Here you will be able to see the reviews of real people like you who are consuming the products of Bombay Bistro (Restaurant) in Maryland area.
Now the firm gets a rating of 4.3 stars out of 5 and the rating has been calculated on 382 reviews.
As you can see the average score it has is positive, and it's based on a very large number of reviews, so we can say that the valuation is very accurate. If many people have bothered to evaluate when they've done well with the business, is that it works.
You know that we do not usually stop to write opinions when these are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Restaurant corresponds to the category of Indian restaurant.
I had a wonderful at this spot. We enjoyed the great environment and the food. The staff were super amiable. I am happy we ultimately decided to try this restaurant.
This is one of my local favorites. They have such great quality food for their lunch buffet it's hard to resist when it's so close to my work! If you are looking for extremely delicious and authentic Indian cuisine, please look no further!
FABULOUS! My husband said "the best Indian food that I've eaten!" And none of us could argue with him. Our friends have been going to Bombay Bistro for years and loved it. They took us for the first time - we ate a wide variety of their yummy appetizers and entrees. All were delicious. The service is excellent - prompt, friendly and professional. Strongly recommend that you give it a try!
Always delicious food and very accommodating! Helpful with questions on various dishes
I judge all other samosas against Bombay Bistro's. They also offer an outstanding Peshawari chole and consistently better than average breads. Their vegetable biryani has a great blend of spices, and they have a few good dished with farmers cheese. Their lunch buffets have great variety whether you eat meat or are a vegetarian.
Big fan of Indian food love the lamb vindaloo here. I order food from here once in a while and when I do it always taste good. Only thing is I've ordered the chicken biryani many times and usually ask if they can make it not spicy and as always it always depends on the person cooking the food... anyways they have made the chicken biryani many times not spicy and it would taste fantastic but lately they have been making it too spicy even when you ask for them not too. Either way if you love spicy food this is the place to be and if your not a fan of spicy food then beware. Also the price was reasonable before and I realized recently the price went up. Still good place to go once in a blue moon.
One of the finest Indian restaurants in this area. Their food is not the typical "restaurant" type but more like authentic Indian home cooking. The variety is great too. Both in the number of dishes as well as having new dishes every day. The price (for the buffet) is also slightly less than other restaurants around here. A simply must!!!!
The lunch buffet is an awesome deal! So much food for $10 or so!
Food is terrible. Buffet has very limited options. Chicken dishes are not even worth looking at. It’s not worth the money you want to spend on a nice afternoon for your lunch.
Ambience is good.....food is awesome
This is a perfect place to hangout with nice food. Their service and items are very good.
Good Indian food, decent prices and all in s comfortable and home like atmosphere.
Best restaurant in the dmv area and so low key.
Good food. Good service. Doesn't knock your socks off but doesn't disappoint either.
Great experience with Dosa and chola Batore.Customer Service is excellent.
Best curry. Super delish.
Bombay Bistro is a cute corner Indian restuarant in Rockville Maryland. The parking spaces in the lot are quite small, so if you have the option, bring a smaller car. This place serves traditional Indian food along with American touches. Food is served quickly and water is topped off often. The meats are tender and the curries and sauces flavorful. Will definitely be returning.
My family and I love Bombay Bistro! It's one of the best things about living in Rockville. The food is delicious and the staff is always friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend if you haven't already been there.
Authentic Indian food, though tweaked a bit for American taste buds without loosing a bit of authenticity. Out of all the 10s of indian restaurants I have visited, this one offers One of the most authentic and delicious Indian food in US. For DC desi’s Rasika is hyped. Try this.
Had the lunch buffet. Limited selection but ok for the venue size I guess. Only chicken dishes.
Great Indian food in a relaxed atmosphere.
Ok place to eat. As for authenticity - I would say thats questionable. Lots of Caucasian people here claiming that the food is authentic. Makes you wonder! The menu is too varied for any one dish to be very good. They have dosas from extreme southern India, Goan curry AND Punjabi food. The best Indian places stick to a geographical specialty.
Great food with very good manager and staffs.. it was overall great experience
Felix food/Great service!
Visiting from NY... awesome and amazing Veg options. A definite must if craving Indian Cuisine
My favorite spot in Rockville! I could eat their lunch buffet on a daily basis.
Great food
Great food, flavor is totally indian and original. Great customer service. Fully recommended. Prices are ok
I am becoming a huge fan of Indian food. The buffet here is very good and enables me to learn about food items that are new to me. Excellent.
Wonderful food, great service, will come back for sure!
Dissapointing food, bland taste if you are an Indian and poor service.
Excellent food and polite service!
Went for the Wednesday and Thursday late night menu! Great service, someone is always available to help you. Food came out quick and the server was able to give me suggestions. Loved the ambiance and relaxed setting too. 10/10 would go again, during the late night and regular dinner hours too!
Not a great selection at their lunch buffet. Good service and okay food.
First tried as a carryout order and was very pleased and determined to return for dine-in. Again tonight I was more than satisfied. Wait time was brief, service tentative, and food fabulous. This is my new favorite spot for authentic Indian.
Although the food is good, this place is very small and their lunch buffet is really, really lacking dish options. Compared to other Indian restaurant lunch buffets, it is not good. Additionally, there isn't enough parking.
Absolutely great dining experience. Waiters/waitresses stand ready to serve and they know the menu items. There's no one person waiting on a particular section. When you need something anyone working will serve you. The food and the flavors were absolutely great. My wife got the salmon which was cooked great. My chicken palak was tender and great flavors. The chicken tacos (yes tacos at an Indian restaurant) were a great way to start the dinner. Did I mention that all the flavors were awesome????
Very small but yet warm place. The food was outstanding and the services was great.
I have only been for the buffet, but it is amazing!
Excellent food highly recommend! I love their lunch buffet
Chicken curry is amazing!
Came here for lunch buffet. The food was delicious moderately spiced and flavorful.
It was great food
Calamari appetizer, great. Garlic naan bread,Chicken tikka makhani, excellant. Very reasonable price.
A really nice Indian Eatery with a casual dining experience. Good place for First Dates. Amazing food, feels like home cooked. They have some items Witcher off menu amazingly delicious. The stuff is fantastic. The owner is amazing. Very very good food for the price
The food was fresh, and very tasty. Even for a weekday lunch buffet the choices of the vegetarian (and non-vegetarian) dishes are excellent. The price is reasonable, adding value for the money. My family and I have been going there since they opened. They have consistently maintained the food quality. The staff is pleasant and courteous. I highly recommend this place.
It is so so Indian Food $$$
Buffet is Okay
Fantastic! Delicious food, popping with flavor is fit for a king and the staff treat you like royalty. Definitely my favorite!
Taste and quality of the food (at least at its Buffet) has dropped significantly. I hope the dinner service is much better.
An excellent place to eat. The service was great, the food was amazing, and literally the best dessert I've ever had. I highly recommend this place.
It has improved very much since my last visit 5 years ago.
I love Bombay Bistro! I visit at least twice every business trip. The food is delicious, fresh, light, and filling. The staff are wonderful. Service is always quick, too. Best Indian food around!
Food good but presentation and timing off. Waiter needs to better explain food and serving options. We will try the lunch buffet in the future.
Had a wonderful dinner on all the three days i visited. One was chicken biriyani, a non veg thali and a veg thali...The taste was absolutely authentic, as i know it living in india.
Excellent food. I recommend the sampler Thali platter. I got the non-vegetarian and my wife got the vegetarian. Both were excellent. The staff were friendly and attentive. Great experience overall.
They don't know how to make a veg biriyani.. a VEG BIRIYANI!
Great food. Reasonable pricing. The staff was also pretty attentive with water refills and answered any questions we had. Definitely want to go back.
Great food, friendly staff members, consistently great atmosphere. They charge affordable pricing and the food quality is awesome. I recommend this place.
Great Staff.. Excellent food!
Total waste of money. They dont deserve 1 star. This is the worst indian food i had here. I suggest everyone not to go.
Great food , friendly owner, love going here with my brother when I visit from Jersey.
I like the dishes ordered off the menu. I'm always happy with the food. Service is ok.
Not impressed with there food.
This is my favorite spot! I grew up eating the food from here and it has spoiled me! when my friends try to take me to other places the food never compares! I have to stop myself from eating here every day haha <3
Great food and excellent service, nice menu options... And the only one thing I noticed on reviews is the Indians have problem about the restaurant... The reason is you don’t tip out the server enough, I know this because I use to be a waiter and very rarely Indians use to tip good.. And the reason for that may be they don’t know this country the server works on tips...so please try to appreciate the work that your server doing to you ..and go on a peaceful mind to a restaurant. I have seen a lot of customers they come to table and they think themselves they are god... for those kind of people you will never get a good service... if you are expecting a good service and good food be friendly with your server..don’t be an animal.... Jay hind..
Good selection of Indian food. The service is good and there is norma my no wait time to be seated. Parking can be tricky since they have a very small parking lot and the located right in downtown rockville. You may have to park a bit away and walk to them but otherwise nice location and goid eats.
Very homey, food is good. The lunch buffet doesn't have the widest selection of food, but what they do have is good. The dinner menu is good. Everyone there is courteous and responsive.
I frequently go here for lunch, and it's my favorite Indian spot. They always have an excellent spread, and I often don't even have the meat items because they have such good vegetable dishes--not that there's anything wrong with the meat dishes, just trying to eat less meat in general. The black lentils are one of my favourite things anywhere!
GReat food ! ambiance and Kulfi :)
Absolutely delicious! My mother in law was especially raving about the Baingan Bhartha dish. Thank you for another delicious dinner!
Fantastic! I had the Bombay Thalia - huge amounts of very tasty food. The chat, however stole the show. Great reasonably priced food in non-nonsense but pleasant atmosphere.
Great food
Recommend lunch buffet to get a taste of more options. Their pickled spicy onions thing (sorry don't know the real name) has a serious kick and it's yummy
Always a great selection of dishes with really good options. Very affordable and food is kept warm without drying it out.
Awesome experience the first time. Server appeared to be angry when we wanted a larger table. New server was very nice.
Sooo yummy!!! And the service was excellent! I also loved the cozy atmosphere of this restaurant! Will definitely visit again!
Had a lunch gathering with some coworkers the food was great. There salad with the pickled onion was spicy but good. I will be going back for the lunch buffet.
Awesome food...authentic taste n delicious aroma....good in both north and South Indian food
Delicious! A must try!
$11.95 for a wonderful lunch buffet in downtown Rockville!!! They will rotate the entrees, but you really can't go wrong here--they have all the classics as well as a sweet kefir rice for dessert!! If you're searching for a larger selection of food, look at Minerva in the shopping center at the corner of 355 and Shady Grove Road.
Excellent food and service
Stopped by here for the first time a few days back for dinner and absolutely loved it! A friend had recommended the place, and I am so happy we stopped in. The flavors were amazing, and the dishes had just the right amount of spice. Our server was very polite, and the place itself has a very cozy and comfortable feel. Definitely a best kept secret of Rockville - I will be coming back soon!
Great experience every time!
A reliable and long-standing stop for sumptuous Indian food that's been serving the wider Rockville area since before I was born.
I love this Indian buffet. Been coming for years. It is located where the Little Pigs bbq used to be in Rockville, slightly hidden from the main downtown but walking distance.
In one word 'Fabulous' This is my honest opinion, I have tried so many Indian restaurant in US but almost all of them modify the authentic Indian taste and make it extremely creamy and rich. But, Bombay bistro is classic exception to that trend. I wish I can give more than 5 stars to their brilliant efforts to keep all customers happy. The manager/owner is so humble and helpful. You just earned a life time customer.
Food was good. Restaurant was clean. service was prompt.
This place is awesome! I was eating lunch buffet, the food is delicious. All Indian, great food. Price is good. Thank you guys for tasty day!
Fresh and flavourful food combined with very friendly service!
Nice buffet, small but with good selections. Excellent aloo gobi.
The food is simple and delicious, just like home. I liked the lunch buffet. The prices seem surprisingly on the cheaper side for the area.
This place is totally amazing, our waitress was so nice, always attentive, and very patient. The food is legit indian food and very delicious and the dessert tasted like paradise on my tongue. Like it was awesome
Food is good . Staff is good . Place is little compact. Less variety on buffet.try to in less busy hours .
Its a Nepali restorant and not upto the standard of a good Indian restorant. Food was not of good quality .
Perfect option for plant food based diet or vegetarian, good taste.
The place is kind of small but the food in lunch buffet was delicious, they continously refilled the trays and the selection of food was very good.
I have always loved everything I order form this restaurant, be it dine-in or carry-out. I had not ordered for a few years for carry-out until recently. I had about 23 guests and I called and spoke to the manger about carry-out service. She gave great advise on how much to order, how many dishes, etc. And it was all hassle free! We ordered, picked it up and the food was too good-all four dishes were perfect! I loved the fact that it wasn't too spicy at all but so full of flavor. The lamb rogan josh was so tender and full of flavor as well as the chicken tikka masala, the saag panner and the vegetable jalfrezzi. It really is worth the "bit" of expensive price. Every guest loved the food that night. So, thank you Bombay Bistro for great service and especially great food!
I'm always between a 3 and a 4-star on this place so recently I think the quality has gone down a bit. The bread is excellent and the butter chicken is very very good but I feel it's become a little bit too Americanized for my personal pallet. The only dish that I really thought was below-average without being subjective was the biryani.
Bombay bistro has a very warming ambience. The staff is very cordial. Here vegetarians also have many options like Papadi chaat, samosas, tikis, cauliflower stuffed naan n many more. The food is very appetizing.
Nice food. Good restaurant.
A staple restaurant in Rockville, it has outlived almost every other restaurant. I have been going there infrequently for decades, but the food is always good, and the service is always friendly.
A small family owned restaurant just outside of the main Rockville Town Center area. One of few quality restaurants open late. I usually get the Saag Paneer, garlic Naan, and mango Lassi. All are great! The servers are always very sweet and attentive. Can't speak to their buffet, but have noticed they have one.
This is my spot..... I am from London and trust me when I say that I know a good Ruby Murray (curry) when I find one. Authentic, family run and consistently good. The menu is solid, you really cannot go wrong. The beer is cold and the ambiance is simple, clean and welcoming. Try this place out, plenty of non-spicy dishes on the menu for those that have no soul. :)
Nice lunch buffet
Good was great, nice atmosphere, good staff. Will definitely be back.
Delicious spot for your next Indian fix. Buffets pretty good too although extremely easy to over eat. Only gripe is dome dishes have been alittle light on the spices..
If you are looking for a cozy restaurant with fast service and a very relaxing atmosphere then look no further. We were seated promptly and our food came out very fast, even with the restaurant half full. It didn’t feel packed at any point even with most of the seats filled. The food was fantastic and the staff is attentive. Probably some of the best samosas I’ve ever had. Will absolutely come back, many more times.
Tried this place before with a friend and I am addicted ever since. I love the awesome ambience and delightful dishes and beverages. Keep it up.
Solid Indian food and above average lunch buffet which always has a yummy fish option. Buffet options are varied a bit for variety. Some parking attached but it fills up. Great for lunch and good for dinner.
First clue- Indian restaurant, all white patrons. Tried it anyways. Food was ok, but VERY VERY bland. Zero heat, and minimal spices. Catering too much to a bland American palate. Will skip this place in the future.
Great food and service. Had the chicken tikki mahkni and garlic naan. Would recommend both.
The food they had was very good but the selection was quite limited for a weekend buffet, particularly if you like meat dishes.
Great food. Friendly and quick service. Reasonable prices. These are just some of the reasons they have lasted 25 years
Always excellent authentic Indian cuisine. The wait staff is friendly and informative. Nice sized portions. Great nan and basmati rice. Their deserts are excellent. Parking is a little tight and few spaces.
One of the worst Indian food I had. It was very bland and the service was too slow. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Indian food does not need to be spicy but it must be well balanced by keeping the authentic flavors. This restaurant is ablsolutely butchering all the flavors.
Great authentic Indian cuisine, love their Lamb Nigiri Korma. Must try this restuarant.
The quality of the food was excellent and so was the taste particularly for the chicken curry madras and chicken tikka makhani. Not as spicy as other Indian restaurants and a somewhat smaller quantity than other some other restaurants (we ordered naan on the side). I thought the price was a little on the high end for relatively simply indian dishes that only included the chicken curry and a side of rice (about $15). Their house wine was about $8 for a glass.
This was our first time and we'll be coming back soon! Delicious, smoky salmon, juicy and perfectly cooked tandoori style. Also the lamb rogan josh was succulent and the sauce had a great cardamom accent, a rich texture, and a great blend of flavors. Service and food presentation was also superb. Happy 25th birthday, Bombay Bistro!
Quiet and small. They have a weekend buffet, which is great for first timers if you've never had Indian Cuisine. Can't wait to come back.
Very expensive place. Food quality not worth the cost. Although sitting arrangement is really good
One of the most terrible Indian restaurant I had ever been to. Absolutely waste of money in terms of price. We found out some weird particle in rice. After notifying the management, we got it replaced with a surprise. Half cooked rice. It was embarrassing to see that despite notifying the second incident, there was no polite response, apology or even a pretty sorry. I would definitely not recommend this place!
Simply one of the best Indian restaurants I've ever eaten at... my family eats their regularly...we often bring friends.Great friendly staff... amazing chefs... impressive menu.
This should be more 3.5, but not good enough for a 4 The bread was good, lime pickle condiment excellent, but the bhaji, Makhani and Bindi were just OK plus.
Yes! Good and delicious food finally.
Excellent food and even better service (especially Alex!). my son and I love going here every weekend.
We go there all the time, great food, friendly people and a view of the owner's mustache is worth a visit by itself. We always order the same thing, don't even need the menu anymore. They have take-out too, it looks like that is half of their business. There is parking in front and on the side. There is an occasional wait to get a table, but not too bad. They have a buffet on the weekends.
Good place. Made for American palate. You can ask for more spice. Service was good, food tasty. But pricy.
Awesome authentic Indian food, had their buffet and Dosa. Good food and great value . Will be back soon
Me and my future wife were in Rockville and found this place riding bikes and it was very peaceful and friendly, you get greeted at the door and the buffet was great, service was very attentive, and the Indian music was very smooth and relaxing. I dont see how people give this place anything under 4 stars when they are the same people who wait for terrible food at fast food spots or a restaurant like chillis, fridays, outback steakhouse, chipotle, redlobster, apple bees, ruby Tuesday, etc....that's real funny, but you have to know good food and wonderful service to understand...well thanks alot BOMBAY BAY in Rockville we will be back again and again..
Bombay Bistro holds a special place in Rockville for me. In their first two years they opened everyone I knew went and enjoyed the food so much it immediately felt like their restaurant was always a part of Rockville. In every year since the food is always amazing, so flavorful and succulent that it is the only chance I could go vegetarian because their Saag Paneer with cheese is almost as good as the Chicken Palak. The Chicken Tikka is a great introductory dish for anyone not already a fan!
I've had the weekend lunch buffet so many times they know me here.
My favorite place for good indian food. Priced so well i love the staff and the food is top notch
Good lunch buffet at this old steady Rockville restaurant. The quality has stayed great and consistent through the years. The open kitchen is nice - you can see what they are cooking. Tight space, but the buffet is very nice.
Best Indian Cusine in Rockville. I have been a patron for over 20 years. Parking in the small shopping center leaves something to be desired, but their chicken makhani will quickly ease your mind!
It’s not for a Indian actually, I felt it’s not authentic in taste, service was good though.
Bombay Bistro is the best Indian restaurant in the area. We prefer the non-meat dishes, our favorites are the Dal Makhani (side) and the Saag Paneer. The lentil has so much flavor and the spinach is the best I've ever had. I don't think you can go wrong with anything there.
Absolutely love this place. Great service every time we go and the food is delicious.
