This was the first bar that my husband and I visited on our vacation to Ocean City, Maryland. It was sizzling outside and the drinks were refreshing and very well made. I loved the fried veggie apps as well. It was pretty crowded in the restaurant but we managed to get a seat at the bar and the service was so friendly. We'll be back!

Went for a late lunch, and was seated immediately. Server was friendly and the food arrived quickly. I was surprised with the kids menu pork sliders, 2 large sliders and fries, for a decent price. I ordered the shrimp salad wrap. I love old bay; however, that was the seasoning used for the shrimp salad. Not so original, and lacked taste. The shrimp were large, although had I wanted just shrimp with old bay, I'd eat them steamed. My other half had the grouper finger sandwich which he was pleased with. Our bill was decent, under 30 bucks.. considering it is at the beach.

This is such a fun place to go. I first took my family there after I saw they had these outdoor glider tables. The entire table can gently swing back and forth. I figured my tween daughter would like them and I was right. Even though they are right on Coastal Highway, the plantings hide much of the traffic at least in one area. There is also an outdoor bar and large indoor bar and restaurant. We have visited in May and in July and never once had a wait. We do tend to eat meals at off-peak times. I believe there is sometimes at least a short wait during peak times. We have always been immediately seated, even though we ask for a glider table. There have always been a decent number of customers, just never a wait. During lunch and dinner hours at least they are very kid-friendly. I have never seen anything that would be off-putting to a family with kids. The only caveat is their name. I had to stop my daughter from saying "I love Big Pecker's. What?! I just love Big Pecker's!" and pointed to the rooster with a big beak on the menu. Also, their tshirt selection is advertised on the backs of menus and includes one that says "My pen is big." Some parents might be uncomfortable with that sort of thing. My daughter loves this place and asks to go back every time we are in the area so we have been here quite often. She loves their tacos. The menu has a lot of options and we have always been very happy with our food. My husband loves their onion rings. I like their nachos, although the beef in the nachos should really be more seasoned. They are still very good with the cheese seemkngly baked-on, and come with cups of salsa, jalapenos, sour cream, and guacamole. I have to mention their burgers of course. Big Pecker's has their delicious "bodacious burgers", which are massive and have always been great. They have a really good drink menu too. I got a Jack Daniels "Love Punch" when we were there a day or so ago. It was good, but you definitely could taste the Jack Daniels specifically. If you don't care for Jack Daniels they have a *lot* of other options on their drink menu. The prices at Big Pecker's are really good for Ocean City. I think the nachos, for example, are about $8 or $9. The tacos are a bit more, maybe $10 or $11 (?) but the plate comes with 3 soft tacos that are very full. The nachos are a large plate and piled decently high. I may eat 1/3 of them if I'm very hungry. Nothing is cheap in Ocean City, but Big Pecker's has very good prices, a good variety of tasty food that should provide options for most anyone to be happy, a nice setting, the novelty of the glider tables, servers who have always been efficient and friendly, and has always been very clean. We always know when we go that everyone will be happy with their food and enjoy their time there. I really recommend Bog Pecker's, and that you try the glider tables at least once.

Good food. Portions are pretty large for the price. Would have been 5 stars but our waiter only swung by every 10 minutes or so and my soup didn’t come until after I had finished my burger.

Four stars for the large portions and the tastiness of the food. Three stars because a person in our party swears their fish tacos gave them food poisoning. I got the BBQ pulled pork tacos which were big and tasty. We got the hot dog and fries for the kiddo. She enjoyed the fries but the hot dog was kind of bland. Definitely extra points for the waitress who replaced the hot dog and fries at no cost when my daughter knocked them on the floor by accident. And we all loved the rocking tables outside. Again, a star knocked off because one person in our party had an upset stomach after eating the fish tacos.

Extremely average food. My wife said her Chicken Parm sub was eh. My burger seemed like it was a frozen store bought patty. It was busy, but the hostess/waitress weren't very worried about providing good service-more like get in get out tip me. We also observed a man who seemed to be the manager (waitresses and waiters constantly went to him w/ questions) rolling silverware, in order to get a better grip on the silverware wrapper he was constantly licking his fingers, then grabbing silverware-absolutely disgusting. He obviously thought nothing of it as he did it several times right in front of us. Luckily we did not need silverware for our meals.

Great food and great service!! We were in a hurry and then made sure our food was out and we could make it to our event on time. LOVE THE SWINGS!! Only thing that disappointed me was I got chips instead of fries and excepted homemade chips but unfortunately they were just regular Lays potato chips.

Stopped in for dinner around 6PM. Seating was fast and service was friendly. Food came out relatively quick and the burgers we ordered were cooked exact to our order. Delicious as well. Only disappointment was having to pay $4.99 to get salad instead of seasoned fries.

Been coming to ocean city for years!!! For some reason have never sat down here. I just have to say I live on the Chesapeake Bay and the crab cake ... Absolutely delicious!!! It was a hearty meal with a ton of crab meat...all of it was crab!!! Hats off to the chef. My wife had the spicy Burger And there was no tray to bring home with leftovers... She killed it and loved it. The service was awesome my daughter ate the grill cheese without an issue, I don't wanna fail to mention the cool outdoor tables which the breeze and the fountain added to the ambience! We will definitely become regulars!!!

I just arrived in ocean City and I was craving a burger. I did some research on Google Maps and finally chose Big Peckers. Nailed it. even though they had plenty of fancy burgers, I chose the bacon cheeseburger. It was great. Lori the bartender reminded everyone that happy hour was ending and threw a cheap beer on my tab before the price increase. How sweet. Great time. Will be back.

Food was great as usual. However, what happened to the Raspberry tea? Husband got the taco bowl and i got the vegetable quesadilla. We both loved the entrees. Atmosphere was a little loud, but not do bad we left w/o ordering and eating.

All i can say is wow! Probably one of the coolest ,temperature wise, outside seating in OC. The cooling mist really does make a difference. Food prices are in my opinion right on point for the amount of food you get. Gift shop is awesome. And just the aroma coming out of the ventilation system made my mouth water. Great experience.. Will definetly return and recommend anyone.

Our family visits OCMD every year and Big Peckers is always on the list! It's great for families, cheap food prices for the area, great quality food, and service is good! The outside seating is unique with glider tables. If your looking for a quick drink or bite to eat, or sitting down with a family if 6, I would recommend this place for sure.

Food orders were incorrect, and the girl at the bar was very rude. We went inside for a takeout order and when she realized we weren't buying drinks she ignored us. Just set our food on the counter, threw plastic bags toward us and walked away. Very unprofessional

Always good food. Only hang up was the waitress tried to be slick. I put $60 in cash and the rest on my card. She came back with the whole bill on my card and the cash missing. It was deliberate because instead of giving me the receipt she set it in front of my friend. I did get the cash back without issue but I'm sure it wasn't the first time she did this.

The only problem we came across was the service. We came as a family of 4. We asked for specific cooking preferences on each of our burgers. Couldn’t follow that. On top of that completely forgot one of our burgers! Not saying their food is bad or the portion sizes are wrong. Prices is good. Just poor customer service..

Food tasted good. Prices aren't terrible. It's a bit hot inside and kind of a small area for dining based on how popular it is. Only got 5 coconut shrimp for the appetizer that costs $9.

Looking for a decent burger and on a budget 2for1 here!! During our trip we stayed across the street and starving after a day on the beach we popped in. Not too busy and the staff super attentive, friendly and informative. Enjoyed our eats with absolutely no fuss.

Doesn’t live up to hype honestly. Food was alright. The outdoor patio table booths that rock are cool but the table is way too far from the bench and it’s awkward because you have to sit on the very edge to be able to eat your food if you aren’t 7ft tall.

First time here in years. Service was good, wait was a little longer then originally quoted though. Sandwiches were all nice sized and packed. I got the chicken chesapeake dinner which I was disappointed in and wished I had ordered one of the other sandwiches the rest of my party ordered.

Was vacationing in Rehoboth Beach took a drive to Assateague Island and decided on way back to stop here. Wanted to buy a shirt so went into gift shop apparel store and found a cool shirt but when I went to pay for it I was told they only took cash and directed me to ATM machine in their restaurant so out I went to get some cash. ATM said that transaction was approved and complete and to remove card which I did. However no cash ever dispensed. Two waitresses were right beside machine and I said something. One went and got the manager who came out. James the manager said “ happens all the time because of fraud don’t worry you won’t be charged” I said what if I am? He said that “we don’t own the machine” so I said well I tried to make a store purchase but was told that you only took cash and not credit or debit. He said that’s true we don’t take cash out there. I said do you take debit or credit in restaurant he said yes I said can I pay that way he said no but I could drive out of my way to the boardwalk store and they take debit credit there. I’m actually stunned as a retail manager that this manager offered no real solutions of what he could do but what he couldn’t do. Lost my business from the shirt sale and our lunch which we drive up to Dewey and had lunch there. Highly disappointed and will never spend a dollar here.

Food was good, however, the service was kind of bad. No one approached us for 10 minutes after being seat outside. Came in as a group, but it was only two of us at our table. The waitress addressed the other table that came in with us. We had to flag someone down to get service. Then, she never took our drink order. Told us that she was going to find our waitress since it was “change of shift”. We watched as she told some body and it appeared they were trying to figure out who was going to wait on us. TEAM WORK could have solved the poor experience that we had... I didn’t care for the idea that they substitute sides. I don’t recommend this place. Go somewhere else. No one cared

Despite the funny name, they have great food. We were quoted a 30 minute wait on a Friday evening, and got seated within 5 minutes. I liked the cool swing tables (whatever they're called). Our server was helpful, and I got the broccoli and cheese soup in a bread bowl, as well as the Mac Attack Burger (a cheeseburger with mac and cheese on top). Both were absolutely to die for! We had a great experience and will definitely come back when we are in O.C. Keep in mind that the t shirt shop only accepts cash if you want something from there.

My fiance and I have eaten here twice while on vacation and both times we had amazing meals! The first meal he had chicken tacos and I had carmelized onion, mushrooms, and spinach quesadillas. They were amazing!!! We sat outside on the big swings, where he was able to swing us while being misted by the misters. The wait staff was super friendly and helpful (did I mention patient as well?!) It was a great atmosphere, especially on a hot day!

I met my family here for lunch. I wasn't hungry but my family went on and on about how good the food was. Parking isn't ideal so I highly recommend taking the bus. $3 to ride all day and the buses run within 15 minutes of each other. The drinks at the bar were made well and served cold. The staff was very personable. If you're a cocktail person I recommend The Mermaid cocktail it was

Not the best visit. A well done burger doesn't mean if the outside is burnt, doesn't mean it's cooked inside. Also medium rare should have pink inside.ours didn't.

I thought the menu would be less limited especially in Ocean City. The ranch dressing was very watery...the drinks weren't too strong, BUT!! The prices were exactly what I expected and didn't leave me surprised. $8 for a bottle of MGD...LOL!!

This is a cozy little bar/ restaurant that's well known by it's name alone. Also known for its party type atmosphere of yesteryear meaning it's not the choice of the younger crowd over 21 as "THE" place to go at night for beer, booze, and food. It's more low key these days bringing in families for lunch and dinner after a day on the beach. Anyway I only gave it 3 stars because even though the food was good it could have been much better. The menu could use a facelift as well! Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and expedient so I give her 5 stars. With all that out of way the other reason for the 3 stars was because of the amount of flies buzzing around the entire place landing on everything they could and that was not a pleasant dining experience at all........GROSS!

My family and I have gone to Big Peckers for years. This time, we were highly disappointed. The food quality was disappointing. We ordered crab cakes, which were very small in portion and over charged. They were also served with Ken’s Tarter sauce, still in the packaging. The tuna steak was bland. The burger sliders are not burger sliders. It is one burger cut into 4 pieces and up-charged from a regular burger on the menu. The service was good, and server was pleasant. I was highly disappointed by the food quality and taste at this visit. I will not be back nor recommend Big Peckers to anyone in the future.

This is actually Ken’s wife posting. I gave2 stars, because they offer a veggie burger, and I was woefully disappointed at the lack of vegan options in a resort town that caters to tourists. I asked for guac and onions on my burger. It tasted good, but the thing that left a bad taste in my mouth was that I was charged for guac ( expected) but also for onions? And a bun??? Get with the program.

The first time we want to eat at Big Pecker's Bar and Grill my youngest daughter was 6 she just turned 13 this month . this is her favorite place to go for her birthday every year. That's how good the food and the service is....

Food was ok. The atmosphere is nice and the glider tables were pretty cool. But when I took my daughter to the restroom, after asking the waitress where it was, we came back to our table completely cleared and other people sitting there. We were not gone long enough to make them think we left, and another table told them we went to the restroom. Luckly I was done with my food. So that was really annoying.
