REVIEWS OF Maryland House IN Maryland

Jonathan Mitchell

Many great food choices. Clean, modern restrooms. Lots of seating. Massage chairs. Maryland lottery machine. Large, spacious, well-lit, nicely designed structure. Lot’s of parking and trash cans. An ideal place for families with children.

Ramesh Moorthy

Always convenient, good food choices, clean restrooms.

Lisa Kelly

Clean restrioms. Ample parking. Good selection in the food court...something for everyone

Tee Brown

Nice place to stop for a rest stop. There's a wide enough selection of places to eat. It's newly renovated.

C Turner

Good for a quick bite to eat... they have a variety of eateries but the women's bathroom was a mess while half of it wasn't even accessible and 5+ stalls on the open side weren't working. Please get the ladies room in order and clean it up!

Tab jav

This is a pretty large rest area with so many food options. However, the food is ridiculously overpriced. I paid $5.20 for a medium latte at Dunkin donuts (this is $2.80 at my local Dunkin donuts). I was here around 2am and some of the restaurants were closed. Overall a neat and clean space with ample parking space.

Bob Jones

Placed an order at Phillip's Seafood house and waited 15 minutes to find out they lost my order. They seen me standing there and never asked what I was waiting for. I got my money back as everyone I was traveling with ordered and finished at other restaurants.

Mrsderanged

So clean and beautiful. Lots of choices to eat. Love stopping here when on road trips.

Steven Lowell

Fancy truck stop Plenty of food and very clean. I highly recommend coming here especially for taking a long trip down to Virginia. Stock up on food because going through Maryland Delaware to Southern Virginia there is very little offering of efficient service areas like this

Shakira Syed

Clean restrooms. And healthy food choices. Not fast food healthy. But healthy organic choices. I left out of Maryland House with a quinoa and feta cheese wrap. And it was delicious! Great job!

Mary Rivera

One of my favorite rest stops along I 95 , food variety and plenty of rest rooms stalls. A great place to take a driving break.

Mac Voyager

Nice center. Usually only stop here to use the restrooms and maybe stand in a very long line to get some coffee, day or night. Bathrooms are for the most part somewhat clean. Good luck is all I gotta say.

Brent M. Heavner

Super convenient right off 95. Also filthy, long lines, and grumpy food service workers. Better than nothing, but decidedly suboptimal.

Katie Eichman

Best rest stop I have ever visited. I actually plan to visit this one on road trips.

Kostya Slavashevich

Modern bathrooms and a great place to tire out your dogs (park by the back, lots of grass for them to play)

Gianna Plescia

This highway stop was the worst place I have ever been to. Each line was so long it took forever to get to the front. We decided to take our chances with Jerry’s and boy was that a mistake. The two people working were so slow and did not care about anything. They took their time. When we got to the front of the line they informed us after waiting for forty five minutes that they were only serving pizza and fries. There was only one selection of pizza. I have never had a more horrible rest stop experience.

Kaishi Axon

Expensive, absurdly so. Consistent across all the establishments operating within. Also, most close fairly early (9PM or so) leaving all remaining customers to wait around at whatever is still open. Clean enough I guess but no recycling bins. Prices were just horrific though. Like sports stadium level bad. $9 for fast food chicken nuggets, 10 pieces, no sides or drink, $11 with those. Just as an example.

Tiffany Marron

Clean facilities and nice middle stop from my house to BWI. I see making this a regular stop for facilities while driving. Food is usually over priced in rest stops, but they do have some interesting choices. I normally just refuel on water.

Cheryl Merriken

New and updated since last there years ago. Nice stop for bathroom and eats.

Ivy Dan

Way expensive to purchase anything here. they want $3 to $5 for a candy bar. Be smart, bathroom break here, but go to a store at any exit for your snacks. the bathrooms are fairly kept. I suppose it's cleaner than most rest stops

Ellenique Makar

Excellent ladies room design, layout, and maintenance... let's face it, this is the main reason to stop here. Bonus: excellent selection of food options. Pricey but we're a captive market.

Mark Thomas

Great place to visit but not to eat.. expensive

Thomas Burkett

New and clean are the only perks. Prices are insane, I would feel better if the person behind the register was wearing a ski mask. That's just how I prefer to be robbed.

Antonella Niccolai

It's a beautiful big and very clean and confortable place. You can choice among fish, hamburgers, pizza, fruit salad and more. You can also put gas (regular $ 2.65)

John C

Nathan's was great as usual. But I went in to get breakfast at 5:30 am and dunkin donuts has no capability to make breakfast sandwiches and has no bagels at that time. I was told that none of those items are available until the next supervisor comes in. How exactly does that work? To me, 5:30 am is not too early to carry breakfast items or bagels. Hopefully, they will address that deficiency going forward.

Tom Dascole

Nice rest stop with clean bathrooms and plenty of food/drink options, expect a long wait for any food if you go at a busy time, and the food spots will probably be closed if you try to go late at night to avoid the rush

Aneesh S.

While it is a clean open area to eat or get anything you need on the road, it is quite pricey. We searched around for something in reasonable price and quantity/quality but wasn't worth buying anything there. The only thing we did was pump gas,

Marc Ness

Really well laid out, very efficient for the huge traffic. I only stopped for the rest rooms. Which are massive, and work very well for the standard guy. My girlfriend had a rapid experience also, it looks as though they've got the rest room logistics worked out. Many food options, which looked to be flowing smoothly - even the miniature humans seemed to be happy with the logistics. Wide entrance doors made entry and exit easy even with the inevitable person who stops right at the front door to check their phone.

Suzanne Banville

I ordered 2 cheesesteaks and 2 fries for $30. I was told it would be about 10min. After 25min and no-one else around I asked what was taking so long and gave my receipt. They went and got the manager who gave my money back and said the girl I gave my order to went on break and didn't give the order. (The girl I gave my order to was next to her and wouldn't even look at me.)

Louis Bongiovanni

Jammed summer crowds. Wendy's here doesn't serve full menu and really should. There is no reason they should force you to buy combos. And no Value Menu is unacceptable.

Scott Bridges

Very nice service area ! 5 different restaurants, rest rooms, fuel, Duncan Donuts, right on I-95

Robin McKelvey

Clean restrooms and a pleasant place to stop and take a break.

Randy Harrell

A very nice rest stop with great food options.

Jill

Fantastic rest stop. Bathrooms are almost always very clean. Lots of parking and food options. Gas station in the lot. They also have some Tesla charging stations available for you to use. It's easily accessible from the road.

Deborah Lowe

It's got everything you need. Excellent parking, restaurants easily accessible. Lots of relaxing areas inside and out, and the most "great clean operating bathrooms" large enough to accommodate crowds. Stop here and be welcomed into Maryland or stop by and say good bye.

Ashley Fox

Prices seemed high to me, but I enjoyed the overall experience and appreciate all that is offered. My food was tasty. Next time I want to try the Clam Cowder!

Lisa M Denison

Very clean with good rest rooms, plenty of parking and seating indoors or out. The food is all fast food, but there are 5 or 6 choices including deli sandwiches and ice cream. Attractively set up, with trees and plants, and comfortable seating.

Tony Moreira

It was a very nice place to stop and rest and grab a cup of coffee and do Nature's other things but it's a great route to take we went out for my nephew's wedding it beats taking 95 it was a great great Road plenty of rest areas plenty of beautiful things to see enjoy the ride it really beats taking 95

Dianna Delia

A rest stop worth stopping by. Charging stations, massage chairs, clean bathrooms and lots of food choices. Auntie Anne's was not fresh but other than that, a good place to refresh.

MarkGoldberg Brooklyn

If you don't mind the massive amount of people going in and out of this rest stop/fast food stop/bathroom/ gas stop on Friday through Sunday; then you will be okay with this place. Otherwise, just drive a bit off the main highway and lose the crowd and the noise in a quiet place.

Clbtink06

Clean, open and airy, has a nice variety of food places, but is quite pricey.

Gabriel Navarro

Nice pit stop enjoyed my time there ate and games for the kids.

Harry Woods

Great rest stop. Everything you need and very clean. Right on 95. It's a place to take a break not a hotel.

suzanne phillips

Clean bathrooms, there is always someone in cleaning them. The food is good, usually a small line you can eat it there or take it with you, there are gas stations and charging stations as well.

Asia Robinson

Great rest stop. Bathrooms always clean, never a line, plenty to eat if you choose.

Eddie murphy

Every "resturant"/ food place was out of certain products and the workers not very attentive. I had to repeat my order 3 different times after paying to make sure it was right and we weren't missing anything. Unless you absolutely have to stop for food would not buy from this location very over priced, especially in their "convenience store" section of the building.

Steven Wong

Very clean bathrooms and good variety of fast foods. If you are a sanrio fan, bring in your quarters and pennies because they have a penny press machine with the following choices: 1. Hello Kitty; 2. Little Twin Stars; 3. Hello Kitty & Badzmaru; 4. My Melody

Pancho Rufles

It's a lot better than it used to be. Looks more modern and always cleaning restrooms.

Kenneth Holz

Clean and efficient stop for food and fuel. Safe location for restroom and refreshments.

Fent5man Gaming and More

One of the best rest places. Nice staff that can help you. Clean bathrooms.

Cyndi Gionfriddo

Love stopping here on our long trips because they have so much to offer for food, drink & souvenirs.

V T

I bought some pretzels from Auntie Annie's. Oh my. Never tasted such horrible bitter pretzels. They were the last 2 remaining while they were making new ones. Almost felt as though I was biting on cleaning solution in the pretzel. Very bitter after taste and I regretted the $10.46 or slightly more that I just spent in there. Wendy's only sold 10 piece nuggets and nothing in smaller quantities like the 4 or 6 piece. And that was almost $6.70. Everything seems over priced! Not a good experience I had. Not visiting this rest stop again!

Mary Kersey

Wonderful stay only thing not a lot of cable channels

Wallysgtr1

A well placed rest stop. Clean bathrooms. Very well lit during the night. Many food choices. A place you could rest your eyes.

Zebra Base

If you need to take a break Don't wait Do it here. It's safest rest area along I-95. It's a big, well lighted rest area with many food options, has plenty of tables and chairs plus the rest rooms are clean.

adriana rosales

So busy. Hardly seems worth the effort to try and get food here unless you have time, it's definitely not a quick stop. Clean bathrooms though which is always a major plus.

Gina Rodkey

Very well designed. A refreshing relief from driving. Large clean restrooms. Places to grab a bite to eat or drink. Massage chairs a bonus

Inked Woods

Sorely disappointed, the staff was very inhospitable. What kind of hotel kicks someone out of their room, then proceeds to call their costumers out by deeming it a bathroom stall??? I'm staying at the Baltimore Fun "IREL" (what ever that stands for) home next year.

P Chandresh Gandhi

I was toward Rochelle park NJ and head Breack at this place. So good having different kind of food and drink.

Antonio Assetto

Great pit stop! Very crowded, but plenty of places in the men's room to do the necessary business. Lots of food places.

A. Musa Ahmad

Overpriced but what you gonna do it is on the interstate. The bathrooms were in fair condition at best. As far as convenience it is good for stopping in a pinch.

Lanai Nash

I ate from Phillips Seafood it was tasty. The rest of the family had pizza and the price was through the roof. That's why I gave them 3 stars

Rex Steve

Nice stop bisa jajan auntie Anne's

My Name

Easy access but food is very expensive. They know they have the market cornered. Clean bathroom and good food choices. Plenty of parking and for gas the prices are in line with normal... amazingly.

william wolff

Wonderful place. Very clean and all staff was very courteous. Absolutely no complaints from me.

Garry Jones

It was nice but to people and not enough help! Food lines was pack! But the bathroom's were clean. I give 4 stars would have given 5 if they had more Servers

Greg Singleton

Great place to visit and rest at when you are on a long drive good food loved it

Syed Ahmed

Great service area. Everything is here. I would recommend everyone to come when you pass by for a long journey.

tressa james

Overpriced small portions with long wait times. For a seafood place it wasn't fresh at all abd everything tasted as of from the frozen section. I had a poboy with no seasoning on it, I didn't even finish it

Amcdjr

It's a great one stop shopping location while traveling. Easy to get in and out of. Clean bathrooms plenty of parking a good selection of fast food and snacks.

Tseh Tien Shia

The best part is this rest stop has electric vehicle chargers! Also, food court has a good selection of vendors, and wifi signal is strong. Bathroom smells decent and has plenty of stalls.

Rosalind Christian

The g Food selections were good. It looks very nice inside. A little pricey but worth it.

Nilesh Masih

I love stopping here...if it's at the beginning of a trip, I associate it with promise of a fun time ahead...at the end of a trip it's a sign that we're almost home! Love Maryland and Chesapeake house!

James Minadeo

Pretty clean. Can be crowded. Don't expect quick service.

Ariel Modica

Nice spot to stop at especially if you have been driving for a while!!

Jaye Gallagher

Clean bathrooms and great vendors. Just be prepared for the loudness of the bathroom. They have the fast hand dryers that are very noisy. When all 25 are running at the same time, you will not be able to hear much of anything they have at least 100 stalls so no worry for lines!

John Thompson

Between Baltimore and Philadelphia there are 3 rest stops. Maryland House, Chesapeake House, and Delaware House. Chesapeake House used to be the best, then recently after a huge renovation Delaware House became the primo rest stop. But Maryland House has quietly be improving. Well run rest area with an okay selection of food choices. I mean it's a rest stop, so obviously I don't expect fine dining. But it's decent in a pinch.

Ed McCormick

This is actually a great stop for an Interstate rest area. Clean and well run.

Daniel E

Bathrooms we're relatively clean. The food definitely isn't cheap, but your paying for the convenience of not getting off 95. We are at the Wendy's inside, they messed up our order but we're very quick to make it right.

solarscreen

This place... This is a rest stop?!? It must be the palace of rest stops! I've been here only a few times but each time I remember it's on the trip, we have to stop. If you have not stopped here before, check it out.

Marilyn Wier

We took our time here they had wonderful massage chairs someone was constantly cleaning the bathroom there was lots of variety in food choices

Sequoia Pointer

On traveling to Boston for personal reasons I had to stop off at the Maryland house. I am well pleased at the stores that were there and the cleanliness of that location. A lot of people we're stopping there and that is what you expect in a place caters to his customers. Two thumbs up Maryland.

Jacob Gross

Nicest and best place to stop i’m a lot on the road i never saw such a nice rest area

Kathryn D'Alleva

Great place to stop along your route for restroom, food, or just a quick break. There is a deli, Phillips Seafood, and even an area for fruits, a bag of chips or jerky and a drink. Better than the Chesapeake Bay house which is the next stop.

Latoya Small

Sorry the low grade is directed Twd Nathan’s When you walk inside the first sign says “Nathan’s serves breakfast” Walk up to the counter, it’s 7:10am Cashier says “we are not open” “Might open in about 20-25min” I asked if there is a specific time to open “It’s whenever the guy is finished getting the stuff ready” Sounds impractical for a breakfast place to not open by 7am and NOT have specific open time, it’s Saturday morning The rest stop is clean and plenty of clean bathrooms available

Føxy's World

I would have liked it better if it had more stores open around the time I came which was a little after 9.

Frank White

Nice place to grab dogs from nathan's just don't eat the breakfast and Duncan donuts is always on point

Lisa Jones

Nice place to take a break. Clean restrooms. Comfortable seating. I ate at Phillips Seafood Express. The crab cake was good. The food was better than the usual rest stop fare. Maryland House is what Baltimore Travel Center should have been.

Patrricia Molloy

Very nice clean lots of places to eat great Dunkin Donuts

Lance Mclee

Phillips, is the Best try the blacken yellow fin tail tuna, boy-oh-boy. Yummy

Nelson Neal

You're better off getting off the road and getting your gas Inn in Aberdeen closest Dunkin Donuts and gas there's no one else is just so overpriced you mean a donut 50 $0.60 more for a donut coffees 50 $0.60 more gas is $0.50 more the only good reason to go to Maryland house are you get to see a lot of beautiful young ladys and you get to wait in a long line

Troy Pinkney

Good place to "REGROUP" from the road! Rest rooms clean and available. Most of the restaurants were closed because of the time of day but Dunkin Donuts was open, therefore when I was back on the road again, I was one of those Americans who Run on Dunkin!!!

Graeme Annett

Clean nice bathrooms, there is a burger king Starbucks, convenience store and gas and easy parking. What more do you need?

Scott Bigelow

The Maryland House is a large rest stop with easy on/off the highway. The food court is relatively updated. There are many places to sit and charge your phones while the family eats. The food options are basically what you would expect at a larger food court. There's a pizza place, a hot dog place, a crab shack (because it's Maryland), and a burrito place. I recommend the burrito place because the food prepared there seemed to be the freshes and the offer something for everyone. The portions are large and will definitely keep your thanks on full for a few hours as you drive on down the road. We bought a crab magnet with wiggly legs and claws at the gift shop and now the cats go wild every time we open the fridge. Cheers y'all.

Master Wong

Filthy. Was warned about going here but had no choice as we needed gas and bathroom break and the traffic was barely moving. Bathroom was covered in bodily fluids. People were walking in it and spreading it to the food area. Enough said. Two gas pumps were not working. Third pump couldn't print a receipt. Get new management ASAP! Next time we'll run out of gas and urinate in bottles before going here.

Bchaz23

As far as rest stops go it's awesome, so many good food choices. But and this is important it is always busy during daylight hours. Parking is good enough to help get you in and out but once inside it's such a large room there is no escaping the feeling.

carol hassler

Good stop to hit bathroom or pick up something to eat so you don't have to get off high way. Had my grandson and had to use family bathroom to use changing table. That was clean rest of room trashed

Frederick Mendez

Cool roof structure with skylight pouring in to the whole place, which is one huge room with many eating options. Huge modern bathroom.

Jackie Moore

Not bad for what it is. Bathrooms were decent.

Dorena Kearney

Popular stop along North/South Highway. Gas, variety of food stations all under one building. They have even incorporated a pet relief area.

Toni Smith

Big rest area. Lots of places to buy snacks/food and sit for a minute. Very busy and pretty clean.

Gavin Bollard

Maryland house is pretty much in the middle of nowhere but it has a massive toilet facility that is very clean as well as a pharmacy, gift shop, Wendy's, Dunkin' Donuts and several other lunch and snack shops. There's plenty of parking and seating and it's all very disabled-friendly.

Mike Byrne

On way to Virginia. Good midway stop. Clean restrooms and large selection of food vendors

Rajah Ali

One of my favorite places to stop. Easy access to and from the highway. Nice variety inside very clean

john h

This place is always packed with people. Big bathrooms, lots of fast food choices, but all of the lines for food were probably 20 to 30 people deep.

michael jones

Great reststop pricing for sandwiches to look much more than gas

Siva sidhamalli

It is always a pleasure to visit the rest area in the eastern states. As a resident of a Midwestern state I am used to seeing rest areas that have only vending machines that stock junk food. Also, there are no gas stations and one has to get out of the highway to fill gas. This rest area was particularly clean and seemed to have a good choice of healthy food.

Abigail Joseph

It's not like before, don't get me wrong change is good but this change is not, you stop early on the morning to get food the restaurants are closed only Dunkin donuts was open.

Rick Goswellen

What a slick way to do the bathrooms they have the men's bathroom on one end and the woman's bathroom all the way at the other end. If a man and woman have to both use the bathroom they have to walk by all the restaurants. All food prices in their are high. You're better off taking one of the exits and finding a place to eat.

phyllis chapman

Maryland House is fully equipped, restrooms, food everything. Plenty of parking, gas pumps. I've been stopping there since I was in high school. That was in the 1960's. Love the place.

Peter Thompson

Big rest stop. There's a tourism desk that is usually staffed. Lots of typical fast food choices. It's clean and plenty of areas to sit and eat or stretch your legs out of the weather. If you're traveling along 95 to or from NY to someplace South, skip the NJ rest areas and use this one. It's about 30 minutes south of the Delaware Memorial Bridge.

Andrew O

Had this as five stars, due to the 5 free DC fast charging stations that let me fill up every day on my work commute. A couple days ago, they ended the teaser for everyone and now charge $5.95 just to connect, plus $0.20 per minute. I guess it was too good to last, so it's back to charging at home for about $1 per day. Minus two stars for getting my hopes up about the future.

Haifa Alajlan

It has multiple food options, You will Find a parking very easily,The bathroom also very clean

Hazel Outley

Ate at Phillips Seafood Restaurant. They had no shrimp, no hush puppies and no Caesar Salad dressing for the Caesar Salad. I was very disappointed

mark portrick

A lot of vagrants walking around the parking lot, asking for money. How did they make it all the way to the rest stop if they're broke. Very uncomfortable if you're with your family and children.

Pat Rocchi

For a rest stop, Maryland House is surprisingly bright, cheery and inviting. They handle a large volume of people admirably, and the men's rooms are always clean (in fact, it seems there is always a staff member in there cleaning up.) I would have given it 5 stars if the food weren't so overpriced.

C Pr

Clean with a number of decent food choices. Additionally there are an abundance of chargers for electric cars including Tesla super chargers.

RonnieMo1015

Great for a pit stop heading north or south. Variety of quick food options.

Javed Nasir

Nice place to stop during travelling Nice size parking area. Reasonable Gass price. Food selection is good and also prices are good. Wash rooms are clean. Over all good experience.

Arnie Christianson

Better than average interstate Oasis/pitstop. They have some healthy food options and also charging stations for Tesla vehicles.

Jeff Landsman

While I miss the old building The quality and sanitation of the new one is much better.

Dawn Marie

Great rest stop. Many amenities.

Jerry Chmielewski

Ate at Philips. It was not good. Overpriced and small portions. The staff was good but that couldn't help long wait for an expensive meal. Avoid the crab pretzel it was hard and not worth $10. Fish taco is exactly that. A single taco with waffle fries. Not satisfying

Godfrey Daphness

Safe place to park and rest late at night. Large men’s restroom. But the Lounge area can do with upgrade.

M Romeo

I mean it's convenient. But the food is WAY overpriced. You'll pay 20% more for visiting a Wendy's in this location and only having a limited menu versus going to a regular Wendy's. The kids had slices of pizza. $6.99 for a slice of Cheese pizza is just stupid.

Dave Roche

Maryland House is decent. Lots of food selection for a rest stop. Have many childhood memories of stopping here on our way to Disney World.

Joshua Rice

Decent rest stop with plenty of food options and clean bathrooms. Not much else to say about a highway rest stop.

Peter Skirmantas

Clean restaurant and facilities. Food -- especially the chowder --- is good, but overpriced. (If they priced it lower they would sell twice the amount.) An OK stop if you need a break, but watch out for the long lines at certain restaurants if you are in a hurry. Gas was too pricey. Get it only if you absolutely need it.

C Brevett

This place was totally rebuilt only a few years ago, and I have yet to figure out why half the toilets are stopped up, or half the door latches broken, or the humidity problem wasn't solved. There is full time staff who clean all day and keep the toilet paper stocked. Unfortunately low quality materials and poor foresight (doors that open in to a narrow, short stall; winter coats are a serious problem) resulted in a mediocre rest stop rather than a good one.

Raymond Smith

Much improved from many years ago. Why do they take up the close spots with chargers? The spots were mostly empty and old people like me don't believe in electricity.

bindu daniel

I like this resting area really well .. but had a bad experience at the Dunkin’ Donuts... very bad customer service there. And their supervisor a female ( don’t want to mention name) was very arrogant along with the rest of the employees there! I won’t be going there the next time I stop by.

Amira

I always go there and I'm never disappointed by anything it has

Mihai Horhota

I ordered pizza a slice and was almost 8 dollars a slice. The worker were very slow and was only one person. By the was the slice was not that great. The guy was touching his head and was not clean. I can do a better job then Mom Jerry store. Very unorganized. Bad customer service.

The Great Lady

When Co Parenting and both parties live out of state! This is wonderful safe easy and convenient spot! To meet up it's the half way mark for my ex and I ! Clean bathrooms nice out door spot to sit and eat and to stretch cool eatery's on the inside

Moshe Fink

Reasonably clean bathrooms. Reasonably clean facility. It would be a better "welcome to Maryland" facility if there was less emphasis on food-court and more on information about Maryland. Visitors should leave knowing why Maryland is different than every other state, and why they should want to; visit, do business or live in Maryland. Otherwise they should just call it a rest area, and don't waste taxpayer money.

Debbie Venedam

Very clean and bright-- great place to stop heading back to South Carolina!

Leon H.

Usually my first stop after leaving NYC via I95. Reststop is usually clean, nice food court n great place to gas up your auto.

Mike Allen

HORRIBLE OPERATION!!! The operator, Areas USA, is deliberately understaffing Maryland House and Chesapeake House to maximize profits at the expense of unsuspecting travelers. I feel bad for the food workers, who are obviously under a lot of stress trying to serve customers shorthanded AND without direct supervision. Our first encounter was a week ago at Chesapeake House, where it took us at least a half hour to receive our order from Wendy's. These poor, beleaguered kitchen staff seemed overwhelmed and exhausted. If actual Wendy's management witnessed this scene, they would be horrified. We hoped we had witnessed an aberration on a busy day, but we were wrong. We stopped in at Maryland House on our return trip and decided to hit Jerry's because it had the shortest line. Big mistake, as it took 20 minutes to place our order and another 30 to receive it. The poor young man who worked the register had to take orders, fill the pizza orders, slice the pizza as it came out of the oven and he was responsible for cooking and serving all french fry orders. Meanwhile, the girl making the pizza seemed pretty focused, but did not appear equipped to handle anything else. The girl in charge of subs kept disappearing for "breaks" and could not be bothered with making french fries. On top of everything, our subs were HORRIBLE - it resembled something one would get from a school cafeteria and didn't even come close to what we have tasted from a real Jerry's restaurant. Actually, the fries were good, thanks to the miracle worker up front. 3 employees, one of them wayward, NO supervision. I was glad we didn't get food poisoning. When we got back in town, I relayed our horror story to my aunt and she said that my uncle got food poisoning from the Nathan's at Maryland House. TRAVELER BEWARE - DO NOT STOP AT MARYLAND HOUSE OR CHESAPEAKE HOUSE. THE OPERATOR, AREAS USA, SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED FOR HEALTH CODE AND POSSIBLE LABOR VIOLATIONS!

Randall Pederson

Clean area, but everything costs 4x normal already-inflated convenience store prices. Not worth it, if you can avoid it.

Monique Thomas

It has been newly remodeled. The prices are a bit high. But if you need to take a break they have massage chairs.

Dillon Hale

Lots of food choices. Its a great place to stop to get gas, eat, and stretch your legs.

Rovelver Garrett

Great place to eat. So enjoyable to relax for a few minutes.

Rich K.

Always seems to be very busy, but very efficient so it's easy in Easy out.

Edward Imes

Awesome rest area. All that you need and more.

Mike Yeager

Not sure. Pulled into a shaded spot, reclined seat and took a nap. Woke up and drove away. I guess it's 5 stars for the tree and the paved parking!!

richard stecker

Rebuilt several years ago - a great improvement.

E Blizza

The crab cake was good and made with real crab. The hush puppies were sweet. That's not good. Only puppies that are canines are allowed to be sweet.

Ken Dodson Jr.

It has a large enough restroom. And several retailers to choose from

Beanie Perez

We came here with dogs. But what I want to do is make a better area to walk dogs. Came in bathrooms there they were okay. The place was decent I don't know if I'll come there again.

J M

Stopped here for a quick break and some tea from Dunkin Donuts. Restroom and facilities were clean. Hello to the staff and management for having a clean and well lit place to stop with plenty of food options!

john franklin

The Maryland House is a great rest stop with a selection of eating places to choose from and clean restrooms and a family station to very young children.

Andrea Green

Service was slow at all restaurants but the facility was not really crowded. We went to the pizza place first and looked at the price of pizza and went to Wendy's since we could get more for our money. There were no kid meal options that I saw at any of the restaurants. At Wendy's the service was friendly but extremely slow. There were at least 8 people waiting for food to come out and at least 6 in line. There was only 1 cashier and it looked like 2 people cooking. I also went to the burrito place and learned to appreciate Chipotle so much more. Of course prices were high and portion sizes were small. I also notice one of the line workers touching food and working the register without changing gloves. We all know that is a no no. Next time I will stop at another exit and go to a full service eatery because the quality and the cost were not worth the visit. Thanks Maryland House but no thanks.

The bathroom was steamy and I couldn't find an atm.

Ugh. I used to have a job here emptying the outside trash. Scientists have actually discovered new smells in that parking lot. But as rest areas go it's better than most. You should definitely stop in.

Everytime I've stopped here, it seems service just degrades a bit more n more... Half of those employed seems to genuinely care n put themselves into their job; whereas those others are just placeholders!!! Just there to burn time n collect a check!!! Got a sandwich from Jerry's n literally heard the woman mumbled exasperated, "really, another one?!?" Geez... I spend $11-$12 for an extremely generic tuna salad sandwich!! Next time I'll spend it elsewhere!!!

Pleasantly surprised to see a brand new building.

We always stop here on road trips. Love the Phillip's Crab Chowder the most. I also enjoy the Clam Chowder.

A good place to stop whilst on road/traveling.
