REVIEWS OF The Honey Paw IN Maine

You'll have to excuse the hipness, but the dishes are inspired and very good. The communal seating (you might get seated at a big table) wasn't a big deal. The beer menu was decent and the service was excellent. Portland standards are high and this place meets them easily.

Dan Granucci

Absolutely amazing meal. The lobster wontons and the halibut collar special were 2 of the best dishes I have eaten. Service was fantastic and prices were reasonable. We were recommended to go to this place by a local guide and were very grateful. 10/10 did recommend to a friend

Tyler Stevens

The ice cream at this place is the best dessert you will ever cram into your hole. Absolutely perfect, especially the honeycomb one that is always on the menu. Mind blowing. The other one on special this day was salted caramel pretzel, which also slapped so freakin hard.

Daniel Coes

We eat at the Honey Paw whenever we're in Portland. We've been coming here for years and since it opened it has consistently been the best meal of every trip. It's also in a fun social place that is group and kid friendly! Suggest coming for lunch as dinner can be a squeeze. The lamb Khao Soi is unreal.

David Setzermann

Just amazing noodles and perfectly balanced cocktails!

John Vo

Good music. Good food. Delicious drinks. The bartender took great pride in his mixology. We had the lobster won tons.

benjculver

Great food. Love the soft serve. Personally, it seems like every time I'm there, I don't enjoy 1 thing I order. Staff is always on point.

Paul L

Exquisite food and beverage, exceptional service from Kevin behind the bar.

Steve Mathieu

Delicious ramen!

Stephanie Carter

We went on Sundays and they play awesome hip hop. Food was great, it's a shared plate place though, so the portions are pretty small

Marit Ivory

The food was excellent. Good service. Small portions. Be prepared to sit at the bar or a communal table.

Dan Mutty

The Khoa Soi and Fried Chicken were incredible

Elizabeth Aring-Shanklin

Great food and service. Love the craft drinks.

After a whirlwind food tour through Portland, I can confidently say Honey Paw was hands down my favorite experience. Firstly, while I'm sure there is sometimes a wait, my bf and I didn't have to put our names on a list for a 1 hour+ wait to dine here. The decor was trendy but still inspired by elements of Maine. We ordered the MATSUTAKE DONBURI and SMOKED LAMB KHAO SOI (excuse the caps, copied from their menu). The mushroom dish was both hot and cold and was one of the most elegant dishes I've ever had. My fave was the pate like mousse on the tamago and the little tempura crisps in their rice seasoning. The curry noodle dish was also delicious! At first, it came out lukewarm but the kitchen quickly remade a fresh bowl for me. I love their use of the mustard greens and the broth wasn't too salty (as many "ramens" are or too heavy). The noodles were also perfectly cooked. As a small apology for the mistake with my dish, they brought out a sample of their banana ice cream. Holy cow it was SO good and fresh, served with chocolate and pie crust. My favorite overall dining experience in Portland because the environment was welcoming, each dish had something special, and my mouth is literally watering as I write this review now. I would make the 2 hour drive any weekend to eat here again.

Food 5/5, Service 5/5, Atmosphere 5/5! A nice change of pace from all the seafood in Portland!

Braeme Thurrell

Phenomenal takes on traditional Asian dishes in a cozy communal dining setting. The cocktails were excellent as well. We'll definitely be going back soon.

Jules Pearson

Great little Asian place sister to Eventide - good flavors, beers and not too badly priced

Tyrone Smith

Food is tasty. Tapas like atmosphere.

Diane Stowell

Can't believe we haven't been here before. Unbelievable meal. The green papaya salad was very fresh tasting and a little zippy. Really enjoyed the Paenang curry and Thom Kha. Our favorite was the wok seared eggplant. Our waitress was helpful and attentive.

Jordan Hess

The food is good but the layout when busy is a cluster. A giant island in the middle takes up the bulk of the restaurant and seems like a waste of space. I give the food 5 stars, the service 2-3 stars, and the layout 1 star.

Dan Granucci

I found the Honey Paw to be a decently over priced asian amalgamation over asian fusion. The atmosphere is cramped and can get quite loud. If your looking for seating you can converse in with more than one other person, that is going to be difficult. The main portions of seating are bar style, or these very tiny two person tables. If you get the right food it can be tasty, but most of it is done in the typical 'fancy' resturants small plates style which I almost never find to be worth it bar a couple exceptions. The food i had often felt close but not quite right to the original sources, and I would have prefered to just go somewhere that served them closer to the original styles. I found the kimchi to be too vinegar in flavor, and didnt feel like the gochujang flavor didnt show through. Its hard to go wrong with what is essentially savory fried dough, but i feel it was too expensive. The miso ramen was decent. Im not sure how you can make a miso broth not salty enough though. Its hard to mess up ramen in miso with veg and a pork belly. But to be honest, I would not come here again, nor would i reccomend it to anyone. The staff was lovely but the food just isnt worth it.

Pitcha S.

Excellent asian fusion foods!

Kirsten L.

Wonderful, really well balanced food. The true testament is eating until you sweat, but needing that one last bite. Really delicious. Fast, nice, and friendly staff.

Tyler Stevens

The ice cream at this place is the best dessert you will ever cram into your hole. Absolutely perfect, especially the honeycomb one that is always on the menu. Mind blowing. The other one on special this day was salted caramel pretzel, which also slapped so freakin hard.

Robert Atwood

Great food, a bit more than a $$ rating though, unless you think $18 is $$. More like $$$ for lunch.

Wei Ma

Hipster noodle shop with some decent dishes but lack in authenticity and portion. Our khao soi was very flavorful, but unfortunately the other two noodle dishes were lackluster. The miso ramen was tiny, and bland. The BiangBiang Noodle smelled really great, but was quite overcooked and was overall uninspired. Overall, the three dishes came out to about $64 dollars and we felt like we just ate three appetizers rather than main dishes. I think in the future, larger portion sizes and focus on amping up the flavor would bring us back to the Honey Paw.

halfalck

It’s lit!

John Clutterbuck

Lobster toast, lobster wontons, green papaya salad (spicy!) were top notch. Valerie G was a great help!

Vanessa Nosotti

This place is unbelievable. We were four so we shared most things on the menu. Each dish was as good if not better than the last. A special mention for the Vietnamese Masa Crepe and the Smoked Lamb Khao Soi. Wow!

Joe Clancy

The lamb curry, fried chicken and bok choy were delicious highly recommended

Martha Nyce

Only had appetizers and drinks but very good flavors . The kimchi was fantastic.

Gordon Merrick

Best khao soi I've had since a noodle cart in Chiang Rai Thailand. Service is great, venue is amazing, drink list is imaginative.

Meggan Dwyer

Best restaurant in Portland.

patrick battoe

Stopped in for a few apps. Friendly staff and great food.

Zach Zobary

Usually when you have food and a drink menu this good and hand-picked and it’s tapas style, you expect hipster stuffiness and overpriced meal. Neither of these things are true here. This place is fantastic, with the lobster curry and smoked lamb khoi soy being my favorites, and their cucumber soft-serve being a great end to the meal you shouldn’t miss.

Ben Roberts-Sano

Best meal I had in Portland. Props to the bartender, had commanding knowledge of the menus and made great recommendations and cocktails

Christopher Reichert

Amazing flavors, great vibe. Love the LPs

Kathleen McFadden

Recommend the fry bread with uni butter and papaya salad. Nice alternative to the heavy food that is typical of most throws to Portland!

Isaac Nothem

Food is amazing. Everything we ate was even better than the prior dish. Also the staff is very friendly. Constantly checking in on the group and offering recommendations

Tom Bander

Great lobster toast and wontons. Also enjoyed the chowder ramen and tom kha.

somkietr rojanasathit

Lively atmosphere with Asian fusion cuisine. I was here 5 years ago and the restaurant is still going strong. Service is top knot. Price is reasonable.

Zack Gerber

Small restaurant with huge flavors. Everything I tried on the menu was delicious! Food came out fast and the staff was attentive even though it was slammed during peak season.

Chris Mlynek

Everything was absolutely delicious, service was great! Would highly recommend for brunch or dinner.

Abby Baker

The food was good but it's pretty pricey for small plates, the noodles are definitely a better deal than anything else

Shannon O'Toole

Cocktails, apps, and noodles all were good. Slightly cramped, but that's typical for a noodle bar. Staff worked as a team to refresh drinks, clear dishes, and pick up checks.

Keith Rosenstiel

The rare beef appetizer was so good we ordered a second. The poke was OK, but everything else we ordered was excellent.

Michael Gorelik

Inventive fusion in heart of Old Port

Kevin Sandes

One of the places in town that I intentionally don't go to very often just to keep it the treat that it is. Soft serv is a must!

somkietr rojanasathit

Lively atmosphere with Asian fusion cuisine. I was here 5 years ago and the restaurant is still going strong. Service is top knot. Price is reasonable.

Michael Barthelette

One of my favorite restaurants in Portland. Innovative menu and substantial cocktail list that goes well with Portland and the food in general.

Heidi Kurniawan

Decent food but a little overpriced - I had the crab and pork mee goreng and honestly could not taste any crab at all. For $18, it didn’t feel super worth it. The space is really nice and I’m sure they have other good things on their menu, but I’m not sure I will be returning.

Oded Kraus

Second time visiting this place. Amazing flavors and great service

Jason Gitlitz

If you like food you'll probably love this place. That's as positive a review about a restaurant as I can give.

zachary cyphers

Great ramen bowls

Chin Zhi Hui

Decent Asian fusion restaurant operating in centra Portland, ME. We had the Biang Biang noodles and the Burmese Curry. The curry was rich and the smells of lemongrass and coconut cake through. The noodles were well blanched, and had good consistency. While it does not pretend to be an authentic restaurant, rest assured that the food that comes out is quality and wonderfully prepared.

Susan Silberman

Fresh, intense flavors, our new favorite in Portland

Roy Kiesler

Loved the Rojo cider and the Bigeye Tuna Poke! Who needs to stand in line for two hours next dood?

Stephen Manuel

I am totally in love with this noodle place. Took me back to Thailand, Singapore, and Penang. Wait staff is awesome and friendly, they know their stuff and can describe the dishes. Ate their three out of five nights in Portland.

Samer Hamad

I had lunch here while passing through Portland, and the food was great. The lamb noodle dish was unique and flavorful, and the fried chicken with kimchi was also a surprisingly great combination. The servers were friendly and the food came out in good time.

anne schaepers

Tasty food

Zack Gerber

Small restaurant with huge flavors. Everything I tried on the menu was delicious! Food came out fast and the staff was attentive even though it was slammed during peak season.

Sean O'Dell

Very good food in a cool hipster atmosphere. The chili lime wings were amazing in flavor, and it was a huge portion. The fried chicken sandwich with homemade chips was delicious. Very juicy chicken and unique flavors.

Chris Mlynek

Everything was absolutely delicious, service was great! Would highly recommend for brunch or dinner.

Amethyst Depeter

Delicious food and welcoming environment!

Paul Cote

Great charcuterie

Jennifer MacDonald

First time eating at The Honey Paw, and it didn't disappoint! The seating is tricky, as most is at a bar top vs. tables, which can make conversing tough, but the food and beverages are amazing.

Abbey Winslow

Good is very exotic, if you like exotic food go here.

Sarah Fountain

The Tom Kha was incredible. Like, holy tastebud heaven. However, the price was too high and the portion was too small. I would rather be charged $5 more for a full meal, than pay $18 for not-enough-of-a-meal. About halfway through I knew I'd need something else to satiate my hunger, so I was gearing up to order the wings but my waitress never checked on me despite the restaurant being empty. Eventually someone else came and took my bowl. I think the owner? Anyway. Great food but bummer to leave hungry at that price point.

Ingrid Wilson

Great flavor of the wok charred veggies and gado gado. Hope to come back and taste more!

Tim Faass

Food tasted fine but the real issue is the price for the serving size. I got pork belly ramen and received only one slice of pork belly for $18. The SO got a crab and pork dish that had literally no crab. Or at the very least, not a single taste of crab. Again it tasted good it just felt like both dishes short changed us. Will not return given the expansive food scene in Portland.

Sarah Gumlak

Such tasty noms! Super friendly service as well! Long wait at prime time, kinda loud, but that's pretty standard for this town these days. Sadly the soft serve machine was broken and I couldn't try the famous dessert, so maybe I'll add the last star if I can try that sometime.

Mandie Djokro

My husband and I finally decided to use honey paw gift certificate that our friend gave us as our wedding gift. I didn't expect much at first. But I was surprised with how the food taste. It was very good and on top of that, the service were beyond expectation as well. The chicken wing appetizer is a must!

MaryBeth Moriarty

You can’t go wrong here. Even if you aren’t a huge fan of Asian food, the fusion aspect with fresh ingredients makes the experience palatable for everyone. Caution this is a smaller restaurant so wait time can be long and the ambiance can be loud.

Thomas Thrasher

Justin B was outstanding! Great customer service fantastic food

Brittany Cole

Favorite restaurant in Portland

Paula Downes

We only had one night in Portland so choosing the right place to eat when theres so many options was tough. I'm glad we chose the Honey Paw! The lobster wontons were the star of the show for me but everything we got was delicious. Can't go wrong here.

Sara Beith

Excellent food. Very fast service. Top three restaurants of all time for us, and we’ve eaten at some pretty incredible places. We came back the day after because we had to try another three things on the menu, each dish just as good if not better than the last. Highly. Recommend.

Paula Downes

Rebekah Hwang

The place is really nice and hip. Food was a little expensive for what it was. A tad too salty but nevertheless still good. Good service.

Oliver Berlic

This place is amazing. Being a record junkie I was instantly impressed at their music selection and their in laid decks. The food was incredible we had pho and the fried chicken sandwich. They were both delicious and very complex in taste. I would highly recommend them to anyone visiting the area.

Becca Jones

Delicious and awesome. Wait usually isn't that long! I love the community table. My favorite is their wok fried rice noodles and the vietnamese crepe!

Lindsey Coppola

The best meal I've eaten in Portland. I'm so happy we stumbled upon this place. I got the Lamb Khao Soi. It was unbelieveable and beautiful to look at. Perfect amount of spicy. I also got the British Invasion cocktail. The other members of our party are not as adventurous with food and they enjoyed their sandwiches/salad. Inspirational Vietnamese coffee. The staff was above and beyond friendly in Portland style.

Briant Gaudet

Excellent food. Great service.

Greg Ulirsch

Great place!

Derek Viger

Excellent meal. Definitely returning

Danielle Martin

We had been planning on coming here for weeks, and even got a hotel room downtown so we’d be close to the restaurant on our road trip. The website says walk ins only, so I didn’t call to make a reservation. When we got there (early, before 5, on a Friday night), they were closed for a private party. We were very disappointed, as I doubt we will ever be in Portland again.

Aimee Huard

Be sure to try the lobster toast. Everything we had was delicious, but the lobster toast was something different and exceptional.

Dan Fields

My favorite restaurant in Portland, and that is saying something given the abundance of great eateries in the city. The lobster wontons are so good it's almost eerie. The smoked lamb khao soi is bar none the best lamb dish you will ever have. The menu is on the pricier side, but given the quality and high-attention to detail in each dish, you're definitely getting what you pay for.

Andrew Roseman

This food is phenomenal goin in and goin out ya feel me

Gregorio Nieto

Delicious, devine, superb food. Staff was amazing and friendly, the host and the waitress were super helpful in navigating the menu, full of tantalizing options.

Heli Silva

Honey paw aka Flavor Town never dissapoints. Hip , delicious, and addicting.

Lauren Schmitt

Very good food and bar service, just be mindful if you can't handle the spice!

Jacob Firle

Really fantastic food! You’ll not be disappointed with anything you order and the atmosphere and staff are all awesome too. Go and you’ll get it!

Raymond Laning

We loved every entree

Andrew Schwartz

Blew away my expectations. Every dish a perfectly crafted delight: crispy & fluffy lobster toast, spicy, mala, and savory mapo tofu, perfect noodles in a soul melting curry broth. Uni butter on crispy fry bread, yes please. Gets crowded, so come early, go off hours, whatever, just make it happen.

Wonchan Song

I loved lobster curry and fried bread.

Richard Pace

Excellent ... My second time ...just as good as the first ..great staff

Roger Shepard

Amazing dishes, get here, right meow

David Webb

Good atmosphere, shared large table and barstool seating along window. Food is a little pricey but really solid. Smaller portion for lunch but very rich in flavor. Will certainly go back to try a few other things.

Melinda Hart

It's a very small and specific menu, but what they offer is amazing! I've never gone with more than one other person, as it is a cozy little spot. They have a great bar too, if you're making a quick stop. If you want high quality Asian fusion and noodles in Portland, this place is a must!

Steve Blomquist

Amazing Asian inspired food, with well developed complex flavors!

Gerri Dowling

There's a strange vibe at The Honey Paw... as if they're doing you a favor by letting you spend your money there. That said, despite the lack of prompt & warm service, the cocktails (The I.D.K. & Mule) were phenomenal, the khao soi was devine and savory but the tuna special left something to be desired. It was difficult to tolerate the noise and pretense, but the quality of the food makes it all worth it.

labby Jane

Best Ramen I've ever had. Very nice staff as well. Cheers!

ken dabkowski

The food presentation was beautiful and the food was very solid. Small portions but very classy. I'm giving it five stars for the mixed drinks. Best I had in Portland!

Martin Conte

The food at honeypaw is excellent. There’s something about it that’s just so delicious— a perfect spice level, a perfect crunch level, a perfect sauce level. I’ve been back a half dozen times, and the food, service, interior, are all five star worthy. So I’m now begging you honeypaw PLEASE, change your seating plan or incorporate sound absorption into your decoration. Sitting in the restaurant is a little like sitting in a wood chipper. It is SO LOUD inside. Extremely tall ceilings, cement floor, and seating that doesn’t allow you to interact with anyone more than the person directly next to you makes the dining experience unfortunately uncomfortable. Maybe I’ll be able to update my review when I go back with noise-canceling headphones, but until then the assault on my ears unfortunately outweighs the delight of my tastebuds.

Rachel Therrien

Lobster and crab wontons, lobster toast and heirloom tomatoes salad were outstanding!

Whitney Brown

Delicious! Loved the fried chicken. Excellent spot in Portland.

Kenric Bird

The food is consistently interesting, and delicious. The portions tend to be modest, but quite satisfying. The service is always very pleasant.

Amy Johnson

Eat the lamb curry...you won't regret it!

Theo Blood

We enjoyed the Smoked Lamb Khao Soi made with a Burmese coconut curry. Spicy and good. The space is nice with communal seating and big glass windows looking out on Portland. We were lucky to be there as the sun was setting with beautiful pink clouds in the distance. The music is loud enough that hearing each other was difficult. All in all, will come back to try more of the menu.

Chris Bowles

Kevin is an awesome bartender, drinks were great

BeantownEater

The honey paw is well known and Everytime that I wanted to try them, there was always a wait. Today, the wait want to bad. We got outside seating. The staff was so Friendly and helpful. We got the Vietnamese crepe and the lamb khoi Soi. Both were so delicious and full of flavor. The Vietnamese crepe definitely wasnt like a traditional Vietnamese one but it was still a perfect alternative. The lamb khoi Soi was fantastic. The lamb tasted slow cooked and had no game taste. The curry was rich and not to spicy. Everything in the dish was perfect. It's not to pricy. Definitely, will be back

Sara Beith

Excellent food. Very fast service. Top three restaurants of all time for us, and we’ve eaten at some pretty incredible places. We came back the day after because we had to try another three things on the menu, each dish just as good if not better than the last. Highly. Recommend.

Kelly Parker Broker/Realtor

Kelly Parker, Maine Real Estate Broker, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate The Masiello Group- GREAT food and times with friends

Nili Persits

Great place. Wonderful service, amazing food!

Em B

Must try their soft serve!

Darshan Shah

Amazing food, definitely worth a try.

Margot Rutledge

We ordered the special, Bibimbap, which is a rice dish with a short rib skewer. It was $28.00. The short rib wasn't great and we got 3 little pieces. The rest was white rice and vegetables with egg. Felt we payed way to much for what we got. Not even delicious. Very disappointing. Will not return.

Christopher Flansburg

A really nice Noodle spot. Plus anyplace that has aquavit line is ok in my book. Yummy. go. now.

Anh Pham

Unpretentious, skillfully prepared and plated essence of Asia. I had the cold cut banh mi, rare beef salad, and fried chicken sandwich and was highly impressed by the flavor and texture play. Serving sizes are on the small side, coming from a glutton. Waiting staff is chipper and the food came fast. The bread on these sandwiches was off the hook. Bathroom has a cool flat slab sink and dramatic lighting.

Stephanie Moya

Get the lobster toast. Do it. Worth it. Wings were also exquisite. We shared the lamb noodles after eating all that and it was perfect portions and a beautiful meal! Finish it off with the honeycomb soft serve!

Cody Hussey

Consistently excellent food with a rotating menu alongside some favorites. Recommend to anyone visiting!

Zach Byrne

The salted caramel soft serve was amazing.

Steven Marzza

One of the best noodle spots in portland.

Justianna Andrews

Delicious food! Balanced and thoughtful fun drinks and Amazing Waitstaff!!! Don't be intimitaded by the line (if there his one when you visit) that's a good sign that you're in the right place! Atmosphere is fresh and fun, comfortable but still special and unique- we were there for lunch on a Saturday. It is a super cool and family friendly spot for adventurous little ones and parents during the day, and at night, a Perfect date spot to try something new and exciting! Our waitress was amazing and knowledgeable, the food runner was just as impressive and helpful and the drinks were phenomenal and came quick! My partner and I shared the chicken wings appetizer (hands down the best wings I've had in years!)My Best advice: just get funky, try something new, and have fun- hit up The Honey Paw and you won't be disappointed -

Yann Finkelstein

Delicious food, but be prepared for a little spice kick! The 2 dishes my wife and I got were pretty spicy! Would have been nice to know ahead of time so we could mentally prepare :p.... otherwise, the service was great!! Our server ran to my wife when we swapped dishes (so I could eat more) to make sure she wouldn't eat mine (my wife is gluten free). Very cool menu and nice little spot. Check it out!

David Harlor

Only thing as good as the food was the service. Quick bite. Small bill. Fast turn. Great service.

James Keller

The starters were amazing! Littleneck clams and the tuna poke were our choice. We absolutely will return!

Jennifer Shaw

Great service and atmosphere, but based on the two items we ordered I have to say the food is a bit hit or miss. We shared the smoked lamb noodle bowl and the 1/2 fried chicken. The lamb was great. lots of meat in super rich flavorful broth. it comes with fermented daikon radish though and that was a bit much. Lamb can be quite rich and gamey which i like but paired with that funky daikon it was just too much. I actually wish there had been more noodles and broth and less of everything else. Next was the fried chicken which we were told takes a bit longer which is normal and completely understandable. The chicken comes out cuts up in pieces with a huge skillet of cornbread. The breast meat was fine very crispy with good flavor but the leg and thigh however were under cooked and still pink in middle. Couldn't eat. The cornbread was weird. it was very greasy with a giant ball of butter or coconut oil or something in the middle. It was also quite dense and again was just too much with the chicken. i know how popular and well loved this place is so maybe we just had an off night.

Tyler Whipple

Amazing small plates with unique combinations. Be sure to get the lobster toast, it is out to find this world. The lobster mousse wonton soup is great. Trust the staff they are friendly and helpful and will point you in the right direction if you need some help.

Christopher Parker

Great options and experience. We say at the bar, which was awesome. David, the bartender, was knowledgeable, quite proficient and provided exceptional service. The food was delicious and unique with fresh ingredients and delightful presentation.

Gregory Leet

Outstanding food, with many dazzling variations of Vietnamese pho and other Asian noodle dishes. Plus a strong regional beer list with unique selections too.

Pete Grannis

We sat outside where it was quiet. Service was perfect and the food outstanding, especially the lobster dumplings.

Billy Preston

Our server was very knowledgeable. Helped us make decisions on food we hadn't seen before. Food was delicious. The home made soft serve was a perfect way to end an amazing meal

Stan Janik

Food and drinks excellent!! Go with staff's recommendations.

Brian Doore

Good, but not great. Food was interesting but lacked a depth of flavors I'd expect from a restaurant like this.

Richard Suls

Exceptional! Well crafted, with clear attention to detail. Everything I had was delicious! I look forward to returning.

Ciana Godin

Scallion pancakes and kimchi were awesome. Raw beef salad was out of this world. Great drink selection. Will be going back!

Elier Rodriguez

So good!

Mahbubul Maruf

Wings were great, this is a place to go get wing and beer. The ramen was not that great to me since I am from NYC and I had way better ramen. I made the mistake of taking my child here didn't know it was mostly a bar. Couldn't drink and had to hold my 19 months old the entire time. The servers were nice and service was fast.

Jim Webber

Really good food

Tracy F

A bit pricey especially at lunch. Of our group of 6, 3 were happy with their dish. The poke had too much cucumber. The fried noodle dish with pork and crab had only pork.

Pina Lopez

We were looking for a must visit restaurant in Portland and Honey Paw kept showing up. Wonderful dinner experience. Wings were sweet and spicy, very unique and different, and the lobster toast was delicious. The smoked lamb Khao soi was great to share with my daughter. Coconut curry and spicy but enjoyable, a lot of meat too.

Danton Brown

Best fried chicken in Portland... Period

Dominique Anderson

We visited Honey Paw after first going next door to the sister restaurant, Eventide, for incrediblly fresh oysters. At Honeypaw, we ordered deliciously balanced and refreshing drinks and the bluefin tuna poke was out of this world good. Layers upon layers of amazing complementary flavors made it a dish to be savored. I HIGHLY recommend this place!!! One of the best gastric gems of Portland.

Lindsay LeBlanc

Really great Asian Fusion food! Loved the cocktail selection. The chicken wings were wonderful, crunchy and flavorful! Great option when in portland!

Camila Osses

I had 36 hrs in Portland, ME, and this restaurant was a highlight of the trip. Their beer selections features local/seasonal beer, and the food variety was incredible. We ordered the rare beef salad, smoked lamb khao soi, and Vietnamese masa crepe. You get your fill for seafood (which was our goal for Portland) prepared in a range of Asian flavors. our only regret was not ordering the fried chicken.

Ryan Tengler

Wow... some of the best noodle dishes I've had in recent memory. I was in Portland for a total of about 10 hours last weekend and ate there twice. Highly recommend.

Lauren Jackson

Sitting at a window seat, listening to Bikini Kill and eating food that tastes as punk as the music I’m listening to is the culmination of our visit to Maine. If you aren’t an adventurous eater don’t go here. If you aren’t excited by all things flavor, and food that you undeniably cannot cook at home, this is not the place for you. If you’re sensitive to spice, and picky in anyway, keep walking. You can find your lobster rolls next door (no shame). If you love a dizzying array of ingredients and a compilation of complex flavors this is where you should be. Casual cool service, and family style seating enhance the experience. Check it out. We went twice.

Albert Orbinati

Food was good. Ambiance was a bit too loud for our tastes (music, mostly).

James Perkins

Ate there over the summer and was extremely impressed. Very creative take on classics - you've never had pigs in a blanket like these before! Very fresh food, even by Portland standards. And the cocktails were outstanding... strong, refreshing, reasonably priced, unique without being weird, if that makes sense. Finally, the attentive staff all seemed to genuinely enjoy talking to people about food and drinks. I highly recommend Honey Paw!

Joanna Bober

The poke appetizer was tasty, the kombucha on tap was tasty, the ramen was flavorful but the broth was very salty. With ramen a salty broth is good but even for me it was a little too much.

Scott Leonard

Fantastic food. The waitstaff was very accomodating and gave us a table even though they were slammed. Very hip and my cocktail was fantastic.

David Harlor

Only thing as good as the food was the service. Quick bite. Small bill. Fast turn. Great service.

Fady Ghobrial

Good service, waiter was funny. The chicken wings from the happy hour menu were delicious. Good atmosphere too.

Anthony Vanaria

I got the Lamb Khao Soi and my wife ordered the rare beef salad. The lamb was obscenely tender and the coconut broth was the most flavorful of all that we tasted in Portland. For me the dish was a touch sweet, but this varies with pallet. The Rare Beef Salad was very stylistic, less salad more rare beef splayed out with pretty toppings - still appetizing. We also ordered a side of kimchi, just enough sweet to give the hot context.

Andy OCal

Great eclectic menu! The scratch made noodles made the difference. Pork and vrab meatballs tossed in num choc.....who would of thought. Gets busy and loud but why not right?

The food was unbelievably good. I didn’t finish my beer because I didn’t want to wash away the taste of the food.

Skip the wait at Eventide and come here instead. Maybe it was the heat or the frustration of just getting info Eventide but Honey Paw was like manna when we got in. Very chilled laid back hostel vibe but still felt like my two young boys were welcomed. We took one bite of the lobster wontons and immediately ordered a second order of it. The fried chicken sandwich with the home made chips we devoured by my 6 year old and the ramen met the criteria of my 3 year old of being noodle-y. We also got the wings and it was so delicious we debated circling back afterwards for a to go order.

Imaginative well prepared asian fusion. Attentive service.

Completely delicious Asian fusion in downtown Portland. Go with a friend and enjoy as much as you can.

Amazing! I had the Smoked Lamb Khao Soi. It was the best meal I've had in ages! The service was great, the place is a nice, bright, modern space. Next time I am in Portland, you will definitely find me at The Honey Paw!

Daniel Myers

Very unique and interesting Asian noodle menu, great for lunch or a light dinner
