Food is average, but done expect special order, asked for it cooked more because they undertook and i got my delivery an hour and a half late to prove a point, cooked the same as usual. This is the second time ive attempted tovhave my food cooked extra because i do prefer a cheaper option but they refuse. I verefied my address because last time I asked for my food cooked extra they got sent on a wild goose chase and yet they got the address wrong again. They do small things to prove a point and its petty ive eaten there 3 times, strictly for price, first time undercooked other 2 times asking for it to be cooked a bit more it was cooked the same and didnt get it for over an hour and a half later. Do not recommend.

I have never ordered from China Light before. So I decided to try it because other Chinese restaurants in Bangor are now overpriced and the food is not always great. I called China Light to ask about their menu, and the girl on the phone was really nice and explained the combination meals to me in great detail. She told me to call back if I had any other questions. Once I ordered and the delivery guy arrived, he was really friendly. I opend the door and he greeted me with a "sup" as he pointed to my door mat that had "sup" on it which started a conversation about my door mat and we had a good laugh. China Light has the best Chinese food in Bangor and some of the friendliest staff I've seen! I have never had a delivery driver with a sense of humor before. China Light is definitely where it's at!

If they cut or reduced their obnoxious $5 delivery fee maybe their drivers would get better tips and wouldn’t be compelled to take an hour to deliver your food and passively guilt trip you about their tip at your door for 10 mins. Used to love this place, but two “boxes” of food almost cost me $30 with delivery charges, an oddly high “tax” and a tip, just not worth it to me anymore. Safe to say I’m done with China Light.

Went in to eat there was six tiny pieces of pork in two orders of pork fried rice and that was all that was in it I went in to eat on a day that it was 15 degrees outside told them it was cold in the restaurant they said the heat must stay on 63 and cold not go any higher called to tell them I would not come back

China Light used to be the best place to get good Chinese food at a good price.. well.. times have changed. Not very long ago it cost around $12.00 give or take for 2 people to have a quick meal.. now that same meal is over $16.00. In comparison 2 of us can eat at a local steak house for around $25.00 (if we do not get the $15 steaks) Food is still good usually.. but from time to time orders do not taste as they should either.. something that never happened a few years ago. Still.. its one of the better places to get Chinese food without spending a ton.. but I just want my $5.95 meals back.

Been eating here since the early 90's and its been one of the best take outs around. Service has never been exactly friendly but I've never really cared, over the years you get used to it. Many combos/variations and choices to have here you'll get what you want fairly cheap and fast. The only gripe that prevented me from giving 5 stars has been inconsistency in quality. Which isnt often but does happen on occasion.

Inexpensive, decent take-out Chinese food served up fast in styrofoam boxes, usually filled to the brim. LOTS of combination plate specials. It can be tricky getting in and out of the parking lot. There is limited diner style seating inside. No table service, you just carry your tray to your own table.

I placed my order over the phone, the person who took my order even read it back to me. When it arrived, they got my order WRONG and when I called them and kindly asked them if they could correct it, they were very rude about it. I will not order again from this place.

I tried them twice before once when i was going to school here and they were good then and when i came back an then last night, the last 2 times my food tasted like metallicy! I asked for my spareribs to be slightly burned in the broiler and the spareribs tasted like they were thrown into the fryolater because it tasted really greasey which the No.1 does the same with their spare ribs! They are nice people but they dont listen! This why I rather go to Boston and get my chinese food fix down there instead of up here! Oh the chicken soup was the only thing worth the trip even though it in a small container!

. NEVER in my life have I been treated so rudely by a restuarant. I ordered a meal from China light in Bangor and what I received was not what I ordered. So i politely called them and asked if they could make this right. In return the manager wanted to argue with me for 15 minutes on the phone telling me they didn't make a mistake and gave me the correct order. As my receipt told a different story. So finally the manager said she would send the driver back out and make it right. Another hour has gone by so I called again and got hung up on. He finally arrived WITH NO FOOD. wanted to take back the food I had already paid for and leave me with nothing and make me wait another hour and a half for my original order. Delivery driver was rude. I ended up getting my money back. Would give no stars if possible.

Quality has gone down hill quite a bit the last few years...ordered cashew chicken and got 4 chunks of rubbery chicken consisting of nothing else but water chestnuts celery and onion and a white coconut milk looking sauce tried the cashews and they tasted boiled.. disgusting!!

this place is awful, we have ordered have several time an every single time they mes up our orders. When we call back we can hear the people in the back ground saying to bad if they didn't get it they have to pay for it. We agreed to paying for it an was told it would only take 20 mins to get to us, we didn't receive the food for another hour. Also the food had no flavor an was cold. They will not be receiving any more of our business.

China Light is the poorest excuse for a restauraunt in the Bangor area. This was our first time trying China Light and we were excited to try it. We called and ordered our dinner which was two simple meals, and was told that it would be delivered in 45 minutes. We wait, and wait, and wait, and wait some more....1 hour and 45 minutes later we call, get hung up on, call back and state that we feel as if we should not have to pay for our meals because of the long wait. We were then told that if we did not pay, we will not receive our meal, and that they were calling their driver to cancel the order and was told that "we only have one driver on tonight".....that's not our problem, sir, you clearly need to staff better. Worst customer service I have ever received at any restauraunt in this area. Will never be eating there and will be spreading the word to everyone I know.

The food is excellent, and the service is generally good. I love Egg Rolls, but I don't like the Egg Rolls here. To offset this, they have some of the best Lo Mein of any restaurant I have been to, and I haven't disliked anything else so far. Recommended!

This is my go-to cheap Chinese takeout joint in Bangor. The food is tasty, the restaurant is no-frills, and the orders are filled VERY quickly most nights. Sometimes, I can call at 5:30, put on my coat, drive down the street for a couple of miles, and literally have my food ready and waiting.

I understand why my meal was so affordable. Pork fried rice was dry, egg roll was a joke and the pork lo mein had over cooked pork and more onions than noodles. To top it off, 6 hours later I was violently vomiting. Never going back.

Ordered $40 worth of food, they sent an item that was wrong. The main part of our meal. When I called they argued with me about what I had received and said they would send the delivery driver back to pick it up and that the chefs had to look at it to make sure it was not what I ordered and then they would send me what I had orginally purchased. so now I have to wait another hour before me and my kid can eat....not impressed with their service at all and won't be ordering from them again after years and years of supporting their restaurant. I would give this place a negative star rating of it was an option.

We go here all the time. But last night was probably the last time. I placed my order in store because I couldn't get through on the phone being Christmas eve. They told me they were putting it right through so about 20 minutes. My mom was coming to pick it up and pay. Well I get a call 45 minutes later that she was still waiting. So I drive back there and ask what's Going on. They were rude, yelling at me that they were busy. I said I orderes in side an hour ago and my mom's been waiting and has paid and still hasn't gotten our food. And you keep telling her it's coming. WELL to find out they actually lost our slip, never placed the order to be cooked and it took them an hour and me coming back to figure this out. They had an order they had been calling out for 45 minutes so my mom asked what was in it thinking maybe the slips got switched and they women with long hair was so rude, said wasn't ours, couldn't tell us what was in the bag and when we asked her to look she refused it said it's not your slip. Even the delivery driver asked them to look as well incase it had the wrong slip she blew up at him, yelling I know what's in there it isn't theirs. I've been yelling out the number for 45 minutes and I'm never working Christmas Eve again. They finilly got anotther worker to help look for our order and he finally found our slip in the already picked up and paid bin. So for an hour they told us we're busy it's not ready when they really never placed it or missed tagged it and gave it to someone else , who when got home was probably mad not getting the correct order. I said I would like our food and I want my mom back. They laughed at me and said "not going to happen", but would ask anyway. We heard one of the ladies say " food or money". I said I want both and again super rude they said " food or money not both". So my mom didn't want to cause any more of a scene and people were waiting for us at home to eat so we took the food which we had to wait for them to make and when we got home some was raw and others were over cooked. So point to this story the holiday rush got the best of these workers and they messed up, took it out on the customer and made it a very bad experience for all, the restaurant was full, so the poor customer service that we indured for 20 minutes was seen by many and even people who worked there were embarrassed by the treatment we recieved, shaking there heads and giving us that " I'm so sorry look". So even though we didn't let it ruin our night, it did delay everything we had planned and the little ones had to wait way longer and later to start the festivities and delayed bed time. We come to this place every Christmas Eve for the past 10 years and last night was the last. WORST srvice I've recieved in a long time.

I ordered chicken and mushroom and beef and mushroom with a lo mein and a Pepsi. I got the chicken and beef and mushroom not the lo mein and the Pepsi. Mind you my chicken and beef were dumped upside down and all over the place inside of the bag! I called and they repeatedly hung up on me after telling me that they needed the food back to give to a manager before he could give me back my money. So I obviously asked to talk to the manager. I'm then told their isn't one she meant the owner. I was hung up on multiple times, and when I asked for a receipt I was told they didn't have one. When I clearly saw it in the delivery guys hand. I will NOT buy from here again and I will be claiming this transaction as fraud with my bank! Lucky I don't get the police involved! Definitely would NOT recommend anyone to buy here!

The girl behind the counter was rude beyond rude! As soon as I walked in she snapped "ordering or picking up?" After I paid and she was handing me my food I asked for duck sauce and hot mustard, I was cut off and told there was duck sauce in the bag and "you didn't ask for hot mustard, asking for it when you order would be appreciated". I worked overtime am tired, hungry and not in the mood for the person whom I am giving my money to, to be rude and ignorant! If she hates her job so much she needs to find a new one!! Best place to eat if you want to quickly grab some Chinese food during lunch or on your way home from work. Quality is usually very good, friendly staff (no idea what others are talking about, they were probably the rude ones...) and conveniently located. Only reason I subtracted a star is because the consistency (like most Chinese restaurants around the area) is occasionally hit or miss.

If I could rate lower I would. $40 worth of food shows up over two hours after we ordered it and the delivery guy smelled like alcohol. The food was cold and soggy by the time it got to us, we ended up throwing most of it away because it was too gross to eat.

Absolutely the worst service I have ever had from a restaurant. I placed my order at 5:16pm, by 6:18pm I had not seen or heard from the restaurant so I called them. They knew exactly who I was once I stated I placed an order for delivery. I was told that they had not yet made put my meal together because they were waiting for the driver to get back so my food would not be cold and that it was going out the door right then. At 7pm almost an hour after I placed my order and over forty minutes after I called to see where my order was it arrived at my house. All of my food was completely cold and disgusting. I have never had such a horrible experience with a restaurant and will definitely NOT order from this place again.

I placed an order online and realized i put in the wrong order so i called to try to cancel it and the women kept answering and putting me on hold without giving me two seconds to tell her i needed to cancel. Then i called back and she answered the phone with a rude attitude and yelled at me on the phone and proceeded to say "you calling is not going to help me finish this order im trying to put in" than hung up on me. So the 3rd time i finially got her to answer asked to speak to a manager and she said there wasnt one so i told her to cancel my order and she did. I will never order from here again. Rudest customer service ever.
