Stopped in for a quick bourbon and beer. Bar was very BIG and great service. Will revisit next time I am in town.

Ray Boyington

Fantastic restaurant and pub that's worth the price uptick. Atmosphere is great. You can pick to stay on the ground floor, which is a darker pub setting, or go upstairs for a view of the bay in a much-more lit area. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Menu has a bit of variety. I ended up getting the maple duck burger, which was fantastic. Even the salad, which I expected to be wimpy, was textured and full. The seafood chowder is worth it as well... very flavorful! Full menu of whiskies separated by region and by type. That screams out a place that knows what it's serving, which also means it will have a variety that should please most people. The prices are up there, but you also get a generous pour (about two drams-worth). I also saw something online that looked like a menu for dogs... which I thought was pretty cool. Worth a stop!

Aaron Orchard

Stopped in for a quick burger and a beer before heading back to Boston. Great selection of local beer on the menu, and good brunch selection. If you can try to sit outside on the front patio, or inside upstairs for a good view of the harbor.

Molly Anderson

Nice staff bad food

Andrew Miller

Dont really remember this place but I guess that means I had a great time.

Mark D

Authentic Irish pub. Okay, that's a wee bit of a stretch. But how many people can say they got engaged at a Ri Ra? I can. Not this one, but it still warms the cockles of my heart. Or something. Wings are good, beer is good, atmosphere is good, that's about all you can ask for in a faux Irish Pub.

Richard Dixon

Great outside ocean atmosphere. Good breakfast at great price. Coffee price of $3.50 way too high though.

Thomas Van Howe

Awesome Irish bar with friendly staff and great views from the bar on the second floor.

Staci foster

Such awesome food. Werid server.

Andrew Decker

Beer selection is pretty good. I have not had any food from here yet.

Luis Maldonado

Amazing drink and friendly people

Justin Taylor

Great food and very relaxing atmosphere. Only complaint is we had a party of 11 and the waitress said she "could not separate the check" and we had to try and figure it out by meal and tax. Stressful way to end a great meal out.

sloan laurits

I was looking for a place to watch the Brazil vs Belgium World Cup quarterfinal match while I was visiting Portland. I was told to go to Rí Rá. I’m so glad I took the advice. Proper Irish Pub. Magners & Guinness on draft. Food looked up to par with a typical Irish Pub. The big screen and the match audio on was the best part!

Bryanna Requarth

The food is excellent however the security staff is very rude and disrespectful. We were there on a saturday night sitting near where the band performs. The security staff kept coming over and asking if we were done when we had just received our meals. They then picked up all the drinks and took them away, while we were still drinking them. When the guy was questioned he blamed the waitress. She had absolutely nothing to do with his behavior. When we finished our meal, the security team was pushing us out of the way to get the table moved for the band. If it was so important for the band to start, they should not have let us make our reservation or sat us where they did.

A. Suzanne Flynn

Staff was very friendly and prompt. The I terior was cozy and the food was good

Holly Strout

On point as always! Love Evan!

Vanessa Pandolfo

I was married at RiRa this past September and had the most wonderful experience!! We had 117 guests and had an amazing night. Everyone raved about the food and the atmosphere was cozy, romantic and fun!

Derrick Gittleman

Seafood chowder was great. Nice beer selection.

Adam Miller

Great Music and award winning seafood chowder. It was an amazing evening.

Joe H

Portland is a lively and vibrant food city but I can trust RiRa's constant top quality food and preparation and also a decent selection of quality brews to match your taste. RiRa sits right on the Portland waterfront with second floor views of Casco Bay. If you want a cozy restaurant that won't let you down for lunch and dinner this is a great choice.

flemmie tyson-jones

Soooooo amazing, delicious, and friendly people.

Troy C

We went on Christmas day and was very thankful they were open. Don't let the pub in the name fool you as the food is not secondary here. We ate upstairs which was very warm and welcoming. We were seated overlooking the water. I had the chowder which was great. I also got the fried hadock and it was a very large portion. Everything was fresh and hot. The service was great even for a Christmas day. The price was reasonable for the location and portion size. We would eat here again.

Robert Qua

Decent spot. Good food. Upstairs is nice for a bite.

Patrick Kimball

Very good. Very busy on Saturday nights.

Adam Brown

Acceptably Irish, nice view of the harbor, seems to carry many private parties, good nitrogen Guinness draft too!

Kris Loschen

Great food and service beautiful view!

Valerie Allis

Extremely large bar on 1sr floor. It's very dark atmosphere with all the wood. But very fun for a group of friends to hang out or watch a game. Its Upstairs is bright, airy and well decorated with a great water view. 1st time I had good service. Last visit, 1 day ago, I was with a large group and the waiter was terrible; never smiled, bad service and didnt seem to want to be there. I have had a burger and fish & chips both of which were good. Everyone in the group seemed to enjoy the food.

Michael Evans

CURRENTLY CLOSED. Sign said it would open next week (Early August 2019?)

Aaliya Thorpe

Great place. Family friendly. We were visiting from NY and the staff was sweet and professional. We happened to have breakfast very good, then the adults returned for beer at the bar. Nice place.

Christopher J

Good beer and service. Just as you would expect from a neighborhood waterhole. Good, diverse crowd. Bartender put up with me, what more can you ask for...

Ami J

Went here for lunch with coworkers. Nice view. Decent food. I had the crab dip and the pub burger. The floor was sticky though.. not sure if that is normal? This was my first time here

Michael Haslow

Made reservations for a Friday evening arrived early but took us to our table even though people where waiting. Had a great waitress Eden M the food was awesome! Our group had the meatloaf, shepherds pie, black and blue salad all of our selections were top notch. The portion size would satisfy a big appetite! We liked it so much we made reservations for the next Sunday with the hostess. We once again had great food this time it was the fish and chips which was a seriously huge plate of fish, the Irish stew which was fabulous and again a good sized portion. The only down side was our waiter Kaely L, totally not with it at all! I ordered a Lawyer Up beer and she said they didn't carry that, so I had to show it to her on the tap menu. Then we ordered an appetizer and asked for it to come out before our food she brought it with the food :-( she was only serving a couple of tables besides ours not sure what her problem was but we will definitely request not to have her when we make our reservations the next time.

zach stewart

Always good food and an awesome view of the ferry's coming an going from upstairs!

Paul d Anglejan

I find a hair in my plate...

Erin Slonaker

The food here was mediocre/bad (definitely got shell in my crab and corn soup), the service is dimissive and rude. And it's just so loud.

Theresa Ratliff

Absolutely loved it. Amazing atmosphere

Tim Ermlich

Irish pub...nuf said...but seriously, a staple of the Old Port. Snug part was dismantled in Ireland & reconstructed in Portland. Pub food & more sophisticated menu in upstairs dining. Pour a great Guinness, show plenty of sport from around the world and have live music.

David Thomas

Super generic. Go across town to bull feenys

Robert S

STAY AWAY, it is NOT WORTH THE TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Very poor customer service. We ordered beers and were out on the tables out front and was told by waitresses to move out of the way, tehy had customers that needed to sit for food. Meanwhile there were 4 open other table and we were paying customers as well, guess our money wasn't as good as theirs. Also, inside atmosphere was terrible getting the beer, very rude bar tenders. STAY AWAY!!!! You've been warned!!!!!!

Simp Tech

Great authentic Irish atmosphere and offerings. Great music, soccer's on and the staff are professional and a bit feisty like a good Irish bartender should be!

connie gonzalez

They have good food GREAT sevice

Den Correia

Great food very relaxing place upstairs probably the best seafood chowder I've ever had

gary scott

Went on Saturday to see a champions league final which they advertised As per usual like the World Cup last year - bar at maximum capacity ? 300 in there 2 bars and 2 bar tenders Impossible to get a drink Why they don’t have extra staff behind bar for big events is beyond me Will look for new bar to watch soccer games

Matthew Fournier

It's basic food and you don't get much. Service was below average.

Josh Bennett

Really cool spot for drinks I really like the upstairs bar ! Haven't tried the food.

Eugene Dietrich

Great pint of Guinness. The upstairs dining room and lounge are a nice change of pace from the traditional pub. Nice fireplace and view.

Rebecca Ayers

Love this place!

Tim Bethlehem

Was in Portland visiting a friend,we stopped in for dinner, top notch, Scotch eggs are a work of art and incredibly delicious, fish and chips? Spot on! Great selection of local beers, staff friendly and on point,if you get to Portland, stop by here, you'll be glad you did!

Karleen Ernst

I visited this location twice, both times were very busy, and a little hard to get service. I tried some of the munchie options they had such as the chicken bites, potato salad and tacos, the food was good, as well as the drinks. The food and drinks were a little pricey but thoroughly enjoyed the live band that was performing in the bar/lounge area. All in all it was a decent experience and will most likely return on my next adventure to Portland.

Eric Hollingsworth

They were out of fish and chips as well as the bangers and mash. While I understand this was out of anyone’s control, I wish they would have told us before we placed our order. Moreover. both the server and Jeff, the GM were very apathetic. Not cool.

Bill Wheeler

Kept it simple as we were walking on the nearby trail and had a dog with us. Had some seafood chowder and crab cakes, very yummy. The host with the most and waitress were awesome. Wicked friendly and very attentive.

Soleil DeVane

This Irish pub has a beautifully ambient indoor seating area overlooking the bay. The waitress we had was very polite and did not mind fixing our orders (salmon was burnt), or giving us information about local restaurants (Portland lobster co) and scenery. Their Irish tea was good as well! We ordered the fish and chips (delicious and fresh), salmon (with nut salad), lobster roll (also delicious and plump), wings, garlic mashed potatoes, and onions rings. All of it was very good!

Paul Bennett

The staff is always friendly. This is a great place to meet friends for an adult beverage. The food is consistently good.

Stephen Mooney

Very good food met friends and shipmates.

Adam Doucette

Great good good atmosphere

Will Cruickshank

This is a great spot to watch big football (soccer) matches in Portland. They show the matches with the sound on and there's a few good craft taps. I visited here from out of town and both the bar staff and the regulars were super friendly

Yvette Dilallo

I love the decore; choice of of Brews. Fast Friendly service n good comforting food n atmosphere.

Cheryl Ortega

My daughter brought me here. Great food. Great staff. Now one of her favorite places is also one of mine. Bonus: parking garage only a block away.

Michael Hight

Good food, great server, good conversation

Rebecca Warnock

Lovely water views, stopped here for lunch on reccomendation. Ordered the pub burger and hand cut fries , after being advised they had run out of quite a few menu items. Was cooked well and tasted great. Staff were very attentive and friendly

Jenn La

Upstairs is beautiful, never had a bad meal there.

Bonnie Seavey

My 6 year old grandson loves this restaurant. I love it as well. It runs in th family.

Aaron Howard

Awesome food, great views, great brews, love it!

Michael Goebel

Nice pub. Fast staff and good beer from the tap

Benjamin Crocker

Breakfast, Lunch, dinner....it's all been amazing. The downstairs has an old tavern feel to it, and the upstairs is brighter and overlooking the water. They offer traditional Irish food with some American additions to the menu. RiRa's is definitely on my list of favorite places in Portland.

Charles Clark Jr

The food and drinks at this establishment are wonderful! The service was top notch. Will return here in the future.

Arjun Pramanik

Good food, even better view.

Seve Deery-Deraps

The waiter was extremely rude and not welcoming. We felt like a burden for ordering a meal and seem like he did not want to be here.

Jack

We have been going to Ri Ra in Portland, ME on and off for many years now. Unless you live or work on the ocean, you will find the view almost worth the trip. Having been there, this summer, both on the weekend and earlier in the week, I have observations that may tweak the timing of your visit. Obviously, the weekends are busy. Busy means: noise, more crowded, more social interacting, perhaps not as good service, and of course a livelier atmosphere , and music downstairs, if you are into the party scene. However, if you want to enjoy a window seat, or at least a good view of the ocean, go earlier in the week. All bets are off if a large cruise ship should happen to be in port, as the docking berth is just up the road a piece. As we are beyond the 30 to 40 'something' scene, we prefer the latter. With a view of the ocean you will see a constant stream of ocean traffic, especially in the summer, with the constant arrivals and departures of the Casco Bay Ferry Boats, ocean taxis, ocean tow services, private boats, etc. Likewise, if you like people watching, the second floor offers views as well of the piers and the outdoor deck of the pizza parlor, below. When it is not crowded, it is a great place to relax, have a cocktail or beer, and enjoy a delicious plate of wings. The latter are on the smaller side but you get 15 or so, and they are very tasty. The menu, like those at most restaurants, has changed over the years. I really miss the hanger steak of yore. We stopped going for a while years ago when they dropped the dinner menu and just had the same 'pub' menu for lunch and supper, but now they have the expanded dinner menu back. I looked online beforehand at the menu and noted that they had a Rib Eye, that was more than twice the price of an even larger steak at a national chain, without the extra side, buttered rolls, and all the peanuts you can eat. Although we can afford it, my practical genes kicked in and decided it cannot be twice as good, so I went with the Fish and Chips (fried battered haddock and french fries), which I had had there a couple of months ago. As I said the menu changed. A few months ago, it was presented as is most commonly served in Maine, as chunks of fried fish, scattered about on a bed of fries. Last time, it was a 5 star meat; this time, I would give it a 2. As you can see from the picture, it appears as a single piece and is shaped in that of a crescent shaped moon. If you are into oodles of crispy and delicious batter, and your cardiologist doesn't object, this is for you. However, I discovered, this time, that I will wait for a menu change to order it again. Without the benefit of a large serrated bread knife, I found the hard shell difficult to penetrate. In the end, I picked it up in both hands and snapped it in half as you would when eating a lobster, or breaking a stick to put in the wood stove. I then scooped the small amounts of haddock out of the hard breaded shell. I am not sure what they were going for, here, the unusual look or a way to make a small amount of haddock look big, but both worked. We had a few neighboring tables inquire as to what it was, and, as noted, the fish portion ended up being much smaller than it recently was. With similar feedback as this, I am confident that they will go back to what worked. Overall, a pleasant visit early in the week and a 'happening' on the weekends, and always, good, cold Irish beer.

Scott Walter

Great pub an location with views. 3 different seating areas each with a different vibe. Reasonably priced.

The American Dream with Miss Bubba

Good friendly service, helpful as needed warm water for baby bottle

Jordan T Peters

Best place to watch soccer in Portland. Finally a bar that prefers to show the US national soccer teams over the red sox. Very friendly service, nice selection of local beers and surprisingly great cocktails. The food is good, nothing amazing, maybe a little pricey. I take that back, the duck poutine is amazing but everything else I've had hasn't wowed me. Great vibe, kitchen is open late, love you Ri Ra <3

R. Bruno de Sousa

Great selection of beers and good service.

Glenn Clark

Great service good food

gabriel reynoso

Good place Two floors different style 1st floor is the irish pub. Great style 2nd floor bright restaurant great view good ambience. This picture is from my fish and chips (huge!!!) Super good! 9:00pm live band.

Anthony Gesamondo

A great place for good food and nice views of the harbor. We sat on the second floor, near the fireplace, overlooking the harbor. It is probably a very fun view of the harbor in the summer. We both ordered the seafood chowder to start and were very pleased, it tasted great and was full of seafood and potatoes. My fiance had the fried clams, which were not greasy and had a great consistency, they pretty much melted in your mouth. I had the swordfish with succotash. The swordfish was cooked very nicely, and although it was a little fatty, I still are all of it because it was very yummy. The succotash was also great. However there was a disappointing beer selection for an Irish pub themed restaurant. I would definitely eat here again.

LESLIE CRAINE

YOU WILL FIND AN FRIENDLY AND ABLE STAFF TO HELP YOU ENJOY WITH SPENDING YOUR LOOT. YOU WILL ALSO FIND THE COST FOR SERVICE AND GOODS IS BOTH FAIR AND REASONABLE. IT IS A NICE PLACE TO MEET FRIENDS IN AN WARM AND COMFORTABLE ATMOSPHERE.

Paul Lalancette

Always a great meal with a good beer selectio

Darren Davis

Great live music.

Alexander Kontoleon

A solid Irish pub in Portland with three different bar areas, lively and fun, good music, but so over bearing that you cant have a conversation. The upstairs is more set up for dining but does feature a bar area. If you're looking for a relaxed bar vibe, featuring some solid upscale-ish eats, this is the spot.

Robert Muldoon

The kitchen is normally open until midnight in the summertime but on this night it was closed when I came in at 10:30 because they ran out of food.

Dylan Brenner

Amazing food, wonderful atmosphere, friendly staff, and a perfectly poured Guinness! A lovely Irish and nautical pub. It's my favorite place in town!

Ceil T

Pre-wedding celebration in private upstairs rooms. Very comfortable settings for both adults and children. Food spread included fresh fruits, Reuben sliders, crab balls, Bailey's Chocolate Mousse.

Scott Goodwin

Had dinner and a few beers there after work one night with a coworker. We happened to be in when Trivia was going on and had a blast!! It didn't feel like we were forced to do it, like other places and the guy running it was great. We will definitely be back.

J

Never disappointed when I visit Ri-Ra's However, I have to admit, I spend little time in the actual bar portion of the restaurant, but from I gather, it is just as well run as their second floor. View is one of the best in the city, and the staff and venue are quite nice. Terrific place to go on a weekday for dinner, and impressive when hosting clients for dinner on weekends. Food is not to lose a life over, but for the price it is very good. I don't give many establishments 5 star reviews, but when I do I stand by it. Continue to impress Ri-Ra's

Bogdan Plesa

It has a great atmosphere, a good place to be grab a drink and a snack. When i was there they had some electrical issues and they could not serve everything on the menu but i am sure it's not something normal. Overall a very good place to go in Portland.

Sydney Robyck

Just visiting on vacation and this was a great place to stop! We ordered the salmon reuben and the lobster roll. Both were awesome! Quick service too. I like that they have outdoor seating.

ben gavett

Go to irish pub in the Portland area. Actually, probably one of the best in Maine. Great food, decent prices and an awesome atmosphere. Great place to enjoy family, friends and good food.

Chris Banks

Atrocious service - completely incapable waitress. The manager was unwilling to resolve the multiple issues with our order, and it took over an hour and a half to get our food.

Doug Lauver

Great place for a fantastic dinner and lots of great drink options!

Theodore Haynie

Decent lunch with good service

Joyce Bakshi

Food ok,atmosphere cold- uninviting. Service robotic, no welcome at the door. A please wait to be seated sign was posted in front of closed doors, no one appeared, we walked in to very empty bar area and a waitress walked out from a back area and said sit where you like. Not welcomeing at all.

Anthony Labbe

Good times. Always a classic Old Port spot.

Cameron Rooney

Great food, Amazing location, Fantastic atmosphere. Highly recommend for date night. Good selection of beers, and almost complete collection of liquors.

Diane Souza

Fun for drinks and live music!

Rohan Jain

Did not have a good experience at all. The serving staff is really slow and mixed up our food order. When confronted, the food runner was rude and left without any explanation. The cocktails served were not consistent at all. We had a word with the manager who offered a discount without even listening to feedback which is not we were looking for. PLEASE listen to your customer’s feedback/concern fully before offering any concession because I’m not here to get a $20 discount on my check. Instead, I want to make sure other customers have a pleasant experience at your restaurant.

David Knowland

If you are coming here for a group meal be warned: food will come out slowly, and the service can be pretty lacking. (As a note: 20% will be added on to the receipt for gratuity, pretty standard practice, but still good to be told up front). The first occasion I came for a group event was for a post-wedding brunch. A reservation had been made, and the managers notified of the incoming crowd days in advance. Still took over an hour from ordering, for food to arrive to some people. At least the food was tasty and the views of the waters as nice as ever. The second time I went as a group, it was for a small birthday gathering. At the end of the meal the server informed us that they couldn't split checks. So we wrote out on the receipt which parts should go to which cards. Upon handing over the receipt and cards, we were told, "it would be much easier for me if you just wrote down how much everyone owes". Looking around the room I could tell that it was busy, but we had already tried to make this a little bit easier, and I would have been willing to stand there and point out what should go to which card if needs be. After some more back and forth with the bill, and an issue with us not totaling how much tax and tip each person owed on top of their meal (we thought we would be separately charged for it), the manager came out and was more accusatory than helpful. I'm glad that they were willing to stand up for their staff, but they could at least come at us a little more amicably than that. Finally after 25 minutes and a friend taking it all on their own card, the bill was paid. Still the food was tasty and views of the water as good as ever. RiRa please get a better POS if it is truly this difficult for your staff to split a bill! It shouldn't be a battle! If ever I am invited there for a group event I will sit happily with just a tap water. I can't speak to the experience for a smaller meal. I hear it's a great place to catch Rugby or Soccer matches, so if that's your thing, than it may still be worth the trip.

mark marquis

Awesome food lots of fun!

Trina Dinnar

Rí Rá Irish Pub & Restaurant is a hidden gem wedding venue in the Portland area. They have a whole upstairs area than can be used for wedding receptions! I had the fortunate opportunity to photograph a wedding here and it wasn't only a wonderful experience for me, but for my clients as well! The staff is courteous, organized and professional. I'll definitely be recommending Rí Rá to couples getting married in the Portland area!

Scott Pactor

Great place to watch a soccer match! Get there early for a seat or you will be standing. Dont miss the upstairs bar if downstairs get too busy. Food and drink is just ok.

griffin gribbel

Ri Ra has an impressive selection of draft beers and their food is what I would consider high end pub fare. This is the perfect place for a burger and a beer. It is casual but the food is very good.

Jacqueline Parks

Great spot in downtown. Food was delicious. Comfortable seating. Would definitely go back.

Scott Penoyer

Love the atmosphere

Brady Santoro

Typical pub fare, with a Maine-ish twist. The food was good in terms of pub food, the avocado toast being the standout, but the service lagged. Lovely spot on the harbor, with good views and good, but slow, service. Very well situated, and accessible from main points in the city, with plenty of space. Seems to embody Portland quite well.

Craig Bell

Excellent food. Good selection of local beer and the decor is excellent. From an old school pub downstairs to a cozy decor feel upstairs.

labby Jane

Amazing atmosphere and location. Food is mediocre. I ordered the crabcakes Benedict. The crab was good, the dressing on the greens where delicious. The egg was so overdone the yolks where hard. No run whatsoever. I felt like I wasted $18.00

Hilary Gibson

Great upstairs. Super comfortable. Great wait staff. Food good. Loved a bridesmaids lunch there.

Bob McCaffrey

Great pub me and some friends had a great time

Susan Hunter

We liked it a lot great place great food

Chloe Black

Emily our waitress was great. Very personable and nice! Weird spices in some stuff like the breakfast burger, very heavy, but fries were delicious.

Kristy Lank

The burger was awesome. Outside seating was great on this perfect day!

Leigh Russell

Pretty disappointed lately. Have lived in Portland for years and been to RiRa many times, but my last two visits the staff have been miserable. We went to the bar on a quiet night and no one wanted to help us. One waitress seemed to look on from afar, but ignored our looks for service. We had to leave after waiting 10 minutes. On another attempt we waited to be seated, per the sign, but none of the staff seemed to notice. The hostess couldn't be found, which is understandable, but we stood for more than five minutes with waitresses passing and intentionally ignoring our group. A simple "the host will be right with you" is all we wanted to hear. We spoke to the waitress but she walked away, pretending not to hear. I don't know what has changed here, but we are finally seated and the waitress at the bar still hasn't stopped by for a drink order, despite angrily stopping by to tell us to give her minute to wipe the table.

Matthew Damon

Parking nearby is a bit expensive but the food is good and the service is great. Had no complaints with my burger.

Erik Trick

Chairs were very old and table was high but the food was amazing.

Jon Lane

Solid food good service

Ian Wilson

Great food and lots of it. Great location.

Robert Lachance

Great restaurant, loved the food, the difference between upstairs decor and downstairs is totally different. Upstairs where we sat had a great view of the water and boats. Ordered Shepards Pie, wings, chicken dumplings, and fish and chips. All were delicious. I loved the lamb in the shepards pie, the wings were crispy, and the fish fry was a huge portion and tasty. Our waiter was great as well even though there was a wedding reception and three bridal parties going on! Glad we stopped here!

Kaitlyn Mahoney

Decent service, good spot for late night views.

Buzzy Baldwin

Served up warm Guinness!

Marcel Mary

The only thing missing is the accents. A whiskey list longer than my arm. Cozy spot for 2 or 20. Definitely on my list of places to return. The staff had great timing, very familiar with the menu. And great prices.

Laurie Raymaakers

Slow service...10 minutes for menu.. drink order taken additional 9 minutes later...six minutes until drink served ..have not received service yet to place meal order...and this is off season

Hannah A.

I'm so disappointed that I have to write this review because the atmosphere and food at Ri Ra were very good. While we were there, we truly enjoyed our experience. The problem was when we got home and saw our bank statement. We each had a pub burger which came to $23 and we left a $5 tip, bringing our total to $28. However, our card was charged $41. Hoping it was a mistake, I called and explained this to the manager who checked the transactions. He then told me that the bartender who served us, Garret (?), added an extra tip amount for himself and he was so sorry and would have the general manager call me back to give us the refund. I talked to the GM the next day and he made me sound like an inconvenience. He was exasperated and said he would talk to the bartender and try to get the money from him since it should come from his pocket (I don't know how the bartender wasn't fired for stealing!). The GM asked me to call back the next day after 8pm after he talked to the bartender. That's when I got upset because I shouldn't be the one jumping through hoops to get the money back that was stolen from me, the GM should've been so apologetic and considerate of the situation. I told him that I won't be calling back a 3rd time and it's ridiculous that I have to do all of this over a stolen $13 and to just send me a check in the mail. To which he grumbled and said he's never done that before and he would have to get the cash from the guy and he didn't know if it could be done. So I told him that I expect the check in the mail and that's that. I can't even believe that our money was stolen and we're the ones having to beg to get it back. Make sure you check your bank statement if you eat here, because if that bartender wasn't fired, then who knows how many more people he stole from!

Mary M

Great place! The smoked pork cuban sandwich is SO good!!

Suzy Worster

LOVE this place! Drive down from Bangor regularly to visit here. Awesome menu, great drinks and awesome staff.

Mindy G

There for a work function tasty foods and drinks. Super helpful and friendly staff.

John Najarian

Excellent food and drinks, authentic decor, water views are incredible, staff is excellent, great place for dinner, drinks, or functions.

Joseph Zielinski

Food was fantastic, however the service and our waiter John were all around awful. Took over 30 minutes to order food and drinks but the food was delicious when we finally received it. Tried paying our check at the end of the night and we were overcharged for a happy hour special, the server lost my credit card when we gave him the bill, when they finally found my card they told me they did not accept "discovery" cards so I paid with a different one. Left only a cash tip, but was magically charged an extra $24 when I checked my statement later. Would love to recommend this place because the food and atmosphere were great, but the service was ridiculously bad.

Richard Cleaves

Seriously flawed service. Made reservations for 15 for a 21st birthday. The food although good came out in increments of 15 minutes. Multiply by 6 or 7 and you get the picture. Worst part was none of the staff seemed to care that one person had their meal an hour before the person sitting next to them. Poorly done

Deb Stevens

Highly recommend salmon and chicken & dumplings

Dan Bernal

I think I have now been to every Ri Ra outside of Ireland. Consistently great pubs.

Tom Sawyer

Its a mixed bag, some days 10/10, some days 1/10. At least the occasionally have a rugby game on.

Daniel F Sheehy

Best pub food ever. Going back

Stephen Hurd

Not impressed. Overpriced. Not inviting at all in afternoons.

Great small town Irish Pub with a great rotating tap selection. The fish and chips are awesome. Great cozy atmosphere and the wait staff was amazing and very accommodating. Worth a visit while in the Old Port. I suggest maybe going with more upbeat Irish themed music versus top hits pop.

Food was cold... overpriced...and just meh. Not worth it. So many better places to eat.

Julie Wagner

Great bar with delicious food. Nice place to gather with friends.

Slow and I mean slow service. But what do you expect from college kids these days

Matt Stone

Great local bar, with a large selection of beverages. High quality pub fare. Friendly staff. Different rooms/areas with different vibes. Fun bands, quiz nights, outdoor seating. Great views of the waterfront.

The steak was flavorful, tender and juicy. Cooked perfectly. The service was a little slow but we didn't care as we were on date night

Went for lunch on 6/22. Tried to order one cider, they were out of it. Tried to order the brisket poutine, they were out of it. We were seated right away, and waters were brought over. Server was fairly inattentive from that point on. We didn't have cutlery and had to ask the runner from the kitchen to bring it to us. Then one of the forks was dirty. Took forever for us to get our check. My friend had to ask the hostess to have it brought over. My friend ordered basic breakfast and said it was ok. I had the breakfast poutine and it was decent. I did like the variety of potatoes used. They have outdoor seating, but it's facing the street, not the water. Average experience that you could take or leave. Much better options in the area.

Very friendly Irish pub. A lot of local clientele not just filled with tourists despite being in an area of downtown hotels. Good food and drink. We enjoyed our dinners - shepherd's pie and bangers & hash. Shepherds pie was with ground lamb, carrots & peas and topped with lightly browned mashed potatoes and pieces of goat cheese. The atmosphere of the pub has a very Irish feel.

Winter evening midweek visit. Sat upstairs and was very warm, cozy and friendly.

Christopher Cooper

Great place for hyper-fresh seafood, especially oysters. Very lively (loud) atmosphere. Be prepared to wait until you are lucky or way off peak times.

Crystal Gagnon

Had drinks and an appetizer. The key lime martini and spinach and artichoke dip was delish! Will be back again on our future trips!

Jason

Super nice Irish waitress :) I always go to the one in Las Vegas. Same great atmosphere, food and drink!

Steve

Went to dinner and the restaurant was VERY loud due to trivia night. Didn’t mind too much, it was fun to listen, just very loud. The service was VERY slow even though there wasn’t many customers. I ordered the burger and my girlfriend ordered the veggie burger and I have to say...it was worth the wait. The food was very, very, good. Would definitely go back.
