Wille ate barbecue in Memphis Tennessee where they say that is the best barbecue in the country. However the barbecue at VooDoo BBQ is so much better than the barbecue we had in Memphis Tennessee very very good food

We were a party of 5 and the place was not busy. All of our food came out cold. Also a couple of us wanted fried food but the restaurant was out of flour. So was not an option. We were told the owners were new and not keeping up with demand. On a good note the BBQ was good.

Service and food good. But ordered monthly special burger for October. When I received it it looked nothing like place card on table. Even waitress said it did not look same. Was not constructed correctly. Was being g charged extra for dri k when ordered combo meal. If you go there check your check before paying bill. On a football Sunday put ESPN at noon instead of CBS or fox.

Chicken is very dry. Seems as if it were precooked, left under a lamp and used as needed. Waitress is very slow, we have been waiting for a very long time to just to pay. Wifes fried food seafood tastes off. Salad was good and so was the shrimp butter appetizer . We have given this place a 2nd chance hoping things would change since we are nearby....we should have just gone elsewhere.

The wait was excessive for the quality of the food. They were not busy at all. I ordered a burger and my girlfriend ordered the pulled pork plate. The food took about 30 minutes to get to us and was okay at best. People who arrived well after we did were served before us. After we finished eating and one of our plates had been picked up, it took around 15 minutes to get our check. I usually really like Voodoo BBQ, but I will certainly not be returning to this location.

At the time of my visit it was really quiet. The hostess and waitress was pleasant. The food was good but not exceptional or unique in creation or flavor. I was hoping to get a different taste but it was ordinary. The food is good and properly cooked as requested. The food is also good in portion size. The place was clean and there were parking for pick up and preorders. I don't think the doors were wheelchair friendly. Advice to management is to keep what you are doing if the aim is standard American type joint then you are on point. I just like new unique flavors

First time at Voodoo. Will not return!! Ordered the two meat combo, ribs, brisket, fries and mac and cheese. All food was cold! Ribs were very thin. Mostly bone. Brisket was mostly fat. Mac and cheese tasted like it was straight from the box! Oh thought I'd try the beignets, because I was still hungry... GROSS!! They were cooked to hard on the outside and uncooked (doughy) on the inside. I hope others have a better experience than I did.

The service was terrible had to get our own menu and seat ourselves after standing there for 5 min. My daughter ordered a shrimp poboy fully dressed supposed to come with lettuce, tomato, the sauce and she wanted to add pickles. When she received it all it had was the shrimp and pickles. I let them know she wanted it dressed and the lady said oh well I will bring lettuce and tomatoes. So needless to say my daughter had to make her own sandwich at the table because they didn't want to take it back to the kitchen to fix it.

The best food and atmosphere anyone could ask for. I had the VooDoo chicken w/ sauteed onions and mushrooms and potato salad this go around. Mouth watering!!! The ribs are outstanding as well. We stop in every time we're in the area.

I'm giving your one star because the loaded tater was excellent. But i don't know if it's the region?the ambience?or just plain old selective bigot behavior?but your staff which i noticed were mostly Caucasian females have a problem with their priorities of customer service. First come,first served?only if you're Caucasian apparently. I visited your establishment on the evening of February 15th 2019.i ordered the loaded tater and half a Cajun chicken. I didn't like the chicken but i loved the loaded tater. So i returned to your establishment on the evening of February 16th 2019 to order a loaded tater from the bar area as before.this young lady is the reason why i am writing. Her behavior was borderline litigious. And i don't think she's aware of it.i walked out of your establishment unsatisfied, brooding,and a little sick from the bigoted behavior. Ignoring me is the same as not serving me!i don't hate your establishment but sensitive training needs to be applied for sure.I'm reluctant to suggest that any of my family or friends or professional cohorts ever patronize your establishment because of the way you treat dark skinned military veterans and their families.

I had lunch this morning and had the graveyard platter, the chicken was very good and the brisket was flavorful!! Taylor was my server and she recommended the corn pudding and it was wonderful. The entire staff and my experience was AWESOME from the moment i walked in to the moment I left!! I will recommend this place to anyone! Will be back.

So So Ok! Average better than Applebee's, which microwaves their meals. Fantastic potato salad! Ok this place is in New Orleans? but don't get their Jumbo Shrimp because they are small and greasy. You'd think they would get some fresh shrimp otherwise they should take the word jumbo out of the menu.

Love voodoo BBQ. The BBQ stuffed tater with pulled pork is my go-to favorite. Occasionally they'll be out of tatters and I'll get the pulled pork sandwich, one their fantastic burgers or the smoky perfection that is their brisket with a side of sweet potato souffle. Almost Everything we've had has been amazing. Just don't order your burger well done unless you like charcoal briquettes on bun....

The meats are normally Smoky and done very well. Prices go up often, but that happens with all restaurants. The real hit or miss here is service... It's either great or awful. There seems to be no middle ground.

Great food options and great service. Our waitress was quick to bring us drinks and made sure that our glasses stayed more than half filled at all times. VooDoo is in the spirit of this place as well as the interior. Restaurant is very well decorated to tell a story of VooDoo in Louisiana.

Not impressed. Opted for Carnival plate. Chicken was majority of meat and was dry. Not very hot, neither. Potato salad was real good. Rattlesnake beans seemed like regular pork and beans, nothing special. Cornbread wasn't worth a 2nd bite. Service was good. Table given was a quite area that didn't seem as if we're busy, but upon leaving, the main rooms were busy and much more incentive to stay longer. Maybe a sandwich would have been a better choice.

Very good service. The jambalaya isn’t good. It’s dry and ok tasting. I wouldn’t say it’s nasty but it’s not good. The Mac and cheese is bland! Needs more cheese and seasoning. The red beans and rice is good! The fries aren’t good either....definitely need ketchup with them.

Voodoo BBQ in St Rose is the best! I have NEVER had better customer service. Andrew and Taylor were absolutely amazing. We came all the way from West Texas, and stumbled upon this place. Not only was the customer service above and beyond our expectations, but the food was great too!

I will never visit this location again, once we were seated it took almost five minutes for the waitress to even acknowledge us and get our drink order, once we finally ordered our food we had no utensils, they brought out the food that was cold, had to search for utensils because they didn't have enough washed, they were going to get us plastic ones but finally brought us regular ones. waitress never came back to get any kind of drink refill or see how we would doing, this location is horrible and no apologies. she was more concerned with the bigger tables than the smaller tables, the whole experience was just chaotic and horrible

When you first walk into the place the smells of barbecue aromatherapy hit you hard. The wait staff was quick to get us to a table but the effort was wasted because we were going to have to wait for our food for a while anyway, all though we didn't know that at the time. I ordered the pulled pork with the mustard greens and Voodoo chips as sides, and a side salad to come before my meal. I had just gotten my salad when I got the rest of the entree literally didn't even have 15% of it eaten. The pulled pork was really good, but the portion was too small in my opinion , and the greens were good, but just a little bit too salty. The voodoo chips were really Bland and honestly not worth ordering in my opinion. I would have took pictures of everything to include with this review, but the place didn't have anywhere for me to charge my phone. Unless I wanted to leave my phone unattended at another table by the bar, but there were no Outlets anywhere else throughout the restaurant. At least, that is what I was told besides that one Outlet and I guess another one behind that full bar, maybe I was told incorrectly but I don't know and I wasnt going to go question her about power outlets I just let my phone die. I gave it three stars because honestly I see the potential and probably if the staff was more conducive to making the experience better it would have been. A little less salt when cooking the greens, a bigger portion given of the pulled pork, and the chips were probably old or not cooked correctly who knows but you could see the foundation was solid. 2.5 is a better score, but not an option.

Fantastic! The grilled meats were delicious! Great smoked flavor throughout. You could smell the smoke from outside. The macaroni and cheese was delish! Not impressed with the red beans and rice or the bbq jambalaya. Beans tasted like a can of Blue Runners with no help and the jambs was a little on the mushy over cooked side with not a lot of flavor. The chicken and ribs were amazing! Grilled to perfection. Chicken still moist. Ribs were fall off the bone tender! Thanks Jennifer, for taking good care of us! You made this visit a 5 star experience!

I can not say enough about this place! I habe eaten there a few times and every time it has been just amazing! I have always gotten excellent service the staff is always so polite and they know their menus too! The grilled blackened trout was cooked to perfection. Corn bread was delicious. Colored greens with pulled pork was a little salty but very good and different. I gave the restaurant a 4* because the red beans and rice was not flavorful and the day before I had the gumbo which was a little disappointing.

Usually very good, but today was an off day. For some reason bar was closed, no mixed drinks, only what could come from fridge. Then, our 4yo wanted chicken fingers, and they were out of them. Our drinks, despite not having to be made, weren't served within 5 min, so my husband had to go find someone and request them. Our food was great, just service seemed off.

Was sooooo good! My wife & I flew in from NJ, and have 3 hours to kill before picking our son up when his flight arrives. VooDoo is close to the airport. EVERYTHING we had was perfect and so delicious! From the garnish-packed Bloody Marys, to the N’awlins BBQ Shrimp appy, chopped brisket meat platter and gumbo!!! WOW!

I ordered the weekday special which was a Tuesday, came with chicken, ribs and a side for $12($14 after tax) Chicken was dry and ribs were seasoned well but tough, I chose the gumbo as the side which was not tasty nor was it a full side and it had not but a single shred of chicken and 2 halves of sausage( an equivalent of 1 heaping tablespoon of rice with enough gumbo as you'd put gravy).

Informed by waitress the wait time would be an hour. There was a large table that could accommodate our party but told it was being held, even after we were told they do not do reservations. This waitress held tables for her family and decided to walk this party right past us. When asked again if they did reservations the waitress said “No, not exactly.”

i talked my family into going to VooDoo for dinner- WHAT A MISTAKE! They must do more business for lunch and just serve the leftovers for dinner. The ribs were burned and rock hard- how can you mess up baby back ribs!?!? My wife's corn pudding was obviously the remnants from the edge of the pan (all dried out) and the crust on the outside of her turkey breast was so hard that she couldn't cut it with a knife! I'd gotten good food from other VooDoo location in Baton Rouge for lunch meetings, but believe me I won't make the mistake of going here again!!
