REVIEWS OF Gourmet Inspirations IN Maryland

Courtney Swisher

Had an exceptional meal here and genuinely lovely service. The food is great, we ordered both dim sum and off the menu. The staff were so kind to us when we needed a high chair for the baby and took a moment to make sure our order was exactly correct. We lingered a little too long after lunch, no one said anything to us and staff kept bringing us water and tea. I would absolutely eat here again, the food is delicious, but even more so because of the fantastic staff.

Christine Servando

Their dim sum menu is authentic and so good! Growing up in an Asian household we were always on the hunt for a traditional Chinese restaurant that served dim sum and I have finally found a replacement restaurant after Oriental East closed their shop. It is even better! The restaurant is well kept and clean. The service is always spot on and they are not stingy with the portions. Gourmet Inspirations is has quickly become a staple in my dining options!

Excellent

George Silvas

Authentic Cantonese cuisine. Great Dim Sum Tasty, tasty, tasty

Daniel p

Good place to eat dim sum on the weekend is pretty crowded but I have came here since the early 90s. It has change ownership since but the food is great

Rosa Cruz

Good place. Busy day so a little slow on the service. Most of the servers did speak fluent English tho. Dim Sum choices were much more limited than other places.

Elisa Ferrante

This place rocks. Not much variety but the dim sum is great. They come around with the cart and you pick out what you like. Very popular so there could be a long wait when it's busy.

Patricia R

This hidden spot is popular for its dim sum. Be ready to wait on popular days.

朱君玺

The Dim sum here is great!

alex cho

Food is simple if that is what you like. Overall for me very average.

Arsene Lupin

Nice food. BUT, slow. Not much food was on offer, and slow rounds. Had only 1 round of food.

Sara O'Brien

We love this place. I'm actually a bit picky about eating out. They are clean, friendly, and the food is delicious. The owner and his son are very friendly and respectful. They already have our order memorized and their carry out service is good.

Beni Dakar

Excellent food, quality service, and reasonable prices. Great for a date, anniversaries, and family gatherings.

Heather Carroll-Fisher

Delicious; love the pineapple buns.

Anna Chen

Good, but some of the dimsum was cold

Will Giang

Good for dimsum, lunch, or dinner! Parking is the only complaint from me, but other than that the food is good!

Arun Hari

I am amazed by the quality of food here. Been here on a Sunday and it is an experience I have never had anywhere. You wait to seated if you are not smart enough to reserve your seats. BUT it’s WORT the wait I tell you. When seated, you have a small card placed on the table for marking items. Then you have mini roller carts passing through and stopping by and you may look at the it ms and pick up the ones of your choice. This is awesome. You look and decide the appeal and quantity you wish. This is an opportunity to try different ones. Nothing is over oily or dripping of salty soy sauce. All tastes so right. Definitely will visit again.

Thu Pham

The dim sum here was only ok. Everything was a little too sweet. I wouldn't come back here for Dim Dum.

C M

The owners are great! Definitely try this restaurant.

Raymond Lee

Great food and service. DIM Sum is particularly good.

John Mahaney

I've only been here once for dim sum and the food was exactly what I expected. Everything was tasty and I wanted more. I would give it 5 stars but I felt we were overlooked by the staff passing by us with the carts. Some would come by and offer everything they had while the majority looked at our table and kept walking. I had to ask them over and over for certain carts to please stop by because they were carrying items we wanted to try. All in all I wouldn't hesitate to go back. I loved their food and the hot oil was perfect compared to other places I've been.

Tony B

Excellent food. Many authentic Chinese dishes. Bring some quarters for street or lot parking during the daytime. Please remember if you're going out these are your neighbors, respect one another! Slow down enjoy your time.

Richard DeHaven

This place is where my girl wants to go for dimaum every time she visits from New York! Saturday and Sunday service is done by cart, all the flavors are really good and the décor is nice. Price is pretty good too, ideal party size is multiples of 3, so you can get lots of dishes!!!

Michelle Ho

Great dim sum! Staff is friendly and the place is clean. I arrived close to 11 on a Sunday and there was no wait. I am unclear of parking availability, it appears there is a small lot in front of the restaurant for maybe 6 spots only. Alternatively, you can get to the restaurant through metro, it is about a 10 minutes walk from the Wheaton station.

Elsie Mo

This place is NOTHING like the photos. The place looks old and half the cups were dirty at our 2 big tables (24 people total). The workers are so rude. We were early for our reservations and gave us an attitude to leave and come back later. When we were finishing the meal, we didn't have a chance to finish packing the left overs and they threw away some food. Then whatever reason they decided it was ok to take food they THREW into the DIRTY DISHES BACK ONTO OUR TABLE. It's repolsive and I will not go back.

tomonori takahashi

Very clean restaurant and nice staffs. The lady who is one of server with dim sum wagon was very good. Spend very nice time. Foods are good but not excellent. Some steamed dim sum dishes were over cooked. But overall, nice restaurant. Will come again.

MacLean Keller

Dim sum was great and shumai was especially delicious

Rui Li

This place has great ambience and excellent food even for NYC standards. I always take friends here when they visit. There's nothing bad this place except for the long lines. But as the saying goes, if the line is short, the food probably sucks.

Q

Solid Dim Sum place with a good value. Get there at opening to insure getting a table - even more so on holidays!

Jane Shih

Tasty authentic Chinese Cantonese cuisine!! Always a dependable choice.

Brian Wong

Always good and consistent quality. Dim sum options might not be vast, but always excel at what they do serve.

Chi Kang

Compare to most location, not nearly as crowded or long lines. Food is pretty good (minus the egg custard bun), but I did notice most items are $4 which is bit more expensive than other ones in the area. On Saturday and Sundays prior to noon we haven't had any wait grabbing a table for 4 or 10 people.

Kevin Wang

They did not tell us that they use the same cookware that has peanut oil on other dishes. As a result, my brother got a peanut allergic reaction.

Len King

Good sushi, horrible parking.

Hyun Jung Kim

Always good food

Wayne Zhang

Good traditional Chinese Restaurant. Great tasty food and price is also very reasonable!

Twanna Spurgeon

The staff and the food was great. it is great for events. They have a dance floor and a stage.

Kevin Wong

1. Service - Quick, friendly, & attentive. 2. Taste of food and quality of food - Great Cantonese place. Also great for dim sum on the weekends. Portion size was just enough & not too salty. 3. Ambiance/decor - Noisy when busy. 4. Cleanliness - Looked & felt clean throughout.

Michael Lawrence

Food was great. Service was quick and very pleasant. Our table could have been cleaned up more, but that wasn't a big deal.

Joseph Alfandre

Classic Chinese dinner with some creative dishes like crispy duck stuffed with taro. Very tasty. Wonderful size and decor. Excellent service. We had 9 and each had something different. I want to go back for lunch dim sum.

Alex Doan

They have very delicious dimsum dishes, much better than those in Falls Church area. The food is fresh and tasty. The restaurant is very clean. I'll come back again. There is meter parking next to the restaurant but it can be filled very quick.

Kevin Barth

This has become one of our family's go-to places. The menu is broad and very different from the "pick a protein, pick a sauce" you find at the majority of Chinese restaurants in this area. I have been introduced to many new dishes here and with few exceptions have enjoyed them all. The place is simply but attractively decorated and well-lit without being glaring. It is never empty when we go, but it is rarely even close to full either; something I attribute to the fact that parking is very limited and you may wind up having to park a block or two down the street wherever you can find a space. They would probably do better business if they had more parking, but this is downtown Wheaton so you take what you can get. The staff has always greeted us in a friendly manner, and there's never been a wait to be seated. I wish I could say the service once you have ordered is always this prompt, but unfortunately it is a mixed bag. Sometimes you do have to wait quite a while before all the dishes have been brought out. Which is a problem when you have a mixed group of vegetarian and non-vegetarian diners and everything they have brought out has meat in it. The kitchen could really use a little bit of work on better scheduling their cooking time so that all the dishes are ready at the same time. The quality of the food, however, raises few objections. We've all tried a wide variety of dishes, and with few exceptions have enjoyed everything we have ordered. I'm personally not a big fan of their soups, as I find them rather Bland and watery. Everything else I've tried, from appetizers to hot pots to noodle dishes and stir fries have been uniformly excellent and frequently surprising. This is definitely not your average hole-in-the-wall Americanized Chinese restaurant.

Khoi Nguyen

Love coming here for dim sum. They recently gave this place a complete remodel. New chairs, table cloth, staff, clean bathrooms. Huge fan of their dim sum. Just like any other location you can order from the menu or from the folks with the carts. Food here you can tell is cooked fresh. There isn't an overload of MSG and prices are fair like other competitors. Only reason why I'm not giving them a higher score is because the constant rotation of carts and untrained staff was ticking my party and I off. The same cart shouldn't be coming around 4 times. If your looking for a good dim sum spot and you don't want to drive to Oriental east or Silver Fountain this is the spot.

Elaine Leow

Great service!

Khamil Ruiz

simply delicious

Chak Beh

One of a few places for Chinese wedding banquet dinner.

Joohee Choi

Weekend mornings are best time to visit

Paul M.

Ok dim sum. Not enough variety.

CP Chiang

second time over here for lunch in 2 weeks. we ordered 3 dishes with soup, Vietnamese spring roll and 3 dim sum small dishes for 4 persons. The food is okay, but the soup (mustard with pork soup) is excellent. Gave them 4 stars because it is quiet and comfortable during the weekday.

Tri N

Cons, in transactions order: 1) Very, very limited parking. 2) Long wait to be seated. 3) Almost everyone working there were rude. 4) Attempted to charge extra items that didn't order. Pro: the food was just alright, not that great. Bottom line: we will not go back.

Wesley Castellanos

The food was excellent as always but they forgot my steamed chicken buns and I've waited for 2 hours to get it. Before the delivery person leaves always check to make sure your orders are all there.

JoAnn Hughbanks

One of the best places to get dim sum in the area. Very fresh, appropriately sized portions and super attentive staff. Deducting one star for lack of variety at times and sometimes slow pace of rotation, but otherwise a 5-star experience.

Kawa Lau

Great place does Chinese food.

Hugh Zhao

Looking for some authentic dim sum? You've come to the right place. Excellent service, great value, just expect a wait.

Cobun Zweifel-Keegan

Great dim sum and friendly service!

vibee dao

The food is great!

Bernadette Alisantosa

Love the dim sum in this place. Variety of choices.

Wing Tang

Food was OK, but the service was great. Large dinning room and is a little pricey. But the price for the Family Dinner is reasonable.

Thien Vu

Cheap and Decent dim sum spot.

jan marc bautista

Great food and great service

David Munk

Service for dimsum was dismal!

Nate Gottfried

When Good Fortune closed for remodeling, my partner and I were hard-pressed to find our new favorite local dim sum place, despite there being so many options in the area. So when Gourmet Inspirations finally re-opened, we entered cautiously. In addition to the (long overdue) modernized decor and comfortable seating, we also found that the food had gotten even better. The wide array of dim sum options are constantly coming around on carts, no matter what time you dine. When we didn't quite see the buns we were looking for, one server put in an order and brought them out to us quickly - and nice and hot and freshly made. Gourmet Inspirations has once again become our favorite local dim sum place. Try their drinks, too -- fantastic tiki drink options are much better than their cheap prices might imply.

Gene OBrien

Hands down the best Asian spot in Montgomery County MD. Family run and after a few years, the place looks as clean as the day they opened. Another family has a Vietnamese menu on the other half of the building. They are so nice they let us order from both and sit where we like. I have taken friends here from all over Maryland and they will now make the hour plus drive to eat here.

Dinh N.

Parking is tough around here but there is a coin operated lot next door and street parking that you can pay by credit cards. If you want to use a parking app, that's also available. You can park across the street in the bank of America lot around the rim. Wait is very short if at all. Good food!! And hot.

Jay Leach

Kinda shocked how bad this place was considering the positive reviews. Bad service and boring food.

Kenny Wong

Best dim sum in the Wheaton area. Just as good or even better than Silver Fountain. A lot of their most popular dishes are made in house especially their hot mini roast pork buns.

Pete Perry

Best dim sum in the Washington Metro area! Delicious and authentic cooking. Service is attentive.

abdoulaye haidara

I went here for a birthday party, so I wasn't really excepting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. They sat me and my friends quickly to our table, gave us our food asap, and the food tasted amazing. Would I reccomend this place/go here again? Definitely.

Helder Toste

Dim Sum is bae. Eat here, love yourself <3

The Menendi

Amazing customer service and delicious food.

Pei-Hsuen Liao

So affordable, and really great quality. One of the best in the DMV.

Russell Ottalini

Great dim sum at a reasonable price, but limited variety.

Tai Pham

Food ok if you are not looking for real Catonese Food. Wonton soup is only wonton skin with american chicken broth package taste.

Pablo Martone

First time with friends ...

Jeanette Parker

The selection is limitless. I tried things I've never had/seen before. It's a family business so you're supporting locals. Everything was fresh and tasty. A little something for everyone. Staff was friendly.

Judy O

I love this restaurant. The wait staff was very attentive and the food was delicious. We ordered off the lunch and dim sum menus. Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs because we ended up taking most of it home. The table next to us had a child who had just learned to walk who kept us amused. The place is definitely family friendly.

Randy Reyes

Best dim sum in a 10 mile radius.

Iskender Kutlucinar

Best Chinese food around 20895

Denise Olsen

Food tastes great; Authentic Chinese food; Also serves dim sum (variety of small dishes) during lunch; parking not easy

Songjun Xiao

DO NOT ever try this place. I broke my tooth because their taro cake contained a small piece of stone. And there were not even the slightest apology from the store manager or any people. They even tried to drive me out of the store. Now I need to spend hundred dollars fixing my tooth. Worse experience at any restaurant.

Janet Chiu

Crowded dim sum restaurant...it's crowded because it's one of the best in the DC region. Even ordinary dishes like turnip cake are much better than average.

Alberto Nagano

Very good selection of dimsum, I practically stuffed myself, delicious, friendly, efficient service. You can't ask for more. Love it!!!

J.P. McWatters

This place has great Chinese food. I've done lots of takeout and eaten there and haven't been disappointed.

Philip Lando

Excellent Dim Sum, from carts on weekends. Everything was fresh and made inhouse. Diverse selection, including a few options that were new to me. Best we recall overall in DC area, with helpful servers. Will return to try their interesting and extensive dinner menu.

Henry Wong

Nice, clean Chinese restaurant with dim sum.

Mama Maye

My partner and I went one day to Gourmet Inspirations because we had passed it a couple of times in the car and were feeling adventurous one night. After eating just lo mein and eggplant, we ended up going back twice that same week! The staff is nice (takes a little long to get the check, though), and the food is fantastic. Americanized dishes are great (lo mein and fried rice), but the more authentic dishes are excellent as well (Peking duck, chinese eggplant, mixed vegetables and tofu, etc.). Can't wait to go back and try the dim sum!!

Emily Bartlett

Our visit to Gourmet Inspirations was nice enough, the wait staff weren't amazing and seemed very distracted and the food took a bit to come but the vegtable lo mein was delicious! We ordered a second one just to eat more. I would recommend this place if you are looking for good food and don't mind a somewhat absentee server.

Steven Shofar

Solid Chinese food. Liked everything we've tried so far

Johnny Wong

Nicely renovated Chinese restaurant. Food is pretty good comparatively to other local establishments. Dim sum during weekends get really packed. We usually go here for big family dinners and weddings. Use to be Good Fortune but went through new ownership.

dan lim

Very good foods and dim sim. We usually go here on Sundays for dim sim. They have the carts. You pick what you want as the carts go by. We get some of everything. The shu mai, beef crepes, shrimp crepes, shrimp dumplings, meatballs are all good.

George F

Pretty good. Place is better after renovation. Can also order Vietnamese food from next door.

I-Lin Kuo

Best dim sum in this area. Consistently good over time and category. Excellent egg tarts and rice noodles with beef. My kids will happily eat their vegetables here -- wish I could do so well at home. Low staff turnover so you'll see familiar faces if you become a regular. parking can be a pain.

Yu X

Nice place for some dim sum.

Natasha Thompson

Great, authentic dim sum. The staff was very friendly.

Walter

Delicious food, great service,excellent prices

Wonhyung Ahn

Everyone here is so friendly. The service and all the food here is IMMACULATE.

Vishal Sinha

This has fast become our go to place for good Chinese food! The location is very good and the restaurant is quite big on the inside. When it is super busy (like most weekends), they do host overflow guests in the Vietnamese restaurant next door! Food here is consistently very good and prices are very reasonable too! Dim Sum on the weekends in the main draw here. We like many of the dishes offered on the cart - soy crispy noodles (our absolute favorite), scallion dumplings, pork bun, sticky rice, etc. Some of the dishes disappointed us though like the shumai that had less filling than expected, and shrimp dishes that skimp on the shrimp! From the a la carte menu, we like Orange Chicken, salt and pepper shrimp, noodles, and fried rice. The only thing against this place is the parking - there are barely 6 spots in front of the restaurant, and the county parking next door fils up quickly. Have had to drive around the block a few times to find parking! But definitely at the top of our list for good Chinese and dim sum in the area :)

John Chow

Authentic reasonable priced gourmet chinese food. One of our go to family celebration restaurant. Clean and welll managed, parking can be a challenge if the near by public lot is filled.

Sue Do

Really wanted to love this place but what a disappointment! Service... barely there. Food quality was below average. This just made paying for parking even more annoying.

grace muliawan

I live very close to Gourmet Inpiration and I never been there...but my friend told me that place very good dim sum. .is true ...very good dim sum and fast serviced. .but sorry I forgot to take the picture..

James Tsai

Food with good price

Irving Friend

This is a great Chinese restaurant. They have two kitchens and both are always clean. Plenty of tables and I know they have hosted wedding party's. So if you have a large group they can easily accommodate. There is a decent size public parking lot right beside the restaurant.

jae lee

Pretty good dimsums and very good mapo tofu. I would come again.

Kelly Patterson

Impeccably clean. Phenomenal service. Excellent food. Best shrimp rice roll I've ever had!

Bee Solano

I order food from this place and it was really bad. I called them to ask about the food and all i heard was excuses. All they care is that u pay and if you have any problems then good luck resolving it yourself. Never buying from here again

Dr. Donna A. Dietz

Whole family loves it! We are vegetarians and there are plenty of options for us. Everything is fresh and delicious!

richard pater

Delicious good Dim Sum. Good friendly service

Edward Jin

Overall good dim sum but they tended to put too little fill and too much bread/wraps.

James Wiley

When I complained about the low food quality, the owner got mad and yelled at me. He retorted that cold dimsums were better and “healthier”. The waiter were rude too, but the dimsums are ok in general.

Neville Emmanuel

Wanted Dim Sum, I missed the hours but the food I got was very good. I am going to go back and give them another go. I have no complaints and they where very friendly.

R Yang

Absolutely super delicious. Our order or orang chicken and xo fish fillet are perfectly done. Considering us coming from New Jersey where there are many good Cantonese restaurants, this is still 10-20% better!! We only wish this restaurant can be in New Jersey. My 7 year old ate the whole fish fillet dish without spicy. I’d say that’s the highest praise.

Keb

Came for the morning dim sum, made it right before it got completely packed which was 15mins after opening. Delicious, hot and large variety. More veggies would be nice.

Xiaoxuan Wang

It’s pretty authentic dim sum place. Price is reasonable. If you want avoid crowds, get there early. Weekends open at 10:30 AM.

Trinh Tran

Growing up in a chinese household, I'm always on the lookout for authentic Cantonese cuisine. Food here is superb. Try the crispy whole fish, you won't regret it. Parking is a little difficult but worth it.

Myra Lou Harris

Wonderful Dim Sum! This is the place to go for Dim Sum. Have ordered dinner here many times. Everything is good. The Kingdom Pork Chop is good, eggplant with garlic is very delicious. Go here all the time, and will definitely return.

Adrienne Ellis

One of my favorite dim sum/Chinese restaurant in the dmv area. There are 6 parking spaces in front of the restaurant, street parking if you're lucky, but if it's after hours or the weekend you can park across the street at bank of america. As far as the food goes, it's pretty close to authentic (I grew up going to dim sum in NYC and boston). If you don't see something, the servers are more than happy to get it for you. Food usually isn't too oily and once in a while you'll see something new every few visits. My personal favorites are clams in black bean sauce, my dad loves their tripe, beef chow fun, head on salt baked shrimp, and a delicious dessert egg custard. Every employee that I've encountered has been pleasant or is happy to share their food experience with you. You don't ever feel rushed even when there's a wait. We enjoy getting a pot of jasmine tea (you can pick your flavor out of a few) but they have sodas and other beverages available. We try to go at least twice a month.

Daisy Bernal

Food is excellent but the service not good maybe is not enough help or they need more training for service or customer service but they need definitely to learn something, I been there twice but both times had the same problem they past you by so many times is not easy to call anybody for that reason I don’t think I will be going no time soon. Sorry

willy donis

Excellent food and the price is better

Zach Heng

I was recently told about this place and decided to check it out with my family for some weekend dim sum. Because we're Virginia residents that don't often venture into Maryland, what we didn't know was how popular it was. With the parking lots full and the waiting area stacked, I had a good feeling about the gastronomic adventure we were about to embark on. The aromas, clanking of dishes, carts zooming around the dining room, and loud conversations felt unusually comfortable. Running into some friends that live way out in the Virginia suburbs only raised my expectations. We ordered a bunch of classics like har gow (steamed shrimp dumplings), siu mai (steamed pork dumplings), lo mai gai (sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf), and char siu bao (Baked BBQ Pork Bun)... among a smorgasbord of items. It was our first time here, so of course we had to check out some of the other menu items. We went with Salt & Pepper Soft Shell Crab, Sautéed Snow Pea Leaves, and Beef Chow Fun. Though everything was the bomb dot com, my favorites were the freshly baked BBQ Pork Buns and the Soft-shell Crab. Overall, the food is certainly worth driving 45+ minutes to #TreatYoSelf and the service was as you would expect for a hustling and bustling dim sum restaurant... just don't expect 5-star service. The waitstaff was actually borderline rude with a few under-the-breath sighs and mumbles after various requests. Though as most Asians will tell you, nothing says "authentic" experience like below average service and really awesome food #RealTalk. Also, parking can be a bit challenging with the small parking lot adjacent to the restaurant, the parking lot across the street with unclear signage, and limited street parking, so plan accordingly.

X L

Great food. We got dishes mostly from Dim Sum carts this time, may order off the menu at the next visit. Parking is challenging, need to hunt around the property.

Jean Huynh

Great food, service and always consistent!

Daniel Pedersen

Birthday dinner on a weekday evening. Wide selection with a large variety, great food, large portions, good service and good value. Some of the best Peking Duck we’ve had, and our go-to dishes were also very high end.

Carmel Lee

Extremely popular restaurant. They have dim sum daily. There is a good Cantonese and Hunan variety on the menu. Many Seafood dishes and Chef specials. There is liquor service for the table. Street and small meter parking lot. Parking can be difficult on the weekends. Close to Metro and Wheaton mall. Well lit with two seating areas. Service is fairly quick. The food prices are average for good food.

Mandeep Bal

Great dim sum restaurant. Would definitely go back. Waiters were really helpful navigating the menu.

Gail Maclin

Food is authentic Chinese and very good!

Tina Likness

Good food, prepared quickly and good service. It's a little tough to spot, we passed it once and had to circle back. On street parking as far as I could tell. It filled my dim sum needs.

kenneth lim

Try the walnut shrimp!!'

Samuel Saunders

A great successor to Good fortune

Atchima Klomkaew

The servers were very nice! They kept checking on us and making sure we're okay and apologizing for some food delays. We ordered egg custards but had to wait a bit because they ran out. But they were very nice and kept us transparent about the order. The dimsum was great! I really enjoyed their chicken feet, steamed buns, spare ribs, veggies, and the pork noodle crepes. The price is pretty reasonable. Highly recommend!

Gerald Helfgott

Went there for Dim Sum after my stand by place closed. I enjoyed it very much, I enjoyed even though some of the Dim Sum were different from what I am used to. I will be going back.

Vien Lim

Food is great but parking sucks.

Carlo Eduardo Salem

I missed the dimsum since i came late in the afternoon. Dumplings were okay, lots of meat but wrapping was too heavy. Will definitely come back to try their dimsum

Jamie Tang Chang

Food was average. 1 star for the very very horrible service. There was 1 girl pushing carts that always seemed to ship is, as if on purpose. Another lady pushing carts actually shooed us away when we tried to see what was in the cart since she wasn't able to tell us what was inside. We asked the first girl to please cut the food into halves for us and each time she gave us a nasty look. I guess we asked too many times because after the third time she came over and threw a pair of scissors at us!!! My uncle said to her, hey that's not necessary, we are paying customers! You can't disrespect us and then throw things at us! The owner saw what happened and quickly came over to apologize -- but not in a very nice manner. She said hey, I apologized didn't I? Wow! But after that she started personally pushing the carts to us and announcing each item. Still, won't be going back any time...ever! Parking is horrible and hard to come by. Food was mediocre and then I had indigestion after.

Wai H Mok

Dim sum is very good! Good service!

Jonathan Serneo

Its really nice in the banquet hall. And the food is really good here. The service is great. I would definitely recommend this place.

joann teh

This is our go to Chinese place if we want to entertain guests. The food is unlike the chinese carryout place. The taste is also authentic. I love the salted fish fried rice and their salted spare ribs. Anything you order there would surely tastes great

Jeff Tong

Had an Amazing wedding reception this last Saturday. The food was great and the venue was very attentive to our needs. Everything was just so smooth, we'd recommend this venue to anyone looking to book a large banquet sized event. The music was so easy to setup with our laptop. We only wish that each table had glass cups for wine, unfortunately our 160+ group had one or two tables using plastic wine cups. ps: The dim sum here is one of the best in the area!!

Alphonse MacDonald

Dim sum 365 days a year.

Kingh Singh

This is authentic chinese food NOT CARRYOUT! the service is always great and food is too.

Martina Argueta

Me and my family entered this place and we are greeted badly. We ordered 3 plates. The women/waitress gives us less then 1 minute to order. We were getting really mad at this point. We tried eating fast because they were about to close. But if they really were about to close they would kick us out or not let us in at all. The whole time we were in there she looked at us bad. When we were almost done eating she wanted us to give the money. We are never coming back never again.

Armen Mirzoian

Usually I have low expectations for Chinese restaurants and was pleasantly surprised by this one. Good food. Majority of patrons were ethnic Asians, which was another encouraging sign.

David Pittman

We normally hit up Oriental East for dim sum on the weekend. But reading the stellar reviews for this place (not to mention its close proximity to our home in Wheaton) decided to give this a go. Gourmet Inspirations did not disappoint and is head and shoulders better than Oriental East. First, there's no need to queue up a half hour before the doors open. We showed up at 10:58, and were seated promptly in the main, spacious seating area (there are two). The line for a seat never got more than 10 or so people and turnover was quick. Carts appeared promptly, with food incredibly hot and fresh. The buns were amazing, along with the dumplings and fried dishes. The noodles came out a little later after we had gorged on everything else, so I have no review of those but I imagine they must be as good as everything else. Service was top notch. We didn't feel rushed, servers were quick with refills and apologetic if they weren't. Every one was very patient, but the clientele is decidedly Chinese. We lingered probably far longer than we should have, but it was totally fine. And if you like to have a few drinks with brunch, it's very affordable ($5 Mai tai's and the like). If you think dim sum starts and ends at Oriental East, you're badly mistaken. Give Gourmet Inspirations a try and you'll be pleasantly surprised and maybe become a repeat customer.

Good quality dim sum. Would go again. Manager was very hands on and checked on us regularly. Only down side is parking. There is free parking in front of the restaurant, but your car can get blocked by another customer. Another reason why I wouldn't park there is because I wouldn't want to back out into a busy street. There is street parking and public municipal parking nearby, just not free.

Great service, great selection, reasonable price's and very delicious!

Good Cantonese tea restaurant. The table-side a la carte style means you don't always find what you want though. Difficult to find parking.

Dim sum brunch here was pretty good. Lots of options, lots of people. Inexpensive and all around good experience.

Excellent dim sum and entrees, one of the best choices in the DC area

This place is great! 75 items on the menu. Food tastes as good as the picture looks. We're definitely going back. Great place.

Dim sum was fabulous. Entrees were sub par with spoiled shrimp and slimy saucem

My family always comes here when we want dim sum. They only do the carts on Sunday, but you can order dim sum any day. The food is very good, and I especially love their radish cake (yummy and soft). The service is good, though sometimes you have to wave to get someone's attention. If you want something that's not on the carts or hasn't come around yet, you can always ask the waiter and they'll get it for you from the kitchen. I've never ordered from the actual menu, but they do have live lobsters on site. The place (including bathrooms) is very clean. Parking is a bit confusing. There's very little parking in front of the store, but I wouldn't recommend it. There's free parking for the store across the street at the Bank of America. And metered parking in that area is free on Sundays.
