At the present the business gets a score of 3.2 out of 5 and the rating was based on 354 reviews.
As you can see the average score it has is average, and it's based on a high number of reviews, so we can be quite sure that the valuation is quite credible. If there are many people who bothered to value when they've done well, it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to give opinions when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Restaurant belongs to the category of Pakistani restaurant.
Good catered party. Hope the buffet is still the same other days.
Very nice place! We had a small engagement ceremony done here. and I was very happy with the restaurant. The food was freshly made when we arrived and they made sure that none of their items were ever low, meaning everyone was able to take as much as they want and enjoy. The appetizers were prepared fresh and were delicious! The managers were always available as soon as we needed them. The best part was, since our family was the one hosting, we did not get to eat as much and without us ever mentioning anything, they had already packed numerous items for us to take home to enjoy, specifically stating that "events like these mean the hosts don't get to enjoy the food due to hosting. So we made sure to pack food for you to take home free of charge so that you can enjoy." I would definitely recommend this place!
This place was very good 5-6 years ago. Overtime the food quality decreased. Im not saying the food is bad, but it was much better before. Maybe they got new management or something. Also, no more ice cream freezer.
Food quality poor environment not great against your money poorly clean restrooms
Only the best. My families favorite place to dine
They easily have 40-50 halal dishes (as of this review) in their buffet. The food is from a wide range of ethnicities so there is always a good balance.
It used to be great restaurant... now the new owner ruined it.
Wrost restaurant wrost owner , misbehaving rude employees
Price and variety of food is lovely
Fresh and tasty food enjoy every weekend
Food might've been good if it wasn't cold.
Its wonderful so is the food
Great and nice Restaurant.
Went there more than 10 times. Food is Delicious and thay have a lot of varieties. Nice place for families in Baltimore.
Food needs to be more fresh.
Really disappointed. Very rude behavior of the owner at the reception. Forced to pay for unwanted drinks and 15% Gratuity for the worst service. Fried chicken tastes really bad or might not cleaned properly before cooking. End up paying $50 for 2 adults and 2 kids (2-5 years). Previously it used to be good, current owner seems greedy and overcharging the customers. Never ever going to visit again and Food quality and kitchen should be inspected by Health department.
Great place for desi style iftar.
Don't do it! I thought this place was low on food and it looked like it was sitting out all day because it was close to closing so I gave them another try. Went in the afternoon the other day and it was the same. Dirty, food sitting out, low supply. Just don't waste your time.
The worst place to go to for iftar dinner. Completely mismanaged and utterly chaotic!
DONT GO THERE!! The quality has dropped SO MUCH!!
Nice pleasant the food was tasty
Food was excellent. But the location, setup and venue was totally disappointing.
Very poor customer service and very rude and mean manager argued with me over the fact that their food was good and not sitting for hours. They treated us badly and the food was stale and had been sitting for hours. We tried to get a refund but they insisted otherwise.
Very poor quality food , Over priced buffet with less dishes . 0 Seafood
Service is good but the varieties of food have lessened from before and the food quality could use some improvement.
Very slow service, average food. Extreme pricing for menu items.
I gave it a few tries but was always disappointed with the food.
Made me sick twice. I will not go again.
Great quality food. Good for families and events.
Horrible/stinky food, this is the second time i vist with my wife they served 2 to 3 days old food ,some of the items are full of smell, if you want fresh food just visit there on saturdays only that day they made fresh items.. if you want foodpoison just go there on week days and experience. MANAGEMENT ...we suggest you guys shoud only do buffet only in weekend's, and in week days just take orders and make some fresh food for the customers , Regards
Very bad management. The place has a variety of food and a lot of space, but no taste or respect for customers. I believe they should just shutdown that so called restaurant. Tabeer restaurant is so much better, good customer service, tasteful food, fresh hot food. The food at tabeer just shake my taste buds. Its that wonderful. Lal Qila is just a uncomfortable place to go.
I enjoy the variety they have--it's good for the price you pay.
Had my graduation party here. Their service and food was great with a reasonable price! Highly recommend them.
It’s best to go only during Ramadan. Don’t go any other time of the year! Food is only fresh then!! Their tandoori food is decent if that’s all you’re going for. I’m sure buffet food is just heated up and reused the next day!!
Food was ok however the cashier was very rude. Never going back, customer service is as important as food.
Only some of the food is okay and other stuff is just bad and it cost 11 bucks, didn't feel satisfied even though I was full (of regrets), not great value
Worst food, bad customer service. I used to go there a lot but their food is not good anymore. I would rather go to somewhere else.
Great food Excellent customer service
Delicious food i love the buffet good catering and has food that kids will like
The food is really cold and bad , am not advising nobody to visit this place , I can't sleep , my stomach heart all night .
Lal Qila has the worst food I ever eat.If you want to get sick then go for it.I would preferred to go to McDonald’s.
We went for good evening meal with indo-Pak-Chinese food in mind and were pleasantly surprised. Simple and clean surrounding and good variety of authentic dishes buffet style.Service was good! To top it was adjacent Cold Stone Ice Cream.Excellent experience, worth repeating!
Don't go there, I know its a halal buffet but still don't waste your MONEY. Dirty Seating and Carpet. Dinner Plates are chipped. The FOOD is just average for a Pakistani restaurant. I went in today on EID, June 2019 and food was taste less. They we're not making seekh kababs anymore as I was told. And the list goes on. The people who own this restaurant are rude and not courteous, waiters are good but owners have no manners. Food in the trays was cold and dry from being sitting there for a while. I recommend don't waste you time and money.
Good place for the Birthday or family gathering. For booking talk to the owner directly they will take care of you.Weekend menu is very good. Good customer service.
Definitely a hit and miss kinda place. And I'm saying "and" because I frequently come here and I've had days where their food was just superb, bar none; and other times where their food was just garbage. On the good days their food rivals that of top indian/pakistani restaurants, and other times I'd rather have a days old sushi from a gas station. 2 stars for lack of consistency.
Food was unfresh, smelled very bad and tasted rotten. Staff dealing is not good either. There was no variety. FYI: doesn't deserve a single star but had to give one because it wasn't letting me post the comments.
Food very old; service sucks. No cleaning. Worst food on sunday.
Food was great and very tasty. They have a lot of seating so they have no wait at all. Customer service was great.
Hello! I would like to extend my thanks to the management team and staff at Lal Qila for a Fantastic experience. I have experienced Dining and Catering services from this exceptional restaurant. The food was absolutely wonderful - from preperation to presentation!! The food is delicious and full of flavor! The best part is there is endless variety of options. The catering services met above and beyond my expectations. The staff is very polite, professional and served us in a timely manner. Looking forward to dining and eating here in the future! What a great place! Thanks again for taking such good care of my family every single time!!
Not impress with the food quality. Rest room light was not functioning either, biryani is not even like a pulao, kabobs are maybe not made of chicken/meat, meat balls were in no shape rather over cooked
Absolutely amazing food. Went there for lunch and everything was cooked very well. Had many selections to choose from. Buffet was only 14 dollars each. Well worth the money. Would recommend to everyone.
I went to aftari..OVERALL THE TASTE OF FOOD WAS NOT GOOD...THEY JUST TRY TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF DISHES TO ATTRACT CUSTOMERS..BUT HIGH NUMBER OF DISHES IS NOT WORTH IF THE TASTE IS NOT GOOD...THE NUMBER OF DISHES MIGHT BE LESS BUT SHOULD BE TASTY. THE FOOD OR ITEMS PUT IN ..WAS STALE..
This place is absolutely terrible. Food quality has gone down big time. The amount of items has decreased as well. The atomsphere was always bad and food quality was good. Now the food tastes bad too. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere.
Food and customer service was good
The food was cold and didn't taste good. I wouldn't recommend someone to go here
I visited 11th of September. Food was not fresh. I was disappointed.
good buffet. love the traditional Pakistan/ Indian environment. The buffet food was okay. it didn't had any spice flavors. overall, its good for a lunch because the place is quite and peaceful.
I visited this restaurant because a friend suggested that it has good variety. But upon arrival i took a look at the food for the buffet and decided not to eat there. The food looked cold and the restaurant was dirty.
This restaurant is now having DRS Desi Restaurant Syndrom. Whenever Desi food places start to have good business they lower the quality. They don't have as many options now. Food looks and tastes stale. Literally two spoons of rice sitting on a dish is not appealing at all. The owners of Desi restaurants are also crazy about saving money. Despite having good business it is sad to see the whole restaurant being manned by just 2 people. Not going back again.
I went for buffet , travelled some 40 minutes , only to get stale food and I looked so uninteresting, I asked for refund without even sitting and the guy gave me back my money , no questions asked ! He also knew he was serving worst food ! Disgusting Pakistani / Indian people , fool people for money in the name of business !
I visited last Saturday and It was really delicious, I really wanted to go again.
The best time to go there is weekend, that's when the food is fresh. We have had a bad experience few years ago, on a weekday, but now they have new owners, so maybe it's not the case anymore. They have the best barbeque, which is rare for a halal restaurant. The ambiance and overall cleanliness isn't up to the mark, but if food is all that matters to you, it's a good place to go. We have catered from them, the food quality and freshness was excellent!! Honestly speaking, if ambiance matters to you, this isn't a good place for you.
It's a good Pakistani hilal restaurant with different varieties of food . There chinese food is good n specially paya is best rest of it's is ok
Very good place to lunch or dine.
Lal Qila is one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. They have insane amount of variety, indo-pak, & Chinese food. Their best dish in my opinion is the pepper chicken and they have excellent BBQ choices. l drive almost 2 hours just to eat there. For the people complaining that the food is stale you have to go early around 6 or 7 since its buffet. if you are arriving late, closer to 8:30 or 9 phone will be a little stale. But nevertheless amazing food and very reasonable priced.
There are restuarant that when they first open their quality of food is good then the food taste gets worse after years . They cannot maintain the quality which they originally had when they opened. This is one of the restaurants.
Freaking NASTY is an understatement. Food was cold from the day before. Nothing for little kids. Not enough food to choose from. ( one piece of fried chicken). I asked if the food is fresh they said yes. It was a LIE light were off. Asked for water was not brought. Waitress never checked if it’s everything ok. Worst experience.
The food was old and cold. It was not fresh. Please do not go to place. Save your money go to another restaurant get food. The food is trash.
Made a stop on Saturday and found only couple of dishes. We asked the management to serve at least BBQ. In sweet dish, the only option was a rice pudding. WASTE OF MONEY!!! Not Recommending
Food is great and I recommend all my family members to go there. Masood Butt
We went to dinner, the old owners are rude. I told them that a few things were almost not there and the food was cold. She said that it was there. Anyways we decide to eat, the food was in one word TERRIBLE. We gave it a star as their waiter was nice. He needs to get a job some were else.
Oh no, no wonder you are no longer around
The only I have to say about this Restaurant is gastroenteritis and non diarrhea. I have been sitting on the toilet for several hours after eating at lal quila. The food was stale and appeared as though it was used from days before. I paid alot of my hard earned money to enjoy fresh selections. Instead of filling my guests stomachs, lal quila filled our toilets. Clean your restaurant and make the food fresh.
This place is amazing for a casual Dinner or a huge event! I had my high school graduation and it was a blast! I will definitely have my college graduation here too as well as my niece's first birthday! And the food is honestly so delicious! I'm very picky about my food but this place has never failed to exceed my expectations! I love the food here as well as the ambiance of the place! Definitely coming here again and again and again!
Great food fresh tasty and so much choice to eat with friendly management I booked this lunch from Chicago which is game for good food I will honestly say that so much choices Lal Qila provided was amazing
It was an impromptu decision to eat at this restaurant and I am certainly happy that I dined here. There is a bevy of great tasting food and I normally do not like going back for second plate but it was irresistible. The restaurant has plenty of seating so you can bring the whole family and a few extras, especially when each person may have a taste for something different that night. The owners greeted our table and the staff was kind. Nice atmosphere and food!
Almost all the time the food is fresh but sometimes it's not and that's way the 3 stars. Food taste authentic Pakistani/Indian. They also have desi version of Chinese food which is really good when it's fresh.
Nice food collection.
The guy in the front is rude no respect . The food is not fresh
Always a good time, and great food. They're constantly making more food, never a long wait between servings.
I have been going to this restaurant for many years now and I have to say at first it was bad. Over the years the not only has food quality improved greatly but the interior decoration has as well. Would recommend.
Restaurant great people in and out fast your stomach full great food
We really like the new Lal Qila under new ownership. We have been to this restaurant a number of times, and always enjoy the cuisine options. The desi food is delicious, in particular we love the chicken and kabob station where the meat is freshly grilled. The Chinese food is also delectable. This place is perfect for family and big groups.
The food was horrible and cold and stale looking it needs to be shut down
Freaking nasty is an understatement
Owners are very nice and courteous. Food is very good especially the bar b q and the naan section. Good variety of food.
Filthy buffet with stale and old food probably sitting in fridges for days and warmed multiple times(except kabob, tikka and naan). Poor service, dirty glasses. Unbelievable that we were given glasses that were not only not washed but one glass even had leftover water. Absolutely a disgusting dirty place to eat. Its amazing how they are even in the food business. The quality of the food has went down hill for past two years. No only it is all basi food but the number of dishes has also decreased significantly. Absolutely stay away from this place. This is no lal qila of karachi folks.
Very nice
It's best place for Pakistanis Chinese n Indian food lovers. You may have varietyyyy of food n you eat a lot. I like it.
Lal Qila has an exquisite selection of delicious food, ranging from Pakistani to Indian to Chinese. My wife and I really enjoyed how delicious and fresh everything was too. The restaurant is now under new management and the owners have really put in a lot of work to improve it. I certainly recommend it to anyone who is looking for some good, fresh, home-cooked food in a very relaxed and friendly environment.
Food was fresh and tasty on Sunday evening.
I don't understand the bad reviews. My family and I have been there more times than I can count. Firstly, the food is always good. Especially the black pepper chicken! It is constantly replenished and Ive never tasted anything spoiled or rotten or even close to it. The desserts are sparse, its true, so I will take away one star. Maybe these are ppl who complain of horrible things, visited one time and had an isolated bad experience? I just don't understand but I plan to go again soon. Secondly, for a muslim in this country, it is almost unheard of to go out to eat and be able to stop and pray the salawat when it comes in. And I'm not talking about the owners who will give you a rug and a corner in the back of the kitchen. (May Allah also reward the owners who allow that.) but Lal Qila has a musalla. That is wonderful in itself and I applaud them. The atmosphere is nice. A very nice cultural experience. Its loke being whisked iff to..New Dehli. ( Not that Ive ever been but I imagine a place with a mix of cultures and busling streets) And again, Of all the crowds I have to be in, I would rather be in a crowd of believers.
Good service, good food!
Even 1 star is too much. Poor customer service, dirty and ugly. But you can find there really quite spot for prayer.
We recently had an event for my son here and were delighted by the arrangements. Staff is very friendly including the owner. Delicious food with lots of dishes to choose from. Their halwa puris were mouth watering. Guests were very satisfied as well. Restrooms definitely need some cleaning and should be in check. Hence, for this reason giving a 4 star.
Food quality could have been better
Excellent food. Almost everything was cooked to perfection. Went there on a Sunday evening. Clean, tidy, with good table service. Manager/Owners were present all along to ensure quality of service and food was maintained.
I have had the privilege to dine out at lal qila several times and each time I have been delighted. The food is always fresh and delicious.this is a place for all, adults and children...since we like desi food and our children like Chinese,
Good chana chat, And tandoori chicken
First off, we came here twice for Iftari and it was horrible. When I bit into the date, there were INSECT EGGS inside of it!!! The next time we brought our own dates with us. Plus, the food it is too greasy and oily. But the Chinese food is decent.
The service here sucks. There’s one waiter and all they do is give you utensils and your drinks and then you’ll never see them again. The food is cold. Worst experience here.
Best halal food
I went there for a party and the fried fish made me sick. When I went home I throw up everything I ate and had a very bad night. Also the restroom doors were very dirty.
Food was ok but the staff was rude but in the same time the owner was a humble and gentleman. I wish them good luck for the future
They cheap, they wont put food, ask them to bring more food, no one cared, we were 8 people waisted $150.
Very nice neat and tidy place for a Asian , Pakistani and Indian cuisine, freshly cooked huge variety of dishes. Highly recommend. The owner is so nice and staff is so helpful.
Lal Qila is a well maintained Resturant about Asian and Desi Foods. There you can enjoy Buffet with your family and friends. The Resturant have quiet enough space for booking for your meetings, events and cermonies. The staff is very helpful and always trying to give you the best Taste and want you to come back later on.
Very good service.
I don't know from where to start...! I was looking for a restaurant to accommodate 30 people for Lunch. I went here just order the food but they gave me a hall were i can accommodate my entire group. Later I asked them can I make some decoration coz its actually its our Baby's 1st birthday, they said the hall is yours for rest of the day you can do anything you want. We enquired other places they were asking $50 - $70p/hr just for the hall and food is additional, we were really surprised and felt lucky that we ended here at LAL-QILA. 1. Food: It was really awesome great delicious food, they had lot of varieties... Make sure you have enough space to fill your tummy. My friends sat for 3hours but they were unable to taste their entire food varieties :-) and it is HALAL food. (Attached Pictures) 2. Hall: The Hall which they gave us it will easily accommodate more than 50people but it was good enough for our crowd. (Attached Pictures) 3. Staffs are bit busy but if you ask them anything you want they will fulfill your need right on time. 4. Overall experience was good, all my Friends and Guest really appreciated about this place, food, location & ambience. They will book this place for their future programs. THANK YOU LAL-QILA Management
This is one of the worst restaurant I have been to in a long time. On a Friday afternoon I walked in I was the only person in the whole restaurant. I should have known then not to stay in this place. A couple walk in behind me and a 3rd person. The food was all old and not much to look at but since I was trying to go back to work I wanted something quickly. There was no fresh tandoori bread Naan so the guys was making the bread I said to him can you give me bread. he would not give me the bread. I had to call the manager to get some bread. he was making the bread and it was in front of him. She asked him twice before he took one bread (naan) and through it in front of me. Another couple walked in. They said can we have bread Naan and there was no kebab there was no chicken tandoori and the guy wouldn't do anything. I told the couple "you have to talk to the manager he won't give it to you." There was a guy walking around in this whole time. We thought he was customer. He turned out to be the owner. The couples that walked in with me they went to the manager they said "this food is horrible. The food has iron taste to it." Which I agreed with them.they refused to pay for their food. I had to leave so I told the owner I have to go. The owner said to me that he would give $2 discount. We should not have been charged at all. My advice please do not go to this place this is a horrible place. THE FOOD HAS BAD TASTE TO IT.
My family use to go here alot. This place use to be good around 2012 and 2013. They use to have cake and many other desserts and foods. But now it sucks and they took out the chicken on a stick, the skill crane, and now the ice cream. And …
Great food. Delicious and very fresh bbq. Also recommend to try their halwa poris and samosas
Visited here for the iftaar buffet, the some dishes were good and some were mediocre. It is value for money. We pay 14$ to all you can eat halal indian/ Pakistani buffet. They could work on the decor and lighting
Usually the food is good but yesterday-July 8 I went around 9pm and the quality wasn't good. The chicken tikka was cold. When I asked the Spanish cook to make some more, he said "don't eat it". Bad service. Really disappointed in the service I received yesterday.
Food was excellent, delicious, and plentiful with a variety of Indian and Chinese fusion food. The owners were courteous and asked our table multiple times to ensure we were taken care of. The restaurant was quite busy, but not loud and had a nice ambience. We could easily talk amongst ourselves while we were enjoying our food. I have been here multiple times and will definitely go back again. Thank you! -Khalid Mehmood
Nice desi food
This place was good when it first started but now the quality is getting worse and worse. The food variety is also reduced. The price to dine in is going up 80 bucks for 4 people OUCH. The staff are so bad they don't even wash their hands …
Attended a party on Aug. 25th, the food was great. There were lots of items to choose from. It's the first time I've seen a desi restaurant inside a mall. It's usually stand alone or in a plaza.
Food was OK. Priced a bit high. Restraunt is clean and sparious but it is in a rundown section of mall.
Not even worth 1 star. Food was old, bbq chicken had an odor. Buffet food was also old. Pasta was hard. Fried chicken was very dry and hard.
I was a regular customer of Lal Qila but I stopped going there since the quality of foods are degraded. Kabobs, Naan, Goat Curry, Paaya are no longer tasty as before. Previously there were 4 types of kabob available now 2 types max 3 …
Nice service it felt like home, they have a huge variety of food and it tastes very good! You can't go wrong with this restaurant! A++ all the way!
The food was great
Really liked their kabob
اسلام عليكم ورحمة We had an amazing experience. Went there for a ßirthday for my son Ayaz & Maira Khan. Thanks to the whole team Of Lal Qila for providing such an fantastiç & superß service. Never get tired of this place, you have SoO many dishes to taste. The food was extremely good, everyone in our party really enjoyed their meal. Can't wait to find another excuse to go back.
Worst place ever to eat at. Food is always cold and tasteless. Disappointed
The wide-range of choices was endless. Fresh made chicken and naan. No Seafood, and they take a long time to replace their trays in the buffet. A bit costly but worth the money.
Very tasty and good quality food. Very nice accommodation.
When you are hungry, any food is good but when you are at leisure and want to eat good food, you mind and heart picks it. One such place is LalQila @windsor mill Baltimore. Spacious, great host, neat and awesome food one can get for an equally great price. This halal food with the scrumptious kabob, fresh and steamy naan makes you go to this place again and again. May the owners of this place be blessed. By the way, I have been going to this place for at least 3-4 years. Did my son's birthday, attended a couple of party and even a wedding.
Great food but I'd recommend going on the weekends.
It's not the same quality went down on the food
The food was great, but looked a bit old
Don't waste your money please
Foods alright. But convenient location right off the Baltimore beltway.
Food Great, many many options from indo-pak to Chinese and thai food. 4 star only because the restaurant appearance inside is not really that great. It feels dull and unprofessional. But food is great.
Wide variety of delicious food, great seating area (it has separate party rooms that you can rent for occasions), overall amazing place, would definitely go again.
Good food. Love it Attached are my pics from fresh food. They also have live grille. Good customer service.
Just average place, good variety of food.
Horrible food really disappointed. Waste of time and money.
Days old food, served at room temprature
The restaurant started with a bang. They had the largest halal buffet. Since then, the menu is ever shrinking, and the quality of food leaves much to be desired. The place definitely needs a renovation and better daily maintenance. it still is a fairly large halal buffet with good quantity of selections.
Good place for family members and friends and a lot of good food
We went with multiple families, children and grandchildren. Lots of food, with tons of variety from Halal Chinese to biryani, haleem, and of course grilled chicken and naan. There is something for everybody. The items availble during Ramadan were amazing. The wife and I loved it.
Worst customer service.Food was cold. restrooms were very smelly..very bad attitude of staff and so called manager who does not even look manager. They over charged you so make sure check your bill before pay. I won’t recommend this placee
This has been a long overdue review. I’m writing this review because I truly believe that this restaurant should not be in business and should be shut down by the authorities immediately. We went to this restaurant when it opened and I believe it was a Sunday or a weekday not sure. I paid for the whole family and we were seated. First the bathrooms are filthy. The lights were off and there were some people eating. I asked them to turn the lights on, when it should have been done before asking. The food was cold and as all you know that this is a buffet place. I asked the person if it was cooked fresh and I was told yes but all of the food was cold and they were warming up food from probably yesterday. This place is not cheap and everyone pays for their food and therefore They should be getting fresh food. Now I’m not sure how Maryland does it but they need to get their food inspectors out to this place. There were no apologies from the management and I could not even get to speak with one. Since we had family and kids therefore I decided to leave and received my full refund but no apologies. If there were less than one star than I would definitely give this place thar. I’m warning you to stay away from this filthy place.
I took some friends there for dinner last Sunday. As I liked their food before. We drove 35 minuets just to eat. But It was a disappointment. Total waste of time and money. Very poor food selection. Taste was not bad. No Beef items!! Can you imagine having only one dessert item in a buffet?!! Guess what, you are at the right place! Paid about $47 for three people, 3 meals and 2 sodas. And NO Reffil. Not worth at all. I won’t mind paying $7-8 for those foods, not $16. Dark and sad environment. No going there anymore.
