Everything I’ve ever eaten here was excellent!! Also fast and friendly waitstaff!!
Delicious! My favorite place in Portland!
Great food, friendly stuff, clean place.
So delicious all the time.
Awesome bbq board! The lamb shoulder was juicy and tender. The smoked beef tongue and cheek tacos were really good too!
Very good food in a casual and fun environment. The burnt ends are a must. Our family of four all ordered something different, and all of it was very good. We didn't go to Portland wanting this type of food, but we're so glad we ate here. Even the kids were licking their fingers. Yum!
Great place for a carnivore who likes the spicy side of food.
Amazing BBQ and great sides. Entres great for sharing. Don't skip if your looking for a casual bite.
Phenomenal food, and awesome staff ( Erin especially )
Amazing little BBQ joint! The friendliest staff! The most delicious BBQ. I had the best burger of my life there and my friend had a huge cuttingboard of all the meats! Just perfection! We sat outside, it was clean, tasty and a delightful experience! Menu was on the smaller side, but really great assortment of options. Can't wait to go back!
Wow! Amazing food, great service! We had the bbq board with mac n cheese. Melt in your mouth delicious.
What a wonderful place to treat yourself to a tasty meal. Best restaurant on the east end!
Sit at the bar and enjoy good drinks and food. Greats meats! Staff is most dope.
Great food! Lots of different flavors. Music was a bit loud.
This is my new go-to brunch spot. Great food and a friendly bartender. Some of their food and drinks have some spice to them if you're into that. Also, each time I've come here I haven't had to wait for a table unlike every other brunch place in town. Check it out.
Delicious!
First time here and I had the brisket tacos which were delicious!!! If I had to be critical, it would be the drinks are on the weak side. But overall, great food here.
Great staff, amazing food.
Don't judge a book by its cover. A great find. Very friendly, efficient service. Put the infused vinegar on everything.
Awesome mushroom tacos! Had excellent service and conversation with Justin! I'll definitely be back.
New Orleans GOOD!
We sat at the bar, the bartender was great, and we had some excellent small plates. The mushroom empanada was particularly outstanding. The cocktails were very good too.
I liked what i saw ...Food smelled great havent actually tried it yet tho had to stop in and check out the menue for when i had more time
Terlingua is such a great place! Food was very good. I'm in love with their corn bread... it's phenomenal! They don't have kids menu but they will accommodate to make your visit a great experience. Lady who served our food was so friendly, we literally felt like we visited our aunts house for a dinner. It was a great experience! I highly recommend this restaurant.
The food was good
Unfortunately for me, I’ve only been able to make it up here for happy hour and brunch. Ordered the frito pie and ceviche for happy hour and both were flawlessly executed. Frito pie is served in a frito bag, so classic. This may just be the best smelling restaurant I’ve ever been in. Very solid beer list both times I was in. The smoked brisket & sweet potato hash was absolutely dynamite. Hope to make it back for dinner soon to dive face first into the smoked meats!
Great place for Sunday brunch
Great food, great people! Super hot owners
Walked here from our hotel nearby and it was absolutely worth the try! Great atmosphere and food selections. We sat at bar and enjoyed the service of a very pleasant bartender who made awesome cocktails and made great recommendations on the menu. Avocado Tostada was fresh and all natural. Green Chili with Smoke Pork was outstanding and definitely a must have. BBQ board was exceptional as well. Haddock tacos had a great combination of flavors. Tres Leches and Bread Pudding desserts were a great way to end a very enjoyable meal.
Off the beaten path... Great food, great service! My wife and I randomly found this spot and as first timers, we loved it! We are locals that always look for a new great place to eat and this is a huge hit! With lots of competition in the Portland area this place is a winner. We highly recommend!!
Good, strong drinks, but go while they are serving lunch/dinner...they have a limited menu other times.
Love this place! Atmosphere this great. Food is fun & consistent. $5 margarita at happy hour, a bowl of green chili and a side of cornbread... Yum yum!!!
Everything at our brunch was prepared with care and attention. Truly excellent!
Good but not amazing. Would gladly come back. The BBQ of the day plate and ceviche were outstanding. Chile Verde was quite very bland. Great chips, guac and super friendly staff.
Overpriced, small portions, and really long wait times to be seated.
The food was very good. They dont take reservations so show up early. The only minus to me was the noise. It was extremely noisy. We pretty much had to shout to each other.
Cute little place. Great food and not as busy around lunch time, but they do have a more limited menu at lunch.
The service was great and food (brisket) was very tasty. Nice atmosphere and the picnic tables are perfect for a warm summer evening. If your looking to get filled up and have a drink for a reasonable price though, this isn't the place. I'd recommend going down the street and eating at Tu Casa.
Good food. Good company.
Amazing food. A little high price for cocktails, but had great local craft beer selection. Amazing bbq
Great food and beverages. Cool vibe.
Have the BBQ board! You will not regret it.
Wonderful food, a good atmosphere, fantastic drinks, and every Sunday evening is a rotating menu as part of a community night - this is the food I miss.
This is a great place for meat eaters, but as someone who tends more toward vegetarian dishes, I had a slightly different experience. The atmosphere is relaxing and romantic, and my boyfriend and I had a very nice time.
Brisket chili and tacos were excellent
Great food, good music. Service fast and friendly. Will go back soon.
went several times for apps since the regular menu is a wee bit pricey; everything was fresh and delicious; meat is smoked out back so the neighborhood often has a mouth watering aroma
Gourmet eats at competitive prices. Try the Chicharron -- very well done! Portion sizes are a little small though, so don't expect to get full without spending >30$
Very tasty food! The prices don't necessarily match the portion sizes but the flavor makes up for it in a big way. Try the chicharron!
Great find. Get the brisket if they have it but it is all great.
Great spot. Great service. I'll be back, next time.
great service and food. Creative menu. Highly recommend
Overpriced, the tacos tasted like the kind you eat at someone’s house, not impressive considering How many good, cheaper taco joints there are in Portland. Our waiter did not inform us a bunch of our menu items got subbed (potato chips for corn bread?!) and I had to ask if they were going to charge the same price. They did give a 3$ discount but I thought it was really lame. They seemed to run out of a lot of menu items and the menu was incredibly limited as it was. Long wait and bad service even considering the restaurant was very small and FULLY staffed with a bartender, hostess, manager, and several waiters we still waited a ridiculously long time to even place our order once we were seated. I eat out in Portland A LOT And I don’t encounter experiences like this often even at larger busier restaurants so I have little sympathy. Don’t waste your time and money here.
Blown away by the food here. Barbecue is impeccable and all the food is so flavorful. Small menu, but something for everyone. Great cocktails.
A really delicious spot on Washington Ave. perfect for couples, dinner out with friends or family. Texas style bbq with a focus on local, seasonal produce. Outdoor picnic tables. Great cocktails.
Great place to get Texas styled (approved by my friend from Texas) BBQ, owner lived in Texas for a while. Food is great, and inexpensive for what you get (about mid priced for Portland). Staff is also great and super friendly. The place is small so don't be surprised about a wait, but there's a bar across the street that's great to wait at.
BBQ brisket plate was the best I've had up North
Wow portion sizes! Those tacos were huge! Delicious though... recommend the haddock over the brisket. But you really can’t go wrong. Great service and friendly atmosphere. Felt very welcomed here! Recommend a pit stop!
I had the rainbow trout filet with bacon jam and two eggs. Whoever cooked this was spot on. Very Good. Great bartender. When I walked in I was lucky to get a seat at the bar as I was alone. It was very busy. I will be back.
Great lamb chops, solid beer list, friendly staff. Lovely stop!
Good food in a friendly environment.
BRISKET SANDWICH is awesome! Great little spot for lunch or dinner!
Fabulous hidden gem!!!
Definitely great ribs!
Meal was good, would give 3.5 if halves were an option. The breakfast tacos were really good and so was the frito pie. The huevos rancheros were over black beans that were way too liquidy and the pulled pork Benedict was a bit sweet. Service was good.
went here as a pit stop on a bachelorette bar crawl. had a nice sangria and some brisket served in a Fritos bag. It was weird, but I was drunk so who cares. Anyway, it was all pretty good and I'd def go back here sober. 5 stars.
Had the queso and green chilli Frito pie and a bloody and all were delicious! Bloody was a bit spicy but as could be expected at Tex Mex!
Oh man. This is gonna be a tough one to stray away from when I come home. This is like my dream place to eat and drink in every way, especially for a daytime spot. I'll be coming back for dinner and to get an even better sense of the vibe of the place. No matter what, I'm a huge fan.
Nice ambiance and good drinks! The food was okay but our salad was served on a very small plate with a big piece of fish that still had the skin on it. We wanted to ask for an extra plate or a bowl but the staff never checked on us after they dropped the food.
Great menu of smoked beaf, chicken, and pork. Very helpful staff and full bar.
Geapacio was fabulous. The BBQ board was delicious. The margaritas were wonderful.
Awesome pop-up tonight with Evan from Eaux. The chicken and waffles were fantastic and the jambalaya was amazing. The staff at Terligua were great. We'll be back soon
Some of the most delicious food we have eaten. Street tacos and brisket. Can't wait to go back to try more things and to leave room for dessert.
Small quaint place. Absolutely amazing food. We went on a Sunday night that has a special menu but it was delicious. Brisket you cut with a fork...mmmmm. Then had bread pudding that makes my mouth water!
Great authentic food. If they have some brisket available for dinner definitely order some. Always ask for their specials, especially their drinks.
Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. We would go there again.
We've stopped here twice for lunch when traveling into Portland and loved it both times! It's a really quaint spot with a great menu and nicely plated dishes. The BBQ pork sandwich is fabulous as have been the crispy tacos, Frio Pie and Tortilla soup. We've never had to wait for a table. Check it out - you won't be disappointed!
Nice little place. Good beer selection. Interesting menu items
Amazing food and fun environment. Fills up fast!
Delicious BBQ, fast service, and good atmosphere! Will come again
Corn was ok. Brisket was definitely the move. Also got margarita with very spicy rim
Good a huge bone jerk chicken wrap. Taste great but prob not coming back. To Expensive for the quality
If you are looking for 'fancy' or 'hipster' BBQ this is the place to go. I've been several times and the food is always good. I've found that the crafted entrees (ie tacos) are better than the straight BBQ entree (ie brisket).
Good food. Quick service, nice music and atmosphere!
Sometimes you just stumble across a great place and Terlingua is one worth checking out. They have great Happy Hour and the food is too die for! Add friendly and knowledgeable staff and you have a winning combination! My girlfriend and I have been to over 100 different locations over the last 9 months in Southern Maine (mostly in portland) and this is one place we keep going back to. You won't be disappointed if you love quaint places with great food!
Pulled pork eggs Benedict was spectacular.
Amazing food! Great service and atmosphere! We were on vacation and enjoyed it so much we went 3 times to eat!
BBQ & smoker on site, they make the most tender bbq, brisket, ribs. Full bar. Went there for brunch recently and got the Pulled Pork Eggs Benedict. So good!
Great place for some Mexican that's not your standard Mexican/Tex-Mex.
Amazing food. We ordered appetizers and multiple entrees. All were fantastic.
The place was great and ok seafood options but Awesome BBQ options. A bit pricey but the food is good. I will visit again next time am in Portland
I loved the smoked meat board! Great bang for your buck!
Good atmosphere. Get the street corn
Just had a brilliant brealdast taco
Had a fantastic time at the bar with Alex. Excellent service, great food. We watched Alex and the FOH manager negotiate a challenging situation with patrons with panache. Can't recommend this place enough - thanks for being awesome at your jobs!
Love it here
I had a breakfast burrito and it was really god, fresh made and tasty, they have a special hot sauce that you are going to love if you like spicy food
Awesome.little joint w yummy bbq and mexican influenced menu.
Don't miss the Green Chili. Not a good place for vegetarians. Seems like NM style TexMex. Great but if you're looking for something really authentic you might be let down. The tequila/Mezcal cocktails are very tasteful despite the seemingly limited tequila selection.
On Vacation and this place yes is a little spendy but amazing food and you should definitely go here. We saw the pabst neon sign in the window and looked like a whole in the wall and being from Portland (due to requiring a good beer selection) were debating going in but very glad we did . Just the corn bread on the meat trays were great let alone the meet. Every bit of food that we had was delicious.
These people know how to smoke! Had two items that were both excellent. Calf heart salad. Excellent smoke flavor, tender. Reminded me of a sightly tougher cut of steak. I don't normally eat any kind of heart and I really enjoyed it. Second was carnitas tacos that had tons of flavor and a great crispy texture. Much better than salvage BBQ imo.
I was walking past this place in my way to The Snug and went in because it smelled so good from outside. This place is crazy good. You need to eat their food. Legit fire. I don't give rave reviews easily. Go have breakfast at Palace Diner in Biddeford and then spend the rest of your day here. If you die the next day you will do so without regret.
So dang good! Best brunch around.
The brisket sandwich will never let you down.
Best Benedict in town hands down! Friendly service, cool atmosphere, and trendy cocktails. Do yourself a favor and check this small place out.
Great be selection and small bites
Busy Friday night, tortilla soup, burnt ends brisket. There was a bit of a wait but it was just what I needed on a cold wet night. A little noisy, but could still converse. Very nice.
Best brisket ever! Cute spot I went to with my grandparents in Portland. Their tortilla chips are Montecito Roadhouse, a local chip brand, so yummy! Food was very good and i would definitely go back.
Wow. Great food and atmosphere
Good service. The rib special was very good and the BBQ platter was good. Reasonable prices and appropriately sized plates.
The food is obviously well thought out and prepared with great care. The atmosphere is inviting and fun. The price is reasonable for the quality of the meals. Also had a nice selection of margaritas to choose from. Overall a lovely experience.
Really enjoyed the bbq. The staff are great. We enjoyed the bbq sauce! The place is really small. Neither one of us liked the slaw. Oh and the cornbread was very good.
Hipster atmosphere . No service. Terrible entrance.
Listen. Portland is among the best foodie towns on earth. This is not the fanciest joint in town. But!!!! How would you like to show up in a tee and jeans and eat food you’ll like better than anything else in Portland? Skinny Mini Boca chicks need not apply! Anybody else? Walk over, sit down and arrive in heaven!!!! Seafood is superb, but a waste of time. BBQ- some of the best ever and I have run through NC, SC, KC and Texas. Just go. Forget the $300 for 2 shops. Come here for $50 each including drinks and go home in ecstasy.
Delicious house margaritas paired well with the burnt ends, deviled eggs, and carnitas tacos. Our server was delightful.
One of the best restaurants in Portland hands down. Worlds above the quality of anything like Salvage or Elsmere- really authentic Austin bbq. Every dish is consistently delicious.
Terlingua is my favorite restaurant in Portland, and that's saying something! The staff are incredible, the drinks are delicious, the food is out of this world (best BBQ in Maine hands down), and they are super accommodating when we come in with our small children (even have a few kids games at the door to keep kids happy/distracted until the food arrives). Recommendation: Get the BBQ Board to share with a friend (or two).
smells good looks good tastes good too uhuh thats right
The beef brisket tips with corn bread was one of the greatest meals I have ever enjoyed.
I've been here a couple times now..first trip was a 3, second trip was a 5...so I'm splitting the difference. They advertise their BBQ...but honestly that's what I had during my first trip and almost didn't go back. Their sampler platter was pretty tiny, and super spendy..and didn't knock my socks off. But when I did come back, I had this fried rice plate with ham.. which I'm not sure if that's a temporary menu item, but it was phenomenal! I just hope they keep that on the menu, because it was worth returning for
Stunning brunch, very kind staff.
Favorite restaurant in all the land. Great staff! Super delicious eats! It should also be noted that being from the south...I know pork, ribs and brisket.
Had an excellent meal with the family on a day trip to Portland. Food and service exceptional. Price very reasonable.
I have never been disappointed in the maybe 3 years I have been coming here.
Stumbled upon this spot after visiting the distillery up the road. Love the food. The meat platter was big enough to share alongside an appetizer. Nice drink selection.
The server was a little all over the place but our food came out great. Drinks were good too. This is definetely a place I'd reccomend and go back myself.
We got here during an in between menu time after missing the brunch. Friendly staff and good atmosphere. Their appetizers were delicious.
Great fusion of BBQ and Mexican. Casual
Always enjoy a stop at Terlingua. Great food -- barbecue & ribs, tacos, red and green chili -- never disappoint. Collard greens rock! Friendly staff. Look forward to being able to enjoy dinner on a day we are able to stay later in Portland.
Went with friends for Neighborhood Night and can’t wait to go back! Had the pulled pork platter and fish tacos, both of which were seasoned and cooked wonderfully. Only minor complaint: we had the jerk chicken wings as an appetizer and the portion was disappointingly small, but the flavor was amazing (3 wings to split among 4 people for $12).
Always great food for a fair price
Great drinks, they do NOT skimp when you order "a shot" either, and the food was amazing.
Everything was delicious. Green chili pork stew was on point. It's been a while since I was so impressed by a restaurant. Can't wait to go back. It's my new spot for sure.
Delicious smoked meats and tacos, refreshing cocktails, good variety on the draft list, and friendly staff.
We had an awkward wait, considering how small the place is, how many tables were open, and how many staff were "on the floor." In general, the wait wasn't bad, but it was strange with all those variables. Staff was friendly. BBQ Plate was spicier than I expected. Jerked chicken: 3/5 Burnt Ends: 4.5/5 Pork shoulder: 4/5 Ribs: 3/5 Sweet potato/squash: 4/5 I'd give the place 3/5. I don't like spicy. The first bite set my mouth on fire. The wife would give it 4/5.
Unique and delicious BBQ for both brunch and Dinner. Atmosphere is great, though a little loud for dinner on a busy night. Service was excellent.
Food and service were spot on. Small lunch menu but the Taco, Chili and brisket were very good. Nice beer and drink selection. Moderately priced.
Cute setup, tasty tacos
it's been a few hours since I've eaten there and I'm still laying at home salivating over the smoked meats ceviche and shrimp tacos that my girlfriend and I devoured with no shame.
Awesomeness
The menu of locally smoked meets and fresh seafood and veggies makes this an affordable and delicious go to.
Delicious food but crowded and a bit pricey
You have to go!! Terlingua is THE BEST bbq I have had outside of TX. We started with the Scallop Ceviche and Jerk Wings then shared the BBQ Board which featured brisket and pork the night we were there. We topped it all off with Tres Leches Cake...which was beyond amazing!! Thank you Terlingua for starting our Honeymoon off right!!
So good! Great place! Great food! Fresh ingredients! Good beers! Perfect mix between american bbq and mexican food!
Great food, good service
Deviled eggs were great. Sunday night neighborhood night is a great deal
Went in for a burger tonight and ordered it mid rare, it came out almost well done and dry. For $14 it came with corn chips and pickles. The ceviche was good but only had a few shrimp. Service was alright but the cocktail was boring.
Delicious BBQ! Visited on a foodie tour with Timothy. thanks!
INCREDIBLE is an understatement...
Food was deliciously and service was great. We had a wonderful experience.
Great food friendly staff quaint place
We went on St. Patrick's day and were able to sit right away. The Irish lamb stew special was unreal. The pan-fried rainbow trout exceeding our expectations. The service was also on point.
Brunch Brunch Brunch I love you
Amazing BBQ brunch!
Some of the best Mexican food anywhere. Try the brisket burnt ends.
BBQ is one of my favorite ways to cook/consume meat. I like that this spot smokes fresh meat every day - if you do not arrive early enough there is a chance it could be sold out. We LOVED the burnt brisket ends, and the ribs. We were not a fan of the adobo pork - it was dry and spicy. The cornbread was also nothing special - generally dry to the taste.
Everything about this place is excellent. Due to its small floorplan, there can be a wait, but it is worth every second. There are three great venues across the street (distillery, meadery, brewery) to spend time while waiting for a table They have many local beers on tap as well as spirits. The menu is limited, but every option is excellent (our large group ordered a variety and everyone was extremely satisfied). The prices are also very reasonable.
THREE WORDS: Green Pork Chili. You will not be disappointed by anything on this menu. The flavor, combination and care that goes into every plate is amazing. Go on neighborhood night!
