I have been eating here for almost 15 years. I cannot remember a single time where I have had a bad meal. The pupusas are delicious! The filling is flavorful and the tortilla is delicious with a slight crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. I cannot make these this well at home. Don’t miss the corn tamale as it is sweet and tender. Their fajitas as on point as is the sopa de mariscos (seafood soup). In addition to having fantastic food, their service is top notch and they have a very friendly and attentive staff. I’ve been coming here for years and is my favorite and go to Salvadorean/Mexican restaurant.

We found this spot as a suprise by getting a slurpee near by. This is a gem of a restaurant. The food has so much flavor. My wife finally found a place that makes pupusas she loves. The taco salad is perfect for me with lots of sour cream. The sofapillas are so yum. The pancho villas platter heres the story. If you order this even though it says for two, no way. This is meant to be eaten in groups of 4 unless you didnt eat breakfast. I love eating there left overs. The ribs was the only item that was part let down. Flavor is there but not so much meat. Come hungry and you will come back here

BEWARE VEGETARIANS!! My wife and I have eaten here before and enjoyed the food and margaritas. Last night was the last time we will ever eat here! We are vegetarians and I always order a veggie burrito and a side bean taco. My wife likes to get yucca without dead pig flesh as an appetizer. When I ordered my bean taco the waitress made a disgusted face and said "just beans, you want just beans in your taco?!?!?". For the rest of the night we were ignored by the wait staff, the waitress never checked to see if we wanted another drink or anything else. We even had trouble getting the check at the end of the night. The last straw came after we got home. My wife did not finish her appetizer, so she took home the leftovers. When we got home she warmed it up to eat the rest and found a big chunk of dead pig flesh in the box with the yucca. Maybe it was an accident, maybe it was deliberate, but I think it is inexcusable to put meat in a vegetarian's food. You don't put peanuts in the food of someone with peanut allergies, don't put pork in a kosher meal, and don't put meat in a vegetarian's food. The disgusted reaction of the waitress to my food request, the bad service, and the meat in our food lost them our future business.

I have had the opportunity to dine in a wide variety of restaurants and must say that our recent (first) visit to El Andariego was among our most enjoyable dining experiences! The initial basis for deciding to eat there was primarily its location (Ashton, MD), as we live in Montgomery County and were getting together with friends who live in Howard County; however, we would now recommend it as a worthy destination of its own! The fun, comfortable environment, along with live music and attentive service, allowed us to enjoy our meal for an extended period of time and have a private conversation. However, as with any restaurant, in the end, it all comes down to the food; and that is where El Andariego really earns its high marks! Having visited El Salvador, I was familiar with authentic food and had high standards. The menu offers a nice variety of beef, seafood, chicken, pork and vegetarian appetizers/entrees, with each being unique in their preparation, taste and presentation. In addition, owner Consuelo Molina is known for his personal attention to guests, as demonstrated by his visit to our table during the meal to ensure everything was great, along with holding the door for us upon departure. El Andariego is a wonderful place to visit when one wants to step away from the fast-paced, hurried world and enjoy great food at a reasonable price, which is why we can't wait to return soon and enjoy another memorable meal!

Excellent food There is no mild salsa. I had to modify my review. I still love it there! I work for a school. We were having Hispanic heritage night and they said that they could donate some food. They were going to call me and I never heard from them. I have called and got no response. We we're counting on that food to help feed the neighborhood. Luckily, we had enough food! They didn't need to agree with the donation if they didn't want to.

This is my third visit to the restaurant,stand as in the past, the food was extraordinary really good. The wait staff is friendly and very attended to the needs of the patrons. Each time that I visited the food always tasted freshly cooked and extremely tasty. I would highly recommend El Andariego for both lunch and dinner. The Friday night that I stopped out for dinner with a friend the restaurant was packed. They had live music, which promoted a very festive atmosphere.

El Andariego is one of the best Mexican food places I've ever been to. Hands down. Far and away. The seating is very cozy. The service is extremely good as well. Everyone seems not only eager to help you, they're happy to do it and ensure you have a great experience. The food may seem slightly pricey at first, but the quality and flavor of the food, as well as the portion sizes, make it quite a deal. They have a large variety of dishes and ingredients without being confusing. They also have a small bar in the back of the restaurant. I believe they even play live music occasionally. This is where I bring my wife to for special occasions if we're near Sandy Spring. If you're in the area, make it a point to stop by and try them. You won't be disappointed.

Came to El Andariego for Valentines Day with my husband. It was crowded due to the occasion, but were greeted with smiles from the servers and seated right away. Our waitress Yadira came to our table right away to take our drink orders and to leave the menus, soon after another lady came with a basket of chips and salsa, so yummy. The abiance was alive with the live music and decor. Our food cameout sizzling hot and looked delicious I wish I had taken a picture so you could see it. We ordered the pancho Ulla platter it came with grilled shrimp, grilled chicken, grilled steak, grilled ribs and other side items it was finger licking awesome! We e. I was given a rose at the end of our visit :) I highly recommend this restaurant to couples, families or a night out with friends.nded our dinner with the coconut I cream. The staff were so lovely, but that couldn't make up for the food, we went there based on greater reviews but as we went at 5:30 it was a bit before dinner. So I assume they just gave us the older gold from lunch as the chicken was so dry not even the mole could fix it. And as we were eating, they started changing tables and dinner ware around us, so that confirmed our suspicion we had been given sub par food. But the staff are very very nice

Been eating here for probably 10 years, a few times a month. I like the fresh rose on the table. It sets the tenor of the meal. The enchiladas remind me of my years in El Paso. The pupusas are strictly Salvadoran. The rellenos and some of the tamales are Tex-Mex, while the tamals fit with the pupusas. Owner is there most of the times I'm there. Staff is friendly whether he's there or not. The prices are consistent with the cost of living here in the far suburbs of DC. 3 to 4PM dinners are the best!

Holy cow. This place was amazing!! I'm so bummed that I lived in Olney for as long as I did and never went to this restaurant. The table chips and salsa we're like nothing I've had before. They were like a rosé sauce mixed with salsa. It was decadent and delicious. We started off with guacamole and queso fundito and OMG another couple of knockouts. Our server, Diego was a superstar. Friendly, attentive, and sweet to my kid. We came in on Friday night with a party of 8 and everyone loved their entrees. I got a chicken burrito, which was yummy. My mom, who is one of the pickiest eaters I know, said she "loved" this place. I simply can't recommend El Andariego highly enough.

The service is very friendly and enthusiastic. We ordered different enchiladas and fajitas, and the portion sizes were large (especially if they came with rice and beans). The food was presented well and, more importantly, tasted delicious! There is also a large selection of unique desserts. Tres Leches is perfection. We also had the coconut ice cream with the tortilla shell and loved it. Overall, the experience was amazing.
