We stopped here on our way back to our RV after a day of hiking in Acadia National Park. Beers were cold, tasty and reasonably priced. We also had the wings and a half slab of ribs. We've eaten a lot of wings and a lot of ribs and these were both excellent. The wings were grilled, which we prefer over fried, and the ribs were tender and flavorful. The atmosphere is a typical restaurant bar casual setting. We definitely recommend Mainely Meet BBQ ay Atlantic Brewery.

These guys have the dining out experience dialed in. Playground, corn hole, live music, brewery. We were able to relax and enjoy ourselves with a 6 and 2 y/o The prices are all perfectly reasonable and the BBQ is solid. Our best dinner out while visiting Acadia.

On the mark! Once in a while you want to indulge in smoky, savory, tender barbeque. I'm talking about meat! It doesn't really matter what species; pork, beef, or chicken will work, or maybe all of them. Besides hungry, you worked or played hard and you are thirsty for good ale too. Go to Mainely Meat. Very relaxed open air setting. Good for families. Large portions and very reasonable prices. Friendly, competent staff and not too long a wait for food and drink. There is a little playground for kids and cornhole for all ages.

I have been eating at Mainely Meats for a number of years and have always enjoyed the food an atmosphere. However, this evening was an terrible experience. The waitress was very brusque in the beginning and did not listen to the initial order. Food was still good, but then we were double charged for the order (I expect mistakes, and this may have been forgiven if it wasn't for everything else). Meanwhile an ordered beer was never served and we could no longer get the attention of our waiter. When we finally did get the bill straightened around, we were berated for ordering food before drinks, and told that from now on we are to order drinks first. Needless to say we probably won't be back even after all of our previously good experiences.

Excellent BBQ sandwich, just the way I like it! Toasted Texas toast without the BBQ mixed in with the meat. I like to put my own sauce on. The hot sauce mix was just right! Glad we stopped. The place was a little off road but highly recommended by Bar Harbor Manor where we are staying. Loved the place too!

Amazing BBQ, fast service, nice informal setting. Went twice on our honeymoon. Both times were excellent. A lot of food at an good price unlike a lot of MDI. Got the sampler one night an the rib special the next. Meat fell off the bone if you picked it up to quickly. Amazing place and it's part dot the brewery so it has good beer and even soda. Well worth the stop.

Absolutely fantastic barbecue and beer, I recommend the sampler plate. Definitely a great place to eat in Bar Harbor for those of us that don't like seafood. Due to their open seating policy you do have to make sure a waiter/waitress knows you are there when you first come in. However, as long as you understand that you will have excellent service.

We received a great tip from a couple who had frequented this restaurant that I would like to pass on to future patrons "As a couple, order the sampler to split. Only rookies order one for each person!" Wow were they right! The sample included pulled pork, ribs, chicken, sausage, baked beans, cole slaw and potato salad. And I'm not just saying samples of those meats. There was a full italian sausage, at least 1/2 pulled pork meat, half of a chicken breast, and a half slab of ribs! Each of the sides were at least a half of a cup. It was almost more food than both my husband and I could conquer!! (Oh, and the meal came with corn bread!) And every morsel was delicious. To add to this amazing meal was the blueberry soda! YUM! I believe this soda was brewed on the spot, and it rocks. My favorite part of this dinner: the sampler platter was only fifteen bucks. Hands down the cheapest meal we had on MDI. And one of the very best!! After enjoying our meal at Mainly Meats, we headed over for the brewery tour and tasting at Atlantic Brewery (same owners, next door). The tour was exceptionally crowded and I didn't hear much of what he said, but from what I could hear the young man giving the tour did seem very excited and knowledgeable about the products and how they're made. It was very interesting to hear and see what a small building can produce!! The brew tasting was very much our favorite part of the tour. With five beers to try and two sodas, it lasted quite awhile and was so much fun. I discovered I am NOT an IPA person, but I loved their blueberry ale! If you like beer at all, even just a little, this stop is absolutely worth it!

Tried the sampler, which includes ribs, pork BBQ, sausage and all the sides. Everything was excellent! Two people could easily share one sampler, as it was massive. The beers from the adjacent Atlantic Brewing are served very cold and the selection is great. This is a great spot for a brew and a bite to eat after hiking in Acadia.

Liked it so much we tried out the other location, where we realized this brewery location's menu is somewhat more limited. That said, we found the food here to be superior.

If you like smoked meats, if you like barbecue and mouth watering sauces this is the place for you. The food, ribs and chicken are literally fall off the bone deliciously amazing!!!! The pulled pork and sausages we equally amazing!!! I would add the in house locally brewed beers from their brewery were unbelievably good and the assortment met the varied needs of seven truly beer drinkers. Making it perfect was the awesome staff who were fantastic!!!

Coming here is a family tradition on every trip to Bar Harbor, and for good reason. Tucked in the back at Atlantic Brewing Company is this location of Mainely Meat. Service is friendly, helpful and more than accommodating, there's a good amount of space with large tables, and most importantly the food and drink is tasty. I started off with a fresh pint of beer. Being that this place is located at Atlantic Brewing Company, I mean fresh when I say it. I don't exactly remember what I got on my latest visit, but chances are good that it was a Blueberry Ale. As for food, I went with The Sampler - a heaping plate of pulled pork, chicken, ribs, sausage, and all of the sides. For the price, this is A LOT of food, and very good food at that. Everything was cooked right and flavorful. I left more than full and happy, as I always do here. Like I said earlier, there's a reason this place is one of our must visit restaurants.

Been here many times. I still say it's some of the best BBQ in America (excluding Texas because that's not a fair comparison). Really fast and friendly service, and the fact that there's a brewery next door doesn't hurt. Try the Cole Porter - goes great with anything on the menu.

5 stars, without a doubt 5 stars. This is some of the best BBQ ribs I have ever had. I have had BBQ in Kansas City, and St. Louis and Mostly Meat was better. The ribs were tender and juicy. I loved the sauce on both the chicken and ribs. I did not care for the potato salad but the baked beans out of this world. This should definitely be your first stop when you're in Bar Harbor Maine, trust me it's better than the lobster.

The food is always great. Short menu and you can't go wrong with anything. If you are sensitive to seasonings including chili and jalepeño peppers, steer away from the baked beans. Atlantic Brewing Co is on the same grounds and they are my favorite brewery. I wait all year to visit and stock up on beer I can't get in New Jersey. Definitely a mandatory stop when on MDI

Not recommended if your children actually like BBQ they don't offer kids portions of BBQ just burgers dogs, chicken fingers etc. Stopped here because the family loves BBQ. Read the menu & the kids menu had no BBQ on it so we asked if they could make a kids pulled pork sandwich & they said no. They had hamburger buns & they hate pulled pork, why not? We left every other restaurant I have been to is happy to accomodate special requests.

Amazing BBQ co located with the Atlantic brewing micro brew. You can enjoy great BBQ along with fresh Atlantic brews! Venue is not fancy but who cares when they are serving this quality of food. This is always my first stop for a meal after setting up camp at Acadia Park. Would recommend the sampler plate but you may want to split with another if not a really big eater.

Food was a 5, service was a 3. I get the seat yourself, but it took 15 minutes to get our drinks and order in and we only saw our waitress when she brought the meal. Ordered the shredded pork dinner, and my wife got the half a chicken. Both were excellent, with the exception of the potato salad, which was as bland as I imagine it is possible to make potato salad. Added bonus was the kids play area, which my kids loved and was much better letting them run while the food was cooking.

The ribs have a wonderful "bark" on them (technical term for the crust for this style of dry barbeque) and were so tasty I didn't even think of covering them with the standard barbeque sauce. Had the sampler platter which also included chicken, sausage, and pulled pork. Cornbread, cole slaw, and beans were standard sides. This was their Ellsworth location.

I love BBQ food, so I enjoyed eating here...however I've had a lot better BBQ. Like Atlantic's beer quality, I would say Mainely Meat was a decent place. The food was good but it didn't stand out to other BBQ I've had. Meat was a bit on the dry side except for the pulled pork. It's great that they have a partnership with Atlantic for some decent beer selection to go with it. Good place to go in the summer and to sit outside.

Honest, good quality BBQ in a humble setting. Highly recommended. A local suggested we eat here on our last night visiting Bar Harbor. The restaurant is tucked away inside an Atlantic Brewing Co location on a side road. The business model for the brewery appears to be to have a food purveyor located within the brewery; the site in downtown BH has a burger joint in it. The setting is pretty basic, essentially a Biergarten with a kitchen attached. The food was outstanding. The sampler ( for about $16) had healthy portions of ribs, pulled pork, chicken and a giant piece of smoked sausage. And sides of slaw, beans and potato salad. Watch out for the corn bread, it has a jalapeño in the center! There was almost too much food and all of it was excellent. There are hot dogs and burgers for the less hungry or adventurous. My party of four was out the door, bellies filled for $50. One of the best meals on the island.

They were just okay, but Mainely Meat really delivered on some amazing BBQ, probably the best meal we had while in town. Also, being attached to Atlantic Brewing really sold it for us.
