REVIEWS OF Becky's Diner IN Maine

Tom Harden

Becky's Diner gets fine reviews and I can see why. Large portions at fair prices. Food tastes great. Best Clam Chowder I have ever eaten. Fish and chips were very good. Many locals eat here, some more than once a week, that says a lot. Great place to people watch also. We had to wait a bit for a table....they're popular!

Paul Wilson

Of the 4 places we went for lunch and dinner, Becky's turned out to be the best in quantity, quality and price. Their lobster rolls were filled with lobster meat and they offered a few different table sauces to give the roll a different flavor other than lemon and butter or mayo. The variety of food selection was the best for our family with kids. The service was excellent and if I'm ever in Portland again, I will be sure to stop by for a bite.

Susan Williams

Extensive menu. Everything was delicious.

Valerie Dickinson

Reasonable wait. Comfortable, charming inside. Food excellent, service friendly, and efficient.Varied and interesting MENU. VEGGIE SAUSAGE IN MY OMELET WAS THE BEST I have ever eaten!

Ignacio luna

Good ambiance, great food, fast service.

Vince Curletta

Excellent breakfast! I haven't tried lunch or dinner, but I bet they're great. There's always a wait, but it's worth it!

Karl Zwaschka

Great food and fast service. Our 4 year old loved the kids bathroom!

Becky Morris

The homemade corn beef hash was amazing!! Our waitress was amazing!! Loved the atmosphere!!

Cassandra L

Excellent for both breakfast and dinner! Fast service and delicious food!

First off, 2 Stars is a bit low, because you literally just have to be able to serve food for 2 Stars. If I could, it would be a 2.5. To start, the google and Trip Advisor reviews on this place makes you think you are about to step into the “End All, Be All” of Breakfast. Breakfast is all I can speak of, but given my first impressions, I don't think I will be testing my luck with any other dinning option. Let’s begin with service, we were seated promptly and greeted politely. Food service was average, nothing mind blowing and I don’t fuss much about that, as long as your personality and attitude aren’t worse than a dead fish. Next is the food, I advise you, please bring your salt and pepper and whatever other seasoning can make food taste good. SUPER BLAND...... everything tasted the same, and by the same, I mean tasteless. We had an omelette, French toast, eggs, toast and home fries. I was very disappointed with what fellow reviewers had rated this place and not impressed by any way of this restaurant. I like to state, we love to eat at dive dinners and especially for breakfast. The taste of food off a greasy griddle that has been cooked on for years is the best. This place was a dive far from appealing.

Brandon Cooke

Absolutely fantastic food. The clam chowder was amazing with a twist, it had bacon in it. Fried whole belly clams were wonderful and could tell that they were fresh. 100% recommend this joint.

michael standish

Food was good, omelet toast. Seated other people before me so not sure if you can make reservations. Don"t sit next to lobster tank.

Jack Geary

Better have two stomachs for their generous portions.

tyler brumet

My wife and I went around lunch time on a weekday. It was busy but not overcrowded, instead of waiting for a booth we opted to sit at the counter right away. I ordered a crab cake sandwich, which was a special that day, and my wife ordered a lobster club. The service was very good and the food was excellent. The food was hot, fresh and arrived in reasonable amount of time. I normally don't recommend specific dishes but if you like seafood I highly recommend the crab cake sandwich. My only caution would be that I can see parking being an issue at peak times. We will be eating there again, hopefully soon.

Kenneth Lerman

When it opens at four in the morning, there's no line, fast service, and great food. You can read your newspaper at your leisure. At eight fifteen, the next day, the line was out the door. Oh well, we went somewhere else. Definitely not as good.

Jillian Rosenberg

I visited Becky's on a Saturday around 10:30am, and there was a 35-40 minute wait. Pretty normal for Portland restaurants in the summer. After 35 minutes we were seated at the counter. I ordered the pancake special, blueberry pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream, and my boyfriend ordered a combo with French toast, eggs, hashbrowns, sausage and toast. All the food was tasty, especially the pancakes, potatoes, and sausage. If you like diner food, and don't mind waiting, Becky's is definitely worth a visit.

Jerry Leone

Comfort food, good service. Right on commercial street. Ample parking. Ate here a couple of times and I'd go back.

Teri Philhower

Awesome 20 min wait on a Sunday seated quickly on outdoor patio could not ask for a more beautiful view. Homemade corned beef hash.. loaded blueberry pancakes excellent. Waitress very good...Service excellent. 5 stars would highly recommend.

Jeff Slaton

Great place with great service. Blueberry pancakes are awesome.

Andrea Olson

Great breakfast, classic diner experience and delicious mimosa. Have patience with the wait and you'll be rewarded.

Patricia Cuddeback

As always, you cannot beat Becky's. Just love their pancakes and hash.

TheDumoulin333

I had the best chilidog I have ever tasted in 42 years.ill drive all the way back to Maine 3.5 hours just to eat there again!!!

Jake B

Pretty decent diner food, but it's one of those places that suffers from having too much on the menu. Our friend got a lobster roll, which looked pretty good, lots of lobster in it, maybe a little too much mayo. I had a fish sandwich, which was delicious. My wife had pasta with seafood Alfredo. There was a lot of seafood in it, but the sauce itself was kind of gloppy. It's maybe a bit out of the wheelhouse of a place like this to offer a menu item like that. I also had clam chowder, which was also a little overly thickened, but did taste delicious. Service was very friendly and prompt, and when there was a minor issue with my wife's food, our waitress was deeply apologetic and took the order off of our check without any argument at all. Honestly a very friendly place, and I think if you stick to basic seafood and diner food, you'll have a good experience.

Victor Roderick

Good breakfast on the water side in downtown Portland. The homemade corned beef hash is very good. The service could use some improvement.

Jeff Post

Wow! What a great place for breakfast. Right next to the water and the specials were amazing. Friendly staff and service and very helpful as well. There is a short wit but it is more then worth it at peak breakfast hours.

Bench Man

Great food. Great survice. Will come back again.

kevin stermer

Best breakfast in Portland! Hands down. We had a 20 min wait but I get why, it was delicious. The homemade sweet and spicy sauce that is on the table is really good on everything. I had to buy a bottle to take home. It Wasnt expensive like other places either. Great value for the portions.

Heath Lafountain

Price was decent. Lobster roll is good, fried haddock sandwich was good, service was friendly. Not as much of a water front view as it sounded tho

brewandbbq

Tasty diner food with a bit if a view from the porch. Great service.

John Steele

2 important things I consider in ranking: 1. Would I recommend the place? Ans: A big yes 2. How far would I go out of my way to eat there? Ans: 30 or so miles. The lobster bisque was GREAT.

Rebecca Bock

Worth the wait!! Food was amazing and staff was attentive. Lobster omelet is a must for breakfast!

Randall Hadsell

Very busy place, but once you get seated the service was fast (we were on the patio deck upstairs, it was a nice day). I had a Turkey Club Sandwich, it was so big I could only eat half.

Danice Breen

Food was great and service was the best. You'll be happy you ate here.

Andrew Dunham

Becky's is a gastronomic American dream realized. Nobody ever leaves disappointed. Always first restaurant meal upon returning to my hometown of Portland. Best tuna melt in America. And yes, I have ordered a second to be delivered five minutes later. Grilled to perfection, the first arrives with chips, second with fries. On an ordering while famished occasions, the requisite Becky's homemade dessert is easily ordered to-go. Many thanks to the talent in kitchen and the servers for consistently being a shining example of Maine's 'finest kind' hospitality. ✌

Tom Bander

Great service and blueberry pancakes. Solid omelettes and other diner fare. Lovely local spot.

Elizabeth Eubanks

Wow what a great little diner! Highly recommend the grilled blueberry muffin, so good! We loved how friendly everyone was and also how early they are open. It’s the perfect place to eat breakfast then catch a sunrise at the nearby lighthouses. We enjoyed our visit so much that we went twice on our five day trip!

Veronica McCoy

A huge thank you to our taxi driver who recommended Becky's Diner. Absolutely a local favorite. My sister and I pretty much stood out as tourist but everyone didn't treat us differently or otherwise. Todd was just great. Highly recommend visiting this local gem. I'd definitely will return.

Rachel Hinkley

Fast and friendly service. Had breakfast here and the portions were good. The restaurant is on the water, but we didn't have views of that on the first floor. Close to Old Port/downtown area and was very busy.

Hannah Arber

Amazing seafood!! Prices are very reasonable as well. The wait can be long if you have a larger party. We only were 2, so we got in right away.

Angie Evoy

This was our first stop in Portland! The lobster roll was delicious and my husband had the onion rings rather than Cole slaw and he said they were fantastic. I believe it was $24.95 but we did get the fries and rings with the Sammy and it had a lot of lobster on it.

Lito Vega

Que little spot in Maine. Awesome food, very very cool if your into diners. Right on the pier too!

Douglas Goodman

A local place that serves good food. Went there based on review and had a lobster roll. The meal was as good as the review stated.

Dayne Morris

Ok..... The first thing that i wanted to try in Maine was Blueberry's.... Blueberry Pancakes, and this Awesome place did NOT Disappoint!! But i will say that it was the Red in the Red White & Blue Pancakes that really took it to a next level for Me. The strawberry's were a perfect match for these (just really perfectly done) Pancakes. Enjoyed them very much. And Bonus the walk from the Westin was ALL DOWN HILL!!!!!

David W. Vire

Most amazing waitstaff ever. Had wife laughing everytime she stopped by. Lobster omelet, Irish eggs Benedict.

Amy Martinez

Great food, super friendly staff.

Quinn Peters

Lobster rolls are really good. I’m not sure it’s worth over an hour’s wait though. Still, the service was excellent after we were seated. I’m sure there are other great lobster rolls in town, so if you arrive on a cruise it might be better to eat elsewhere and save some time.

Erin146

I tried booking a party for my son after attending several nice parties at Becky's... she called me and said the day was available and she would call back to go over the menu and pricing. She never called. I called her FIVE times each time speaking with another employee who promised she would return my call. Now I am 7 days out from the party and left scrambling trying to book somewhere else. Thanks a lot, Becky. I will remember this and share with all my friends and family who frequent this diner. This is ridiculous and unprofessional.

Akane Morii

Went for lunch. Expect a bit of wait, but food is worth it. Staple food of Maine done exceptionally well. Clam chowder was so thick and creamy. Portions are big. So big that we did not need dinner that night. Parking is limited, so you may have to wait for a spot or find parking elsewhere and walk. If you park on site, you may need to move your car in the middle of your meal to let the other car out.

Casey Conklin

Delicious little diner in Portland! Phenomenal clam chowder! Yummy french toast!

Joey Herschbach

Good food, reasonable diner food...swaps for Keto Friendly options holding back 5 stars

Julie Jaworski

Great local atmosphere with good food!

Hank Lang

Becky's is a Portland delight. You can feed yourself and the kids . It is not gourmet cuisine but it is good and reasonably priced. I do not know whether it caters to vegetarians or vegans.

Cheryl Brewer

Reviews of this place are terrific and I adored the throwback ambiance. However, there were problems. Hubby ordered fried!!! scallops (anathema to foodies and shellies). Yet, somehow they were delightful. Best thing on the plate except for the excellent coleslaw. Sadly, the hand cut fries were so soggy and totally limp. Barely recognizable. How can you successfully fry a fresh scallop and ruin a potato? Hush puppies would have been such an expected guest on the haddock fish and chips plate.

Christine

Great breakfast spot. Everything my table ordered was delicious. The servings are plentiful. We were going hiking after breakfast and the breakfast held us over. The Blueberry Cornbread French Toast was amazing!

Kimberly

Fast but delicious diner breakfast. Gets really busy so go early or expect a wait. Staff is very friendly and attentive!!

M G

Service was great. Super friendly. There is wait time. Food was good.

Kissy Govan

Coming from South Carolina, I've been living off patient's word of mouth on great "Must Do-List" food places... And Becky's was one of the places on their list... And boy, The haddock was delicious, tender and seasoned perfectly. Get environment and friendly customer service...

Rick Knowles

you choose your dining experience Start with the seating, choose classic diner counter, booth, or on the other side standard restaurant style, or outside, seaside dining. Next up, are you there for the all day breakfast? I've had the omelettes, excellent, (though, didn't go all the way to the 4 egg omelette). Lunch is the classic Maine seafood offerings along with sandwiches. My goto is the whole belly clams off the lunch/dinner menu and they are fantastic. The staff is great and there is a lively vibe to the place.

Varrick Nunez

Perfect American diner experience. We went for a Sunday breakfast arriving early, about 8 a.m. March 17, 2019, and lucked into a table almost immediately. My wife and I tried, and loved, the corned beef Benedict, perfectly poached eggs over homemade corned beef with outstanding home fries. Coffee was quite good, we had great service too. Altogether, a great meal, thanks!

Amos Cline

I have had to travel to Portland many times these past few months. I have walked into many restaurants, looked at the menus and prices and walked out. The restaurants I did eat at provided marginal quality food at extremely high prices. Many considered themselves trendy and served "Tapas", which means very little food on very small plates for unbelievable prices. You need 4 or 5 plates to get full, it could cost 80 to 100 dollars for a good meal. This "Tapas" idea was dreamed up by the restaurant trade, they may as well hit you on the head with a big stick and take your wallet and tell you you ate well when you wake up. It is a wonder folks in Portland, Maine do not starve to death for lack of a place to eat, if they do eat they cannot pay the rent. My wife and I were finally told about Becky's Diner. We went there today. My wife had the lobster roll and I had a bowl of fish chowder. The lobster roll was served with sweet potato fries and coleslaw. The fish chowder came in a very large bowl and was of excellent quality. My wife said the lobster was fresh, not frozen and it was the best lobster roll she had ever eaten. Lobster roll is my wife's favorite food and she has a fine palate for judging the dish. I lived on the coast of Maine for 12 years and have had fish chowder from some of the best local wives that were known widely for their chowders, this chowder was as good as any I have ever had and there was lots of it. We saw what some of the other patrons were eating, all the food looked good. The portions were very large and the prices were very good. This is a "BIG PLATE" restaurant and there is something good on that big plate. There is only one place to eat in Portland, Maine... Becky's Diner. I will not eat at any other restaurant in Portland. This is an oasis in a food desert.

Paul Shietze

Lobster was great and the staff was friendly.

Lynn Barker

Becky's Diner reminded me that great seafood is best served fried, steamed or in chowder form. We enjoyed great service, fresh and well prepared seafood and very good iced tea.

The Sanders

Awesome! They accommodated our party of 11 (with 1 wheelchair) quickly. Staff was SO kind & inviting. Food was delicious....perfectly cooked double lobster dinners, buttery lobster rolls & even the burgers & fries were fantastic. We were so stuffed we had to get dessert to go.. and it was SO worth it!!

John Poulin

The best service friendly and fast food to die for

Nate Lambson

It lived up to the hype. The food was delicious and the employees were very friendly.

Murray Industries

Quick service and great food. Loved the fried haddock Reuben for lunch

Paddy McCarthy

Great diner that serves both the tourist and working communities of Portland. Attentive service and good straightforward food. Even when there is a wait, the line moves fairly quickly - there is a lot of seating! They can get you oft the door quickly if you are on a schedule, or make time for a more-relaxed meal.

Lauren Keen Aumond

We ate breakfast here twice while on our honeymoon in Portland. We waited both times, once for 30 minutes and once for 15. These were on weekdays too! Definitely recommend starting with a grilled muffin. The other meals, pancakes, and omelets were good! The service is polite, friendly, and quick!

Emily Woods

Crazy good lobster! I decided to mix it up a bit and have a lobster swiss melt on (swirled) rye...delish! I'm still dreaming of it. You know it's a good spot when you sit next to a local who thinks it's the best lobster roll in the state.

Barbara T

Best food in town. Fried clams are fresh and perfectly cooked. Other food is fresh abd delish too. My first choice of all casual places in town.

Wen Mela

I was told this place was a good spot for breakfast, but we went for dinner and ate like the locals! The lobster roll is a must!

Destiny Bell

I really wished they had sweet tea. The oatmeal creme pie is a dream! I ordered an omelette with spinach and cheese which was good. I would recommend skipping the potatoes if your a person that likes them cooked with seasoning. The french toast was also good. My waitress was nice and I would come back again.

Matthew Gammon

I love this place! The service is excellent, the food is out of this world and everyone is friendly. The way it should be. Becky's is a model of how a restaurant should operate

John Corrigan

Becky's is always a great experience. The only problem for hungry Northern Mainers is finding a parking space anywhere to traditional meal times.

Linda Kapovich

Delicious clam chowder and fried shrimp. Very friendly staff and fun environment.

Gene Grossi

Very popular, especially in the summer, so be prepared to wait. Food is excellent and reasonably priced. Very courteous staff.

Colleen Prakop

We stopped here to have lunch on our way past Portland, because it kept showing up on lists of places to eat in Portland. We decided based on all the reviews it had to be good. I ordered the fried haddock, and I grew up right next to Cape Cod, so I judge fried fish harsher than Simon Cowell judging mildly talented performers. I dare say, this was one of the best pieces of fried fish I’ve ever had in my life. I would honestly drive back to Portland just to eat here again. Don’t judge a book by its cover!

Anne Wendt

The atmosphere was cute and the waitress pleasant but that did not make op for the lobster omelette. “Omelette” was a thin rubbery crepe like oblong of eggs cooked on a griddle with tough lobster chunks rolled inside. An omelette is thick and fluffy with ingredients incorporated into the eggs. It should be cooked in an omelette pan!

S C

Stopped in to Becky’s for the first time to enjoy breakfast. The Maine blueberry pancakes are TO DIE FOR. Yes, they have lobster eggs, but resist the temptation and get these. You won’t regret it.

Jerry Garcia

Great place to eat.. they are on top of their game! Excellent service.. very satisfying meal

Jessica in your eyes Moore

I liked the atmosphere until I had the fish (haddock) chowder for lunch. It was a watery soup with bacon in it. Yuck. Next time I will order something else. Very bummed for a first time visit in summer, ever. Oh, well.

Sundog

For a diner, it's a good place. Good food, service. I found it pricey though for a diner with nothing more to offer. There is no view, it's old and it shows but generally for a diner you don't care. It is priced above what it should be regardless of how good the food was.

David Perloff

Great place tucked away from the busier parts for those hunting for less pricey lobster rolls in Portland. And not to mention the dessert!

Kitty Moyer

Very good food & service. Fairly long wait.

billy 4

Really good food and service. Menu on here isn't always available or price right.

Kenny Macdonald

Really great meal. Foods is fresh and super tasty. Service was tops despite the busy hour. Very happy with our lunch visit. Best lobster roll for sure.

Sosanna Blocker

Food was excellent. Liked how they had small and larger portions. Thank you Beckys!

Wesley Riffle

Top notch. Good honest food done well. Honestly more satisfying than all the hyped lobster dishes I had while in town. Highly recommended.

Toni Cirillo-Hutchinson

Cute little diner in Portland. The breakfast was delicious especially the blueberry pancakes. A must for visitors

Rubin Varghese

Good diner. Food was fresh and staff was nice. Place is very popular and there is a wait. Menu is standard diner

Daniel Flores

Aweful service! Food wasnt bad, will never return

Rhonda Martin

An amazing list of food choices. Breakfast all day, lovin’ that! The food tasted so good. I highly recommend the French Toast and the steel cut oatmeal. we go there at 11am on a weekday and Had to wait 20 minutes because the place was packed as if it were Saturday. Our server was kind and thoughtful!

Danielle Taubner

Delicious lobster roll! Lobster salad was huge portion and big pieces of lobster. Great if you like cold lobster and greens, I preferred the roll with butter

Donna Kaufeld

The Haddock Chowder was bland and not edible to me. When I told the waitress instead of trying to compensate for her chowder she merely said well other people like it. I would have given a higher rating if she would have handled differently.

Jazzie Red

I loved the blueberry cake so much. My boyfriend had the Italian sausage sandwich, and he liked it.I had the lobster roll, it was really good. I like their coleslaw. It wasn't too vinegary, and it wasn't too gloopy mayonnaisey.

Angela Fulcher

I saw this place on the food network show and decided to try it when I was in Portland. The food was great, but I left something at my table when leaving and the waiter went out of his way to bring it to me after I had left. Great service.

Maxwell King

Originally from Kansas, we stopped at this place on our New England road trip. It was fantastic, the pie and coffee was great. Service was awesome. Highly recommended.

Michael D Mercantini

I had the lobster roll. It was fresh and tasted good.

Kristtyan Romero

Customer is service is the main reason I’m giving this place 5 stars. I felt at home thanks to the kind and helpful staff. The lobster roll was definitely a hit, from the bread to the taste of fresh lobster, can’t go wrong with it here. Even the onion rings weren’t greasy, they were perfectly crisp and not overly battered.

Jeremy Hank

Great food at a fair price. Being able to park on-site and not having to pay for it was refreshing. They're pretty busy during dinner times, so I suggest getting there early.

Patrick Harvie

Best diner in Portland. Great food, and lots of it. Prices are very reasonable. Always a wait, but never for long.

dave augustyniak

Good inexpensive food. Friendly service

Jerome Gallinari

Very reactive staff. Very quick to get a table despite the crowd. Great meat loaf. Endless wait is what is killing me in restaurants, not in this one!

armenian meanie

Great hours. I've been coming here since they opened YEARS ago. IMHO it used to be better when it was smaller. I had fish chowder there a couple of weeks ago that, really was not edible. I hope it was just an off night. Service was OK, efficient but not very friendly.

Kenny Ham

We loved it, especially our son. Good prices and huge portions

Zman Jace

Very good service with great food and plenty of it. My girlfriend and I got the seafood alfredo (I believe it is seasonal) and while we both loved it, we had enough left for a third meal. Just a hair outside of the Old Port area I would say it is worth the extra block or 2.

Jeanine Corcoran

Robin is the MOST delightful server!!! Delicious food and great service!! We will return when we are in the area! Blueberry pancakes were scrumptious!

TigerLily Angel

We were told that we should have a Maine Lobster while in maine, so we did. We decided to stop at Becky's Diner since they had good reviews, but we were highly disappointed. The lobster did not taste like it should at all. (I know because I've had lobster). Also, the scallops had no flavor. Will not be going back during my next visit to Maine.

Steve Boussom

First lobster roll ever, it was amazing, had a bowl of butter and onion rings and coleslaw. All fresh and then washed it down with flaky blueberry pie a la mode, yummy, we will be back

Dennis Reabold

Awesome diner. Waited almost an hour and it's well worth it! Staff is friendly and the food is very good. Get a lot of food for the price compared to many other restaurants. Clam chowder, lobster roll and steak sandwich were awesome.

Tom Mc

Becky’s Diner is the best diner in New England. I have been eating there for 20 years and that may not be a long time relative to the looks of the fishermen who show up there at 4am for breakfast. All of the food is GREAT (love the homemade pies/deserts) especially the whole lobsters and lobster roll. I always set it as my destination or stop in my GPS when making the trek to Maine or Canada. Also, the waitresses are down to earth and nice!

Brian Francese

What an end to a long weekend in Portland! My wife and I hit up Becky’s Dinner on our way home to CT and it did not disappoint. My wife had the lobster grilled cheese and I had the lobster club... both highly recommended... with the 20 minute wait to get into the place. I recommend sitting at the counter.

George Potter

Loved eating at Becky's. We were traveling through the area and stopped for dinner. Liked it so much we stopped for lunch on our way back through. They have a variety of food including sandwiches, dinner entrees & seafood. They're Seafood is exceptional. We enjoy the lobster rolls with butter seafood platters. Food was hot and tasty, will definitely stop back

Jeffrey Berry

Long standing local breakfast also good for pie and coffee after hours.

Kristen M

Best. Breakfast. Totally worth the wait. We sat at the bar and our server couldn’t have been more friendly. Despite being super busy, she was attentive and kind. She kept our coffees full and the food was great.

Michelle Hammond

Mmm, so tasty good! A warm inviting environment, seating in booths or around counter. Buzzer handed out while you wait for a table. Lobster roll no sauce, just butter on the side. Perfect! Fried shrimp, good. Chicken pot pie came out piping hot and I didn't have to wait very long. With large piece of chicken and vegetables.

Ran Amitay

Nice place, nice atmosphere. Good service. Bad food. Would skip it next time

Cheryl Foster

I love Becky's Diner. It is a MUST stop anytime I am in Maine. My favorite is their blueberry pancakes. They are delicious and bursting with blueberries. In addition to breakfast they make a wonderful lobster roll and their hamburger is right up there with the best. I've never been to Becky's that I didn't have to wait at least 30 minutes but the wait is so worth it.

Janis Moore

Clean, great service, delicious food! Thoroughly enjoyed our first experience at this lovely Maine icon.

Rick Nobers

Ate here four days in a row while visiting Portland. They knew me by name the third day as I sat at the "bar." I also had a 7 am flight and the fact that Becky's opens at 4 am is very convenient. I got the ham cheese omelet each time with homefries. This also comes with toast. Great all around and at 9.25 I can't complain. Their version of hash looks interesting and a tad different than something you would get in NC. Would add that next time. This is good simple food done well.

F. Valle

Went here the first time I visit Portland before moving here. Some local business recommended saying that it was where the locals eat. I was not impressed with the food. I got the fried haddock with fries but all I could taste was old grease. My husband got the lobster. With Portland having so many restaurant options, I feel like the one try I gave it, was a very below average option for here.

Jason Wettengel

Had breakfast here a few days ago while on vacation in Maine. My wife wanted blueberry pancakes; that is when I discovered Becky's since they have blueberry pancakes. We were seated immediately and our server was very friendly. The breakfast was absolutely amazing! The next time we are in Portland we will definitely be back.

Sharon Bollinger

This place is a local fav!!! The staff is so friendly. Large menu selection... everything that came out looked so good! We came late for dessert since we had been in Freeport all day. The Berry Pie and Blueberry Cake...so good! Going back here this week! Try them... you will not be disappointed!

Heera Kamboj

Fantastic. We needed a place that was kid friendly. They gave out cool wax craft toys, and even had a mini toilet and sink for kids. In the middle of the city. This is a rare find for kids.

Genevieve WB

Great experience! Despite being busy, they were able to see us fairly quickly. Service was quick and friendly, food was great.

Jenna Deslaurier

Great food any time, any day! Nothing cures a hangover or breaks up a long trip like a stop at Becky's Diner! Pretty good sized portions too, I usually split an omelette and always leave full!

Ana A.

This place was recommended by the shop attendant at Tate's museum. It's where the locals go for good seafood, or so we were told. It is a busy place and we had a short wait for a table, but it was definitely worth it. The absolute best seafood we have had during our Maine vacation. The service was excellent and the food delicious. Try the Maine crab with Swiss if you are in the area.

Travis Mouat

Great dinner here. Left OOB to head here for a lobster role. It was a good choice. Family friendly. Good food. We will probably go to breakfast here as we head to see the lighthouse.

John Stepp

Crowded, unorganized, iffy parking. The customer (a regular) beside us was a weirdo. Seemed either anti-tourist, or in a mood to make others' uncomfortable. My friend got soup, I lost my appetite.

Paul Nasseif

Priced well. Really good food. Better than expected

Randy Smith

Best food and service around! Love this place!

Suzanne McCreedy, Esq.

I wanted to try a lobster roll while in Maine. The one at Becky's Diner was delicious! And their onion rings are perfect. So glad we decided to stop here!

Krumm

Nothing makes me feel better and more at home than a New England diner. So good, soooo soooo good and so simple. Cant wait to return.

Lee Scorobogaty

Fabulous staff, generous portions, well priced, DELICIOUS!!

Sylvie Dee

Mind blowing lobster rolls with affordable prices and generous portions! 100% recommend

John Thompson

Nice place to eat, with the best lobster rolls.

Gurgi Sims

They offer a good breakfast at a fair value. Portions were well sized for price. The service was pretty quick given how busy it was. Just to note: The place was super crowded with long wait line and very little wait room. A good sign for a breakfast place in a decent sized city - but plan for it - waiting outside, on the waterfront, when it's freezing outside, well let's just say it isn't for everyone

The service is great and friendly. I am not a fan of corn beef hash but there’s was delicious!! We had the Omelette special and it was delicious! We plan on going back for breakfast on our last day.

We ate lobster roll, garden salad and greek salad. The kids had Cheeseburger with Potato chips. Everything was so much tasty. Thank you

Every time we're in Portland we come here. The food is excellent, uncomplicated good old American food. The service is friendly and rapid. I had a tuna melt and loved it. Even if it's crowded, because it's so good, the restaurant feels intimate and peaceful. Leave some space for dessert that you can spot in the display cabinet at the entrance, or take it home with you.

Really good lobster roll- PACKED w/ fresh lobster, not drenched in mayo

Went on Sunday morning with place humming. We had a party of 9 and thought we would have a long wait. Fortunately there was a large empty table and we were seated immediately. Food was very tasty.

My favorite diner to visit whenever I'm in Portland. Amazing service and food. Definitely order the following: Lobster Omelette, Crab Cake Eggs Benedict, and Blueberry Pancakes. Tip - make sure to arrive bright and early (before 8am)

Great breakfast place on the portland harbor waterfront close to shopping, hotels and tours. Very friendly and attentive staff members and a lot of them to serve you fast. Pro Tip: - Ask for real Maine maple syrup, there is an up-charge but it is well worth it. (Maybe use it to sweeten your coffee...)

Great place for breakfast. Be prepared for a wait. Blueberry pancakes were great.

Great food, friendly waitresses. Ate outside on "the porch" - smelled pretty fishy, but added to the atmosphere. Omelette was great and the prices were decent.

Good food. On the pier area has lots of variety. It does serve steamed lobster, but only after 4pm for dinner. Came recommended by the locals and it was good food, reasonable price. Not fast though. So take your time.

After hearing so much about the homemade corned beef hash I have to say I was disappointed. Looked very well prepared and nicely presented but lots of fat and inedible bites, needed salt and not much flavor. Blueberry pancakes however were delicious, omelette was delicious and my wheat toast were maybe some of the best I've ever had. Short wait to be expected Saturday morning, service was great.

While the word diner does little to excite my appetite, the food served here provided THE BEST LUNCH I had ever eaten in a restaurant. As a Midwesterner visiting this area, I knew I wanted to experience a lobster roll, so I was thrilled to see it on their menu. That lobster ruined me for any other lobster I could ever find in my hometown, as it was so fresh, delicious, and jam-packed into my sandwich. I couldn't believe my eyes, but my taste buds said believe it!! The service was warm, prompt, and agreeably attentive, and we only wish we could take Becky's Diner back home with us.

This is the place for a full lobster dinner. Well cooked and reasonably priced. The chowder is not the traditional; it’s thinner and has bacon, which adds a little smokiness.

Ever hear of a fish Reuben? I thought I'd try it on the waitress's suggestion. It was very good... And you could taste both the fish and the Reuben!
