Buffet selections are not extensive, but it covers the basics and the food is usually fresh and tasty. Would like a few more vegetable centric options. Service staff is excellent.

Ordered off the menu hoping to get something cooked fresh since I don't do buffets. The chicken lo mein appeared fresh and was okay but salty. The fried rice and egg roll served with the dinner special had either been sitting on the buffet all day and got reserved or made in large batches and rewarmed as ordered. Cooking food to order would make a huge difference. Prices were cheap so 3 stars.

Oga's has the best sushi in St. Mary's County. The salmon melts in your mouth, the octopus is fabulously flavorful without being chewy, all the fish tastes incredibly fresh. I frequently ate sushi in Japan and Oga's is the closest I've had in America to the real thing. The staff is courteous and efficient. The atmosphere and location are perfect for a date night followed by a relaxing walk down to Leonardtown Wharf.

The food is tasteless and overpriced. We hadn't been to Oga's in years because our last experience there was bad. There's an older lady that works or runs the place and she was really rude when I asked her about the bean curd. There is a big difference between tofu and what most Chinese restaurants call "bean curd" (which is fried and has a chewy delicious texture). She rudely asserted that it was the same thing and they brought me out a dish of lukewarm tofu, cooked with frozen peas and those little square diced frozen carrots. It was awful! I could've made the dish at home for under $2. And as I ate it the old witch shot me dirty looks the whole time. Today we decided to give Oga's another chance based on the reviews on this page. I don't know whether the people who posted the good reviews just don't know what good Asian food is, or if they are lying. I thinks it's the former...at least I hope so. Today the food was so tasteless we had to add tons of salt and soy sauce (something I rarely do). The Hunan Shrimp got it's heat solely from red pepper flakes (a sure sign of a bad chef). The whole dish, esp. the sauce should be spicy. Instead the only spice I got was when the pepper flakes got stuck in my throat. Their sushi is a joke. Real sushi rice is short-grain and seasoned with rice wine vinegar and sugar. It's so good you can eat it by the bowlful. A real Japanese sushi chef would never use the tasteless, long-grain rice that Oga's uses. Yes, they have some interesting flavors in their sushi rolls but I like the spicy dragon rolls from the grocery store (McKay's) better and the price is better too. My mother is Japanese and I've eaten sushi and Chinese food from all over the world, most notably in Tokyo and Kyoto. Oga's is probably the worst Asian food I've ever eaten any where.

Stay away from the bean curd (tofu) entrees. They don't know how to prepare tofu. I ordered the Grandma's bean curd. The tofu hadn't been pressed or marinated -- they gave me a block of raw tofu chopped up in big chunks, covered in some brown sauce with a small handful of peas thrown in -- and no other veggies. It was so bland and mushy, I could barely choke down two pieces before I had to give up. For bean curd/tofu done right, go to Happy Dragon where it's flavorful with a nice, chewy texture and accompanied by an assortment of veggies.

Small batches and quick turnover makes a fresh, affordable, delicious little lunch buffet. I bring my friends all the time. Try their crabmeat fried wantons and California style sushi buffet. Evening dining is much more pricey than lunchtime. Always attentive service.

I didn't have much faith about the sushi coming in here, since it's a Japanese-Chinese combined place. I've never had good experience with sushi in Chinese restaurants. But I was wrong. Both the sashimi and sushi were fresh and delicious. Miso soup has lots of seaweed and tofu, most restaurants offer miso soup with mostly broth and few slices of seaweed. The boba tea also has strong tea flavor which I couldn't find anywhere else. It's hard to find good boba tea in this area. I haven't tried Chinese food here, but everything I ordered was absolutely amazing, with a very reasonable price too. It's my first time but I definitely will come back.

Terrible experience. Service was a joke. Don't waste your $ or time. Ordered from lunch menu rather than buffet hoping the food would be fresher. Wow was I wrong. General Tsoas chicken was cold but the sauce was warm. Fried rice had frozen pees and cubed carrots. It was all Luke warm I had to ask for the crackers and sweet and sour sauce. I believe they had pre done the chicken and just warmed sauce up and poured over. I ate half. When I told the lady who runs the place she just looked at me and walked away. I will never return. Don't waste your time or money. Go somewhere that deserves your business. The Hong Kong restaurant in Lexington park is much better,as everything is fresh and you watch as they cook

The buffet is poorly stocked and is often cold. The service used to be extra friendly and efficient. Now its just efficient. The sushi used to be really good. Now its kinda good. Peter used to run it so much better. It's not gross but I won't be back unless I hear from someone I trust that things are better

Oga's food is delicious and the service top notch. it's easy to criticize on the internet, did any one of you take your problems up with a manager or owner? If not how are they supposed to know you were an unsatisfied customer? Have never once had a bad experience. Great sushi and Asian cuisine.

We did a carry out order via online. I was really shocked to find that they charge a $1.25 "convenience fee" if you order online. Whose "convenience" is it? It might have been tolerable if the order had been accurate. Who has heard of a Japanese restaurant that doesn't include rice? Even when it is on the menu? Nope, no rice with sweet and sour chicken. Yuck. The chicken had apparently been sitting around for a while since the breading was so hard you couldn't put a fork in it. It just continues when the noodles for the soup were clearly stale. On the only real good side, the ribs were ok but not up to par with the places that specializes in ribs. When I arrived to pick up the order, there were three people standing in line to get seated. They finally just seated themselves and eventually someone came out to help them. When asked about the convenience fee they said it had to do with "getting points". What? Was it a total rip off? You better believe it. Do I recommend it? Only if you like to get cheated and be served stale food.
