We ate brunch at the Old Port Sea Grill and enjoyed fabulous entertainment. The food was mouthwatering delicious and the entertainment, Drag Queen Cherry Lemonade, was awesome! We Highly recommend this restaurant. Great host and great wait staff as well! Victoria and Jo

Lovely place to have a bite to eat if you’re in Portland, ME. We ordered the calamari, smoked salmon BLT, and fish tacos. Everything was fresh and flavorful. With each lunch dish, there were so many fries, I LOVED it. They were crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. My smoked salmon BLT and it came with so icy salmon. The meals were such a reasonable price for the location and the service was great. I would happily come back!

This place was recommended by a local, and we were not let down at all. The beer and wine list was well-curated, service was excellent, and the food was amazing. We started with crab cakes (very tasty, minimal filler, truffle aioli) and a Caesar salad (lemony anchovy dressing). Both were wonderful. Main course was fish and chips and the twin lazy lobster. The fish and chips were made with good fresh fish and cooked to perfection. Not greasy at all as some can be. The lobster, however, stole the show completely. Tender and delicately seasoned, it came surrounded by clams, fingerling potatoes, and green beans, all of which were delicious. The lobster was absolutely to die for, and I would recommend it to anyone. Far and away the best seafood we had during our stay in Portland. Thanks for the recommendation, Flash Gordon. We'll be back!

If you're going to pay that much for that amount of food, it better be good. This food was beyond bland. $73 for a lobster sandwich full of mayo and 4 pieces of lobster. A full lobster would have been cheaper. That and crab cakes was all we ordered and split between us. $73 of disappointment. There are plenty of other places around, go to any of those. The oysters were ok though.

Manny Pina

Excellent salad and mussels

Kelly Dyer

Excellent food and service

Mo P

Good raw bar. Fish and chips were meh but big portion. Chips were good. "Excuse me, may I order an X?" "I'll be right back to take your order." "... I guess I'm not getting X."

Mac Coldwell

This is where we've had our holiday dinner for work for the last few years. The hors d'oeuvre are usually my favorite part of the meal. Service is always excellent. There is a full bar. Parking is on street or you can park at one of the public parking garages/lots within walking distance.

Rosemary Thomas

Oh yes...just perfect! Oysters were to die for. Lobster Roll was fabulous. The Larger on tap was also delish. 10/10!

WOW, WOW, WOW! My wife and I picked the restaurant out randomly as we were waling around the Old Port. I cannot say enough about the food, atmosphere and staff. This is now my favorite place to dine when in town. Used to be the floating place but after my 2 meals here the other ship is sunk. My wife and I sat at the bar to catch a peek at the MNF game. We had the pan seared scallops with bamboo rice, a lobster roll and cup of clam chowder on our first visit. Everything was perfectly cooked and delicious. The bartender was attentive (but not overly attentive), knowledgeable and respectful of our space. Drinks were cold and served as expected. Our experience was so delightful that when my parents decided to join us the next day we chose the eat here again for a late lunch. Once again, from service to food it was on point. You absolutely get what you pay for here and more!!!!!!!! I spent 16 years in the culinary industry running restaurants and as would be expected, can be very difficult to completely leave me extremely satisfied. I will come back here EVERY time I am in the great state of Maine for sure.

we love the staff and the atmosphere. drinks are delicious. giant beautiful saltwater tank at the entrance. come one come all

Joseph Attah

Very friendly environment with fresh seafood. The server was great and the manager came to check on us. Great service.

Katrina Hughes

I left a 3 star review because I felt the price of the food while delicious was overpriced. The service was wonderful but the restaurant was loud and uncomfortable to eat in. We were seated between 2 big parties so the noise was very loud. I have had the same quality of food at different places in Portland and around Maine for much less.

craig billingham

The raw bar was full of clam shells and oysters that should not have been presented to a customer. The fish tacos were light on the fish and the waitress was not worth a good tip.

Vijay Alagarraj

Fresh seafood

Victor Toal

Good food for great price. A bit loud and the lights are a bit low, but that might just be my opinion. Great bar staff.

David Allie

Very pricey overrated garbage

Frank Fischer

The place is spacious and food is good, but it's so loud that I could not relax and really enjoy the stay. People less sensitive (or with heariing aids to turn off ;-) may see it different

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. IT'S BETTER TO WAIT IN LINE AT ONE OF THE AMAZING RESTAURANTS THAT ARE IN THE AREA. We had a terrible experience during our visit to the restaurant. It was our first visit to Portland, and for only a few hours, but we spent an hour and a half at the restaurant. This was due to the fact that our food took over an hour to reach our table. When we walked in, half of the restaurant was empty, and it was pretty quiet the entire time. People who came after us, left before us, and they had ordered similar items. It took half an hour to get our appetizers. When it was time to get our food, the manager brought it out and was rude. He told us that it takes time for the food to cook. Then he came back and said he would cover our beers. We ordered a lot of food, and we didn't care for his beers. He asked what he can do for us after that. If he's the manager, then he should know how to deal with situations like that. We weren't out to get free stuff, we wanted good food and never expected to wait so long. A lot of time wasted and the waitress was always rude and never apologized for the lateness. I have never met such rude wait staff, who tried to cover up the restaurant's errors. This restaurant was a time killer. Ruined our entire day.

Neal Schaffran

Over priced for average food. Went for happy hour and lobster and was less than impressed. Drinks were ok and the food was sub par for Maine. Maybe Portland is becoming more yuppy than I expected but this was something I’d experience in Chicago. Only thing saving the 2 stars was the service.

Quincy Milligan

Came here after we couldn't get in at some of the trendier places in town. Great atmosphere, lots of big windows overlooking commercial street. Service was great and the food was fantastic! I had the swordfish and my wife the salmon, both were fresh and cooked to perfection. The clam chowder was awesome too. Everything was fresh and artfully prepared. Best of all we didn't have to what three hours to get in.

Robert Harris

Excellent food! If you're visiting Portland don't miss this place.

Rui Pinto

We had lobster, Voodoo shrimp, lobster rolls and fish and chips and everythimg was delicious. We ate outside perfect weather. The service was amazing. Definetely going back. I do recommend old port sea grill and raw bar.

Patricia Guillen

Small, small portions. We are hungry. Friendly people but please cheat costumers with portions is a bad idea.

Erica Archer

Our had group an AMAZING dining experience at Old Port Sea Grill!! The food was so fresh and delicious, the wine list is awesome and not over priced, the service was just right, and the manager Justin was so nice to us and went out of his way to make sure we were having a great experience. I highly recommend! Can't wait to go back.

Jenn Rothy

Have always had a wonderful experience! Great ambience, fresh food, and friendly staff every time! Love the consistency!

Megan Thorson

Nice atmosphere in old port of portland. Great place to try lots of different types of seafood

Eugene Prentice

Old Port Sea Grill brings a well balanced dining experience like no other place in Town. It has so many options and amenities without making things complicated. Fabulous waterfront location, spacious seating, great window views, and a large beautiful bar, means it will work for so many people. Whether you want great food, or fabulous cocktails this place will delight you with a world class hospitality rarely seen. This effort is led by the Management style of Justin St Louis who has tremendous care for both the product and his customers. I have never had a meal here, whether it be lunch or dinner where I haven't been satisfied without feeling too full. Just the perfect balance.

Jon Parkinson

I had the lobster and it was excellent, however, my wife ordered the Pan Seared Halibut, and it was incredible. Easily the best I've ever had. Flavors explode in your mouth. In fact, after finishing my lobster, I helped her finish that Halibut.

Stacie Robbins

Beautiful meal, wonderful service and something for everyone in our party. We had the best seat on Commercial Street! Highly recommended. Remember, though, you pay for what you get. Worth it

Allen

I had the Voodoo Shrimp and it was amazing!

Jennifer Itzkoff

Great seafood!! Scallops were great and so was the lobster.

clayton johnson

Great service and food, comfortable atmosphere

Abby Waters

I love, love this restaurant. When I lived in Maine it was my place to stop at about once a week for some oysters and a cocktail up at the very beautiful bar area. I also loved their salads. I did enjoy the dining side, there is great seating, wonderful food, and amazing dessert. Staff has always been friendly and informative. Thank you.

david basque

what a lucky find for us!.......party of 9 ready to celebrate after the parkinson's bike ride in old orchard beach and our experience here could not have been better. from the moment we walked in and were greeted by the very capable front door host who calmly and professionally worked his magic to set us up with the perfect table to the terrific manager who made sure our evening went smoothly and deliciously to the very patient, efficient and friendly server it was exactly the evening we were hoping for. all nine of us give it two thumbs up and highly recommend it as THE go to place for a perfect evening out. thanks so much once again for keeping this rowdy group in check, well fed and leaving with smiles from ear to ear. we'll be back!

Abby Baker

Erik, the bartender, took great care of me. I started with a Bordeaux blend to go with my oysters which he recommended that the minerality of the wine would go perfectly with the Norumbega's. Then I ordered the tuna tartare which came with delicious north spore shiitakes and brown rice and a cherry citrus puree to round it all out. Overall wonderful experience.

Leon Morales-Quezada

Pricey but worth for a special dinner

Marc Wettstein

The food was decent, the waitress on the other hand didn't have her best day. Rather pricy.

Ashley Graham

LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the scallops! I could literally eat them all day! I wish I could have ordered them over the lobster! The clam chowder was also amazing! Nice atmosphere and friendly staff as well!

Brian Bamberger

I loved the oysters and meals were great. I loved my fish and my companions said their lobster was cooked perfectly. Nice views of the busy port with a contemporary decor.

Jeff Burns

I have been to several restaurants in the area during my stay and found that no one has better food than Old Port Sea Grill! Clam Chowder is to die for and the Halibut was amazing! If you're in the area, it's a must! The staff is very friendly and the restaurant is very clean. My compliments to the Chef and staff.

Patrick Sullivan

Very tasty lobster roll and fries. I think they may have updated their menu as I don't recall this place being quite this good a few years ago.

Stephen Klinges

Nice modern space, we sat at the large bar area with the big windows looking towards the bay. The clam chowder was fantastic, and they have really good happy hour specials from 3pm to 6pm! Know for their many fresh oysters options for $2.50 a pop during happy hour!

Frank M. LaMagra

Food and service was excellent.

Daniel Bureau

Mediocre food with high prices

Jerry Single

Great food and service.

Marilyn Potter

Extremely good meal Lobster with steam clams.

Alfonso Tejada

Great lobster and service!

connie Mills-wynne

Had a great meal with my husband and teenage son, booked a day in advance over the holiday period. We had a great bottle of Landmark chardonnay with lobster, scallops and shrimps, being seafood lover Food was fresh, tasty, presented beautifully and service was great.

J Zimmerman

Delicious oysters/raw bar and very tasty food. Decent gluten free options as well.

Laffinghyena

Nice menu, delicious food, GREAT beer! I added lobster to my salad. It was succulent and super tasty! It didn't need any seasoning or drawn butter. Heavenly! Service was wonderful also. Bar looked very inviting, but we were a bigger group, so sat in dining room. Love the big windows.

Mark Ohlson

Had a great time there a little wile back for a small casual wedding reception. The staff were friendly, the bubbly was cold and the vibe was classy. I felt like I got VIP treatment but it was just how they roll...

Eric Hatt

Service was excellent, food was delicious but not mind-blowing (except for the lava cake...that was just not fair). Scenery was very nice.

Andrew Knaider

Food wasn't that great. You'd expect more for the price.

Mark Beauregard

Good food always try and stop in when in town. Sorry my prior rating was in error. Definitely not 1 star!! Great experience.

Carmella Schultes

Nice server. Terrible food.

Nicole Miranda

OPSG is a one of a kind place. If you are looking for a place to sit outside, eat great oysters, look at fish, or even sit at the bar: OPSG is the place to be. A family friendly environment that makes you feel welcome. OPSG wouldn't be what it is if it wasn't for their Manager, Justin. He is such an impeccable worker with such a warm and welcoming vibe. I only come on Sundays for the oysters and to see his charming face (and style)!

Graham Porell

Excellent service, food and drinks in a great location in the Old Port. Loved the Lobster Pasta dish. Suggested wine pairings also excellent. Will definitely come back!

Jessica Kay

Pretty sure the scallops here are the best I've ever had! Everything was delicious and the server was friendly and helpful with recommendations from the menu. Drinks were refreshing and well made. Will definitely be going back next time we're in town!

David Singer

Only went once, but go during happy hour: half off draft beers and 1.00 off oysters. A variety of Delicious, fresh oysters that range in flavor; reasonably priced wines to pair. A great stop for tourists downtown M-F. Great beers, great oysters, great wine, great service, comfortable atmosphere— I don’t know what else can be asked! Q

Jason Humm

Recommended by the folks at Inn by the Sea. And what a place. Quiet lunch on a Sunday. Warm welcome and great service. Fish and chips were perfect--crispy outside, flakey inside. Wife's whole lobster was cooked perfectly.

Ali Sheikh

We went here to check the menu and talk to the staff how the food is prepared. Since we only eat halal... sea food ous grilled on the same grill as other meat. Therefore we had to pass on it :(. But the manager was very nice, talked to us and gave ideas on how he could accommodate us by preparing pan seared fish. This place gets crowded so do make reservation a head of time.

Hayden Ramsey

Decent food, but much too expensive for what it is. Service was good. The restaurant was a bit dark, hard to see what was on your plate at times.

Doug Smith

Had the wine and food pairing they did for Portland Wine Week and their chef is amazing! I couldn't imagine the food without the wine or the wine without the food, and how perfect is that?

sam tarbox

Really enjoy sitting at the bar for fresh oysters and drinks.

David Ferrer

Had the fish and chips and they were great. Service was quick and friendly. Overall enjoyable experience.

justin caputo

This place is my hands down favorite spot in Portland right now. Start to finish the food was amazing. From the fresh bread to the voodoo shrimp. I look forward to my next visit.

Sungjin Kim

I live in Boston, but lobster was not the same. Maine lobster here rules!

Madison Watkins

Ate here for lunch about a week ago, and the fish and lobster were probably the freshest I've ever had in my life. I had the fish and chips and my boyfriend had the lobster roll. Both were amazingly prepared, and we were given great service during our time there. We finished off with the blueberry white chocolate cheesecake, and it was absolutely delicious. This place is a bit higher in price, but definitely worth it for the quality you are receiving.

Stacey Smith

Amazing service and amazing food.

Victoria Roth

Oysters we're so fresh. Butternut squash soup was also delicious

Michael S

I hadn't been back here for a few years. No reason why, just exploring the various locations in and around Portland. Was pleasantly surprised with coming back. My girlfriend and I sat at the bar and enjoyed some very delicious mussels and of course a couple of yummy happy hour cocktails. Great service and delicious food and drinks. Liked the dim lighting too with the salt water aquariums as back lighting. Very cool & spacious ambiance too!

the ones

We had excellent service and s great meal!

Robin Alexander

Great drinks & they did an awesome job with food accommodations for my Vegan diet!

Dorothy Sieradzki

Very nice place for lunch.

TGeorge Walkden

All four of us found the food fantastic, service very good and like the ambience. Only negative was the weird butter mix, and suggested they stick to the real thing or better yet offer olive oil.

O'Frida Scott

Great food and pleasant servers!!

Mike Wescott

In the five years I’ve been in Portland OPSG has been a wonderfully solid place to which I’ve taken family and friends on many occasions and always had a great time. Ownership, management, staff and food, all superb. I recommend the establishment often from the bar I manage in the Old Port and have heard nothing but positive reviews coming back from my guests upon their return. The location is prime, the patio catches the sun and gives a great view of the bustling waterside strip, and if you’re a sweaty beast like me, the lounge is nice and cool.

Alison Pickwick

Food tasted good. First off the oysters came out and one of them looked...empty. As if someone had eaten half the oyster, so we sent it back and they quickly brought out a nice clean one. It was great. The servings were very small for the price (two crab cakes for $17, and a lobster roll for $25) and food came out so slowly! We only wanted to spend an hour, but the meal ended up taking two an a half hours. I think if things were quicker we would have had a better time but we spent most of the time wondering when our food was coming.

Aa Ja

A delicious food and an outstanding services.

Cindy Rounds

Prices very high, tourist trap... We are local foodies .....and decided to venture down to commercial street and try Old Port Sea Grill. The oysters are .50 more expensive at OPSG compared to most places throughout ptld where you can get raw oysters for 2.75-3.00/each or less. Service was fantastic, friendly and fast! The drinks were $10-12/each, which is also really high considering it was happy hour. The atmosphere is good, but definitely not as high end as Fore St, Street & Co, Evo, Emilista, or Grace. The entrees were wonderful and we all enjoyed our actual dinners, but again, pricier than most other places we've been comparatively with size of entree. Not bad, but we'd likely not return with more 'locally minded' places we can go.

Teresa Lin

Tasty food

Dylan Siegert

Bloody Mary's are really spicy so be ready for that, all other mixed drinks are as expected and served in a timely manner. Don't really need reservations for the bar but would recommend if you want to sit in the dinning area with 4 or more people [especially near weekends]. Waitress was super friendly, knowledgeable and patient. DELICIOUS.

Roy Ashley

Great location and outstanding food.

Joe Twer

Delicious fish dishes, warm bread with smoked salmon and chive spread yum

Kyle A. Labrozzi

Very expensive, underwhelming food staff was apathetic..... fresh bar was good but oysters speak for themselves

Adrienne Kolb

Yummy oysters, salads, good bar, good service

Kevin Rimlinger

Great happy hour.

Denise Lee

Would recommend can't wait to come back to Maine and come here again!!! Amazing food!!! Amazing Customer Service!!!

Nancy Edwards

Lisa Berry

Great food friendly staff

Susanna Lajoie

Great experience - both food and service were exceptional!

Barbara Schultz

We love this place! Fabulous crab cake and calamari appetizers. The lobster pasta is not to be believed! Our server, Ambassador Blair:) was the best ever. Blueberry cheesecake dessert was the bomb!

Tim Kowalski

Great food, and service, loud atmosphere...

Jeff Storms

Great staff. GOOD FOOD

Def Static

Busy place with solid seafood. Clam chowder leaves something to be desired but 4 stars for the crab cakes and whole belly clams. Fresh cut fries. Good staff.

Angelique La

One of the best sea food restaurants I have been to in a while. It changed my experience in Maine for the better. It's a must-try for sure! You're going to love it.

Kristen Phillips

Just incredible! The oyster medley from all the different regions is definitely remarkable along with the impeccable service courtesy of Justin the GM! I recommend this place a thousand times over, it is perfectly delectable. 5 stars for sure. :)

HJ Yang

The food was good, the service was not. The server was rude and attending. Unfortunately I will never be going back to this restaurant again. I've tried to speak to management but they too clearly don't care as they have the volume to make up for any unhappy customers.

Paul White

Always a pleasure to stop by, fantastic oysters, the happy hour is one of the best deals in the city.

Brian Rachele

A no brainier! We couldn't stand the wait at Js Oysters so we went here on a whim and got right in. This place has the same type of food, but was much roomier and with nice views of fish. Great beer selection too! The service was great too, our waitress was bubbly and attentive. We joined the clean plate club!

Matt Stone

I've never been disappointed when I've eaten here. The food is amazing, the service is prompt and friendly, the prices are reasonable for one of the nicer restaurants in Portland. It's one of the few restaurants that has a neutral vibe, meaning you could stop in for a nice lunch, go there for a date night, or have a family dinner. It just works. Great place!

Maureen Linehan

Went here for our last meal in Portland. Very nice ambiance with a fish tank facing the main dining room to enjoy. They wanted to seat us in the front window but we asked to sit in the bar area that seemed a bit more private and not as bright. Theh were happy to oblige. We started out with cocktails that were pretty great, given the limited bourbon/whiskey selection they had. We had an old fashioned and an Old Port Sour. After eating all the seafood we could over 2 days, we couldn't leave town without having a lobster roll. We swapped out the standard fries for a ceaser salad, which came with optional anchovies. If offered, you must accept the anchovies. They really do elevate the salad to another level. The salad was lemony and garlicky and I believe they were housemade croutons. A nice change from fries. The lobster arrived on a soft buttery roll, with huge chunks of lobster topped with perfect claw meat. There was very little treatment of the lobster, which I enjoyed. No one wants a lobster roll full of mayo and chopped veg. You want to taste the lobster and the ocean and that's what we got. Excellent! It was market price and comparable to most other restaurants we had been in. Instead of dessert we opted for more cocktails before realizing we were the last people in the restaurant. The staff was great, they waited patiently while we chatted and enjoyed our drinks. Never mentioned that they were closing. They even provided directions to our next stop. The restaurant is kid friendly and has something on the menu for everyone. I wouldn't hesitate to return.

Jeff Hosman

Best oysters in all of the old Port area.!!

Ruby DeRosa-Doubleday

The service is always awesome here! I love always seeing the same familiar faces behind the bar, and the servers are always happy to be there. Great happy hour

Yaoyu Yang

The food is great but the service could be greatly improved. This place offers no high chair for little kids and it's a bit disappointing.

Andrew Loya Jr

AMAZING...A "must go to" place!!

Mark Rouintree

The food is great!!! Try the clam chowder and lobster roll. Good beers on tap as well.

Ian Provencher

INCREDIBLE raw bar.

Bill Liu

This restaurant at the Portland seafront makes good seafood like lobster rolls and pasta

Charles Rizzo

food was cooked perfect, presentation was attractive, service good however, i only rate 3 stars as the acoustics are terrible. was not that busy when we visited and we had to shout to speak to each other. unpleasantly loud.

Ryan Lohrenz

Food was good but not great and the atmosphere was a bit lacking.

James W

Very good food ,comfortable and friendly services,$$$ a little higher thenaverage.

Laura Sosnowski

If you are looking for a “Cheers” feeling in Portland, Maine, this is the place. Step up to the bar and enjoy yourself!! Anytime I go in after work, Justin St Louis know exactly what I want, his customer service is outstanding!!! The office has gone in for lunch and everything was awesome! Food, drinks, atmosphere, service, are ALL outstanding anytime of the day! If I could give 10 stars I would! Justin and Laura - I’m so glad you brought the salmon spread back!! Thank you!

David Lemieux

Average clam chowder - would not order again. A little pricey for the quality received. Somewhat disappointing after a great lumch received a day earlier.

Michael Hitz

Always an enjoyable experience and the food is great. It's my go to for entertaining clients for lunch. Justin, in particular, is incredibly welcoming and always makes me and my guests feel like VIPs... remembering my preferences, etc. My friends and I love the bar for happy hour and they are always very accommodating to our group. Yes, customer service still exists in Portland!

Randy Dorsey

Awesome atmosphere food okay

jake mc

I eat here alot love the food and the people !

Jodistra Dykstra

The food was very good and so was the service. The prices are high and I am ok with that but the overall experience has to be spot on. My 3 stars is the result of visiting the ladies room prior to leaving the restaurant, it was absolutely filthy! I felt like I went from fine dining to college bar in a matter of seconds. It did not leave a good final impression on me.

Debbie DeAngelis

Food was cooked to perfection, prices to high for such small portions.

Stephanie Church

Best lobster roll ever!

Derek L

I was not impressed with this place. I had much better lobster down the road at portland lobster company which was cheaper and had a fun atmosphere.

John LeBlanc

Great oyster. Fun environment.

David Rush

I love the Old Port Sea Grill! They serve some of the best seafood, and the atmosphere is exquisite! I nearly always eat there when I am in the area, and I reccomend that you do too!

Julie C

Food was good, wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable, nice ambiance, love the saltwater fish tank.

Anna Engler

Amazing ambiente and food. For any budget -great fish and chips for 18$, unique tastey deliciouse lobster pasta for 33$ - you can find something amazing. The raw bar oysters were so fresh i thought i still hear the waves. The clam chowder was exceptionally good. The service was really good. And if you still have some room at the end... the salted caramel ice cream... yummy. We were 4 people, 4 appetizers and 4 entrees with alcoholic drinks and paid ~190$ before tip. Great personal and service!

Matthew Johnson

Raw bar was great!!
