REVIEWS OF The Ruby Slipper Café IN Louisiana

Missy Major

Great food and stellar service. The staff was wonderful. Even though there was a slight wait it was to be expected with the popularity. Loved it!

Alejandro Cruz

What an incredible place to have breakfast. The food was outstanding. I ordered the trifecta which has three distinct but related flavors that packed a wallop. The chicken st Charles was very savory. Our wait time was about 45 minutes but we’ll worth it. The margarita was delicious and refreshing. Our server was prompt, friendly and welcoming.

Iyibi Omie

Best customer service experience I’ve had hands down!!

Rachel Kern

Worth the wait! Advise, I would check in online through their website, as the wait can be over an hour. We checked in on line with a wait time of 90 minutes, then left our house when the time grew near, arriving about 30 minutes unit the site said we should be seated, only waited about 10 minutes to be seated. They had a great selection of brunch items and fantastic bloody mary's.

Jared Norris

Get there early because you will wait. Awesome mimosas, great food, great service. Biscuits are worth making an extra visit.

Guruswamy Vishwanath

Great atmosphere, divine food

Kyle H

Consistently good specials, the chicken st. Benedict is always a solid choice.

Ashwin Shaji

Nice ambience. I had my brunch here. It was good.

Jessica Rossman

Delicious! The king cake French toast and the sampler of eggs Benedict was a perfect breakfast

Richard Sandy

Very good breakfast sat at counter was extremely congested little room to move had to ask for refills on coffee.

Phantommooner111

Awesome breakfast food! Loved this place!

Omar Barnhart

Bonnie and Clyde robbed the place when it was still a bank of you believe the legends. You can still see the ghosts of the teller windows. We went for breakfast and had a good time. Servers were awesome. Food was well intentioned with locally sourced ingredients but I had better shrimp and grits elsewhere.

Cindy Klusmeier

Great service and food! Peach mimosa and Southern BLT was delicious. Hubby had 3 Little Piggies Omlet and excellent.

Robert Lewis

Awesome experience. We enjoyed the food and the live band (which took requests from us) was a nice bonus

Dee Deigh

Stopped for breakfast and the food was delicious with very generous portion. Server was also very attentive.

Shakilur Rahman

Food was fine. Too much salt on the gator tails, but the sauce that came with it was to die for. Menu was fairly diverse. But nothing absolutely special about any of it. For a taste of dining in the French Quarter, this is good. Price is average for the market.

Jordan Morris

I had the smoked salmon eggs benedict and they were amazing. Probably my favorite meal of our 3 day trip. I would highly suggest eating breakfast here.

william briscoe

Great food good service

Kristen Locus

Definitely lives up to the hype. The food was outstanding and although we were 19th in line we waited less than 30 mins.

Frank Furgal

This is one of our favorite breakfast places. The Pig Candy is a must if you like bacon. The day before and after Christmas kids eat for free. Not a bad deal for a family outing. While in NO, we'll eat breakfast here a couple of days. We have never been disappointed. The location on Brugundy is smaller and quieter than the Canal Street location. We like to go early before it gets crowded. Expect a wait but it's so worth it.

Robert Metcalf

Excellent breakfast and tasty drinks. Great service.

Kristy Rynk

Went with a group of 8, but waited less than we have waited with 2! MUCH smaller than other locations, but the food is still as good! Try the Grilled Fish 'St. Peter's with an egg added! You won't be sorry! BEST breakfast I've ever had! Wouldn't be a true trip to New Orleans without a trip to one of their locations! Others in the group get the specials or other items, but I've found my favorite!! Wish they'd open some in NC!!

AceKlub 707

This place is a PROBLEM (in a good way)! Long lines are usually a good indicator and after a 60 min wait, The Ruby Slipper didn't disappoint. Portions are hearty, they cook the bacon to perfection and their selections are unique. Gotta do it!

Anita L. Hooker

For a slow time of year they were pretty busy. But they know how to keep tables turning by taking care of their customers. Good breakfast. Not a bad price.

Jeff Nicolai

Didn't have to wait for this great place to eat

John Boydstun

Great Service. Great food. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Michelle

Long wait for brunch, but definitely worth it. Had a Big Easy Mimosa to kill the time. Decent sized portions. Varied menu. Great service. The location is decently sized with a bar front and center. Staff was super friendly. The pancakes were out of this world!

Missy Major

Great food and stellar service. The staff was wonderful. Even though there was a slight wait it was to be expected with the popularity. Loved it!

Maxine Younes

This place was packed! But they were able to flip tables quick. Didn't wait more than 20 min to be seated. While you are waiting to be seated they have a server come out and take drink orders which is pretty cool. They have the best eggs benedict I've ever had. Home fries were perfect as well.

Kyria Moore

Delicious! I only ordered one pancake and it was huge!!!

Carin Carstens

I know there are several, it does not feel like a chain. Healthy options & local fair. Amazing biscuits and great service.

Abhishek Malik

Great food. Really good coffee

Chris Chambliss

This one of the best breakfast spot I had in a very long time. I wanted to go here every day o was in town. Great! Great! Food.

christae Smith

This place was a staple for us for breakfast! Everything we tried was amazing! It was crowded but we had no wait for seating even on Sunday.

Kenneth Jones

This place really doesn't disappoint! My third time here and I love it!

Lolabunny52092

We came to this location for essence festival weekend. We wanted to try to alleviate some of the wait time as we figured Canal street location would have been longer. BIG mistake. After begin sitted and our order taken it took 30-35 mins for our food to come. While our food was being brought out the food runner ended up dropping our food. As we all have mishaps I understand that it was not intentional. The aftermath is what got me upset and how it was handled. Firstly, no one helped the food runner to clean the mess made. She had to get a broom to clean it up herself while the staff looked on. Secondly, the manager never came out to apologize or offer anything to smooth over the situation. Third, after thinking our food would have been rushed after haven fallen and waiting an additional 25-30 mins, our waiter came out to inform us it would take an additional 30 mins for our food to be ready. Unacceptable. The manager should have informed us, while waiting could have at least had the courtesy to give us the biscuit and the fruit that we ordered with our meal, as well being updated in regards to our food. The manager was very nonchalant when hearing the issue and we had to demand to speak with her to begin with. I don't know if it's just this location of ruby slippers or the way of the brand but totally am disappointed by the experience. I hope this is a catalyst for improvement.

Alyssa Bartolotta

Amazing food! The omelette I ordered was perfect and the biscuits are NO JOKE. I highly recommend the Ruby Slipper Cafe for breakfast, brunch, or lunch!

Katrina Ambris

Best fried green tomatoes! Everything is delicious if you're not into that, and best mimosas!

Tia Malak

Great food fast service and friendly. I'm pretty hard on restaurants but this place is on point for all of my necessities cleanliness, speed, taste, wait staff. Crowded but not a long wait well worth it.

me

This place is very busy went one day there was a 45 minute wait, so we decided to come back the next day. It was worth the wait. Food was great

Whitney Burton

Amazing and worth the wait! Friendly staff and food comes quickly considering the line. I would suggest either arriving early on weekends or going by yourself and grabbing a seat at the bar.

Michael Cloke

Excellent breakfast food! Come prepared to stand in line; everybody wants some.

Gary A

I would rate better, but the prices keep going up without any improvement in food quality, or service. My wife and I have enjoyed Ruby Slippers for 7 years and it's starting to feel more driven for profits than the local experience that we've come to love.

Bill Rugg

Excellent food and service. Be prepared to wait for a table. It will be worth the wait though!

Jennifer Schelly

Delicious!! Great breakfast food! No parking, definitely a walk to it place. Fast service, good specials, and clean location. Parents: Very friendly to kids. Kids menu or they let me split an entree with my four year old.

Wayne Boyko

Great place for a leisurely breakfast or brunch, especially on Sunday morning. The food choices range from sweet to savory and they also put their own twist on their offerings. An example of that is their hot catfish take on Nashville hot chicken. They also have lighter offerings, good coffee and are dog friendly on the patio.

Brendan Healey

Don’t get me wrong, it was totally fine. I ordered the famous Chicken St. Charles. It’s basically a fried chicken eggs Benedict. The eggs were solid. The chicken was sort of tender. The pork sauce offered a nice flavor. And the biscuit felt tough. My main issue was this - there were barely 6 minutes between when I ordered and when I received my fish. The plate and food were really hot but quickly cooled down. It was clearly stuck in the micro. Not a doubt in my mind. There’s no way they fried the chicken fresh, warmed the biscuit and prepared the eggs that fast. Don’t try to sneak that past us. It’s insulting.

bleg 02

Loved, loved the food. So much flavor and the presentation just makes your mouth water. It was very busy but we didn't have to wait long to be seated or for our food. The coffee was great as well, very strong. Our server got us what we needed but was not very pleasant.

nick wheeler

food was really great, the wait outside took about an hour... and then the wait for the food took about another hour. honestly it was kinda expected being that it's NOLA after a saturday night

Andrew Dai

Given the long lines, I really thought this place would be crazy good. The food is definitely solid, service is good, prices ok, but everything is pretty standard. Maybe the huge lines just really got my expectations up?

Chris Sims

The food is very overrated. My grits was cold order came out wrong. I asked for cheddar cheese in my omelette. So they did not put it in there. So my server decided to bring me cheese like that was ok ,who eats cold cheese on a omelette. Terrible experience

Amanda Taylor

YUM is all the biggest thing I can say about them. Everything about this place is great!!! You need to try it.

Jessica Lemons

Pleasent and funny staff. About a 25 minute wait at around 11a. We were offered drinks before we were seated which was very nice. No indoor waiting area but no sancuary inside from the heat as there are only fans circulating air in the dining area. The wait time for the food was about 45 minutes and our waiter wasn't very attentive. All that aside, the food was absolutely fantastic. I would most definitely come back here again!

Olivia Ranson

Best Bloody Mary's in NOLA! Service is friendly and knowledgeable. Well worth the wait!!

Brenda Bundy

It is well worth the wait (and there's generally a wait) for good food, generous portions and reasonable prices. Friendly staff.

Dr. Douglas G. Scott

We really enjoyed this busy spot for a last-day breakfast in New Orleans. Portions were generous, the food itself well prepared and tasty and the wait staff friendly and attentive.

Greg Goodman

If you come to New Orleans, you owe it to yourself to have breakfast or brunch here. Forget about calories on your way in, and you will thoroughly enjoy the food and drink. Excellent friendly service too.

Lolu Soyode

The breakfast here is just very good, my shrimp and grits was a bit salty however.

Stephanie Grimm

Delicious food, great service, and yummy drinks!

Charles Honaker

The food and service were good. I think a few changes to the recipes would make this a great meal. My favourite thing at this restaurant was the use of paper straws. Every little thing helps. Thanks for being responsible for our environment.

Leo Iosilevich

Try the bread pudding white chocolate pancakes! One of the best breakfast places in the city with very reasonable prices.

Shannon O'Donnell

So many people recommended this place while I came to visit Nola. The Benedict choices here are amazing. Food coma for sure. So good!!!

Kevin Dame

Very tasty food and drinks. Good portion size. Attentive staff. Long wait, so get the app that lets you sign up for a table. Even with signing up, there will be a wait. Get a drink at the bar and make the most of the delay.

Maggie Lau

Great vibe and nice decor. What I imagined southern comfort food to taste like. I had the banana french toast and shrimp / chicken Benedict's. They were both delicious.

W V

Always a good go-to option if you have time to wait. We've usually been seated within 15-20 minutes and this ttime was no different. Food is always delicious and served hot. Pancakes are HUGE and very tasty. All of the food /drinks we've tried are sooo good. Husband and I go at least once during our time at NOLA. Staff is always friendly and prompt which is a make or break deal for us too.

Manuel Mendibles

You have to get the morning margarita. It is the best cure for a hangover. Loved New Orleans and the Ruby slipper was the best start of the day. If or should I say when we go back I'm definitely going back.

Jason Leiter

The food here was excellent. There was a wait which we expected, and the service was slow, but they were slammed when we were there. The food made the wait worth it though - everything was delicious and I'll definitely be back next time we are in New Orleans.

marva white

Great place

Jasmine Castañeda

Lovely spot and architecture of this location, which used to be a bank. If you’re going on a busy day, I’d recommend getting there early or getting on the waitlist before arriving. The banana foster french toast were delicious and the staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Kevin Deleon

service was great. Food was fantastic. try the stuffed french toast! Portions are quite large so you may want to consider splitting a meal. Excellent place

Jon B

Breakfast was delicious. It gets real busy in the morning. Get there early to avoid the long lines.

Liz

My husband and I walked here for breakfast this morning. IT WAS SO GOOD!!!!! Everything was delicious and the staff was so sweet. I got the Chicken St Charles. You know sometimes when you eat a meal and it’s so good it just makes you happy for the rest of the day? That’s how I feel, we were here about 18 hours ago and I’m still happy about how good it was. This place is such a hidden gem, I will def visit again. Loved it :)

Korbinian Scheckenhofer

Initially decided to go to The Ruby Slipper Café for brunch due to the proximity to our hotel, but the 20 min wait was certainly worth it! Great value considering the big portion sizes and the food tasted awesome! Kept me full until the late evening. Would definitely recommend.

Derek Parrott

Amazing food and service, if not the fastest

Jeff Spicoli

Great atmosphere and service. My eggs Benedict chocon came out a bit quick and was not as hot as I would have liked. Flavor was good however and I would recommend/return.

Thomas Walsh

I ate here on the morning and wasn't hungry till the next day! The food was so good!

Brandon

It was a short, 10-minute wait for a bar spot (Wednesday @ 11am). I had the Costa Rican (not much to write home about here, as it was a simple dish) and an Irish Coffee (hot and strong). My drink was made quickly by the bartender, and my food came in about 10 minutes. My bill was about $25 before tip. By the time I checked out, the bartender realized the guy beside me had been waiting a half hour for his meal, so the inconsistency bothered me a bit. For the above-average prices and the just okay food, I wouldn't go out of my way to come here again.

Alfred Hamilton

Everything I try on the menu is delicious!

Bernd Kastenmeier

A safe choice for breakfast or brunch, no disappointments, nothing outstanding.

Amelia Ketzle

Oh my god, the biscuits! That's all I feel I need to say, but the rest was good, too. A bit pricey, but generous servings of high quality, well-prepared food. And competent service.

Ryan Shavnore

The Ruby Slipper has a great idea. It has an awesome menu in a cute little spot. The service was not up to par. We went on day one, but there was an hour wait. On Day 2, we went and got a table. When we placed our order, it took about 40 minutes to get our food. When it came out, my food was cold. I sent it back to have it remade, 10 minutes later it comes back out still not piping hot, but so much time had passed, we just wanted to eat and go. Our server was slow to offer refills; we would have gladly drank the wait away.

Mahogany Ford

Everytime I visit New Orleans me and the crew have to eat here. Delicious food great people. Its best you download the app and get in line cause its about an hour wait min but its worth it

JaMaal Dupree

Another New Orleans gem serving up wonderful food and atmosphere. The wait was minimum and service was prompt. Five stars two thumbs up

Tim Kilbride

Love the Ruby Slipper for brunch. Anytime I'm close to the Marigny, I swing by and get breakfast. Any of the Bennie's are a good choice. Always consistent and the staff is always happy to see you. They also just opened a couple more of these closer to home (Mobile, Orange Beach, and Pensacola).

Michael Higgins

Always a great experience dining at the Ruby Slipper Cafe. Our server, Devin, was excellent. Friendly, professional and ensure our breakfast was done right and served within a reasonable amount of time. Delicious food, great atmosphere and friendly staff. I always make it a point to visit this cafe whenever I'm in New Orleans because I know it will be a great time! Devin, thanks for the awesome service. It's people like you that make eating there a great experience.

NerdyGirlLuvsMakeup

I hadn’t been here before (I usually grab a coffee somewhere quick). My waiter was the best. The food was delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone who has not tried it.

Dave Norman

Devin was the bomb! He was hilarious. The food was soooooo good. The banana foster french toast, shrimp and grits, and the biscuits with the sweet butter! That was just what I ordered for me. I almost forgot the fried green tomatoes! I'm definitely going back every time I'm in New Orleans.

Ebony Booker

The food is beautiful and flavorful. The drinks are tasty. The service is terrible. The hostess was unprofessional. She was eating while checking us in and while showing us to the table. The waitress was rude. Tomorrow we will try the other location. I've been told the vibe is totally different.

Monique Bailey

I would have breakfast there again. I liked the food, the service, and the location was walking distance from the French Quarters. I sat outside and enjoyed a late breakfast, which enhanced the experience of eating breakfast in one of my favorite cities: New Orleans.

Mark Johnson

The service was excellent here! I finally got to try it on Wednesday mid morning. This place is such a hot spot. The coffee was excellent, the French Toast Batons were delicious and my entree was perfect! There is street/patio seating here as well. I sat right away but if you have to wait, it's worth it!

Stacy Gallagher

Good service, neat atmosphere

A. Murray

Went for breakfast and ordered bananas foster french toast. Delicious! This spacious restaurant for sure serves up some delicious plates! Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and made the experience even better.

Terence Gentry

Great food, great service. What more can I ask for? Visit and you'll enjoy.

J Eric Leal

Took a little too long to get served, was very tasty though.

JaMar Livingston

Me and my wife were seated immediately. However, after being seated we were completely neglected. One server came into our seating area (cashier's cage) three times and helped the other table. Upon observation while seated, noted were the only Afro-Americans in the restaurant; and all the caucasian patrons were be served. We were seen by other waiters/servers, not one came to our table to greet us, our apologize for the wait. The hostess tried her best to apologize, and find a server to take our order. No one still came to our table after numerous attempts by the hostess. After 15 minutes, we decided to leave, and take our business elsewhere.

Stephanie Rodriguez

This place was super delicious & super busy! You are able to check in online and they will text u when you're table is about to be ready though! I got the Costa Rican and it was to die for. Would definitely try this place again if I went back to visit NOLA. Friendly and welcoming staff.

Nicholas Paoli

Can’t say enough good things about this place. Had the corned beef bennies which were awesome. The wife and kids had pancakes which they loved. And the coffee was so good I had to buy a bag to take home. Top It all off with excellent service, and we will be back tomorrow!

Trina Pritchet

Hands down.... THE BEST WAITER

Jennifer Schultes

The food was excellent (Try the 3 pigs omelet). But the service could have been better.

Di Newman

This was across from the Sheraton hotel we were staying at in the French Quarter area, we were actually heading to a different place for breakfast, but this place caught our eye and the vibe was good! Decided to try and very glad we did! Wait staff was very friendly and the TVs kept me entertained

barry fondant

Amazing service. Friendly staff. Food is so delicious.

Tracy Rowell

Try any of the Benedicts. My server Mario suggested mixing 2 of them. Incredible! Great service Mario, great suggestion too!

Dina Simmons-Williams

Was not a good experience. Unatentive, has to sens my French toast back because it was soggy and gummy. Ordered rrhe biscuit chicken and eggs as a replacement, but by thw rime it came I was no longer hungry.

Duncan Sullivan

Had a seasonal special, the raspberry and Nutella stuffed French toast and it was absolutely delightful.

B Evans

I have no idea what the food tastes like because I walked out of restaurant due to the hostess/server’s nasty attitude. We simply asked for extra powdered sugar for the French toast, extra gravy for the eggs Benedict, a decent fork(the one we had was bent, as if it had been caught in the dishwasher), and an egg cooked OVER EASY since the one we received was OVER FRIED. Miss Thang became beet red in the face before storming off. When she returned, she tossed all of the bowls and plates on the tables and aggressively slid a roll of utensils towards my date and dismissed us as customers. Without eating, we decided to leave after being treated this way. The server returned to our table and demanded that we pay for the food. When the manager arrived, she claimed that she hadn’t done anything wrong to us. We will NOT be returning nor will we recommend this restaurant to any of our friends or any tourist.

Charli J.

Great food, friendly, casual atmosphere. True southern hospitality service.

Rob Flask

Beenwaiting4 years to get to have brunch here again.the eggs cochin and bloody Mary did not dissapoit.

theniceone06

Definitely a different experience for me as I have not had french southern cuisine before. I love anything new.

Nina Urbina

Great places to go solo or in groups. Food is always on point and drinks are strongly recommended! It does get a bit noisy at popular times of course, but the atmosphere is comfortable and staff very welcoming so it always leaves me coming back for more.

Tony Montano

In my opinion, best place to eat in the french quarter, food and service are top notch.

Desi Mora

Great breakfast place in NOLA. Service was friendly and the food selection was great. Great Biscuits. Coffee is very strong if you are into that kind of stuff!

Meghan McMahon Johnson

This is always a go to spot when I visit New Orleans. It's super busy here- generally all the time. But service is quick once you sit down and we've always had really good service as well. The food is delightful! They have quite a few different options- some savory and some sweet. The drinks are bomb too! Please be prepared to wait when you arrive. I'll say it again- be prepared to wait, especially during special occasions in town.

Mx Px

This place is delicious! Can't wait to eat here again next time I'm in town.

Debbie Poole

Excellent food. Excellent service. A must if in New Orleans

Stefan Krause

If you love breakfast go there. It's delicious and you have to try the ruby slipper(alcoholic drink)

Courtney Anderson

Demetra was AMAZING! She gave such good service and our breakfast was incredible.

Jim Burgraff

The place came highly recommended, my experience didn't live up to the expectations. The omelet wasn't much better than the free ones you get at hotels, the place was unbelievably loud, and very impersonal. The staff treated everyone as tourists, so not much eye contact or talking, although they probably knew you couldn't hear them anyways. I had fruit with the omelet and couldn't eat the grapes as they had turned bad. The coffee was decent. Many people seem to talk highly of this place, so you may want to try it yourself...just order something other than the omelet and fruit.

Dillon Stanley

Delicious food and drinks, excellent service! Had to wait outside for a while but they served drinks to people waiting and was a great experience.

Christine Wilson

A little pricey but so worth it! Staff was great as well.

Andrew Chicago

Solid breakfast place. Excellent service Everything we had was solid and very good. Nothing blew our mind, which is the only reason only reason for 4 not 5 stars. Wish I could give it 4.5 stars.

Joann Nicodemus

Great breakfast! A little neighborhood breakfast joint with delicious Benedicts. We did the Benedict combo, and I had the shrimp with fried green tomatoes. Yum!! We sat outside, but there was ample seating inside. Reasonably priced. I’ll definitely go back!

Elizabeth Bell

Great breakfast. I had to get on the road and it stuck with me all day! So good!

Jelani Bass

The food here was excellent! I went to this location and ordered the Salmon Avacado Toast. This meal was very good, and I would definitely try it again.

Honest Person

Delicious food, and great service. I wonder what POS they use it was very efficient and neat! I recommend to anyone looking for some BOMB breakfast.

Angelica Urquizo

This place has a ton of delicious options, it was so hard to decide! Our group loved everything on our plates and I love that the choices are unique, not something you can get anywhere. The banana foster French toast was amazing and the biscuits are enormous!

Smallwood T

Very good you have to try the french toast and the corn beef hash

Johnny Iglinsky

great place to grab breakfast in NO. they seem to be sprinkled all around the city so you have options on location. Big portions and good flavors

J P

Great place for breakfast or brunch. Great food and friendly staff plus they serve a great Boozy Coffee

Marie Salvino

This place is simply amazing. I had been here once before in Pensacola and was over the moon to know they had one in New Orleans as well. The first time I has the Trifecta and the second I had the Peacemaker (both of which involve eggs Benedict). It is safe to say that I have had every eggs Benedict they office and they are all spectacular! My faves are the one with the fried chicken and the one with the pulled pork. They also have AMAZING bloody Mary’s (I got 2) but be warned that they are a little spicy, which is the reason they were so good. Their grits and fried green tomatoes are also on point. You will more than likely have to wait for a seat, but it is totally worth it. We ate their twice while we were in NOLA.

Biraj Brahmbhatt

We went exactly 30 minutes before they were closing for brunch so there was no wait, otherwise there is always a good hour wait to be seated. The food is always on point and the service is great even though they are always packed. A must when in NOLA.

Debi Williams

Great cocktails and breakfasts but the biscuits were rubbery. This is a cardinal sin for this southern girl. Otherwise, I love the concept and variety offered at this Nola eatery. I had the Costa Rican, an egg and black bean dish. It was yummy. My breakfast partner had fried green tomatoes that were just ok.

Chris Orlando

Lovely place. Really good bloody and biscuits and gravy. Go here.

K. Hall

Food was excellent. Service was great. Not a very long wait depending on the time you go. Recommend early or a hour and a half before closing

King Lee

Came here with a party of 8. Get the banana's foster pancakes, they were so good we ordered another. Everything else was just okay. Also, some of the biscuits we got were hard as rocks and we had to ask for fresh ones.

Erin Dubey

This is our favorite brunch spot in NOLA! Their biscuits with honey butter are the best. The shrimp and grits and Benedicts are also a fave. They have a good drink menu and always offer to bring water or a cocktail while you wait for a table. The Yelp app allows you to check in on a waiting list. This place is popular, so usually a wait.

huyuni suratt

Oh my god. INCREDIBLE!!!!! I LOVE this place. Brunch is amazing. Definitely go early because it fills up FAST

Tamara Reynolds

We have found our new favorite restaurant when we visit!

Nicki Griffith

Food was wonderful, generous portions, unique offerings and a friendly helpful waitstaff. Fun place to visit. We had no wait, but we went on a Wednesday.

Janelle Tijerina

AMAZING! EVERYTHING WAS SO DELICIOUS! DEFINITELY THE BEST BRUNCH SPOT!

Danyell Jones

Yimmy and great service. Well worth the wait.

Jaime Smeke

The service is very friendly and the food is pretty good. We were in a bit of a rush and the girl tending our table went out of her way to get us our food ASAP. Breakfasts are very different from what you're used to (in a good way). The place has a warm, hearty, homemade atmosphere.

Deanna Holland

The food was ok and the drinks where good. The staff was nice and the plane e was clean. Great decide that matched the theme.

A I

A must go for breakfast or brunch lunch. The selection is all delicious and would highly recommend to anyone that is not on a diet. The coffee was pretty good too. This places is close to downtown. The service is average to be honest but the cooks make up for that lack of attention on the waiter and hostess side.

Robert Hillman

Loved it. Great good and great drinks, nice atmostphere

David Johnson

Good food, good service, cheap bendable silverware. It is surprising that a place in this price range would use the same quality silverware as an elementary school.

Colin Lyons

Emily and Mario blessed us with fantastic service. Both went out of there way to make sure we were taken care of and predicted our needs before we needed it. They are models of perfect server and they could go toes with chick fila by themselves. Give them a raise

TastyMedia

Love this place!! The location has great history and as a really nice relaxed vibe where you can grab breakfast and maybe a drink after a long night of partying in the Quarter. All the food is delicious but my favorite are the Eggs Benedict and if you don't know which to choose get the Trifecta so you don't have to! Overall, great experience and worth the wait because it does get busy!

Gary McKenzie

Great place. The food and Mimosas were excellent.

Jorge Sisson

Great service, consistently good food, gentlemen behind the bar is the best serves a great drink. Not had a bad meal there yet.

Jennifer Steffen

Biscuits and bloody Marys: 5 stars! Love this spot for brunch. It's a busy place, so plan accordingly.

Courhiye Crowe

Great place in the Marigny/Fr Quarters area

Matt Lake

The Ruby Slipper is the best brunch place in New Orleans. An easy walk from any of the hotels downtown or in the French Quarter. This place is always packed so expect a 30 minutes wait or grab a seat at the bar. It is well worth the wait and you will find yourself going there every day that you are in town.

Quynh Lifeisreal

Reliably great food! We are here twice and both were very good. I'd recommend their Banana Foster French toast and their Croque Madame. The French toast hit all the spots (savory and sweet); the ends of the French toast were still a little crunchy and the sauce was to die for. The Croque Madame was amazing as well. Combination of sweet glaze and savory ham. Their ham tasted like meaty bacon, which was great. The portion was very generous, so Be Prepared (in a good way)!

Cal was great! Very new to the job but could not tell! He was attentive, knowledgeable, and made our Ruby experience one to remember!

Linda galvex

Loved it good food and great service!

adanteis

Absolutely wonderful flavors. Will definitely visit again on my next trip to NOLA.

Arielle Forbes

Shrimp and grits has way too much gravy. The French toast was good, not a fan of the corned beef hash. Our server was friendly though.

Latosha Foster

OMG OMG

Caston Alexander

Food was great, and service was friendly!

Naveen Chinthapally

The creole shrimp benedict was very tasty, but the croque madame was absolutely delicious

Robert Matschiner

Very interesting breakfast and brunch menu. They close at 2pm. Pretty crowded with a stated probable wait of 20-30 minutes but there were 2 seats open at the bar so we gladly took them. The lady mixologist helped us navigate a fairly complex drink menu. I really enjoyed the cranberry Mimosas. They had multiple versions of Egg Benedict. It was a Friday in Lent so I opted for the Salmon Benedict which was delicious and generous in portion. My wife had one of the many omelet selections, also generously sized. We each had a $3 side order of fresh cut fruit. The coffee was adequate but not a standout. The prices were mid-range for NOLA and many may judge expensive. But we're veteran NOLA visitors as our son and his wife live here. We don't expect to experience good food at a bargain. The fact is that NOLA is a little expensive but fair for a good experience so just be forewarned.

David M

Fantastic food, great service, and right around the corner from our Airbnb. Highly recommend!

erica barnica

The best breakfast I've ever had. Period. Everything was perfect. You HAVE to go here if you're visiting

TaBorah Goffney

The food is divine! The drinks are great, nice staff and service. Reasonable pricing. 10/10 would come again!

Elise Weber

We had to wait over an hour, but the food was amazing! We got drinks from the bar and walked around the neighbor while we waited. I ordered the bananas foster which was delicious and my husband got the egg Cochin.

Karen McCabe

This place has the best coffee! And the food is really good to. Be prepared to wait at this location for a table after 8 am but so worth it. Make sure you bring a cell phone because they generally text you when your table is ready. Did I mention how awesome the coffee is? The roaster is local a few blocks away but this brew is specifically for them. (At least that is what I was told).

Shon White

I've never had a bad meal here. Long wait but well worth it. You gotta get the candied bacon.

jason colbert

Delicious as always, with friendly staff. This place never seems to disappoint!

POWERHOUSE

Ok, so we heard this place was something to check out so we did. It is not worth the wait nor the price. Bacon was cold, omelette was average. Shrimp and grits were like soup. Coffee was good. Place was dirty in a sticky kind of way... and also smelly.

David C.

Food was good, staff was friendly. Plates are large and pancakes were sweet, very sweet.

Haunna Birdsey

I have been dreaming about the biscuits from this cafe for the last month. I can’t get over how amazing the food was. The banana’s Foster French toast was bomb. But seriously... the BISCUITS. The wait was insane (OVER TWO HOURS!). We did have a large party and even then it was worth it.

Terrence Mahnken

Lots of energy. Great food and drink. Friendly staff. I went around 9 AM and there was a bit of a wait for groups. Fortunately, I was by myself, waited about a minute, and got sat at the bar. They serve local French Truck Coffee which is great. After my meal, I walked past another location on Decatur and it was a small place and not as busy.

Sun Hy

The food is delicious! The staff very pleasant. The wait is long...but then again patience is a virtue and good things come to those who can wait...

Nick Girdner

This had some of the best breakfast I've ever had. It was very busy there and I feel like we didn't have to wait long for our food. I advise putting yourself on the waiting list prior to arriving there. Everything was made excellently. My French toast brioche was so good. The bartender made me really great Bloody Mary's. The staff stays moving at all impressive speed. I advise this place.

Chelsie McNicol

Amazing brunch place. Was visiting for the weekend and wanted something that wasn't hotel food... and didn't realize just how popular this place was! The wait is worth it, though can be over an hour on the weekend peak times. The benedict options are out of this world, and the fact you can mix and match led me to have combos you can't get elsewhere. Gotta mention how good their biscuits are. Fun setting though also fast paced and loud when packed, but everyone I'd so friendly and full of energy on staff. Wish we had a Ruby Slipper Cafe in Texas! I'll come back again when in New Orleans for sure.

Aaron Butler

What a great place for a brunch! The food was great. Richard provided great service. The building that houses this location has a history as a bank once robbed by Bonnie and Clyde. The inside of the restaurant still has some of the banks architecture.

Kapilan Tamilselvan

Oh boy what can I say about the food! I was simply amazing! This place is always busy, like always! We went quite early in the morning for breakfast so we didn't have much of a wait at all. I would highly recommend this restaurant!

Cecilia Marquez

The best brunch and drinks! Hands down! The best plate on the menu is the Grilled Fish St. Peter!! You cannot go wrong with this dish! Boozy coffee is also a must try. I wish they had this restaurant in Texas. The wait is long but it is worth it. The staff was very friendly. Don’t leave NOLA without eating here!

theresa sessions

After two recommendations we decided to give it a try. So glad we did. Excellent customer service! Very welcoming, genuine, and upbeat. And the food is spectacular!!! A must. Large servings and served hot. Added to my all time favorite list!!

Keith Redd

A must do breakfast or brunch when visiting NO. Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Make sure you have time bc tends to be busy.

Margaret Harrison

Great food---Go early or a long wait

Detrick Clark

All man this place was awesome!! I had a crab cake, catfish and grits with the white chocolate chip pancake!! Easily the best pancakes I’ve had and I’ve had a lot of pancakes!!

Anissa Delgado

The food was amazing. It kept a crowd all the way up to closing, that's a good sign.

Bayou Gypsy

Y'all the food is good and the wait staff are always great but I go for the bloody mary's sooo good. Its breakfast in a glass with veggies. And of course the pancakes are fabulous as well.

Darren C

The food was tasty, but the real star here is the bloody Mary. I am not usually a fan of the drink, but my other half loves them. I took one sip and ordered my own. It's freaking amazing.

Elizabeth Montalvo Ortiz

The service was excellent and the food even better! I got the peach bellini. banana foster and avocado toast! It was phenomenal!

Tamara Brown

My cousin and We'll are in town visiting for our birthday month celebration. Hers was the 4rd and mine is the 21st of October. We had a wonderful time at Ruby Slipper. Our server Julie was amazingly wonderful and she is also a fellow Libra. Her birthday is October 11th. I highly recommend this spot. I didn't understand why there are three locations in close we proximity but after visiting I understand. I had the grilled fish St. Pete and my cousin had the southern breakfast. We both got the Morning Magaritas with one to go

Miranda Dixon

Worth the wait. Add your name to the yelp waitlist in advance.

Travis DuCote

The owners asked for clarification so here it is : We visited on a Thursday morning, and were seated immediately (at the bar) , however our order took over twenty minutes to come out as we watched multiple times staff just stand around and watch drinks die on the bar. We have to assume our food met the same fate. The meals were competently prepared but not worth the nearly $40 for breakfast for two. $4 alone for an orange juice. Personally I had the same French toast I can get at any east coast diner for about $2 less. Disneyland prices seem to come with the territory but given the price point and ample staff, the least that can be expected would be quick service, if not a more special product on the plate.

Mike Metz

Friendly servers, kid-friendly, delicious food. Get any of the eggs Benedict. If you can't make up your mind, they let you mix and match!

Laughing Momma

I love the ruby slipper cafe! The seasonal pancakes are absolutely sinful, but I always get the Costa Rican breakfast. Reminds me of my time in Costa Rica (although this place doesn’t always get the arose y frijoles correct....it’s still good).

David S.

Food was just mediocre. Service was a bit lacking. Place was slammed so I guess that's the reason...

Raquel Valles

It was good but I think we prefer to support the smaller chain restaurants family-owned.

Will W

Meh. Not bad but not the best. Friendly staff and a nice restaurant. But the food could be better. Shrimp and grits is sub par. Stick to the east breakfast bites and you will be fine.

Pei L

I've been here twice and it's been amazing each time! Delicious food and generous portions. I recommend the Peacemaker and shrimp and grits! The praline bacon pancake was also incredible. The only thing to note is that it is very busy so service is slow and you should definitely expect a wait!

Elizabeth C

Very crowded and loud, so if you are looking for a more relaxed breakfast I wouldn't recommend eating here. There was a wait when we went, but not very long considering how busy it was. The food was pretty good. The menu has a lot going on, I would have liked to see more simple dishes along with the others. Unique breakfast items.

Nichelle M. Bush

Despite having a bug in my Tea( they replaced it), rod was outstanding!! And we loved our server! A must visit while on Magazine street!!

Jon Tipton

Delicious Brunch. Excellent hospitality!

Vincent Lozano

Amazing service. True southern hospitality. I will come back 10/10 times.

Yahaira Quiles

Excellent service. A little wait time for table so recommend to call ahead. But so worth the wait. Food was amazing.

Carlos Alberto Dominguez

Great breakfast place in an old historic bank building - specializing in souther style breakfast.

Katrina Randall

OMG!!!! This place was amazing. I took a chance going here. I honestly wasn't too sure because I know that I love quaint places and restaurants that tend to be off the beaten path. Hidden jewels if you will. However, I had a taste for pancakes so I was willing to give it a try. I wish I could remember my waitress' name because she was extremely helpful and patient with all of my questions and she definitely did not steer me wrong. I ordered the bacon praline pancakes, but I wanted everything on the side so I could add as much or as little as I saw fit. These buttermilk pancakes came with crispy applewood smoked bacon crumbs, toasted pecans and the sweet buttery praline sauce that was TO DIE FOR!!!!! Upon first bite I was in heaven. Not too many places can serve pancakes the way I like them. Even my daughter said they taste better than mine, which is a huge compliment because she compares all pancakes to my homemade pancakes. They are her standard. I was in heaven. I also ordered a latte, which was amazing as well along with a side of cheese eggs. The food and service were top notch. I highly recommend. I will definitely be returning the next time I visit New Orleans.

Daniel Pineiro

We went to the one in Marginy area of New Orleans. Be careful! These portions are HUGH! It's why they warrant high costs. I suggest splitting an entree. Service was good & this location has a special feature. It's located inside an old bank adding a cool factor to the whole thing.

Julie Dixon

Unique restaurant with great food

Rashele McConnell

Ordered the shrimp and grits and they were delicious. In fact, I didnt really need the shrill the grits were so good!!! My fired green tomatoes weren't greasy and were well seasoned. The peach bellini was wonderfully refreshing. My only complaint is my food was not as hot as I would have liked it. I would DEFINITELY come back again.

Andi Orlowski

A bustling cool breakfast/brunch diner with some great meals. Service was quick and friendly and portions are typically large. Gets busy around 08.30 and there may be a short queue but worth waiting for. The Mikas was my favourite and St Charles chicken was also good.

JJMV

Had a great brunch here. Laid back, good food.

steve williams

Disregard the stars. It's really hard to grade the stars bc I really liked this place and the food was amazing but I got food poisoning from the French toast filled creme pastry with Nutella today. When we were sitting at the bar, I noticed that the bartender had really bad sanitisation practices. She was making bloody Marys and had the cup filling up under the bloody Mary container. She got distracted and the bloody Mary over flowed. Half of the bloody Mary went in to the metal drain. Instead of throwing it away, she took the metal drain, and dumped it in the bloody Mary container. Not sure if that's a normal practice there but I know that wouldn't pass sanitation. So it makes me think what else they are cutting corners and not following sanitations procedures. Be careful when eating here. You could get sick.

Alejandra Rosales

There is a long wait time, but it's definitely worth it! Their food is just amazing!

Stephanie Burgdofer

Wait time is long, but the bacon praline pancake was worth the wait!

Christie Henry

Amazing food and drinks, friendly staff, great service!!!

Brandy Thomas

I had the white chocolate bread pudding pancakes with bacon and eggs and it was delicious.

Brittany Courier

Amazing place to eat and enjoy with family. We visited on our vacation and were greeted as if we were long times friends. Service was great, food was amazing, our waitress was a doll! Highly recommend

Sarah Brady

Amazing breakfast! My friend and I ordered the Benedicts (smoked salmon and pulled pork) and they were probably the best I have tasted! I almost asked for bread instead of biscuit as I wasn't sure about how they would go together, but it was a match made in heaven! The salmon was amazing...it was almost like pulled pork in the texture, and just so full of flavour. Service is excellent too - all the servers we saw were super friendly and professional. They are clearly very well trained. Thanks for the amazing brekkies, Ruby Slipper!

Kathryn Rasp

Loved the food! Waiting staff was good in keeping our coffee full and making sure we got out in time to go to our tour. Kinda crowded but I can see why with such great food!

Robert Neyor

Wow, holy wow! This place was amazing. The service was very fast considering this place was packed to the gills. I had this French toast with praline thing that was amazing. Highly recommend this place.

JoeJoe Ze

The food was really good here. All three of us enjoyed what we ordered. The morning margarita is very delicious! The staff was friendly and polite. Seemed like a a large wait time but the lined moved pretty quick. Great place

Shelby McPherson

Great Brunch spot! Eggs Benedict were great and the rice pudding pancakes were the best pancakes I've ever had!

homer wall

My fav brunch place hands down in NOLA

Dinara B

The wait in line was definitely worth it! This was the best breakfast place I visited in New Orleans! I had the smoked salmon omelette and it was delicious!!! The seasonal pancake was great too!

Jesse Yishai

Tasty options but omelette was a little too heavy for me, though I'm a Northerner so maybe I have a more sensitive stomach. Very friendly staff and good menu options.

Shirl Hurst

I use to love this place but my last visit was really kinda blah. Which is sad because it has always been our go to when visiting New Orleans. The prices have really gone up since my last visit and it just wasn't worth it. If I'm going to put calories in me and money out of my pocket I want my taste buds to be happy. Our waitress this round also seemed a bit angry about being at work. Overall not a great experience. I doubt that I'll go back.

S Bo

The restaurant appeared interesting from first glance while looking it up online. When we arrived, they had a long line, though we had a shorter wait time than expected. One thing that stuck out to us though was the service. Our server wasn’t very attentive nor personable and it left us with more to be desired and disappointed. Although the food was decent, I’m not in a rush to go back.

Ashley Hobbs

We got the shrimp omelette it came with a homemade biscuit. It was so yummy and unlike anything we can get back home in CT.

Jo C

Omg the food was so good. The trifecta is the bomb. Definitely recommend that.

Kevin Gray

Great place. Good drinks, power went out for the block, so couldn't eat

Alex Smith

Honestly this place was not good. We used the app they suggested and we still waited thirty minutes past our "booking." All of our orders were just mildly off and the price was crazy high. The food was tasty, not dissing the taste, but we didn't even get a refill of our soda because they just didn't pay attention to us. Summarize: literally any other brunch spot will be better. Go there.

Joe Barnard

Everything here is just excellent. Solid choice for breakfast/lunch/brunch.

S Johnson

The food is superb, and it is centrally located. The service was excellent.

Kamille H

Food was great! The $10 mimosa surprised me - I wish there was a bottomless option or something. The bartender was helpful and very nice!

Paul Swithers

Brunch is worth the wait. Use the Yelp app to get on the waiting list before you arrive or you will wait. They will serve you drinks on the sidewalk and the servers are all pleasant, attentive, and accommodating despite the crowds.

Heather J. Chin

Warm, inviting, unassuming, friendly, varied seating, delicious food, plentiful water refills, feels like a community.

Jessie Williams

Great food and great service! I had the French toast batons and they were delicious- way too much food for me though, I definitely could’ve shared this plate. Will be returning!

ladiimj93

Great service! My server saw I was having a difficult time figuring out what I wanted and suggested things for me. We were in and out in less than an hour.

Christina Piechota

Love the brunch food and coffee options here! Cool place a few blocks away from tourist areas. Wait on weekends, but worth it if you can wait. Very nice bartenders and staff.

Jason Cornish

My wife and I visited here last Saturday based on all the great reviews we heard. First of all, the menu was limited to 2 items. Two! Secondly, the poor excuse for chicken sandwiches we were given at the cost of $11 each. I can’t post pics to here, but I can try to describe our sandwiches. The size of the chicken compared to the bun. I was able to tear the bun where there was no chicken and the size was less than half. I was this was an exaggeration. And when we tried to complain, our server was no where to be found. Frustrated, we left. Zero stars.

Usman Raza

Decent breakfast food and price is fair. Get there early to get a seat!

Terrell Portwine-Nurse

Not much of a selection. I guess if you like breakfast and willing to wait forever for both a seat and food. Go!

Mandy M

Pro Tip: Avoid waiting in line and use NoWait. We didn't use the NoWait option and put our name down and after 45 minutes we were finally seated. Right after we put our name down we headed to the bar to get 2 Bloody Marys which took about 10 minutes to order because there was a long line and only 1 bartender for the entire restaurant. But what was frustrating was that after we ordered, people that came after us were getting their drinks and we were completely skipped over. After bringing it to their attention they made our drinks but no apology or attempt to make things better. 25 minutes after placing the order we got our Bloody Marys - absolutely absurd! HOUSE BACON-INFUSED VODKA BLOODY MARY $10 *The Bloody Mary was very bacon-y and garnished with some delicious crispy briny green beans and extra crispy bacon. BBQ SHRIMP & GRITS $15 Sauteed Gulf shrimp with beer & rosemary butter reduction, over creamy stone ground grits served with a buttermilk biscuit *tiny tasteless shrimp with gummy grits THE TRIFECTA $20 Taste of the Ruby Slipper Cafe featuring one serving each of Eggs Cochon, Chicken St. Charles & Shrimp Boogaloo Benedicts *biscuits were dense, gummy and disgusting and I barely picked at the toppings on each benedict After waiting 25 minutes to get Bloody Marys and 1 hour to eat brunch, to say I was underwhelmed would be an understatement. There was too much hype and not enough bite.

Anastasia Capetillo

A bit of a wait but worth it. Different brunch options than what's usually found in the midwest which I enjoyed. We ended up dining here twice over our visit.

Jim McGehee

One of my favorite breakfast restaurants, and I've had the pleasure of eating at them all over. NOLA, Mobile, Pensacola, and the list keeps expanding. The Marigny location is my favorite. These folks know how to cook, and they're happy to show you!

Wolven Eyes

Nia was fabulous, she was above and beyond perfect. We showed up late not realizing the 3pm close time, but she still gave us perfect service and the food was made delicious. Thank you so much.

Monica Ellisor

Love the place. The price is definitely worth for what you get. Loved the pig candy bacon

Patricia Davis

So hard to choose from the amazing menu options, so the Trifecta of Benedict is the way to go! Absolutely superb! Hubby had the corned beef benny which was also thoroughly enjoyed. Staff is friendly and professional.

Tom Blair

Great redfish and great bloody mary with bacon!

Amanda Capaldi

Went here for brunch on a Saturday morning with a total party of 3 people. As to be expected, it was pretty busy and there was a wait. We put our name in for a table and stood around outside waiting, as there wasn’t any room left in the restaurant to wait. There was a cocktail waitress walking around outside so we were able to get drinks to sip on while we waited. The wait turned out to be only about 25 minutes; shortened because we opted to sit outside at a picnic table. The benches were wet from the previous night’s rain (or a previous customer’s drink, I guess) so it would’ve been nice if that had been wiped up before we sat. The food was good but took a really long time to get to the table (~25 minutes). The waitress was nice *until* two additional people arrived and came to sit at our picnic table with us. When the new guests asked to order a drink the waitress told them, “Sorry, we don’t do joiners here.” (LOL my new favorite, esp to say it condescendingly like she did.) So, the two guests couldn’t order drinks or food. Dumb, considering they weren’t at the table any longer than the three of us that originally sat, and only would have boosted the bill for the waitress/restaurant. I understand the policy, but it should have been communicated more respectfully. There’s definitely a better place to eat brunch than here.

Luke Palmer

Great food. They really know how to do bacon and biscuits. Richard the bartender is a cool guy.

Anthony Ryan

Good breakfast main courses. We ordered a Fried Chicken Benedict and a BBQ Pork Benedict which were both really good. The side orders of grits and fried green tomatoes were less than spectacular. Grits are runny and FGT were a bit dry.

One Time

Huh....seen the reviews that's why we went. Left very confused on how there are so many good reviews. Staff was nice that's why I gave it 2 stars and not 1. Two out of three plates came out cold and I mean cold! And even if the food was hot. I wouldn't be dying to go back. Pretty spendy for the amount of cold food you get too. Worse $50 dollars I've spent since I got here.

Karen M Soto

We spent a week in NoLa trying the most recommended restaurants and this was our last stop. We wanted a local hearty breakfast spot before we took off and we were

Michael Branan

Had breakfast here a few days ago. Everything was awesome! Absolutely delicious biscuits, delightful Bloody Marys, and great service. I would give them 10 stars if I could. Cannot recommend it enough.

Wesley Holmes

Look, I am absolutely not one to complain about a restaurant on yelp. Generally I only leave good reviews, period. But this place was just such an...odd thing experience? My friend ordered oatmeal (per the menu’s offering?) and was told they didn’t have it nor had they ever? Another friend asked about their gluten free offerings (again, per the menu) and was told “oh if you want you’re gluten free I would honestly go eat somewhere else.” One of us ordered a salad and after having waited 30+ minutes for our food was told they were out of dressing. So her attempt at health ultimately resorted in ordering shrimp and grits (probably fate because they were pretty good). Was just rather off put by these circumstances but the food was decent and our waitress was so kind. Reconcile these things as you will!

mlbchanged1 .

Delicious food. It came recommended and did not disappoint. Our server was very knowledgeable of both the area and the dishes. He even wanted to do something special for me because it was my birthday. Truly enjoyed my birthday breakfast.

Robert Adams

Good service, good food, good bar & drinks. For benefit of others: they use Yelp wait-list service. You need to check-in with the host before the time indicated on the wait list app. Everybody has to wait (in the same line) to see the same host, regardless of what the Yelp app says. Once you do that, you will get your table shortly. The system works well, but the Yelp interface is not very clear - it saves you waiting outside for 45+ minutes, but it doesn't save you from waiting 5 or 10 minutes.

Ido Gal-Turcan

It seems a nice atmosphere. The service at 0800 am was so clumsy and slow I had to cancel my order and leave. The waitress at the bar inserted a wrong order from what I requested and even that did not arrive in 20 minutes although I indicated to the waitress I have only 30 minutes

Tyler Hudgins

Food was solid and affordable. Biggest issue with these locations can be the wait. Went on a Wednesday and had an hour wait at 2 different locations within walking distance of each other. I recommend going early or closer to the end of their breakfast time to avoid the wait.

max pierce

Nice sit down place for sunday brunch. i liked that it seemed to be a converted bank. the food had great portions for the price. i was there with a group of 6 of us, we got served quickly and the waitress was nice. a bunch had pancakes that were really good, i had the croque madame.

Geoff Woodman

Great food. Busy popular spot, but dont let that deter you. Service and seating is fast.

Kayleigh Evans

Definitely recommend. These are the dishes we enjoyed while here as well as some great drinks: Peach Bellinis, bloody Mary’s, and ruby slippers.

Daniel Anderson

Went on a Sunday, very busy. The wait was 30 minutes. Service was good and the food was delicious. They have limited outside seating. Parking is on the street where you can find it, we parked two blocks away. We will go again.

Daniel Koller

Good times, good food, good people, & good lawd, this place is awesome! Order anything on the menu & you will like it. The servers are friendly, positive, and helpful. So good, we had to eat here twice during our NOLA trip. I'd suggest you go here on the first day of your stay. It may ruin all other breakfast places for you, but it'll be so worth it. I'd suggest a wait list check in on Yelp before arriving to avoid long waits, but even without, it's worth the wait.

Kristina Vaughn

1st time to New Orleans and first stop was Ruby Slipper for Brunch. Bobby was phenomenal in explaining the menu and making suggestions. He was very patient with us and took his time. The food was great and his suggestions were on point. We would definitely recommend this place to others.

Jenny Magli

Awesome food, great prices and menu choices, wonderful staff!

Alastair Rennie

This has the most delicious breakfast you can imagine

Antonio Daniel

The host staff are excellent! I love the seamlessness of the wait system. My actual service when seated wasn't great. The handheld devices that the servers use made the ordering process feel very disconnected. The server seemed more concerned with fiddling with the menu device than taking our orders. It slowed the process down and seemed unprofessional. We also didnt get the correct drink oder.

Dean Rivera

Great diner near the French Quarter. Biscuits were amazing. Coffee is great hot or iced.

Rodrigus Echols

This place is the bomb!! Food is delicious and the wait staff is good. You may have to wait to be seated but the food is worth the wait... trust me you will not be disappointed.

Rosemary Bakelac

This place was so very good. Amazing food

Jeremy De La Garza

Good food and atmosphere. The chocolate pancakes were a little burnt for my liking. The coffee was good and there was a to go bar at the front in addition to the bar at the back.

Merry Lu from Kalamazoo

Good food, a little pricey, fairly fast service for a crowded resto., interesting décor & ambiance (but not exactly cozy), historical place. $$

Wendy Lumbert

Excellent breakfast place with good service.

Cj

Yummm...Eggs Benedict! Delicious with a great variety. You won't be disappointed.

Kristi Watts

Really great breakfast place. Large portions. Good quality.

Morgan Saunders

Love this place, the food is so good. Service is quick and easy.

Kie Sanders

This place was so good! I don't know who makes them biscuits and that butter but I need to bring you back home with me! The service was good. I would come back every time I am in New Orleans.

Shareen Patel

Our experience here was great! Our waitress, Arielle, was very helpful and went above and beyond for us. I️ had the smoked salmon Benedict and the boozy iced coffee and both were yummy! Portions were large and quality was good. Very pleased.

Lydia Williams

This place is so great we can here for both breakfasts. Fast, friendly service that feels like NOLA and delicious foods. We couldn’t stop talking about how this place is exactly what you want it to be. The prices are on point, portions are generous and the atmosphere feels warm but not cloying. And they easily split checks (something they don’t love everywhere).

Rachel Lawson

Busy breakfast place with the most mind blowing bacon ever. THE PIG CANDY BACON. Friendly staff, awesome variety for breakfast and overall one of the best

Keith Junior

Great food. Ate there three times during my stay. Service was good too. Somewhat a bit of a wait but it was worth it.

Alejandro Ramírez

I loved the french toast, but everything else was also delicious. Would definitely recommend for breakfast and would visit again. I also heard that it's also famous for its mimosas and I did see a lot of people that ordered them, but I didn't try them out.

Growing Made Easy

Not good. Had some pepper jack and eggs biscuit and the biscuit was rock hard. Not what I expected from this place. Wasn’t impressed. A real let down.

Jessica Settle

I had the catfish and grits, as well as the boozy iced coffee. It was very good, and I enjoyed the place. It is VERY busy, so call ahead to get a reservation. The service was fast and consistent once we were seated. My boozy coffee was delicious and worth the coffee. They also sell very cute tshirts. We sat at the community table, and it was crowded, but nice. I would go back. Their biscuits are out of this world.

Kristi Fowler

My friends and I loved our experience here! Our waitress, Arielle, was helpful and went above and beyond for us. I️ had the french toast with a mimosa and both were excellent! Portions were large and quality was good. Very happy with our service here!

Keith Vines

Some of the best food I had in New Orleans was at the Ruby Slipper! Service was awesome, our waitress was super nice and always smiling.

carlos posada

Great atmosphere great food. Presentation was on point and great service

Elizabeth O'Neal-Hooker

Can't go wrong with the selection of eggs Benedict!!

Amanda

Drinks are stronge and on quick delivery. Food takes awhile to arrive. You should reserve your table in advance. Asked for a side of tomatoes and they were soggy.

Quron Hicks

Excellent Benedicts!

Graduate Student

I wish there was a neighborhood Wal-Mart around so that I could have bought something there to eat. This eatery is a waste of your hard earned dollars. Find somewhere else to enjoy food because this place will leave you very

Ryan Dunne

Good food got seated fast and reasonably priced.

Nneoma Prudence LaMarche

The waiting time to be seated was definitely worth my while. I loved the biscuits.

Duane Jahns

Freddie H. was an awesome waiter. 30 min wait but we got a table outside. Quick service with a good attitude and conversation. Food was spot on. Highly recommend for breakfast, brunch or lunch.

Pitch725

I went to one of there other locations years ago and I was not disappointed by nostalgia. Bacon infused bloody mary is a must. The only downside, I made a mistake by not getting the Chicken St Charles. Everything was beyond delicious.

Lissette Brito

Yummy southern breakfast in a loft setting, exposed beams, high ceilings. Service was good, disappointed that espresso machine was broken. Fried green tomatoes and cheesy grits were surprisingly delicious.

Food was really good except our waitress was completely awful, which is surprising, and our food took over an hour to come, despite there being barely anybody in the restaurant. Our server came back sparingly, we had to ask for drinks every time she came back, and she seemed irritated every time we asked for something. One of our friends from out of town, who really wanted to go there, the waitress forgot to put her order in, waitress couldn't care less, our friend finally got her order and just the waitress was approaching the table, the egg fell off the plate. The waitress was like, "ya that happened, your egg fell off, I'll get another one". About 15 mins later, she pretty much threw the egg on the table and walked away. We asked for some more drinks a little while later and she brought them. She threw the check on the table. Needless to say, awful service. We'll go somewhere else for brunch from now on.

I have no idea what the hype is about. The food was extremely disappointing. I make far better at home.

Great breakfasts. Crowded on weekends. Get reservations.

Banana fosters French toast is a big MUST & their bloody Mary's!! You really can't go wrong because in my group of 6 everyone loved their food.

Terry Taylor

My mother and I went this morning and had the crab cake Benedict. Absolutely delicious. We plan on going back again before our vacation ends to try some other things off their incredible menu. The service was also top notch. Super friendly and accommodating

Surprisingly tasty coffee, amazing food great service. So far the absolutely best place for breakfast

Jennifer Childs

OMG. So good I forgot to take a picture. Definitely go with the house specialties, not that you can really go wrong with anything on their menu.

Alberto C. took such great care of me and my husband. He walked us through his favorite menu items took his time to make us feel welcome even when they were completely packed. The food is incredible! The Eggs Cochon will haunt me in my dreams in the best way. 10/10 would eat here again. Thanks Alberto!

Food was amazing service was fast and on point. However the flies are off the hook. It didnt stop me from eating but they really need to work on getting rid of all those flies

Rich Bullock

I had one of the best omelettes I've ever had in my life here. I can't wait to go back

Tammie Davis

Great food as well as service. Long, long wait to get un as well as get food. But food was so delicious and appealing to the eye. Will revisit when I return to New Orleans.

Best breakfast I had while visiting New Orleans! Easy to walk to from Canal St. & located in a lovely, quiet neighborhood.

Greg Woo

Great location off Magazine St. The crowd's a lot better than the other locations. Drink deals are great. The earlier you go, the wait time is cut. Food is mid-level pricey, but portions are humongous. They are great with benedicts and other breakfast items. Candied bacon is phenomenal. They follow the New Orleans tradition of mastering mixed drinks. Great for kids too. Parking is street parking, easy to find. Service is spectacular.

This spot is absolutely delicious. Yes the wait was a little long but well worth it. Best spot for breakfast/brunch in NO. I would definitely try the peacemaker your choice of 2 different styles of egg benedict. I recommend the hot smoked salmon and chicken St. Charles, oh my goodness! Customer service was on point too, very attentive and super kind (the bartender, unfortunately I didn’t get her name).

Chad Stapleton

Excellent! Service was perfect, wait was a little long but well worth it! They turned over tables quickly though! Food was very good, everyone had different types of eggs Benedict! Then we got their pancakes of the day to share! If you’re in NOLA, definitely stop by and check it out!

Tarah Smith

The food is absolutely delicious and the drinks pack a mean punch!

Amanda Lafollette

Amazing food! Great coffee and mimosas thank you for being the best breakfast we had during our time in Nola!

This was my second choice restaurant. Initially, I went to Daisy Mae's for a Sunday breakfast. The service was horrible! After the second time of serving my tea in a food stained cup & giving me the wrong omelet, I just left. I entered the Ruby Slipper annoyed and hungry. The server at the bar told me that she'll correct everything. Did they ever! A Gulf Shrimp omlett with potatoes and a huge delicious biscuit ( with cinnamon butter), topped off with a Peach Bellini turned my frown upside down! ✨

Food was good, nothing to crazy.

Chris Thistlethwaite

Good breakfast place but get ready for a long wait time at the door. Went one day and almost got in the door but had a 5 - 10 min wait, no biggie. The second trip there were people wrapped down the block. They come around outside to take drink orders, that helps a ton. If you're looking for a basic, quick bite, best look somewhere else (like Commerce around the corner), however if you want to wait a bit, you won't be disappointed.

Zack Macbeth

Amazing food! Breakfast and lunch are amazing! Wonderful service!

Edward Rose

Outstanding, fried green tomatoes. Excellent Irish cream coffee.. Sounds weird but tastes awesome. Get the bacon margarita..!! Crepes, French toast a la Excellent, magnificent sandwiches, Cajun and Creole, plenty of food. Good stuff all around. Reserve your place online to have less wait.

Michael Gu

I was visiting from out of town for Saturday brunch. I was crowded and everyone was waiting by the front door. I highly recommend checking in online while you are on your way. The food was way above expectations. Any dish with the gulf shrimp was really flavorful compared to the shrimp I am used to eating. I also recommend the bacon bloody mary with extra picked green beans. The flavor of the mix is something that I still crave and can't find back home. Service was adequate and a little on the slow side. It was understandable due to the number of people there.

Rebecca Savoy

They were closed. I was sad. I ubered there. Then had to get another uber to a different location. The manager was really nice. The 2nd uber was nice but having to pay twice after the website said it was open had me disappointed. Going to try another location
