REVIEWS OF Lobster Pound and Real Pit BBQ IN Maine

I can't really speak for the quality of food...because I waited for an hour without even being spoken to by a server. Service is a HUGE equation in figuring the quality of a restaurant, and since I can only judge this place based off its service, I'll call it terrible and leave it at that. While it was 7/3, and this area was pretty busy, the parking lot was half-full, there were tables to be had, and there were maybe a dozen different parties to be served. Busy, yes. Slammed, hardly. Maybe the food is good, maybe it sucks, but I can say without reservation that this is the worst-run restaurant I've ever been to.

Eric Maurer

Definitely a must do when in or around Belfast, Maine. BYOB and your set. Great food, great friendly atmosphere, waterfront dining at it's best

Pat Colson

Good food

Scott Osborg

Good food, legit BBQ, more lobster than roll!

Dee Yasgar

Staff is friendly and accommodating. Food is tasty and fresh but not on par with their pricing. Our friends treated us to the blueberry pie and that is a winner! I am very fussy about crust and theirs is melt in your mouth, light and flaky. If we lived closer it would be our go to dessert place.

Debra Ferrari

Loved it! Lobster done perfectly. The

Turnerbrewer

The lobster is excellent. The BBQ is amazing. This is from a guy who was raised in the south. The smoked mussels are plentiful and tasty. This place has a great atmosphere and the staff are superb.

Andy Pinzhoffer

Stopped on the way home from Acadia National Park. What a wonderful find. I ordered the brisket sandwich with corn and baked beans and it was all delicious. Shared a slice of homemade blueberry pie and ice cream with my wife to finish the meal and it was heaven. It was a beautiful day so I was glad we were able to eat outside, too. The waitress was very friendly and helpful.

Lindsey R

Great food and service!! We will be back!

Best barbecue along the road from hiking

Troy Smith

Awesome food

Baffrey Bentley

Very good BBQ ribs, haven't had the lobster yet.

Mike Lyons

Great food. We aren't really seafood people, but I tried the haddock and it was amazing! My wife had the pulled pork sandwich and loved it. Pleasant, low-key place with good atmosphere.

Greg Holland

Great food, nice staff and it came out quickly too. Will be back and would recommend for fish or bbq. Good for the whole family as well.

Michael Iarrobino

A must stop! Delicious BBQ and succulent lobster. No trip to Acadia is complete without a stop at the lobster pound.

David Coulson

Not much to look at from the road, but we were hungry so took a gamble. Glad we did. Good food, decent prices. My fish and chips was great fish, lightly battered and must of been over right ounces. Done perfectly. Slaw and fries adequate. Wife's clams we're also excellent. Staff was efficient and friendly. Learned much about the area.

B P

Great food and wonderful people!

Heather Bodnar

Absolutely awesome service and food!! Thanks Ryan and gang. We look forward to our next visit

I must have hit the place on a bad day because it was a major disappointment - especially after all the 5-star reviews I read about the place. I had the Haddock dinner and if the fish wasn't frozen, it was way overcooked, or perhaps it was reheated under a heat lamp for a day or two. It was dry and basically tasteless, although the serving size was more than adequate. A large portion of not-so-good fish is not a treat, especially since the price was about what you'd expect to pay at a much more upscale place. Maybe I should have ordered some of their BBQ instead of fish, but the place is within a few miles of the Atlantic, so there is no excuse whatsoever. The fries came with an unexpected red, funky coating and the coleslaw tasted like it had over-ripe pineapple and was swimming in some sort of thin sauce that oozed over the top of the small, plastic container. Frankly, the fries were the best part of the meal even though they were way below McDonalds-level. I probably should have gone to McDonalds and ordered a fish sandwich and fries for less than ten bucks and saved $25.92 Speaking of plastic containers, when I squeezed the red ketchup bottle, the whole top came off and half the bottle ended up in my plastic basket containing the dry haddock and the unusual tasting French fries. The party at the next table - picnic table, really - burst out laughing and one of them said, "That's about right for this joint." Since it was late September, the summer wait staff must have been back at school and the service was slow and awkward at best, even though there were on five or six small parties present. The place itself is open to the elements - even in the "inside" section. Several folks went out to their vehicles to get a jacket since a cold breeze was blowing through the whole dining area. And the décor what you'd expect in a roadside hole in the wall. The floor is grimy concrete and in need of some serious attention. Don't look for an inside restroom. It's literally an outhouse that you have to walk outside to get to. I'm surprised the health department let them get away with the rustic conditions inside. No problem, I guess, since I suspect Trenton, Maine, does not have a health department anyway. I guess next time - if there is a next time - I'll try their BBQ since most of the positive reviews are about that end of the menu.

erica leighton

My staff and I have tried every lobster/bbq place on the Bar Harbor rd. This is by far the best! We get take out during the day and it’s never been a fail! The pulled pork cheese fries and the pulled pork Mac n cheese are unbeatable! My husband loves the haddock sandwich! My manager said get the shrimp PO boy! The whole menu! I could go on! The corn, the baked beans, just get it all.

Carlos Miranda

Not like the barbeque places I've been to but I was hungry. Everything seemed overpriced. I can do better but they have lots of competition on that road, they should do better!

Robbie Littlefield

Great food! Awesome staff. Highly recommend! Tried the Ribs today. Unreal! Best I've ever had! If your going to be in the area check them out! Tons of awesome seafood as well. I'll be back to try other items off the menu.

Donna Anderson

Came here with my family on vacation in June, 2018. Flavorful food, wonderful, quick, service! Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. A nice lobster shack "feel". My hubby's bbq was great! My lobster was delicious! Clam chowder was creamy. Everything was cooked to perfection. I had the blueberry seltzer. We also tried the blueberry lemonade. Both had tiny blueberries in them! So refreshing! The desserts were great. Blueberry pie, blueberry ice cream....Giffords. Peanut Butter whoopie pie sundae! Oh my! I would come back here again for sure! I'm from CT but my mom is a Maniac....born and raised. I know good seafood!!!!

Garreth Debiegun

Vintage outside stand. Real pit bbq. Steamed lobster. Make sure the weather is nice!

Melissa Clark

Excellent food and great service! The portions were huge, the blueberry lemonade was exceptional as was the blueberry pie.

K Labeck

Excellent food. Fun atmosphere. Very friendly and attentive staff. Spoke with a few staff members who said the owners are very kind and treat the staff well. Met an owner on 2nd visit and she was really welcoming and had a happy disposition.

Jonathan L.

A little pricey, but good atmosphere, good service, and great food.

Lynea Wehinger

Great lobster and brisket

oboe520

Very disappointed. Came for a quick meal and waited 25 minutes for absolutely nothing. Was told food will come out “shortly”, and by the time we left, the order wasn’t even cooking yet! You should tell your customers about the wait or invest in scaling your cooking operation. Otherwise you’re wasting other people’s time.

Chris Griffin

Had my first lobster roll here and easily the best one while in Bar Harbor and Bangor. The barbecue was excellent as well, a truly special place that can meet the needs of all looking for a place to eat. I heard about this place from the staff at Fireside Inn in Bangor.

Vickie Alcorn

Very good place for ribs and lobster roll! The baked beans are awesome! Lots of food, reasonably priced! Nice friendly people!

Daniele Hubiak

Wonderful friendly staff, reasonable prices, and fantastic food! A must try for sure!!

Melissa Spooner

Totally exceeded expectations! We enjoyed pulled pork, smoked sausage and a knock out huge platter of ribs - all at a great price! The blueberry lemonade was also delicious! It was a completely fulfilling dinner on the first night of a week long vacation and we will definitely be back to try the lobster before we head home!

laney wunderli

Not worth the money. The "smoked" chicken is a standard chicken. Disappointed, this place used to be better.

Chris Lunsford

Great dinner! Pit beef BBQ and Blueberry lemonade and ice cream were great!

Edward Charette

This place was great . great food and happy staff. My family of 5 was served fast. The baked beans and slaw where awesome and I ordered smoked sausage and was given a whole rung with 2 sides for a great price . definitely stop by here for a taste of everything from good brisket to steamed clams . Will for sure be back.

Roberto Lujan

You must come with an empty stomach because you will have so much to eat at a great price

natalie sowinski

Great little lobster shack outside of Acadia! Staff was super pleasant and the food was phenomenal. I ordered the lobster combo. The lobster was the best so far that I had in Maine. The Texas BBQ ribs were delicious, off the bone and full of flavor. Nothing disappointing here folks. Support local lobster shack! Ohhh and the blueberry pie was the best! It was warm and served with homemade vanilla ice cream!

Terre Zabkar

Great service great food very friendly place had lobster for lunch liked the place so much took agroup back for dinner .They smoke all their meats hubby had ribs.....loved them !Baked beans are incredible fresh corn on the cob and homemade blueberry pie ...highly recommend .PS. We owned a prime rib house for 35 years

Deborah Kocsis

Decent food, inconsistent service, shack toilets

Chris Weldon

The best lobster roll I've ever had. Good service and a good beer selection. I hated to see it close for the season.

Jason Charles

$$$ but very fresh and tasty.. U had grilled cheese with Lobster 18.00 but full of meat

Chuck Winters

Loved it.

Sal Anthony

Felt like I was back in tx

Becky Thompson

Great Lobster Pound with other options. We eat here frequently when we visit Bar Harbour. It's great for lobster dinner but also offers plenty of good options for those that don't like lobster or other seafood. The baked beans are delicious and so is the blueberry pie and whoopie pies. They also have a good beer selection. Great place to take the family even with picky eaters .

ewa turzynska

My family and I ate here on the third of July and we had a bad experience. We ordered a half bbq chicken dinner, 2 pulled pork dinners and a starter of cheese pulled pork fries. To say that the food was low quality would be an understatement. It tasted reheated/microwaved. The service was slow. The tables were not cleaned after people left which was especially disconcerning due to dogs being allowed to sit on top of the tables. Lastly, to top it all off the price of of the food was more expensive then other restaurants in the area. The price, food quality, slow service and lack of cleanliness forced me to give this restaurant 2 stars.

Lillie Norris

Loved the lobster roll!

Andrew Goldman

Went twice. Great food and wonderful service from a lovely waitress.

Charlie Sears

Great food and great service. It's not every day you find bbq and lobster at the same place. Lots of Maine blueberry items are available.

Pat Rouse

BBQ brisket was really good and that is coming from a Texan

Lynsey Tortetotot

My boyfriend and I had been on a weekend drive and found this little gem!! Everything except service was GREAT!! It was not busy at all but I had to go and find my server every time... Sat 20 minutes atleast before I went and found someone to help me.. But food was quick and yummy!!

Nancy Schumacher

Expensive and they were out of almost every side on the menu. A good restaurant prepares for tourist season. Bathrooms we're disgusting. Food was less than mediocre for the price and the place was dirty. Not my choice of eating there. I was with a large group of family and they chose a place close to where we were staying. Take the 20 minute drive and go to a higher recommended restaurant from the tourist center where you can sit down inside and eat. Even if it cost more it would be worth it.

Foe Hammer

Great pulled pork, lobster roll and side. Great staff and good ambience. Outdoor seating and open air tables under the shelter. Worth a stop in your way into Bar Harbor.

Holly Stacy

I visit Bar Harbor annually and had never stopped before, but it will be on my must stop list from now on. Food was amazing especially the unexpected bbq. Potatoes were delicious. Lobster mac and cheese, yum. Looking forward to next year

Timothy Riley

I have spent a lot of time in Maine but I recently took a friend there for her first time. She had never been to a lobster pound before, as a matter of fact, she had never had a lobster in a shell. I wanted to find her a place that had good food but that would also appeal to a tourist. This place fit the bill. All of the food was fresh and well prepared. Nothing fancy but she was really tickled with the whole experience. My lobster was extra large and still had sweet, tender, juicy meat. The prices could have been more in line with other lobster shacks, but what are you going do? It was worth it to me just to see her enjoy herself. This would also be a great place to take a family.

kanishka chaudhuri

Quality of lobster wasn't that good and this wasn't cheap. However, Service was very good.

Regina Sokolinski

Bbq was not that good. We didnt feel good for the rest of the day after the visit. Both got stomach aches. We got a combo chiken and ribs

GC AWSOME!!!

Great food & friendly staff. Prices were reasonable & the menu selection was tough to pick just one item. If u go, make sure your stomach is empty. Lol!

Jason Krut

Great brisket! You can tell the owners are from Texas!

Linda Todd

The Ribs and Brisket melt in your mouth. The sides were just as good and proportioned just right. Staff very friendly......would eat there again

Joe Paulino

Poor quality food and seems to be the most expensive in area. Would probably recommend checking out other restaurants. Very disappointed I even ate here. JP

Diana Argersinger

Delicious food, reasonable prices, excellent outdoor service.

Kevin Sun

Slow service, a bit undermanned at lunchtime. Food was delicious however. Ribs exceptionally tender and juicy with great BBQ sauce. Fried seafood platter was decent, fries a bit on the soggy side.

Robert Petkus

Great lobster, BBQ, and blueberry pie! Everything was perfect. Amazing ribs, too

Tonya Collins

Excellent bbq

Kim Pomroy

Love the Blueberry Lemonade! Refreshing but not too sweet. Great pulled pork, generous portions, good prices. I never have enough room for dessert, so can't speak to those. A great meal plus tip is less than $25.00 for just myself. The seafood smells terrific, but I have yet to order any.

WAYNE Adams

AWESOME!! Great food and prices well. Stop by and try it, you will love it. We did !

Garry Allen

Great place Dog friendly awesome food.

Peter Parsons

Delicious food, great service

Michael J Makowski

By far my favorite place to eat in Maine. The steamers blew me away. I was not expecting the quantity I got, must have been at least 30 if not more for only $15. At home I would have only got about 10 clams for that price. The lobster was HUGE and cooked to perfection! My waiter even took the time to explain to me how to crack open the lobster, since I had never had one before. The sides I picked were corn and fries which were both excellent but the blueberry pie and ice cream was by far my favorite dessert from the trip to Maine. I typically hate pie crust but even that was delicious I couldn't put it down. The staff was so friendly and so helpful. You really felt welcome going in there. They even remember me on my second visit and even though the place was packed they still made time for my wife and I and were still super friendly despite being extremely busy. I can't speak more highly about this place. Make it your first stop on your next trip.

patrick bouchard

Best rack rib ever !!!

Patrick McFarland

Really good pulled pork, big sandwich and absolutely huge pile of onion rings for less than you'd think

Paul Solberg

Surprise and a half. Nice people, great food

Ken Parry

Big line up to get into Bar Habor.. gave up when we saw this place at lunch.. BBQ beans were amazing. Ribs were fall-off-the-bone awesome. Pulled pork needed some zip, but otherwise great!

James Lucas

Excellent ribs and lobstet

Frank Keys

Good naked lobster rolls.

Luna Soul

Classic lobster pit, wonderful nostalgic sea worthy feel to the place. I've ordered take out and sit down and both were very quick. Staff seem very happy and it shows in their food. I have been to many lobster places in Maine and if your planning for a lobster roll- order the naked lobster roll with extra butter on the side. It's literally the best one I've found.

Jadon Roller

Excellent lobster, bbq, and service was extremely friendly

Linda Ferrara

The meat was absolutely delicious. They serve very generous portions.

Jacqui Lorenzo

Delicious food. Fun atmosphere.

Michele Habel-Coffey

Fantastic fresh Maine Lobster and delicious sides make this outdoor stop a must do if you are in the area of Acadia National Park.

Howard S

My wife and I had dined here on our way to Bar Harbor and had received poor service. While the food was good, we would have to wait long periods of time between having our order taken, and waiting for our food, and of course, when we were maybe possibly waiting to order desert or even just get our tab, no one would even try to make eye contact, just moving along in Zombie mode. We even had to go up to the front to request our check and indicated that we possibly were intending to order desert, which we had got to go and were still charged for. $73.36 while traveling. I believe one of the owners (lady) was waiting on us, and gave us the excuse that this was the last weekend before closing for the season, and that they were understaffed??? Ugh...

Christopher Gann

When we pulled up, we were very hesitant, because being honest, at first glance this place is completely sketchy. But as soon as a server greeted us, we had a super friendly and nice server, who knew the menu well, the food wait time was reasonable, and came out cooked to perfection. My favorite thing I had was the homecooked blueberry pie with blueberry ice cream .simply amazing .in spite of their "sketchy" appearance, this place is a must go to if you are in bar harbor Maine . This is coming from a server who works at red lobster .trust me. This place is great!!!!

Jeremy Allie

Servers were slow and rude, don't try the lobster Mac and cheese, it's just noodles milk shredded cheese and a couple pieces of lobster seemingly mixed in the paper tray they serve it in, cold and not mixed at all. There's better places up and down the same road.

pirate0bloodyskull

If you're looking for great BBQ, this is the spot. Absolutely delicious. They smoke their meat for more than 8 hours. Delicious baked beans, as others have mentioned. Also have a live lobster tank, if you want to stay with the Maine spirit. Great and knowledgable staff. Will be coming back again.

Scott Nutting

Caught them on the second-to-last day of the season, so they were out of many things including most of the beers on tap. Still had a great meal. The gigantic fish and chips plate was delicious. The atmosphere was great, with tunes, lobster trap barriers and sea-themed murals.

melissa Mitchell

The service was good. The food was good. Serving size of side dishes are small especially for the price. But all in all we enjoyed our meal

Brian Hildebrandt

Awesome little place, well worth the stop!!!

William Rodick

This is always our first stop when we're heading from Virginia to Bar Harbor. You cannot get clams like this anywhere outside of Maine. Love the food and the service.

Kasia Thomas

my family and i visit MDI every year together and we have come to this place every year for the past six years for our lobsters dinner. while it is certainly a bit expensive, it is fair price to pay for that once-a-year maine lobster dinner. i always opt for the grilled lobster with a side of potatoes and corn. the lobster is succulent and flavorful, the corn is fresh and sweet, and the potatoes are always perfectly cooked and buttery. my boyfriend came with us this year and, though he has a seafood allergy, he was accommodated and chose a chicken dinner.

Larry Stunkard

Good lobster and BBQ almost like Jack Daniels but not quite

Kevin Murphy

Location was dirty and run down. Barbecue was flavorless. Lobster was overpriced.

Matthew Gray

Great food, amazing service and low prices!! They are also dog friendly. Definitely a must stop on the way to Bar Harbah or Acadia.

Jane Susan Frank

Twin tails pricey but delicious. I had the grilled lobster and ,it was great $28.00....nice size , corn was well cooked and Cole slaw was good too. Great to sit outside in September.. nice breeze and maine at it's best

Bruce Lerner

We stopped in here after arriving late in the afternoon on Monday. We shared three sandwiches (brisket, haddock, lobster roll) and the associated six sides. We came back for our 'last dinner' before leaving on Friday. Definitely try this place.

ARSavage_12 Alex

Very good food place needs a little cleaning up

Thomas Rodrigues

Good quality food, albeit with touristy prices and slow service. The lobster was large, fresh, and delicious. The baked beans, which had some brisket mixed in were some of the best I've ever had (who would've thought a roadside spot in Maine would earn that distinction?). There was also a good beer local beer selection. My only issue, and thus deduction of one star, was the slow service - it took about ten minutes to get a waiter's attention. Despite that complaint, I'd go back.

David Reaves

Steamers were excellent and could have been a meal by themselves. Fresh hot clams and plenty of them. Melted butter and clam juice were provided for dipping. I mixed them for a dual flavor sauce! The main course was a seafood platter with lightly battered and fried clams, deep sea scallops, shrimp and a haddock fillet. The fried clams (including bellies) were exceptional, even better than the steamer clams. The scallops were also extraordinary, tender and sweet with a very light crust. The shrimp were also very good. The haddock was acceptable, but the competition set the bar too high-- it didn't match the rest of the seafood. We also had a pulled pork sandwich. It was tasty, but needed the extra zip of the BBQ sauce that we had to request. The fresh corn and red potatoes were excellent sides. The fries were standard fare. The food was accompanied by Eli's Maine root beer. It too was delicious. The only down check was our inexperienced server. He was friendly, cheerful, and helpful, but wasn't at all attentive. We needed to ask for all the condiments, refills, and had to ask a couple of times to have all of the sides served. Still, based on the quality of the food I will certainly eat here again. Next time, I hope they aren't out of blueberry salsa!

Bret Smothers

In 2017 we discovered this place and were pleasingly surprised... Tried the fries covered with pulled pork, smothered with cheese and bbq sauce... it was the bomb... absolutely fantastic... best ever... Made it back this year looking oh so forward to the best fries in the universe, sadly very disappointed!!! Wait seriously DISAPPOINTED!!! they had changed them and had some kind of fancy relish stuff on top... PLEASE PLEASE bring the old back... The staff were great and everything else was tasty....

Dan Hawn

Stop here and eat! Do not drive by!!

Mark Ellington

Awesome food and service! You have to check out the smoked mussells. The bomb!

Mark Brown

Place is legit. Brisket tender and Smokey. Try the blueberry lemonade.

Jim Keyes

Really good food. Great clam chowder and bbq items.

shawn cochran

Excellent Ribs and mussles. Will be back.

Tonya Corter

Smoked mussels are the best along with their lobster mac and cheese.

Navaneet Pandurangan

Very good food and service

ronald alcorn

Food very good ,friendly atmosphere

Christopher Sullivan

I had a lobster roll and, while the brioche was pretty good, it was light on the meat. At $22 for the lobster roll, even with a couple of sides, it seems to be tourist pricing. The gf and I shared a piece of blueberry pie that was on point. Great crust, not too sweet. 4 stars for the food being good, 2 stars for being pricey and not particularly generous with the portion (for the lobster roll, at least).

Ben Conigliaro

Reasonably priced, good food

jesse DesLauriers

Pulled pork was delicious. Baked beans were perfect. Highly recommended

A C

Got two lobster tails over cooked and rubbery for $42 and the side of beans were about 2 tablespoons, left hungry, others got lobster rolls they said were good , waitress very nice

Lissette Roman

Food was delish and staff was very friendly.

Jeff York

Best Beer N BQ.. Service N Price!

beth tittl

Phenomenal! We did not even get lobster (all lobstered out after a few days here) and the BBQ was unbelievable... the Rodeo platter is a good sampler and fed our family of 4 with a few extra sides. Staff was really nice, and it was quiet but a nice rustic atmosphere. There is outdoor and indoor seating area, and the indoor is picnic like, but similar to other roadside restaurants. Right down to the pie, we were totally impressed. And we are from Ohio and have had quite a bit of experience with bbq. The smokiness of the meat was like eating the best part of a campfire!

Jenny de Graaf

Great place! Wonderfull food and a lovely staff. Hope to see you in the Netherlands

Sarah Ito

Fun but very expensive (par for the area though). Clean, nice staff.

Colleen Stock

Really good little side of the road Lobster Roll place. A little pricey, but totally worth it.

Sally Rad

We came in for a casual dinner and ordered a lobster to share and The Rodeo, billed as "the whole shebang". It is true...the dinner fed 4 of us and we had a full to go plate when we left. All the BBQ was great - tender, juicy and tasty. The restaurant is relaxed and laid back...perfect for our group. We'd definitely recommend a stop here.

Donnie Meismer

Excellent atmosphere. Very nice, attentive staff. Large portions and great tasting food. The barbecue is genuine, juicy, and tender. The lobster are fresh and flavorful. Pricing is surprisingly lower than most places. I recommend the Whoopie Pie Sundae with blueberry icecream.

Scott Harris

Erica was right. We ordered the lobster and brisket to share and started reading reviews. Erica’s below made me grab our waitress and add pulled pork cheese fries. I’ve lived all over the world and didn’t know these were a thing. But they are and they are amazing. The lobster was fresh and cooked well. The brisket was good (outside of Texas acceptable). The staff friendly and service was quick. We’ll be back.

Broady Eyer

In all of Portland maine and Bar Harbor this was THE BEST place we ate at... and we ate out a lot. They had amazing pulled pork, sides, blueberry pie and cheesecake. Highly recommended.

Susan Saravis

Great Texas brisket and amazing baked beans. Friendly fast service.

Carl Beauregard

Mass quantities of delicious food! You will leave here full, happy and with leftovers.

Mikey wilds

Real Maine seafood and great staff

LUCY CONDON

Lobster was not grilled and very rubbery. Easy access to the location.

Randall Figueroa

Didn't try the seafood, but the ribs and beans were excellent.

Shannon Dickinson

Service was great, the pulled pork fries were amazing, and the blueberry soda float was unique! The shrimp po'boy was fresh and tender. Will be back!

Steve Lipofsky

Great place! First-rate smoked sausage and ribs. Grilled lobster! Wonderful wait staff. Nice cold draught beer.

Stuart Foreman

Amazing Lobster tails, pulled pork, brisket and sausage!

Brandon Law

It was very good.

Chase Berry

Amazing. Best scallops ever. Ribs were good. Blueberry lemonade is fantastic. Loved! Lobster and lobster roll.

Tanya Vavra

Food is like most road side lobster pounds, but their prices are what you see in pricey restaurants. Shocking because when we first started eating here it was reasonable. Probably won't eat there again

Richard Sands

Ribs were way too dry and tough to eat. An anomaly, I’m guessing. Waitress and owners said “sorry” but never offered to exchange them for ribs that were edible. I was embarrassed for them.

Jennifer Reedman

Great food. Friendly service. Their BBQ sauce is AMAZING!

Robert Nardini

Outstanding....

Ning Ding

The lobster with drawn butter was awesome. The ribs were tough and off. The service was fantastic though.

Howard Reel

$42 for 2 small lobster tails. Down the road it was $22. At Hannifords $5.99 a lb. and they'll cook it for you. Hey, I ate it, enjoyed it. And paid for it. But I learned a lesson.

Mike D.

Excellent food and great service.

Randolph J. Cromwell

An absolute staple of the area - a hole-in-the-wall feel with friendly staff and even better food. Can I please get seconds? It has a humble appearance if you drive by it, but I am so glad that I decided to turn around and grab some grub - welcoming smells and smiles from the get go. Pet friendly! Adorable outside seating that is a self-serve setup.

Rick Becker

Best ribs I've had in years. The service was above and beyond fantastic.

Andrew Baron

Went early for lunch, with my parents, and we all enjoyed Lobster rolls w. very tasty sides (corn, coleslaw, fries). Tried the Chowder too, solid. And was *very* happy with the draft beers.

Jamie Thomson

Absolutely legit. Stopped by on a trip back from Southwest Harbor and they don’t disappoint. Great beer and one hell of a pit master. The ribs were fall off the bone amazing along with a smokiness that made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Do yourself a favor and check this place out.

Judy Jenkins

It is pricey but good

Brian Leland

Great lobster, cold beer!

Debbie Catanzarite

We had the naked lobster roll and the brisket and sausage sandwich. They were both very good. I also had the homemade potato salad which was also very good. Staff very friendly and the outside tables are pet friendly. Blueberry beer was awesome! It had blueberries in it.

Jordan Zafer

Great Texas Bbq, steamed mussels, and lobster rolls. Giving 4 out of 5 though because of the overly cooked fried seafood plates, small side portions, and the price. The bbq is definitely great and I live in Texas.

Andrey Lipavsky

No muss, no fuss, just incredible bbq and delicious, fresh lobster! Excellent

haley yuen

I'll start with the positives: the food overall is pretty good, I'd rate it a 4/5. However I felt that the size of the sides were far too small. The prices were fair but for my party of 3 we all felt that you had to spend upwards of $30 to be satisfied. If you choose to eat outside be warned that the mosquitoes will treat you as a buffet. While our waitress was very nice, she had too many tables to attend to, so I felt like the service wasn't amazing.

Donna Bentley

Delicious lobster roll, courteous service, and great Texas bbq all in one restaurant!

Wayne Holly

Delicious has to sum up this review. We enjoyed the food and staff enough to eat there three nights in a row! The place is casual and laid back with seating outdoors at picnic tables. The staff is very friendly and t he service is good. The menu is a great mix of lobster dishes and, of all things in Maine, BBQ. They keep the smoker out front going, so the smell is incredible. We had to try the lobster roll which was very good. What really caught our attention was the BBQ. We tried the brisket, pulled pork, and smoked sausage. All were as good as I've had elsewhere. The sides, cole slaw, beans, and baby red potatoes are also delicious. I recommend a stop here if you are in or going through Ellsworth ME.

Todd Nichols

Food was real good..

Allison Badger

Great food.. friendly n very welcome feeling!!

Steve Wright

This place is well worth the stop. We had the pulled pork sandwich, baked beans, and potato salad. Everything was great. The pork was juicy with a good smokey flavor. The beans had just the right amount of sweetness. We topped it off with the blueberry pound cake with blueberry ice cream. It was excellent. We have had BBQ at several other spots in the area but this is the best. Best food and the best service too. They also have lobster and while we did not try that it looked really good. We will definitely be back.
