Outstanding place to eat, drink, and watch some good ESPN!

Beer draft list was out of date by a week. Waiter forgot to take my order- had to ask him to take it. Spinach and crab dip was awful- no discernible crab, cheese on top was too hard to dip, and the spinach was just green mush. Chicken was undercooked. Went during a slow time and our waiter only had 1 other table. I’m guessing it is poorly managed. Nice huge screen TV for sports watching.

I wanted to like this place. The decor is awesome, and it looks like a top notch sports bar. The service is terrible. The food is hit and miss. I went twice. The first time I got a to go order from the bar. The bartender stopped taking my order, mid order, and left. I asked for a recommendation and the guy really had no idea what was on the menu. He gave no suggestion and left. Someone else had to take my order. The food was hit and miss. The appetizer was good, but the crabcake was terrible. The second time was better, but service still had some issues. The appetizers were better than the last time, but the main courses (burgers, chicken tenders, pub grub) were nothing to write home about. I would say, the first thing that needs to be fixed is the service. The food just needs some minor tweaks. The burgers are bland. Shell bits should not be mixed in the crab meat for a crabcake (it was a lot).

Went mid afternoon, took 20 minutes for a server. Almost 30 minutes to get our drinks.... took our order then came back 30 minutes later and told us our order disappeared from the computer. (Translated, I forgot to enter your order.) There are lots of Restaurant choices close by. Consider this in your decision.

Distributor and/or manager should be let go. They had a very poor beer selection compared to other “sports bars,” they were out of several beers, and completely out of IPAs. Someone next to me asked for a Malbec which they were also out of (understand its a sports bar not a wine bar but still, further makes my point about poor inventory management). Never been to a “sports bar” with such limited selection and being out of so much...staff was very friendly though

Staff was very accommodating with our party that grew from four to seven BUT it all went down hill once seated. Our order was not complete, for ex. We received chicken tenders last! If you're a fan of boxing or UFC do not visit National Past time!!! "We are a family friendly sports bar"... No establishment at the National Harbor had the UFC 237 fight from Gaylord to MGM.

We were told the wait was 1 to 1.5 hours. It was almost 2 hours. Then the only reason we got seated was we kept bugging them as they sat those who came after us before us. Once we were seated we noticed there were many empty tables. Then we waited 20 minutes before anyone asked us what we wanted to drink. The burgers were overpriced for the quality, and the Waffle fries at Chick Fil A are better. We'll order from somewhere else ftom now on.

Stayed 2 days at the Gaylord and tried dining here twice. First time went for desert and drinks. Over an hour seating wait. Managed to find seats at the bar and received medicore service. Russian Mule tasty. No desirable deserts. Second time tried to dine here for lunch. Again, long wait. Finally seated and waited long time for server to come to table. Watched other parties seated and served and still not received service. Server eventually signaled from afar she will be right over. Waited and still no server. So, we exit without service. Two stars for the tasty mule. Would not suggest dining here. Would suggest implementing the waitlist app and more staff or training.

Very poor service for such a nice place... only 1 of the 7 bartenders new what they were doing.. Only 1 bar open for the whole weekend.. They new it was going to be a busy weekend because of the cheer competition. Half the tables at National past times restaurant were empty and needed to be bussed and cleaned. Minimum wait was 2 hours all day. The bar was a mess!! So dirty and nasty. Used glasses and rags sitting everywhere... bus help just standing around, no help... very disappointing.

Tried to sit down to have a drink. Sat for 15 minutes or so with the people who were there before mes trash and leftovers on the bar. Didnt even acknowledge me sitting down. I would understand if the bar was busy but it wasn't. Wont be returning.

Was there the Thursday night before a major convention and had an AWFUL experience. We were sat for twenty minutes with no service before we had to specifically go to the bar and request service. The waitress took our drink orders and then brought us all waters instead of what we wanted. Then, it took an hour for our food to get there, and it wasn't even what I ordered. Bartender was also incredibly rude. AVOID THIS PLACE.

I got the salmon andashed potatoes. The salmon was long but skinny. It was great. I had some lemon slices so I was able to squeeze some lemon juice on the salmon. The mashed potatoes were the best I've ever tasted. The restaurant is overpriced but service and food was great.

If it was possible to give them a negative rating I would! We went there for our Holiday lunch. Of the 8 of us 3 had to return their entrees -crab cakes served cold and chicken too tough to eat. Did the manager come out to ask what was wrong or offer an apology-NO. We then kept waiting for the waitress to come to our table to ask if we wanted anything else- after waiting for 20-25 minutes one of our group had to find her and again instead of being apologetic she has the gall to say she had other tables to wait on and would ask the manager to come over. Of course he had no explanation for our horrible experience and then to top it off when we got the bill they charged us for all the returned items and then the final insult- an 18% gratuity for the non existent service! SO DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY TO BY GOING HERE.

Have eaten here in the past but after this time we will not be going back. Took us 2 hours to be seated when there were open tables the entire time. Then it took another 15 before being asked about drinks. The wait time for the food was reasonable, but the quality was terrible. The waffle fries are better at chick Fil a and I've had better frozen hamburgers from the grocery store. Next time we will stick with ordering in from Roma pizza.

Service was slow and inefficient (we had to get server's attention to get water and soda refills and he never cleaned our table to allow more room to eat), he even forgot to put our appetizer order in (he told us) so after waiting 50 minutes, our dinner comes out. Food quality was not worth the wait or the prices paid. Will not return. I had higher expectations for a Gaylord Hotel restaurant.

This place has a cool atmosphere. Definitely a good place to watch sports. As always I am looking for Vegab options. They had one which was the Impossible Burger. It was okay. May have been better if it had vegan cheese. I didn't like the after taste of the burger. The service was nice. The avacado deep was not as fresh as I expected but it was still good once you added salt. My Husband had the onion rings. He said they were good. The fries were good. The waitress pushed it to 4 stars because I was giving it 3 stars for lack of vegan options and just for taste. I may try once more just to see if I will improve the rating. Definitely not worth the price, but good nonetheless.

I barely give 1star to a restaurant but they might deserve it. here is my experience: the crabcake was cold enough to replace it. the people not only apologize for their bad service but even dont have a smile on their face. the salad dressing didnt have a good flavor on my opinion. I asked for a well-done grilled salmon while it was medium cooked. you will have the bill on your table although you have not finished yet.

On top of the fact she is extremely personable and friendly, she’s an amazing worker who tended to everyone with speed and friendliness. If you can make it to this location, try to sit by Yusan. She’s a wonderful person and made the experience here all the better! Food is also great!

This place is great if you want to watch a game and grab a beer. That said how hard is it to put up a bunch of TV's and server beer. Very limited menu basic burger, fries and fried food. The food is very overpriced for the quality of food you get but what do you expect from a hotel bar at a major convention center. If you want a quick sit down meal inside the Gaylord this might be your best option. However, if you are willing to walk a block or two down the street you will find many better food options.

Disappointed. Ordered a burger and a salad to take back to my room. The process took almost an hour and my burger and fries were ice-cold, which shows that the kitchen staff just let it sit around forever. I understand that they are busy (it was lunch time during a conference) but, isn't that the nature of their business? The bartender didn't necessarily make it better - didn't offer me a drink (of water even) or any sort of "hey, I know you have been waiting a while, let me check on your order". And, by the way, the food is pretty expensive. Will not return and do not recommend.

Decent beer selection. Wait staff is on their own planet. If you sit in the bar area, along the window, you're in no-man's land. You're neither sitting at the bar, nor sitting at a waited table. You'll have to play both bartender, and server yourself. I've never seen so many employees working together in such an unproductive manner.

After we got our food from the food runner , we asked for silverware, and we didn't get anything. Anything we needed we had to go to the bar. Incredible burger is great and vegan. Don't get the nachos: they should be called naked nachos. Very skimpy. Our server was awesome. Get the red velvet cake for dessert. Bloody was good, if you like horseradish.

During our week long stay at the Gaylord Resort, we ate here our first day and there wasn’t many other people in the restaurant, yet our server was nowhere to be found when we needed them, but no big deal we weren’t in a hurry- well, when it came time for the check, we specifically asked for the check to be separated, and our server acknowledged that- literally 20 minutes later he came back with one single check. We told him it was wrong and he disappeared for another 15 minutes, and still came back with it wrong! We waited nearly an hour by the time they got it right. We decided to try the place again on our last day, and this time the waitress not only disappeared after taking our drink & order, but the food was all wrong- the management didn’t seem to care whatsoever when we told them - I think this is a regular thing for them since it’s in a hotel with patrons they know will never return after their stay! EVERYONE around us BOTH TIMES we visited had the same complaints!

On 8/24/2018, 8:30 pm. We were seated but all the servers went to the back room for some reason, they came out from the back room and looked around and huddled together but for some reason they did not stop to serve those seated. We decide to leave to go elsewhere. Maybe management can solve the problem.

Worst place to eat. One and done for me. Food was ok to good... service was beyond terrible. Orders and checks were messed up. We had 1.5 hours for lunch. This establishment could not accommodate 12 person party on 9 checks in this time frame. Manager tried to give excuses as to why this was acceptable.

My only problem which must be common here....we sat at the bar and had to continually pay after every drink. I was told this was because I didn't want to start a tab. I want to believe that maybe they have had people abandon the check on occasion so they wanted to keep my credit card hostage. Maybe at a local hole in the wall bar but not at a hotel restaurant such as this. If I'm sitting at the bar I should be able to enjoy my drink, food or just conversation without the server constantly grabbing the bill or asking if I was done. Oh and I have never seen wings that small before....

I was invited a birthday gathering on Saturday, May 13, 2017. My husband was here previous and thought the restaurant was horrible but thought he would try it again to give them the benefit of the doubt. Well, It took 45 minutes to get a cup of hot water with lemon, It took 2 hours to get entrees, the waitress did not introduce herself and was cold as ice, and the manager did not want to come out to address the concerns of a party of 15. I had to go inside to get my own lemonade and the cost for a soda, fish/chips and a hamburger was $47.53. Maryland tax and Gaylord tax This was not worth the food nor trip around the beltway from Elkridge, MD. I want to rate this place 1/2 start but the survey is too generous with the lowest rating of 1 star.

The food was mediocre. The Mac & Three was a child size portion. I would not recommend this place mainly because of the service. The service was the worst I have ever experienced and I travel/eat out often. The server (Sisay) was rude and unprofessional to say the least. She only came to our table once after taking our order and that was only because we called her over for refills. Once we were finished eating we had to call her over again for our check. She seemed annoyed and bothered that we asked her for it. After seeing the added gratuity (for 6 people - that we were not informed of) we realized why she had ignored us and was so rude. It seemed that since she knew that she was going to get a $25.00 tip she didn't have to do her job. This woman continued to roll her eyes at us. I have never been treated like this by somebody in the service industry. Either the lady needs to find another job where she doesn't have to deal with people or she needs a lesson on how to treat people in general. She was a miserable person.

Ate here a few times during my stay. The wings were the best food out of everything by far but that's not saying much. The nachos were bad, mostly because the salsa was inedible. I thought the "loaded chips" were east coast slang for fries but no, literally plain potato chips with toppings, yuck! If you must go here stick with the wings. Service was hit and miss. One waitress was an absolute sweetheart but another waiter never checked on us and we had to ask 3 times to get our check.

Many of the reviews of this place confuse me. I had a normal experience where I enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. If I could give it a 3.5 I would as that is closer to what the restaurant is. If you are attending a conference this place is great for a relatively quick bite or if you are an Avid sports fan because of the televisions. If you are staying at the hotel however, I would probably go elsewhere first and keep this restaurant as a backup.

My husband and I were at the Gaylord Hotel for the Fashion Focus 2019 hair expo on Sunday, March 30...this was our first time to National Pastime ever...the host were very nice and professional...the 3 girls told us it would be a 30 minute wait but I believe we were stuffed in less time which was great...Amina was our server although she was very nice, knew the menu, and knew what to recommend it felt like she kept forgetting us bc it too a long time to get our drinks and water, we were only checked on once and it took a long time to get our check at the end while I watched her rage care of other tables or just disappear and had to get up and get what we needed from another who was standing at the computer behind us taking care of their own tables (we sat up by the big tv at a football shaped table)...I told Amina that I had been a bartender and server for 20 years before and it seems like instead of her being on her A game it seemed more like she thought that ment it was ok to not be around as much also we were never visited by a manager to see how our visit and meal had been going and every restaurant I've ever worked in the manager on duty anyways made it a point to hit as many tables as possible throughout the shift and I watched the manager walk from the kitchen to the bat and back to the kitchen not once did management hit a single table within three restaurant...we started with pear vodka flavored martini and the Harbor cocktail from the cocktail menu...the pear flavored martini was really bad bc it tasted like chemical rather them vodka but the Harbor cocktail was fantastic...we also started with the pretzels and beer cheese appetizer...OMG fantastic!!! Then my husband and I split the Puerto Sofrito sandwich and the Godfather with a cesar and garden salad as our sides...both were sooooo good...we gave five stars bc of the food and the hosts...we give the bar drinks 3 stars bc the only one that was good was the Harbor cocktail...finally, we give the server and management 2 stars...although we left around 5 p.m. we will definitely be back since the food was sooooo good and hope that the service, bar drinks, and management will be more on point at that time.

I come here yearly and am normally pleased with the food and service. Its normally busy, but given it's location, this is not surprising. I came back this year, as is tradition, and was severely disappointed. It was busy, so there was a 45 minute wait. Again, not surprising and I was more than happy to wait my turn. We were seated and then.... nothing. We looked at the menu (and were disappointed that the took off our favorite menu item, the lamb burger, but that's another matter). We waited 20 minutes without even being greeted. I went up to the host stand and politely informed them of our lack of service. The y shrugged me off and said they'd send someone over. I sat back down and waited.... and waited... and waited.... another 10 minutes and no server ever stopped by. We got up, put our menus and silverware on the host stand and left. They didnt even try to get us to stay or apologize or anything like that.... welp, I guess it's time to find a new tradition...

There were plenty of empty tables.my family expected a lot more especially because its located in such a fancy hotel. Not many other options to eat inside hotel. I only recommend the bar dont go there to eat.

Horrible bartender. Here for new years eve and Tracy the bartender was completely unfriendly. I didn't care for the drink after i took a sip and asked her about the ingredients and she seemed to be nonchalant when i asked. I am use to good bartenders asking if i like the drink or if i would like to order something else. There was a bug in my friend's drink and when brought to her attention she just dumped it and made another without any apologies. Definitely would not recommend! So many bars in the area with excellent drinks and mixologists such as succotash

The food was ok and it took a long time to come out. The server was NOT attentive or helpful but because we were a party of 7, an 18% "service charge" was automatically included. Even though this "service charge" was included on the initial bill, the final credit card receipt had a "gratuity" line without mentioning the 18% that had already been added beforehand. Oh, and the server couldn't figure out how to split the check info two.

Service very sub park. The place is called National Pastime yet they have no baseball on any TV's. I asked for them to put the Nationals game on and nothing. They have car auctions and documentaries. Lame and prices are way high $30 for two rail drinks. Need some proper managment.

It's bar food, but man it was pretty bad, especially for the price. Sandwiches weren't practical in their form. Stacked high so you have to take them apart to eat. Cocktails were tooth achingly sweet. Utensils didn't look clean. Potato chowder had nice texture but was too salty. Bartender was all over the place. Not worth it.

If you like loud and sports, get a bite here. It has a nicer feel than your typical bar. The place is large and has huge screens all around and is definitely for sports enthusiasts. They have all your standard American offerings, appetizers, salads, sandwiches & typical beer.

Beautiful atmosphere, decent but overpriced drinks, terrible service, terrible steak sandwich. When I walked into this restaraunt, I was mezmorized by the whole vibe. That's the only thing this place had going for itself. The wings were decent but small. Everything else was sub-par to terrible. Would I recommend this place to anyone else? Short answer...NO. My husband on the other hand would recommend it to his enemy.

Usually excellent service and good classic food. Unfortunately, the service I received today was substandard. I arrived around 130pm and was seated. My order was taken promptly (Turkey BLT & Ice water), and delivered to the table quickly. The sandwich was delicious, as expected. However, my server was nowhere to be seen after she delivered my sandwich. My water glass sat empty for over an hour.. When i finally managed to catch her attention again, I asked for my check. Another 20minutes had passed before she brought my check and when it arrived for me to sign for, there was no pen!! I simply asked for the manager at the front, who generously offered to comp the meal. I declined his offer as the food was good, and it wasn't the cooks fault the service was substandard. I may still ear here once in a while.. but I will be more cautious about the attentiveness (or lack thereof) of my server.

Best food available in the convention center. It is a bit noisy. Get the burgers. The crab cake is a bit off. The food is just not that good for the price you pay.

Very good hamburger. Not as baseball oriented as I thought- in fact- golf and ESPN were on all of the screens. A bit pricey as well. Convenient if you are staying in the hotel. Super touristy as well.

Horrible, horrible, horrible service. Just had lunch two groups of us, and there was no service at all in the bar. After we got our food from the food runner , we asked for silverware, and we didn't get anything. Anything we needed we had to go to the bar. And on to of it we were charged service fee fr serving ourselves. Manager didn't do anything about it. Horrible, horrible, horrible.

Visiting from Wisconsin and wanted to watch the packer game. The place had great seating with TVs everywhere. Not a single tv head the packer game on. We asked the bartender if she could put the game on one of the TVs in the bar area. She said she couldn't because people were already watching the other games. It seems silly to have tvs something the walls and not play every possible nfl game on at least one of them. They're were multiple tvs with the same game on so it changing one of them seems like it wouldn't be a big deal. Really tho, a sports bar not willing to play all the games seems absurd.

Had to wait for s table and when brought in saw at least 10 empty tables. We ordered and had to wait over 30 minutes fir food to arrive. Server never checked during the time we waited for our food to arrive. Awful place!

I've eaten there a few times and I've only gotten the crabcake sandwich and then the crabcake meal. For 30$ I'd expected it to come with sides or something but all I received was just cakes. The service was top notch!

Overall our experience at the Gaylord in National Harbor was aggravating. Being stuck in the hotel during rainy weather means paying for a taxi or getting stuck at National Pastime. National Pastime needs new staff. Every time we tried to eat there we were not given food we ordered or had to call over the manager to get taken care of. We never got refills & our checks were wrong. It doesn't say much about a restaurant when multiple tables in one area complain about the service or the food. We even witnessed one couple get up & leave because they never got service. The food is way over priced & not that great.

I want to review this restaurant mostly for one main reason. I came here to bring my child to have dinner. The most important dining experience is obviously the food,atmosphere, the attentiveness of the staff etc. What brings down and great experience to a bad one is finding a foreign substance in your food. In my last few experiences with other establishments with this situation really hasn’t been that good at all. In my last 12 years I have never been impressed with how the Managers have handled this situation until I was approached by Milton who walked up to me in a very professional and approachable way and asked me about my experience here at restaurant. I found a little shred of wood in my sandwich , honestly I was going to leave without saying anything until I felt he was genuinely concerned. I told him the story. I hold him to the highest level of Restaurant Managers I’ve ever experienced. Please National retain this Manager for years to come. He’s an extremely valuable person for the others to emulate and learn from. He really went out of his way and “WOWED” me the as a c., I will always have nothing but letting others know of what a great restaurant this is! Milton for Caring

Enjoyed my experience at National Pastime. The bartender acknowledged my party as soon as we sat down even though it was busy. We did not have to wait long before we ordered and our drinks arrived. Also, there was a quick turnaround time for our food. The food was hot and well prepared. The atmosphere was upbeat and indicative of a sports bar. Overall great experience.
