Always a great atmosphere and amazing food!

We had a very good experience. The wait staff was pleasant and efficient. The food was very good. The game machine behind me had an annoying sound that it played over and over. Several members at my table mentioned that it was very annoying. (Younger and older). I wouldn't expect anything less at a sports bar/restaurant. We got a laugh out of it. If you're over 40 and annoyed by repetitive noises I recommend not sitting by one of the game machines

They have a decent menu to suit different desires. It's a great place for families and friends to go for gatherings as they have room to hold parties. The service can be a bit slow sometimes when they are busy as I don't think they have enough waitstaff for the busiest nights. Video games for kids keep them entertained while parents socialize.

First time going was seated right away. There service and food were great. I like that they run daily specials we were there Sunday kids eat free. I just gave a 4 cause we noticed a error on our bill that needed correcting (so check your bill).

I didn't enjoy Hero's at all. I didn't find it to be family friendly even at 5 pm and it seemed that parents went there to get drunk and let the games babysit their children. The food was an okay price, and overall okay but nothing special. I waited 20+ minutes for the check, after having coleslaw dropped on me because a waiter tripped over a child who was running around. I won't be back.

We stopped in for a cold IPA and had the Buffalo loaded fries for an appetizer.. Huge portion, enough to share.. Some of the best fries we have tasted.. A good selection of beer made from local breweries.. Definitely going to go back and try something different..

Steak was awful, probably the worst I've had in a long while. Sweet potato fries were about the same. Mac and cheese side was a winner though... My kids loved it. Bumped to 4 stars since manager didn't charge us for our meals. Will definitely go again for another try. Top notch service and resolution, they didn't have to and we certainly weren't expecting it.

My kids love to go here to play videogames and win tickets while we're waiting for our food. Their blue cheese dressing is the best in town, sweet potato fries and home-made chips are also very good. Food can he super greasy sometimes, depends on the day. Get here early or on off hours because it can fill up fast and wait times can be fairly long. Free buttery popcorn while you wait.

Great local spot, although a bit expensive. As of now it's $13 for 10 wings! But their specials make it worth it. Lots of beer choices and generally good service. A good number of cycled arcade games as well. Recommended!

It has that authentic Sports bar feel to it, every baseball game was on, and Hero's has a mini arcade spread out the establishment featuring a pinball machine which I have to be happy about, I dont see many anymore. The food is on par with the price. Had better fries but thats minor. Drinks both alcoholic and not are pretty cheap. And the 1.99 whoopie pies are a dessert must. Best and cheapest dessert in town.

Pretty sure this is my whole families favorite place to eat in the Bangor area. Any time we are all together and going out to eat, this is where we go. We have also had two parties here upstairs for my father's 50th and my brother's 30th and it was so great! The kids love coming here, too! The food is always amazing and so is the service!

One of our favorite places to eat when in Bangor. Food is great, service has always been fantastic and they have an excellent selection of local beers. Our daughter loves playing all the arcade games they have setup as well. Would definitely recommend.

Great place to gather, family or friends night out. Best sweet chilli wings in town. Good menu, typical pub food but quality and value are excellent. Fun activities for children. Drink offerings are excellent. Dining and entertainment areas are well maintained. Staff are pleasant and attentive. Broadcast of pretty much any games/sport you could want is widely available. We will definitely return and highly recommend this establishment for families and adult groups.

Very Dirty! Management was a joke, Wait staff was a disappointment, and inappropriately dressed. My steak was COLD, and not cooked correctly! Not impressed at all..Will NEVER come back!!! My kids did have fun, but not worth them getting sick because of how dirty the place was!

This is one of the friendliest places in town. Although it's set up like the standard sports bar, the staff really makes it work. There are others that are just bars with TVs. Here, you can have a great time and they're doing to help

Heros is undoubtedly the best place to have a good time in Bangor. The bartenders are the best and the waiting staff is exceptionally good. Unlike many other restaurants, they care about the person and not the price. The prices are good and the food is great!

My first time ever going to Hero's I was impressed. The service was exceptional, our bartender was very knowledgeable about their menu. He even got us desert after the kitchen had closed. The haddock sliders I ordered tasted awesome and the atmosphere was superb.

We get salads, pizzas or burgers. Been twice in the last week. Great with kids because of the games. Food is good. A little loud with all the tvs and games, plus the kids but as a parent you can deal with it in an environment the kids can be kids in.

Service can be poor and the food can be bland, but overall it's a fun place to hang out with some friends when you're not in a rush. Heroes has a section on the second floor which can be rented for a very reasonable price which comes with a bartender. If a large group of friends is going out I'd recommend renting the upstairs and having a good time together without having to worry about waiting for service.

We've eaten here a few times now and love the food. It's pub food and sandwiches hard to mess that up. Service is kinda slow but very friendly and they give you free popcorn while you wait. They also have THE BEST chicken wings around. Pay attention to your salt shakers. We noticed ours was full of gnats. I don't know how the bussers or servers missed that.

Good food, fun for the kids, they can play arcade games while waiting. Very loud, but it's a bar and we are a loud family so it wasn't so bad. Not super clean, but I cant say it was dirty, maybe just dated. Waitress was quite slack, it was busy and she spent 15 or so minutes talking to a table of friends of hers so we were all quite thirsty with no drinks. We had to track her down to get refills. We'll go back again, it's a relaxed atmosphere and my teens liked it.

Can't recommend Hero's highly enough! Burger was cooked EXACTLY how I ordered it and was DELICIOUS! Our waitress was attentive and friendly and offered many suggestions. She really was a treasure! Crowd was upbeat and enthusiastic without being so loud we couldn't have a conversation. HIGHLY recommended!!!

Great food and atmosphere. Good place to bring the family or just stop in for a quick lunch. Food is good everytime and staff is excellent. Prices are average but food is usually a step above. Recommend giving it a shot if your in the area. Parking can be tough if its busy as there are several other businesses in the plaza but yet to not find a spot.

Food is great, tastes fantastic and is of solid quality, but the prices are outrageous. An order of 10 wings and a salad with 2 beers at a sports bar should never cost over $30 before tip. It seems like prices go up every few months. Obsecene. Used to go 3+ times a week to eat, now I probably won't be back for a long time again. For the same money you and your significant other will spend for a beer and two entrees at heros, spend the extra $5 and go to Timber to get your moneys worth.

Nice atmosphere, and great food! Can't beat complimentary popcorn either! Parking CAN be a bit of an issue on a busy night as the other buildings in the plaza share the same parking lot, but it's not the restaurant's fault.

Nice environment and plenty of TV's as well as a few arcades. I don't know what he is trying to achieve here, whether it be a family friendly restaurant or a hardcore sports vsr. The facility accommodates both however it walks the line as to what it truly is thus presenting the customer with the dilemma of whether it's kid friendly family fun, or 5 o'clock Friday afternoon bar time. The food is very good especially the sweet chili wings. I haven't tried the pizza but I've heard it is excellent. I didn't eat or drink at the bar (which is adjacent to the dining room all in an open air style building) so I cannot give you my opinion as the whether or not the drinks are good or the service is good. He did do pretty decent job decorating the place as there isn't any empty areas on the walls. There isn't a whole lot of unique sports memorabilia, but then again this is Bangor Maine, and we are two states away from any professional sports franchise and the local sports scene is an absolute joke and the college sports here hasn't had anything to root for since '42-1-2'. He did put a decent effort into creating an environment for anyone and everyone, but falls short on who to directly cater to. Overall one of the best of it's kind in the area well done.

We've only been a handful of times, but whether out with a group of friends or with our young kids, it's a great place. Everything we've had on the menu was excellent (lots of comfort food!) and our picky kids even loved it! Drinks are decent, servers are friendly and it's a fun atmosphere.
