The service was good as was the Matterhorn Ski beer but the food was not. The Cedar plank salmon was dry and over over cooked and the leeks were burnt. I had the Beet Salad (new to menu) the beets were from a can/jar but the added chicken was grilled ok. Will not come back.

Service was friendly and timely, food quality was poor. Mashed potatoes were instant box potatoes. Loaded nachos were just chips with cheese, hardly a topping to go around. Ambiance was too loud between the music and kids yelling. Straw wrappers from the loft floated down onto our table several times. Reminded me of being at chuck e cheese. Prices are high. Plates are 20-30 bucks, apps 15.

Food was mediocre, Deserts were great. The environment was very relaxed and fun, live music multiple TVs and great visuals also had a bar. Although with a group of 9 it took around an hour to get food, but that may have been due to the fact it was a Saturday night and packed. Overall a great place to go for casual dinner or just to hang out for a family night out.

Did have a good experience at the Matterhorn Ski Bar. Our server was friendly and attentive and timed our appitizers and entrees perfectly so my wife and I didn't feel rushed. For those of your with gluten allergies like my wife and me, Matterhorn makes a phenomenal gluten free pizza plenty of fresh toppings and the dough was perfect soft with a crunch. The Matterhorn has a great ski log cabin atmosphere both cozy and energetic. Only downsides were hearing fron the bartender who would not make my wife another chocolate martini because it was too busy and the prices were a bit high but the food was good. A little over a $100 for drinks and food for two. Wouldn't mind going back again for the GF pizza

If you are tempted by the decor and the intriguing location, you would be better off bringing a camera to the restaurant than your appetite. The food was bad, and the (food not bar) service was even worse. The co-owner Patrice is heinous and she has no idea how to manage and train her employees. We confronted her about our food after waiting an HOUR, and she stormed away. This type of sensitivity has no place in the restaurant business. Don't waste your time, and your hard earned money in this place.

NOTHING BUT CROOKS! The bar thugs waited until immediately AFTER I had purchased a drink (I forgot my i.d., but was with my father, mother, and younger sister who all presented their i.d.s and vouched for me) to i.d. me and kick me out of the bar, leaving my full and (mediocre) paid for drink behind. Nothing but a scam, I advise you to take your money elsewhere or be in for a bad time.

Went in here for the first time this weekend. Kinda divey, pretty awesome, packed. We just had a beer and watched some Olympic curling. Food smelled good. Place is huge, like an old barn. I liked it a lot and will definitely be back. Seems like a locals spot (and everyone else) for sure!

The ultimate Ski Bar experience in the North East. The bar staff is friendly, the food is great, and they have a wood fire oven for amazing pizza, nachos and garlic knots. If you're going to be getting a season pass at Sunday River I highly recommend you join the mug club at the Matterhorn, it's a great program and you will earn your money back pretty quickly

Atmosphere is boisterous and great for families in the dining rooms. Bar is lively and full on apre ski. Food was a B- and I’m being generous. Family of four out the door for $135 inc tax and tip. No dessert. 2 beers and a red wine. Do not for a second fall for the two paragraph “we went to Naples and therefore can make good pizza” on their website. Complete garbage. Family was actually discussing which frozen pizzas we’ve had lately that were better on the way home. We named a bunch. Caesar salad was great. Ribs decent. Pot Pie good. Maybe since we just got back from Italy, or have eaten Frank Pepi, or Grimaldi we are jaded. But this pizza sucked. Sorry Matterhorn. Everything else was decent and the place is quite fun. Update 3/30/18. Take a pass. Super fun environment. But don’t come for the food. Gave it a second chance. Skipped he pizza. I think my kid drank $20 worth of root beer the waiter suggested when he first ordered a free refill coke. Didn’t tell us it was 3.75 a glass. Thanks. French Onion soup was cold with about 8 ounces of mozzarella and salad croutons dropped in it. How do you screw that up? Anyway. Fun place but food sucks.

Fun place, reminds me of some ski bars out west. Lots of character in both the decor and the menu. Great wood fired Pizza and a nice selection of ice cold beer (quite a few are Maine brews too) It can get a little rowdy (in a good way) on the weekends after 9, depending on the band. Overall, this place rules, I only wish they were open in the warmer months.

Ordered fish and chips, batter was thick and tasted really bad, couldn't finish it. Pizza was "ok" but doesn't live up to all the other reviews I read. Really disappointed with the service and overall food quality. Nacho avalanche on the other hand was really good and live music helped the atmosphere.

Manager wouldn't honor his own "mug club" discounts offered by his restaurant. Happy to take my money at full price but not on the discount price that was available to me with the mug club loyalty program. Irrefutable customer service I would never go back. Food is crap too, how do you f up a pizza? Absolutell garbage.

Hostess I think name was Brenda was not very hospitable ask for seating for party of 8 which she had would not seat us till other 2 showed then when they did she gave table away obviously by her attitude to custermor and fellow worker's having a bad night when you go there 2 or 3 times a year and spend 4 to 5 hundred I and my guest expect a more pleasant and helpful hostess that being said love the place and was first bad experience so it will not keep me from returning everything else and employees were awesome

Top quality ingredients, homemade sauce with great flavor, toppings and 3 cheese blend cover the ENTIRE thin crust, and the brick oven gives it a final boost of flavor. They know pizza, and you should know them!

The whole experience left us feeling very satisfied! The pizza; spinach, both grilled mushrooms & chicken was the best yet locally I've tried. The atmosphere was both local and Sunday River patrons having a great time. The live music was excellent, and definately a memorable experience... A definate 2nd and 3rd time destination!
