I have been coming here since 1999, when they opened their doors. It is selfevent why I keep coming back. The food is outstanding and the staff. I have met the owners and they are very devoted with quest and their employees. When it comes to pricing, they are priced right and this includes alcohol drinks too. I do not have anything bad to say about them and I go there two time a week on average (yes I don't have time to cook). But I will say this, "if it is your birthday" make sure you informed them, take out your cameras. I hope you enjoy this restaurant the way I have over the years.

Bleh. The food was not good. It wasn't seasoned, cooked well, or have anything on it. I ordered steak tacos and it was literally steak in a tortilla and the steak was overcooked and not flavorful at all. I would rather hit up On the Border for "authentic" Mexican food.

I love coming here to eat. It's very authentic. You get chips and salsa as soon as you sit down. The staff is very nice. The frozen drinks are sooooo good. I have tried many different things from the menu and i have never been disappointed. The food is amazing!!!

Good food but it's more TexMex than Mexican. Wish the salsa had more flavor, it's mostly tomato sauce with very little of anything else. Every food on the menu is pretty much covered in cheese but wish they add a hint more garlic and cumin to the mix to give it more of a Mexican taste. The best bang for the buck is the pitcher of margarita for $22.95 makes about 5 drinks and it is NOT watered down, makes you real tipsy for two people. Even though the food is a little bland to be considered Mexican, the margarita makes up for it.

This has been a family favorite of ours for over a decade. In the past couple years this place has gotten SO MUCH BUSIER- but that only confirms how great this restaurant is. Very traditional Mexican food and very reasonable prices! I highly recommend the mango margaritas... and they are SO BIG that it’s like drinking out of a soup bowl! There’s usually a wait for a table, unless you go on a day or a time when there’s not the usual rush. But even when we’ve had to wait, it hasn’t ever been longer than 10 minutes.

Lunchtime service was friendly and fast. Decor is interesting. Sadly, the food was average. On only two small tortillas with a fajitas order. Refried beans were flat. Tomato was not even chopped up. This location used to have better quality food.

My girlfriend and I stopped in after visitng a local produce farm which is close to El Salto. I'm glad we did. First off, you're greeted and warmly welcomed by the staff at the door. The interior is very clean and nicely decorated. Service was prompt and the food arrived HOT and sizzling to the table. The complimentary tortilla chips were warm and the salsa was delicious!! Both of us enjoyed the food and the portions were nice sized and the bill was under $30.00 total for us both. It's an extensive menu with plenty of food and drink options. We definitely will be going back!!!

Not the best Mexican you can get in Baltimore, but tasty none the less. Very friendly wait staff with prompt service. If you are planning to go for Friday or Saturday for dinner, be prepared to wait for a table as this place can get busy.

An oldie but goody. Still one of my favorite spots to hit up when in the area. You can get a lot of food for fairly cheap here. I like their Texas margarita which is like this giant cauldron of margarita and a shot of tequila on the side. My favorite thing of theirs is their rice and beans - its like a comfort food for me. While it's not mindblowing or anything, it is still good in a pinch and good quality food.

We have come here so many times. I love the tacos de cameron, especial de casa and the nachos supremos. The churros are amazing. Their margaritas are delicious too and you can get all that for a reasonable price. This place is legit.

I enthusiastically love this place. I’ve been here a couple times and it’s always wonderful. Sometimes the service is a little slow, but the food is delicious and the restaurant itself is attractive and clean. It’s an amazing Mexican-American eatery, with affordable prices. It’s not super-authentic Mexican good, but most places in America aren’t. El Salto offers a large variety of the typical Americanized Mexican food, and they do it well. Everything I’ve had here, from burritos to salads to nachos and beyond, has been exactly what I wanted. I’m writing this review, I’m craving some of this food and i wish they had a delivery service. It’s great. If you’re looking for Mexican, i think you’ll be very pleased with El Salto.

If you want a mix of quality Mexican food, good service and decent price, look no further. El Salto is my fiance's favorite Mexican restaurant. It is now mine. It is always at the top of the list when we are deciding where to eat for dinner. They have two different types of salsa. The chips are warm and salty. I had the mole chicken which was bursting with flavor. I can't wait to go back.

Love love love love El Saltos! Neighborhood staple that is just fantastic. Their queso and margaritas are great. The staff is always so friendly and nice. It does get very busy around dinner time and they don't take reservations, but definitely worth the wait. Try their huge California Burrito!

Waiter a bit distracted. But food was decent and fairly priced. Large portions. Do yourself a favor, skip the sangria and have a margarita. Also do chicken tacos instead of beef. Plenty of chips and salsa. And we didn't get grief when asking for more. I didn't judge for myself, but was told by others in my party, that the bathrooms were only fair. All in all ok but nothing great.

Waited fifteen minutes without a greeting, another fifteen with no drinks or return from our waitress. Approached the host asking to see our waitress, waited another five minutes and left. Including wait time for table we were there for an hour and never received even a glass of water. No manager, no ownership present on a Friday night - they should be ashamed. Sad - the food is good.

The food was kind of ok. I was hungry and though it lack flavor, it wasn't nasty. The service lacked much to be desired. I was the only one in the restaurant and that should've clued me in that I should have moved on. However, my car was being fixed and my go-to spot was closed. Next time, I'll just get a snack from the convenience store. So, again, I'm the only one in the restaurant but the waitress seems to be rushing me. I'm asking her for explanations of what makes one item different from the next because they have similar ingredients. I'd come in a few minutes too late for the small portion lunches.

A party of four. Got the menu immediately. Then we got to wait five and ten minutes to order drinks. Almost left. Ordered food with drinks. My wife was not pleased. The food was not what it could have been. I got the cheese steak. The meat was thick and gummy. Went at three pm. It was fourth time there. I will not be raving about el salto any time soon. Had to ask three times for the menu.

This is one of my girlfriend's favorite places and for good reason. I got a number 19 (1 taco, 1 quesadilla and one burrito) and it was delicious. My girlfriend got a #29 which was same as mine except replace the quesadilla with an enchilada. Food was great, staff was great, environment was great. We were very please like always.

My kids and I wanted to share time at a restaurant but we had our dog and It was a 100 degree day we could leave him in the car so we ask if our dog could come in and sit with us. This is the second El Salto we've been to and they've both been great. Both times we went on a Friday night so there was a bit of a wait, but it was worth it. I got the Burrito California and it was the length of the platter. This is our "go-to" for Mexican in the Baltimore area.

Love this Mexican place. Service is good, staff is attentive, friendly, polite, & accomodating. The Restrooms get ZERO STARS. Only two stalls in the ladies room. Has the sewer smell in the hall BEFORE you even open the door to the restroom!. NO paper toilet covers are EVER in the holders! CKECK THAT THERE IS tissue even before you close the door, because they are usually VERY low on tissue inside the stalls!!! they REALLY need to consider knocking out a wall it extend the restrooms or remodeling them to create more space or an extra stall. TOO many tables to ONLY have two stalls. Not sure how the men's room is, but its probably worse!!

This is a pretty nice and neat place. My family has done Father's Day and Mother's Day here several times. Food is okay, but it is often times understaffed and difficult to get served when needed.

Went for lunch. Nice embience. Fresh food. Salsa w/ free chips was just sauce, not salsa. Refried beans were fine, if you like them without any seasoning at all. Otherwise chicken fajitas were good. Agree that staff was very nice.
