Of course the busier an establishment may come with not the same level of service as if the server is rushing or have a lot of guests that need their attention. Absolutely no other restaurant can touch their crab cakes. Hands down, in my estimation, they are the best ever. Pappas has so many great entrees. Also the best grilled salmon I have ever had. One night they had liver and onions as a special. I carried it out from their side window. It was terrific. You can't get a bad meal.

Very good crab cakes. Theirs are among the very best. The cakes have a little bit more spice (maybe Old Bay) than some I have had. But they are straight forward crab cakes with lots of lump crab meat. That makes a good crab cake for me. The bar is a good place to watch sports and the beer selection is modest but good.

From the outside this place looks like a hole in the wall joint. But inside is a much nicer and classier local, if only a little small. They advertise having won multiple awards for their crab cakes, which you can also see all over the restaurant entrance. Having tasted their crab cakes, I can say they are very good. However, my only complaint is that everything was rather pricey. And I'm not sure that I would agree that it's 3x the price worth it either.

Crab cake had nice big chunks of crab meat. Inside is very cramped, tables very close together. Waiter was moving too fast, didn't give info on specials or anything. Not a good experience and we will not be going back. 2 stars is because of the crab lump meat chunks

Would not know what food was like because a racist hostess at desk would not alow us in the dinning area because she believed my shirt was a tank top but it wasn't, it was just a shirt with no sleeves. Anyway I wonder if the owner know that her ignorance cost them a $200 ticket that night that we spent at Mo's where we were welcomed.

Once upon a time, Baltimore was justifiably famous for their crabcakes. Sadly, the legend has outlived reality. Luckily, Pappas endures. There are only a handful of places in Baltimore, and the surrounding counties that remain committed to the original principles that made crabcakes synonymous with Baltimore. Pappas is perhaps the best example of these legacy seafood houses. The only filler that is acceptable in a true crabcakes is lump blue crab. Put another way, crabcakes don't have filler, they only have crabmeat and a minimum amount of binder. If you make them and your pile of finished ingredients is larger than the original pile of lump crabmeat, you've done it wrong. It is this commitment to orthodoxy that makes me willing to drive for nearly 30 miles past innumerable joints offering an adulterated version of the classic if I want someone else to cook crabcakes for me. Theirs are not perfect. At eight ounces, they are nearly 50% larger than the quintessential version. That makes them too big to be effectively pan fried, so Pappas serves theirs broiled like nearly everyone else. Successful blasphemy eventually becomes orthodoxy, but that doesn't make it an improvement. I can't figure out how people can afford to eat crabcakes often enough to make cooking them properly a significant health risk. But ordering them broiled is a great way to signal how health conscious one is, so that's how they are most often prepared now. I can't tell you about the other featured items on the menu. I have never been able to to convince myself to forego the star attraction. Judging from the quality of their signature dish, I think you would be safe ordering anything else but why would you?

Everyone has opinions in “Best Crabcake” in Baltimore. Pappas happens to be my favorite. I have had all of them on the annual “best of” lists and sometimes it is very close. The Parkville location has the charm of a typical local Baltimore bar with the usual suspect regulars (I enjoy eating crab cakes in the bar). I only gave four starts because sometimes the service is a bit off. With patience though it is worth the wait.

One of our people has celiac and spent time with waiter who very patiently went over gluten free options and what was safe to eat. She had a delicious meal and no problems afterwards! That's worth its weight in gold!! They make these potato cup things I forget what it's called - a jack knife potato - and they are delicious!!! Had leftovers to go!

Pappas was a knock out hit all around!! I held a small dinner retirement party for my mother in early June. The service was outstanding!! Our dedicated server was Daniel Burgess and he went above and beyond to cater to my guests needs. He was patient and always available. He was right on time with requests and accommodated in a timely manner, always with a smile and a generous and helpful attitude. He is truly an asset to the service team at Pappas. The food was delicious!! The appetizers were readily available and again delicious. Pappas really delivered in helping making this party event a grand success. Great food, great service!!! I cannot thank you enough for the awesome food and service you provided!! 5 Stars!!

I was very disappointed in both quality of food and service. For lunch, I ordered fish and chips. The fish and fries were overdone and supremely dry. The coleslaw was incredibly mushy and not cold! We were 1 hr, 40 minutes from walk in to walk out. They were busy but should have been better prepared for the lunch shift. Guess I should have ordered the crabcake.

We got the two 8oz crab cake meal and they had the largest lumps I've crab I've seen in forever. Competitively priced (they had actually used white out on the menu to mark the price DOWN) with prompt friendly and frequent service by several servers even as the restaurant began to get busy during the dinner hour. The seating area is a little tight with the other tables and the packaged bread was disappointing but the crab dip appetizer we chose made up for it. Definitely would come back.

Now it was Fathers day when we went but that doesn't excuse how my waiter service was not good . 1st when we got there both of my parents are somewhat disabled they had a table for us all the way upstairs in the back when we sat our waiter didn't offer us a wine menu we didn't get any hot bread like everyone else did and he never came to our table to see if we wanted any refills or anything extras nothing til the check was placed on the table with his ridiculous automatic $40.00 tip because it was a party of 6 and at 18 % . He didn't deserve $4.00 more less then $40 but because I had took my dad out and he wanted to go there I didn't make a fuss about it .

The food was bland. The ranch dressing came in 2 different textures. 1 runny and the other thick. The dressing that came with the wings was runny, the one that came with the side salad was thick. Parts of the entrees were warm while the other room temperature. Nothing came out hot as if it just came off the stove or out the oven. The beer was flat and the mix drink were full of ice with little alcohol. We had a party of 12 they would not seat us without the whole party being there. We informed them that it was a surprise party and that the other half of the party was riding together. We still could not be seated. After being seated it took 15 mins to have our drink order taken. Once it was finally taken it took another 30+ mins to get the drinks. The waiting staff that help setup the tables were extremely rude. Definitely will not be returning to this restaurant nor would I recommend it to anyone. 10 thumbs down.

Ordered $78 worth of carryout. Things that were impressive, the tastiness of the food. We were referred here for the crab cakes and they were delicious. Can't say they were unique in anyway, standard Baltimore crab cake (no filling, all lump) - no signature to make it their own. Pasta dish was nothing to write home about for a dish that cost $24. One slice of garlic bread was disappointing. An extra 50cent for an extra side of ranch salad dressing made me laugh out loud. They have signs on the carryout window that say, "all orders must be checked here" - I'm glad I saw this. I only had one of the two bowels of cream of crab soup I ordered. Overall food was good. Not terribly impressed.

With our adult children in town, we decided to try Pappa's, at the suggestion of one of our sons who lives here in the area as we do. I made reservations for the 7 of us and the person on the phone was pleasant. Someone pleasantly called the next day to confirm the reservation. When we arrived, the foyer was pretty full, but when I told the lady at the hostess desk that we had reservations and our name, she asked if upstairs was okay. It was! She led us up immediately to a tastefully appointed room, to a round table with a white tablecloth and cloth napkins, where it was peaceful and spacious. There were others seated in this upstairs room already, but we were never in danger of bumping into one another, even when getting up to use the restroom (and yes, there was one on the same floor we were on). Additionally, since we lost a son several years ago (although they didn't know it of course), I really appreciated that they seated us at a round table prepared ahead for us with 7 chairs and 7 place settings. That kind of thing hopefully doesn't apply to many, but I think many people might appreciate the welcome and attention to detail of arriving to the right number of chairs and all the silverware sets. The waitress was kind and all the other servers were great too. And, what's most important to many of you to know: the food was delicious!

8pm 6/19/19 wendsday.. Not the usual hard to get a table crowd...african American male alone...the waiter appeared 15min later...i had to get the attention of a guy cleaning the table for a drnk for starters...i delayed the main course until after having a drink when the waiter finally appered...i had to stop him passing by to get his attention, I ordered the ribs platter..the waiter never check or followed up after being served..i did not eceive the full platter. The manager on duty after being requested was another story A co-worker suggested when you r dissatisfied with the restaurant service leave 2 Brown pennies for the service you receive The server will get the message The ribs where good and hot .

I made reservations for 14 people at 6:00. 12 of the 14 people showed up at 6pm. Pappas Restaurant refused to sit our party because company policy says they only sit parties if everyone is there. They frowned upon us and were very rude however the two people that were late has two young children that they had to attend to. It was explained to the manager that they were running late and they still refused to sit us so we left and went to another restaurant that was more accommodating.

Excellent food! I got the steak and crab imperial on top, my wife got the crab cake. The food was out of this world. Now to the negative, we didn't have a reservation and ate in the bar area. The bar was half full with 3 people tending. We sat down and where greeted by who we though was our waitress. She took our drink order and came back with the drinks we placed an appetizer order when she brought our drinks. 5 min later she came for our order. We never got our appetizer, the food took 45 min to come out. We would have asked where the appetizer was but she never came back once, empty drinks and never offered another one or refills. When out food did come out she dropped it and walked away. Another 25 min and she came back with the check. We waited nearly 10 min before I walked to the bar to pay, she had an attitude like I was bothering her. This young lady nearly cost Pappas a customer. I hope they fix this issue.

Came to Pappas for lunch with my daughter. Alfredo Fettuccine is one of our favorite pasta dishes. She ordered plain alfredo fettuccine with no meat. However, her food had no flavor and had a weird taste. I tasted it as well and agreed it didn't taste right. I asked could they switch out the plain alfredo for an order of mozzarella sticks. The manager came over and said she would not take off the pasta and the mozarella sticks would be an extra charge. I explained the mozarella sticks were because the pasta didn't taste right and she did not want it. The manager Jeanie was rude and had horrible customer service. I have NEVER had a manager act the way she did. I won't be patronizing this location again. If the manager is rude and not accommodating , they don't deserve my business. As a business owner myself, I know the value of good customer service. Jeannie needs to learn good customer service and I will be sure to share this information on all of my platforms since she assured me that she didn't care.

Rather you want the Sports Bar Atmosphere with a pool table, flat screens showing all the sports, hightop tables, & a bar or you prefer the Lounge Atmosphere with dim lights, elegant dining room area, with cushioned comfortable bar stools and chairs they have a room that will accommodate either taste! They also serve one of the greatest and most DELICIOUS crabcakes in Maryland along with an amazing menu so you can't go wrong. Then to top it off Pappas has an awesome staff who excel in customer service and the Manager, Brian Falter, is wonderful!

You might be able to name a place on par with Pappas, but you won't be able to name one better. What an amazing seafood menu. The crab cake is famous and justifiably so. A MUST VISIT FOR CRABCAKE & STUFFED SHRIMP!

One of the best crabcakes in town! Excellent service. Everyone in my party enjoyed their food. They offer a wide array of food choices, not just seafood. They offer steak, pasta, burgers and sandwiches. If you have people in from out of town that want to try a crabcake, this would be a top spot to take them.

Great Crab Cakes. Stopped in to get crab cakes to go at the carry out store on Mother's Day. Very good service and prices were ok for the Colossal size cakes. Also many other options to choose from.

We gave been dining here since 1990. Enjoy the crab cakes and shrimp salad. Sides are so so. Could be a larger amount served. Used to have pickles with the cucumbers and loved to snack on that. It would be nice if they remodeled. People are too close especially when seated on the wall seats. People hear and some join in your conversation. That is why we like to sit by the entrance. But despite all that. Keep it up Pappas
