As you know, we do not usually stop to put tatings when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Restaurant belongs to the category of Mexican restaurant.
We saw the reviews which sounded good. I was disappointed with food. The presentation was great! However the taste was not that good. On top the menu need some good cleaning. They are dirty and sticky. They are busy!! I understand it servers can still try to smile or pretend. Please understand servers ate here every day but some of the customers come first rime... and we rely on these servers to make us feel good for spending our hard earned money.
I will be going back to this location. The food and service was top notch. I had fish tacos, they were yummy. The sangria was one of the best I've had. The young man who was our waiter was excellent.
Not quite authentic Mexican food. The service is average. Great place for last minute dining.
Very disappointed! We ordered our drinks, never got them. We got our guacamole and dinner and we said we never got our drinks so they did bring our drinks complementary, but by then we didn’t even want them. It was our 12 year anniversary so just overall not good. Our enchiladas were good flavor. My daughter ordered nachos to go and when we opened it, it was 3 tacos of tomato, onion and cheese.
Great location overlooking the Potomac River and National Harbor. Excellent food. Service can be hit or miss as they seem to have new staff always.
Best Mexican food in DC.
YOOO THAT GUACAMOLE!!! OMG FREAKING DELICIOUS!!! (If you dont like guacamole. They do have home made chips & salsa) I went for my birthday, I had the skirt steak with rice & beans with sweet plantains as a side. My friends & I had no complaints. The drinks were even better. P.S- if it is your bday you get to wear a giant sombrero while they sing you happy birthday.
Drinks are good. But food very disappointing
How this restaurant remains viable is a mystery.
Worst meal of my life. Horrible service and very bad food. Tres Enchiladas were very disappointing, would not recommend to anyone ever. Made me sick for the 2 next days after eating. Only decent food was the chips. Would not recommend restaurant to anyone. Btw, never asked if i wanted anything to drink besides the water they provided
The food was great and service.
Best mole I've had. Truly a homemade recipe
Excellent food and great ambience. Must try the extra spicy guacamole.
This wasn’t that great. Service left you wondering if they were ever coming back to take our order. Our server never came back around until we were almost done. The plantain was burned. Just a disappointing experience and ok food. They did remove the plantain from bill so they earned 1 more star than I was willing to give. They were friendly however
Came here for happy hour and apps! They have a great bar downstairs where most of us stayed. Really spacious and the apps were good! My favorite was the guacamole, although it would’ve been better if it was spicier.
Excellent food, cocktails and service.
Better than most of the Rosa locations... nice to sit at the bar and eat.
It's a good chain mexican place centrally located at National Harbor. It has a great outdoor seating area with a view to the faux beach and the central artery of the development. The food is excellent. I like the Budin pollo and the grilled shrimp dish. The guacamole is phenomenal and not to be missed.
Consistency is key! And Rosa National Harbor is just that. Always fast service, always greeted with a smile, and my frozen mango margarita is always perfect. Definitely my go to place especially on a time crunch.
Great atmosphere for a Sunday lunch. Food and drinks were fantastic. Service was just as good. Highly recommend.
Awesome food super service amazing drinks. Go you will not be disappointed. True Mexican food in midtown.
Amazing food and incredible drinks. We had.the nachos with braised beef and were super impressed. It was small but everything tasted amazing and super fresh. The pomegranate margarita packs a punch but that could be because I was dehydrated walking around DC all day.
Delicious Mexican food, especially the enchiladas!
Quality Mexican food located in a nice environment
Great food and atmosphere. Not everyone in my group was as impressed with their enchiladas, but I liked mine. The place had a great view, but it was really loud and difficult for our party of 6 to talk to each other.
Very tasty. Nice place for a Sunday birthday lunch. Love their tableside-made guacamole.
This is the second time visiting the place. It was a birthday dinner for my friends. They all had a good time thanks to the excellent service given by the serving staff. Keep up the good service., the manager and Tommy Sandro....
The service was top notch and the food delicious.
Great food and quick service. Pricey, but its because everything is made fresh. Highly recommend it.
I have been to this place three times and today was the absolute WORSE. I called in an order at 1130am for coworkers. I arrived at 12. The lady came to the bar ordered a salad and guacamole to go received it in 10 min. I ordered 2 guacamole’s and a salad and had so continue to wait I’ve been here for almost thirty minutes despite calling it in. The previous two times the orders had something missing or wasn’t right all together. I will no longer come here for my coworkers I’d rather do the place in upper NW.
Prompt and courteous service.. food was great...I just have a problem with there employment diversity..I didn't see one Black male or female server. Only one Black male cleaning off tables. . 3 Black female hostess, at the front door. The place was packed with Black customers.... This restaurant is located in Prince George's County, Maryland..National Harbor, a highly populated African American community.. there is no excuse... for that reason I refuse to give it high marks...
The food is always good, great sevice and excellent views!
There was a very long wait , but I was able to find a seat at the bar. The young lady that attended to me was very nice and helpful. I ordered a mango margarita. It was good but a bit sour, tangy. I ordered the 3 cheese nachos with chicken Tinga. It was very good. It was layered tostadas with real a great taste. A bit spicy, but not bad. Great atmosphere, nice staff, and great food.
Delicious food, and they cater to food allergies very well.
Nice lunchroom with good meals and cocktails
A fun, calm atmosphere that’s perfect for a date or a meal shared as a family. The food was delectable, reasonably priced, & wonderful service by all the staff.
The Best Guacamole in NYC. If you live in NYC and haven’t been, you’re missing out. Everyone knows this is the place to go to for Mexican. Be in the know
Their guac was awesome. food was fresh and good portions.
Margaritas very good!!
Great margaritas and food but a bit pricey.
Thier food is good and thier staff very friendly❤
The food was delicious. Definitely get the guacamole. Drinks were expensive for what you get ($15 each), but we had a nice time.
Most amazing flavorful mexican food around
Nice atmosphere but the positive stops there. The drinks were terrible (a Bloody Mary with tequila?!) and the food was decent but very small portions for the price.
I loved it. Great flavor. Great drinks. Will be back
The food and the service are pretty good ! But the portions are too big in my opinion.
Wanted to try some Mexican food near Brooklyn bridge and this place had some good reviews.. so decided to give this place a shot. Well now I am thinking we should have skipped this place. The ambience is really classy and great. However the service is where they lost most of their stars. First of all it was slow. It was empty when we ordered food so we thought we would be served really quick... well that was not the case.. it took almost an hour for our entrees to come out of the kitchen. We had ordered one shrimp quesadilla and veggie enchilada. The quesadilla was served cold and my friends didn’t like the taste. I had specifically asked for them to add onions in the enchilada and they forgot to add. Later server asked if I wanted them inside the enchilada or over it.. thinking they would take time to add some onions too I asked to garnished it. The sauce was super tangy. But we didn’t care since we were hungry. Well I guess you can definitely skip this place... you will not miss anything amazing.
I have never tasted Mexican food before. Now it is one of my favorite. I really liked the guacamole and the tequila. The service was great. The restaurant is so beutifully decorated. It's a treasure. You sholdn't missed it!
This spot never fails to impress. They serve good food for convenient pricing, there is no waiting time even when the spot is loaded.
Upscale Mexican. Very good. Not your typical taqueria or cantina.
Love it!! Would definitely recommend it & go there again.
Short staff. Service takes long
Delicious and authentoc tasting food. If youre looking for Tex-Mex or "Mexican" deep fried chimichanga and covered in cheese sauce, youre at the wrong place. Expect a variety of flavors and influence from Oaxaca, Sonora, and D.F. AMAZING food and great drinks!
Oh my god my assistant I just left here and after spending 3 days in a horrific convention hotel nearby I was so thrilled just to be greeted and spoken to by the hostess the way we were. I believe her name way Elysia? No clue how to spell it but ah to be greeted enthusiastically and spoken to like she was thrilled to see us was just so nice. Hostess never get the credit they deserve and she was top knot he. Our server, whose name I cannot remember, gave us wonderful recommendations and the spicy guacamole was so good. Our drinks and food were perfect. I cannot get over how well we were just treated and cannot thank them enough for making us feel so welcome, by the time we got the check I didn’t even care what the bill was because the VALUE was truly there.
Great decor and food. A bit tight when crowded.
Wonderful drinks at bottomless drink brunch . good Food excellent home made guacamole
Yummy and great service!
I came in with a group of 6, I was told at the front door they were closed by the serving staff it was only 9:45pm on a monday night but i could grab a quick drink at the bar. So we decided to leave.
Fresh and fast food. Freshly made guac rocks my socks. Indoor and outdoor seating with a view of the water. The service is fast and excellent.
Upscale Southwestern Tex Mex food served well. A little pricey but worth it. Great views of the river.
Walked in. Place wasn’t crowded. Sat at the high top table right at the front door at the recommendation of the hostess. Sat there for 10 minutes. Nobody acknowledged me. Servers walked by the whole time I was there. The hostess just looked at me. It’s like I was invisible. I got up and walked out.
The guac was great! This was our second time and both times the service has been poor and our food was just ok.
Awesome enchiladas and skirt steak.
Very disappointed with the food. It has been a while since the last time I visited this restaurant and I recall enjoying my food, this time the food was just bland, no flavor, nothing special to it, the only thing that was good was the guacamole.
Stopped by for drinks only. Service was excellent and drinks very good.
A little pricey for what it is. Guacamole is $16. There also aren't that many vegetarian selections if you're looking for that. However, the food was good and the service was decent.
Almost always a good choice. Sometimes seating can be a bit annoying though
Food was excellent...but the service wasn't great...Beautiful environment
Small portions with a huge amount flavor. Well worth the mile walk to get there.
Visited for a late lunch. It was moderately busy compared to neighboring establishments. Due to plenty of tables being open, we were seated promptly. However, we received no service from the wait staff for more than half an hour (not even taking our drink order). Additionally, the staff was fairly fake and insincere, because their body language was completely opposite of the words coming from their mouth (disgruntled employees perhaps?). We don't frequently visit the National Harbor, and it will be even longer before we revisit this establishment to update this 1 star rating and review.
Excellent service and food. Guacamole tableside is always a great bet and cannot go wrong with the sangria!
Had the skirt steak special... OMG good! So rarely am I so impressed with flavor, but this was exceptional. And the food was only 1/2 the pleasure ...I'm going to spell her name wrong, but Eurita was possibly the most outstanding waitress I've ever had the pleasure... So personable, knowledgeable of the menu....made the dinner experience.. AMAZING! THANK YOU
Mexican food on the gourmet side. From smoky salsa and chips to excellent fish main course, it was not grease laden as dishes at other Mexican rwstaurants.
They had unlimited brunch which was fantastic. The large guac huge. The margs are good, the mango mimosa not so much.
We live in Mexico so were a bit sceptical when our party booked in to here. The guacamole was very good, the molcacete salsa as if we were in mexico, the fish tacis as if we were sitting on the beach in La Paz. Well worth the visit.
Had a surprise birthday there last Saturday and the staff, food, and drinks were great. The music there was on point, wish they had a dance floor. But overall great place, price was good and the portions were good.
Went during my lunch break during jury duty. Service was good and my waiter was very nice! Cell service is awful inside but that was only an issue because I was by myself. I got taos which were good but a little dry. The green salsa om top was also just a small drop on top which was not really enough for the whole taco. The portions were a good size!
This was without a doubt the worst Mexican restaurant I have ever been to. One the characteristics of Mexican food is fresh vegetables which I didn't get here. In addition to that the very rude staff makes it even not worth giving them 1 star!
My preferred spot for quality mexican food. I like it here, excellent food & service. Prices that won't shock you.
I love this place. Everything was wonderful and the guacamole was made fresh.
Food was good, not great. Kinda expensive. Nice atmosphere.
Nice ambience, good good, good service
Great food; Excellent service. Much recommended!
Amazing food, really a gem right by the subway exit! Eat here now! Freddy our host was phenomenal, fantastic recommendations very reasonable pricing, food was fantastic! Put this in your belly!
It’s a ok place for Mexican food. Dishes are well served but I think I’m always bias rating Mexican food because it no my thing. Prices are also ok.
Best guac you'll ever have and great selection of tequilas and margaritas
On 7/17 my friend and I stopped to have some food before the JLO concert, as we do whenever we go to concerts in that area. It was busy as usual. We went to the bar in the back area, not the main one. Our margaritas were very weak and didn’t taste as they normally taste. We go to the happy hour quite a bit in Potomac, Gringos & Mariachis, and we have consistently had great margaritas. When I said something to the bartender, he added quite a bit more and then charged us for 2 extra shots. I didn’t ask for extra shots, only to be made as anywhere else does. He never asked if this would be ok. Then the chicken quesadillas were slapped together and they didn’t even give us sour cream, I could have made this better myself. I asked for sour cream twice and no one got back to me. The bill was over $70.00. I did tip, even though I was very dissatisfied with the service that I will not go back again.
The service is always rapid, good vibes, super friendly staff members. I will come back again when I arrive here.
Service is awful, front desk workers are distracted. Food portions do not match the price. Overall experience, would not come back.
Excellent food, we liked everything we tried. Nice restaurant and atmosphere. Will go back if/when in the neighborhood.
- this place is one of the best Mexican restaurants around the DMV area, they have such good food and the most amazing guacamole and salsa that you'll ever eat. And all the food is super fresh every time I come here. - staff are always super friendly and helpful - the place is clean - They also have some really good alcoholic beverages - the prices aren't that bad for the area either - good atmosphere inside and out, I've ate here at least 40 times and never felt bad vibes or had to deal with rude staff or anything. - I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone living or visiting around the area
A very nice after movie dinner
In a word... fantastic! This was my first visit... I'm not a fan of Mexican cuisine BUT I've gained a new appreciation for it. Everything was excellently prepared... fresh, delicious with an authentic presentation. The staff was attentive professional and very friendly.
Loved the guacamole. Prompt efficient service. This place is must visit when you're at the National Harbor.
Full restaurant, but we stopped in at the bar for drinks. The Cocojito was fabulous. Great margaritas. Enjoyed house sangria. Friendly staff. Bathroom was clean.
Food is terrible and the restaurant is the opposite of clean. We had to return three drinks because there were something "floating" in it
In no way shape or form worth the price. The food isnt bad, just not worth the price.
Toooo cold , non -veg in my veg food , food take ages to arrive . Nice interiors , non satisfactory service too.
Love the guacamole . Made fresh at the table
Bad experience. Long wait for food, Stake came out cold, sent back and came back over cooked. All other meals were good. Not great.
Fantastic food and excellent service. Great guac. Try the chicken with huitlacoche!
Terrible, slow, inattentive service. It took over half an hour just to get the guacamole. Food was overpriced relative to mediocre quality. Avoid.
Food was so bad.. even service too.. rates are two high and food was tasteless It is just bar than restaurant
The food was good however the service was horrible. My boyfriend and I went here for Christmas dinner and we couldn’t be treated anymore rudely. We are young but are there because we can, and we were treated as if we were invisible. Our server barely paid attention to us and I had to tel him to clear stuff; get us more water etc. the whole night the manager checked on every single table but always passed ours. When we left there was 4 hosts, and the manager by the door and NO ONE acknowledged us, no bye, no thank you, no merry Christmas, nothing. It was rude and ridiculous. I will never go back and I will never recommend anywhere to go here.
Great food. Great service. They were very accommodating an allergy.
It's easy and tasty!
Simply amazing food and atmosphere
Good food and decent happy hour menu.
Fantastic food! Amazing service! Price point is great given area.
I liked the salmon poblano. (I never knew this dish existed). Maybe the chicken house special will be available.
I visited with the family during our trip to DC. Their guacamole is the best. They makenit fresh at your table. Organic. The margaritas are just out of this world. The price is not that high and the wait for the table was very short. I highly recommend it.
One of my favorite places to eat in the area. Very nice setting next to the water. Excellent food and friendly staff. Kid-friendly and stroller accommodating.
Went on game night for the CAPS
The food was amazing! I tried things I normally wouldn't have. I loved everything they brought out. The drinks were great. It was a nice atmosphere and a beautiful view of the sunsetting on the harbor.
Extraordinary food! I got the seafood bowl. Don't remember what it was called, but it had mussels, scallops and clams in a delicious broth. Our server was on top of everything and yet very unobtrusive. The view is also wonderful. The price point is higher than most Mexican restaurants, but the food was well worth it!
Big contenders in the margarita game. ... Reasonably priced for the area. Great happy hour menu and date night locale. Super packed during caps games
Oh man... This was some amazing Mexican food
Food is good but service.... Oh man. Soooo slow. We had our waiter just chatting all the time it was so difficult to get his attention. The fresh guac is a must try.
Food was good. It was classy but not too classy - I was wearing shorts and felt just fine.
Great service. Only got some appetizers and it was delicious
Great authentic upscale mexican food. Service was top quality and the food was amazing.
I will never eat here again! There was an hour wait we were told by the host the bar area is first come, first serve. I went and spoke to the cocktail waitress that was waiting the area and asked whenever a table is available can myself and 3 other guest have the next table. She agreed to that and said it’s first come, first serve but she would let us know what tables are getting up so we could have the tables. My wife and I sat at the bar ordered guacamole and cocktails while we waited for a table and our other two friends to arrive! We waited almost an hour just for two white families to come in and take both of the tables that had gotten up that we were waiting for. My wife and I watched each table like a hawk to make sure we were able to get a table and of course white people , their privilege, and their lies!!!! Saying that they asked the tables could they have the tables which were lies because we were watching and they never asked and they came in 20-40 minutes after us but hey do I sit here and fight over a table when they have their children with them ( which children shouldn’t sit in a bar area anyway) or just be the great person I was raised to be and let it go!!! It was disrespectful and disgusting!!! Minorities were treated like trash which is very unfortunate and I’m in the industry and tip VERY WELL!!! Never again and of course the managers or the staff didn’t do anything!!!!
Wasn't sure about the restaurant from the entrance and sign. Food was great! Excellent salsa and chips. Had the Tampiqueña de Carne Asada (Tampico)- didn't disappoint!
Horrible service. 1) The kids meals come with an ice cream scoop (it says so clearly on the kids menu). Waiter said "We used to do this, not anymore". 2) The mango margarita was made from rotten mango juice, disgusting. 3) Not 1 person was friendly. 4) I'll give it a 2 star instead of a 1 because the food came out quick and it was good. This is on a Friday afternoon, where the best service is suppose to be provided (weekend). Avoid this restaurant. There are PLENTY others in this area much MUCH better than this one.
The delicious food with reasonable prices is here. The staff was well manner and behaved well. The attitude of the staff was too kind. Environment is airy and enjoyable. I really enjoyed here.
Their guacamole is made right at the table and is the best I have ever had. A lot of gluten free options also.
The steak is hard and chewy. Overall, pretty ordinary.
Hands down one of the most authentic Mexican cuisine I have ever had. The service was great, the staff was very accommodating to our large group, and the drinks are AMAZING.
Last night in DC just wandered around and found Rosa Mexicano. It was authentic and reasonably priced. Also has wonderful windows to people watch outside.
Friendly staff and great food. Can't go wrong with freshly made guacamole at the table
They make great margaritas! The guacamole is also great. The restaurant is pricey though.
I. Am. In. Love. With the freshly made table side guac.
Always a great place. Good food and good staff!
Disappointing. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, and have vacationed in Mexico several times. This place mused the mark big time. Over prices and the fajitas were served in an Asian small square platter. Beans and rice in a separate bowl lumped together.........nope. Just go downstairs to Chipotle, save a couple hundred and have a better meal. I don't drink so maybe that's where all the hype comes on with this place. BTW.......Im a harbor resident and I will continue to bypass this place and recommend that others do the same.
Great place! Good food and ambiance. Friendly staff.
Good Mexcian food.
Drinks, food and waiters are always the best....
Food was cold, order was messed up, and generally overpriced for what you get. Hand dryer broken in men's room. Nice decor, though.
Do not let the presentation of the food FOOL YOU. The food here is bland and the customer service is terrible. I have left a customer complaint on the corporate website about two weeks ago and still have not heard a reply. Do not eat here. Definitely not worth it. Still awaiting an email or call from management.
The food is good but I've had better in other small restaurants on Capitol Hill and elsewhere. Also is a very noisy place
Don’t waste your money. Food was mediocre, overpriced and on top of it music is too loud. To make things worse,The heavy set Hispanic hostess was quite rude. She didn’t have the decency to walk to us and tell us the table was ready. Instead she decided to be loud and obnoxious, screaming across the room. Very disappointing experience.
Excellent food and substantial serving.
Great food! You can tell the right people are cooking & preparing this food here. Perhaps my waitress was having a bad day because she really wasn't much of a server but everything else about this place is just phenomenal! I'm not much of a drinker but the choices a plenty.
One of my favorite restaurants in DC. Everything I've ordered here is fantastic, well thought out, balanced and authentic. From the chips and salsa and guacamole, to any entree or side like their delicious elote, Rosa Mexicano is a cut above. It doesn't end there though, the service here is truly exceptional. I have always been welcomed like family by the staff. They never miss a beat and are magically on hand refilling your water, replacing a dropped napkin, or getting anything else you may need, yet remain unobtrusive. Eating here is a special experience that goes far beyond simply getting something to eat.
The service here is what really brings down the rating. There seem to be more than enough waiters but nowhere near enough service. The food is good but the price is a little steep for what you get. The tacos are in my opinion the best thing they have and the drinks are good too
The service was good. The food was very good. Good value. It was packed on a Tuesday with a concert across the street, but they still took good care of us. Definitely will do again.
Look, I'll keep it short and sweet. I was told rave reviews on this place so I blocked off a whole night and honestly I could have wandered down to Baja Fresh and saved myself like $80 if I wanted microwave Mexican food served to me by unhappy, disgruntled, and almost silent wait staff while they stepped on stale taco shells ground into the carpet. Maybe I got a bad night, maybe the stars didn't align and "contemporary Mexican cuisine rooted in authentic flavors" wasn't in the cards for me. If I ever go to Rosa Mexicano again it'll be because I am being brought there by a friend who probably has never been before. I'm so disappointed. The margs were pretty good though, can't complain. (I posted a picture in the gallery of the disgusting tortilla carpet but it doesn't seem to be linked to the review, at least on mobile, go through the gallery, you'll know it when you see it. Yikes.)
Tasty food. Lacks beer variety.
Fast efficient service, great staff and delicious drinks. Great place for happy hour and dinner...
The food was good, service was incredibly slow despite my mentioning to the server we had a time limit on lunch. I'm disappointed by the experience, except for the food.
Waiter was super attentive and nice. Food was tasty, but had high prices. Definitely a fancier place.
They don't have a lot of vegan options, but the roasted cauliflower and kale and grilled corn salad was terrific. The rice and beans may be the best I've ever had. I appreciated that the waiter confirmed my request for no dairy.
It was good, but nothing mind blowing for the price. I've had much better at small, family run Mexican places. We ordered 2 servings of guac for the table (each serving consisted of 1 avocado, tomato, onion and seasonings) which still wasn't enough for the table (there were 6 adults). I had the enchiladas served 3 different ways, which at $24, was nothing great. The Mole was better than average. The other two sauces were forgettable. For the price, I was expecting something really special. I only gave 3 stars because the staff was friendly and attentive. But in the end, it was mediocre and overpriced.
Definitely enjoyed our experience, my wife and I loved the service and the food we got, I would recommend it to anyone that is in the DC area and by the Capital one arena.
The guac and fresh chips and salsa was so delicious. Ask for a side of their home made hot sauce. It's hot and spicey, full of wonderful flavor. The nachos were unusual so my teen did not eat much of it, but I thought it was delicious. There were no burritos on the menu. The red wine sangria was delicious but the only fruit in the drink were apples, so kind of boring, but it was delicious.
Very good. Must have the guacamole
Everything was delicious, flavorful! Literally an explosion of flavors in my mouth. Tried a michelada for the first time and loved it!! Elote is highly recommended!
Great location, good service, good drinks and appetizers
Oh man this spot is really good modern American Mexican spot NOT TEX MEX their drinks DELICIOUS the food SUPERB Will definitely come back just dont go too hard on the bottomless drinks let me tell you that lol.
Placed a paid phone order with Nora on 5/5/19 at noon for a 6:30 delivery. Never arrived and I called, left on hold for 10 minutes until someone answered and was looking for my order. He came back on the phone and said it was in its way. An hour later I called back and spoke with same gentleman and said he found my order and would get it out ASAP. By 9:00 we were furious and called back and Nora said they made a mistake and were sending it right away and they NEVER CAME WITH THE DELIVERY!!! UNACCEPTABLE AND NOT AN EXCUSE!!!! How do you do that to a customer! This is your business and if you cannot deliver food then you shouldn’t say you can!!! We will NEVER eat in any of your establishments again! Shame on you!
Our group came here for appetizers and drinks while visiting a conference and it was a great experience. The wait staff was accommodating and helpful. Overall the food was good, especially the plantains and flautas. The table side guacamole was lacking flavor though. This place has a cool vibe.
Solid place for Mexican food! Gotta get the chorizo queso dip!!
Great food, awesome guac, marginal service. The gentleman that took care of our table was fine but the rest of the wait staff was lacking... I requested more chips but they never arrived (from the man that delivered the food to our table). When another man came to pick up the plates, he didn't ask if I wanted a box and when I asked for one he said, "for that?" Which is such a weird response... What else would I want the box for?? Picture below of what was left (about 1/4th of my chicken/cheese/peppers and the majority of the guac we'd ordered... that didn't come with the chips I'd asked for). This place is a mixed bag.
Liked Rosa Mexicano. Food and service was good. Fast service. Great mojitos. I would go back.
We had our son's graduation dinner here last night . The catering manager, Cheyenne, was so helpful and made our event so special. Excellent food, beautiful decor and a festive atmosphere made for a fun evening!
Upscale Mexican place in the city. Loved their fresh guac. Entree was just okay. Did not like the green sauce that came with the burrito. And too much spinach in the burrito.
You only pay for the location and the very nice restaurant, that's it. Food and server is not good. They serve the food without any silverware on the table and when I ask for silverware it took them long time before it get brought to us so …
Food here is yum, best guac in the city! The downstairs area is nice and mellow during the week. No matter which Rosa you go to in the city, they are all consistently a great place to meet friends for dinner.
Very delicious food! Big variety of dishes. Great atmosphere and a friendly staff. Their Avocado ice cream is to die for
Loved it, awesome place. One of our favorite in wdc
As always, the best margaritas and guacamole around.
Upon entry into the restaurant our party was greeted by the front desk staff. They were extremely courteous and asked if our entire party was present. When we told them that they were not, we were expecting to be pushed off and have to wait longer for our table. They told us that we could be seated at the table and wait for the remainder of our party or we could go to the bar and wait for our entire party before being seated. The overall atmosphere was homely. Everything appeared to be authentic and extremely well kept. The bar staff was extremely helpful, especially when deciding what drinks to get from the menu. The food was very delicious. The attention to detail was out of this world. I had a steak taco and it was really delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant to a friend or associate looking for a place to go. The menu is a little pricey, but well worth it.
Went here when they opened in the morning. One hour later, came back to the resturant being closed. Makes me question the cleanliness of what we ate.
Delicious brunch, complimentary skillet cornbread, delicious
Great drinks, great service.
Great staff and foid
Never had a restaurant make guac in front of me before that was different. But good different. Chips and salsa/guac were fresh and delicious (expect a little spice) nice atmosphere. Food was good not spectacular but ok. Manager and staff helpful/really nice people. Wait wasn’t too long . A little on the pricier side if anyone was curious but you’re getting fresh guac so it’s fair. If you like Tex-mex/Mexican give it a try
EXCELLENT dinning experience.... Wish they had a location in Loudoun county.
The food was excellent and the service was wonderful.
Really and truly, Rosa Mexicano is near the top of my list for restaurants in the DC area and at National Harbor. It has a fantastic ambiance and delicious food. We always order the Nachos, which are served "experience-style", the Hongos Tacos (wild mushroom), and the Vegetales. The virgin beverages are great as well, Strawberry Mango and Watermelon Elixir. The staff here is professional and friendly as well. Don't hesitate to eat here if you've got the chance!
Great food and atmosphere.
Great Bartender, drinks were excellent!
I'm Hispanic and grew up in TX eating home-cooked Mexican meals and eating with my family in Mexico. I'm very impressed by the food I've eaten at Rosa Mexicano! In particular, the alambre de carne and enchiladas are not to be missed. The fresh guacamole made table side is also a tasty starter.
An upscale Mexican place in Tribecca. The salsa and guacamole were good but the rest of the food was okayish. Nothing delicious, quantity was less and definitely not worth the price. Also it was a friend's birthday and I had requested the person who seated us to inform our server to get a dessert towards the end but nobody did anything. A little disappointed
The best mexican food I ever had, without a doubt, would recommend 100% !!
We had a marvelous dinner with the family ...
Food was barely average, front desk staff was rude, service was very slow, and is expensive considering the quality. The only pro is that the place has a good atmosphere. But overall a place to avoid.
Horrible service. We were seated right away around 3:00 pm on a weekday. The restaurant was not busy. Waiter came with a pitcher of water and asked if we wanted to start with the Guacamole (it was up there with the best I have ever had). After the tableside guac arrived, we didn't see a waiter for almost 25-30 minutes. Literally the only staff walking in our area were busboys who didn't speak English. Once the server came back to the table to ask if we had been served, we told him no and he proceeded to apologize and make excuses about miscommunication. He told us he would bring extra guac (he never did) and we had to tell him that we wanted to order. Our meals came out but we did not see that waiter until we told him we needed the bill about 35-40 minutes later. No check in after the meals and drinks were brought out. Don't know if it wait staff was low that day but I haven't had service this poor in many, many years.
Delicious food and great service. We started with the nachos which are very different from the usual run-of-the-mill ones you get at almost any other restaurant. The entree's were great as well. Overall definitely a place to come back
Good food. Packed on the weekends. I was on time for my reservation and they almost gave my table away.
Bartender was preoccupied with chatting with her friends. Drink was good
Very nice place to dine and eat. This is one of the the best Mexican restaurant i have been to and you will obviously be blown by the food. Its so delicious and sitting at the bar gives you partial view of the wheel
The waiter was extremely nice, but the margaritas were terrible. They tasted like pure lime juice. So sour!
A big disappointment . Went there a few years ago and it was delicious . Took my husband yesterday and it has gone downhill. The menus were dirty and sticky and the floors were dirty . The servers didn’t seem happy and the food was not good . Will not go back. The one thing that was good was the guacamole. That is why I gave it 2 stars .
I dinned here last night. I had first tried to go to the Walrus across the street, but they had a 30 minute wait for a table, plus I realized it was Taco Tuesday, so I chose Rosa Mexicano instead and was glad I did! They make guacamole fresh and right at your table. The staff is friendly and accommodating and while it may not all be authentic (some fusions going on) the food tastes great. I had shrimp and shredded beef tacos. They have Juaritos (Mexican Soda) which I love! Most of all I recommend patio seating - the Sunset view of the Harbor is breathtaking!
Great food and atmosphere. However, they ask if you want guacamole at the beginning, but dont inform you that it costs $16.50 and is considered an appetizer.
I have been going since it first opened and knew Ms. Howard the owner very well. Alas, she has passed, but the restaurant remains at the top although the menu choices have been reduced. If you can, try to make Happy hour which is an excellent deal for special drinks and half priced small dishes (until 7PM).
Rosa Mexicano is easily my favorite Mexican Restaurant in the DC-Metropolitan area. All of the food is fantastic and the service is truly second to none. The table side handmade guacamole is a treat and they make some pretty funky and unique margaritas too! I couldn’t recommend Rosa Mexicano any more highly!!
Great Service..Great food... Our menu was personalized with a happy Birthday note to our celebrants. Our group #SistersOfNursing had a blast..
The food was great, and the bartender I eventually had was great. The service in general and one of the managers is sub par. I waited ten minutes for a server to greet me before finally moving to the bar. A manager apologized and offered to buy my margarita, which didn't happen. When I informed her of it, her attitude was unacceptable and instead of fixing it, she simply apologized and shrugged. I also witnessed a bar patron who ordered to go food ask about his order. The other bartender made three more drinks before asking someone about the bag of food that had been sitting for at least 10 minutes. He gave it to the customer finally, and when the customer mentioned it'd been sitting there for a while, the bartender simply shrugged out an apology. Basically, if you're cool waiting ten minutes for things, this place is great.
Neat dining experience, a bit pricy though
Excellent happy hour specials. They are not cheap, but it is worth every bite! Try the carnita chilaquiles and white wine sangria!
Their drinks are pretty good. Service by the bar is hit or miss though. I’ll go back because the sangria is great! The fish tacos are delicious
Walked in half hour before closing and was told they closed early for maintenance. However, there were a dozen people within view that were dining. I detect some deception in their statement.
Love this place. Food is great and the guacamole is to die for....
Delicious food nyc prices but worth it
If only zero stars were an option ... Either I was extremely unlucky, or people who call this food fresh and authentic have been sadly deprived all their lives. TIP: when visiting for lunch, ensure that they charge you lunch prices, not that it is much cheaper, but it's the principle and deceit. In short, the food was stale and overpriced, the service was lacking in every way, and on top of it, the cleanliness was questionable. Now the details... Service: First, the host wanted to seat us in a dark corner, while there were several empty tables by the window, but he did seat us by the window when we asked. I love how they nonchalantly ask if you would like guac shortly after being seated, before you can see the $15.50 pricetag, and I'm sure many customers fall prey to their tactics. We were there around 2pm, yet we received the dinner menu, and that was the price that was charged. The waiter never introduced himself although he was friendly enough, however not once did anyone come by to ask how the food is. When we were leaving, we walked right past him, but he was too engrossed in conversation with two of his colleagues to utter a word to us, and neither of the hosts said goodbye or thank you. Perhaps my skin is a little more brown than the other customers who were there at the time. Food: if we were given the opportunity to provide feedback, we would have told them that the food was only luke warm. Considering that it was the veggie al carbon (which should be like veggie fajitas), so should come out sizzling, I'm pretty sure we were served leftovers, because it was obvious the food was just reheated and presented on the cast iron dish (maybe that's why they charged us dinner prices...lol). The kale and corn tasted ok, and the cauliflower would have been good if it were made fresh. But the bell peppers were appallingly stale and inedible. Despite the server describing the veggies as being served with cheese, there were only a few sprinkles of queso fresco in the beans and rice, and none on the entre itself. There was a teeny serving of pico de gallo, along with equally little portions of a couple of salsas. But everything tasted like it came from a packet anyway. Cleanliness: For a place that would like to charge the prices of a nicer establishment, the least they can do is clean the windows. There were spots all over the big beautiful windows. The menu was dirty (I expect that in a place where a burrito is $8, not $20). And last, the soap dispenser in the ladies room did not have soap, and you would think for a nicer place, they would offer customers paper towels, not just the noisy hand blowers. Now, don't get me wrong... I've dined at hole in the wall joints where you get meals for under $6, and I've also dined at finer establishment where a meal is easily $100 pp. But this was just unacceptable on any level. Management, you really need to get your staff in shape.
Attentive waiters and delicious food
The chicken served with my enchiladas was very tough and did not seem to be cooked well enough. Furthermore after I returned the chicken it was brought to me not well done again and tasted weird. Additionally the Tortillas were cold, the rice and black beans served as sides were cold too and last but not least the waiter was very slow and unfriendly, he almost seemed annoyed.
Derrick and the entire wait staff were friendly, atmosphere was jovial, food was delicious you gotta try the chick and steak entree,oh the guacamole medium alone was D eelish
Pretty decent mexican food
Table side guacamole was fantastic! Ambiance very special. Rest of the menu is good, not memorable.
Very good menu great guacamole and service. Brunch was decent and be prepared to take food home
Favorite place in DC for guacamole, margaritas and ceviche.
A great selection of cocktails and tasty food. The carnitas and the mezcalisco are a fabulous pairing.
One of the better Mexican restaurants in NYC
Nice place decent food, make sure you try the guacamole. Service was ok. I would plan to get here early during peak hours or reserve table ahead.
Here for an office lunch. First time back in a few years. Seems the quality of the food has dropped off. They still make the guacamole at the table, but it's not as flavorful. Neither was the rest of the food on our special menu. Hot sauce not as hot, for my taste. I was just a bit disappointed. The churros however we're great. Don't think I'll rush back.
Our waiter was great. Food was even better! Steak fajitas was a great choice. $26 was pretty expensive but the food did not disappoint.
Fun spot. Food was great. The freshly made guacamole tableside was a treat. I got enchiladas and there were 3 different moles with great profiles. Fun time.
Visiting from Dallas, I realize I'm not going to be eating Tex-Mex in NYC. My chili relleno was great, sauce was good, but the little bowl of refried beans and Spanish rice they brought to be shared by five people - it was pitiful. Like most everything in the city my meal was expensive - would have been half as much for bigger portions in Dallas, but it's the big apple, people are proud of how expensive things are. Whatever. They did a great job on the guacamole!
Table service is great. Food and drinks are on point. Only reason why I'm not giving 5 stars is because the bathrooms are beyond disgusting. Two stalls in the men's bathroom including handicap. Handicap was locked with no one in it. Remaining stall was flooded in piss. Employee used it right before me and did nothing. Ended up throwing my shoes away.
I thought this place was nice for takeout. The tres enchiladas with rice all tasted great!
Very good food.
Great place, food is excellent and confortable....
Love to dine there when I’m in DC! If you are looking for Taco Bell, stay away! This is excellent food with wonderful table side guacamole and magnificent margaritas!!!
Authentic Mexican food at a reasonable price. Quickly seated and served. Best guacamole I've ever had. Highly recommended
Great food and cocktails, I loved that they made the guacamole fresh at your table
Good food. Good margaritas. Expensive. Nice view.
A very nice restaurant with amazing cheese dip, and awesome tacos. Enjoyed everything, and everybody was really great to me-- even though I came alone during a busy time, nobody rushed or pushed me.
This restaurant was beautiful. The food was good BUT I can't believe there were no fajitas on the menu. This is an "upscale" Mexican restaurant. I now know I prefer "regular" ones. The food was beautifully plated. Waiters were nice. It just wasn't quite right without fajitas, so I'm a little bias. Will I go again, maybe.
Enjoyed it. Just wish Happy Hour started earlier.
Really good food and service.
I made birthday reservations. It was suppose to be a surprise. Well the waitress had no idea. The hostess told me I had to tell her after I'd been there for an hour. SMH The waitresses all around never smiled. They didnt check to make sure you were ok. And ALL of the salsa was VERY HOT! SMH I do not recommend until they work on the customer service and offer mild and medium salsa. I know HOT is not only served in Mexico. Very disappointed
Always good before an event across at Capital One areana
Only have been here a few times for smaller food options and drinks. The guac, chips, and margs are great though! Love coming here for those!
Decent bar/restaurant. Friendly service. Decent food. Considering it's in Manhattan prices aren't too steep. Music too loud it's my biggest criticism. Toilet relatively clean. Would visit again. Maybe even worth to pick as a date location.
Went out for National Margarita Day. Bar was busy but bartenders and staff were attentive. The Bartender Arturo was fantastic. Best mango margarita's and guacamole was amazing! Definitely coming back again.
For entrée, we had guacamole, which was lovely! For main, I had the carnitas, which was amaaaazing! Truly delicious! My partner had the mixed grill, which was "ok" (sauce that came with it should be on the side, separate, not under the food). Also had a marguerita and a mojito, and they were delicious! Will definitely be coming back
They've got a lot of nice tea.
My experience has always been a good one at this reataurant. Highly recommend that you make a reservation via their website. They are popular and the wait can be long especially since they are in a good location on the corner, and on the way to the Capital Wheel and the pier.
Loved the food. I had the enchiladas. It was delish. They make their guac right at your table.
First time trying this place. Nice ambiance. Food was good.
Great food, very flavorful. And spicy when needed to be.
Great food. Wonderful servers and super cool to have white table cloth covered tables for lunch. Perfect place for an easy relaxed meal.
So disappointing! We have visited RM many times in NYC and decided to visit the DC location on a recent trip. We ordered the guac "medium", but it was the blandest we've ever tasted! It seemed like plain mashed up avocado, and there was very little of it (like 1 avocado) for $15.50! We also ordered fish tacos. These were almost cold and seemed like they had been prepared way in advance of our order! We're assuming the NYC locations may be following the same formula now and will not visit either again. Total waste of money!
Upscale Mexican restaurant. Tableside guacamole service, full bar and very good Mexican inspired haute cuisine. If you are looking for elevated Central American fare, this is the place. The food is not authentic Mexican/Central American, but they do bring the flavors and some of the central ingredients into a fine dining setting.
Went to the downtown location. Food was good but the highlight has to be the margaritas!
Fresh and tasty. Hand made cocktails are on point!
Great taste great service
The food was top notch, servcie was excellent, and the churros for dessert were perfect.
Super helpful staff and amazing food.
We always have a great experience at these restaurants.
Superb food, strong drinks, great service, attractive in an old school New York way. Highest recommendation.
Loved the tableside guac and tres enchiladas were great!
Delicious food, great service!
Came out for dinner tonight and received nothing but great service from Jacqueline. Awesome service thank you.
Good food and service, excellent menu choices; very popular, so rather noisy.
The only reason this has more than one star is because the food was delicious. We got to the restaurant at 6 for a reservation, but our table wasn't ready. After standing in line for more than an hour and a half, they took us to the basement to wait some more. Our table wasn't ready for another hour, and it wasn't until 9:45 that a waiter finally saw us. They may have been short-staffed, but they should expect more business on Cinco de Mayo. It took us 15 minutes to eat and go, but it was a 4-hour ordeal.
Beef was dry, pork was tasteless and food was served cold. Drinks were strong, guacamole was good and the hostess was very welcoming so two stars but the waitress wouldn't smile and it appeared to us that having customers made her upset.
Food is great and the staff is amazing.. staff is courteous and and very happy to accommodate you. The only little thing is that it is not cheap.. after its new york...everything is expensive..
This high-end restaurant does not disappoint: Fabulous cocktails and sangria, guacamole made at your table, and excellent food. All served in a lovely atmosphere.
Please is cozy and friendly. This drink was good!
Guac was great. Overall a nice place to eat before going to a capitals game. Arena located right across the street.
I love them food and service is great
Don't think the food was as good as other Mexican restaurants. Good atmosphere, though.
Good service, nice presentation.
The food was very fresh. The drinks were very good.
Came here on a Monday for a 6:30pm reservation for 7 people. This place is big. There is a backroom which is good for big parties. There is another bar and seating area in the basement. I had the mango chile which is basicallyango juice with tequila with chile in the rim. Delish! We had the guacamole for an appetizer with medium spiciness and it was mild. For main course I had fish tacos which came with a side of eleote. It was big and I had to eat just the fish on the 3rd taco. They call out vegetarian and gluten free dishes on the menu. It wasn't a big selection but enough to choose from. The others ordered carnitas and empanada. Bravo New York for having good Mexican food from various regions.
Attended on a Friday evening(9/20/19). It was extremely busy, slow service from waiting staff and cold meals. However, the view and atmosphere was positive.
Great service. My salmon was a little under cooked for my liking. Our server took it back and gave me a new salmon filet.....and it was cooked to perfection.
Great ambience, the food was delicious. The server was really nice although I didn't get her name. Would have preferred some ice in my water however that's a little thing. Really enjoyed myself.
The food here is very good. I can speak to the quality of the tacos I had there, and the food quality was outstanding. It was a little pricey but you will get quality food for your money. The location is amazing too. Close to the metro, and literally anything in the DC area.
Great food. Tacos were great. And the fresh made guac was amazing!!!
Loved the Margaritas, and Fish Tacos. The bartender was attentive and very friendly.
I know Mexican and loved this place. Try the carne asada, one of the best I've had. Unique rice and black beans. Really strong, fresh brewed tea. Great views, and fast, friendly service. Try it you'll like it. Caveat, if you're cheap, it might be a bit pricey for you.
Table side guac is so good!! All food was really good. The waitress was very attentive. There is someone constantly creating taco shells in the corner really showing you that everything's made there. Would definitely come back.
Good food and service.
They serve fresh avocado and guacamole dip if your intrested, it seems to be very popular.i didn't have it myself but was still very happy with our food and the service. Prices match most other restaurants in Penn Quarters.
I was craving for some Mexican delicacies and I happened to go here after checking the ratings. Unfortunately it's not the authentic mexican but you can definitely grab a bite. I felt it was a but pricey. The quantity is super small, please make sure you order enough. I felt a bit overly rated based on my experience. Servers are quick and easy. Food comes out fast and hot too. Overall location is good, taste is average considering Rosa the NAME.
I have attended several corporate events as well as personal dinners a number of times over the past few years. The food is authentic and delicious, and the staff is extremely friendly and attentive. The guacamole is made fresh, and AMAZING!! I would highly recommend visiting when in National Harbor!!
I was disappointed with the food at Rosa— I had only been for HH drinks and bites at the downtown DC location but the beef enchiladas tasted bad this time around for dinner at National Harbor. Flavorless meat and the mole sauce wasn’t right. I didn’t have faith that anything else would be much better so I didn’t bother to send it back. My margarita was basic and tasted equivalent to the Applebee’s $1 special. The restaurant was in need of a good cleaning. Floors tables and bathroom were dirty. All in all I think the standard is equivalent to the other options available at National Harbor so not much to be gained elsewhere. There’s nothing authentic about this restaurant but it’s not clean-your-plate Mexican-American food either. Prices are ridiculous. $15 cocktails and $24 for a plate of enchiladas. For the cost I should have just made a point to go to Jose Andres’ Oyamel downtown. Our server was sweet and did her best, and it wasn’t her fault the food was bad so I didn’t give her a hard time. I won’t be back.
Delicious food
The fresh made guacamole was divine! It was very busy when I arrived with my party, but it soon became very obvious why it was so popular. I'll definitely go back next time I'm in town.
Upscale Mexican joint that was pretty good. The food presentation was well done. The views of the harbor helped the atmosphere. The carnitas were good, but not the best I've ever had--they might have been the most expensive though. All in all, the food was good, but not exceptional. The price is more about the location and aesthetic.
Really nice environment and staff. Serving sizes are small considering it's an expensive place. Unfortunately our wait to receive our food was around 1 hour. Would have given 3 stars but the manager was super nice and gave us FREE dessert for the inconvenience. In conclusion, not a bad place to enjoy an evening with the family but might be a little to expensive for most people.
Nice lunch menu. Good location.
Great drinks and service. Only weird thing is the promotion of there guacamole. The bartender told me it was so fresh they didn't use lemon or lime... Isn't the citrus there for flavor too?
Decent Mexican place good for drinks and dining excellent views. Food is definitely overpriced but the area has many high-end restaurants this is a moderate option. Service was good views are excellent drinks are good as well.
These guys went out of their way to help me make an ignition key for a U-Haul. They were super nice and well prepared.
The food wasn't that good. It wasn't like real Mexican food, it was more like Mexican food turned into an American style dish. Also, there wasn't a variety of orders to choose from. Overall, it was ok
Excellent Mexican food. Some really good dishes here. Traditional Mexican with a twist. Tableside guacamole is amazing. Even though it was a busy night, staff managed to provide impeccable service. Love this place.
Busy little place @ 5pm! Cocktails and appetizers were outstanding!
Loved the food and the best guacamole ever. The food and service was great.
Decent happy hour in downtown/Chinatown. Bar staff were courteous, though table service was inconsistent for the number of patrons in the bar. Tried the yuca fries and table guac, both with great flavors. Choose from a selection of sangrias and margaritas for the HH specials.
Truly a high end Mexican dining experience. All aspects of this restaurant rate 5 stars. The food is authentic and amazing. There's a variety from different regions of Mexico that's labeled as such. The location is perfect, right in the …
Bland palate Mexican
Wonderful birthday experience. The fish tacos are delicious and the house made guacamole is unforgettable in a good way. Parking can be tricky in the evening but it’s worth it.
Highlights: They have Pacifico, which makes any meal feel like you're on vacation, and the guacamole is freshly made every time, not just in a vat in the back. However, the food is just standard Mexican fare, good but not extraordinary, and the prices are quite high relative to the experience.
Outstanding customer service and delightfully tasting food. Ask for the table side guacamole, Mr. Julio’s skills are top of the line, which means you’ll enjoy not only the taste of the dish, but also the way he prepares it!
Okay nothing great. Over priced cheap liquor margarita. If you want a happy hour hangover check it out. Also better tacos in other places. You pay for location not quality.
Wow! Very nice atmosphere and EXCELLENT food!
I ordered nachos, it was decent but could have been better spiced. The service was great however. I don’t think the food matches the high prices here and I will definitely choose somewhere else next time I eat in this area.
Our waitress made the experience worthwhile. That isn't to say the food wasn't good. All three of our brunch meals were delicious, but the brisket sandwich that was on the menu at the DC location a few years ago was one of the best sandwiches ever. I'm being serious so understand that the tres leches cake is underwhelming and the cornbread that comes with brunch was not worth the rangling to get the last pan in the restaurant. Why it was the last pan. No idea. In retrospect, I should have eatrlen more Tortilla chips. The salsa was excellent.
Great food, especially the guacamole.
Cute Mexican place with really good guac and burritos!
Alex was so attentive, best waiter ever! Tge tortillas were amazingly fresh!
Food was ok, staff was friendly but had a bit of a language barrier. But overall good experience
Very nice restuarant with a great view.
Great service, food and ambiance! Plan to go again soon.
Delicious. Great service. Yet expensive. You get what you pay for!
This place is always pretty great. I visit the DC location more but this location is definitely bigger and has nice outside seating with great views. Got the enchiladas and wasn’t a fan but the guacamole and queso were fantastic.
The chamorro is amazing!
Great place hv been n 3 years, still grear food & drinks
Was at the weekend with friends at this restaurant. I like Mexican cuisine and like to try something new. We took a table in advance because there would be no tables left on the weekend. The staff is pleasant, the waiters serve quickly enough and quickly bring an order. The cuisine is incredibly tasty and the bill was not too big. We had a great time.
Best Mexican restaurant I've been to!! Great service, drinks and food, I had two appetizers nachos and guacamole and both were amazing, margaritas were great too! For the main plate I had shrimp and was really good. Finally had churros for dessert. I highly recommend it!
This place is horrible! Not even close to mexican food. No fajitas....over price nasty enchiladas.
Went here not knowing much about the restaurant, and was very pleased!!!! Every single thing we had to eat was delicious - every bite. The atmosphere is so lovely as well as the servers. I'm not from New York but I would recommend this place to anyone going.
In my opinion still the best traditional Mexican food in NYC.
Small portions, big prices. I was out to eat with 6 other people and none of us could eat the food it was so spicy. Our server was amazing and we never had an empty drink so I'll give 5 stars for service.
Certainly a place worth stopping over, the food is good and fresh, the rates are convenient and it is always clean in here. Highly recommended.
Very tastey food. Great drinks too.
Little disappointed not what expected for Mexican food it’s over price food was tasteless. The worse was the stuffed pepper also known as Chile relleno.
Great tacos at an affordable price. It's nice inside but very packed. I came alone and had to wait about twenty minutes for a bar seat on a weeknight.
Very nice place surounded by a getto neigbourhooh
Great food and service, but like all DC restaurants, noisy.
Good tasting food.
I wish I could give this place a 0. We went to this place today, 5/24/19, in the afternoon. The two girls in the front are the worst hostesses. Their customer service is awful! Just funky attitudes. Just nasty. I wanted to leave, but it's my husband's birthday weekend and he wanted Mexican food and wanted to overlook their filthy behavior. The service was slow. We ended up just eating the guacamole and chips because the server took so long coming back to our table. By the time he came back, we'd finished the appetizer. So we just ate that and went some place else to eat. The outside patio stays filthy. The girl bringing the chips basically threw them on the table when she brought ours. It was just awful. Our first time, only time, and last time. HORRIBLE customer service and AWFUL service overall. This is just something to do. If you want great guacamole, definitely the place to go. Lucky if you don't get the fools in the front we got when we came.
Good food, good service will definitely eat here again!
Great food!! Enjoyed the skirt steak tacos and Mexican street corn, both were fantastic. Great views as well.
Great restaurant in National Harbor. Real nice location, very pleasant service and great tasting authentic Mexican fare. Nice touch that the regions of the various entrees are noted in the menu. Dining area was eclectic and had a nice atmosphere. Great place for evening date or casual lunch.
The guacamole they make fresh at the table is AMAZING. The service was good. It took a little long to get the main dish.
Good food at a great price. Would recommend!
First time at this location. Absolutely enjoyed everything. Even tried something new. Perfection!
Excellent food and service matched with great ambiance
Our server Jackie was awesome! My niece and I wanted to eat a nice lunch after a walk around the Harbor. We stopped at 1 place which totally ignored us with seating and service. We walked out and came across Rosa Mexicano. We were never disappointed from the time we entered until the time we left (service and food). I would definitely visit again and will surely ask for Jackie. She was great!
Good location for a game or a show. Weird service for restaurant week: bringing the appetizers along with main courses... lots of food! Plantain rice was delicious, black beans too, chicken skewers very good. Dessert was disappointing and so was service.
Fresh, delicious, friendly, clean, and bright. Great place for a business lunch. This is not fast food, nor should it be. Don't go for a hurried meal, the food is worth the wait.
Guacamole was great. But my $28 steak plate was a joke. Small, rubbery steak that was tough to chew and even cut with the knife. Wouldn't have even spent $15 on that. Will not return.
Food is really fresh, I love their guacamole they make right in front of you. The service is good. The balcony seating is nice for An intimate romantic date night.
I love the food and cocktails and they have the best guacamole.
The food is always delicious and I have never had a complaint about the employees. I come here often. Having a dog in the city, it can be difficult to find places to go. However, Rosa's has an outdoor area. Usually people can bring dogs to the outdoor section with no problem. However, last time I went, I verified ahead of time if dogs were allowed and everyone was very friendly and helpful. We were seated and the employees brought water for our dog without a problem. Not long after being seated, the manager came over questioning if we had "service dog papers". When we stated that he was an emotional support animal, he still treated us with disrespect and said if other people came (at this point no one else was outside and the dog was laying still), that the dogs would have to leave. We ended up having to move and received no apology or compensation after over a $200 bill. For the incompetence of this manager, I have rated two stars. However, the food and staff have always been great.
First time visit, loved it. Food quality were amazing, and of course the fresh guacamole was on another level. Service was really good, but they were little slow in terms of getting back the food, napkins, or a check at a later point. Kinda like the waiter forgets sometimes. Not a big deal. Overall excellent food and service. I will absolutely visit this place again.
Relaxed atmosphere with a classy interior. Lovely bar area if you want to sit and have a drink. Great service. Very attentive staff. The food was excellent! Guacamole is super tasty and you get lots of it. Enchiladas were very nice. Full of tender meat and lovely a sauce. Comes with rice and beans. Highly recommended.
Delicious food with clearly marked gluten free items. Service and atmosphere were top notch. Will certainly be coming back!
Dropped by on a Tuesday afternoon, it was hot and humid. The view was great at the outdoor bar but sun was beaming in me. Come at high noon or after sundown and avoid high humidity days (I know obvious) if you want to sit outside. The bar area is dope as hell. It is definitely a great place to be at year round (I only passed through there I didn't sit there). The food was delicious. I had the Budín de Pollo. Oh the poblano cream sauce is bomb as hell. Do it. Got all that chicken stuffed in them tortillas, it was legit to die for. Mango margarita was good, not great. But I had two so what do I know. Go there, ask for Orlando. He's great.
Decent food and nice ambience. Good place for guacamole and wine. Most of the drinks are premixed and can sneak up on you if you have a low threshold for getting drunk. They taste great!!!
Always great service and quality food.
Food isnt authentic & is expensive.
Amazing service, however, the food was not that great. The ceviche lacked flavor, the salsa had absolutely no kick, the chips were too salty, and the lemonade was mediocre at best. However, the enchiladas were pretty good and very filling. I recommend this place if there was no where else to go, but I must say that the service was amazing. Management and all employees were very attentive and helpful.
Delicious guac & their Margaritas are as well...nice & strong!
Enchaladas were just fair, but the tacos looked great.
Rosa is a nice aesthetics pleasing little restaurant. The food was okay & the service decent. Parking is difficult but their bathroom is clean & modern. I'd recommend coming before the lunch rush.
Great Service, great food!
The food was OK, but nothing remarkable. Slightly bland actually for a Mexican place. They don't seem to handle large groups well: a bit slow bringing out food and checks. Lunch with 15 coworkers took almost an hour for food to come out. Just OK, but would not go back.
I love the atmosphere of this hidden gem. The food is not only delicious but the presentation is exquisite. They have great lunch special with extremely generous portions. The waitstaff is accommodating. I ordered a new drink and found it was quite to my liking. They made me another of my choice at no extra charge. My favorite restaurant for business lunches, friend hangouts, or a fun afternoon with the kids.
Good friends cloud your opinions, but I enjoyed my time there .
My favorite Manhattan Mexican place. The guacamole made at the table is delicious, fresh (of course) and large. The drinks are tasty and fresh. I like the Chamorro - the pork shank with heaps of different kinds of marinated and spiced cabbage.
Excellent food and super prompt service.
Awesome taste. And very courteous staff.
Sorry I have no pics. But the service and people is great. Very nice decor and environment. The food portion is disappointing. I got the steak Quesadilla; it was small and a bit salty. Also not much cheese and NO guacamole not much of anything to be honest. Overall the taste was alright
The food was good and their was endless refills of chips and salsa, which is always a plus but I thought the food was extremely overpriced and some of the dishes were portioned small. Beans and rice were not provided per plate but a small bowl was provided for the table. The atmosphere was nice but was quite loud, you had to almost yell to talk to the people at your table.
This placed used to be really good. Great food great service and great atmosphere. Now this place is junk and the food is horrible and overpriced. I made a reservation for my mom and my wife to have an early mothers day celebration but it was a big mistake probably chipotle would have been a better place to take them than this place. The server that we had was horrible he didn't refill our drinks he got annoyed just because we didn't want to drink just water and we asked for different drinks. I never got my drink and for two kids lemonade I got charged $9.00 which is ridiculous specially when your server doesn't even bother to check if you need a refill. The table side guacamole is horrible at this place is full with cilantro and it tasted just like the guacamole that you will find at the grocery store that's already made. Over all it was the worst experience and I will never return to this place there are way better Mexican restaurants then this place like Guapos or Uncle Julius.
The service was great the food not so great. I had the beef enchiladas and the beef was tough. Nothing memorable or special about this place I don't think i will be going back.
I loved the architecture . The sitting area is so good . Great services , food.
The food was good, and the mango margarita was delicious.. but the price was high and the service awful, not worth it.
Nice upscale Mexican restaurant. I like it better than even Dos Camino which is great. If I could I would give this 4.5 stars
Pricey but in a great location. Food was okay. Wait staff was very nice.
Love matador! It has such a cool atmosphere, really good tacos, and nice waitstaff. It's close to union square, but isn't overrun with tourists. Would definitely return.
This Rosa has quite a lot of seating though at times it may feel a little congested. The staff are really nice and the food is served quite quickly. The chips and salsa are fresh and delicious. I liked the enchiladas though I felt that there could be a bit more sauce. I loved the churros.
Absolutely delicious.
Loved this place! Staff was very attentive and the food was beyond delicious!! Went here for my birthday with my family and they treated us very well, even sang to me and let me wear one of their mariachi hats!
Delicious Mexican food right off gallery place. Their homemade guacamole is worth ordering. They generally have plenty of seating even when others have over an hour wait because it's a fairly big restaurant. One of each kind of taco can't be ordered--orders must be three of a kind.
Beautiful restaurant with nice atmosphere, but the food was incredibly bland.
The food is fine. But it's definitely overpriced. Also the thing they claim is an alambre, is most definitely not an alambre. For the record an alambre would be a plate generally served with steak cut for tacos, with some peppers, onions and cheese with some tortillas on the side to basically make your own tacos.
Good spot for good food!
Great drinks!! Mango Margarita is dangerous! Good service and good atmosphere. A bar that specializes in tequila, how could anything go wrong, lol...
wonderful fresh food & drinks... sat at bar, the service was fast and excellent.. will be returning tonight for the spicy margarita and coconut mojito
very good food and staff are very friendly
Good guacamole and quesadillas.
Food was excellent, the guacamole was very fresh and made at the table.
I enjoy meeting bartenders who know how to make a not-sweet delicious margarita. Pork sliders on the happy hour menu are delicious! Mocajete guac is also a must.
Great food and Service!
Service was great, good atmosphere for eating and conversation. For a Mexican place it was lacking in heat for the sauce, even though we asked for hotter sauce.
Amazing place.
Love pomegranate margaritas and guacamole. Nachos are surprising spicy. They also have great kids meals. I got pork shoulder, which was delicious.
Delicious food! Excellent service! Best frozen margaritas!!!
I wanted to love this place so badly because my office really likes it for happy hour. I thought the drinks and food were quite good at the time I was drinking them (the margaritas are insanely sweet, just FYI!). Unfortunately, I got food poisoning from this place which had me throwing up all night. For that reason, I can't and won't go back.
Ambiance was authentic as to decor and loud clientele at the bar, which they have both up and down stairs. Sangria was very good as was the flan. Their entrés had a signature touch different than the run-of-the-mill Mexican restaurant. Wait staff was very attentive. Even on a weeknight, it's not a place for a quiet, intimate dinner but other than that, besides a higher end tab, it's a good restaurant.
Excellent food. Great service. Great for lunch or dinner.
Great tableside guacamole. Large selection of tequilas. Main course are not consistent but overall pretty good
First time eating there the food was great
Love Rosa! This location has an intimate vibe. Bartender was great!
Classic Mexican style food, great ambience and wonderful waiters and waitresses. Must visit while in the area.
It is an amazing place. The food is delicious!
Good food and good service. The prices were reasonable considering its location and upscale atmosphere. The homemade salsa was excellent. The traditional Mexican fair was made with a unique twist that made you realize you were not eating at a standard franchise Mexican restaurant.
Server was great! Food and drink are always fresh abd delicious.
We loved it. Beautiful. Delicious. Great Service. We plan to go back.
Great happy hour! Love the decoration and atmosphere. The chicken enchiladas are great and the pork belly nachos are delish!
Always fantastic! Great food, great atmosphere and great service.
Authentic Mexican food and awesome hand-made guacamole!!!
Food was really good. Not a fan of Mexican beer but I managed. Great location.
I was really excited about the bottomless cocktails but didn’t realize it ended at 3 which is when I arrived. Ive heard great things so I will be back again
Overpriced, not traditional mexican food like they say, tacos are a joke .... who ever serves tacos with cabbage....and corn on the side smh
Nice decor. Great location. Excellent fresh food
This restaurant has always been my favorite in NY city so I suggested to my family to try it in DC. I have to say it was a very disappointing experience. Our guacamole had zero lime, very disappointing. Very poorly made and a busboy dumped it on the table. Our steaks was suppose to be medium well but it was uncooked. I made a point of telling the waiter 3 times to make sure my filet mignon was medium well but it was almost raw. The rest of the table was not happy with their orders either. Of course the manager came and they gave us free desert. The deserts were not good either. They ruined our night, we were all hungry when we left. This restaurant needs to understand it doesn’t matter if they offer free desert. The damage is done. I don’t know who messed up the the order, the waiter or the chef? None of us will ever go back nor would I suggest to anyone to go to Rosa Mexicano.
Honestly the food was okay, it was very crowded and they had the air conditioner blasting and we were very cold the entire time. We were 15 mins early before our reservation, they won’t take us in and they said to come back again. Talking about food.. chips and guacamole was great but the meals and the drinks were just okay and very overly priced. I have tasted much better Mexican food and payed much less price and enjoyed more. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant because there are other great mexican restaurants out in the city!!!!
Its a great place to go, service and food was good.
I ate within the Pomegranate Room. The appetizers were crispy empanadas and scrumptious flautas de pollo. The chicken tinga was tender and juicy. Guacamole was handmade and generous. Shrimp tacos were breaded but good. Chile poblano relleno has goat cheese and rice stuffed into chile peppers. Soft, warm, delicious!
We had a very nice experience here. Food can be a bit spicy but it’s Mexican food so you should have some heat. Very good tea and dessert as well. Lots of gluten free options as well.
Made a 6:15 reservation. I got there and it was packed with Capitals fans for the 7pm game across the street. I checked in and was told that they were "getting your table ready." 15 minutes later, I checked again and they were "bussing your table." 20 minutes later, at 6:50, when the place had largely begun to clear out, they could seat us. Clearly they did not have a table for the reservation. Which begs the question: Why make a reservation? Why take reservations at all? The host/hostess were clearly dishonest about the process, just trying to get us to wait, along with the other people who had not made reservations. Once we were seated, the server was attentive and kind. The food was alright. Nothing was that great. The carnitas was way, way, way too dried out. The guac was average. The food was certainly not good enough to warrant the price, or the dishonesty when being seated. Nothing was bad. But nothing was that great or interesting. We were not comped for anything, even a round of our drinks, despite fact the restaurant had not honored our reservation. The atmosphere inside was fine but uninteresting. I would strongly recommend Oyamel down the street over Rosa Mexicano if you are in need of Mexican food in that area of the city.
Over priced, servers were not kind. Went there on a Saturday evening. My server (a lady) looked tired, were not smiling at all. Waiting for my cutlery for a while. I was the only one who did not have it on my table. Ordered filet mignon, and received a rib. Asked the not-smiling-server if that was filet or rib, and she murmured. She knew that she put a wrong order. No apologies until we left the restaurant, btw. Just took the rib dish out and walked away. Waited another 15-20 minutes to receive filet mignon. Guacamole - Bowl was huge, but had pretty small amount of it. filet mignon - 2 small tiny meat, looked like round dog jerkies at Petsmart. Quesadillas - pretty different from other typical places, but still did not like it. Skirt steak - asked for the medium and came with burnt, dry; long version of dog jerky And there was another lady server around the table. She kept asking to remove dishes that we were still working. And eventually, she took my plate that was in front of me. And she did not understand English... I still can't believe that it all happened at the same location, on the same day. Maybe I was in a bad luck on that day. But you know, I won't go back again. Please spend your money somewhere else or donate to a charity.
Service was good, but the plates were surprisingly small. Still good however.
We discovered the restaurant earlier this week. We like the food so much we came back for again this weekend. However, the service was abysmal! We were told we could not order the very dishes we had a couple of days before. When we complained to management, they replaced our waiter, but someone out spite cancelled our order. Left hungry and disappointed. Save yourself the trouble and dine elsewhere.
Food and drinks were phenomenal. Guacamole is put of this world....fun vibe and great service!
Great food, delicious Margaritas, and a friendly and professional staff make this a great destination in the Gallery Place/Chinatown neighborhood in DC. Across from the Cap One Center. Very convenient before Wizards or Caps games.
Nice atmosphere and food was okay.
The quesadilla’s were good but the salsa for the nachos was nasty. This place is expensive for nothing. The price of the food doesn’t compare to the amount of food received. The frozen margarita was great.. I would recommend the drinks
Great place for Mexican. Saw a few families in the dining area so they must be doing something right. Enjoyed table side guacamole. The bar area looked attractive, albeit a little crowded.
Great food, also has a great view of the harbor. Don't be afraid to ask the server how to pronounce your meal.
Food it’s ok but couldn’t be better only because the bartender it’s incredibly i think I keep going
Different selection of items, very good
We had the fresh guacamole made tableside and it was delicious! Recommend having a reservation. Waitstaff is courteous and attentive. Everyone LOVED their meal.
Great food, best guac and good service
16$ for guacamole that was an 7/10 at best. 24$ for rice and five pieces of small shrimp with almost inedibly hot peppers. Would not recommend for the price and quality.
Great food, snoody waitress
The servers rarely come by. Food portions are not equal to the price. Go to a cheaper place down the street that offers way more portions. Drinks were very weak and over priced.
True refined Mexican food. Serves regional specialties, is elegant, food is excellent.
Food was really great, staff attentive and friendly. I'd go back anytime.
Location here cannot be beat. Views are terrific and the area is bustling with people having fun. The food is amazing and authentic. I am taking away a star because the sangria on this visit was beyond weak. Next time I will just order wine since you know what you're getting.
Food is really fresh, I love their guacamole they make right in front of you. The service is good. The balcony seating is nice for An intimate romantic date night.
The best table side guacamole!
Great Experience. Love the guacamole made fresh in front of you. All the ingredients for all of the dishes are fresh and authentic. I’ve been coming here for years and will definitely return
So delicious! Delightful servers!
Had a great business meal here today, ordering the fresh table side guacamole and chicken nachos, which are way better than normal nachos! I had the shrimp dish, which was light, but definitely hit the spot. The marg was also tasty, not too sweet. You should check this spot if you like great Mexican!
Warm, service was a little slow. Food was great.
The food was actually really good. The wait was horrible. I think they forgot about us as we didn't get a table until I asked about it. The party next to us was waiting for about 2 hours. When we did get seated, there were empty tables. Plus we saw people after us leaving as they already had been seated and finished eating. I did enjoy the food.
Service was friendly. Food was delicious especially the freshly made guacamole! Nice outdoor seating too
On the main strip a block away from Grace's Mandarin Restaurant and the Gaylord National Harbor is this popular favorite. There is no parking so look for garage options. Depending on when you arrive, lines are possible so be patient it is worth the wait. There is a waiting area or some prefer waiting at the bar. Seating options vary from cozy booths, main dining areas or scenic outdoor patio options. The atmosphere is colorful, bright and festive. Service is great, the staff is friendly and helpful. Frozen margaritas can be strong so get prepared. The food is tasty, the guacamole is made to order and a popular favorite. Outdoor patio views are incredible day or night with views of the stadium wide screen monitor that is used to project live concerts, sporting events, movies, etc. Plus a great place to mengle and people watch. Also a great place to watch fireworks from the stadium games on win nights or nearby. All in a great experience for small groups, families and meetings.
I absolutely love this place! Its a little pricey but worth it in my opinion. The food is fresh, full of flavor and the service is great. You get chips and dip as a starter and we usually order a side of guacamole. My boyfriend loves all of their steak meals and I enjoy the jumbo shrimp over a bed of rice in a green colored sauce (cant remember the name) and they also provide a tiny bowl of rice and beans for the table so if you are a party larger than 2 I'd ask for another one. Highly recommend thia place!
Wish I didn't have to give such a bad review to my fav Mexican restaurant in NYC. I am so very disappointed. I love the guacamole at Rosa Mexicano. This was by far the worst I've ever had. First off, I wasnt asked if I wanted mild or medium spices. Second, there was no table side guac service. This didn't even feel like Rosa Mexicano :'( The waiter should have gotten the point when I specifically got up from the table to grab a salt mill. I had to spice up the guacamole myself. Yeah, I need my spices to be on point. Then, the ceviche the Camrones was horrible too, so bland. It needed more citrus and salt. Don't even get me started on the corn. Ughhhhhhh!!! First and last time to Rosa Mexicano on Murray street #failed I'm gonna stick to Rosa Mexicano Union square and my new fav at Lincoln Center. ❤
The service was the best I've had during a week in National Harbor. The first of was among the best.
It has small fares so don't think you are coming for a huge meal, tasty, enough to fill you and yet not overfill you. The tables are sticky need a coat of lacquer. Nice views and close to everything.
Very limited vegan options but it was quite tasty. One of the hostesses was a little unprofessional by asking why I was even there (but trying to be cute/funny) when I was checking for options prior to being sat. The waitress was attentive and made sure to alert the kitchen of my food allergies. Good salsa and plantains.
Excellent food with quick and efficient service!
Great food but be prepared to wait even with a reservation. No worries, we enjoyed happy hour at the bar and they comped us a round of guacamole because of our half hour wait.
We found the guacamole at $15.50 to be over priced for the possibly 2 avocados they served...plus the attempts to misunderstand the order and provide 3 flavors when we ordered 2 then provide double quantity of the two was really frustrating. The main course quesadilla with shrimps had tiny shrimps and if there was 7 shrimps in it it was a lot with a third of the quesadilla having no filling at all. Most disappointed
The food here is ok, but the nightlife is legendary.
Excellent, delicious, convenient to dine at before the Capital One Performances. Super nice staff and manager who assured us of their homemade ingredients when we needed to verify food allergies. Large portions you can share, fun drinks, great atmosphere. We are repeat customers. Plenty of street and garage parking near by (PMI garage 9th and E). Thank you.
This place has incredible tacos, food, margaritas and fast and friendly service!! I recommend anyone passing by, to give it a whirl!!
Disappointed in the service, the wait staff impersonal and the food is not authentic Mexican. We felt rushed and the kids portions are way to small for the prices.
Great food and service. Fantastic experience with my family.
Overall a nice place to go. A bit of a tourist trap, but a great family friendly restaurant. Overall pretty pricey for the quality of the food, but the atmosphere is fun and vibrant. The waitstaff was very friendly and knowledgeable on the menu, but overall there are better restaurants out there for the money you will spend here.
