As you can read, it reaches an feddbacks average is almost the best, and it's based on a very large number of scores, so we may conclude that the assessment is very accurate. If many people have bothered to leave their feddback when they've done well with the service, it works.

REVIEWS OF Long Grain IN Maine

Sean Sutherland

A truly engaging menu with a bounty of drink options. Do not skip on the wings or the pork dumpling appetizers. Everything my group had was delicious, get there as soon as they're open or call ahead for a reservation as there isn't a huge dining area.

Neil Granims

Awesome

Khurram Faizan

Impossible to get in. Food was very salty. This restaurant is full of attitude that does not make up for the taste or quality of the food they serve. Service was poor and inattentive. Don't fall for the hype.

Alissa Hessler

Best Thai food ever. Seriously.

Lucas Smalley

Hands down the best food around, relaxing environment, and really friendly staff to top it off. It is the only place I will go around the midcoast on the rare occasion I eat out.

Kelly Brackett

Wow spicy stir fry with pork belly and greens, amazing and filling! Great for lunch!

Jordan Batschi

Wonderful food, good prices, needs a better location, too noisy and off putting decoration. Make a reservation

Jacob Sagrans

Great food in Camden. Small place that can get crowded.

Lee Mataya

What a cute asian inspired restaurant. Limited menu but in this case it makes sense cause everything looked so good a bigger menu would have made it hard to pick something. If you like ramen and kimchi get their ramen. I also got the spring rolls which were super fresh and yummy. The don't skimp on portions. If you are in the area, stop by but YOU NEED to probably make a RESERVATION.

AMAZING FOOD!!!!!!! great tiny place full of life!

Torey Whitman

Fantastic farm to table

Maritha Archer

Small restaurant with amazing food

Blair Johnson

Amazing food and beer list, but forgot our appetizer entirely. Like most restaurants that cater to tourists mostly, seem to put little effort into service, but can't miss the food!

Bill Robinson

Great for lunch

Srivaths Sankaran

(Ate here in June 2017) It has a hole-in-the-wall place kinda appearance. Starting with the total lack of signage -- I mean none. You think you have the right address but don't know if you should go in. Went in next door to the coffee shop and they confirmed with a laugh that the restaurant we were looking for was next door! Food is really well cooked and nicely seasoned. Prices are reasonable -- on a Camden-scale. Portion sizes were kind of on the large side. We ordered 2 meals and shared among 3 people. I would definitely revisit on my next trip to Camden.

Dan Von Kohorn

Great Thai street food in beautiful Camden Maine.

Steve Ryan

Crowded with OK food, but very nice staff.

gary smith

Inedible dumplings and a very poor stir fried chicken. Truly the worst Thai food I have had in the USA, and I eat at Thai places a whole bunch.

Afton Hupper

Terrible service, and the food was ambitious but poorly executed. There was sand in our spring rolls (from the cilantro that had been poorly rinsed, if at all) and our soup was extremely spicy to the point where we couldn't taste any other flavors. We brought these concerns to the server who did not offer any compensation for these meals, she in fact told us to "come back another time." It's a shame that our experience was poor, because we definitely won't return. In general the food is overpriced, the management is pretty terrible and the place is dumpy.

Peter Lee

Fantastic food.

Amanda Harvey

Mixed feeling about this place. It must have moved locations or been updated, it wasnt a dump as others have called it. The food was more like thai fusion or thai inspired (I've never had kale in pad ki mao). I understand they try to use local ingredients, but it took away from the dish a little bit, and some key veggies in pad ki mao were missing. The flavor was still very good and the serving size was perfect. My biggest issue is the wait. We arrived around 1:20pm in the afternoon, sat and ordered, and didnt get our appetizer (a salad) until 1:50pm. It took over 25 minutes for a salad?? We then got our food after another 15/20 minutes. Waiting around for almost an hour before you get your main dish is a little ridiculous. It wasnt even busy. Like many others have said, the servers weren't super friendly either. Our server was nice enough, but it just wasn't a friendly atmosphere.

Tanner Paladino

Had the tofu pad thai. Was very good, and not expensive! Thank you

Daniel Swanson

Ordered take out and it was good Thai food. Not my favorite but not bad either

Brendan Meagher

Best of Camden.

Tod Bramble

The best place to eat in Maine's Mid-Coast. Make a reservation so you are sure to have a spot. Go for lunch and come back for dinner. Their new location is a marvelous update

Nick Wilson

Destination-worthy restaurant. The new location is bigger to accommodate the many devoted, hungry fans coming to Camden for great Asian cuisine

Dana Jenner

It's not really Thai food, think Asian Fusion. The food is fabulous. I can cook most of what we eat when out, maybe not quite as good, but not what Long Grain does. I couldn't do one of their saucees ever and that's part of the alur. Absolutely superb food here. Get the Pad Ke Mao if you're undecided, you can't go wrong.

Luke Smith

Yummy

Leigh Kluberdanz

Good food and service.

Passing Through

Perfect, fresh, delicious. I laughed at the "it came from my dreams comment" below... But they were right! Be sure to make reservations as the place books up quickly and there isn't room for standing around.

Kevin S

Lunch- small, busy at 11:30; friendly staff Pork Dumplings, coconut soup, pad see ew Fantastic.

Max Davis

Phenomenal. The smoky, toothy wide noodles. The tangy yet not too spicy kim chee and pork belly. The boldly fishy and delicious smoked mackerel fried rice. One of my favorites in the US!

Crystal McKeever-Taylor

Fanhao Yang

A nice selection of delicious street food style Asian dishes, ranging from Thai, Korean, Chinese, etc.

Tim Kelly

Most disrespectful rude bar tender to vegetarians I ever experienced...I say bartender since she was who took our order, after ignoring us for nearly 10 minutes standing there. Then acts like its so much trouble to make a vegetarian meal in a Thai restaurant...tells us we cant even get a drink because we are not sitting (as there were no open seats). We felt so unwelcome and uncomfortable that after we waited forever for our meal we decided to just leave as my girl was nearly in tears due to the way this so called "server' made her feel. Being a vegetarian is about compassion, too bad we got none from Long Grain...Will NEVER return and we WILL spread the word. To the bar tender...GO GET LAID.

Equinox Guiding Service

We love eating here. It is hads down the best restaurant in town. After a day of rock climbing its great relax with freinds and eat some yummy food!

Myles Roberson

Everything we ordered was delicious! Luckily we got in without a reservation! (Lunch)

Rachel Ann Davis

Amazing food - you wouldn't expect to find fantastic Thai/Asian food in Maine (at least I didn't), but was pleasantly surprised. Pork dumpling appetizers were delicious, and you can't go wrong with anything else on the menu either. You can tell the food is made from scratch using high-quality ingredients - yum! Quick tip we learned the hard way - call & make a reservation or you likely won't be able to get in :)

FINLEY WYNTERS HIKES

Made reservations a day ahead of time for my 50th Birthday. Drove 1.5 hours only to receive a call as we are just getting out of the car, that they are closing for the day because they have no dishwasher. Poor customer service. I saw a few days before online that they were looking for someone to hire If that's the case, don't take the reservation when people call ahead of time. Ruined our day. I would absolutely NEVER go back here.

Jen Brimmage

This is some of the best Thai food I've had in a very long time. The hostess and waitress were friendly, and the atmosphere what's relaxed and pleasant. Prices were fair and the portions were large.

Jennifer Prushko

Wow. Simply wow. Amazing thai, fresh ingredients and warm service. An absolutely perfect meal!

Jim Mohler

Hidden in plain sight. This is a very small restaurant with no sign outside. It sits right between Zoot Coffee and Rite-Aid and offers limited seating and carry out. While many folks think of it as Thai Cuisine the owners offer a broader array of Asian food. They have a nice website for more information.

Connie Linhart

Fabulous food

Owen Cauley

house made noodle. Pad see yew, and pad kee mao are both delicious.

Bruce Jordan

Best Asian Food! You will not be disappointed.

James Cosby

Great thai

Jim Patterson

Made reservations for table, waited quite awhile while apparently known to them walk-ins were seated before us. Then informed our seats are at the bar that was open when we got there. Only recourse for poor service is to vote with your feet and $ elsewhere. To clarify I have eaten at thier old location a few years ago. Food was ok thought try them again at new location. Nice new space night and day from old. But service would have hoped for more.

Walter Vernon

Awesome Asian fusion style food in a cozy environment at a very reasonable price!

Sophie Jackson

For reals, the best Thai food I've ever had!! So incredibly fresh + flavorful. The only negative was that we had to wait quite a while for our food - but unless you're on a lunch break, the wait is well worth it!! I would happily wait for this amazing food any day. Excellent service and cool, funky location too. I wish I lived in Camden so I could eat there a few times a week!!

E Cunningham

Great food and service. Very loud though.

Dakota Hewlett

Best Asian food I have ever had! Made by hand with perfect spices and sauces!

Stephen Thompson

This place is a hole in the wall... peeling wallpaper, not even the name of the restaurant visible outside... but the food is AMAZING. We had the spicy chicken with Thai basil.. I had the noodles, the wife had the rice. They were very different but outstanding! The restaurant is *very* small... Reservations are a really good idea.

Laura Pessolano

Amazing! Homemade noodles, top 10 Thai!

Sarah Lepoff

Excellent meal, slightly loud location. Very nice little Asian market attached.

Scott Pearson

Best Thai food in New England. It's extraordinary!

Virginia Lee

New space is bright with an Asian market attached. We had fish paste fried rice and the crispy curry whole fish specials last night. Both were phenomenal. Sat at the bar and the owner was our server. We can't say enough about how great this place is! The take out line is continuous.

B W

New, larger space but same fresh/delicious food & really friendly staff

Brittany Wilcox

Do not eat here if you are celiac, have a gluten sensitivity or any food allergy at all. They will not accomodate. I have celiac disease and when i asked them about cross contamination, the woman became very cocky and replied with "Well, you won't die will you?" If we are going to draw the line at death then you really need to be more educated about the food industry. A simple no would have been just fine. If you have any diet restrictions due to health issues, RUN!!!!!!!!

Brian Michaud

2nd time here and the food is consistently awesome and the service/atmosphere amazing. Highly recommended.

Elizabeth Kordek

Not vegan or allergy friendly

arthur watson

Thomas Conlow

Food was good, however the place is filthy and my server was bad! Maybe she was new? This this place is a dump!! Wait till you see the food runner.

Peter Kurek

Lisa Breheny

Great food & ambience. Gotta stop by often.

Danielle

Tried this place because we were in the area. If you can't use chopsticks (metal ones at that. Weird), ask for a fork. The pork dumplings were good, the yellow noodles were ok. If there was soy sauce or something on the table I would have used it. It was bland. The spicy thai minced chicken was spicy! My mother in law enjoyed it but it was too spicy for me. If you're a Coke Or Pepsi drinker, they don't offer those products. I opted for water as their other options were not appealing to me. They close at 2:45 and then open again at 4:30 for dinner. They do take reservations, as we were asked that when we were waiting to be seated. Not sure that I'd return as I've had better Thai food in Belfast.

Tan Quach

Came to Maine, from Brooklyn. Heard this place was amazing. Had soup, crab meat fried rice and kim chi pork belly. Extremely unsatisfied, and everything was very salty, even the soup! I would suggest to the owner to review staff of cooks as I’m sure it’s a far cry from what made this place successful originally.

Jodi Zimmerman

Delicious, fresh, and the staff was so nice! They squeezed us in during a hour spot they had open which was just enough time for us to eat. We weren’t rushed and the food was phenomenal. May we suggest the rice cakes for appetizer and tofu pad Thai for dinner.

Christopher Flansburg

Long Grain is excellent. They serve a variety of "Thai" style food and have a small specialty market on the side. They serve a good variety of Beers and Wines. The food is really lovely. This last trip I had Local(maine) Crab fried rice delicious and plenty of it. They seem to have become even more popular and so I highly recommend a reservation. Went for Tuesday lunch and most folks in there had reservations! Waited 30 min for a seat at the bar. But long grain is worth 30 minutes!

Abraham Stimson

My all-time favorite dining experience in the Midcoast. Anything with their homemade wide rice noodles will leave you in complete bliss.

Grant Gilreath

Entered the restaurant and no one ever greeted us, waited along with a few other families and couldn’t even find an employee to ask how to get on a waitlist. Also noticed most of those seated had not been served. Totally unacceptable.

Ashley Arakas

Seriously one of the best restaurants in Camden! LOVE THE RICE CAKES and beef salad.

BJ Kopishke

The China Town Chicken was AMAZING!!!!!!!!

Jeremy Sumner

Have not enjoyed a meal this good in years.

Mike Caputo

Great atmosphere with gourmet food and also vegan options.

Shauna Draper

Sad to see the one bad review below, but sadly one individual can ruin an experience. Also sadly, they didn't get to eat the food, which is the absolute star of this little restaurant. I live in Australia with plenty of amazing Thai restaurants to choose from and I still compare it to this little Thai place in Maine. The food is sensational and we found the staff to be quite friendly; it wasn't too busy when we went. Wish Maine wasn't so far away because I'd be going there as often as possible if I could!

Jessie Rottersman

Absolutely amazing food. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Great for take out and eating in. Nice atmosphere inside the restaurant. It gets crowded, especially in the summer, definitely call ahead for a reservation.

David Troup

Fresh ingredients, tasty noodle bowls, ever-changing and wonderful specials all at an unbelievably low price. If you're feeling the chill of winter, the Night Market Soup will make you whole again.

Russ Barron

Fabulous Thai restaurant in the heart of Camden with a small "general store" area in addition to the restaurant. Reservations are a must - the place fills up every night of the week, and there's a line out the door.

Martin Evans

Great good, really tasty. Good vegan options, just ask the server for the special menu.

Mark Paskin

Amazing noodles of all kinds. The pad ki mao is sooo good! But they don't have a sign out front, so a little hard to find. (They're probably trying to hide from all the customers they'd get if they were easy to find!). They're right next to Zoot Coffee.

Laura Buxbaum

Food is always wonderful - fresh, imaginative, delicious Asian dishes, very reasonably priced. Some of the staff seem less than welcoming at times - perhaps because they are always so busy, but they act like they are doing you a big favor by letting you eat there.

ian golder

The food is amazingly good here. North of Portland it is very hard to find an authentic experience like this. You can find many exciting imported beers on the menu. The location is totally nondescript, making the dining experience that much more profound. How can something so good be here? Don't question the gods, just accept it.

Nurse Carlita

Long grains is a unique experience, almost like it came from my dreams! The house-made noodles make me close my eyes and enjoy the full experience! The atmosphere is casual and clever, the staff is sweet, the music is nice, and the food is WONDERFUL and healthy. Some nights are better than others, but they do not disappoint! ENJOY a meal for sure. FYI: Do not order take out unless you have two hours to wait. It may take an hour to even get in touch with anyone on the other line to order your food. However, it you have the time, it is worth the wait.

Roberta Wentworth

Great spot. We had the Dumplings and Pad Thai. Yum!

Cory Upton-Cosulich

I have lived in Maine for 5 years and somehow just went to Long Grain....now I want to go for every lunch and dinner

Zihao Li

(Translated by Google) Terrible service. Big Brother and Big Sisters, Camden is a nice town, but this restaurant is terrible, poor service and racist. Don't come at the end if you have a choice. (Original) Terrible service. 大哥大姐们,Camden是个不错的小镇,但这家餐厅很糟糕,服务很差,种族歧视。有选择的情况下最后别来。

Filip Sipos

Best Asian food in Camden

John

This is Thai food at its best. Not only that, diners receive full portions as opposed to some upscale restaurants that try to starve you into coming back again. Love this place.

Alden Poole

One of my two favorite Thai restaurants I've ever been to. This is a local gem. Consistent and delicious. Although it can be difficult to get a seat, their take-out option is amazing too.

William Blodgett

GREAT FOOD, GREAT COOKS. 10/10. THANK YOU LONG GRAIN,THANK YOU BEN, THANK YOU JESUS WHO DIED FOR OUR SINS

Corwin Flynn

Freaking awesome wow!

Marcos H

After a few bad experiences in Rockland restaurants along came Long Grain to save the day. Their Multi-grain rice was perfect, which is no easy task. When cooking several types of rice at once you run into the issue of over cooking some grains or undercooking others but somehow each type was cook to perfection with right amount of seasoning as not over powers the rice and other components within the dish. We also had an special dish, Wich conauacons of egg noodles, Chinese broccoli, pork belly and other veggies. Like the rice, this dish too was delicious, the pork belly was crispy and salty and the noodles were moist and slightly sweet which made combination of these two just right. If I would have one complain would be towards out waitress, while she did her job she did so begrudgingly as if we were bothering her. I understand we were not dressed on our Sunday's best, as we came from a hike, but I definitely notice her demeanor towards us was less warm compared to the other patrons. But I can't fault the restaurant for that as the food was amazing and I would highly recommend it.

Todd Christy

Best Thai food I ever had. Flavors are so vibrant. Every dish different & unique. Spices burst w flavor. New digs are brighter than old location, w a small market attached. Don't visit Camden w/o a meal here.

Nick Alonso

I read the other reviews before coming to check this place out and after having lunch at Long Grain I truly believe it is the best Thai food I have ever had. My wife the ramen and I had a chicken noodle (house made) dish.

sam shank

Lousy service. Good food.

Andrew Webber

Great food!

Eric Rector

Really good food, but service can suffer when they get busy.

Karen and Michael Gallagher

I wish i could comment on the food recently, but we have been unable to even get any. We have tried getting a table several times, only to be told nothing was available for hours (while half of the tables sit empty). We have tried making reservations, only to be told they won't take a reservation for 2 people. We have tried ordering take-out just now, but their line was busy for 25 minutes and now is going directly to an outgoing message that says "if you want to order take out, please speak to us directly." Worst customer service, period. We had their food years ago and it was good...but not good enough for their inattention to customers.

Dorothy Gardiner

Just had a fantastic dinner today with my husband and son. Service was excellent and the food was just simply delicious. Thai ice tea was yummy and the ramen soup was so tasty. The gals that were working there were also so very nice and attentative. Quick service and this place is definitely a repeat for us.

James Guerra

Totally love this place! Never ever had a bad bite!

Sohbet Artists

Long Grain is a fantastic food experience! The owners and staff are community people and it is a must if you love creative flavor!

Rich Gravelin

Excellent Thai in the heart of Camden

Marshall Green

The food was wonderful. The service however was nasty and thoughtless. Yes, we were 13 minutes late, another party was coming in, but do we really have to be chastised 8 times? Besides we left in plenty of time. And the old place was WAY nicer.

Lori Arguin

Great tasting food, portions are way off, never know if your take out box has a good portion. Roslyn's is our preferred

Kyla Hebard

Simple restaurant with delicious thai food.

Petra and Michael Remsen

Very tasty Thai Food. I would stay with the normal menu. I do not like their specials that much. With the main menu you can not go wrong. Also a great place for take out orders.

Daniel Galligan

Awesome food!

Jeff Howe

Nice pan-Asian restaurant, just off the main drag in Camden. Low key, simple and very nice food. Ingredients are locally obtained, and the noodles home-made. We split an Asian salad, and I had Pad Thai, more subtle than standard takeout fare. Dessert was a custard brulee in black rice pudding. Got a tip to this restaurant and it was a good one. We'll be back.

Gary Born

Wonderful food, great service

Ken King

Great find!

Bob Zambarano

We just ordered the perfect set of dishes for 5: crispy whole fish, pad ke mau, pad Thai, crab fried rice. Daily curry. Yum!!!

Sara Fleetwood

Great food! Far exceeded my expectations.

Bernadette Weingarten

Food and service are amazing.

Mary Closson

I love, love, love Long Grain! Food atmosphere and the location.

Ted Pellerin

Really, the best Thai restaurant that I've been to. Wonderful, unusually authentic food.

Laura Cabot

James Beard award winning and reasonably priced.

Walker Ranger

This place was fandidly. The Pad Thai was on another level of goodness. The Tom Kha soup

David Richards

Delicious! Incredible Thai and Asian choices, including stir fries, pad Thais and Ramin bowls, all remixed with local Maine ingredients keeping it super fresh! They recommend reservations during peak season, and you better listen because the tables are limited and demand is brisk. 20 minute waits for lunch were observed the day we were there. This place is a must stop when you're in Camden!

Love this throwback to the fifties! Right price right on the water. family owned ambiance and personal service. thanks.

"Great food, service, drinks, and atmosphere."

wnhath

The best! Fresh local and delicious - always a nice change from the usual heavy New England cuisine.

William Garver

New digs same very traditional house made Thai cusine..also a small store to accompany your Thai cooking quests

Trevor Papsadora

Beautiful space, excellent staff and truly delicious Thai food. The Night market soup was the perfect balance of spicy and sour, with delicious locally roasted pork throughout. Pad Thai was one of the best I've ever had! Make sure to check out the market inside. Looking forward to my next visit!

Dale Smith

WThe very best Thai food beef salad is delicious, with the correct amount of spice. Service attentive

Seth Whited

Always excellent.

Summer Wirth

They were kind enough to accommodate us even though they were prepared to close. Even with this time crunch, the preparation and flavor was impeccable. Such beautiful, flagrant dishes with only the freshest ingredients.

Sarah Waldron

Always delicious, and consistant. Whatever these guys are doing they are doing it right. Ive never had anything disappointing on the menu. My only complaint is that its hard to get a table in the summer!

Charlotte Simon

Delicious and the new building is also very nice.

John Guarnaccia

Best Asian food in Maine. A treasure.

Jenna Carlson

The Thai food here is delicious. I will say I was a little weary to try, even though there were such good reviews. I've tried other places in the surrounding area with amazing reviews only to find that it wasn't that great at all. But, this place, I'll be going here whenever I need to get my Thai food fix. I got a little spoiled from living in Portland where if you hate one place there are a ton more to choose from. I had found one I loved and so I tend to compare any other place to that, and this one makes the cut! I got the Pad Thai with Pork Belly and one with Chicken. Amazing flavor, great price, and really good portion too. We got two meals out of it, but it's so good that it could easily be eaten in one sitting. Since I am a huge dumpling fan I got the Pork Dumplings, they were perfect. Weren't covered in a thick dough with a small portion of filling, they were stuffed and flavorful. Only thing I will say is that the dipping sauce they came with was so-so. I have made homemade ones myself quite often so I "doctored" it up a little bit for some added flavor (like my favorite place makes it.) I've got to try some new things next time. Because it all sounded delicious!

Rick Powell

Their vegetarian options typically contain egg and/or fish broth, which is not stated on the menu or by the server unless asked. I have never before been served pad thai with tofu and had it come with egg and fish broth. They were nice about changing it out for their one vegan dish, which was more expensive.

mia sewall

Best restaurant in midcoast Maine!
