The food was delicious and the service spectacular! The wait was 45 min and with three little kids we were on the fence of staying, but a manger came out and was able to find us a table 10min into waiting to seat all of us. I had the whole belly clams which surprisingly had no sand and was perfect. I also ordered the sweet tea vodka drink, which was refreshing. Other dishes we had we're fish tacos, chicken wrap sandwich, fish and chips, crab cake salad, kids pasta and kids chicken tenders. We will definitely be back here!

Staff was horrible. Not once were we checked on to see if we needed anything. I asked for more rolls and never recieved them. She filled our drinks once, never filled my 7yr olds. the atmosphere was ok. Price was outrageous, for 2 bowls of chowder,a kids meal,chicken ceaser wrap,and app of jerk chicken wings it was $57! For $57 we could have gotten all seafood dinner items and an app for 3 ppl and a child's meal at litchfields. The waitress was bland and had no personality for a sports bar. And didnt pay attention to any of her customers unless they were sitting next to the bar. They dont have a pos system which I find nuts they still swipe your card with the kind of credit machine that connects to the phone line. Even the cost of a drink is outrageous, we ordered a drink for my 15month old that btw doesn't come with the meal of his which was $5.95 for a grilled cheese and fries the drink charge was $3 for a cup with half apple juice and half water!!!! $3!!!! That was more than a soda which was 2.75. Needless to say I do not recommend them at all.oh and dont forget how the chicken ceaser wrap had no flavor!

Hours on the website lie. We were visiting Maine from Utah and on our last night wanted to get some sea food one more time. We drove 40 minutes because they were the only place that was going to be open in time for us to get there. When we arrived around 8:50 we were rudely dismissed and told they were closed. It clearly states on their website and their door they were open until 9:30.

Nice little place. Stopped for lunch and had the clam strips which were very light and tasty. The tartar sauce was also different, but very good. And I really enjoyed the cole slaw which had a tint of sweetness. Lastly, it was nice they had a small fire going to sit by and keep warm.

Got the combo of a 1/2 rack ribs and freshly cut chicken fingers with a baked potato and fries. The chicken fingers were delish although I wasn't a fan of the ranch nor the buffalo sce. The bbq sce on the ribs was tasty but the ribs were not edible. Tough and chewy.. no good at all. The baked patato was very dry but the fries were good. Place is very clean and staff is friendly. If this review was just about the food it would have been a 1 star. It is a seafood joint but sadly I dont eat seafood

We happened upon this restaurant on a Monday evening following a severe winter storm and most other restaurants in the area were closed. It was a wonderful experience! The service was very attentive and the food was outstanding! The scallops were fresh and very well prepared. The butternut squash was the best I have ever eaten! It was a tasteful, great experience!

Did I mention the awesome food? I had clam strips and a shrimp cocktail that were both out of this world. Visited this restaurant on the referral of our hotel, for family friendly restaurants. I Would not recommend a family eat here. 3 options for kids, chicken tenders, pasta and grilled cheese. My kids had horribly dry pasta and Chicken tenders. My wife and I both had a choose your own combo and a cocktail. Food is mediocre at best, service was horrible, never even got a refill for my water. At the end our sever tagged on 18% gratuity. Ended up paying over $100 for mediocre food and giving our horrible server a $16 tip. I mean if your going to pre charge me your gratuity at least give me good service. Bad business practice!

The New England House never disappoints!! I am always amazed when I go and try something different that it exceeds all my expectations! I tried the fried clams and they are maybe the best I have ever had and I have been eating seafood locally for 50 years. I 'm excited to go back and try something else. Don't pass up a chance to go, try something new!

This was our first visit and it won't be our last . Loved the atmosphere . We sat at the open-air bar. We were inside, but it was open to the outside. There is outside seating as well. Very friendly place to hang out . Lots of TVS to watch. Great for a Red Sox fan like myself. Food is good, served quickly. Will definitely go back.

I went with party on Sunday with 8 people ..ordered a seafood plate to split with my gf..when food arrived 20 minutes later in half filled dining room I looked upon a platter of french fries..3 scallops 3 clams 3 shrimp.and a small 3 in rectangle of fish...At this point I was of course disappointed ..Waitess brought owner i let him know that i felt this was a poor entree..fishermans platter He said u have 14 ounces fresh seafood there...like i should be impressed..He did ask if id rather have another entree.perferred not to wait another 20 minutes...also the clams like rubber so much for fresh...Top it off waitstuff was less than attentive and made faces when asked for assistance...Not enjoyable

Horrible experience.... wanted a salad topped with what they say is "daily cooked turkey" as I don't want deli turkey.. ....was told from waitress it was a cooked turkey..........salad came with Julianne slices on top..... so any cook knows that you CANNOT slice turkey like that...... told waitress I didn't want........Then the cook/owner came out to dispute me.... said " do you want me bring carcass to show we cook them.."...... Simply appalled..... and to top off.... we were asked to leave and NEVER COME BACK!! I could go on with stuff my husband experienced but you get the point........

Possible that Friday and Saturday made the difference because it was busier. Ordered the Lobster with pasta which was bland and tomatoes were just thrown in. So first day the food was great and tge second day it was marginal .

Very disgusted with how they treat there patrons. Had a 25 minute wait for a family of 5. My husband and another couple went to bar to get drinks waited 10 mins just to be told someone would be with them shortly even though she was a bartender not doing anything. Our money wasn't good enough here so we left as did other couple. Will never go back.

Any good things this restaurant has going for it is ruined by the wait time and service you receive. Had to wait close to 30 minutes to put our order in for two people, and another 40 minutes to receive our food. It did not seem to be like a busy night, and the staff ignored the fact that we where waiting forever. If you have a very large amount of time you are trying to kill, this is probably the only function this place would serve.

Having previous dinned here on 3 other occasions I must say my last meal was less than acceptable. The fried sea scallop platter was a disappointment. The prior two times I ordered the scallops my meal was great, last night the portion size was less than half of what I was previously served, the scallops were dry and seemed either over cooked or not fresh. The scallops were much smaller in size and many were the size of a thumb nail. Very disappointing. The french fries were not hot and were hard and dry, however the cole slaw was very good.

This restaurant offers excellent value. The food is always fresh and perfectly prepared. The service is friendly and prompt. The prices are surprisingly affordable, even during the high season. The rather plain sports bar ambiance and noise level may not appeal to everyone, but this is an unpretentious place that serves great food and drink at a great price. Parking is somewhat limited and can sometimes be a challenge, but with the fairly rapid turnover you can usually score a spot after a short wait as people leave.

It’s too bad... food lacked flavor.. potatoes needed salt and pepper... served with a ice cream scoop.. it’s like elementary school... steak unseasoned as well.. drinks were mostly ice.. clams and fries we’re very bland again lacking salt and any kind of seasoning..70 bucks for 2 meals 2 drinks and a kids meal.. way overpriced and boring.. won’t ever go back... service was cold not friendly...

When the place we were planning on for dinner was closed for the season, we drove around for quite a while looking for somewhere to get dinner. From the outside, this looked like a motel. Once inside, it is spacious and clean. Has a 'dive bar' feel. We sat at the bar, where the t.v's seemed to be pretty close up. Friendly bartender, and definitely a spot for locals. Food was very good : started with the fried fish bites, which were delicious. Dinner was a generous serving of fried seafood, she substituted a ceasar salad for the Cole slaw, at no charge, and we also had the grilled shrimp skewers-6 large seasoned shrimp (a bit overcooked and chewy, but tasty) served with a baked potato and some green beans which looked to have been pan cooked and very well dressed and yummy. Great mixed drinks, friendly staff and regulars. We were pleasantly surprised!

We were a party of 10 and stopped in ahead of time to confirm that we could be accomodated, no problem be here at 6pm. We show up at 6pm and told to wait an hour. So we ask to sit outside as it is a hot day and not busy outside. The waiter brings menus and the manager comes out and and takes the menus away and says "no they are on a wait". 20 minutes later we are told we will get waited on at some point...when they have enough staff. Terrible service.

While I can’t share about my experience dining in, here is mine getting takeout. I decided to go with something simple, calamari and clam chowder , by the time I got home (roughly 10 minuteS) my calamari was a soggy disappointing mess. Why you say? Because of the obscene amount of lettuce (which is the first time along the coast I have gotten fried calamari with lettuce under it). I was severely disappointed but alas my reason for getting takeout was because of immense back pain and I didn’t want to have to trek it back to ask why , why would you put soggy lettuce under fried food when it gets soggier and does leave a different taste to the food. Overall portions were ok, clam chowder was also disappointing in size and how the cup was filled (I ordered a bowl) and my sprite was pretty much flat by the time I got to the car. Hopefully those that dine in will get a better experience but if your getting takeout I would not expect the same supposed service.

Service wasn't friendly. Over priced, small portion, even for the area. Had a great value dinner elsewhere the following night. Parmesan scallops were horrible, way too much salty, no other flavor. Loud, cafeteria style seating. Not impressed. Had the food been good I would have left 3 stars.

AWESOME!! We stumbled upon this restaurant while vacationing and let me tell you THE BEST FIND OUT THERE!! The atmosphere was pleasant, the staff was excellent and the food- incredible.Prices are very reasonable. Everything was fresh. We wanted to eat everything! We started off with 3 appetizers- onion rings, mussels and the nachos with the artichoke and spinach dip- delicious, Fried Clam platter, Fish and chips, fish sandwich and chicken sandwich all were excellent and of course we (4 of us) shared an ice cream sundae. Heaven on a plate- whipped cream was homemade, ice cream was perfect, perfect amount of hot fudge and a nice big cone that we all got to taste! If you haven't tried this place, go you will not be disappointed. Better yet don't go so when we go again, we dont have to wait a long time to be seated!
