My favorite neighborhood Chinese. Very generous portions oh, lovely staff, good price, better for takeout than dine in. They only have a few tables inside. I have ordered basically everything from their menu to feed large family gatherings.. . Everyone was happy every time. Plus one of their cashiers knows all about the show Adventure Time, win-win.

I've been a loyal customer of 4 star China taste for about 8 years now and I can confidently say I've never had a bad meal nor experienced poor service - everything has always been delicious, affordable, and prompt. The menu offers variety for even the pickiest of eaters and it's all made fresh to order. Favorites are the Hunan chicken, Mongolian beef, spring rolls, and mai fun. I honestly eat here about every two weeks and I am never let down. Thanks for your delicious food!

Yellow rice yuck... The beef teriyaki tasted like liquorice or anise and was slimy... The only thing good was the crab grangoons but they had no crab in them all cream cheese.... If this is good Chinese food to you I feel bad for you.... Go to China villa or valley so much better

WOW! SO disappointed!! Just spent $30 and got a bunch of nasty food ! Crabragoons were disgusting very sour tasting. The fried rice is SO plain and gross !! I USUALLY get from China valley but tonight there closed

This is my go-to place for Americanized Chinese food in Portland. I've gotten food here probably around 50 times over the last few years and have always been happy or ecstatic with what I get. I've turned on other people to this place also and out of 30 or so different people, everyone except for 1 person has agreed with me regarding how good the food is.

Have had trouble finishing lately. China Taste did the trick. Dumplings and crab Rangoon were off the charts amaze. Entire meal went great with chocky milky.

Get this, I call for 2 lunch specials at $6.95 each. The lady tells me the minimum order for delivery is $15 and I'm at $14....So I'm like, you charge a delivery charge so what does it matter what I'm spending? Besides I'm ordering two lunches, isn't that good enough? It's not like I'm ordering one eggroll!!! She like why don't you just buy a water....So I'm like why don't you go pound sand!!! Ordered there all the time, never again!!!

I love China Taste in Portland! We've offered from here numerous times over the past few years when hubby and I still lived in Portland. The service is always great and really quick, including delivery. One gentleman who delivered was excellent. He ended up being or regular driver and we'd always have good conversation about the weather, our kids, etc. The people there are great! The food is excellent, too. I love their crab rangoons - a nice, sweet taste to them. Their fried rice is different than most places I've been too, but it's really good! Both their wonton soup and hot and sour soup are wonderful. I've tired a lot of things on their menu and I've loved almost everything. The only dish I tried and wasn't overly thrilled with was their chicken curry. Other than that, they are awesome!

I'm all about food accoutrements and they always provide: plenty of the meats and a wide variety of veggies. Most take-outs give me a handful of sad bell peppers and send me on my way, not these guys. Water chestnuts, onions, carrots YOU NAME IT

We ordered two completely different meals, one vegetarian and one non-vegetarian. The tofu was not good- asked for extra veggies and got extra tofu. The beef in the other meal was weird and made me feel like it was greasy. Will not order from here again.

Actually haven't eaten here for a couple of years. I used to order here at least once a week. The boneless pork was always flavorful and hot, as was the chicken teriyaki. But one night after a long day I ordered delivery. First bite of rice I feel something weird in my mouth. I pull out a three piece of steel wool. Called them and they refunded me in full the next day. Also told them to be more careful using steel wool to clean there containers and woks. Can't bring myself to eat there again. And that stinks because up until then, the food was awesome

The people who work there seem really kind and professional. The food is classic "American" Chinese food. It was exactly what I was expecting, and really perfect for when you have a craving for something a little greasy or don't want to cook. They are my go-to.

Very small dinning area, probably best to do take out or delivery if you must. I live around the corner and love this place. More times than not when I pick up my order I see the daily special and cant help but add it. Sitting there enjoying eating dinner, leaving my girlfriend at home waiting. I tried very hard to think of a single entree to right about, but every one I've had is great. But no matter what, I always get a couple egg rolls and some crab rangoon.

We tried this place after a recommendation from a family member, and called in an order for takeout on Christmas day. I don't normally write reviews at all but felt obligated because the food was (mostly) foul. Both of our chicken (orange and General Tso's) dishes (mine and my SO's) were slimy and mushy, and were almost entirely batter and no chicken. They weren't crispy like they were supposed to be and it was hard to tell whether the chicken was actually cooked through. The only reason I'm not giving one star is because the crab rangoon was actually decent--crispy, flavorful and tasted like they made them from scratch, unlike a lot of other places. I really wanted to like this place because Portland is in serious need of decent Chinese food, but we definitely won't be coming back here. Sorry, China Taste.

if I could give no stars I would. meat is suspect. beef teriyaki is slimy and fatty. fried rice is just like white rice with a few peas. here is the thing, the people who are giving good reviews have never had decent Chinese food or have suffered from a terrible accident and lack taste buds. Go to Valley. Empire, Zen and Bao Boa make this place look like a soup kitchen.

I have a degree from the Culinary Institute of America and this is easily the best Chineese food in the greater portland area. My wife and I lived in portland and ate there as often as possible. But now that we live in the westbrook whindham area we cant find any Chineese food worth getting.... So when ever we get a craving one of us has to break down and drive the 30ish minutes to come back and get it. we have never had a bad experience here and love it every time
