If you like cold smoked meat this is the place to go, no matter what time of day you go, the food is never hot enough. However I still love going here because they have of the best BBQ sauces around, try the Black Raspberry sauce. The food is always really good, the sweet tea never disappoints, they just can't seem to get past keeping the meat hot. The catering services they have provided tend to give mixed results. I've attended some places where it was meh, and other places where it was excellent.

Great food. Great atmosphere. We had a large group and we were accommodated very well. The food was amazing quality and the barbecue sauces were so good. I tried the sweet and tangy as well as the black raspberry and I would recommend both.

Food is good most of the time but they just can’t get the beer selection down. Service is ok. I just can’t understand how difficult it is to carry just one regular IPA. My husband and I have walked in and left several times because of this. Went again tonight and 2 IPA’s on draft, Key Like and Tangerine. Seriously?! It will be awhile before we go back again if ever.

We recently used CarterQue to prepare BBQ for a good sized party we were hosting. Everything was great. We picked it up hot the day of the party. We got pulled pork, brisket, and ribs along with sides. It was all really good, but everyone seemed to favor the brisket above the rest. I will be using them again!

I came here while visiting a friend in MD. The food came hot, sauce is great, LOVE their spiral cut fries! I would definitely come back again if I am in the area. Definitely one of the best barbecue pulled pork sandwiches I have ever had.

Really good food, and a friendly staff. Awesome sauce selection, I recommend the blackberry or the sweet and tangy. Great place to relax on lunch! The service is quick, so it's even good if you don't have a whole lot of time. Fair warning, if you get the nachos, they're super good, and HUGE!

BBQ is very good, prices are decent. We have enjoyed both dining in and take out. Their BBQ sauces are also very good. Make sure you try the Ol' Red. Kids meals are standard kids fare - our guys like the chicken tenders. They also have good burgers.

Great food! The menu has many great options of BBQ and beyond. I had the smoked wings for an appetizer and they were delicious. They also have a good craft beer selection. Definitely will visit again.

Good barbecue with a really good sauce. The sides are decent but nothing out of the ordinary or out of this world delicious. Signature black raspberry sauce is our favorite sauce they offer and definitely worth trying at least once. The service was attentive to our drinks, fast and very friendly.

I've been here far too often. BEST. BBQ. EVER. This is far superior to Black Hog in Frederick. Sorry, not sorry. The meat is just really well seasoned and the flavor is never lacking. Super salads! And the raspberry barbecue sauce is really delicious!

CarterQue has a great staff, service and atmosphere were nice and relaxed. They offer a good variety of food on their menu, from seafood to BBQ classics to more traditional American fare (wraps, salads, etc). The pit beef sandwich with the raspberry BBQ sauce (very interesting twist) was pretty tasty, however the cut of beef was leaner than I had hoped. I ordered a loaded spud, however I was disappointed with it, as it seemed dried out and not very appetizing. I may need to give this place a second chance though to give a full opinion though, since they offer so much!

Another day of food adventure brought us here on a quest to find good BBQ. This place was just OK. Had to wait to be seated longer than what is normal, one waitress saw us and decided to just ignore us. Our waitress was nice, but informed us that she was tired...then checked on us every two minutes -we got it, you want to go home (3 pm). The food was OK...Black Hog in Urbana is much better and remains a favorite. The Texas Brisket was delicious, the Ribs were too dry, the BBQ sauces served were too watery.

I would have given them five stars if it weren’t for messing up my bbq sauce on my burnt ends. I wanted the sweet and tangy and they gave the the black raspberry which just didn’t sit perfectly on the burnt ends. I will say the service was fast and polite. The meat was super tender and the appetizers were great. If you’re in the area this place would meet the bbq desire.

We live in Lansdowne and it’s always worth the trip to CarterQue. The food is ALWAYS top shelf . The staff and management treat us like family. The Wings, Queballs and BBQ egg rolls are the bomb. The key secret is in the black raspberry sauce. I will truly miss the RIBLETS but there are many more great tasting menu choices. Boss - Thanks for Trying !!

These burnt ends are UNREAL. Literally the best I've ever had. So good that I had to stop eating and rate this place, both so I could take a minute to savor the food and so I didn't forget to rate this restaurant. Whatever you order, get the raspberry BBQ sauce! The staff is very quick to help. I sat at the bar and the bartender was very pleasant and quick to tell us what his favorites are. This restaurant is somewhat of a hike for me but I'm SO glad that I stopped. Absolutely delicious!!!

Eat here often as well! We come here for the wings and their nachos. Their food is always great friendly staff manager and owner. The only thing I recommend when ordering the nachos is to ask for extra cheese if you like cheese because depending on who is preparing them you may not get a lot of cheese on your nachos. Great place to bring your family! Highly recommend this place. Also has excellent ribs!

The food was delicious! Down side was the feeling that everyone is sitting on top of each other. It is a very small building, and packed full of tables. The wait staff seemed experienced at getting around, which was a plus, but customers don't have that practice and seemed to have trouble getting around... But again, the food was delicious, and they have some really great flavors of bbq!

Loved the tender meats (ribs, brisket & pulled pork) with the spicy raspberry BBQ sauce. So good! The sides were fairly bland which is a plus for many people but nothing salt & pepper didn't fix. The fried pickles were fantastic and our waiter couldn't have been better. We had a really nice family dinner.

When I received my check I was shocked to see that I was charged for Ice Tea refills(non alcoholic) which had never been the case in the past. I asked the bartender about it and he apologized. Some friends invited us to go with them, and we were not disappointed. Great barbeque, a variety of sauces, sweet cornbread, great baked beans, meat was cooked well. Ordered a beer that came flat and it was replaced without delay or hassle. Excellent service all around. Brought my 5 year olds dinner quickly as we asked which was a blessing. If you are looking to have a great meal in a family environment, this is the place I'd send you. Heck, if it's just the guys, and you want some great beer and barbeque, I'd suggest here.

I am so sorry to lose this restaurant as my favorite BBQ. Since it moved and improved it has declined, in my opinion. Service is alright but our server today felt she had to yell for us to hear her, it wasn't busy and yes, we are over 60 but not deaf. My husband's sandwich bun was like a rock! It has lost it's friendly, down homeness. Lots of beer on tap so maybe that's the draw now. So sorry.

CarterQue is a really nice bbq place in Mt. Airy. The food was great. The pulled pork sandwich was very moist and cooked nearly to perfection. You have the choice of coleslaw on the sandwich, the side, or not at all. The coleslaw was creamy, crunchy and flavorful. I got the black berry bbq sauce. It had a deep rich and mildly sweet flavor. The sandwich came with potato curls. They were cooked really well. Crunchy on the outside and flaky in the middle and perfectly golden brown. The sandwich came on a brioche bun with was very good, not stale or doughy. This will be a common lunch spot for me in the future. They also have a small bar area. They do take out, eat in or catering. Come here often.

Finally had the chance to try this one place. Had three meat platter. Link, chopped beef brisket and pulled pork. Pulled pork. Delicious! Link - ok ok. Definitely not recommend link! Chopped beef brisket - ok Will definitely be back for their pulled pork only for sure! Their raspberry bbq sauce - delicious! Onion rings - not even one star. Don’t get that! Waitress - very friendly!

I'm pretty picky about barbecue, so finding a place like CarterQue is a godsend. My wife and I like it so much that we had them cater our wedding. Every time we visit, the staff is professional, friendly, and make us feel important as customers. There is a large selection of food, with great sauces to match them all. Good drink selection as well. Highly recommended.

I like to support local small business but can’t in good conscience recommend Caterque. Ate here shortly after they opened and was so unimpressed that I didn’t try again until a coworker suggested we order carry out dinner last night. I ordered BBQ nachos with pulled pork. Menu says tortilla chips with choice of meat (I chose pulled pork), bbq sauce, cheddar cheese, jalapeños, salsa & sour cream. Sounds pretty good, right!? I got a pile of half stale chips that had no salt on them and were tasteless. On top was the driest & most flavorless pulled pork I’ve ever had with over-baked and dark/hardened melted cheddar cheese. A cup of AMAZING tasting black raspberry BBQ sauce on the side. NO jalapeños, NO salsa & NO sour cream! It wasily one of the worst tasting items I have ever ordered and tried to eat from a restaurant. I let the coworker that suggested we order try it and she agreed. The sauce is the only reason they got a second star. I would honestly buy s bottle or two of the sauce.

This is an update to a previous review. My wife and I hired CarterQue to cater our wedding, and WOW. We knew their food was great (hence, the previous review), but our experience from start to finish was outstanding. Colleen was wonderful in helping us decide what menu options we wanted to have and in working with us as things changed. The on-site staff were friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond in helping us get set up and, later, cleaned. We heard nothing but rave reviews from our friends and family, and if we had to do it over again, we'd pick them without a moment of hesitation. They even sent us on our way with a gift bag!

Unfortunately CarterQue is not as good as it used to be. Chain stores like Famous Dave's provide better service and quality. The signature sauce is still very good. They are certainly worth a try. Please keep in mind that this is just my opinion and still consider giving them a try.

You can't go wrong by stopping in here for a bite to eat (delicious BBQ) or for a drink at the bar. Super friendly staff and a cozy seating area. Plenty of TV's to keep the sports person busy as well but the sound is down so you can still have normal conversations. Okay, first off: the iced tea was very good! The pulled pork with the blueberry bbq sauce and cole slaw on top was an excellent sandwich. Try that sauce! The "Frickles" are fired pickle wedges and they were yummy. Parking lot is small but any size SUV or truck can easily manage. Located in wonderful Mt. Airy and about 5 minutes from I70 if you are passing through and want something unique to eat. Not too expensive either.
