Great food.. Terrible seating! Watch your knees on the legs of the tables. The repurposed tables are too wide for conversation and are awkward to get on and out of. Not to mention if you have to share a table with strangers!

Great little spot to stop at either coming or going from New Brunswick. Easy to find. Just Google restaurants near me once you get into Calais. Food was fresh and locally grown as much as possible. What wasn't local was very high quality. Prices, reasonable. Oh and the staff was fantastic in both service and personality.

While this place is different from the normal restaurants around Calais I have had one too many bad experiences to give it a higher rating. The new policy where you have to pay to have things taken off your burger too is just ridiculous.

Had the fish and chips, used two napkins to soak up the grease. Everything taste the same, didn't make it home before I got sick. Won't be going back, service was great, food was terrible.

The decor is the nicest in Calais! Fish and chips were excellent, fries were great, tomato bisque and grilled cheese were very good, and our desserts (raspberry pie and raspberry lemon cake) were yummy. Will definitely be back!

Very unpleasant experience. Ordered a large appetizer of chicken, waitress took the order of everyone else at the table and came back to me, and I said "No, I'm just having the chicken." After she brought out the chicken appetizer that I ordered, she brought a chicken basket. SAME THING but with fries and cole slaw. After I told her I didn't order it, she apologized and said she thought I said I wanted the chicken basket. She didn't take it off the bill or even offer. I paid, but that was the last straw for me. Don't guess on orders, write it down, and if you have questions... ASK. Oh, and please change your grease once in a while.

Yancy's is a fun country-style restaurant. The lobster rolls are delicious, in perfectly toasted buns with just a touch of greens (no celery or paprika). The mayo was plentiful but not overwhelming. The fries are just as good. They are nicely crispy but not too small. Order a side of gravy for the perfect touch. Loved it! I will definitely be back when we return to Calais.

We were visiting Eastport and Calais during July 4th weekend. Needed a place to have a late dinner and stumbled onto Yancy's. It was 7:30pm (they closed at 8) and the waitress was extremely warm and welcoming. She treated us as if we were the only ones there. Ordered the buffalo tenders and they were some of the best any of us have ever had. Pizza was also delicious (albeit a little more sauce would make it excellent). Very good environment, service and food.

We arrived just before they closed, yet they served us without pressure! The food was amazing and efficient. The service was friendly and welcoming. I had their turkey club and it was delish! The turkey was real not processed. The bacon was lovely and crisp not fatty. Our children ordered the kids pizza and it came out shaped like a cat!!! They loved it! And ate it up completely. My husband ordered a pizza and as he is really picky I was amazed when he said one of the best pizzas he has had in North America! The ingredients were fresh, the sauce was light but moist and the dough was properly cooked like a homemade pizza should be. I highly recommend this restaurant and if you can make a detour to swing by you will not be disappointed!

Nice little spot, it was clean the staff was very friendly, the burger was great the fries are tasty not very big portions but not pricey either, you get enough that you can have dessert or leave not feeling guilty for eating more than you should have, the club house is tasty aswell, I would definitely recommend this place. Here in Washington County, Maine, an establishment that offers great food and good atmosphere, is a rare and welcome pleasure. Yancy's has always been these things. Everything on there menu will be the best offered in the town of Calais. My family has never been disappointed in the quality of the food or it's taste. However, there are a few glaring drawbacks to being a patron of Yancy's. - They once offered the community home delivery, but unfortunately brought this much appreciated and needed service to an end over a year ago. - Most unfortunately, the service has not been good for about two years now. In the winter months of 2013, I took a friend to Yancy's for an evening date. While there we witnessed something neither one of us could believe. Our waitress was cleaning a table near us. In the process she dropped a spoon on the floor. Rather than pick it up, she proceeded to kick it repeatedly from our table until she reached the kitchen area. As she did this, the silverware screeched across the tiled floor as all of the patrons watched in horror and disgust. - Also, in regards to the service, calling for anything by telephone is an un- pleasant experience. You are always put on hold or made to feel like you are putting somebody out. As a result, my family rarely calls for takeout anymore. Sometimes we even settle for inferior food somewhere else just because the service offered is more pleasant. - As a final example, my daughter and I went there about a month ago to pick up a pizza. I paid with my bank card, and asked the lady behind the register for change for dollar so my daughter could buy some candy form one of their vending machines. The lady looked us right in the eye and told us she didn't have any change. We knew this was a lie, as we had waited in a small line, and witnessed the exchange of change and bills. Rather than make an issue of it, we simply accepted it as being part of our normal experience at Yancy's. So, there you have it; great food, good atmosphere, with service that I really hope improves because their food is the best.

Great Experience... We stopped here today as we were making our way north and I’m glad we did. Our waitress was very accommodating and friendly and went out of her way to make sure we were pleased. I had the beer battered haddock fish and chips and my wife had their burger with homemade mashed potatoes. Nothing fancy but very fresh and tasty. We are glad we stopped and would recommend others to do so as well.

Originally from calais, living in south Carolina now, home visiting, went to Yancy's. ..had the lobster roll lunch special, was realllly looking forward to a downeast maine lobstah roll......was verrrrry disappointed. ..am guessing the lobster rolls were made from frozen lobster.....no taste to them, very blande.....the lobster was actually very mushy.....the worst lobster rolls i had ever had.....and we have eaten a lotttttt of lobster!! Only redeeming factor of this visit.......the service was great!!!

Oh yeah man. Just went here for the first time in my life and man am I glad I did. Great atmosphere, nice staff and it was bustling. The food was good but the fries... Oh man the fries are among the best If not the best I've ever had. I will be going back again and bathing in fries. Look for it in the papers. Yancys is good most times. The one guy who works there is phenomenal. Very fast, knowledgeable and attentive. Sauce is too much like tomato soup not a rich Italian marinara or anything. Salads often wilty.

Awful. Only really popular with Canadians. Had fish and chips and the fish batter was extremely greasy. Portions were among the smallest i have had anywhere in the world. The wifes chicken was ice cold, probably not even thawed out properly. They claim the food is all natural and this is nonesense. Won't be back, had 2 bad experiences in a row.
