Super lobster
They have fast service and great food. They can accommodate many dietary requirements.
Crabcakes are awesome! Great service too
Chinese food that is very standard and just ok. Good service though.
On of the best places that does sushi!! Great atmosphere and service!! Tanks
Joey Chiu's has attractive surroundings as well as a mesmerizing stream at window . The bar seems to be a growing and lively place for adult dinners. You can get American style or Chinese dishes. Sunday Buffet is popular with a variety of foods. Service is always friendly and you can set your own pace.
Consistently great
I hadn't been here in years. I took one of my BFFs, to Joey Chui's to celebrate her victory over Breast Cancer, and Retirement. I forgot to take photos, because we were having a great time of Sisterly Fellowship. But, the food, ambience, and service was on point!!!
Was there for lunch this afternoon. But before being seated, I walked up to the reception and saw a Chinese woman standing there and asked her if she had a phone charger for my iPhone. She said NO. Right then she received a phone call about some order. So while I was waiting at the reception desk I noticed a iPhone charger on a table behind her. So when she was done with her order, I asked her. Isn't that a iPhone charger behind you? She said its not mine, its the General Managers. I asked her who is the General Manager, she said its MiMi. Whoever that is. I asked her isn't Joey Chiu the owner of this place. She said yes. During the conversation another guy walked up to the counter to speak with her about something else and she began POLITICIZING my charger request with him and DRAWING him into the discussion by saying HE IS A REGULAR here and comes here almost every day. He pulled out a charger from his pocket and left the store. So, 1st she denied she had a charger. Next when I pointed to one she denied it was hers. As the conversation progressed, from her tone and the amount of STUTTER between her sentences, I knew she was HUNTING for WORDS to COVER her initial lie. She is PATHETIC creature. An attitude of this nature where a restaurant is UNCOURTEOUS to its customers goes to show that there is something wrong behind the scenes, such as DISSATISFACTION among employees. I come to this restaurant often so I would consider myself a regular as well. But their CULTURE / ATTITUDE of "You give me EVERYTHING, But we will give you NOTHING" behind the PHONY smiles is something to think about.
Amazing food
Disappointed, went as part of a group and the service was not good at all. The meal was limited to one small piece of each item if it happened to be placed near you you got some. Management refused to supply more food once the table was served. Much to expensive for what was provided.
Delicious lunch and tranquil views of the stream.
Mediocre Chinese food. Very odd waiter. They lost our reservation but still seated us quickly.
This is the best Chinese restaurant in the Baltimore area. No other place comes close. A little pricey but worth it.
The food and service was excellent.
A little pricey for just ok food.
Great food and service !!
Pan seared ahi was very good. We enjoyed the Crispy Shrimp with walnuts. Jumbo size shrimp! The sauce was sweet and tangy which went well with the szechuan green beans.
We love the restaurant n those that take care of us. Easy neighborhood restaurant. Always accommodating.
Large location, good prices, and decent food.
Amazing food and amazing service. You must experience this resturant.
A place to feel right welcome.
Amazing food quality, and amazing service
Good for carry out too. Not the cheapest.
Lovely place to take your love one. Food was delicious. Customer service too was magnificent. Definitely will recommend this place.
Joey Chiu's is an excellent Chinese restaurant. I love eating there. It has ample free parking. From the parking lot, you cross a bridge over a nicely landscaped stream to enter the restaurant. The decor is oriental, and if you're lucky, you can score a table next to the large window overlooking the stream. Once you get seated, they give you fried noodles, Chinese mustard and apricot sauce. The noodles are the wide kind of noodles with little air holes. They are fresh and crisp. The food is fresh and delicious. It tastes like American Chinese food is supposed to taste. I've found that Chinese food in other countries, including Canada, doesn't taste the same as American Chinese food.
I've visited for YEARS...Never mess than a 5 star experience.
Excellent service and always fresh
Very popular local , suburban ,Chinese restaurant with a busy bar , a large dining room and a semi private space off of the dining room for small parties. Food is fresh and tasty .
A hidden jewel in Timonium. Great food, great ambient , great service and great experience.
Good chinese food
Great Asian-American food, friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Great place for a date night!
Very good food, I love the sushi.
Always good
...been coming here for good eats for years, never disappointed. Always great food, big portions, diverse choices, and super friendly staff.
Had my grandmother's birthday here and everything was great. Food was A+
Consistently great food at Joey Chiu's. Friendly, competent wait staff add to the experience. Joey Chiu's is a landmark in this area and deserves to be one.
Great brunch, quite a spread!
Best Chinese Food in Baltimore. Classic recipes that have stood the test of time. Fresh ingredients, tasty dishes. Friendly service. HIGHLY recommended.
Always a great experience! Known Joey for 35 years thru all his restaurants. He and his family provide a wonderful experience
Not cheap but very good food.
Best Chinese food in the area! Great menu variety.
Great food and reasonable drink prices.
bad service, mediocre food!,,,,, won't recomend !!! There are better chines restaurant at a lesser price without the serving attitude
Excellent traditional Chinese
Great chinese food. The decor is a little dated but service and food are always awesome
Good food, and the owner is a fun guy to talk to.
Joey Chiu's is a nice place with good service and delicious food. While not cheap, it is not unreasonably expensive for the quality.
Very good food, Excellent service
Excellent food, service and great ambiance!
Just O K. Food tasted burnt/ smoke. Flavor off. Greasy shrimp tempora
Great food and service. No hurry and attentive. Food waschit, delicious and plentiful
Excellent food nice atmosphere
Thought it would be packed during lunchtime considering how busy the parking lot was, but no wait! Awesome sushi and great service. Cozy around the holidays for sure!
April is awesome!
Great American Chinese food with friendly staff. Make sure they know you want to take your food home or they will grab it off your plate without asking. Unfortunately I was saving a little bit use the restroom and it was gone
Love this place! Great food, so fresh.
Good food, nice size portions and great service.
Shrimp fried rice is full of flavor and everything is well prepared. I loved the service.
Best Easter buffet. We go every year
Great food in a lovely setting. We ate early (5:30) on a Thursday and were ahead of the crowd.
Good food good price
The food and service was great.
Beautiful setting, inviting dining atmosphere. Delicious brunch
Great food and Sunday brunch I love
Crispy Duck, marinated in 5 spices, deep fried... found it here after many and long time searching in other Chinese Restaurants in the area since Bamboo House closed down many years ago. Taste good as the old days: keep it up Mr. Joey (Jr.)
Tucked away in a beautiful wooded location, Greenspring Station, Joey Chui's has been in there forever. Try to get a table in the front so you can see the beautiful brook. The restaurant has aged gracefully and kept up with the times; they serve sushi
Some of the best food in town. Keep patronizing! It was not crowded! I want to see Joey Chiu's packed with customers on a Saturday! Great food. Great service.
The food was quite lovely. My only criticism is that the staff took away the table snack wontons while I was still eating them. But everything was delicious.
Very beautiful view of the creek
Love the spicy seafood soup and lobster roll made with 1.5 lb whole main lobster
Great Brunch and very good service.
Great place to eat with family or friends. Food was good & fresh
A great, warm and inviting atmosphere with great Chinese food. I had the Peking duck and it was more than enough for the three people sharing it. It was delicious.
My family and I ate there in person and it was wonderful food and great service. Because of the initial great experience we decided to order out today for take-out. We ordered the same dish-Crispy Beef with no spice. I ordered it at the restaurant and waited. We took it home and oh, boy, what a horrible surprise. The beef must have been cooked three hours ago. Chewy and tough. The vegetables were limp and mushy. The only good thing was the rice. NO MORE orders for you Joey Chiu.
The food is very good here. The service is great! I would recommend this place!
The BEST sweet & sour chicken - hands down. Nice portions of chicken and rice, never can eat it all.
This would definitely be considered "upscale" Chinese food, and although it is more pricey, it is worth it
Food quality resembles fast food. Not a good place if you're looking for traditional Chinese food.
Always great service at the bar and best Chinese food around. Not a cheap takeout restaurant.
Best Chinese food in Maryland. Love this place. Always consistent, always great!
I find the food here average at best. On the good side, the atmosphere is nice and the staff is friendly. The place is usually not too crowded so it works well for a business lunch when it is important to be heard. On the downside, the sauces often overpower the dishes, the sushi is average, and the potstickers lack structural integrity. Also, the prices tend toward the high side.
Good place for a party, food isn't greasy, with the trip
Best local carry out and dine in a Chinese meals. With a nice bar area and window or booth seating.
Favorite Sunday brunch place. Highly recommend.
Not too bad. We went there for brunch. The options were limited. They do have unlimited mismosa and bloody mary but still not worth the price.
great food and service
Good combo lo mein, excellant egg rolls
Pork was dry.Way to much sodium (msg)
Food was okay , service was appalling. The worst service I've ever had anywhere, except maybe an inner city McDonald's drive thru, pre-2008. Still waiting for my miso soup - at least it wasn't on the check.
Food was ok. The fried rice dinner was tasteless, the salmon salad was ok but I ask for hard boil eggs and they said no they dont have. However they had egg in fried rice and egg drop soup....so I'm not understanding what the issue was. The coconut shrimp was good and the fried spicy chicken wasnt tasty. Their service was good and food came out fast. For it to be a fancy restaurant you've have thought the food would've been better.
Always great and prompt service, wonderful and delicious food. Nice variety of foods for all food preferences and restrictions. Many choices of food. Nice and inexpensive dinner choice of a restaurant with generous portions to share or take home for lunch.
The place is upscale inside and out, but the food was barely on par with our local (very mediocre) Chinese takeout place. I've all but given up on finding decent Chinese food here in Baltimore since moving from Philadelphia. The lemon chicken had a nice sauce but the chicken itself tasted very low quality and was not crispy at all. The home style bean curd had a very delicious sauce and was overall the best dish we had. The crab Rangoon had a nice crunchy texture, but the filling was almost entirely crab; we usually come to expect a nice balance of flavor with plenty of cream cheese - we ended up scraping out half of the filling and dipping heavily in the sauce. If you love crab, go for it! The Spring Rolls had a nice crunch as well but the cabbage and carrots in the filling were cut too thick, so the rolls were not as delicate as at other restaurants. The server was attentive and friendly, and the ambiance was nice, but don't expect the quality of food to match the surroundings.
Pretty good food. Very blown away by the service and the sesame chicken. Will definitely have to come back when I'm in the area again
Ambience is nice. Food is good but overpriced.
Awesome food and service. We were celebrating my husband's 81st Birthday and he enjoyed speaking with our charming waitress.
Nice atmosphere, good service. Food was delicious.
Always good! Shrimp toast is the best!
Wonder food in timely manner (had to meet a deadline!) BUT terrific flavors, quantity and service! Yum!
Always Delicious
The food is great but the bar is off the chain you got to love that drinks
A great spread.
I’ve been wanting to try for a while. Very disappointing food.
Great atmosphere ,menu, and cuisine for decades !
my wife and i tried this place for the first time last week and I must say never again. The problem we had was the food stunk the broccoli smelled horrible the beef and chicken smelled horrible I mentioned it to the waitress and they replaced it but it still smelled disgusting so we finished our drinks and paid the bill and decided to leave i really believe they we’re trying to sell bad meat I hope I’m wrong.
Im looking for a new chineese rsteraunt. Place is a bit well golf clubish and if you an get over this the food is pretty good, but a bit salty. Ill be back and try a couple more times
Love there food. Sunday brunch is good too.
Always great food ....amazing venue.... wonderful customer service!
Sushi was fresh. Service was very quick and friendly. If I lived closer, I would definitely visit often.
Great place to eat meet friends a little pricey
Lovely ambience, great food and very quick service! It's located right outside Johns Hopkins green spring station which is great for the people who work or visit there!
Delicious. Great atmosphere.
Decor is nice I guess, but the food and prices are actual trash. Maybe it was better before, but the new chef is horrendous. They pretend to have some authentic Chinese dishes on the menu but the Fish fragrant eggplant (yuxiang qiezi) tastes like they poured brown water with garlic on boiled eggplant. The sushi is dry, the dumplings fall apart yet the meat inside is hard as a rock. Don’t go here, ever.
A little more than most Chinese places, but well worth it!
We arrived at 9:30pm and were still greeted warmly and served dinner.
Food was good but service was poor...
Best Chinese food ever it's a little pricey but totally worth every penny so if you want the best Chinese food you have ever eaten this is the place sooo good yum yum!!!
So I really wish restaurants would update their own websites! Me and my wife went here several months ago just after 11am and had their Brunch Buffet on a Sunday. I believe at the time it was a holiday weekend, not sure which and we some how found out about their buffet. We checked their website and it showed a Brunch Buffet every Sunday with even it's own dedicated page with everything that is included, including alcohol with the regular price listed and special prices for holidays. They have the link to the buffet page labeled as, Baltimore's Best Brunch every Sunday. So we went and the food was really good. I call today 07/14/19 to ask a question and verify they have the buffet and a gentleman who was hard to understand answers the phone. I ask about if we needed reservations or not and the time and he said, oh sorry, no brunch today, only one time for holiday. I say oh ok, on your website it shows brunch every Sunday with the price and everything that's included. He says oh sorry, no brunch today was only one time before for holiday. Sorry. So what I don't understand is if this was a one time only special for one holiday before and we just happened to catch it that day, why does their website show regular prices for their "every Sunday Brunch Buffet" and even special holiday prices where it says special foods those days. Not to mention why does their website still have the info on it at all. It has been several months since we went and they haven't changed it?! Most confusing is being told today it was only one time for one holiday yet the site has a whole section dedicated to this every Sunday brunch buffet and when we went they were very organized for it being a one time event. Plus the site even says, Baltimore's Best Brunch every Sunday.....
The absolutely best steak I've ever had! The Chinese food is fine, too. But that steak!
Nice atmosphere upon arrival. The greeters werr friendly and made us feel welcome. This was our first time and enjoyed every moment. We were instantly given water while we got menus. We barely had a chance to look over the menu for drinks before being asked what we wanted, also it was hard to order when only alcoholic beverages were only printed on the menu. The tea was not sweetened at all, even though I asked. We ordered and food came out quickly and well worth the wait. We will be back.
We had appetizers rather than ordering 3 full sized meals and everything was good except that the wontons and potstickers were cooler than expected like they had been cooked in advance. The tuna tataki, crab wontons, and tako su were all excellent though.
Always delicious! Always great service with a smile! Always clean! Best choice of my day! Shrimp lo mein, vegetable pan fried dumplings, calamari, and cashew chicken My Lord Jesus! Absolutely divine! Absolutely everything!
A locally popular spot for a Sunday brunch.
Excellent service and excellent food !
Great service. Not enough healthy, low salt, low fat choices. Good grilled salmon salad.
Fresh good, beautiful ambience and prices are comparable.
Some of the best Chinese food in the area, hands down. Get their Hot and Sour soup!
Excellent dining experience, fantastic and extensive menu, gorgeous ambiance, friendly and courteous owners and waitstaff
Maybe they have a new cook? I ordered off of door dash and I thought that the product would be upscale and delicious based off of the rediculously high prices. Wrong, it tasted so bad that we couldn’t even finish it, ended up ordering more delivery from a different place. The portions are very small for the price.
A great deal for pretty good Chinese. Way better option than PF Chang.
lOVE jOEY...THE FOOD IS ALWAYS AWESOME....SERVICE IS PERFECT..... NEVER A BAD ANYTHING ......ALWAYS A PLEASURE....
Great service.... Great Food!!! Bar is so fun..... I'm a little over 50 and fit right in. Welcoming.
Enjoyed my brunch! Unlimited mamosa . To bad I had to drive home
We went for lunch yesterday and everything was so good. I ordered the crab and asparagus soup. It came out nice and hot with nice big chunks of jumbo crab meat. It was amazing! My entree was the General Tso's shrimp. The shrimp were large and cooked to perfection.
Our favorite Chinese Restaurant! Staff and service always GREAT! A++
Great appetizer, green bean roll, and entrees.Higher priced.
Traditional old world Chinese restaurant with an Upgraded menu and Friendly staff. We usually dine in NYC's Chinatowns, this was a pleasant flashback to the Chinese restaurants of my youth with an upscale twist.
Loved it!
Everything was beyond expectation. There is nothing better then joey chiu
Lobsta Roll!!! Great service from the bartenders!
Good food. Nice atmosphere.
I have not found a Chinese restaurant in the Baltimore area which does authentic Chinese dishes, but I think this is the closest tou will come. Do not order the soup dumplings (Xiao Long Bao)...they are horrible!
Hand such a great first time on Father's Day! The food is amazing!
Horrible service. Will never go back!
Outstanding food, very good service but a bit pricey $$$$
Great space to spend time with my sweetheart
Excellent eggplant. Ab
Party of 6 on Friday night, all pleased, raw oysters were huge, tempura dipped broccoli good.
A bit pricy but really good food and great service.
Great food and atmosphere
Food was very good and fresh. It was ashame that I had to hunt down our server
Great service very good food always an enjoyable time
Friendly prompt service. Carry out/Eat in, spacious parking lot, handicap accessible. The food is fresh, delicious. The shrimp and vegetables were excellent.
Service was a bit odd but food was delicious.
I had no idea this place exsisted until last weekend. I had take out from here for the first time. I had the orange chicken and it was so good!!! I plan on going here and eat in the dining room now that I know about this place. If the take out is this good, then the dining experience must be just as good!
I've gotten carryout there or their other restaurant, Bamboo House, for over 25 yrs. This is the first time I was disappointed in the shrimp with broccoli in the white sauce. The rice had the frozen carrots. For what they charge, that was a disappointment. The Moo Shoo veggie dish with pancakes and hoisen sauce was still delish. Joey, don't compromise your excellent food please.
It has a good selection of Oriental foods and decent prices.
Enjoyed the egg drop soup.
