Awesome bar on md ave if you're in dta check it out it's worth it...even if you just go for one brew.

Michael Stuber

Excellent and fairly authentic Irish food. Great place to get a pint and a pie. Haven't done the seated service, but always have a great time at the bar.

Jennifer German

Need to go back again. Enjoyed Christmas Eve drinks with the family while waiting for our reaervation time nearby.

Scott Thomas

Went in on St Patrick’s Day 2019, noticed the people openly wearing white supremacist/aryan nation shirts, poured our beers out never to return. BEWARE, DO NOT GO HERE if you are black like me!!!!

Priscilla Fisher Rohrer

Atmosphere can't be beat. Very authentic Irish experience with amazing food!

Rachel Swanson

Great food. The corn beef and mash were fantastic as well as the Guinness Chocolate cake with mocha ice cream.

Andra Kai Shaw

Quaint with good bar food. Parking in downtown Annapolis is an issue. Consider parking at the garage and walking over if street parking is not available.

Resa Tobin

Excellent food, with both predictable and unique choices. Great service! Authentic Irish bar tender; gotta love the accent. Free of TVs and ramped up media entertainment giving guests some quality conversation time. Beautiful interior glowing with history which is so evidently characterised in Annapolis. You need to go!

Carl Winkler

Great food and service

Jerry Mahone

Probably not new, but we loved the redesigned dining / bar area in the right side of the restaurant. Food was terrific, and our server was very good.

David K. Helmly Jr.

Irish pub in the heart of Annapolis. Always love the local beers here and the Irish themes are in everything. The love music is always fun!

Daniel Iovine

Great pub with friendly service. Food was excellent. Cheers!

Wes Bedsworth

Excellent Irish food and quick service. The Dexter Burger is absolutely amazing!

Galway Bay is one of our favorites in historic downtown Annapolis. The location, food and people are authentic. Sunday brunch is really good, with a selection of authentic Irish favorites. Highly recommended.

amlohss

Will go back! Excellent GF options and sooo delicious

Bob Cintolo

Excellent food and service!

Paul DeVito

This is a nice restaurant. I really like the menu options and the prices are pretty reasonable. The service was very nice although the food came out way too fast for my liking. I definitely think this is a good place to go if you want decent food in Annapolis.

Thomas Williams -State Police-

Restaurant has been remodeled. Good friendly service. It is an irish pub and the menu reflects this. Food was good.

Wendy Whitetaker

We had a fabulous meal with attentive service. The kitchen knocked each dish out of the park — everything was super delicious. The chef puts his own spin on street food and uses seasonal and fresh ingredients. The guacamole cannoli, just a small part of a dish, requires so many steps to create and is clever and delicious. Highly recommend for celebrations! Thank you. Bravo!

David Hand

Visited the day before St Patrick's day and it was noisy and crowded. A late afternoon dinner was our purpose and had reservations. It still took a bit longer than our reservation time to be seated. The menu is clearly an Irish English style. Six of us had four different dishes and all were good. Had trouble getting waitress attention at times.

Jim Olson

Excellent crab cakes! lots of crab meat in them versus a lot of other places that just have more breading than anything. Great fish and chips!!!

Andrew Brown

Great pub in the heart of Annapolis. The atmosphere was great, food was delicious, and the drinks were mixed well (I had an Earl Grey Old Fashion...loved the mixture of tea and whiskey flavors!) My wife and I both enjoyed our dinner here, and will be back again next time we're in Annapolis!

V Cc

Great irish food, drinks, and service

Jackson Dunitz

Great bar with super friendly and smart bartenders

Christopher Isham

Close to main Street and the downtown madness, but far enough away that you are not sitting with hundreds of jort wearing tourists, with their boxes of fudge and Kilwins ice cream mustaches. Their winter egg nog menue is a must try.

Jeffrey Sampson

Started off a little slow but ended up being a great experience. Best Shepherd's Pie I've had in a long time. Looking forward to going again

Vacationing in Ocean City, my boyfriend and I swung into Galway Bay for lunch while visiting Annapolis for the day. What we found was an intimate atmosphere and were welcomed to make ourselves comfortable at the bar. The attitude of front room was peaceful. We had no problems engaging the bartender, Mark, while also getting down to business... lunch! Cold beers on tap were delivered swiftly and deftly by Mark so we could concentrate on the menu. I absolutely NEEDED the Irish Curry Fries. They were simply intoxicating. It’s like regular brown gravy, just with that aromatic, exotic kick of brown curry. Jim decided on the Half n Half which is a half sandwich consisting of pecan-smoked bacon, tomatoes and three rich and creamy cheeses and a half cup of tomato-whiskey soup! It was more like a bisque, to me, but it was phenomenal! Whoever decided that adding whiskey to tomato soup is a genius. And the three cheeses, including Dubliner, on the sandwich made the two comrades culinarily inseparable. The combination was pure bliss. In addition to my curry fries, I had the Dexter. This behemoth, I’m guessing at least 1/3lb, was cooked to a prefect medium on a brioche bun. Yessir! Let’s go! The food aside made the visit to Galway Bay fun enough, but it was the interaction and engagement of the bartender, Mark, that truly left an impression with us. I love talking to natives where I visit and look forward to finding out their favorite picks for craft beer and fine bourbons (whiskeys). Mark had a ton of good calls for bourbons that the bar had just recently acquired. Another conversation steered toward Irish Whiskey Flights! Well, it IS an Irish Pub. What better way to spike a interest in fine Irish Whiskeys than doing a flight of Midleton? They have vary rare, something that had to do with the trees that make the barrels the whiskey is aged in, and a third that I can’t recall at the moment. But wow! Top shelf tastes for a modest investment on the patrons behalf? Best win! Our visit to Annapolis was eventfully memorable. I would suggest to anyone visiting or locals who haven’t been to definitely enjoy themselves and the great people at Galway Bay!

Kaitlyn Millsap

Fantastic food, Amazing atmosphere, and attentive service!! We couldn't have asked for anything more, we will definately be back!

Scott Kewley

Great crab cakes. Shrimp gumbo was good too!

George Short

Vary friendly place with very good food.

S Fro.

Heaven does exsist and it resides within a grilled cheese and tomato soup.

Carolina Ramirez

Great menu, friendly service, good food

Andrew Blischak

Even if they're busy, the service is still very good. That has always stood out to me. Their food is pretty darn good, as in they actually make the stuff (unlike some places). The interior is cozy and has an aged charm to it. One of the best places around Annapolis IMO.

Sharon Berg

Great Irish pub food and excellent service. Ask to be seated in Omar's section.

Max Doyle

Great pub. We came across it after just moments earlier reminiscing about being in Galway this time last year, and we felt like we had stepped into a pub in actual Galway! The decor was spot on and they had a great selection of Irish whisky and beer. Will definitely stop by again!

Ross Lugasi

Great food and drinks. The staff is awesome.

Rasheeda Phillips

We researched restaurants in Alaska so as not to have to eat in the Princess Lodges every night. So glad we found 229 Parks! What a gem! The food was absolutely spectacular, the best meal of our 12 day vacation hands down. I highly recommend you go here, no matter what the cab ride might cost. Wish I could go back, but it's a long trip from NY!

Katie Thomas

This bar is so cozy and I was so surprised by the excellent quality of the food. It was the best food I’ve ever had at an Irish restaurant. The owner was so nice to us and gracious. We went there both nights we were in town. I’m vegan and gluten free and I had the Curry fries and a veggie burger with a gluten free bun. It was delicious!

Jami Beswick

Great service, great vegetarian boxty! Thank you to the waitress that gave me a few suggestions since I was taking my food to go. Delicious!

Michael Sharp

Very nice, varied menu, friendly helpful staff

Michael Zaslov

Great specials fantastic

Silas Calhoun

Cozy. Staff was very polite. Nice place for a drink and apps with friends

Michael Brown

The potato cake burger on burger night (Mondays) is the best!

Leslie Starr

Great atmosphere, great service, great food

Joanne Quinn

Cute little pub with tasty food, though I wouldn't really call it Irish. They have a side dish of "smashed peas" or something. Don't get excited; they're not mushy peas... they have what they call Irish chips. Again, don't get excited... they're more like a cross between chips and crisps, like chips, except far too thin. They taste decent if you're hungry, but they are far from Irish (or English or Aussie...) chips!

WildWorks by Scott G. Dietz

Been there twice first time had the medieval beef stew and thought it was godly Second time had the pot roast with mushroom gravy. They went light on the gravy and I didn't like it much at first. Asked for more gravy and it was another dish from the heavens Really excellent skills from the kitchen If I could give them a 6 star review I would Gotta try this place

Patricia Valentine

Great food, great service, great atmosphere, great drinks, great music. My favorite neighborhood bar

Magan G McNallen

Excellent crab cakes and whiskey selection.

Angela Katsavavakis

Great place to come on weekends after hours as they remain open till 1 AM and they have a bar menu that is served from 10 PM till 12 PM. The fish and chips were very good, and the corned beef poppers were amazing. Great selection of Irish whiskeys, as well as scotch whiskeys and American whiskeys. Also they carry some Irish gins!! They also offer other liquors, as well as a wine and beer list. Service is fast and friendly.

Woq C.

I live 20 steps from the place. And I feel so lucky that it is so close.

Lisa McKnight

Great adult beverages, great food great service!

Greg Petersen

This place is very authentic and the food was awesome. I highly recommend it!!!

Brian Davis

First time visit - bar was a bit full. Jackets and bottles covering most empty stools. Asked if everything was taken... no response. Decided to leave only to have the locals yell after me... “yeah, bars they have people in them.” Great welcome for an out of town visitor. Scratch this one of the list. So friendly.

Emily Brown

Renovations look beautiful! One of my favorite spots. Menu has been revamped and literally everything I have had I loved. My husband always gets the fish & chips ! We always meet here before going over to the theatre on the next street over. Come to this place!!

Aiden Sensabaugh

Excellent food (especially any type of sea food as it is all right off the bay), very cool Irish atmosphere and extremely nice staff. Would highly recommend Galaway Bay.

Casey Riddle

Casual lunch with friends. The fish and chips were fantastic. The curry fries were a must have appetizer. If you're in the mood for drinks, I highly recommend the high tea old fashioned.

Darlene Schuyler

This is actually our favorite restaurant in Annapolis. Food is outstanding and find the staff to be wonderful. Tried a new drink last night with hot chocolate and eggnog. YUM. One of the best warm drinks I've ever had.

Suzanne Hankins

Great food, great ambiance.

Michael Leonard

Almost like being in Ireland! Great traditional music sessions and an excellent selection of Irish whiskies.

Joseph Meeks

My favorite Irish bar, and bar in general, in Annapolis! My wife and I lived in Europe for a number of years, and this place evokes all of the charms of a classic Irish pub in true European setting. It's got dark woods, Irish memorabilia, a large and well-adorned dining area, consistent live music, and even more than that, an actual Irish owner! This place is a treasure.

marianne schneider

Great short ribs dish, meat tender , flavorful, pulls apart with fork. Veggies fresh and steamed just right, potato mash tasty. Atmosphere, Irish music in background audible but not overpowering conversation..very welcoming in person and in visual aesthetics too.

Sue N. Mike

Lovely place, good food and drink, excellent staff, off Main Street.

Sandra Weinstein

Great food, service and ambiance!

Amanda Rae Noss Smith

Great Irish food. Monday night burger night is a great hit. Get there early to get a good seat in the bar area. Must try restaurant in Annapolis

Tex Ellis

The remodel is really nice. Pleasant atmosphere. Good, friendly service. Reasonably priced wine selection. The vegetarian boxte (steaming vegetables on pancakess) was delicious.

Dave Broscious

Food is quite good and lots of interesting things to choose from... both traditional and more inventive.

Brandy Legg

The food is always great! The corned beef is amazing! The atmosphere is really cozy and welcoming. It's our favorite place to visit in Annapolis! Also, they know how to pour a proper pint of Guinness. :)

Joilyn Gray

The food was delicious! Itbwas very nice. I will be returning❤

Brian M

The "Best" most Authentic Irish Pub in Annapolis. GREAT food, beverages, and Service. Many long time staff. A local jewel and a "Must" for any visitors! Slainte!

Elvin Ridder

Great food and drink. The Shepherds pie was incredible. Delicious and full of meat. Oysters were large, great tasting and good value. Hamburgers were just so juicy and tastefull. Service good Just glad we went.

Chris Holle

Amazing and very welcoming. Try to eat in the bar area... better ambiance.

Brittany Neal

Great drinks, food and service! Would love to come back next time I'm in the Annapolis area.

Christian Sikes

Good beer, good service. It's a nice place for friends and happy hour

Susan Brannigan

Friendly staff, yummy food, perfect Irish pub atmosphere.

Dominic DePetris

The steak was done perfectly and the waitress was awesome! I would want a bigger beer list, but that is just me.

S Gardner

The remodel looks great. Long overdue. I hadn't been here for a while since I came in for fried oysters and they brought a lumpy gooey mess on a plate. Clearly the kitchen, nor the server was aware that this was not what fried oysters look like when prepared correctly. I couldn't believe it made it to the table. Disgusting! Glad things have improved. The interior looks great and was needed.

Frank H

Very nice place, the bartenders were friendly and engaged the groups of customers. Probably as close to an Irish Pub in Ireland that I will ever get to. Very much enjoyed the vegetable potato pancake and the Guinness Stout Draft, highly recommend!

Alexander Laun

One of the best restaurants in Annapolis! Consistently great food with awesome daily specials. There are a few other Irish bars/pubs in the Annapolis area, but nothing compares to Galway Bay. If you’re looking for a place to enjoy a few good drinks and some live music (without the distraction of TVs), this is your go-to place.

Christopher Sikora

Excellent from the moment you walk in the door. Friendly welcome, fast service, great selections, cold beer and delicious food. We had the lamb cheese steak, lamb stew, pub burger and dexter burger. We enjoyed everything. We ordered bread pudding for dessert and my wife can't stop talking about it. Highly recommended!

Julia Kolesnyk

Nice Irish pub in the heart of historic Annapolis. Great place for good food, friends, drinks and pictures. The stuff is super nice and kind. Bathrooms are clean. Bar is not open for brunch.

David Andersen

This restaurant is fantastic! I have been coming here for years around Christmas and the food and service is always excellent. I also always get my half case of Irish eggnog to share with family at the holidays and it is a big hit.

Peter Gelhar

We stopped in for a drink or two. Ordered mixers which were fairly priced while sitting on the quiet side of the pub. Kitschy like most Irish pubs, but has a more authentic feel that most. We really liked it. Service was awesome. We'll definitely return to try the food.

John Arlauskas

Must stop spot if you're in DTA. Amazing food.

Patricia Curtin

Good food. Great ambiance!

Zak Helmick

Best authentic Irish food and atmosphere in town.

jamesa

Best irish coffee anywhere. Food was good great happy hour specials. Liver and onions almost as good as moms.

Victor Smith

Good food, great location enjoyed the music large whiskey list

Joe Hinders

Of course for St Patricks Day! Great food, good beer, great service and of course the best ambiance and annapolis charm for and irish bar!

Caitlin S

The food was so yummy. I had the corn beef and cabbage and the corn beef was like butter. My husband had the All Day Breakfast and he loved it. If you go there and get the All Day Breakfast try it with the Irish Brown Sauce. You will love it.

Deirdre Suddeth

Great food, great bar selection, great service and NO TV! This award winning restaurant offers a true Irish pub experience ( hence no TV). The chef has even trained and researched the menu and ambiance in Ireland. They're also the most socially conscious restaurant I know of in the area, sourcing green and locally and working with Maryland Green Travel and Sustainable Annapolis as well as many other worthy charities and organizations. Support this place that cares about its clients environment not only within their walls.

Gary Brown

Most authentic Irish pub in USA!!

April Dixon

The lamb cheesesteak was AMAZING! The curry fries were delicious!

Kay Graves

A fun place to be with great music and bar snacks

Michael P

Amazing pub. Great food great Guinness

Andrew LeDuc

Truly authentic pub with great atmosphere

Alexander de Burdegala

Had breakfast here with friends before the Chocolate Festival. I had the cornbeef hash with poached eggs and bearnaise sauce. It was fantastic. All of us had great meals would recommend 10/10

Yoram Baxter

Good Irish food with a great local pub feel!!

Thomas Albert

Guineas is great, but how can you screw up Guiness? It's a good Irish Pub/Restaurant, but nothing special. No doubt Galway Bay is the best Irish Pub in Annapolis, but you won't come away saying "This is the best glass of Guiness I've ever had!"

Tracy Waclawski

Went on taco Tuesday and got the French onion soup and two tacos. The soup was terrible, it had no melty cheese on top. The tacos were ok, nothing to write home about. I might have enjoyed it more if I had gone just to drink their rum.

B Schnabel

Very good, food, service, beverages. A hit for 20 years and still going strong.

Jonathan Collum

I have to say if you ever had to be a regular at a bar you'd want to be one here. It is tucked away on a side street of Annapolis with mostly small businesses and homes around it. The drinks are reasonably priced for a solid assortment of beers on tap. The staff is extra friendly and accommodating. The space has a great pub feel. Go here for a drink or dinner and stay for the evening.

Marc Starvaggi

Came here with my family. The crab cakes were fine, nothing special. I didn't get anything to drink.

Jonathan Groger

Great restaurant, but whoever performed there on Sunday (Mother’s Day- Ray Weaver I think?) was terrible. Played his own renditions of obscure songs no one knew, spend half the time talking, shout outs to random members of the crowd, and was rude to several members of the audience. Would love to come back but NOT if he’ll be performing.

Matthew

Great restaurant. The have a Gluten Free menu you can ask for. The food is really good, and the atmosphere is a lot of fun. They have live Irish music sometimes too.

Sherry Cowan

Great atmosphere and great food .Awesome staff.

Tayler Baker

Reasonably priced drinks and great server! Lamb meatballs, crab cakes and mussels were amazing

J A

Good drinks good attitude and the band was pretty good and the singer had a bandolier of harmonicas which is well... Awesome

Michael Clark

Renovated the dining side of the restaurant. It's is much more open and has a small bar in addition to the larger one on the bar side. The crabcake dinner is always good. Soda bread is very good. Staff is always friendly. The chef is always willing to accommodate diet restriction. One of my favorite places to eat in Annapolis!

Simone Ousley

My husband and I just moved to MD and have been having trouble finding some good restaurants... at least until now. We had some errands to run in Annapolis and stopped in here just to get a quick dinner and were instantly impressed. The staff and the atmosphere are awesome. I loved the music and the fact that the walls weren’t plastered with TVs. It made me feel like I was back in Europe! And the food was soooo tasty, and the drink selection was wonderful! I am raving about this place, it’s about to be my new addiction. My husband and I have agreed that even though this place is 40mins away from us it will be a regular eatery for us. Thank you Galway Bay for the great food and service!

Sue Wegrzynek

Excellent food and very friendly!

David Amistadi

The greater Annapolis area has many well-known Irish pubs and restaurants. Galway Bay is one of my two favorite locations. Located in the heart of Annapolis, it is far enough away from Main Street to be convenient yet still get a table with a minimum wait time - if any. The food is great, the wait staff friendly, and they frequently have musicians providing entertainment as you drink and dine. They have recently remodeled, and the place looks great!

Frank Cleveland

Great corned beef.great atmosphere. It's always packed and happy crowds

Peter mcmahan

Nice Irish pub in old Annapolis. Just drinks for us but the fish and chips looked good. Will be ordering them next time we're in. We've had the muscles before and they are very good.

Elaine Ustick

Great atmosphere and food

Hannah Cantolino

I received terribe serive at this restaurant. My waiter told me I was not capable to step down their stairs to go to the bathroom. I felt like a second-class citizen and the service was terrible. I never once recieved a refill on my water and the music was very vulgar.

Ben O’ Leary

Best burger and beer

Lori Lohff

A authentic pub experience with great food .

George Arnold

Great any time of day, but a seriously under-rated Sunday Morning brunch. Labor day weekend, West St and Main St and Market sqaure were PACKED with 1 hr+ waits. Galway? We walked right in, highly recommend the Irish Breakfast, and corned beef breakfast dishes.

Tirzah Draeger

Their staff was absolutely fantastic! The food was some of the best Irish cuisine I've had. Drinks were delicious. Can't wait to come back!

Kaitlin Fish

Galway is my favorite! Delicious food, awesome atmosphere, and the greatest staff ever! Go for Dinner, Happy Hour, Sunday Brunch, anytime! You'll never gave a bad experience.

Greg

Their Dexter Burger was great, and the corned beef sandwich was amazing! HUGE chunks of corned beef. The fries were certainly addicting, fairly light and fluffy in the middle with a nice outside crunch. Their menu options really make you think on what you want, it all looked so good. Staff was friendly, and very accommodating. This is what a great Irish place is supposed to be like.

Jason Samios-Uy

A nice spot in the heart of Annapolis! It gets busy, so make sure you have reservations or get there before the rush! We didn't have reservations but were accommodated immediately with a window seat, even! The server was friendly, fast, and courteous! The food was amazing and we were able to split up our checks easily (just mention it to your server while ordering to give him or her a break!). It seemed like a neighborhood type bar/watering hold but the folks were friendly and the prices are reasonable. Parking can be a pill, of course, but that's anywhere in downtown, historic Annapolis! I highly recommend and will be going back myself!

Andrew Pippa

The atmosphere was cozy and warm, especially in the winter. Great shepherds pie.

Judy Stark

The floor setup has changed since we were last there, and do has the menu but the food was still really good! Hubby had a Ceasar Salad and added corned beef to it. The corn beef is to die for, big lean pieces of yumminess. I had a small plate Beet salad, filled with lots of beets, Mandarin oranges, Walnuts, goat cheese. Hardly any romaine but who cares? Good solid food, can't beat it. And the Eggnog? Well, I could drink that ALL day!

Jeff Mocho

Excellent food great atmosphere super stafd

Lenny Vito

Great beer, atmosphere and service. Could not ask for more.

Paige Derouin

Tomato and Irish whiskey soup is the best tomato soup I’ve ever had! Super cozy Irish pub off of Main Street.

Tommy Bowers

Good drink. Food amd prices are reasonable.

Jared Shoemaker

They took me back to Ireland!

Ben G. Green

Good food, cheap drinks, live music

Rick Ranalli

Waitress was rude and in a rush and the food had no flavor. The Sheppard's Pie was so disappointing. They have a decent size menu but my entire table of five had a less than pleasing meal.

Beth Pulsifer-Anderson

Excellent gluten free options

Cory Price

The one place you absolutely MUST eat at in Annapolis. The atmosphere is fantastic, the food is amazingly wonderful, lots of great events and specials, best pint of Guinness. Wait... Do you like whiskey? EVEN BETTER!! Galway has the best whiskey selection for miles.... I highly recommend Powers. Do NOT miss any chance you can to stop in here, you only do yourself a disservice.

John Howell

Good food and good service but poor uncomfortable seating at the new bar. Would pick a booth or the original bar next time.

Joshua Rice

Favorite Irish pub in the area. Food is great and so is the selection of beer. Very authentic Irish pub atmosphere.

Larry Williams

Great pub atmosphere on the bar side.

Daryl Kupper

One of my favorite places to go for Irish food! Love the Irish Breakfast!

Ian Michael Ferguson

Good spot. Lots of good drinks. Good service.

Bree Northrop

Love it here! As close as it comes to being in Ireland.

Guy Poulin

Great atmosphere Irish coffee was amazing hit the spot...*****

Pushpendra Garg

Irish pub had very nice beers

Eric Smith

Amazing food ! Come for the crab dip, stay for the environment.

Megan Mathews

Love this Pub, our seating was spot on. (With reservations) Appetizers great, except the muscles in tomato sauce bla, potatoe leek soup not so good. Meals perfect, fish & chips really good, burgers too. Desserts awful except the bread pudding which was outstanding. Awesome wait staff perfect. Decorations for Christmas very nice. Bathroom situation is bad, not handicap complient. Two women's stalls one out of order.

Samuel G. Kirby

Lot's of Irish bars in Annapolis and this is also a good one. It's on Maryland Avenue, so a bit quieter than on Main Street and City Dock area. Good pkace fir a Guinness and some pub grub.

Chris Leone

Great atmosphere and staff was friendly and attentive. Looks like a traditional pub you'd find in Ireland. They have gluten free options including gluten free beer.
