Here you will see all the opinions of people who are using the services of Lobster Cooker (Restaurant) in the state of Maine.
At present the firm gets a rating of 4.2 over 5 and that score has been based on 380 reviews.
As you can see the average score it has is very high, and it is based on a large number of scores, so we can think that the assessment is quite reliable. If many people have bothered to give their feddback when they are satisfied with the business, it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to place opinions when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Restaurant is classified in the category of Seafood restaurant.
Great little place with fantastic seafood. Portions were large with reasonable prices. Staff was very friendly and order was done quickly.
Delicious lobster rolls and clam chowder!
Great lobster roll
Pleasant staff and a good atmosphere. We enjoyed the outdoor seating. Order and pick up food at the counter. A bit pricy for the portions, but it is a tourist destination so I guess that’s what you pay for. Lobster rolls did not have much meat, but were tasty. Lobster bisque had nice chunks of lobster. However, fried clams needed to be rinsed better. First bite was gritty, which made me afraid of every bite. They were also really tough and a skimpy portion for the price. I had much better clams in Portsmouth NH.
The lobster roll was absolutely incredible!! The service was not the quickest or friendliest, unfortunately. It felt like we were inconveniencing our server every time we asked for anything. I would go back for the food though!
I had a Sirloin Swiss burger. My husband ordered a whole Belly Clam basket and both were delicious. Ordered our food inside and sat outside on the patio.
Good food, fast and convenient in and out on a super busy holiday Saturday!!
Great place. Food is great.
Portions are small. Fries are meh. For great fish and chips try Schutty's in west Bath or DAY'S in Yarmouth.
I am so glad we ate here! I had a naked lobster roll and lobster bisque and they were superb! Great happy hour too! Relaxed atmosphere.
Good food at reasonable prices for Freeport.
Very good restaurant. Food tasted very good and wait staff were very friendly with our group.
Ate here for one reason, they respond to reviews. I enjoyed my food cooked to order. Service was fast, food was hot, fresh, and tasted great. Would eat here again.
Food (lobster roll, what else?) Was really good and a generous portion of lobster, but $23 for a sandwich and fries? Only tourists would pay that..
A must stop for any hungry shopper! The items are fresh and prices are good. This is a serve yourself so you can quickly get some delicious fried seafood and get back to shopping! We had the Fisherman's platter. The clam strips were a little fishy. We did not go upstairs to the sports bar, maybe on the next visit. There is a parking lot right behind their building.
Ended up here during a recent Patriots game on a Sunday afternoon and had a blast! We ate upstairs and enjoyed lobster rolls, chowder, and drinks while watching at least 8 screens of various games. The atmosphere was fun and friendly, the staff were a bit slow, but kind enough, and the food was very tasty. We would definitely return.
Great food!
Quick service and good food. A bit pricey but it is Freeport.
Wife & I both had the haddock fish and chips. The fish was fresh, large portions, and well cooked. The fries tasted fresh. Server/cashier was friendly and helpful. The dining area was clean. We would eat here again.
Always perfectly cooked and gluten free.
5 stars isn't high enough. Best lobster anywhere!
Been here twice. Food was great both timesm lots of beer to choose from. Casual place with counter service and seat yourself.
This place was adorable. Lobster soup is a must have!
Lobster bisque was excellent fresh fried fat belly clams right from freeport were awesome. Great beer selection too. Staff was friendly food was quick. Definitely try if you are in area.
Friendly waitstaff... Cold beer.. food was good. Upper Deck Sports Bar.. plenty of tvs
Had a quick app and a beer while my wife and niece shopped. Pleasent staff, cold beer and jumbo shrimp!
I loved the GF fried shrimp!! The cocktail sauce was also better than any I’ve ever had. I could also have the fries because the fryer is dedicated. Friendly and fast service. Dinner here was a total win!
Excellent lobster roll, huge chunks. Good fries.
Amazing food and service!
Restaurant was conveniently located near l.l.Bean just down the street with indoor and outdoor sitting. They advertise gluten-free fried food. However it didn't appear to react like gluten free. we got the fisherman's platter for one and we split it the platter was mostly french fries it had salad size shrimp that haddock batter was nice and light haddock was probably the best thing on the platter and the clams were very very tiny. For the price we thought it was a little high for the amount of food that you got.
Poor customer service with the exception of 1 person whom I have not seen there since, overpriced menu, I can get a better deal at my local grocery store. The cole slaw left a lot to be desired. Too many big pieces and not enough dressing. The fries and shrimp were not cooked crisp enough to my liking. And 3 dollars for soda?
My wife and I went there last night for dinner. The lobster roll is to die for! My wife had the calamari platter and enjoyed it very much. We will definitely be back next time we are in Maine.
We stopped here for dinner on the way home. Drink selection was nice and happy hour specials are always pleasant. The lobster bisque was amazing. The Haddock place was really tasty with nice big pieces of fresh fish. The waitress was really nice and attentive. I was glad we stopped.
A place with good food, great help and a nice beer selection. Fast friendly service with a nice outdoor seating area.
Great lobster rolls and cheesy bacon fries. Great French fries, bacon dish, chicken fingers and shrimp. Will return for sure. A must stop they get you in and out as well.
Really good lobster roll with outside dining
My son and I split the $35 for 2 steamed lobster special. IT was great lobster, decent sized. It was pretty slow for counter serve restaurant, and the rest of the family wasn't too impressed with their food orders.
I'm never disappointed here, no matter what I order.
Best lobster great place to stop and dine
Fantastic service upstairs with Julie and the food was cooked to perfection! Absolutely delicious! Highly recommended! A+
Very good lobster rolls right in Freeport, Maine
The best lobster roll and lobster bisque we had on our vacation to Maine. Friendly staff and oh so delicious food!!!
My wife ordered the scallop basket. After cutting them open the middle were not cooked. We spoke to the waitress who said she didn't eat seafood so she wouldn't know if they were cooked correctly. I asked her to touch the middle, which were cold and raw, and at that point she called someone else over. He looked and and said they were close. Again, I asked him to feel the center's, which he did, and told the waitress they needed to be cooked more. A few minutes later the basket returned cooked more... Yes the same scallops that everyone touched returned in the basket (which was a dead giveaway because they were cut in half). Ugh. Never again.
The best lobster roll in the world! The lobsters are fresh off the boat every morning! If you're in this area you must check it out!
Food was awesome. Had pork sandwich was outstanding. My kids had burgers they said they were great. A little pricey though. 3 adults 2 kids was $71.00 for lunch.
Had the clam basket. It was good. Portion not bad.
Good service, good food. Can be waited on upstairs or order at counter downstairs
$15 bucks for 5 chicken fingers and a few fries thrown in a basket, save your money and go somewhere else
Decently priced food for Freeport. Standard seafood fare. Ambiance is sporty, can be rowdy at times. Table and speedier service would tack on extra stars. I'd come back if I was in the area looking for a quick bite, but wouldn't go out of my way.
I had the lobster roll with butter, which was very good. My hubby is a huge coleslaw fan, and I'm kind of picky about which ones I like. Theirs is very good. We sat upstairs and enjoyed the full service and friendly bartender. Highly recommend.
Great quick service. 1/2 price apps and beer specials upstairs. Great food.
Awesome food
Service was fast and friendly and the the portions were large and very tasty!
Sampled some of your lobster bisque at LLBeans Home Store yesterday. To die for delicious! SO, we decided to go to the Lobster Cooker for lunch. Best ever! Bought a take-out bowl for my hubbie who agreed it was the best. Will definitely return!
Really really good!
Terrific lobster roll. Don't let the long line deter you. They are quite efficient.
We stopped here on the way back from shopping at L.L. Bean. We ordered at least of every roll they offered and bit we're we impressed! Our favorite was the warm lobster roll with butter, but the clam, shrimp, and lobster with mayo and crab rolls were delectible! The staff was kind and professional and we were very happy we stopped.
Lobster bisque had a ton of lobster meat! Friendly service, good execution.
Decent lobster roll. Very good gluten free fried foods.
Best lobster roll u had the whole time I was out there
Quality seafood, well seasoned gluten free batter, fried to perfection. Friendly service at order/pick up counter. We took our food outside on their patio, but you can get table service in the pub section.
Amazing fisherman's platter. Great memories are tied to eating here and then seeing an llbean concert. Highly recommend!
Have lobster doubles.
Hands down best lobster bisque and crab roll I have EVER had. Great counter service and super clean. I'd give this place more then 5 stars if possible
We had lunch there on Dec 21...the pub was full yet the single waitress handled all the tables perfectly! Everyone had food and drinks on the table to enjoy and she went to each table several times to inquire how everything was! The food was served quickly...was economical.. and good! Will definitely return!
This place was great. The food was wonderful, and prices were very reasonable. We sat outside during a July and it was awesome. The kids loved it.
Great Seafood, stopped in to grab a little bite and walked out stuffed to the gills, husband & I shared a Seafood combo for 2 and there was even left overs, also loved the fact that it was a gluten free batter( easy on the belly for fried food) never had it before and it definitely didn't disappoint or take away from the wonderfully fresh seafood taste and lightly cooked seafood Husband & I have had our fare share of seafood places up and down the East Coast and we both agreed this had to be one of the best Seafood restaurant's we have had in a long time.
Probably the best lobster roll in Maine
It's expanded. The nature of a good business is to do so, yes, but it's no longer the relaxed, home-away-from-home, come and hang out place it used to be. The food is still good, fast service, friendly. Music is a little loud.
When I enjoy a quick trip to Freeport it usually includes the Lobster Cooker. I have sat upstairs for table service twice and been pleasantly rewarded with great servers. I enjoy the mushroom burger and the lobster roll basket, delicious!
Nice place. We've been here before. The fried foods are gluten free which I guess for some people makes a difference, but they seem to be lacking compared to other Full Belly clams I've had in the past. Not sure why gluten-free is something they would do.
The food was great, the drinks were cold and the atmosphere is fun to watch. We ate on the top-deck and got to see the crowd below and have some relaxing time after 5.5 mile hike. The bar tender/server was great, didn't take any gruff from anyone. Watched on guy try to ask for special service and a seat because he is a "local" and the bar tender told him he had to wait like everyone else. Though it is nice to get special treatment for being a local, as a tourist I like to see that no one is getting special treatment, especially when there are so very few seats and you have to wait a half hour plus for a table to turn over.
Food was fast and very fresh I had fried clams wife had lobster roll
Great food, prices and service
Looked good, sounded good, but we were not interested in a Workaraunt and my wife couldn't go up the stairs to the bar.
Busy place in downtown Freeport. Food took a while and I would rate it as OK, however there are better local options for seafood.
We wanted a quick bite for lunch and this place was perfect. The shrimp sandwich was amazing. The only thing that was a little scary was the bar at the top whenever anyone walked by you, you felt like the floor was going to cave in.
Great fresh seafood. Upstairs service now. Nice break on the way up north.
A bit pricey for the portions, but the food is tasty! I got the lobster roll with drawn butter, which was delicious! The fries are good too! It was worth the price to relax after walking around freeport and refuel!
Lobster roll is delicious. Chicken sandwich also strong.
Lobster bisque was very good.
Ordered a fried seafood dish, 1/2 scallops and 1/2 clams. Not the best. We got 4 scallops and the clams were small, I mean small. I've had better frozen clams out a package. We wont be back.
Long wait and over priced. The food was tasty.
Visiting from oot on business... The food was really good. Service was good, I will definitely come back.
Good place to stop in the area. The lobster bisque was excellent. The lobster BLT was good but nothing special. Friends had the fish sandwich which made me a bit disappointed I didn't go with that.
Nice place, had lunch for three bit pricey 80 dollars with tip.
Fresh delicious seafood to fuel your LLBean binge.
Great service and nice view from the dock.
Didn't care for the batter on the fried seafood...it is gluten free...for some people that is a good thing.
Great fisherman's platter and gluten free too
Great stop for some quick and delicious lobster roll. Super friendly!
The food was excellent. We sat upstairs and had the best waitress EVER. We tipped her generously and as we walked downstairs and headed to the front door, she appeared. She was so appreciative of the tip we left that she had to thank us for our generosity. We had a great meal, quick service with a genuine smile. She couldn't have been more attentive. This place gets an A+
Food was ok... The lobster roll is good
Good seafood. Nice variety. Very good chowda. Counter service downstairs, table service upstairs. Not overpriced considering the neighborhood
Small place in downtown Freeport, Me. Order and pick up with small Bar with Table Service upstairs. Like The name says, Lobster and other Seafood, along with Bar Fare. Large Outside seating area and large inside seating. Lobster Bisque is probably the best within an hour or more of travel.
Good food and drinks. Cozy atmosphere. Ashlie was great!
I didn't expect much because this seems like a touristy place in a touristy town, but the food was awesome! The lobster roll was delicious, but my favorite part was the fried scallops! They were tender and very flavorful. The fries were also very good. Highly recommended, especially if you're in Maine in the offseason, when fresh options are limited.
Excellent place too eat a lobster bisque and the lobster roll.
We came here during happy hour and ordertheir lobster roll...it came in a toasted bun which made it really good.
OMG so good. I would eat that haddock every day for the rest of my life, if I could.
Excellent service; nice simple selection of healthy and hearty food. Good prices, too!
Good enough for me! I grew up in the town next door and have a taste for haddock sandwiches. The seafood here isn't perfect or amazing, but it's pretty good. Although the location implies tourist trap it's not even that pricey.
This is a 'must stop at' place. Only drawback is that their prices reflect that they are in a touristy area. Their Lobster Bisque and Lobster rolls rock!
Nice outside atmosphere. A lot of bees, however.
Great lobster dishes and service
Good food
They were super busy but definately worth the wait. Lobster bisque had a great amount of lobster and the haddock & fries were hot and fresh.
Great food and service, along with good prices.
Great food and service
Fantastic food! Had the lobster roll and a cup of chowder. Wife had the half pound of fried shrimp. Everything tasted great. The service was wonderful as well. Was not very crowded at lunch. Ordered and food was up very quickly.
Lobster sandwich
Loved the happy hour specials. Apps were awesome.
We arrived in the rain on motorcycle after a long days ride. Greeted like family and we got there shorty before closing. Atmosphere was fantastic, lobster and clam chowder were delicious. I will drive out off my way to eat there again...
Parents said best lobster roll ever. Good solo guitarist
Great food, large portions and good prices. Also the menu has alot of gluten free choices
Good seafood. Helpful staff.
Good. Not awesome!
Loved the food and service
Had the lobster roll and the lobster bisque. The lobster roll was fresh, chunky, cool and tasty. Had mine with mayo, which was lightly applied... Thankfully. Great sandwich, lovely lobster taste. Bisque was creamy and smooth, with some unexpected lobster bits. Great, friendly staff.
Great seafood and perfect portions. Their fries are really good. Large selection of drinks, including alcoholic, and we loved that they had iced water on tap since we don't drink sugary drinks anymore. Nice outdoor seating area but on one trip they had piped music out there which was too loud and really, unnecessary. Clean, single seat unisex bathrooms.
Lobster roll, lobster bisque, fries all superb. Staff very friendly, helpful and efficient. Good menu, indoor or outdoor seating. Really really enjoyed this place.
Great environment. Good food!
Lobster roll was interesting. Hot buttered, grilled roll, super cold lobster meat, lettuce, cup of hot melted butter to pour on top. Apparently the meat is supposed to be cold... Never heard of that. For $22, in Maine, I expected the best lobster roll I'd ever had. Disappointed. The place was very clean tho and staff was friendly. Wasn't busy so food was up quickly
Delicious and quick, great spot for that taste of seafood you're hoping to catch in coastal Maine! Close to shopping and parking lot.
What can I say it's the best seafood I've ever had good job guys
Best Lobster rolls we were Amazed how good they were
These are literally the best fries Ive had in my entire life.
