Tried it for lunch at work. Food arrived earlie than expected, so I tipped generously. Wish I could take it back, because the food was horrendous. I'm a frequent customer at Green Leaves and Bamboo Garden in York, so I've gotten used to the somewhat greasy, salty type of Chinese food around here, but this was another beast entirely. My General Tso's chicken was mostly breading, and covered in the brown sauce used for beef and broccoli. I thought I had just gotten the wrong item so I went ahead and tried the pork fried rice- the best part of this meal- and it was entirely average. Nothing special there.
The egg roll was mostly pastry, with a tiny bit of cabbage that appeared to have been seasoned only with salt. No meat or other vegetables. Disgusting. The pork lo mein was just pork strips, water chestnuts, noodles, and soy sauce. That's no an oversimplification, there were no other seasonings, and there was a puddle of soy sauce at the bottom of the container. The chicken wings were, again, barely seasoned and mostly with salt. I have no idea how the cook managed to make chicken wings more bland than normal, but this guy is a real piece of work.
I would order again only if I were assured that everyone involved with the food had been fired and replaced with cooks of some competence. Honestly, this place is awful. If you want to really capture the essence of chun ping lau, go to the beach and eat some uncooked seaweed. Cheaper and most certainly better cooked.
