Wow had a rib eye steak cooked to perfection. Garic mashed and asparigus also good. Wait staff on point delevering great service. This place is a bit pricy 684 with tip for 8 people; I guess you get what you pay for. I will eat here again.

Michael Schultz

Great service excellent food.

Jason Trease

Consistently very good!

James McDonough

All the food here was outstanding. In the summer there is a great patio area. Inside can get quite noisy as exposed brick makes up most of the interior. The service has been excellent every tone I've gone. The prices are a bit high, though, for what is offered, or I'd have given one more star.

Cade Blackburn

I've been here several times. I went for lunch with my mom. We both had the Reuben. It was good, would have been great had the bread not been burnt. I still finished it though

Caroline Patrie

This place haa amazing food, and even better service. Fried Shrimp Bang Bang is a must to start. Local atmosphere with world class food. Make your reservation now!

Hayes Heath

Delicious food, and a good atmosphere for groups.

Gary Wood

Wonderful atmosphere and top notch food.

Nicholas Abell

Great food and location, next to a parking garage. ( if you have been to Portland you know the value of a well placed parking garage) The building has the old Portland charm. We ate outside and had no problems with onlookers or bugs.

steve allen

Excellent food, meat cooked expertly and plenty of cold beverages.

Ray Saba

Exceptional Staff. Exceptional Food. Time and again, this team surpasses all expectations. You cannot go wrong here. Period.

Joan Savill

We ate at this restaurant on two consecutive nights and had a wonderful time on both evenings. The steak and fish dishes were delicious and we had superb service from the front of house and the waitresses. Highly recommended.

James Tocher

Took my wife for her birthday. Hands down the best restaurant I've been to I'm Portland.

Josh Hoeflich

Everytime I make the trip i say this was the best meal I've ever had... this time I had to pleasure of bringing the love of my life for valentines day and before the meal was over she looks at me and says "I think this was the best meal I've ever had!" Amazing food and service

Eric Eshleman

Easily one of the best steaks I've ever had! Wouldn't hesitate to go back when in Portland again

Peter Middleton

Nice steak house with great meat. Their home made cream corn is amazing. Drink menu is on par with the rest of the higher end old Port establishments.

Antonio Maniaci

Fantastic steak, mashed potato with huge lobster chunks. Huge order of seasoned fries, great drinks excellent service. Truly the best steakhouse in Maine.

David Pomerson

This place certainly knows how to prepare delicious meals and serve them elegantly.

Patricia Schneider

Awesome meal!

John Braley

Great skirt steak cooked your way.

Stephanie Tozzi

Went here for dinner and drinks. Wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised when we walked in. Great music great vibe. Bartenders were super friendly and helpful. Pizza was small but good. Drinks were delicious. Definitely will be coming back

David Gagne

This was our second time dining at The Grill room. I was disappointed with the ribeye I ordered.

Jeff Slaton

Great place for dinner and drinks. Awesome dinner...

mjtplayer

Been here several times, probably the closest thing to a steakhouse in Portland. From a steakhouse standpoint, it's a mediocre 2 stars. As an overall restaurant it's 3 stars. Steak temperature inconsistency is an issue. Lunch isn't great, feels like last night's leftovers. Ordered a "grilled" chicken salad for lunch one day, the salad was very good but the chicken was out of the fridge cold. For $17, I was expecting "grilled" chicken from the "grill" room.

Brought my girlfriend here last night for her birthday. I made a reservation much earlier in the week. While we waited for our table after checking in, we watched walk-ins be seated in the open area of the restaurant, which is where most of the tables are, and in view of the open kitchen. We were finally seated in a side nook next to the busser/water station, right off the host station, as far away from the regular dining area as possible and really a horrible seating for a birthday dinner that I made reservations for. It was like sitting in a very narrow closet with servers/bussers constantly walking to the water/silverware station. After our drink order, we were told there would be Rosemarie focaccia bread - that never arrived. Once our drink orders did arrive, the server tipped the tray while putting my gf’s drink on the table and the beer I ordered slipped and beer went everywhere - no issue, but she spilled the beer all over my girlfriend, and the server was only concerned about possibly spilling it on the table across the way - an older couple. She didn’t even address the fact that she spilled it on my girlfriend, and then didn’t even replace the beer. Our food came, and it was meh. My GF got the salmon and the risotto was undercooked and not much flavor to the whole dish. My steak was also very rare, when I asked for medium. The best part of the food was the Grill Room salad, honestly. I ordered a 2nd beer, and the beer never came after 20 minutes. We then just asked for the check and boxed up our food to finish at home in an actual dining area that wasn’t a closet.... Pretty disappointed, considering that we’re locals and work in the industry. It was my gf’s birthday, I thought I’d take her to a nice place, and it was really disappointing. $150 for bland food, poor service, and eating in a closet/hallway - so much for making a reservation!!! We would have ordered more drinks, food, & desert if the service and seating was better. And the food. If you’re older & wealthy-looking, you’ll probably get great service though.

Patrick Coombs

Friendly service, good food, great people.

Mike Roy

One of the best restaurants in the Old Port... Katelyn is an outstanding waitress. Friendly and pays attention to your needs. She definitely made our dining experience great. We had the Salmon and it was cooked to perfection. We love The Grill Room!

James Norris

My girlfriend and I frequent for a drink at the bar and, more importantly, the desserts. Blown away by my most recent trip when we tried the carrot cake. Server was super friendly too.

Bob F

Would be 5 stars if they would serve steaks st lunch. Crazy they don't fire up the grill for lunch

Vincent Grassi

I'm baffled at how such a popular place, known for steaks, can serve such a terrible ribeye! I must admit, I don't visit often, but I've been familiar with this restaurant for a while and have had a handful of meals over the years. I've known it to be over priced and overrated in general. My recent visit was particularly bad I ordered a ribeye cooked medium. The steak didn't taste like it was seasoned at all. Even after dousing with salt, it was very underseasoned. The worst part was how tough it was. The absolute worst ribeye I've had in years.

Ryan is a Rockstar

Went here for a few drinks before a show. Very busy, bit loud around the bar area, delicious drinks.

Amy Smith

Great service and delicious food!

Cheryl Patten

Stumbled into this place purely by accident when in town for a show at the Merrill. It was Valentines Day so the wait for a table was long. We were surprised and thrilled to be quickly seated at the bar as the restaurant tables were packed. I can’t speak to the food as we only had drinks (which were excellent), but the place has a really comfortable and inviting atmosphere and the hostess and bartender couldn’t have been more welcoming in fitting us in.

Cindy

Loved the bread used for their sandwiches. Perfect service. Great environment.

Paul Adams

Great food great service.

Felecia

Visited Portland for work and was recommended by a local employee to stop by the Grill Room. My friend and I stopped in for drinks during happy hour. The bartender treated us horribly. Not only was he rude to us, he did not want to take our order or serve us. It took 30 minutes and for us to say something to the hostess before he asked for our orders. My friend suggested that maybe he was having a bad day, which is no excuse, but we noticed that he was very friendly and accommodating to the other customers. When it was time for us to go, I paid with my cc, but my friend paid with cash and he literally threw her change on the counter to her and walked away. He was so blatantly racist. And we were the only black people in the restaurant...

A Gonzalez

It was amazing. From California and it was nice having good bye dinner

Vincent Yip

I went there for dinner on a Sunday night. I ordered a steak plus lobster mashed potatoes. And OMG the steak was huge, juicy and cooked to almost perfection. I am salivating now just typing this review. I was easily able to share the dinner with my fiancee and we were both full! The server provided really good service with all the options clearly explained! The music was a little loud but it was to be expected in a bar-type restaurant!

jessica Navarro

Food was delicious and service was outstanding!! The steak just melted in your mouth! ❤️

Matty Mcf

Very good and very expensive

Sabrina Cunningham

The food is phenomenal.. not a place to go if you are looking for a quiet place to eat.

Matt Morrill

Simply Amazing! Best Filet Mignon I've ever had!

Peter Freeman

Steak was very unimpressive. Was served cold. The sides of carrots and Potatoes were better then the steak. If you are a steak house you should served every steak done to perfection. They had the nerve to serve the steak cold, on a cold plate, with cold sauce.

devin herrin

Love this place.

Kathryn Larrabee

Excellent food - yummy - very comfortable dining and bar environment, and a great waitress.

John Winstanley

great steak house. attentive staff. very pricey though. special occasions only. #walletbuster

Christopher Armstrong

Service - appropriate Food - delicious Music - loud Ambience - comfortable

Ian Maines

Fantastic food.

Erik Sauter

My steak (ordered medium rare) was RAW. Sent it back for another minute on the grill and it came out raw again with a burned crust. No attempt to remedy at all aside from "our temps are lower". Two others ordered medium rare and they were perfect. So many other options in Portland.

Thomas Smalley

Best steak in Portland maine worth every penny...mac n cheese rocks too.

Michael Goulding

Thanks.Great potatoes and lobster dish. Fun waiter.

Dylan lach

I love this place. Foods always good and staff are always smiling and nice. Really good environment

Andrew Wiggin

Good people, good food, good wine, great beer selection. The waitress was very concerned about how they cooked steak (French heat chart - so rare is very rare and well done has a touch of pink hiding somewhere in the middle). My rare filet was perfect - if anything more cooked that I would have done (I like my steak mooing). The escargot was also delicious as an appetizer.

Nick Emmons

Fantastic meals for good prices

Katy Petrie

Went for lunch with my coworkers. It is obvious wait staff is hired far more for their appearance than their service skills. Aloof doesn't even start to describe them, impatient and rude are closer. I bought a pretty basic sandwich. It came out completely dry, I did forget to pick a sauce when I asked for a side of mayo, I got eye rolls and a big sigh. Definitely not the experience to justify paying twice what my boring deli sandwich would have cost anywhere else.

Samuel Conlogue

One of my favorite spots to grab lunch in town. The food and service have always been top notch.

Michelle Hutchins Buck

I'm always amazed and satisfied every time I visit. Choose al a cart to get exactly what you're in the mood for or choose from their perfectly paired dishes. The specials of the day will keep you coming back for more. Constant variety of gourmet dining!

Caity Bryan

Top notch service. I’m always happy to learn about a badass female head chef. I’m thankful for the dog friendly patio so I can treat myself to an excellent meal with my best bud

ben stults

Best steak around

Richard Bean

Wonderful meal, wonderful evening, wonderful service. Thank you Chris.

Jarrod Lilly

Food was good. Outdoor seating was really nice.

Andy Hound

Great food we had the steak and salt fries and rainbow trout and were blown away! Parking is easy with street access or a parking garage close by. Price is high but well worth it.

Matthew Rousseau

Food was excellent Service was great I’d go every night if I could App bread was amazing

Daniel Eling

Had a nice dinner, but service was very slow when we were there - 7:30 reservation, table wasn't ready for ~15 minutes, didn't get food until about 9. Might have just been there on an exceptionally busy night with short staff. Servers were very polite and thoughtful, and food was good.

Miles Heise

Everything was excellent. Great wine list, good bread, would recommend both entrees (we had the duck and the swordfish), excellent in every detail. Above all have to mention the excellent service. We had Ashley, definitely the most knowledgeable, professional waitress I've had in a long time.

Andrew Berdell

Ordered steak medium since they say they do the temperature French style. Sent it back 2x for being severly underdone for even my wife who loves it medium rare. Side orders of brussel sprouts, French fries, and Mac/cheese we're good not mind blowing. Service at bar and the table however was excellent and friendly. Maybe it was an off night but will try others in the area before we give it another go.

James Sharp

Amazing service and food! One of the best Ribeyes I have ever had. I would highly recommend this place! Truly a memorable experience!

John Tolan

Always the best! Can't beat them for their steaks in Portland...

Anthony Gesamondo

This is an amazing place to eat! Everything was perfect here! Our server was great as well. We got the filet mignon special, which was cooked exactly as ordered. It was delectable. It came with asparagus that was so very tender. We also got the seared tuna steak, which was seared perfectly and very nicely raw in the middle. For sides we got the Brussels sprouts with bacon, and the sprouts were cooked just right with great flavor in the bacon. We also got the mac and cheese, which was very yummy. Finally, we got the gratin potatoes, which were the best we've ever had. They were so cheesy and yummy and unrivaled in taste. I still dream about them. There was also a great beer selection as well. I can't wait to go back here!

Gustavo Vargas

We came for lunch today and ordered a steak pizza and a salmon sandwich. The pizza arrived burned and the server tried to convince us that it was fine. We requested a new one and she ended up bringing a new one. Now, regarding the portions, the pizza had only 4 small pieces of steak and my sandwich contained a very small portion of salmon. Don't understand why a restaurant would be so cheap about the protein. If they are afraid of not making money, well, raise your price and serve a decent portion.

Guillaume Duguay

Amazing steak , quick staff and good beer

Sarah Fennessey

I've been twice, once for lunch and and once for dinner. The lunch was okay, nothing fantastic. I went back for a birthday dinner with a group of about 8 and the service was very good and accommodating. I tried the bang bang shrimp and the house salad, which was good. The food is nothing spectacular, and a bit overpriced, but I had a good time.

Robert Hartley

For a number of years this has been my favorite steak and chop house, whether in Portland or several other cities I frequent. I have to say I was disappointed this time. The 42 oz ribeye was cooked perfectly, but the beef was less tender and less flavorful than I remembered it in the past. The raw oysters from Pemaquid and Damarascotta were excellent, as was my martini, glass of zin, and service.

Kevin Barry

Although things add up quickly price wise, everything is top notch quality and cooked to perfection.

Johanna Aggelakis

Excellent sirloin, bartender was very knowledgeable and helpful.

Jessica Sterrett

Unexpectadly great cuisine. Tuna was delicious. Interesting ingredients like sunchokes. Salmon n pork chop were also incredible.

Jeffrey Sweetser

I would rate the atmosphere 5 and the food 7. The service was excellent 9 and the prices 8. Not a place to carry on a conversation

colton collier

Went for lunch, great bread and sandwiches. Friendly staff as well

Stephanie Gagne

This place is great for happy hour, if you can find a seat at the bar! Great prices for happy hour drinks and bar menu, and the food off the dinner menu is really delicious and satisfying. The service is also really good, and the atmosphere cozy. It can get a little loud on busy nights.

Sarah Quinn

Insane food and service! Enjoyed my meal at the bar and was impressed with the bartender Zoley who made my experience even better. The filet was cooked to perfection and as so were the other meals! So happy I tried this gem in Portland!

Jordan Shropshire

I loved the food, my tuna was superb and I thought the steaks were great as well. The service however, was disappointingly bad. Our waiter did not listen to our requests on multiple occasions. He forgot a drink and appetizer, and threw away a meal when we asked for it to be wrapped to go. Other local places have had stoic servers balanced by professionalism and attentiveness, this place had the former but not the latter, leaving a bad taste so to speak.

Mary Shannon

After an iffy start, we were really pleased with our evening here. Food quality is on point - both seafood and steak options were great. The service was attentive, and Brian made sure that we were taken care of. Definitely a destination if you're looking for a good land and sea dining event.

Angela Feroze

They tried. They grill everything on 1 grill I really don’t want my steak tasting like pork or seafood.

Dawn Wheeler

My favorite bar. Wine and the cheese board are my go to choices. Friendly, skilled bartenders, excellent service. Usually gets crowded 5:00ish. Happy hour house wines are very good.

Michael S

Hands down, the very best pork chop you'll find in Southern Maine... maybe all of Maine! My girlfriend & I come here on occasion for either a happy hour or dinner. We recently had dinner and ordered the pork chop the asparagus and the spinach. We rarely order the desert and ordered the creme brulee and it was delicious! The service by Ashley was outstanding...she even provided us with some local history that neither one of us were even aware of. I love that kind of service from the wait staff. We ordered a bottle of wine and only had one glass each and took the rest home with us. If you're looking for and great steak or any kind of meat look no further than The Grill Room.

Thomas Romano

Always enjoy the lunch options.

Mir Musfiqur Rahman

Excellent food and satisfying service. I loved it and will certainly revisit this place.

Pamela Trautner

Everything we ordered was perfectly prepared and delicious. It's a definite recommendation for an intimate dinner or a gathering spot with friends.

Edward Busby

Great place. Good food, good service, and a friendly atmosphere.

Mark Maguire

Tried the bone in porkchops ..incredible best I have ever had. Hard to go wrong at the Grill Room when it comes to anything meat, they do it right everytime.

Sean Mokler

Had an absolutely exceptional dinner here. A party of six, with reservation, seated on time with an amazing front room staff. Every drink and every course was amazingly executed. Our server, Chelsea, was knowledgeable, helpful, and very professional. Appetizers of foie gras, tartare, escargot, and brie were amazing. Salads were great, and the entrees were phenomenal. Perfect cuts of steak, executed to the tee. One of the best dinners out I have ever had.

Scott Padula

High end restaurant with amazing food and a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere

Ryan Michaud

I wanted to give this place a better review, but I just can't. Compared to other places offering wood fired meats and sea food that I have been to, the food couldn't stack up. The apps were quite good and probably the only redeeming quality. The grilled romaine hearts were excellent. The clam chowder was very good as well. Our entrees were were both wrong. Messing up one steak is understandable, but getting both wrong is unacceptable. My wife's steak came out way under and mine was overcooked. I do believe after seeing more than one steak go back to the kitchen we are not alone in this. On sending her's back it still came out under done but edible. The fries were a tad greasy but seasoned very well. The mushroom risotto was probably the only noteworth part of my entree. None of the sauces that we had to pay for were (in my opinion) that good. The desserts were for the most part adequate. The pumpkin pie gelato was tasty and fragrant with nutmeg and other spices. The brulee was good but not a wow. For Portland and from the reviews, I expected more from this place. We will not be rushing back any time soon.

Kim Litman

Excellent food!

Tomas Dunne

Ordered beef and tuna tartare to go. The hostess asked how I wanted my tartare cooked which was odd. The beef was okay. The tuna was an ugly shade of grey that i wouldn't normally associate with raw edible fish. I left a voicemail. Not holding my breath for a call back.

Patrick Boland

Literally the best Porterhouse steak we’ve ever tasted in any city. Paired with a superb Malbec, tasty, though heavy, mashed potatoes, and deliciously oily Brussel sprouts. We were disappointed with the crab and corn risotto, though they were quick to take it off our bill. An extra thanks to Ashley, our server, who was extremely attentive, informative, and amiable.

Nick DeRosa

Great atmosphere and food

Quinn Warner

Excellent steakhouse. I ordered the 21oz ribeye, assuming it was bone in, it was not and was excellent. My wife had the pork chop, which was excellent as well. The service was great, as were the sides. The only issue I had was the lobster bisque was lacking in the lobster. Overall, our experience was wonderful and we'd certainly go back.

Trina Bosse

Great food, service & atmosphere is nice. Servers give good recommendations as well. Love this place. Good food, no attitude!

Brenan Portillo

Great food, great environment. Very nice place for a great dinner. $$$

Felicia Jedlicka

Got a burger and fries at this place. The burger was dry--as in too lean or perhaps the chef smashed the juice out of it when cooking. They also had a special pickle which was basically a salty cucumber. Umm, yuck. The fries were good though and our server was very nice. :)

J Rock

Small place with great food. Definitely a must try.

Spencer Cohen

Do you like large cuts of meat that would make ron Swanson envious . Look no further then the grill room althou dining area can be alil cramped it's well worth it. Great wait staff from bartender to hostess. Make a reservation order, the ribeye, you will thank me later!

Lara Moro

I have eaten here over a dozen times. The Grill Room is consistent in delicious food, cozy ambiance, and great service (also, very accommodating about seating preference). And when warm weather comes around, it opens the cutest outdoor patio to enjoy the summer evenings while you dine. I was actually really surprised to see it didn't have 5 stars, which prompted me to add my review. It completely deserves it! I have recommended The Grill Room to many friends traveling by and each one has let me know that it was a perfect suggestion (for small and large groups). Although few vegetarian options, the menu leaves even the larger groups happy with their experience.

William Hawkes

Never disappointed here.

Greg Thomas

My favorite place before I became vegan.

Tim Nathanson

Overpriced under seasoned steak... expected better.

Kelly Parker Broker/Realtor

Kelly Parker, Maine Real Estate Broker, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate The Masiello Group- BEST steaks in Portland... Loud But GREAT

sean poirier

Meh'.. at least the drinks were good.

phillip meyer

Great steaks and seafood

Barry Dean

Steak was incredible, cooked perfectly

Craig Gilreath

Food is always outstanding. Try and get a seat at the chefs bar so worth it

Diane Mueller

The wait staff is great, the drinks are fantastic and the food is even better. Timber used to be our #1 dinner spot, but the Grill Room blew us away and took the top spot. Great oysters, amazing flavor combinations and a nice step up from the usual steak house. It gets a little loud, but that's due to its popularity. The also have outdoor seating and an open kitchen so you can glimpse behind the scenes. An absolute must for dining when you are in Portland.

Kelly Dubois

Great food and great staff

Debra Poulin

Outstanding steakhouse that never disappoints. The dining area is not particularly roomy and the tables are small, but the food makes it worth it to be a little cramped.

Susan Guerin-Staples

My steak filet was excellent, my husband's ribeye was borderline. For the price of the fare I expected better. We won't be back.

Dylan Agosta

I have been here exactly two times. The first time I got the filet and it absolutely melted in my mouth. Amazing. The second time I came, which was just a few weeks ago, I got the hanger steak. The portion of steak was absolutely embarrassing. It was hidden well by the duck egg (good addition in flavor) and the MASSES of overcooked, fried potatoes. Staff has always been pleasant. May or may not return.

Sterling Musholt

Great food! Awesome service! All around great place to eat and have drinks!

J. S.

Apart from the loud (but still cool !) music a really great experience. Excellent meat, delicious sides.

Heather Kelley

The Clam Chowder was amazing, however the steak and the potatoes were burnt. When the waitress was showed the black potatoes and outside of the steak she just said "the grill must be running hot tonight" no offer to get something that was edible.

Brian Doughty

Awesome food and drink. You get what you pay for.

Alison Belmore

Amazing food and cocktails.. expensive but worth it!

Dave H

The food was incredible. The room had the aroma of food being cooked over a fire and the service was topnotch. Highly recommend this place for my friends

Tom Morin

Great Sirloin Steak

Zane Cole

This is the second time. Best food, best service from the hostess to the waitress. We were even sat down at our table 20 minutes early before our reservation time. My bride and I have decided to make a plan to eat here each time we visit Portland!

Cat Astrophied

Amazing food and service. Five star cuisine, and the service is prompt, polite, and helpful. The price is high, so that might discourage some, but the food is worth it!

Stephen Rolfe

Restaurant offers good assortment of entrees at a bit more expensive price, but not horribly so. Food is very good, and ingredients are fresh. Rustic look inside, with room to move about. Staff is friendly. It is downtown... parking is available in lots of wherever you find it. I would go back again for sure.

Galen

Used to be great when they first opened, but now it seems like they are just coasting. Food was average, service was a little lacking, decor needs work.

Jamie lavoie

Today's lunch was not good. I ordered a Chef salad which was 2 slices of sub-par deli turkey, 1 egg, tomato, tiny amount cheddar curd and romaine. My husband ordered a reuben and asked for light dressing. You must add a side if you'd like more than just the sandwich. It arrived with No dressing and literally 6 pieces of sauerkraut. A food-runner dropped off our food and our server did not check back until we caught her attention. By then, I was done with my salad and my husband asked for extra sauerkraut for the 2nd half of his poorly made sandwich. We were charged for the extra sauerkraut. It's not the extra money that bothered us, but just the fact they nickel and dime their customers. It's not becoming and makes us never want to go back to The Grill Room. It seems like they are trying to squeeze every last nickel out of you before they really want you to enjoy your lunch. Not a good vibe. So many better restaurants in Portland to enjoy.

Tania Briceno

It's good but a bit expensive. The clam chowder was not that special. They cook meats to perfection though

Chris Taylor

This place was so so so amazing. The service was friendly, engaging, and really useful as we navigated their extensive menu. The food was simply perfect. I don't think there was a single thing we ordered (food or drink) that we weren't all totally enamored with. Cannot say enough nice things about this place.

Marie Mathers

Used to get a great Restaurant.... Not so much, anymore...

Scott Payson

Good food, craft cocktails, and service with pretty awesome happy hour!

Joe Christopher

Great Steak, Great Wine, Great Service.

Clay Rocker

Best Steaks anywhere!!! Cooked to perfection, great staff. Been going here for over 5 years, never had a bad meal or bad service.

Roberta Cortopassi

Zolie is amazing!! Creme Brulee is spot on!

Anne Chadwick

My waiter was called John and he was super attentive and knowledgeable. I had the trout with lobster mash and it was delicious. Well made and well priced.

Amanda

This place has the best HH around! However, I have gone for dinner; the pepperoni pizza was pretty delicious but the value wasn’t there for me as their are competitors that offer larger portions for the similar pricing. The duck confit pizza was good but smoking the duck would really bring this pizza to new levels. Again, a bit pricey for the size compared to competitors but pretty good overall.

Bob Huber

Great service, great grilled fare and local brews. Can build build your own feast from the a la carte menu of proteins, sides and sauces or go a prematched entree selection. I opted for a la carte Duck Breast

Kate Roche

The most amazing dinner !! I had the filet and lobster tail with mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts with bacon ! Soooo good ! Mussels were outstanding too ! Great atmosphere and service ! Make a reservation though !

Heidi V. Neal

So delicious and great service too!

Nikita Golovko

Note to owner - The only reason I didn't give this place one star is our waitress. She was friendly, courteous, patient and made us feel at home. I am not a fan of writing negative reviews. This one will be the most negative of them all. I waited a few days and still feel compelled to inform other diners, so here it goes: We made a reservation a week in advance (highly recommended for this place, as it gets busy). Upon arrival we were greeted by the host and seated promptly. The venue is a bit tight on space, so upon entering into the dining room, the host invited us to hang our coats on a rack by the door (more about that later). We complied. The dinner itself was great. As a party of 5 celebrating a birthday for my father-in-law, we ordered a mix of dishes/appetizers and drinks, all of which came out alright. We were seated next to a busy open kitchen, which was a bit loud and smokey, making the conversation difficult at times, especially for our elderly parents. After spending roughly $100 per person, we were on a way out happy, full and ready for our next destination. Everyone in our party found their jacket right where they left it, except me. After the initial disbelief and 10 minutes or so of searching through all of the coats in the near complete darkness it became obvious: my jacket was not there. Gone with it were some personal items and more importantly my car keys (for a car parked right next door). We flagged down our host, who informed us that there isn't anything they can do. He got my number and that was the extent of the "service". Faced with the question of how I'm gonna get home, what to do with a car, without the jacket or car keys, he just shrugged his shoulders. I returned home in an Uber, drove back with a spare key and picked up my car to avoid getting towed the next day. Definitely not ending to the birthday celebration we were anticipating. The day after (Sunday) at around 5 PM I received a call from the restaurant and was told that they had located the jacket and were on their way to pick it up from a nearby hotel, which is where the guest left it. Excited and relieved, I immediately called back and when no one picked up the phone, I drove all the way there to find out that the jacket is "still somewhere at the hotel" with a valet that no one could locate. I was promised it would be straightened out by tomorrow. Ok, I guess... The day after that (Monday) I drove in again, this time after work. I could immediately tell something was up, by the initial reaction of the host as I told him the story (yet again). The jacket was nowhere to be found. Again I was told that they need to contact the hotel and again was told that I'd have to come back for it later. At that point I lost my patience and walked out. It was clear that no attempt to retrieve the jacket was made since the previous night and I wasn't about to wait another few days for it. I took a short walk to the hotel, which is a few hundred feet away and was able to retrieve my jacket without a problem. Phew! Ultimately, I'm upset that a restaurant, with ambitions of a "high end" place, would completely mishandle such a mundane issue. Finding yourself without a coat (and car keys) on a bitter cold Saturday evening is frustrating enough. Feeling like an idiot for driving up the second time, getting the run-around, receiving no acknowledgement or even apologies for the incident, leaves a kind of "after taste" that certainly excludes this establishment from the list of places I'd choose to visit next time. If you find yourself hesitating when your host insists that you hang your coat before seating - go with your gut and hold on to it tight! This is clearly not the place that puts much care into anything besides cooking meat.

Favorite place to eat in Portland.

everything about this place is amazing. from the food quality, atmosphere, service, and pure deliciousness! wood grilled steak is unbelievable and the lobster pizza.. the list can go on, literally everything on the menu is just done proper.

If you order a medium-rare steak here, they intend to serve it rare. To the restaurant's credit they are very clear about this. The problem is, 1.) If you aware of what I am intending to order, i.e. what most would consider a medium-rare steak, there is no need to utilize your own temp system to confuse the issue and make it more difficult to get what I want, and 2.) In 3 visits I still haven't gotten the temp I wanted. I'll acknowledge a lot of people that eat here either don't experience this or they are completely OK with it, but for me its disappointing. Everything else about this place is fine.

I know Portland has a ton of great food destinations but wow, this place was good.

Food and service was amazing. If there was a concern it was that the background music was a little on the loud side. But my wife and I will be returning.

Make sure to ask the waitress the price of any special she offers. The porterhouse was on special. My husband made the mistake of not asking the price. He ordered it...it was huge...the tenderloin part was excellent, however, the other half was very fatty and tough - he had to fight through it. All for the low low price of $85.00 - that is correct $85.00 for the steak only. The cheesy mashed potatoes and creamy spinach added another $15.00 to his bill for a grand total of $100 for his meal. Even if the whole steak had been yummy, it would never have been worth $85.00. Just a heads up.

We had an amazing dinner! The steak and the scallops were done to perfection.

The brandy in the french onion soup was a bit overpowering. Younger arugula, in the salad, would have reduced the bitterness. The lobster bisque was very good.

Pretty basic food offerings

joyce caron-mercier

Old world style steak house with hip vibe.

Food was good but slow coming out. Seemed very unorganized like there was no management and the staff did not seem happy to be there. I am the type of person that dines for the experience, not just the food, and the experience was unexceptional to say the least. Prices pretty high as well. Most likely will not be going back.

Food was just okay but great service.
