REVIEWS OF Flatbread Company IN Maine

Raphy & Sara Feolino

Order: Large Pepperoni & Mushroom Flatbread - delicious and the right amount for two people - the only downside was that it was really oily, but still really delicious. My husband had oil dripping down his hands! We were seated pretty quickly (window view, whoop whoop!) on a Wednesday night around 7PM. Very cool interior, dim lighting, kinda noisy (had to talk above average) ***NO military discount***

Kristy Lust

Very tasty! Especially enjoyed the veggie special on the day we visited. Great flavors. Friendly service. Brownie sundae definitely worth trying.

Collins Apuoyo

Comfortable and relaxed place. If you intend to have a long relaxed afternoon.

Chad Butts

Great service, variety (pizza and local beer) and location.

John Girouard

Personally I never try to go during the summer due to the crowds. However a terrific place to go. Food is always good

Vince Curletta

Excellent food and atmosphere. We are outside and it was very nice. Can't wait to come to this place again.

Ryan Barr

Great pizza and awesome brownie sundaes! Gets very busy (sign of a good restaurant), which can sometime lead to servers getting stretch a little thin. Otherwise, almost always have a great meal here. Good place for those with kiddos too.

Paul Bellefeuille

Food and service were perfect! Parking can be a chore especially on Sundays when on-street parking is free. But if you're patient enough you may get lucky. There is a parking garage next door where parking is $5 per hour.

Chris Davison

Great pizza, great local beer good service and terrific atmosphere. I thought it a little expensive but then I'm comparing it wit London England

Lisa OHearn

It's Flatbread company! They always serve up the tastiest pizza with the best ingredients.

Marit Ivory

Excellent flatbreads. You can tell the ingredients are quality. Wide beer selection. Small patio.

Elezabeta Romanov

Best pizza and best hot lemonade I've ever tried!

Jesse

If you've read the other reviews you know this is a good spot. Been here dozens of times, not once has there been an issue.

RM R

Great flat bread pizza place right down by the port across from where the charter and ferry boats pick up. Great open high ceilings and laid back casual atmosphere, great for families - but still feeling sophisticated. Pizza and the salads were fantastic.

Tim Rule

Great for our dog. Excellent service and food for humans as well!

Mnichole Miller

Great pizza. Clean place and atmosphere. Nice great professional employees, who always seemed to try to succeed.

Julie Moskowitz

Great food and reasonable prices. Definitely slightly above $ but not quite $$. However you can taste the difference in the fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

Eric Anderson

Good food and drinks. Harbor view A bit noisy inside. Fun to see the pizza oven.

Peter Loesch

Great beer list and of course delicious flatbreads!

Chris P. Bacon

Food was excellent! I had the best flatbread ever! I would rate it higher the only problem was the table gave me a splinter. Had to get splinter removal surgery! Bottom line: Great food, but horrible tables!

Don Rouse

Poor host's manners. Heard so much about the food here, and to wait an hour to be seated with almost half the restaurant with open tables. Won't be visiting it again.

Renee Captor

Great pizza! We wandered in to grab a quick bite while waiting for the ferry. Our expectation was typical mediocre at best tourist fare. We were very pleasantly surprised! The pizza was perfectly baked, with a thin crisp crust, a fresh sauce, just the right amount of cheese, and outstanding pepperoni. Delicious!

Kenneth DeLorm

We visited just after the lunch hour and chose to eat outside on the deck overlooking the wharf as we had our 2 Bernese Mountain Dogs with us. Definitely dog friendly - brought a filled water dish for the dogs. Great choices for flatbread pizza, along with a build you own. Beer, wine, etc are available including many local and craft beers. Appetizers, salads, and sandwiches are also available. Reasonable prices and courteous, professional service. Handicap accessible. Family friendly.

Zues Raymond

I’m a slave to this place. The food is okay and over priced but they serve drinks on the watter our the back end I love it

Kristy Lust

Very tasty! Especially enjoyed the veggie special on the day we visited. Great flavors. Friendly service. Brownie sundae definitely worth trying.

Connor Baird

Excellent pizza! The service was great! The atmosphere was very unique and fun. The beer selection was good and the wine was delicious.

Jedediah McMunn

My party and I are from out of town and canme here at the recommendation of a friend who grew up in the area. This place was hoppin'! The food was damn delicious- vegetarian flatbread, Casco Bay flatbread, and pepperoni flatbread were on point. Seems all flatbreads are brick oven-cooked. Excellent selection of craft beer and tasty cocktails! Environment was nice, especially the outdoor seating area.

Kelly Kuhnle

Awesome, real wood-fired organic deliciousness

Josh Gaylord

Great atmosphere, small flat bread is plenty for two people, too much for one as well but there's a guy across the street in front of the starbucks that prefers mushroom, if you're feeling altruistic. Guy at the bar was full of knowledge about their local breweries and distilleries. I had the wiggle fingers? bourbon, and it was one of the best I've ever had.

nick nelsonwood

Amazing pizza! They use lots of local ingredients and everything always tastes fresh. Their seaweed salad is a great way to start your meal. The view is fun as you get to watch the ferries come and go.

ravi koil

We moved to Portland from Atlanta seven months ago and are very proud Mainers. Prior to moving here, on our frequent and many trips to Maine over several years- one of our must go to fave restaurants was Flatbread Co. Now that we live here- the delicious fare and excellent service are easy for us to enjoy. Here's the go to place to chill and enjoy great pizza, salads and sinful desserts and a fabulous selection of local and top notch beer. Cool view of the water and ambience and the service is great- we are in Maine- you would expect great service in our great State. Tom and his team make it an enjoyable experience!

Signe Golash

Amazing pizza, love that you can watch them make the pizzas in the ovens

Diane Chapman

Delicious pizza and fabulous service! We had a great time watching the team making the pizzas and working the brick oven!

luke palsson

Really enjoyable! A bit pricey for pizza but all the ingredients were local so it was worth it in my book

Elizabeth Ford

Small, limited menu, but all the pizzas are delicious and also gluten free friendly. Great mixed drinks that you can get from a drive thru type window while you wait outside, definitely have to have to try the blueberry lemonade!

Alan Corbett

The food was good and the service was ok and prices very reasonable. Just felt it was all a bit rushed. Still eating when we were asked if we wanted the rest boxed up.

Dawn Toth

Great pizza and cozy seat near the Brick oven!

Rocco Novielli

The atmosphere and views are great. The food was exceptional. I had the Wood Fired Margarita, if you like spicy then that’s the way to go.

Josh Haley

Hit or miss. Sometimes it's great. Other times I think the kitchen staff has had it with the tourists and makes it their mission to make them not want to come back. Either way, it's still too 3 pizza places in Portland for me.

Andrew Sewick

The flatbread pizzas are so tasty and amazing. Good draft beer selection as well!

Weer'd Beard

Food is good, and the open style kitchen is cool, but the menu is very limited and the chicken is much lauded on the menu, but nothing special in reality.

Shiv NOYB

Delicious food, vegitarian options, great service.

Mikayla Livingston

Delicious, but more on the pricey side. 100% recommended

Douglas MacLeod

Some of the best pizza and organic salads in town!

Ryan Hamelin

Decent. Pizza was "okay" and service was neglectful.

Kristyna Borden

Great location, comfortable dining area with views of the water and great service. The flatbread were delicious. The dough was light and tasty. The wood burning oven cooked the flatbread to perfection. We tried the Community and Punctuated Equilibrium. Both were delicious but the latter was my favorite. We had the beer flight which was a good deal and lets you sample different types. We liked the Bissel Bros and Austin Street. The two others were a raspberry sour and unfiltered cider. Ben our server was really friendly and offered great recommendations on the bear list. Would highly recommend if you're in the area and need a break from seafood.

Lynn Smith

The food was fantastic. The ambiance was wonderfully fun. The food was outstanding. Try not to miss the apple crisp yum. The service was also very efficient and the server was very friendly. The view was incredible and the entire experience was really lovely.

Eddie Deyo

Probably the best pizza I've ever had. We had a veggie pizza with smoked Gouda, and it was amazing.

Haasenstein

Usually a 4-5 star place, however our young waiter seemed alouf and stuck on himself as opposed to making sure our order was being prepared. 2 simple organic salads came fairly quickly, but waited 50+ minutes for a small pizza. Should have been made with salads within 20 minutes max. 1-2 star this particular visit and would never have that waiter again.

Rocko Washington

Ok pizza was wrong and do was raw still

Scott Walter

Great beer list and a fun patio with harbor views in the summer months. Pizzas and salads are unique and tasty

Brian Arborio

Great views of harbor. Excellent locally distilled spirits and great pizza. Be prepared for the bill

nick nelsonwood

Amazing pizza! They use lots of local ingredients and everything always tastes fresh. Their seaweed salad is a great way to start your meal. The view is fun as you get to watch the ferries come and go.

Greg Gorman

Great local brewery and good fresh food.

patty depaola

Had the mobile oven for a wedding welcome party. The food was awesome and the staff was great. They made pizza's for 3 hours and were entertaining to our guests. Served 75 people with no problem. A great evening and they did a great job!

Horace Barsh

Steak salad ,the salad was ok, steak bad..Pizza fair. The Arnold Palmer was excellent.

Kevin Doyle

Great food even better service.

Karen Gee

Great pizza, cocktails, and atmosphere!

Vincenzo Aceto

Amazing food all organic ingredients. Lots of options for all diets and food allergies. Amazing beer, great service.

Michael Szymkowski

Amazing food, great staff and a pretty decent beer selection. We always stop here when we're in Portland.

sam tarbox

I stopped in with a group of 5 gentlemen on a late Saturday afternoon. We were seated, served drinks and ordered very quickly. I soon discovered my new favorite flat bread. It was made Greek style and was tasty. Good selection of beers is worth mentioning. The restaurant filled quickly after we were served. Get their early or you'll certainly be stuck waiting. However the food is good and worth waiting if you have the time.

David Newton

Delicious pizza and wonderful ambiance. We arrived during peak dining hours, yet we were seated right away and received attentive and prompt service. The next time I find myself in Portland I will be sure to dine here again.

Debbie O'Toole

Daughter said I had to try this place and wasn't disappointed.

Michael Lynch

Call ahead if you are going for dinner after 5:30. Great pizza, rotating specials bring rare treats. Great tap list and friendly service. Not the speediest restaurant but everything is made from scratch by hand and is amazing so it's worth the wait. If you're visiting Portland this is the place to go.

Dan Grigoras

Avoid the “smoked salmon salad”... total rip off- you would expect bib lettuce and not week old romaine for an $18 salad. The “smoked salmon” was basically lox from a bag.

Charlotte McClure

I rarely find restaurants worth their wait times. Flatbread is a notable exception, and I never mind waiting 30-60 minutes for a table. The atmosphere and service is always so uplifting and lively - you feel like you're instantly among a huge group of friends. But even more than that, the pizza is incredible! Whether you go with a classic or one of their seasonal specials, you won't be disappointed. Solid beer and dessert choices to boot.

Sean Mokler

Always amazing! Great beer selection with some interesting taps. Fantastic house salad I strongly recommend adding goat cheese to. Every pie is deliciously cooked with fresh toppings. The best brownie sunday anywhere.

Brigitte Whiteside

Salad of the day was different and very tasty. And the Pizza must be one one of the best I've eaten until now. Real friendly, natural and not 'overwhelming'. Apart from that an original place and good music.

Matt Kelley

Went here based on reviews and recommendations. Great spot and it has an outdoor window to the bar so you can get a drink while you wait. Our waiter was excellent. We told him we were leaving for Boston the next day and he got another staff member to write down brunch spots for us en route on the drive. That was really above and beyond! The food was great. I can't give it 5 stars but it was really tasty. Part of the reason for 4 stars is because it lacked variety. There are only about 4 or so pizzas to choose from with red sauce. So pizza was very good but not WOW and the menu is somewhat limited. I'd still recommend it, though! Oh and no reservations makes it difficult to plan when you have kids and large parties.

Anthony Lucchino

Overall great place to eat in Portland. Awesome food, service, and location. Will definitely be back! Highly recommend.

Lauren Hanson

Yummy pizza, love the crust! When it has little black specks, you know it's truly wood fired..there is also the fire to prove it. Relaxed, chill vibe right next to Casco dock. Plenty of craft and local beer to choose from. Friendly and efficient service (thanks Timothy!). We really enjoyed it!

Douglas Johnson

Second time eating here. Fantastic food. Busy day and they slid the pizza out a little too fast. Mike made it right though, gave me the goofy one and had a brand new one re made to take home with us. Go eat here!

Rayce Barnes

Very good pizza. Right off the water. Great quality ingredients. I will return next time. Beer flights available. Some delicious sweetener in everything....maple syrup. The hot sauce is incredible! Nom nom nom

John Moulton

Excellent pizza. Crust was perfect and toppings were very flavorful. Nice waterfront location.

J Vander Schaaf

Great oven fired pizza with many good choices. Great, friendly service. One of my favorites.

Charlotte McClure

Preston Warden

We used to go every week in 2018. They started going down hill in October so we figured it was off-season blues. We went back today 3/3 and they haven't gotten better, probably worse. We ordered both the vegetable and carne specials and ordered vodka cranberry drinks. The girl is the same we always manage to get. She never writes things down but always forgets what you order. We told her vodka, cranberry, lime. She came back and said she put soda water in it (disgusting). Plus we asked to add sausage to our flat bread and specified twice that we wanted to 'add" the sausage. We received sausage in lieu of Hamburg. Just aggravating is all. We loved this place in 2018, not sure we will go back in 2019.

David Lefkowitz

This restaurant has awesome pizza. The add-ons are fresh and delicious. The dough is thin and awesome. Definitely have a meal here. Ourson is the best bartender in Portland.

Donald Grant

Great flatbread pizza, great staff, and great service. If you're in town and are looking for more than just lobster, check this place out! Hint Hint: the apple crisp is actually homemade!

Sean Mokler

Always amazing! Great beer selection with some interesting taps. Fantastic house salad I strongly recommend adding goat cheese to. Every pie is deliciously cooked with fresh toppings. The best brownie sunday anywhere.

serdiegito

Good quality amazing place by the sea

Michael Rouse

Some of the best pizza I've eaten. The crust was out of this world! We had a couple of issues with the service but overall a great experience.

Ethan Remillard

Yeah good za. Would eat again. And again.

Michael Tarbell

Excellent Pizza! I am not a big pizza fan, but this was really good! And in a very trendy part of Portland. There is something for everyone in that area. Would definitely go again!

Roger Bailey

The flatbread pizza was really good. You can watch them making it and putting it in the big wood fired baker.

Torra Williams

Awesome food. Love the lamb flatbread

Amie A

Good pizza. They were down one pizza oven the night we were there so it took a while to get our pizza. Our server wallet us know right away. Cocktails were great. We were there on a Monday night at around 7 pm and they were out of a ton of things...steak for salads, certain cocktails, etc. Family friendly for sure.

Darrin Baxter

Loved the pizza, beer, and outdoor patio. We have a few "picky" eaters in the family but everyone found something they enjoyed.

Deb T

The best pizza we've ever had, live the home made pepperoni and sausage, the goat cheese and fiddleheads were amazing on pizza, staff was great!

Dustin Robert

Open kitchen where you can see all of the action. Huge stacks of wood next to the oven also adds lots of character.

Anthony Sgaramella

The flatbread was excellent and service was friendly and attentive.

PKMD Adventure

Great service, tasty flatbread, excellent beer list. Good for a casual night.

kramille

Decent beer selection, organic greens were a little brown, flatbed Community

Joshua

I'm amazed with how good the pizza is here! They've also got a substantial selection of beers and wines to choose from. From the friendly attentive waitress, to the cozy atmosphere, soft ambient music, candles and the wood stove all create a very relaxing environment. I love this place, and at a fair price with a water front view, this blew out our expectations. We're looking forward to our next visit.

Octobers World

Ordered different pizzas for take out. Jay’s Heart with sausage was EXCELLENT. Jay’s Heart with pepperoni was good. Jay’s Heart plain wasn’t that great

Sean Duffy

The pizza here is so good. The cheeseburger pizza was one of the best I've ever had. We can't wait to go back and try many more things! The only thing we wish they had was more of a selection of appetizers.

Pritta Paratore

It used to be really good. However, the last time we had was burned pizza at the edges. Taste like a coal

Elizabeth Wright

I am not a lover of thin crust pizza, but this was one of my top 5 pizzas I have ever had. Friendly atmosphere. Great service. The first place I have ever been to that had a Pilsner beer on tap and it was excellent. To the boss: I was in your establishment Wednesday 8/7 around 1:30 for lunch and the young man working the bar was great. He is a keeper.

Sabrina Butler

The waitress was nice. They had a fire the week before so there was a long wait. The salad was good but the chicken was over cooked.

Sean Orion

Delicious and friendly

Brigitte Whiteside

Salad of the day was different and very tasty. And the Pizza must be one one of the best I've eaten until now. Real friendly, natural and not 'overwhelming'. Apart from that an original place and good music.

Dabman007

Love the thin crust and wood fire taste. Great location in the old port. Salads are just as good as the pizza.

Sally Roberts

As usual, the pizza is good, people are friendly, and the beer flows.

Ildefonso Mozas

My favorite pizza place in town. Very polite service and fair price.

Matt Kelley

Went here based on reviews and recommendations. Great spot and it has an outdoor window to the bar so you can get a drink while you wait. Our waiter was excellent. Sean LeVine

Very good pizza and the atmosphere is awesome. Sitting dockside next to clay ovens that are woodfired for the pizza. So good. I think Dave Portnoy of Barstool should stop here and do a pizza review.

Brad N

This is my favorite pizza place in Portland. It is great think crust style. My favorite thing is just a make your own pepperoni and fennel sausage. They also have very good and creative pizzas for their weekly specials. One I thought was awesome was a cheeseburger pizza. Tasted like a deconstructed burger.

Ben McGuirk

Good food, quick service, friendly workers. Accidentally stayeda little past closing and no one was rude about it.

Loraine Kubiak

We loved this restaurant so much that we went twice during our weekend in Portland. The salads and flatbreads were both incredible and the view is amazing.

Matt C

Gorgeous pizza! A bit on the pretentious side, but it's OK, we had a special which 2as taco, really really good.

KP Patel

The people at the restaurant gave us our food quickly and efficiently and it was delicious. A customer even forgot their jacket and an employee (Joseline, who was awesome.) ran a block out of the restaurant to return it. In all, this is a great place to eat if you want authentic and unique pizza in a quick time with an outstanding service.

Caroline Connell

Pizza was a little greasy, but it tasted great!! View was amazing! Crowd noise wasn't too bad for a busy time of day. Waitstaff were friendly and you should always check out the specials! For two of us, we split a small pizza, a beautiful and tasty arugala salad with goat cheese and wild blueberries, and a brownie sundae. If you are a healthy eater, you could easily get full on that.

Mark D

Great Pies. Great salads. Great Quality ingridients. Awesome beer selection. This is one of those micro chains. I've personally been to 4 of their locations in New England. Very Kid friendly awesome location in Portland. Fairly Pricey for a pizza joint, but at least the ingredients warrant the price. Waits can be long on the weekends. Many times we've wanted to go but weren't prepared to wait with the kiddos for 40 minutes.

Paulo Rodrigues

Excellent local restaurant that strives for local and organic ingredients. Half the table had a salad (highly recommend the steak salad) while the other half had a flat bread. The breads were also very savory, made in the oven right in the middle of the restaurant. Busy crowd at 6pm on a Tuesday. Had to wait a bit before being seated.

Lydia Bar-Sawme

Great atmosphere, amazing staff and delicious pizza and beer!

Kathleen Jarvis

Always great. Weekends busy. If you have kids arrive early otherwise you will wait with fussy young ones

Paul Furlow

Really really quality flavorful fresh pizza (it's pizza). Rustic dockside setting with plenty of space. Live acoustic singer was awesome. Great service. Perfect for kids or larger groups. Drink list is stellar and the view is very pleasing.

john paige

I’ve been to both locations in Conway and Portland, pretty much the same great service and the flatbread pizza is consistent and delicious. I would recommend the Cheese, pepperoni and or just ask for the roasted tomatoes. Awesome.

Joel Graves

Hands down the best pizza spot in Portland. The ingredients and servers are all well above average. Try the brownie sundae, you'll thank me later...

Dean Anthony

Excellent pizza. The guy working the oven is fun to watch.

Rick Nobers

Opportunity stop from Casco Bay Lines. Great location on the water with views. Inside and outside seating. Interior decor is cool with the chalkboards detailing beer, desserts among other things. Good pizza with several options and ability to customize. Very bready though and some concoctions need more toppings to fill up the bread. Only fault I find here but still tastes good. Beer selection good with a lot of beers specific to Maine (Allagash etc). Solid.

Chris and Amy Boivin

Love this place, great food and great scenery.

Abby Johnson

My best friends and I have been going here for at least 5 years, if not more. They do not take reservations, so always best to arrive sooner than you'd think. Staff is friendly and laid back; food is excellent. Some of the best thin-crust pizza in the country. Outdoor seating is always a little quieter but indoor has a great atmosphere, too. Extensive local beer selection a plus, too.

Trey Williams

The best pizza in Portland by far. It is a bit expensive, but the product is worth every penny.

Cody D

This place is amazing. The pizza is absolutely amazing. The clay oven with a wood burning fire is amazing!

Nathon Horton

Really good pizza. Great taplist with 24 options from within Maine covering all the major breweries. We ate inside but they had a very nice outside seating area with communal tables. There are a ton of great options in this area, but this one is worth a visit.

Erick Araya

The best pizza of all the state of Maine. Delicious and great attention a must place to visit.

Johnna Fay

Excellent food and service. Highly recommend. Lovely water view. Delicious beers on tap.

Wesley Buckalew

Great ME beer selection! Awesome pies!

Mike Egan

Great service and good food

Kathy Moore

Great locally sourced food and cocktails in a casual atmosphere.

Kiff Allen

Thin crust brick oven pizza-. What's not to like? Windows in this venue add a lot of charm and character. Service is quick. While the everyday menu is yummy enough, their seasonal/holiday/general specials are as tasty as they are creative.

Owen Phipps

Amazing pizza and one of the best tap lists in Portland. Dont miss this place. It's friend and kid friendly

Gordon O'Brien

Insanely delicious pizza, really good salad and excellent drinks. All on the water with excellent service and a great atmosphere. You can dine inside or outside, either way it's a fantastic dining experience I would highly reccomend!

Mark Michaud

First time here. Quick and good service and food was delicious

Jörn Adler

Nice place, good pizza

John McIlvaine

Super bomb pizza, we got the weekly special, bacon, smoked gouda, it was delicious. They have gluten free options ($5 extra), wood fired pizzas, lots of beers on tap and they do beer flights!

Aaron Womack

Vegans beware: Both my wife and I got sick. We will definitely not be returning ever again. It was the only meal we had in common today, so there's no other culprit. If you're not vegan, I'm sure you'll love it. They probably have some cross contamination issues or just don't vet ingredients with enough care.

Chef Lou

Awesome customer service great food

Adam B. Chuckran

pizza was one of a kind and filled with delicious herbs 5*

Gerry Tiernan

Always good. We go regularly. Excellent natural pizza, salads, local beer, killer desserts. All in a big rustic dining room on the Portland waterfront.

Kelly Duarte

Excellent food and atmosphere. Great location on Portland's waterfront. Always a good time and one of my fave Portland restaurants. Pepperoni and mushroom pizza always excellent. Also, the daily pizza special's are worth a try too.

Kelly Austin

Best pizza! You can taste the freshness of all the ingredients they use and it's in a cute location and fun restaurant atmosphere as well. This place is not to be missed!

Tammy Spengler

The waiter was awsome and the food was amazing.

Patty Golder

It was the best flatbread!!! Nice atmosphere and great bartender

Mark D
