Not quite sure why this has so many great reviews. The food is average to poor, compared with other Chinese American places in the area, and it is definitely overpriced. I'm also pretty sure hot and sour soup is not supposed to taste like molasses (yuck).

I have been eating at China village since I was little. Always great food and friendly service. They went through a phase of really small portions but they have gotten back to good amounts for the price. Eat in or take out, they are very quick and the food is great.

Spent 15min trying to order with the women over the phone.. once finally done and came in to get my order, had to stand a wait awhile as the had the wrong order and number.. then when I got my order the extra sweet and sour sauce I order for extra money wasn't even half full.. so I could of just went with the provided sauce instead of wasting money..

The best Chinese in southern Maine. Good for dining in or take-out. Restaurant is minimally decorated and nothing fancy, but the place is family friendly and the food and drinks are awesome. My family doesn't get Chinese food anywhere else.

clean place,friendly people but unfortunately the food is overwhelmingly terrible and thats the most important part,the rice was mooshy and soaked in some type of sauce,the general tsos was terrible!there was barely sauce on it and it was spongy not like any general tsos ive ever had before it was like they microwaved it and forgot to put the general tsos sauce on it, my kids love chinese food and they took a bite or 2 and my wife ended up having to cook them something else,the crab ragoons were ok dipped in sweet in sour,the low Mayne wasnt very good mooshy like the rice ,nice restaurant,bad food with a microwaved type texture to it ,not sure how they get good reviews ive eatin there twice the first time the food was bad and i gave them one more shot because its been over a year and this time was even worse,only good thing is that none of us feel bloated or anything because we barely ate any of the food!

The Axelsen boys hang out there chow down there in late August of every year. The food here is wicked awesome and there drinks are wicked good! I had a pearl harbor and it was wicked good. We wore our Axelmania shirts and our experience was very good!!!!

I don't understand the people saying this is the best chinese in Maine. Ive only been here once but the orange chicken was unbreaded and the spare ribs had no sauce on them. Maybe everything else is good, but those two items were trash.

I've eaten at MANY authentic Chinese food restaurants (in Boston, Worcester, etc) and cooked a great deal of authentic Chinese recipes. I didn't know Chinese food could be this bland. Lots of oil and very little flavor. Unfortunately this is "American Chinese" food at it's worst.

We called to place an order and when I got there I was told that it would be a few more minutes but it was more like twenty minutes. The staff was very apologetic and even took twenty percent off the bill. The food was hot and delicious and I would certainly go back again. Excellent customer service.

The minute I walked in the place I could tell it was dirty and hadn't been cleaned in awhile. The enviroment was ok but didn't have the greatest feel to it, staff was nice. FOOD WAS HORRIBLE! Tasted like they put beef gravy on my lo main.

Above Average American Chinese Food 3/5 Crab Rangoon We got crab rangoon as an appetizer. There were tons of crab rangoons. The stuffing was good but the wrapper was not crispy enough. 1/5 Egg Roll This came with my combo platter. It was a lot longer than the typical eggroll, and the outside was not hard and crispy. I could barely taste the stuffing because there was so much bready wrapper. This was definitely the low point of the meal. 4/5 General Tsos This is the most important thing. I always get it at Chinese restaurants. The flavor was on point. I'd prefer it to be spicier, though. The chicken was not gross, as it often is with general tsos. It was white with a good, consistent texture.

Food is ok but very greasy. Great crab rangoons. Vegetable lo mein was more vegetable then lo mein and the vegetables were very undercooked some were even still frozen at the center, the lo mein had obviously been sitting in its own grease to long in the wok.

What a perfectly wonderful WASTE of $55 in Chinese takeout!! Let me first say that our food was piping hot when we got home, so it’s not like it was sitting for a long time. That said, the first thing we noticed was that the fried dumplings were soggy! So soggy. Yuck. They looked and tasted like they were fried in a fryalator, not pan fried like the good stuff. And they had little to no flavor. As for the crab rangoons, almost no crab! They’re called CRAB rangoons. Not cream cheese pockets. Also, maybe add some onion or something for a little flavor other than straight up cream cheese. Grrrr. The house fried rice looked very promising when we opened the container. Lots of veggies and shrimp and pork and..... some other mystery meat. We thought “okay maybe this will make up for the other stuff.” We both took a bite and my hubby and I looked at each other with total disappointment. It had a really really weird flavor! I make better fried rice at home! My hubby had boneless ribs and said they also had no flavor - he was dipping them in the duck sauce just to get something other than dried flavorless pork. First time ever that we didn’t save the leftovers. Booooo. Never ordering here again.

There food is amazing and customer service is out of this world awesome. Always a super friendly staff! You can not beat China Village.
