I've now been to Ore Nell's Barbecue twice. The food is amazing. Their brisket is fork tender and the pulled pork is divine. Side dishes give a nod to southern style cooking. The cocktail menu is interesting but they don't have a cider on tap. My only real complaint was their sangria - it's from a bottle rather than made in house and basically tastes like syrup. However, they replaced the drink without question; you can't ask for better service.

There are very few BBQ places worth the drive. This place is SO worth it. Everything we had was great. The brisket was moist, not dry like it is at every other place. Little too much paprika on the potato salad, but who cares!!! Kale salad was great!!!!

Alan Henderson

Excellent BBQ, especially the brisket. Meat is all great even without BBQ sauce. A tad pricey compared to what I'm used to spending on good BBQ, but I guess it's on par with everything in the area. Great outdoor seating area with views of the river and bridges.

Service was fine when i placed my order to go the staff was friendly and speedy filling my order A+ there. Food though... ribs were good no compliants there A+. Pulled pork however was so full of fat it was like chewing gum. When you got to the meat it was super dry. Worst pulled pork i have ever had. Mac and cheese plain and super over priced 7$ for a ben and jerrys sized portion get real. Called the manager about the pork and was blown off. We asked to have it replaced i would have drove back out the 45mins to show them the atrocity they served me for 18$ it was bad.. they told me they will tell the chef and hung up. Terrible customer service not like i was asking for a free meal. .. dont go here there are much better places to go within a 30min drive with much bigger portions and way lower prices.

William Reynolds

Nice view decent barbeque.

This place is fantastic. The weather was nice and their outside seating area has a pleasant view overlooking the Piscataqua. We ordered the Bbq plate for two which comes with brisket, pulled pork, ribs, and three sides. We chose collard greens, pinto beans, and potato salad for the sides. Everything was outstanding. There are two types of bbq sauces on the table, a house sauce and a spicy sauce, both delicious, although I favor a little heat. Get the collard greens. They know how to do them here. Not sure that can be said about anywhere else in New England. I've lived in Texas and Florida in the past, and I'd argue Ore Nell's can fit right in in terms of quality down in the South where bbq like this is part of the culture. The price was very reasonable. I thought my bill was on the low side for this type of food, at this quality, in this area (Portsmouth/Kittery area runs a little pricey). The staff were friendly and attentive. Water was on the table within a minute, drink orders within five, food within 20. We will definitely be returning here.

Do yourself a favor and get over here. It’s outstanding!

csels

Oh, yeah!! Meaty juicy ribs not drowned in sauce but "rubbed" to perfection. Best we've had in a long time in a lot of places! And Mac n' cheese light enough to feel un-guilty. Pulled pork with cole slaw very special sandwich. Can be a little noisy but the delish dishes kinda takes you to a place where you just don't mind! Great speedy staff that cares and pays attention. Will be there often.

Will Costin

Will never EVER go back to ore Nell’s. Place is over priced for what you get. Went with a party of six I ordered the pulled pork, sausage and potato salad. The pork had a good flavor but was very greasy and mushy, potato salad was dry and tasteless, sausage was also dry almost chalky! After the meal it took the waiter 6 times to get our checks correct! And to top it all off I didn’t feel very well after the meal! Avoid this place it’s another typical overpriced mediocre seacoast restaurant! Definitely not authentic bbq!

Brian Lee

Brisket is amazing!!

Kevin Underwood

Reggie Temir

Great foods, friendly staff. Cant wait summer for eat outside!

Aaron Grossman

Kim Lamoureux

Love the food! Love the staff!

Josh Alfonso

Everything was amazing, especially the brisket!

Jessica Wansker

Texas BBQ done to perfection. Tender, savory, and authentic. Love it! Great sides, and if they are offering their homemade cornbread, order one for yourself, and then another one for yourself. It's THAT good. *for those interested, menu is gluten free friendly...cornbread included...

Liz Huber

The wonderful view from the outdoor dining area was as delightful to the eyes as the fabulous fare was to the palate.

Raymond Balcom

Great food excellent service. Parking lot is small and can be tough to park in large vehicle. But well worth any wait for the food.

Bob Roth

Best BBQ north of Texas!

Kristina Hathaway Hathaway

Amazing all around.

FQVBSina

We ordered 1/4 lb brisket, 1/2 rack ribs, 1/4 lb tofu, mac and cheese, potato salad, pinto beans, and two linked beef sausages. We loved all of them (with some reservations towards the sausages)! My dad said those are the first briskets he liked in a long while, and we were surprised to see the tofu, which also had a nice flavor. The side dishes are also delicious with nothing much to pick on but praises. The prices were very reasonable and we finished it off strong with the best banana pudding I have ever had. Would visit again.

Suzanne Nobile

Amazing oak smoked ribs and best smoked pulled pork around! Great drinks too!

Stef W

Very good!

Raymond Gagnon

Authentic Texas barbecue, delicious!

Andrew Tomas

Dry ribs, poor service

Cindy Ross

Great setting, food, very friendly service. A little slow but worth it.

Alan Henderson

Excellent BBQ, especially the brisket. Meat is all great even without BBQ sauce. A tad pricey compared to what I'm used to spending on good BBQ, but I guess it's on par with everything in the area. Great outdoor seating area with views of the river and bridges.

Todd Every

Great food, easy atmosphere.

Gina Quinton

I have never had such great barbecue in my life!!! Ribs are indescribably good, brisket is mouth watering! Banana pudding is to die for! I crave this place and travel across 2 states for it!! Do not miss this one!!!♡

Lance Conover

Place was great from the time I walked in to departure, Wales into town from truck stop could smell it about 2 blocks away, wait staff was prompt and very nice recommend it when in town I will definitely be back.

Ava Taylor

Good food.

Allison Tuttle

First of all, let me say, the food is delicious. The ribs and brisket were great. Unfortunately, the service leaves something to be desired. They are very nice but everything takes forever. Our server did not seem to have that much experience. The food was great, and I highly recommend the ribs, they were amazing! Update 7 months later. Tried again, service is still AWEFUL.

Michael LaBarre

Myles Moriarty

I had the chicken sandwich with Cole slaw on top, and it was good. The other six in my party seemed to enjoy their selections, especially the ribs.

doug scully

Great food good service

Joe Sorcic

Superb BBQ brisket and burnt ends! Highly recommend a visit!

Chandler Scully

Overall experience was very good. The brisket was cooked and prepared excellently. The side dishes for the tray meals need work, was a little under welling, mac and cheese was unseasoned, the bread that came with the tray meal was stale and regular white sliced bread nothing special, maybe an in-house biscuit or wheat bread would be great. The portions of the trays that come with sliced onions and a couple pickles(like 3) that were dull and just from market basket. Totaly would recommend a home made pickle, that would be awesome.

Demetri B

Great textures on the meats. Sauce and overall tastes needs dramatic improvement.

Jordanna Kasander

This place is amazing and never disappoints. We have been several times and the food is awesome, the service is friendly and helpful and you can’t beat a delicious drink and BBQ outside on the river! Our favorite go-to place!

Wes L

Delicious BBQ and a fun atmosphere

TJ McCann

Cozy spot with limited parking but great views of the Piscataqua. The brisket was fantastic. Great spot for Q

Ashlyn Ford

Hands down the best Barbecue place I have ever been to!! Went with my mom we got Brisket and ribs and oh damn were they so good! The brisket was amazing and had a nice spice kick and the ribs almost melted in our mouthes! The sauces were great additions. I don't think I can go anywhere else for barbecue now!

Bhaskaran K

Mike Pagán

Fantastic food. I brought my family of four and was able to try a little of everything. I was impressed by the quality and had a great experience all around.

Justin Reinhardt

The food was amazing. My wife and I had a little of everything, the cornbread was great, all the meats were perfect, the sauces were great. This was the first time I've had sweet collard greens, very nice touch. Even the pintos were excellent. I'm sure we will be back!

John Costa

This place has the best BBQ in the northeast, it's a must visit if your in the area! Great views of the water if you sit outside, and a spacious bar if the weather is not cooperating.

james lazarus

Friendly service, throughly forgettable bbq, reheated with steam over cooked mushy ribs, mushy brisket no smoke flavor!! (maybe do to the resteaming?) weak beer tap pours..no need to wasted your cash here lot off good bbq around.

Emmanuel

I came to Maine to feast in some of America's finest restaurants. I was expecting bougie dining experiences and excellent seafood, but the highlight of our dining experience was some authentic home grown Texas BBQ. The brisket was juicy and tender, with excellent spicy BBQ sauce (perhaps too spicey for Mainers) and all the sides were home made and richly flavored!

Tracy Abraham

Dave Costa

Great food, really stellar service! Knowledgeable staff and killer specials, I'll be back!

Miranda Harris

It's just damn good. Nothin quite compares.

Richard Matz

Very good BBQ in a casual environment. Decent beer selection. Our server really knew the menu and was quite helpful.

Allen Demers

Good solid BBQ. Tender, wish it was a little smokier...

Dale Baril

Bland food, service was not good.

Anna Boutin

The food is incredible here, drinks are nice and the environment is sweet. Right on the water, nice view, no bugs and they gave my dog the 5 star treatment. Really high end food for really low prices too!

Janet Richards

Best barbeque east of the Mississippi!

Jonathan Hemphill

Simply the absolute best brisket I've had. Reasonable prices. It is not a large restaurant, so call ahead - especially during busy season.

carrie murphy

Wow! Loved everything about our time here. Good brisket is hard to find and this was amazing. Two hour drive for us, we would make it for this place.

tanya turner

Amazing!!! Loved it so juicy!

Adam Schroadter

We sat outside to get the sea air and the water view. The staff was attentive and super nice. The food was prepared quickly and was very tasty. The Jalapeno cheddar honey cornbread should be a menu staple., not a special. We got the BBQ for 2, all the proteins needed a little more smoke or bark, the pulled pork was good. The brisket was moist and tender. The ribs were rhe star, fall off the bone, tasty and done just right. The Mac and cheese had a punch of cheddar, the potato salad was like none I had before, dill flavor was the primary taste, lots of peprika. The homemade lemonaid also did not disappoint. The one flaw to the meal was everything was warm, not hot. Even with that I would recommend stopping in.

Joshua Schaer

Ordered today to-go for 4 people. Brisket and ribs were outstanding, easily the highlight of the meal. We also had the chicken and pulled pork, both delicious, but overshadowed by the brisket that was just - wow - so it overshadowed the other meats. Kale salad was delicious and the homemade vinaigrette was tasty and creamy. The corn bread was great, but a small portion.

Scott Forte

Fantastic!!!! I have never said anywhere in New England has a BBQ place that can compete with KC or Texas, but this place not only competes... It's a top contender! MUST TRY

megan delanoy

Amazzzing! Seriously so yummy!

Best BBQ in New England! You owe it to yourself to stop at Ore Nell for authentic Texas-style BBQ with a great atmosphere and friendly staff. Shout out to Sarah and Tom. When I walked through the door I was greeted like a family friend from the man in the kitchen. The whole place is cozy and warm; it was like I was transported to Houston or Austin and treated like one of their own. Food: I got a half pound of brisket with Mac, potato salad, and collard greens (with a Texas Napkin). First and foremost, You can see from the pics how perfect this flat of brisket was, smoked to perfection with a slightly spicy bark and a beautiful smoke ring. It pulled apart with the lightest tug and melted in the mouth like a piece of meat candy. I can safely say as of writing this post that this is the best brisket I've ever had. Next let's talk about the VT cheddar mac and cheese which was delectable, creamy and a perfect compliment to the meat as any great Mac should be. The potato salad had some serious flavor and it'd be the show-stopper side at the next family cook out. And the collard greens were tart, spicy, fresh, and salty as all get out. Another perfect compliment to the flavors on display. I can't wait to come back and try what I missed out on. There should be a line down the Memorial Bridge and wrapped around Badgers island for this food! Also Ore Nell low key have the best sauce applicators in the game.

Kathryn O'Malley

We called in a takeout order around 5:15pm for an assortment of foods as we were trying Ore Nell's for the first time. The interior was well designed, and the vibe was getting there. The ladies at the door were super friendly and dressed casually, the food was right on time, packed up all nice like. The food itself.... left room for desire. The pulled pork was good and the chicken sandwich was probably the best. The pickles were to my liking and the corn bread was better than most local places (an order serves one). They gave us 12 (TWELVE!) servings of sauce, 10 of which ended up in the trash. The brisket was a bit chewy, ribs a little dry, and the beans were way too salty for us. We will likely try them again, next time we'll eat there for the full experience. Unfortunately I forgot to photograph the meal but it did look pretty great in a charming New England way :)

Excellent....food , drinks and wait staff. Cant wait to go back

Lots of gluten free options and some bodacious barbecue! Flavorful, juicy and fallin off the bone ribs...yum

Kevin Fields

Looking forward to heading to Ore Nell's today after we visit the Kittery Maine block party! We have been here 2 other times and have not been disappointed. It is good having a BBQ place close by. Meat is very tender and sides are very good also. From a previous review someone complained about plastic knives/forks. I would only expect plastic at a BBQ joint. If you are looking for silverware go to a fine restaurant. The pricing is consistent with other excellent BBQ places. I personally will pay more for good BBQ because I know the work that goes into it. The only reason I did not give 5 stars was because of the sauces. I would suggest more flavors including a "HOT" BBQ sauce for experienced BBQ folks and lose the gourmet sauce containers. Just give me a squeeze bottle! Nice atmosphere that you would expect for a BBQ joint. I smoke meats myself and can tell you that this stuff is good. Keep up the good smoke work pit master Will Myska and I look forward to meeting you someday.

Tyler Ingram

Great outdoor location right on the Piscataqua River. Delicious food (best brisket I've ever had!) and really friendly people.

Brian Burris

I cant decide which tasty little happy hour sanwich I like the best..

If you want to experience original downhome Texas Barbeque at its best, man are you are in for a treat with this place. Chef Will Myska, who hails from Texas, was taught the art of barbeque by his grandfather, Ore Nell. I'll tell you what, I have eaten there twice now and both meals have been simply outstanding. The ribs were, suck off the bone tender and the brisket almost melted in your mouth. The flavor is something you simply have to experience. The ambience is excellent inside, but if there is room, I would encourage you to eat outside where you have 2 choices, the outdoor patio or in Adirondack chairs under the trees on the lawn. Both are excellent choices as each overlooks the river. There are beautiful sunsets behind the bridges to the west. Ore Nell's is literally just across the river from Portsmouth, NH on Badger's Island. This will definitely be a frequent place for my wife and I.

Seanny Kash

Incredible food and a very special place, orchestrated by the talented pitmaster Will Myska and David Vargas. Kudos to you and all of your staff! Will be back very soon!!!

Deb Sayles

We had ribs with salsa verse on them. Yum. Yum yum. And the brisket was perfect. Smokey and fork tender. Sauces were ok. Cole slaw was average. We are not bread eaters so the white bread gets no review. Service was excellent. Oh yeah, bartender services were great too. $2 draft?? Rum drink for me.

Thomas KBKLO

(Translated by Google) Restaurant ok overall. The food is good. The service smiling and warm. Little advice, come on weekdays. (Original) Restaurant correct dans l'ensemble. La nourriture est bonne. Le service souriant et chaleureux. Petit conseil, venir en semaine.

Robin Fagerlund

Went for barbecue last night. Had a great table outside. Ribs were terrific, Cole slaw was soggy limp just awful, loved the grease stained back door which needs a paint job, and paper trash on the ground added to the obiance. Ala Carter menu was excessive especially for cornbread. And what’s up with plastic utensils but no straws because straws are bad for the environment also the inconsistency of some tables getting china and silverware while some getting plastic . Poor young server definitely not trained properly very overwhelmed . To cover his inadequacy all other staff covered for him. The space is great never have I given such a small tip. Casual and fun does not equate to overpriced sides and unkempt public areas

Ali Rowe

Best Texas barbeque in the seacoast.

Kyle Olsen

This was the best meal I’ve had at a restaurant in a long time! I can’t complain about anything! The service was great as well as the atmosphere! We parked at memorial bridge parking and walked across! Such a good idea because I’m so full I need to walk this meal off!

Joe Seluk

Excellent barbecue, great drinks and the view from the deck is awesome! Highly recommend Ore bell's Barbecue

Davita Fortier

The ribs just fall off the bones!

Paula Hamilton

KICK A$$ BBQ!!. We got small bits of all and was super yummy!!

Corey Marceau

Awesome food! You can easily enjoy every meal without sauce but their homemade sauces, available at table, are tremendous. Justin took great care of us and others. If you want Texas in Southern Maine, come here!

Kathy Connor

Excellent real BBQ, craft cocktails and microbrews.

Travis Lizotte

Best Barbeque on the Seacost! I can explain until I'm blue in the face but you just have to try it!

Jason Pelletier

Everything was great but those ribs are next level. Good sauces too. Definitely going again.

Karla and Bryan Moulton

Brisket and pulled pork were amazing! Their sauces could be a bit thicker but were very tasty! Side dishes were good.

Jason Snyder

We have been to Ore Nell’s several times and the food and service was great! We recently had a post wedding event catered for eighty guests, and the experience was perfect! Justin and the staff helped plan the food and provided a great spread. Many of our guests were international visitors, and they raved about the food. And there was plenty of food for everyone! Highly recommend the restaurant and the catering services!

Alex Griffin

I swear people go on google just to complain! This place is awesome! Not only are the pricing is very good (especially given the area and view), but the portions are perfect! Not too big or small, ordered a forth of brisket with a side. Tried the kale salad as well, one of the best salads I’ve had out to eat in a while (props to whoever makes the dressing). The meat is amazing, fall off the bone! Cornbread was killer too. Best BBQ in the area! Great job guys, good to see such a good restaurant open up in the area!

Andrew R

If offered a last meal, I would choose ore nells. If I were reincarnated afterwards, my first meal would be ore nells.

Natasha Sudiaman

Paul Edson

Very limited menu.Dissapointed.The thing that saved me was the personality of the Bartender. She was an absolute sweetheart. The only thing that I found on the menu that I liked however was the Corn Beef Sandwich.Had to ask for Salt&Pepper, and had to ask for Catsup.TV was fabulous.Sports and more Sports.

Betsy Wilson

Best barbeque I have had in a long time!! Friendly service also!!

Andre Cantelmo

Food was over the top good. Must try the brisket! Bring your appetite.

Mike Siebach

Good, authentic BBQ. Never had to wait more than five minutes. The portions are fair; I wouldn't say generous. If you are within 20 minutes of Portsmouth, and looking for BBQ, check this place out. Friendly staff all around, too.

Wayne Livermore

Great food some locally sourced. Has gluten free and vegan options. Some nice outdoor and picnic table options. Liked the ribs and brisket. Really good Mexican corn on cob and corn bread with honey. I had never had waffle fries so I got them and I liked them. 2 others got loaded baked potato which they also reported as good. Camden who is 18 months had a pb and j ate half and a couple of fries also had a scoop of vanilla ice cream for dessert which he clearly enjoyed. Moderate prices friendly service. Had a cloth child seat for the table for the baby nice view of the river. Just a really pleasant evening meal. A real high point of the day.

Keith Tharp

A BBQ tofu sandwich, waffle fries, and a great view on a gorgeous night. The outdoor eating area is great with an excellent view of the sunset. The staff was very kind, and the food was very good. I’m not sure what it is about waffle fries that make them better than regular fries, but they were delicious!! I very much appreciate that Ore Nell’s has a yummy option, in line with their theme, available for folks that don’t eat meat.

Jen Fuller

The service was great. Very professional friendly hostess. The food was really good. On one or two rare occasions I had brisket that was more tender but it was still good. Got the German choc flourless cake. Really yummy but if I had made it, I would have added a drizzle of a Carmel , butter or coconut sauce for moisture and contrast. Love the deconstructed "dig in" presentation. Very good just the same.

vergesociety .

Decided I'd try this place with my lady friend for Labor Day weekend. Our waitress Alexis was very nice, knowledgeable and helped us choose our meals. Everything came out hot and quick. I was very impressed, but my lady friend not so much... I found out that night she was a vegetarian (something you don't find out on a Tinder bio). So I broke up with her and left my number for the waitress. Alexis if you are reading this text me? 5 out of 5 stars I recommend the pulled pork. It was fantastic.

Mike Kleist

Very friendly, good beer selection, my ribs were very good. Definitely we'll go back again.

Tim Leber

Food was great, great beer selection, amazing staff, shout out to Travis from the front of the house, awesome server and person

robert cormier

Excellent bbq. The sides are a bit bland. Otherwise delicious food

Justin Richardson

This is a bona fide texas style restaurant. Our service was excellent, food was amazing.... another great place to go in portsmouth... we are so lucky. Don't overlook the mac and cheese or Frito salad. Great beer selection too. Mind blown.

Forest Immel

Great food in cozy atmosphere.

Matt Tirabassi

Superb! No more driving an hour for Goodie Cole's. Only downside was wife telling me to apply for a job.

Great Ribs. Great Atmosphere. Favorite place to go in the seacoast

Michelle Bresch

This is the best barbecue ever!!

David Allen

Food and service were excellent.

Phil Scott

I'd really like to give more than 3 stars, but I've been here twice and I'm a fan of math. My first trip was delightful, the service was great and the food was delicious. Unfortunately, my second trip was pretty much the opposite of that...I sat at the bar and was mostly ignored. Also, my food the second time was far less tasty than the first visit. In fact, out of the two people sitting next to me..one complained the brisket was too dry and the other actually requested a whole new slab of ribs because they were so tough. My food on this visit wasn't so bad that I would demand a refund or replacement food...but it wasn't great either. My brisket was indeed dry...but my ribs were pretty decent. Oddly enough my Vermont Mac and cheese didn't taste as good as I remembered the first time either. My second visit was on a Friday night, and it was quite busy...and my first visit was on a Sunday night and not nearly as busy. I'm sure that plays into my experience heavily...but it definitely has me thinking I should stay away until winter comes back around, as it doesn't seem they are quite ready for the chaos that is summer.

Maine-Texas connection? Yes, you can go Walker's Point and try to capture a glimpse of the Presidents Bush. Or, for a tasty alternative head to Badger Island and visit Ore Nell's Barbecue. It's a great location for handicap individuals. It was very easy for me to go from the car to the picnic table located riverside. See pictures. They have authentic Texas dry rub BBQ, created by an authentic Texas Pitmaster. This is real Texas BBQ intended to be eaten without sauce. Some establishments in Texas would grab you by the scruff of your neck and throw you out if you asked for sauce. At Ore Nell's Barbecue they're more tolerant and do have both a spicy and tangy molasses sauce that we New Englanders can use to satisfy our BBQ sauce cravings.

Matthew Lerner

Delicious barbecue at very reasonable price points. Will go again.

Stacy R

I am a native to Portsmouth, NH, and now a Maine resident but will be sure to avoid dining at participating venues during restaurant week. I have been to this establishment at least 4x over the past year with zero complaints and am avid supporter of Maine businesses and restaurants. However, being asked to move twice at the bar while I’m serious conversation with my companion was an annoyance. One time is understandable but two, not so much. We do appreciate the offer to comp a drink but I didn’t notice it on the bill. Since the service was great and our dinner, I’ll overlook the inconvenience but my recommendation is that the restaurant provide better seating alternatives during restaurant week and prevent minimal disruption to paying and dining bar customers.

Melissa Cook

We sat at the bar. The food was fabulous, my bf is from Texas and was very happy to see Frito pie on the menu. We shared BBQ for 2 along with the Frito pie. We took most of bball it home. The bar tender was attentive and genuine. Looking forward to coming back again.

David Cline

Been there many times but tonights meal was the best. They just keep getting better. Honestly the best brisket I have ever had.

Alan Williford

I'm from the south... this is close enough to keep me happy.

David Marcel Arseneau

Came for a Swine Dining experience...stayed for the Brisket! 4-1/2!

Ryan Kane

I have eaten here more than any other place in the seacoast. And they've only been open for a short amount of time. Never disappoints. Always perfect portions. And the beer selection is above expectations. Good looking kitchen staff too ;)

Vic Drake

Not many places can make tofu flavorful, but they really know how! Great food and staff.

Amanda Bowers

Probably good for local area, but not destination food - if you have the time, go to Sweet Cheeks in Boston instead. Service suffered, largely due to poor organization, our server clearly was unaware we were there for so long and told us 1 second to the go take an order from someone who got there after we had literally put down our menus; he was again unaware that we didn't have our food yet when he came to check on us and obviously had to remind the busboy to bring our food over. Sweet tea was only mildly sweetened and tasted bitter from over steeping. Pulled pork / meats were reasonable quality but overly seasoned & barbecue sauce a little too spicy Sides on the tray as mentioned by others were absurd plain white bread, pickles and onions, which while not a deal breaker just seemed wasteful. Overall, while the meat quality was good,to given all the other aspects of the meal, the portions did not feel like they merited cost, the pricing would be reasonable were the overall quality higher matching the quality of the meat.

Richie J

WOW. THATS AMAZING BBQ

Great food. Great service

Justin Stasiowski

Great BBQ, nice interior architecture, full bar.

John Sponauer

What a great find driving through. Ribs and brisket were excellent. Collard greens the best I've ever had.

Cameron Carvalho

I absolutely love this place, food was amazing, if I was being sentenced to the death chair I’d ask for my last meal to be the pulled pork for my last meal, the service here was also 5 Star, I highly recommend

Staff was absolutely amazing and friendly! Very accommodating and the food was delicious highly recommended I'll definitely be back again.

Good food, good location, and good prices for the food - drink prices are steep. Average service is why I took a star away. One of the waitresses was openly mocking a customer right in front of my friend and I. Made me wonder what they said about us behind the corner.

The honey BBQ ribs may be the best I've ever had!!!!

Best TEXAS BBQ IN NEW ENGLAND! I have been back several times and brought many friends. Delicious everytime. I usually try a daily special and stick with a regular choice of beef brisket or chicken. BEST BBQ IN NEW ENGLAND!

Our dinner adventure with friends took us to Ore Nell’s, on Badger Island, right between Portsmouth, NH and a Kittery, ME. We kicked things off with the jalapeño corn bread and Frito pie. My wife and I had the ribs and our friends had the brisket and pulled pork. We closed out dinner with the banana pudding and funnel cake. Everything was fabulous! There is inside and outdoor seating and parking. The staff was super friendly. Can’t wait to come back.

Great BBQ,Delicious food and friendly service.

Food, service and atmosphere are fantastic! Love the outdoor seating. Have been multiple times with my wife and once with my family and everyone loved it. Authentic smoked barbeque not smothered in bbq sauce. We love the mac and cheese and brisket!

Their Frito Pie is amazing as well as their cornbread and anything else you will order. Their ribs melt in your mouth.

Excruciatingly tasty.

Ore Nell's Texas BBQ what can I say? I can say it's the best barbecue I've eaten north of the Mason-Dixon line, I had the burnt ends which were insanely delicious, I am talking perfectly seasoned fall apart melt-in-your-mouth tender, I also had the potato salad which was a delight all in itself as well as a side of wonderful corn bread to balance everything out I washed it all down with a nice ice cold Coca-Cola. Having eaten there only one time, I am already a huge fan and will be a repeat customer often. Chef will is awesome at the top of his game!!

Our waiter Mateo was very nice. Our food was great. We have the bbq for 2 and it was more than enough for my husband and I. Our teens helped and had their own chicken and pulled pork sandwiches. We also did desert to which was good as well. Texas style all the way. We would go again for sure.

Hands down one of the best places in town/the area!!! Texas style bbq so good!!!!!!!!! Right on the water, to me better than any of the "water front restaurants" in Portsmouth/Kittery. If you go here and have a bad meal there's a problem!! Service could be better but welcome to the seacoast. Great food, great view, perfect atmosphere. Keep up the great work! And dont forget your snow cone!!!!

Not too expensive. Great food.

Serious no frills Texas BBQ! Best place in New England to get it. Hands down.

This is the best BBQ I've had in my life! Tender, juicy, and homemade sauce are tremendous! New outside area has a beautiful view of the river.

Came through on recommendation from a friend whose company supplies their (local!) produce. Was very impressed--very friendly staff, lovely outdoor seating area overlooking the water, and--most importantly--the food! I had the special Korean ribs, which came stacked 5 high--a perfection portion--and garnished with punchy, sweet/sour gherkins, green onions, and a just-sweet-enough sauce (which played well with their de arbol bbq sauce). Ribs were tender, meaty, and perfectly filling, and the side of vegan coleslaw (I'm lactose intolerant) was fresh, perfectly acidic, and well-spiced. Will definitely be back.

Food looked and tasted so good I forgot to get a pic until I was halfway through my meal. Everything was great ribs, beef sausage, mac-n-cheese and cornbread.
