Food and service are excellent. They have a huge assortment of different Indian breads.. not just different flavors of Naan but also Paratha, Puri (my favorite), Chapatti, and Roti. It's a family run restaurant now--owner's brother and son are waiters, uncle is chef.

Ordered a fish curry for carry-out and the person taking my phone order stated that it's salmon (and I wanted it to be salmon). It turned out to be some kind of battered white fish. Called the restaurant and another person answered and insisted that it was salmon in my entree. It does not look like the salmon I get in the store. It looks more like frozen fish patties.

Been many times and the food has been good. Seafood options have been tasty. The buffet is hit or miss....it can be really great or just ok. Never been disappointed off the menu ordering. They will do tray size orders for the holidays and it is always a hit. A little spice for the holidays.

I had come for a mango lassi and lamb samosa to go when I engaged in conversation with the then new owner while waiting. I questioned a few items on the menu since I was unfamiliar with them. He suggested I try the honey chicken. I told him next time I would. When I got home he had given me a sample in my order. It was delicious. Very friendly staff, very good food!

I had a great experience last night at OM. The manager gave us an outstanding service and was very friendly. We had two big platters and different naans, so we got to try at least 10 flavors which were all delicious. Having been to a lot of Indian restaurants, this was tasty, high quality, and I honestly don't understand the recent negative reviews, which made me wonder if they went to the same place. Prices were very reasonable and portions were right. I'll definitely come back in my next visit to the state.

Very tasty food. The owner was very welcoming and the food came pretty fast. The only concern I have is that certain foods don't taste authentic. I know it is difficult to cook authenitc Indian food with limited supplies in USA but still, the chicken vindaloo tasted different and the naan we're pretty hard. Otherwise they all tasted very good :)

Just awesome. After the name and management change, its a complete 180 turn. They dont have buffet, but dont let that fool you. Their pick 3 option is cheaper($9) comes with naan and rice too. and quality 5 star. Even the quantity is good. We came hungry and still had to box pack a full box. The food is really tasty, even better than the bland and horrible buffet at spice xing in rockville. Will definitely go again with family and office colleagues. Great addition near work place.

This is by a wide margin the best Indian cuisine in the Rockville area, We have been to India several times and can attest to the authenticity of the dishes served here. It is a well-balanced mix of dishes from across the spectrum of the diverse culture of India. Luis and his crew are attentive, welcoming and provide first rate service at bargain prices.

I would like to thank Louis (I think he is the restaurant owner) for the delicious food, for being very courteous and patient as we hesitated on the choice of dishes, for his excellent advice and for some side dishes which he offered for free to welcome us to his restaurant. What a breath of fresh air to deal with someone who understands the restaurant business very well and for whom the customer satisfaction is a paramount objective. The chicken tikka masala, the lamb and other dishes were just perfect - freshly made, very well seasoned and so tasty! We are very happy that we discovered this authentic Indian gem in our neighborhood. Thank you Louis for our fantastic culinary experience. This place must close down. This was the worst dining experience of my life. The owner and his staff are the rudest people I had ever encountered. The waiter was rude and had no clue what he is doing. The owner was much worst. He came to our table and after I explained different issues with our waiter, he started bragging that he has been in this business for over 30 years and is the most successful restaurant owner!! No apologies, no listening, nothing... WOW. Food was tasteless, and meat quality was horrible. Save your time and money, and visit any other one of the many excellent restaurants in the area.

Service was poor. The server / owner was very lethargic while serving us. The food was alright. We had the chaat which was pretyyy good. The biryani was abysmal. The rice and meat in biryani is supposed to be cooked together, however the food we got was more of a mixed pulav kinda biryani. Chicken was over cooked and dry. The naan wasn’t very appetizing either. Overall, I wouldn’t go back.

The food was very bad I ordered chicken biryani. They gave me rice mixed with lamb and chicken. It doesn’t taste like children biryani at all. They also added a transaction fee to my bill which is something I have not heard of. They could not explained why there is a transaction fee. I will not come back again to this restaurant and if you like Indian food do not come to this place.

They add tips w/o u authorizing it! Stay away from this place! They cheat and I caught them! Make sure u go bck and check ur bank statement that's so crazy! Chicken Briyani tastes nothing close to Briyani @ all. It look like they warmed some left overs and served it. Portion size and price is way off as well! Horrible experience!

The staff are very nice and the ambianceis great. Unfortunately the chicken curry and veggie samosa and food items I had just were not very good. The rice portion was small but they did give me extra for free, but the rice was plain and not spiced or seasoned at all which is kind of sub par for Indian food in my experience. It is very standard so it is fair and standard for the price. But that's it. Not terribly special, but not a bad deal. Will do in a pinch for sure. If they up their seasoning and food game for tastier food next time I give them a try, I will gladly increase this rating!

My friends and I have started going to this place fairly regularly. The menu is excellent but I'm addicted to the butter chicken and chicken tikka masala and really order little else when I go. It's a cozy spot with great service. What's fascinating to me is that despite a new and thriving city center, the corner of this strip mall is rocking on a weekend. (Odd as it may sound, the restaurants here are almost certainly superior to RTC -- or maybe that doesn't sound unusual in this day and age.) Five stars. Outstanding dining experience!

Not even a single star. These people should try eating Biryani and Chicken items in other Indian restaurants and should know how these items taste like. Biryani, when opened the box, it looked like the Rice, Chicken and other ingredients were just thrown into a bucket, and the taste was so so bad that even a super normal home made tomatoe rice will taste so great and will feel a complete satisfaction. Next, Chicken with gravy, box full of big pieces of onions and other ingredients, not sure whehter these people know the actaul receipe and to how to cook these dishes. Taste is the core component of any restaurent business. So concentrate on the tastes of various dishes that your are serving.

I happened to get hungry but this week, so I decided to look for something eat after leaving a Real Estate Office. After being tired of the normal Latin, or Asian cuisine, I wanted something different, so Insettled on Indian cuisine at OM Fine Indian Cusine, and all I can say is “OH MY GOD!!!!” The food was phenominal, and to make things worst, there was so much food I couldn’t eat it all. So I had fine Indian Cusine for Breakfast as well. I happened to go prior to he start of rush hour so I had received service from staff that was beyond my belief. Before I left, I was fortunate enough to meet the owner Louis, and Immediately expressed the details of my joyful experience is it’s his staff, and the flavorful dishes that required a doggy bag. That visit was on this past Tuesday, and Friday night, my tastebuds led away from the normal choices to eat out, and led me back to my new favorite restaurant. Although I tried to order less since I was alone on this occasion, I still left clutching a doggy bag. UNBELIEVABLE! I only leave reviews when I’m blown away by the food, or service of places I dine, but this time I had to share my experience with the world. I can guarantee you that your experience at OM will surely have you returning, and also sharing with friends.

OM is a very nice little place located in Rockville, Md. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and eventhough the place was almost full, service didn't suffer during the whole night. We had various dishes and appetizers and all were really good. Papadam with mint chutney and also the tamarind sauce was excellent. Lentil soup was very hot and delicious. From the main menu our waiter recommended we try the Lamb Korma which was succulent and their spice level was on point. A very creamy flavor without being heavy. Chicken tikka masala and butter chicken were so good, Tender and packed with flavor. Also the mix tandoori platter was delicious. (It was a lot of food). I believe that some of this dishes are meant to be shared. Everything comes with a delicious white rice and you should also order Nan. It's so good to deep into all the sauces. Overall a great restaurant with really good service. The place itself is very unpretentious and casual yet very comfortable.

OM is a small locally owned Indian restaurant the features a wide variety of Indian Cuisine. But, don't let small size fool you, this place is WONDERFUL. I was so pleased with everything. Authenticity and attention to detail, coupled with impeccable service and food is the name if the game in the place. From the fresh made Chai tea , delightful appetizers, and simply amazing entrees that that take you on a culinary jounery to a far off place. Although it was very busy when we went there (Saturday, 8pm), the food was worth the wait. I've been here several times before, and each time the food is presented nicely, it is hot, and is wonderfully spiced and balanced. The wait staff is attentive but not in the way.The owner is active in greeting tables, checking on needs, refilling water, and making sure your visit is lovely. It is obvious how much he cares. There is a nice variety of dishes, and I have been very happy with all of them quality-wise. I highly recommend Om.

Great service, tasty food and a clean place. What more can you ask for. We went there twice, once for dinner and once for lunch. They have a good selection of breads, vegetarian dishes on their menu. Their tandoori roti was excellent - order one at a time so you get them hot and fresh. So far we have tried Chana masala, dal tadka and raita. All were excellent ! We will probably go there again !

Very poor quality food. My wife & I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala... which we had to send back due to the high level of fat in the dish. The manager admitted they used thigh meat; in other words, they’re charging customers for premium chicken breast but not delivering. Just as bad, in both dishes they didn’t use grilled tandoori chicken (no yogurt coating, so the meat was dry) & the Masala had only a single spice. Lots of onion and almost no green pepper. The naan was so dry it was brittle. Had to update my review b/c I’ve spent the last couple hours with the runs in the bathroom, shortly after my first posting. Haven’t experienced anything like that since college! It’s obvious that previous positive reviews were written by people who have no concept of good Indian food or decent food on any level for that matter. Beware this poorly run establishment.

The ambiance is ok. However, food quality is poor. We have eaten chicken korma at several places and this one was worst quality. Chicken was too dry, hard and equally smelly. We could just eat 20% of it. So, on a friendly note I had a word with the owner to just let him know about it. He was not willing to accept it and told us that at this time he can not do much. Will not visit again.

Surprise Surprise - a new management and excellent results! Everything I had was tasty and hot; Service - quick and very polite. I was very satisfied. My wife enjoyed the experience too. But she would give "only" four stars. She also usually does not care enough for Indian food. So, four stars from her for Indian food is a very good sign of a very good food! I started with Mulligatawney Soup - A traditional hearty soup, rich, with subtle tastes, prepared with tiny chicken pieces which added but did not dominate the taste. The taste, in order of significance, was a mixture of spices, chicken, and chickpea flour, and it was delicious! As an appetizer, my wife had two pieces of Vegetable Somosa - a pastry stuffed with spiced potatoes and peas; I had one piece. Once more, a surprising joy to the palate. For the entree I had Baigan Bharth a, tandoori roasted eggplant, cooked with Indian spices, tomatoes and onions. It came as if the eggplant was ground tightly together with the other vegetables and spices. Combined with rice that came on a separate plate, it was Yummy. The eggplant was there but did not dominate the taste. Again, it was the balanced combination of tastes that made it so delicious. I tasted my wife's Tandoori Shrimp, which came on a bed of slightly spiced onions and peppers and I loved it. For desert we shared the sweet Gulab Jamun which I liked a lot. The Masala tea went perfectly with the Jamun. I will come again!

So this Indian restaurant is in a little strip mall and I never thought much about going there. I saw it had some good reviews so my wife and my brother decided to go for dinner. It was very nice and clean inside and we were sat immediately on a Saturday night. We were immediately given water, but no one ever asked if we wanted something else to drink. The staff was attentive, I'm sure if we wanted a soda or wine or something, we could have asked; it was just peculiar knowing how much restaurants profit from beverages that they didn't ask if we wanted something. We decided to order three dishes and share them since there were three of us. The Tandoor Platter was $18.95 and it was a combination of lamb, chicken, and shrimp all cooked in the tandoor oven. It was delicious and plenty to eat when sharing. Probably too much to eat for a single person eating. I liked it especially because the chicken was boneless. We also had the Butter Chicken for $13.95. The bowls they serve in look small, but there is plenty in there. This was just what I expected and completely delicious. If I had been alone with this dish and some rice to soak up all the sauce, I would have been in heaven. Third was the Baigan Bhartha, which is tandoori roasted eggplant with tomatoes and onions. Delicious. It is served almost like a paste since the ingredients are roasted and mashed together. We also had an order of the puri bread ($3.45) which was two puffy portions fresh out of the fryer. The meal came with white rice as well and was just delicious. Three plates for three people was just perfect and sharing allowed everyone to enjoy them. I now see why they got high reviews, it was really excellent.

Food seemed to be reheated (vegetable curry) and the tandoori chicken dry. Flavors were mediocre. You get a better curry from Pataks paste in a jar. Weird experiece: a disheveled man entered and spoke to the owner who then instructed him to chisel away and sweep mastic along the patio doors where the carpeting was pulled away. He was doing that the entire time we were there. I also saw the female server carry clean water glasses by putting her fingers INSIDE the glasses! The owner then used a towel to wipe them and placed them on a shelf.

Good food and service! Only problem is they charge $3.50 for the pickles (achar) that a desi needs to make the food proper desi spice. No one should charge for achar. It’s in the Indian restaurant owner manual.

The food was great and the dessert was to die for. All made in-house, reasonably priced. The owner was very generous and accommodating.

We love this restaurant. It's a great place to take family and friends who enjoy Indian cusine. The Butter Chicken is magnificent and the Shrimp Tikka Masala was scrumptious. The service is attentive and genuine. I recommend Om wholeheartedly.
