I believe this is a very sad restaurant that has P.F. Chang's prices but sadly it has Panda Express quality. We waited a while for our server to wait on us , and once we ordered we asked if we could sub our white rice with fried rice, our waiter said we could, and we thought nothing of it until we received our food. The waiter brought out brown rice because " Its basically the same thing." Is what he said and that his manager said we couldn't sub it out, even though he never said anything from the time we placed the order to the minute we got our food he also came by our table several times to make small talk with us. The GM was very rude and very combative towards me when all we where asking for is what we ordered, and where promised. The GM got so frustrated with the situation (Maybe needs more training) she slammed the chair at our table and walked away. The owner came out and then assessed the situation and attempted to fix what the GM broke and made the situation better, but at the cost of our meal and appetites being ruined due to the case.

Awsome food. Great service.

Michael Riecke

Good food, but expensive.

Alex M Wallace

This is the best Chinese restaurant in the New Orleans area. Absolutely worth crossing that big dumb bridge to eat here. Besides the food being excellent, the place is visually stunning. From the Koi ponds outside to the tapestries inside, this place shines with the pride of the owners and all the employees that work there. Service was excellent.

Julie Williams

Great food and excellent service. Chef Wong is fantastic

John L. H.

Trey Yuen is the best Chinese cuisine in the metro area. Although it is only a block from the Causeway, Trey Yuen makes you feel if you're miles from anywhere. The exterior has several koi ponds, statues and stone bridges. Inside the decor is very upscale. Carved wood, large windows and fancy tables all add to Tye atmosphere. The food is excellent. While many of the items have the same name as those in a run of the mill Chinese restaurant, here they are much improved. On my most recent trip I started with pot stickers and hot and sour soup. The soup was very flavorful and packed with stuff. The pot stickers are among the best I've had. For an entree I had the hot pepper chicken (may not be the actual name). While I would have liked it spicier, it was very good. Because this is a high end Chinese restaurant, expect to pay more than you're used to at the local buffet. The food is well worth it. If you like Chinese food, you need to try Trey Yuen. It is worth the drive.

Claudette SMITH

Food was excellent. Our server was always right there with refills and knew the menu well.

Been eating hear for years. Since I was a kid. Always delicious and service is on point. Spencer did a great job serving my father and I.

Stori Scardino

Love this place, love the food, and the owners are great people too. Always try to come here when I'm this side of the lake. The best won ton soup in the state!

Marco Osvald

Great selection of dishes to choose from. Wonderful atmosphere in the restaurant. There is something for everyone.

Traci Maurin

Good atmosphere. Nice service good food

Joe Williams

The building itself is quite something to see. The owners have done a great job to offer authentic arcatecture to enhance your dinning experience. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. The menu selection included just about anything that you could possibly want at a Chinese restaurant. The food was served very hot and the presentation was great.

RON GLOCKNER

For the price of this place, I would expect better. Coming in it smells like a fish market outside. Got food that was hard and over cooked, sauce was burnt. Second replacement dish was a little better. Service was ok.

Ned Wilson

I love Trey Yuen because the food is always good, its consistent and the staff is always pleasant. and when the family goes i certainly put them through their paces with special orders and we always share with each other so we will get an order with extra plates and extra rice and other crazy stuff. For instance my daughter will ask for cherries in her coke and my son always wants the little plastic cocktail swords and tiny paper umbrellas and ect. ect. They have always obliged and put up with us....and that speaks volumes. We have been going there for years. Its where we go for Birthdays and special occations. The Auquatic Chineese gatden is amazing CompleteLove it.

Bert Green

For 25 years, we have enjoyed Trey Yuen's consistently excellent meals from vegetarian delights to meat and seafood culinary specialties. The breadth of their menu requires that you should dine there often.

Chris Rouquette

Great food and service.

Melissa Ray

Food not that good. Saw an online post of someone having a huge roach in their food. Management confirmed it. When I used to get take out, I'd always see dead roaches in the foyer. Beautiful restaurant & atmosphere.

Chad Treser

It's been a few years since I've been here just because I didn't live local but now that I live up here, it will be a regular spot for us. Really good entrees with very nice portions.

william peters

Love this place. Great food, atmosphere, and cocktails. Never gets old.

Michael Siqueira

Been eating their food for 36 years

Matt Strain

I was a kid when they built this place. I grew up eating here. Just came back through town and ate here after 26 years for old times sake. The food was amazing! I thought maybe I was exaggerating in my memories. I was not. It was even better than I remembered and still just as beautiful of a building and garden as I have ever seen.

Mike Azzarello

Great food. Everything was good. Service was good too. You will enjoy it.

anthony guzzetta

Wonderful service, FANTASTIC food (honey pecan shrimp, cashew chicken) great time with the family, and kid friendly. Thank you so much !!

frank mouille

Really great food, great ambiance and friendly staff!

Angela Strain

Excellent and authentic food. Stunningly beautiful decor and grounds.

Lady Jen

This is the best Chinese food I've had on the North Shore. I love the decor but I wish they'd bring the fish I wish they bring the Goldfish back.

Robert Lagman

What a beautiful building, inside and out! You really get immersed into the Chinese culture with this place. Very meticulous detail to give it a very authentic feel. We came in late at night and knew they were close to closing but the staff was very friendly and did not seem to rush us. Menu selection is fantastic and basically family style because the portions are very generous. The pictures I included of the food were after we had already filled our plates. We got sesame chicken and also bell pepper steak with shrimp fried rice.

Gregory Neyrey

Great Chinese food nice atmosphere

rosetta Armand

I used to go to the Hammond Trey Yuen.. So glad to have found this one! The food is delish and weight staff on key. I will be back!

Nature Jockk

Always good food and service. One of the best and the original Chinese eatery in St. Tammany.

Edward Turner

My favorite Chinese restaurant in South Louisiana. The drinks will hit you so be careful. I have never had anything here that want fresh and perfectly prepared. Steak Kew and 4 happiness are my favorites. All the soups are wonderful and the sauces make the meal.

Joseph Bergeron

Very good!, service was great food was great

Scott Blahnik

The goldfish ponds are unique, and the artwork

Joe Lagman

Great food and service. I will be back.

Rhonda Hughes

Celebrated my Moms 77th birthday at Trey Yuen last night. We had the Dynasty Dinner for 4 at 26.50 per person and chose Tong Cho Pork, Four Happiness, Manderine Chicken, and Chefs Choice. Mr Tommy Wong cooked Steak and Chinese vegetables as the Chefs Choice option. Steak was cooked to perfection and could give Ruth’s Chris a run for their money!! But everything was delicious Tong Cho pork is my favorite. No one cooks Tong Cho sauce like Chefs at Trey Yuen. We miss them in Hammond. But we will be back! Great service great ambiance and fantastic food at a great price!! Mom loved it all. Great place to celebrate!!

Merrill Hess

Our favorite. One of the original Chinese restaurants in the area and still the best. Unique but authentic recipes. Won international award for their Tong Cho sauce. The Wor Won Ton soup is truly outstanding. Highly decorated building with ponds and garden outside. Reasonably priced. Friendly owners who often walk the floor to meet diners and inquire on your satisfaction.

King Bowman

Great food and service. Very affordable.

Rick Buisson

The best Chinese food on the Northshore.

Ginger Stroud

We went there for lunch. I had tuna from the specials board. He had the shrimp in lobster sauce. Both were great!

Leslie Callahan

The building is really nice the people was really friendly

Morris Gottesman

Saki bottles were too small, my only complaint . Great place to go have a romantic Chinese dinner

Lee Reese

I had not been here in many, many years. My visit was fine but the food just wasn't as good as the memory I had. Sad too because I remember loving this place. On the bright side, the portions are huge and you will likely need a to-go box. The plates we ordered were good, just not what I recalled. I wasn't extremely satisfied with the temperature of the food either. Seemed like it should have been a bit warmer. Atmosphere is spot on and the staff was very good.

Tommy Vise

Love their food.. much better than most Chinese restaurants!

Guy Culotta

Fantastic Chinese food in a beautiful atmosphere. I have been to Trey Yuen many times and have never been disappointed in the food, service, or restaurant. (Hint: the lamb is fantastic!)

Wayne Hebert

George Espinal

The Wongs are great

Kathleen McInnis

The food here is amazingly good. Best Chinese food I've had in a long time. The wait staff is professional and friendly.

Alison Weiss

Beautiful and authentic Chinese restaurant. Gorgeous gardens and decorations...makes you feel like you are in China. Family friendly and good for groups. The back private dinning room is perfect for 10 to 12 people. The portions are large so consider sharing unless you want leftovers. The fried banana for dessert is delicious!

Daniel Munn

Great date night spot. Beautiful waterfalls and ponds surround the restaurant, the coy fist are huge. Food is amazing

Good Vibrations Healing

Service was awful. Ordered egg rolls as appetizer, they came with the entree and Del on the floor. Food runner said he would bring more, never did and server never came to check on us. Food was not that great. However, for a Wednesday, it was unexpectedly busy and I know that had something to do with it but that was my experience. It was was too expensive for the kind of service we got.

Petra Reynolds

The food is always great. Prompt courteous service and the Mai Tays are good.

Michael Jorns

The food and service were decent, not great. The atmosphere was visually appealing but smelled of old mold. The acoustics made it a bit louder than nectand could have benefited from some sort of light background music to drone out other patrons. Over all an ok place just needs some freshening up inside

ProducerJT JTStudios

Always enjoyable food and atmosphere...

Dominic Lallande

Best Chinese I've ever had

Vicki Tinker

Loved my dinner, it is always delicious

Linda Sharpe

Love the lemon chicken and the double happiness. In fact, the mandarin chicken and all of their food is wonderful.

Lynne Campo

The decor at Trey Yuen cuisine Of China is beautiful. When you first arrive you see traditional lush Chinese koi ponds. Upon entering the restaurant you are greeted by friendly hostesses wearing brightly colored cheongsam. There is a lovely aquarium to view if you must wait for your table or take out order. My favorite place to sit is in the raised seating area in the center of the restaurant. The entire restaurant feels very authentic and expensively decorated. There is a wide variety of food choices. The prices here are more expensive than most of the area’s chinese restaurants, but you do feel as if you are having an experience, not just a meal. The food is very good, but not the best in town. I still highly recommend trying it out.

Emily Raulston

I have to say, this restaurant used to be better. The fried rice tasted burnt, and my meal was way too salty. The restaurant also has an odd smell that doesn't mix well with a good appetite.

Clifford Walker

Always great food food friendly service. Good lunch spot

Kathy Eaton

Food is delicious. Service is very good.

Brice Rolston

As a bit of history, this restaurant was literally one of the first true “fine dining” Chinese restaurants in the US (outside of San Francisco). Frank Wong and his brothers are fixtures in our community and we are fortunate that they chose Mandeville (originally Hammond) of all places to settle down. Excellent cuisine. Beautiful restaurant. Definitely worth a visit!

Symple_ Man

Been going to all 3, (Yes they had 3 locations thru the years), since 1980. All have gone to hell in all categories which are important to anyone eating out. Used to be the best Chinese food in the south. Quality started slipping and now the food is just a horrible shadow of what it once was. I gave it two stars only because the Mandeville location is still very ornate and brings back fond memories from years gone by. Every large family or business event we had was always at Trey Yuen. Can't find decent Chinese food anywhere anymore. It's all mediocre. Trey Yuen is below mediocre now. Sad to see it destroy it's own legacy..

Rhonda Soule-killilea

Ethan Chabert

Friendly staff & Outstanding food!

Carolyn Braden

It was very good miss having them in Hammond always good food

Leo Pei

It's been quite a while since we've been to Trey Yuen. Actually, it was before Hurricane Katrina that we had been there. I guess our expectations were high and we were disappointed. It's not like it used to be. The six of us ordered several entrées, and all tasted not much different. The best dish was the pressed duck. Maybe it was an off day. Atmosphere very nice.

Linda Resor

Quality ingredients and good service

Mikayla Mettler

My grandma and I had a wonderful experience. Beautiful grounds and building, excellent staff, great food. The prices are super reasonable! We'll be back!

Lisa Crawford

I Love this place. The best Chinese food. A little pricey but well worth it. We always have leftovers for the next day.

paul clifton

Nostalgic. If you want authentic Chinese cuisine this is the place. Real table service. Waiters who are attentive and can speak to the patrons. Full sentences. Attention to detail us there when you enter. Fresh cuisine. Nice to eat at a Chinese food place without a buffet.

Anna Jennings-Billiot

Food was fresh and delicious! Oh how I miss them being in Hammond. The egg roll was so very good. The best I have ever tasted. It didn't even last long enough for a photo....sorry.

Terrill Luckey

Hands down best Chinese restaurant around. I've been dining with Trey Yuen since I was a kid before they closed the Hammond location and I've never been disappointed. Yet to find Asian cuisine that compares.

Valsin V

Havent been here in s long time...was once the best around then it dropped off. Recent visit reminded me of the good old days, hoping my next trip is just as good for that extra star!

johnny bouey

Great food ,great service, and nice atmosphere

Harrison Smith

Awesome food. If you want a nice place to take a date, or a fancier dinner location then this is the place. The prices are higher, but to be expected for the atmosphere and quality. I recommend the tong-cho chicken, with a fog cutter while you wait and talk.

Adam Brown

Was very good. Definitely will go back, but probably not too often, as it is a bit spendy. Food and service were both excellent, and I do recommend this place.

Jared Berry

Authentic Chinese. They are proud of their culture and try to represent it well. It shows in the food. Great overall experience from the architecture and ambiance to the marble fish garden where you can relax and feed the fish after a meal. Met the owner and he's a really cool guy.

Blue Sky Drones

Hard to find due to recent road changes. Good food. Original trey yuen in Hammond was a staple in my life. Ate there for over 35 years. Sad it closed.

Andrew Nash

Our annual Superbowl dinner, when the Saints are not in the Superbowl. Dinner was so much fun, and the restaurant was more crowded than any time in the last 7 years that we have dined here for the Superbowl. Oh, there are no televisions, this is an escape from the game.

melissa craft

Try the pecan crusted chicken! Really good!

Mantqs ッ

The service was a bit slow but the food was delicious and the place is amazing.

Kyrie B

The food is wonderful and the atmosphere really gives you an authentic Chinese feel.

Merz Stack

Fresh.. delicious cuisine. Clean, upscale decore but still casual and comfy. Bathroom was spotless and smelled CLEAN!

Savannah Perrin

This place is so AMAZING. Feels like I’m eating at a royal palace. From the inside and out, the place looks absolutely amazing. And the food is super amazing! They give you a ton for your moneys worth. We ordered an appetizer and it was filled up and they had FIRE in the middle of it. Yes FIRE. it’s amazing. Go now

Jessica Ibsen

Simply the best Chinese restaurant in the area. The food is amazing.

Mike Gerhold

My opinion this is the best Oriental restaurant in the City of New Orleans and metropolitan area it is long-standing and has an Exquisite menu with lots of options the restaurant itself is beautifully decorated with plush grounds the service is remarkable the food is impeccable the pricing is very reasonable

Cody Gonzales

Waiter took about 20 mins to get us our check. It's understandable though because there was a huge party of about 15 next to us. Good food, love the owner.

Beresford Metzger

Come before dark and take some time to take in the landscaping, Coi pond, waterfall. The food was tasty, the decor is really well done. After dark the water features take on a new lookas does the building. Well worth another visit

Cheri Magee

Beautiful place and great food and service!

Jennifer Baillargeon

Love the atmosphere and wait staff.

Brittany Kling

Great food and great service!

S. R. G.

My favorite Chinese restaurant. The steak special is the best. The steak is always tender, served with green beans, mushrooms, onions and carrots. Another great dish us the Honey Roasted Pecan Chicken. Service is great and love the atmosphere with the ponds, waterfall and aquariums.

Debbie Methvin

The duck was just what I was hoping for, and my mama enjoyed her eggplant with crawfish mushroom sauce. So much so, she didn't need a to go box

Charles Olsen

Good Chinese cuisine on the northshore. They have been slipping a little in the past year, hence I am not giving four stars. Hopefully they turn it around and stop over-cooking the honey pecan shrimp. I do have to say; the wonton soup is excellent.

Desiree Drake

Still going strong after all this time and keeping my interest. One piece of advice.... Remodel the restrooms. They have literally been like that since the doors opened in the early 80's..

Edmund Ferguson

Beautiful decor. Great food. Friendly servers

Casey Fernandez

This is my favorite Chinese place. A bit pricey but worth it, and they will replace the meat in any of their dishes with tofu for me

marla mancil

Trey Yuen never disappoints. It has been consistent for over 30 years.
