Food is good when it comes out. The owner is also the only sushi chef on staff and decides to have social hour during dinner time. My food came out and was good but my wife’s food never came. After 30 minutes of waiting we finally asked about it and the staff was very nervous. Apparently the owner was tied up with more important things and hadn’t even started making the food. We decided not to wait any longer, closed out our tab on the food that did make it to the table, and left.

Food made me and my Fiance sick to our stomach, had food poisoning for two days. I would not recommend this place to anyone and they need to be closed down. I had never felt worse in all my life. The place was dead empty when I went in there and the took forever for take out. WARNING DONT EAT THERE!!!!!

Menu system is weird. You have to order two each per person because each order is half size. What?? I think this system will be the death of this establishment. (why are you forcing me to order two. I only want one) just make it a full size and be done with this half size order foolishness. I have eaten in other Korean BBQ joint and compared their prices. This one is on the pricey side. Their side dishes are on par with other Korean BBQ restaurants. Nothing special. Also it took a while for them to start cooking the meat. In other Korean BBQ restaurants, once you put your order, they heat up the grill and starts grilling afterwards. I haven't tried any of the non grilled items so I can't comment on how they taste but the BBQ is just OK. A little bland compared to other Korean BBQ joints. Service is OK. We ordered steamed egg but the server said it is included when you order meat which is the same with any other Korean BBQ joints. But we watched as every other customers got theirs while we waited for ours. We even told our server twice and she assured us it's coming out soon. Guess what? We finished our meal and no steamed egg to wash our palate. The first server who took our order approached us and explained that there was a mix up in the kitchen and asked if we still want our steamed egg. I told her we already told one of your staff we still want it 10 minutes ago yet here you are 10 mins later still asking us if we still want it. Also we don't like how the seats are arranged. Prepare to share your table with strangers. We will not be coming back to this place. I prefer Honey pig in Ellicott city for delicious authentic Korean BBQ.

I see why this place is always empty. Their service is equal to trash to say the least. I ordered the Spicy Pork Belly on the BBQ Menu — skimpy for $21. The older hostess with the teeth is rude and will blatantly ignore your requests. We waited longer than the duration of the food to cook for one overcooked, tin bowl of rice. I watched the hostess stand there for over 15 minutes holding the bowl of rice. I’m disputing this waste of money with my bank ASAP!

The food was DELICIOUS. The meat for the Korean bbq was the most tender that I’ve tasted at a Korean bbq venue. The sushi is also very good and the lunch specials are good. The service on the weekends are great. Misun is wonderful! We will be coming back again

I tried this place out during their soft opening, so no liquor license yet, however, the lunch special was a great deal! The Nigiri was delicious, as was the shrimp tempaura roll. The sushi rice is perfect! The Dynamite roll topped with scallops was absolutely to die for! I will be back!

Walked into this place and found not one single other individual in the building besides the staff. Looked the Korean BBQ menu and saw that you had to buy TWO entrees in order to get a side order. The old waitress was very unwelcoming and didnt help us with our orders. Highly recommend not going to this place, unless you want to just get a drink and walk right back out

Amazing new Korean BBQ place right in the same row as the Towson Cinemark movies. They cook food for your party at the table and have a great selection of meats and vegetarian options. The food was cooked perfectly and everyone was extremely nice. Definitely one to check out before your next movie!

This was my first time trying this place and second time going to a KBBQ restaurant. The food was amazing. Initially I thought the amount of food my fiance and I received wouldn't be enough but it was. The only reason I gave it a 4 is because the service was kind of bad. We didn't get our rice or soup until we asked for it. The staff was really nice though and kept apologizing but they were very disorganized. I know they just opened recently so I didn't go any lower on my rating. I will come back as the weeks go by and hopefully I can change it to a 5 if the service is better. I'd say go when they have everything in order or if you're ok with the disorganization I'd definitely recommend eating there.

Most of the sushi was fine except the tuna which was spoiled. What really got me was the overall service was lacking. Not a busy day, no reason my table should be cluttered, no reason to wait 10minutes for the check.

This place is the worst. The food is overpriced and doesn't even taste good. The workers have bad attitudes and it's just very uncomfortable being here. The worst Korean BBQ spot I've ever been to. Rather go to Sushi Hana, Iron Age, or Honey Pig. I don't even think they washed these plates and cups. Don't go here.

Clean & spacious. Waitresses were nice. Little cold inside so if u like to be warm, don't rely on the countertop grill. The vent suction takes all the heat. Sushi was good too. Overall a great place to try Japanese & Korean cuisine.

Great atmosphere! The food is delicious but a bit pricey. They have 2 sides to the restaurant, one side is sushi and the other side is Korean BBQ. I've only had the Korean BBQ so far but it was really good.

Went with my mom two weeks ago to get sushi for lunch and it was amazing! Got the Pacific Rim roll and am looking forward to going back for it sometime soon. Tonight my boyfriend and I went to try out the Korean BBQ and the food was fresh and delicious. My only complaint is that they charge extra for the kimchi veggies, rice, and steamed egg. At Honey Pig in Ellicott City, all of that comes “included.” You also get more food at Honey Pig for what you pay. All in all, great experience, just wish more things were included with the BBQ and that the portions were larger. Yummy food though for sure!

I first tried this spot out in 8/2/2019, I had been wanting to see how they were for a while now but I just haven’t had the time. So I tried it with my family and when we first walked in the restaurant the atmosphere was nice but the place was empty literally! Now in my opinion any restaurant that’s located in the Towson, MD area should be packed on a Friday night but nope not this place. I really thought this place was a ghost town, the food taste wise was pretty good but the funny thing was the plates that my food came on were from Walmart so I wasn’t too pleased with that especially b/c I was looking for a more authentic restaurant. Any way the portion size was just ok and the prices were a little pricey compared to other restaurants in the area that sold sushi. The only thing that truly made me happy was the server by the name of Noland (I think that’s how his name is spelled). He was such a sweetheart OMG, all in all this restaurant probably won’t be there for too much longer and I probably won’t be back but my waiter Noland was great ! So if you are brave enough to try this restaurant out I’d say for sure make sure you ask for Noland!

Maimura is a cozy spacious place to enjoy an Ellicott City trip right in the heart of Towson. Our sushi was wildly yummy and our Korean food hit all the right notes. Our waiter was super polite and our water was always topped off. Thank you so much for keeping the music volume at the perfect level! I can not stress this enough. They have a decent sound system at a level that makes private conversations masked and easy to carry. The place itself is pretty sweet looking! If you're in the Lutherville-Towson area and you want some Korean food, look no further because this place rocks!

Food tasted good which is why I even gave two stars but the service was just terrible. We ordered five meats (Korean bbq) and were only given three until we brought it up to the staff. Additionally we did not receive the included rice or soup as promised at the beginning. The staff was running around unorganized the entire time. We sat for literally 50 minutes waiting for the rest of our food to arrive. Edit: in the end our waiter did give us a discount and two free sodas to make up for the very poor service. Again, the food is good they really just need to work on their service.

We ordered seafood pancake and tako yaki for appetizers. They looked wonderfully fried to a golden brown, but they were both mushy inside. The premium BBQ platter was large and could feed 6 people, we ordered other stuff too. The meats were cooked well and were very tasty. It was difficult to get the attention of the wait staff if someone is not cooking at your table.

The food was ok but the service was lacking we sat for 20 minutes waiting for someone to take our order and had other parties seated and serviced before us. When we finally ordered the food came out relatively fast but we didn’t get everything we had ordered and even though the staff was nice and apologized for the food mix up. When we wanted to get our check we sat for 18min trying to flag down someone to get our tab. We were a party of 4 and we wanted our checks separately 2 per tab. So when we finally got someone’s attention so we could get our bill they only brought out one and it still had the food that they had not received on it so we had to take another 8 minutes to flag someone else down to get our check. So after that was settled we paid and as we were walking out we were stopped by one of the associates and we’re told we had to leave a bigger tip and we’re told that we had to tip 15% as a minimum although the tip wasn’t included in the total for the tab. I know that this restaurant is new and hopefully over time they will be a little more organized in the future but until then I will not be going back.

Maimura was very good. After helping my son with his Sophomore move in at TU, it was nice to be able to have a late lunch in a private, low noise spot. We were able to get some good Korean BBQ and chat over chopsticks, bulgogi, dumplings, and sparkling sake (for me lol). Although we were the only ones on the BBQ side, I would definitely recommend for family meals, friends B-Day celebrations, and just in general if you want to try something different!

Was a bit surprised to find full service tableside Korean BBQ in Towson. No need to drive route 70 anymore. High quality food and great service. My new go-to place for large group event dining. Ingredients were of a higher quality and my only complaint was the kimchee was significantly less spicy than usual probably adjusted for the local crowd. But big thumbs up and we'll be back. Sushi side was very good too but tonight was BBQ.

Been here enough to leave a review. I think this is a good enough korean bbq. Their portion is small and it is ordered little weird (1/2 portion per order, minimun 2 orders). Me and my gf were able to eat the beef combo without problem which is for 3 people. Their meat is good and they serve all the side dishes served at korean bbq. I would go here again.

Probably never coming here. Each person has to get 2 barbeque meats, which I understand but when you have a party or if you wanna share it's not ideal. I wasnt even given rice and the waitress was being stingy about the side dishes. Most kbbq places will give you soup and egg drop dish at the end, or other stuff, but we didn't even get that unless we spent more money. Which I thought was ridiculous because we already had ordered more stuff than we wanted, due to the dumb "minimum of 2 bbq for each person" rule. Our server was bossing us around. She also made fun of me, didnt let me order what I wanted and was being very confusing. I will never come here again. As being korean, and a kbbq euthusiant I know what to expect, and what standard kbbq offers and this place is at the short end of the stick. Her service was so awful I literally was so mad and wanted to just leave after being forced on what to order, being told NO I cant get that, and then being ridiculed afterwards. Like excuse me??? My entire party was mad and we will never come here again. She also really RUSHED us to eat, I couldnt even enjoy my meal because she kept forcing us to go fast. I reccomend going to BeOne kbbq or any kbbq place. But BeOne's staff is nice and fast, they give you way more than you expect and give you RICE, and they will always add the soups and egg dish and everything else with no extra fee or dumb rules, and you can order more side dishes without the server telling you no. If you're thinking I'm someone that works there or is trying to promote BeOne, I'm not, im just someone who knows kbbq and who knows what good service is. Just trying to help you customers out so you dont experience this and go experience what good kbbq is like, bc you wont find it here. Also it was also very cold inside.

The serving sizes are very small other than that the food is tasty. Sushi was very delightful and the servings sizes of sushi was plentiful. Service was a little on the rude side. I know they are just opening so kinks with service and maybe portion sizes hopefully will be worked out. I will try them again in near future. Definitely needed this type of restaurant in this area.

Real good Korean BBQ. Me and 2 friends ordered the Beef+Pork combo and we could barely finish it. All the side dishes were fresh and tasty. The cucumber kimchi was so goooddd!! The servers really made our night. Our main server was really attentive, cooked the meat to a good color and was fast to deliver us new dishes. Very nice atmosphere and good selection of soju and drinks. Beats going to Ellicott City when I can go to Maimura in Towson instead!!

Extremely disappointed after my first and only experience at Mai Mura. My husband and I were the ONLY seated customers at this restaurant and my order for my meal simply went ignored. My husband got his meal and I was told it would only be a few minutes. Five minutes later, I was told the manager is the only person there to make the sushi and he was talking with someone. Twenty minutes later, he is still socializing and hasn't even started my food. After my husband I were sick and tired of waiting we said to cancel the order and we would like the check for the items we actually did get. The chef walked right by our table and didn't say a word or offer any sort of apology. The only pleasant experience we had was our waitress and bartender were very nice. They were put in a bad position because of their manager incompetence. Will not be returning after this experience.

Atmosphere was great, and the different sections that were available for Korean BBQ, sushi bar, and table seating. Service was great and accommodating. As the soft opening of the location, the only issue was accessing the website/app on a phone to sign up for a subscription to receive coupons, deals, and updates.

My mother's vegan. Order a veggie soup. Twice, they brought soup with shrimp. The lady snatched the spoon to search the soup herself as if she didn't believed us. Then, charged us for both soups after my neither opted out of eating neither. Eventually, she brought us an updated check. Food was mediocre. Definitely overpriced.

The sushi and bbq were exceptional, however, the service was lacking in that it took almost a half hour to get our check and the required two meats per person was a little outrageous. I will be sticking with Iron Age for any future Korean BBQ delights. The wait there might be long but the 25.00 all you can eat with salad and rice provided upfront is well worth it in comparison to this place.

My granddaughter and I had lunch there and were very pleased. Our server was extremely pleasant and patient as she explained each of the side dishes. We ordered one serving of a very flavorful, yummy Korean seafood pancake; had enough left to bring home and enjoy the next day. For our Korean BBQ dish, we chose spicy pork belly. It was delicious, grilled to crispy perfection. And again, had enough leftovers to bring home. We noticed that others have complained about the small portions. We agree that at first glance the portions of side dishes were small. But with a variety of around 8 dishes, we had a difficult time finishing all of them. Using chopsticks also helped me to eat slower and a much smaller amount than I usually do. We plan to return soon!
