Here you have all the feddbacks of people who consumed the products and services of Little Giant (Restaurant) near Maine.
Currently this business gets a score of 4.5 over 5 and that rating was based on 156 reviews.
You must have seen that it reaches an reviews average is basically the top, and it's founded on a large number of reviews, so we can think that the score is very accurate. If many people have bothered to give their review when they've done well with the service, it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to set reviews when they are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Restaurant is included in the category of European restaurant.
Decour works for romantic meal or night out with the folks, excellent food. I recommend you start with the shishitos
I go just for the sandwiches. Both the vegetarian and meat choices are always on point not to mention the sheer size of them. Pair with Maine Maple chips and a local ginger beer and you my friend will be thanking me later. The shop is cool too. Great assortment of essentials as well as a hidden gem for local beers like Foundation.
I love this restaurant. It's become a go-to for (boozy) brunch and a favorite first stop when I'm in town. Beautiful clean interior, crazy amazing food and badass bartenders.
One of our favourite spots in Portland!
Some of the food here is spicier than one might expect by reading the menu. Service was great and very helpful.
Best bloody mary
Fantastic staff, amazing food in a surprising scene. Highly recommend to test out this chef's seasonally inspired creations.
Great place for a late drink at the bar. Staff is very friendly and attentive.
A nice neighborhood spot with an eclectic menu and great drinks.
Best cheeseburger in town!
Mostly over priced stuff
We had the best time! Place is so cute and comfortable! Food is amazing!
Minimalist decor, outstanding food and service. Try the house-cured bacon and cast iron skillet pancake - simple and perfect brunch dishes. The coffee was bitter and it was too warm in the dining room (adjacent to the kitchen), which are the only reasons for 4 stars instead of 5.
So we ate at a competitive local James Beard restaurant last night... Little Giant is significantly better. The chef and the kitchen staff has their game face on where serious flavor and creativity is thrown down. Try the black rice scallops, shishito peppers, and tar-tar. If your lucky enough to have Lucy as your server, the night will be complete.
Went with full family. Ordered the family style beef ribs meal ( love family style servings) and it was well presented but terribly bland. Not an herb or acid used and really needed black pepper and salt which was arrogantly absent from table settings. Apps really enjoyed. Buiscuits and oyster taco ordered twice. Our daughter voted for the chicken family meal but got voted down so ended up with chicken fingers. Exceptionally unoriginal. Once again , acid please! Lemon, vinegar, tamarand, umi... Something with more zest please! Oh and there was too much server interaction with our water glasses. You gave us water bottles. Wee can pour more for our selves. Or if you can't stop refilling then get bigger glasses. Thanks
The restaurant is really fabulous. Love the food and the cocktails!
Excellent food.
Great and simple food! Fantastic atmosphere.
Brunch here is a delight! After considerable debate about what to order, our party of 5 simply ordered the entire starter menu and four main dishes to share. What brunch would be complete without cocktails? None. The Bloody Marys were a dream come true. A return trip here is definitely on the to do list.
The wait staff was attentive to our needs. The coffee was amazing. At our table we all order something different and shared two appetizers. Everything was great. We all tried each other's food because it was so delicious. My boyfriend's son recommended this establishment to us, hats off to him it was very very good..
Bright & comfortable appearance. The front room with bar & boothes seem like it will be the locals hangout. The back dining room is open & loud. With a lot of wood & no soft materials to absorb the sound. The cocktails are well concocted, delicious, & sized The menu is advanced comfort food. I wish I was with a larger crowd to have the pig's head tacos. While the courses were great, there were some accountrements which didn't improve the experience. Looking forward to returning.
Cool local restaurant
Ok lets break this down to a very simple value proposition. For hungry people who want options in plate size and fun-to-pair flavor and textures, Little Giant offers a modular menu containing earthy, interesting ingredients prepared thoughtfully. Enjoyed our wide latitude of plates even though they were out of skate that night... Great reason to return.
The food was good (not great), but it didn't stay warm in their freezing cold restaurant. I don't like to write negative reviews, but this is meant to help them in this very competitive foodie town. When your heat isn't working and guests still come to eat, I recommend offering them a warm cup of coffee or something. Our server was defensive about the less than enjoyable experience that left us (and the entire dining room) zipped up in our Winter coats during the entire meal. She wasn't even nice in general. We would have spent more and stayed longer (we had a reservation to celebrate a birthday), but we were eager to get out and warm up. Luckily the little dive bar across the street was open and we were able to enjoy our birthday party there all night. Little Giant, you disappointed. Maybe we'll be back in the Summer.
Like an AI combed Instagram for a few months and then used an algorithm to create a restaurant. Good burger but everything else is too trendy for it's own good
The food and service were great, the menu was a little confusing and would benefit from more explanation on serving sizes.
Such a great selection of snacks, beer and wine. We got the meat sandwich of the day, expecting it to be a little strange but it was fantastic. A BBQ ham sandwich with coleslaw and a tangy sauce, squished on a panini press. So good!
I had brunch on Sunday with several friends and we could not have been happier with the delicious food and pleasant staff. The beignets were light and fluffy and the deviled eggs were a big hit. The cinnamon roll melted in our mouths. The french omelette was delicious and we tried the salted cod dish which was amazing. The bloody mary was sweet and spicy. A great experience!s
Excellent food and served. The scallops were exceptional.
Very lovely place, good food, too expensive
The good: The staff, the atmosphere, and the cocktails. The bad: the menu- when you state on the menu "smoked beans" and the server says they are extremely spicy and what you get is steamed edamame with a side of hot pepper - you have misled the diners. It was only spicy of you dipped the steamed edamame into the spice otherwise it was just boring edamame. The next food item was called camarones and nuts and wound up being dried shrimp (the kind you feed turtles) and whole marcona almonds - not fit for human consumption. The saving grace was a black rice dish with clams, mussels and scallops and the blistered shishitos. Not worth leaving the port area for this restaurant.
Cinnamon rolls are the BEST. Go early for brunch just for those.
Disappointed. 3 diners. Two left hungry after ordering large plates that were not large. Prawns and pasta were 2 prawns cut into small pieces in a butter/ghee sauce with pasta. The prawns were cold the sauce was uninteresting. One diner was told they could not cook her burger medium well-done. None of us could make sense of explanation why. Burger did come medium and was good. Mussels were standard/ ok but again not enough to justify large plate.
Amazing experience, wonderful hospitality and absolutely delicious food, wine and cocktails!
How on earth has it taken me so long to visit this place?? Went yesterday for happy hour with friends, and was lucky enough to snag a reservation to return an hour later for dinner with parents. For happy hour- whatever the drink with ginger and peppercorns was, it was magical. The seaweed brined fries converted me into a fry-lover for the first time ever. And DINNER. To get the full experience, plan the evening and get courses. This was 2.5 hours. Chilled wine. Blistered shoshito peppers. Flank steak with sweet potato and chimichurri- the best steak I've had in Maine, easily, possibly in the northeast in general. Churros with spicy chocolate ice cream and coconut macaroon crumbles. And all the while, a lovely waitress who was professional but with a winning sense of humor, and enough patience to put up with my parents for 2.5 hours... and to help them actually enjoy the evening (which can be a struggle)!! Seven out of five stars. Will return and take some better pics; was too wrapped up in my enjoyment to get any food photos this time. (I hear there are dollar oysters and half price wine bottles on Wednesdays...)
Both my wife and I both very much enjoyed our breakfast/brunch here. The mushrooms on her toast was top notch, and the hash brown I had with my sandwich was devine. Simply standout produce, which Portland ME seems to have in abundance!
Slow service, so so food and far too much noise made for a major let down. As it was my birthday and I had read so much good press, I was very disappointed and embarrassed after telling everyone in our party how well rated it was.
Meh.
100% recommend the ambiance, service, and importantly the food.
Absolutely delicious, incredibly friendly staff, and a very inviting space. We'll be back!
Such a happy accident to stumble across this place. Great coffee, amazing breakfast sandwiches, and friendly laid-back service. Plenty of room with a nice private backyard terrace. Looking forward to coming back!
Been here twice for brunch on Sundays. Every dish is delicious and felt fairly priced for using local ingredients. The space is well lit and inviting. The service is accommodating too. Will bring people when they visit!
Great food and service. Sit at the bar for best dining experience.
Great atmosphere, great staff, delicious plates and tasty cocktails!
What a little gem. Everything we had was wonderful from the drinks to brunch to the larger, gooey cinnamon rolls. Definitely give it a try
Wednesday Happy Hour...great deals on amazing & delicious food! Great service too!
Quiet, peaceful, relaxing environment!
Dinner and brunch were amazing!
Really delicious food and drinks with a great atmosphere.
The food was good, but kind of overpriced for the quality and quantity, tbh. Go for the atmosphere. The cocktails were also
Great dinner and great service.
Excellent food and professional and top notch service. A warm and welcoming hostess greeted me for dinner last night and when I returned again for brunch this morning. I noticed the owner graciously observing all aspects of his operation. He didn’t miss a thing and was respectful with his staff when making suggestions.. This was the dining experience that I grew accustomed to in some of the best NYC restaurants during my 20 years there and we’re thrilled to have finally found a spot in Maine that offers the same level of expertise. Wonderful addition to the handful of establishments in Portland that are catered to tue foodies.
Just fantastic!
One of best burgers in Portland. Cocktail list is incredible. Have not had any bad food from LG. Always have a changing menu with a few new items, and a special cocktail that supports a cause!
Quality food, Amazing service
Great food, cocktails, and the staff is great. Excellent cold brew!
Spare design and menu creatively executed at a high degree of skill.
Lobster deviled eggs!
Been here twice for brunch on Sundays. Every dish is delicious and felt fairly priced for using local ingredients. The space is well lit and inviting. The service is accommodating too. Will bring people when they visit!
Cleanly designed neighborhood living room lead by an owner that cares. Fabulous vibe, fabulous staff, fabulous experience.
Little Giant looks cute on the outside however, it’s a completely different dining experience on the inside. I’ll give it to them, the aesthetics, the artwork on the walls, the plants are all nice. The place settings were nice. The menus look really nice too. Looks can be deceiving. We asked the waitress if the beef was from Maine and she said yes at first then said it wasn’t and that it was from New York because there was minimal beef selection in Maine. My concern isn’t that she said it was from Maine first then said it wasn’t. My concern is that she doesn’t know the food industry. There isn’t a lack of beef in Maine. My brother (who was a guest at the table) is a farmer and knows the beef industry. Our waitress didn’t seem educated on the menu. My Mom asked a question about a salad and the woman said it was a decent salad for dinner it just didn’t have a protein. The salad was puny which would have been fine if she didn’t say it was a decent salad for a meal. There were minimal guests in the restaurant and it took entirely too long to get our food. When our food started to come out it took 5 minutes to get all of our plates. It would be one thing if it was a tapas style menu but it’s not. My fiancé’s meal was cold by the time my burger came out. This place will not be open for more than 24 months (unless they change management) mark my word.
Wow. Go for the superb fine dining quality food. The service was excellent too! Kudos to all involved with this excellent restaurant.
Really clean and fresh feel inside. Comfortable vibes. A little pricey, but worth it. Amazing oysters.
Chic new neighborhood place with excellent craft cocktails by Charlotte. Comfy bar stools. Yummy burgers and other menu items, including mussels. They are working on patio for out back. Good background music.
The cocktails are amazing here. The service can be a little slow, it seems. That didn't bug me at all, though, especially since there were seven of us, and I expected that for such a large group. Some in our party were a bit put off, though. The food is good, if a little pricey for what it is. Go here for the cocktails and the ambiance.
Amazing food, service and ambiance. Great wine list. Would definitely recommend and will for sure come back on my next trip to Portland.
We had a poor experience dining here with a group of National visitors. Eventually we were able to communicate the concerns we had with the owners and appreciated their respectful reply and apology. I think we had a "one off".
Great cocktails, amazing food.
Hip-yet-genuine vibe, awesome happy hour food and drinks.
Cute hidden
The food was good enough. The service was a little too nonchalant and the meal timing was out of whack.
Nice environment : clean and spacious. The staff is friendly. The food is a little pricey but worth every penny. Drinks were great as well.
Thanks to Little Giant for making an awesome vegan meal for me, on the fly!
Had a great dinner last night! Locally-sourced foods, friendly and informed staff, great drinks, welcoming environment. I'll be back...often!
Damariscotta oysters and a perfect Little Giant Martini. Both world class.
Food is wonderful and so are the drinks. As a designer, I am so in love with the simplicity of the space. Service was great
Very good food. Especially the oyster tacos...
Little Giant is the perfect place to unwind, be 100% yourself and enjoy delicious food and drinks. You won't be disappointed!
Awesome food, great atmosphere. Love the patio area.
Good
Food, cocktails and service - all excellent.
It was ok. Food was well prepared. How can you serve brunch and not be able to to handle making an Irish coffee without 2 visits to the table? Beignets were over proofed and hollow.
Get a giant meal and share with friends. That's what this place is all about
