This Restaurant corresponds to the category of Indian restaurant.
The food and service are always phenomenal.
Great food and service.
Delicious Indian food with a homemade feel. Wonderfully nice owner who cares about the customers
Delicious food! Went here for a quick lunch and would definitely revisit next time in Maine.
Excellent food. Incredible flavors. The owner and staff take great pride. My favorite is the keema mutter.
Highly recommended. Takes some time to prepare the food but it's well worth the wait. Large portions!
The best! Will be back for certain!
First of all I grew up with an Indian Hindu family, so My expectations are unusually hugger than most on Indian food. My wife and I have been going here for over a decade. Not once have we had a bad experience. Always great service. Always great Indian cuisine. Myself, my wife and friends used to go to Bombay Mahal, but after many bad experiences we all now only go to Shere Punjab and have never looked back!
BEST Indian food anywhere! Just came back from New York City and ate in a 2 star Michelin rated Indian restaurant and my wife and I BOTH agreed, Shere Punjab was very much the better choice with better meals!
While we had to wait a bit too long for the food...and asked to move because of the fruit flies...i have eaten in many Indian restaurants in the UK and US...it is one of the best
Extremely poor service. We were driving through this town and stopped by. Greeted by a very angry looking guy who seemed like owner. He looked like he hated having people come over for dinner. Then another person who asked how many in our party and looked really lost. I had to really ask them straight up “do you or do you not have a table”, how difficult is it to smile or say they are busy and next table is an hour wait. They have no professional front staff to help them and they are clueless and untrainable. We did not eat there.
Great food
Very good food
This restaurant serves great food. Everything I got here was perfect. The only reason i am giving 4 stars is because as i was ordering, our server asked on a scale of 1 to 10 what level of spice we wanted in our food. I have a pretty high spice tolerance, so i ordered with an 8. The server looked at me like i was out of my mind (which is not an issue with me for what it's worth, i thought it was funny), and then came back with our food. Upon eating, i would say the heat was around a 4 or 5. Perhaps that is just because of my tolerance, but it was not spicy enough for me. Either way, everything was delicious and i would recommend anyone go here.
I absolutely LOVE this place! The staff are so nice and always making you laugh! ❤
A rare gem in Brunswick, Shere Punjab restaurant is what every Indian restaurant should be! It has a warm and friendly staff that will make you feel at home the minute you walk in through the door. I went to Shere Punjab literally dozens of times and there was not a single time that I left dissppointed. More importantly, the food is out of this world! Everything has a deep, complex, rich and flavorful. From their soups, to their naan, curries, kabbabs and desserts, you cannot go wrong. My personal favorites were the Sahajani Murg, the Paneer and Pakora, the Punjabi and Garlic naan and their Mango Lassi, just to name a few. Highly recommend Shere Punjab, you can't go wrong here!
I didn't even go there. Google asked me how it was while I was eating next door. So the food was literally flavorless to me.
Recently discovered this place and we've stopped there every time I've been through Brunswick since. Grade A Indian food
Some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had! So many vegan options!! (The bhindi masala is amazing) I love this place and the people who run it have always been very friendly.
Wonderful Indian, dood primarily grom the Punjab region. Well prepared and very flavorful. I've never heen disappointed here.
Food is great so surprised to find such a wonderful Indian restaurant
Super homey, carring service. Clean, authentic food. Thank you
Indeed good place for Indian food, good service, food tastes good, nice staff, on Main road, easy access.
The service is always great and the food is excellent. Highly recommended.
The food here is always good. the kitchen is very adept at catering to your particular spiciness level.
My favorite Indian restaurant in Maine. Their naan is made fresh and all their dishes I have tried have great flavors.
Fast friendly service, great flavor, can ask for the level of heat you want. If you like more spice than others in your group, ask for a side dish of their unique hot sauce.
Best Indian around. I come here a lot, even though I live further south. The food is amazing! My favorite right now is the mutter paneer. I always get the onion bhaji as well, and of course the naan is delicious (poori is my favorite though). Once I had the shrimp curry and it was also super yummy. The sauces are usually fantastic, but the last time I went I noticed the red onion sauce was made a little differently and I didn’t like it as much (meaning I only had to ask for extra once instead of twice
Food and service is great as usual. We always come here when in downtown Brunswick.
I'd recommend Bombay Mahal over this place for service and food (especially lassis).
The food was excellent and is among the best Indian cuisine I have every had. The portions and prices were fantastic and we had very little wait. I will be sure to stop by the next time I am in Brunswick.
Brought the girlfriend here for dinner, based on the many positive reviews. Sorry, but we didn't see anything to rave about. We were greeted w/an unsmiling face (owner?), & despite the place being <50% full, were seated right next to the takeout window. Only one of three wait staff (female) smiled at us the entire time. Appetizers n two dinners cost us $60, w/a tip. Food was OK, but not great or plentiful. I've known many friendly Indians, so it wasn't a cultural thing. Most restaurants appreciate being patronized... Decor is more like a bargain sandwich shop than a restaurant. Most importantly, both of us now have diarrhea & GI distress :-/ Hoping it quickly resolves. We definitely won't be back. Brunswick is a neat town, w/lotsa neat lil stores. There are plenty of other restaurants to choose from.
Just drove 45 minutes to get lunch only to be turned away because they were on lunch. That should be under their information so people don't think their open when they are not. Very poor service.
Best Indian food in the area (best I've ever had)
I've eaten Indian in a few different states and this is the top of my list.
I try new Indian restaurants quite regularly. There are many in Maine that are okay to good, but not great. This cozy spot right in the cultural center of Brunswick is the cream of the crop.
Shere Punjab is one of my absolute favorite restaurants. The food here is fresh and handmade, delicious every time. The prices are more than fair and the portions are massive. I highly recommend eating here. The staff are very friendly, and welcoming. I have had food here several dozen times and look forward to eating here again. (I recommend the saag paneer)
Love the food. Great service. Not a bad dish on the menu!
Exquisite dining. Home cooking quality. Mom and pop perfection. Waited on by pop. Lamb Saag was amazing, masala tea, Punjabi Naan. All perfect. Add in outside dining. Priceless.George B.
The best Punjabi food in Maine.
AMAZING INDIAN FOOD. Even the three sauces that come with the crisp naan, their bread basket (AKA you don't have to order it), are unreal.
Best Indian food in Maine!
Phenomenal Indian food. Great service
Loved the food, rare to see an authentic Punjabi food. Latchar paratha was fresh and crispy, not to be missed. Dal makhani was terrible should never be ordered; you don’t make this with split peas - what a terrible idea
Really good food.
Fantastic food and a warm feeling every time we visit! :-)
Great food, adjustable spiciness and friendly service. Had the chicken curry and naan bread, delicious!
I have been to lots of other indian restraunts, but this place beats all those past experience every time. It was my friends birthday and the waitstaff brought some icecream for us which was on the house, and the food was just out of this world and the service was super friendly. Will be returning and I recommend this place to every one out there who craves for spicy food.
The service is awesome, the food is delicious. I've had their samosas, aloo tikki, several curries, the regular naan, garlic naan, aloo naan, mango lassi, and the chicken korma. It's a little milder than I expected, but still very good.
Great!
Delicious food and friendly attentive staff. Would recommend this place highly.
The food is incredible and our service was wonderful.
I asked if the biryani was gluten free? Oh yes yes he said, gluten free. Hours in the bathroom proves him wrong. Do not trust what they say.
Best restaurant ever! Really good food! The waiter there is really nice and cool.
Fabulous food, awesome staff... a delight!
Food was descent, though poor customer service and arguing waiters/owners. Dal makhni can not be dal tadka, it doesnt matter what you guys wanna call it.
Great food n service
Awesome food! Highly recommended
Best chicken Tikka masala ever. Love this place!
Food was excellent but the restaurant atmosphere was dull.
Awsome food and service. Best Indian I have had in Maine!
Good food with polite service, at very reasonable prices.
The food is delicious! I come here at least once a week. I'm hooked.
Warm and welcoming staff - they all seemed genuinely happy to be there. Everything was very flavorful and came out to the table quickly, even during a busy dinner service. Our server was thoughtful about clarifying how spicy we wanted the meal and they did a great job of bringing exactly the level of heat that we were looking for (7 out of 10). We’ll definitely be back.
Had lunch here with my daughter. Great food and reasonably priced. Good service.
Good food need some clean up
The food was alright, definitely not the best Indian I have had, but not bad. The service was however some of the worst I have had in recent memory. It's as if they don't want you to come back again. The waiter was not as friendly as he could have been and was inattentive, which led to a long wait time before our order was taken and us having to ask for our water to be refilled multiple times. The food also took a little longer than it should have given the fact the restaurant was only half full. This place could be much better.
A family favorite. Comfortable small space, wide menu, and good dishes.
I love it and know real Indian. The best
Great Indian cuisine, better than anywhere in the us that I've tried.
Probably the best Indian food in Maine. It's always a treat to eat there, no matter what we order. Informal atmosphere, friendly service. This place has been a winner for years.
Great service, friendly customer service, food came out wicked quick! Lovely dinner =]
Absolutely delicious Indian food! Very cozy atmosphere with friendly servers who kept our glasses filled the entire time. We tried some new things we’d never had before and loved every bit of it. Highly recommend if you love flavorful, authentic Indian food!
Extensive menu. Amazing food. We drive almost an hour for just lunch. If you love Indian cuisine this is the best restaurant. No comparison.
Fast, friendly service! Both the Chicken Marsala and the Chicken Tikka Saag were delicious and spiced just like we like it - mild - but you can have it as hot as you like. Plus we loved the naan.
Had a takeaway. Utterly fantastic!! Yum yum!
Always have a good meal here. It's made to order. Staff is friendly.
Cute little place with no fancy decorations. We loved the food. If you are in town and wanna try Indian food, then this place is for you. We ordered matar paneer and mushroon chicken with lachha and pudeena parantha. It was amazing. We had our lunch at Shere Punjab and it was super cheap. Would highly recommend.
Poor restaurant design (main dining room becomes smoky and has no ventilation). Good indian food if comfortable eating outside.
Outstanding/Authentic Indian Cuisine and Service
Amazing flavors, my new favorite restaurant!
Best Indian food I've had.
Great food! The staff is always super nice and friendly.
Good food. Place is a little dated.
Wonderful food. Cozy great service.
Best Indian food in the area!
A good restaurant with lots of delicious dishes!!!
I believe this restaurant aims to give you an Indian ‘Dhaaba’ (roadside cafe) experience but it wasn’t for me! I found the food to be quite greasy and facilities to be lacking.
The food is amazing and very traditional. The spices and other flavors are tasty. The staff is great. I recommend the coconut naan and the mango lassi. Will definitely be going back!
The staff is always very friendly, the food is spectacular. I have been here several times. Have brought many people here and have never had a negative response.
Awesome!!! Would recommend with no hesitation if you love Indian food.
Loved the staples of samosas, butter chicken, naan, and lassi we'd get when we lived overseas, glad to know we can get it's equal here.
a favorite whenever I visit Brunswick just real good food cooked the way you like fast friendly service good portions
Place is always amazing.
Unbelievable food, fantastic service.
If in Brunswick we always make it a point to stop in for dinner. We've been going here for years for a good reason, it's really great food. The ambience is a little sketchy but the service, hospitality and quality food make up for the dilapidated squalor. The six year old with us was impressed with the Indian Santa Claus poster. Spoiler: it wasn't Indian Santa.
Good Indian food.
Excellent Indian food right on Maine Street. Friendly staff and a nice dining area (just a little small). Take out available.
I can honestly say that I'm a picky eater. I don't really go outside the usual main course of cheese burgers and pizza. But I LOVE THIS place - the food has been great, and I've really enjoyed trying new things. If you're timid on the menu, you can't go wrong with the Chicken Tikka Masala. I'd recommend Shere Punjab to anyone. Its a great family owned & operated local business!
Delicious!
Chicken korma amazing best I have ever had and I have traveled extensively and had korma in Indian restaurants all over the world.
Excellent food! I usually go for the Lamb Curry.
Food is mediocre but service sucks big time! Arrogant, rude, unfriendly to say the least. I'd avoid and definitely not recommend to anyone.
The food was amazing! We had chicken korma and masala and roti. Really tasty. They ask you for the spicyness and you can totally say mild and its good for european toungs. If you dont like cilantro, ask if they could leave it out. They put it on top of the dishes even if it it is not in the menu. We didnt know that but taking it off was no problem. Can really recommend this place!
We have made it a regular Friday dinner... very good food.
Always friendly and worth the drive. This tiny restaurant is loaded with flavor and you should go
Delicious.
Best indain food in New England. Authentic and perfect. Every time.
Made a reservation for a Tuesday night and when we showed up for dinner, it was closed. There was another diner outside waiting for it to open who had made a reservation as well. I'd heard great things about their food, just thought this was really poor customer service to have two reservations made for a day they we're closed.
Delicious food, varied menu, friendly service
Perhaps my favorite place in Brunswick, better than any Indian I've had in Portland. Nine gems, aloo gobi, chana saag, moli kofta, curry, all excellent
Not what I expected but still delicious, relatively quick service
I love Indian food and have had it throughout my travels. This unassuming place serves the best and most flavorful Indian food I've ever had. It's the best one in Brunswick, and among the best I've ever had. Can't go wrong here.
very good food and consistency , highly recommended.
Chicken was good .Indian beer was good too black flies were terrible .slow service.and they cleaned the table with someone's half drank water
Incredibly delicious food, as always. Will go again soon.
Fabulous, absolutely delicious! Lovely atmosphere, great service! It’s a gem!
No AC... So, be prepared to eat your food while you enjoy the heat. The food tasted really bad. One of the worst Indian food I had in years.
The best Indian cuisine anywhere!
my favourite indian restaurant in maine, so far. beats portland & great staff.
Awesome place and friendly staff. Each time they remember us as we are regulars. The fish masala rocks!
Excellent food.
My favorite and the best Indian local to me. The Shajahani Murg is the best chicken dish but the butter chicken, tika masala, samosas are delicious as well. A small family run restaurant with large portions. Must try!
Went a few weeks ago and ordered the chicken curry.and told them to make it as spicy as possible ("10 out of 10"). They legitimately made it 10 out of 10 spicy (something most Indian restaurants don't do). Will definitely try to make it back to here the next time I'm in Brunswick.
The service could be a little friendlier but I love the food at Shere Punjab. Have eaten there many times, trying many different dishes and have never been disappointed. I especially like the shrimp curry and lamb kabob but sometimes just have a bowl of dal and sweet naan. The chutneys are the best and freshest I've tasted in any Indian restaurant anywhere. There is a spice shop above the restaurant that you really must check out. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful and the prices are unbelievably reasonable.
Yummy, great food and service.
The best, most reliably delicious Indian food I've ever had in Maine, and I've tried many places. Every dish I've ever had here has been remarkably good! The atmosphere is cozy, comfortable, and warm. I recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone in the Brunswick area and beyond!
Love this place. We always have a great meal, and the staff are pleasant and helpful I highly recommend the Chicken Vindaloo.
The best food in Maine! We ordered paneer, Saag, and naan and were satisfied with the taste and quality!
Love the food and the atmosphere
Authentic Indian food. Service can be but better.
Always great food and service.
So delicious and affordable! Can't wait to go back and try more choices from the menu.
I think the food is great, service is great.
"Small restaurant with amazing food
We always make a point of eating here whenever we are down State, excellent real deal Indian food, ( we spent a month in Indian ) amazing flavors, and incredible variety, as spicy as you want it as they do not hold back if you really want it hot. And an incredible spice shop upstairs, do not miss Shere Punjab if you're passing through Brunswick.
I'm general, this was typical Indian fare. I've never experienced Indian that was above and beyond. So this gets five stars for satisfying my craving every now and then. The food was great and came quickly. The decor could use some TLC, but the servers are very attentive, and there are fun window seats for people watching.
Lack of flavor. I was craving Indian food so we decided to stop by and my cravings were not met.
Amazing food, cozy atmosphere. A wonderful place to have a bite and be with the people you care for. Highly recommended!
Best restaurant in Brunswick, right here.
Food is OK. But I think other people love it because I saw lots of people.
The food here is unsurpassed and the service is great! The only time something was wrong, they went above and beyond to fix it. Shere Punjab is our favorite restaurant in Brunswick.
This was the first time I was there. This food was beyond delicious. If I could eat there every day, I would without hesitation. The most friendly staff, and courteous folks in the restaurant business I've ever met in Maine! Anyone who took the time to read this... Do yourself a favor: go eat there! Right now! Call ahead, it's a little small and they are busy because, it's just that good! 5 out of 5.
Great Service, Great Food, cozy atmosphere.
Amazing food every time! What an amazing little gem in Brunswick! I highly recommend!
Went there 2 months back. The service is really very bad.
Charming window seats. Attentive service. Helpful spice rating of 1-10.
Very good
Really bad experience.. the food was not up to.the mark.. never ever order soup in this restaurant.. Cottage Cheese and Other curry vegetables we ordered were below average. Never gonna visit this place again
Friends had recommended this place and we were so pleased with it! The service was good and the meal was delish!
Excellent Indian food — best I’ve had in Maine.
Though I live 2000 miles away from it, this is my favorite Indian food resaurant. Great food and great people
Very good food at right price. Must go
I love this place! They were super friendly, and the food was amazing! Best Indian restaurant I've ever been to!
The food and service were both excellent.
Very tasty food, friendly staff. Wait was very long for food but restaurant was packed so understandable. Worth the wait.
Awesome Indian restaurant in Brunswick. You kind of feel "on-display" if you sit at a window-table though....
Do you think Indian food will taste like it smells? WRONG! A must go to for your first Indian food experience..."I won't like it" was the response I used to get. Now it's...when can we come back. Love it!
