Great food spoiled by less than great service. The waitress was nice but never offered us refills or asked how food was. Than when dropping off check there was automatic gratuity added of 20%. Which we usually tip more than that but the waitress replied we do that with all parties of 5 or more after reading the menu said 6 or more. This was a very obvious cause of them trying to take advantage of customers. Thankfully we noticed or she would have been double tipped, everyone else keep notice.

Overall good food. Steak is always tough though... Better to get chicken, shrimp or tofu when the option exists.

man, i am not historically a Thai food lover. I like chinese, love Indian, have had some killer Burmese food, love everything else but Thai has never impressed me. Either super hot or tastes like socks. Well that was about to change. We stopped at this place which just opened in our home town of Falmouth Maine. Wow. First of all, it is very stylish. Not tacky at all. Subdued green colors, wood, waterfalls and laser art on walls, very cool lit bar. Super friendly people. We got there at about 8pm on a Friday; they'd only been open for a few days and were understaffed. Once they realized they'd overlooked us, they couldn't have been more gracious. Gave us some vegetable rolls gratis, then we ordered chicken satay, steamed butterflies (dumplings), and a sausage dish from the north of thailand (name escapes me!). My wife got a beef salad which she loved and I got singapore noodles with shrimp and chicken. The tastes were extraordinary. Nothing common, nothing pretentious. Just super elegant and sophisticated. The place was spotless, presentation was delightful, understated yet very chic. We were suitably blown away, and Pom, the owner sat down with us for 5 minutes to introduce herself and tell us a little history of the place. She already has 3 other restaurants and has had a banner grand opening week. Can't find a single fault. We'll be back.

Not very happy with my meal this evening. Almost $17 for an order of Pork Fried Rice? They don't post the prices on the web....definitely should have asked. The dish was sparse and bland. Too bad because I wanted to like it.

#portland #thai #maine This was not a great experience. Once we were sat and we waited for 15 minutes to get drinks and they didn't even get it correct. We ordered ginger meed and got chai. My food tasted burnt. I kept finding little bits of something burned throughout the time I tried to eat it. I told the waitress but she smiled and said thank you.... I left it at that. She asked if I wanted a box after I told her it tasted bad. She said, okay. So we didn't get any visit from the manager or anything for that bad tasting meal. I think this place has done better. We also had a really good dinner at our table but it wasn't my chicken pad Thai.

The smallest serving of rice in any asian restaurant that I have ever been to, so hopefully you are not too hungry)) Yellow curry was delicious and panaeng was just fine. We wanted to order panaeng Thai Thai curry but waitress let us know that they were out. Which was funny, because she knew we are choosing one of the curries and didn't tell us earlier. We were hoping to take advantage of one of the widely advertised happy hour specials, but oh boy, beware of asking about it! The waitress was acting like she never even heard of it and website info is out of date even though they update their Facebook page sever times a week. She was also very rude when we asked about an additional rice. To summarize: food is good, the interior is good, service is no good.

Very clean. Staff was very friendly and polite. Portion to Price ratio was a little lacking. I've been to other Thai establishments where the portions are much bigger for less money. The quality of the food here was really good and we left satisfied.

Wow. The best Thai food I've ever had. I had crispy pad Thai and meekrob (special made by the wonderful chef!) And they were both delicious. The coconut ice cream fried in pound cake is to die for. We shared and fought over every spoonful!

Just passing through town from Chicago. walked in to have a beer at the bar. wow....nice place! bartender suggested his favorite dishes on the menu. ordered to go. wow fantastic food. best Thai food I've ever had. just absolutely perfect. in Maine of all places! definitely wil be coming back for seconds next time I pass through town. this time i will be dining in. again wow!

My food was ok, my partners dish had burned pieces of food mixed throughout which made the whole dish taste burned. We brought it up to our server and nothing was offered. Not a new dish or anything. That was disappointing.

The best crab rang goon my wife and I have ever had! Actual crab meat in it! Everything was excellent, even the service was very good. Seating was a little tight for my comfort but the people were pleasant enough around us.

Service is awkward and a little rude. Food is good and quality is consistent, but noticeably overpriced. Nothing remarkable about this place. Also, ordered one of their recommended ‘most popular’ dishes - muscles/curry dish, and 60% of the muscle shells were empty. Luckily for them they’re located in Falmouth, and Falmouth people are ok with paying super-premium prices for an average experience. I recommend going to Portland and enjoying a real dining-out experience.

Another branch of Pom's restaurants, and as expected, terrific food. I had the Khao Soi. Peanutty curry with crispy and soft noodles and beef. A little difficult to eat with long noodles, but worth the effort.

Had Easter dinner with a group of 8 of us. The service was outstanding and the food was delicious. I found them to be very accommodating and helped us with a large group ordering various things from the appetizer menu as well as the entree menu. Parking was easy and right at the door. They also have a small bar area that I have frequented. Clean and friendly establishment.

Good selection of Thai and Chinese ran by Thais. They aren't afraid to mix Thai flavors with local Maine ingredients. We had their Lobster Pad Thai and their Koa Soi, both were excellent.

We ordered crab rangoon and in a few of them the filling was frozen. They made us another batch which also had a couple that were cold in the middle. So then our entree of chicken pad thai came and the whole thing tasted burnt. Like something had scorched in the pan and it made the whole dish taste burnt. We also had to ask about our drinks 15 minutes after we ordered them. Totally disappointed.

Best Thai food in Maine. Always tastes fresh. Always delivered with no nonsense service. Swing in to really allow yourself the taste of Maine love that is Orchid Thai. Authentic style dishes cooked with expertise. I have not ventured into a dish I did not enjoy. Their specials are always just that.... Special... And their dishes are just straight flavorful and delicious looking. Worth a trip up to Falmouth if you are in the southern part of the state. They also get the job done with take out as well. Love Orchid Thai!

It's always a pleasure to visit Thai Orchid in Falmouth. I eat there probably weekly and it's consistently good experience. Thai Orchid is probably one of the best run restaurants in Falmouth and Yarmouth

Up scale Thai food in Portland. You can try the different Thai food that the other Thai place might not have. I recommended all the curry and the special menu which will available in different season. For the lady There is Lady night that you can get the good appetizer and special cocktail. You might need the reservation for Fri, Sat and Sun. They offer the togo order as well.
