I've lived in this area for roughly 12 years. When my family first moved here, we heard of this 'Bamboo Buffet.' and got all excited. We went there maybe 2-3 times as a first choice. The other reviews are pretty spot on, only the seafood is 'okay' as one mentioned. If you only eat that then you'll have an okay experience with the food. Fruit is pretty dry from what I remember. As for the sanitation, pretty sticky... It's a little ironic though how you can't keep using the same plate for sanitation reasons when there's nothing sanitary about the place in general. On the upside, they're open on Christmas. Although that was probably the last time my family stepped foot in there ever again. It's been several years and we figured we'd give it another try, but it seems nothing has really changed. The problem is there are like 5 other Asian buffet or Asian buffet-like restaurants within a 7 mile radius. So there's a least a little competition there. I wish them good luck upping their game, it seems like one of those places that has potential. [Posted this review at least 1 year ago, but edited and added another star today (03/12/18) because I felt bad giving such a low rating, for some reason it just bumped the review back to the top though, very sorry]

I'm a local. It's about 10 mins walk from my home and I have known this place for about 10 years and let me tell you that this place have gone downhill. I don't know what happen to this place, but food so watery, oily, and gross! The place so dirty becausw the waitress so lazy! All they do is either talk to each other or stand around...Only thing that the buffet done right is the fried squid and bao pao (not sure if I spell that right). Hell the basic dish: orange chicken, they cannot get it right!

3xDive...Soup on the grill is okay but everything tastes on level with the keepers here in October 2017. Plus the place is Maryland smart, any derelict that comes to your hometown will very likely remember this place from childhood. Again in January the food was better prepared and the service better but the neighborhood thinks it's a bar with only garnishments. In February I had to vomit in the restaurant after eating Habatchi Soup and buffet fish items.

Gave this place a try since moving to Wheaton and the food was horrible. The chicken & broccoli, general taos, the rice all taste like dishwashing liquid/ chemicals (the only thing fresh were the steamed crabs) I was so frustrated with the food I settled for Ice cream and vowed never to return. I love Chinese food (the Americanized kind, of course) and am generally open-minded when it comes to Chinese buffets, since I know the quality is never all that great. Safe to say, I never go to a Chinese buffet with high expectations. That said, this place was gross. A pretty large selection of seafood, but that's not my thing...seafood from a buffet has disaster written all over it. Sweet and sour chicken with the red sauce was pretty much what you'd find anywhere. The chowmein noodles were fine. Otherwise there was only one or two items that looked appetizing.

what can i say, for the price, you can't really complain much. my lunch was under 9 bucks soda included so if you complain then something is wrong with you but if you give this place 5 stars then something is definitely wrong with you. bottom line for the price, the lunch was descent. i had some cheap sushi some noodles with orange chicken and some desert and that's about it i couldn't try the rest for graphical reasons. a lot of the customer were construction guys who filled their plates really good with rice, corn, meats and shrimp, and of course Chinese people who seemed very satisfied with their food, but I'm not surprised, in china they eat dogs and snakes so that buffet is like some top notch steak house for them. would i go back? probably not. not 5 stars not 1 one star somewhere in the middle.

Me and my family went to eat here. We were enjoying it, until we were kicked out. The place was full, and they needed the table we were sitting at. The waiters started taking our plates off the table, and they told us to get out. We told them we weren't done, but they refused to let us finish. We got up, told them we didn't like their service, and we left. Horrible place. I don't recommend.

This Chinese Buffet is big and their food is okay. However, they charge different prices for different people, I guess, depending on your looks, or skin color. I went in with my wife on June 3rd, 2016, and we were told that lunch was $12. 85/person. On our way out, after eating, surprisingly, I overheard the lady telling a white couple that buffet lunch was $12.25. I wondered why charge us 60 cents higher but I resisted the urge to confront her. Well, to suite myself, I returned there last week to verify and, lo and behold, I was still charged higher. I'm not sure if my being black is the issue, or what exactly is the reason for separate pricing at this restaurant. I just want others to be observant of this as well. Besides, the place is dirty. The old rug on the floor stinks really bad.

I went here today with my boyfriend and it was horrible! The place smelled when we walked in and we should’ve turned around at that very moment. A waste of 20 dollars! The food was so dry and it felt as if it was re-heated. We pretty much ate disgusted, not wanting to eat anything that was on our plate. We didn’t even finish the food. The Bamboo Buffet is mediocre at best. The lack of signage over each dish, the boring flavors and the service make this place essentially dismal. The selection of dishes is odd at best. The sushi is something to be avoided in my opinion. It wasn't freshly made during the 45 minutes we were here. Again the selection is poor. The Pho is kind of a joke as well. I walked up and ordered the beef Pho. It looked like thinly sliced, obviously recently thawed, cheese steak meat. They quickly boiled both the noodles and beef. You can add whatever you'd like to it after its done. Nothing about this place screams attention to detail or that anyone cares about this place whatsoever. The desserts are all pre-packaged, stale and flavorless. Ive never had a creme puff that literally lacked any and all flavor before. The offered fruit was dry looking. The salad bar was a joke. This is just another below par Chinese buffet. Avoid unless starving. We certainly won't bother coming back again. Not worth the trip.

Good food, they tried with sushi but it's same as Blue Pearl, slightly below Gaithersburg's Hibachi and one full grade less than Sushi Para and one and half grade below Sushi On. No Sashimi. Pho is good and have great selection of soup and desert. For $10 (or 9 with coupon) per person for lunch, you can't beat this place. They had good crab for lunch and good selection of seafood. Lots of Latino and Filipino friendly Chinese American Food. Althought salad is limited, they have Chinese style cooked vegetable for health conscious eaters. Great family environment, lots of old people. Remind me of eating on cruise ships.

This restaurant is surprisingly very delicious for a buffet restaurant. Everything from the hot and sour soup, to the seafood, which was fresh and delicious. The wife really liked the crawfish and shrimp. They also have pho as part of the buffet. The price is also very reasonable...we paid around $35 for two adults and one child for lunch on Saturday. The wait staff is also excellent!

Smh So I went in with my two kids and everything was So band. If it had any flavor, it tasted awful. The sushi tasted so bad I ended up spitting out 80% of what I put in my mouth. Not just me, but my kids couldn’t stomach the food. I gave them a try and tasted even the most popular dishes that most buffets can’t mess up like the beef and broccoli. Nope! Everything was just nasty. Yes, I used strong words like AWFUL and NASTY because that’s just what it was. We get to desserts. The one thing we were craving were the sugar donuts. They were stale rocks! I wish I took a picture and video of them. No good. So I had it... I went to the person in charge and she insists that in 20 years they’ve been open, I was the only person to ever complain about their food. Yeah right! I’m not buying that. The place is empty so I’m obviously not the first to see their food is not good. Well, she kept asking to see my ticket. She wanted to see if I was here for over 20 minutes which. I was trying to taste a bit of everything to find something worth the $37 I just spent here. Well, I passed the 20 minute mark so she didn’t give me my money back. I even showed her the rocks she called donuts and she took them away and brought out a fresh batch that were a 4 out of 10. Never again! Save yourself the $ and eat somewhere else. Btw, even the jello was bland. Who messes up jello??
