This Restaurant belongs to the category of Barbecue restaurant.
Amazing food! Good portions, especially for the price. Everyone working there was super nice. :) My friends and I each got something different and it was all amazing.
Let me just say that I am like 90% vegetarian. The ribs were falling off the bone, the brisket was super juicy. I liked it so much, I bought a t-shirt as my NOLA trip souvenir.
All of the meats are amazing but that brisket just melts in your mouth! Mac and cheese is a must! If your wanting a little something extra try the peanut butter pie. It's light and smooth!
Yes...this is the place for bar b que. Their links are sooooo gooood.
Ok food, fun environment
Absolutely best barbeque for many many miles. The ribs fall off the bones like butter and honestly never liked ribs until we had the joints ribs. It’s the real deal and better than reality. The portions are super generous and the price is unreasonably affordable. The side dishes- cold slaw Mac and cheese beans etc are equally bomb bomb bomb. You can have a real meal with just the side dishes because they are no side kicks but heros of their own. The staff is incredibly friendly and so patient, like when you are so indecisive because everything is so good and you want everything but it’s just so hard to figure out what you really need at the given time, they will patiently guide you through your selections!
Burnt ends are excellent! Good Key Lime pie too. Good, friendly, engaging staff. An enjoyable experience.
Delicious! The food was great and the atmosphere even better. We were visiting from Chicago and the Joint offered great food and what felt like a real southern BBQ smoke house
Best BBQ I've ever had. If you're not in the neighborhood, take a cab and eat at this place!! Wow
Great service. Awesome brisket and ribs! Brisket! In conclusion: Brisket!
I think that was the best pastrami sandwich I've had. Ever. New York. San Francisco. Ever.
Because i got to meet very attractive people there
100% one of the best places I have ever been for BBQ! Friendly staff, great atmosphere! Weird how many of the locals in NOLA haven’t heard of this place! It’s wonderful!
Had it twice 1st time was amazing ribs the second time we had the 2 meat combo and it came out lukewarm. Still tasty but a slightly disappointing
I have been to BBQ places all over the US. This was standard. BBQ isn't KC sweet but is also isn't Carolina mustard style. It was fairly bland but it filled my stomach. Wait staff was great.
Slammin! That's all I can say. We walked from the southside of the French quarter just because someone said it was totally worth it and we wanted to take a walk. The suggestion was spot on! Get the mac and cheese! Ribs were perfectly smoked as well. BBQ sauce was so tasty. Very local vibe. Check them out!
This is by far the absolute best barbecue I have ever tried. The atmosphere as wonderful as well as the staff, and the flavors are even better. I recommend trying the brisket as well as the ribs. The mac and cheese is also heaven. Do yourself a favor and stop by today!
Didn't have many non meat options but in the meat section it was amazing
Awesome place for dinner. One of my favorite meals. Try the burnt ends they are delicious. Make sure you are prepared for a short wait in line. But trust me it's worth it.
Best ribs in New Orleans. Small place but outstanding BBQ. kinda hard to find but well worth the search.
If you visit try the peanut butter pie i was floor of how good it was it was so good o was upset i didn't have more.
It was my first time visiting, the ribs were on point everything was good and decent. I recommended if you want some good ribs are BBQ!!!
Service is fast and nice. Lots of people. Ribs were perfect !! Loved it. Cook was perfect with a great taste. Very happy I've found this place. I recommend
Hands down best Ribs. Jump onto Google maps, find the next bus or Uber and enjoy yourself.
Really great bbq; highly suggest the trek out here if you’re in the neighborhood.
Great service and prices, great location, salads definitely get a bunch of stars.
Nice bbq spot in NOLA
Great food. Friendly staff. Gets busy!
Awesome and very fast service. Tried and loved the brisket. Sauces are so good ! It's a must do in NOLA.
Delicious BBQ , the brisket was fantastic. All food came out so quick, and they're moderately priced.
Food was excellent best bbq ever and the brisket soooooo good.
Great bbq food. As a tourist, we found the local food favorite. Good beer selection as well.
Seriously some of the best BBQ I've ever had, brisket burnt tips are to die for, the sides are equally amazing, I've definitely found my BBQ spot in NOLA!
The Bar B Que is just good . The staff is not too friendly . The atmosphere is great . It's small but they do have a patio
Good experience great food.
The ribs were good but sitting outside was the pits. Very smoky, hot and the flies we're awful. If you are going to have outside dining, make it comfortable. Only one employee was actually friendly and smiled. We are visiting NO but this probably won't be a stop for us next time we visit. Sides were less than stellar.
Great food, reasonable prices
Smoked BBQ never tasted so delicious in this throwback spot.
Best bbq joint in New Orleans. The brisket is amazing. Definitely worth the stop off to visit!
In a city with culture, in a tranquil hood on a corner with a small park on the opposing side this local has a big head start from all the restaurants in french quarter (where i think the true culture is getting lost). Not only the location is great, but also the interior is loaded with ¿things? ..aaand then the food tops everything (+_+)
Best BBQ I ever had, hands down. Great workers and service
Amazing smoked foods, so worth it
Best ribs I've ever had
Well this place isn't located in the best places and it is a little rough on the outside but if you are visiting New Orleans then put this on your food list. The ribs and sausage was really good but their brisket is like butter. You will not be disappointed with this place. Military friendly service and polite staff. If and when I go back I will make sure I stop here. Prices are okay but it was all worth it.
Odd building but fabulous food
Not a place is have known about without a friend having told me about it. It's a bit out of the downtown, but worth the trip. So much character and the food was quite good.
The BBQ is sOoO.... Good
Family friendly good food and the desserts were the best.
If you're looking for the best bbq in new orleans, YOU'VE FOUND IT!!! I got the "W" special which comes with brisket, pulled pork and two ribs. The brisket, while pretty fatty, was extremely tinder and juicy. The pulled pork was similarly fatty like the brisket but also extremely good. Best pulled pork I've had in the city for sure. And the ribs. Where do I start with those. They tasted like the ribs god plucked from adam for eve but instead slow cooked them until they got to my mouth. While the pulled pork and brisket needed sauce for flavor, the ribs were perfect on their own. Best ribs in the city without a doubt. And while the parking was bad and the seating was worse the food makes up for all of that. This little hole in the wall place surprised the hell out of me because of the price for what you get. Yes the price is high but you get what you pay for, which is the best bbq in the entire city of New Orleans.
It's good BBQ and the prices are good. I love the neighborhood, this is my old neighborhood so im real comfortable here. However the down side is the seating, there is not much room to sit but if you can find a seat it's defanatly worth the wait
There’s better brisket in Texas and possibly better pulled pork too but I have never had better ribs than @ The Joint. You think you can manage the 3 meat platter. You can’t. Try it anyway. Potato Salad is exceptional. Mac and cheese is solid but not the best. Good beer selection and interesting cocktails. Get a to-go cup and hang out on the stoop after dinner. Post-Katrina story behind this place worth getting to know too. The Joint started the Bywater renaissance.
Omg the food is delicious there. The place itself has a cool vibe. I'll be coming again on my next visit
Best bbq in the neighborhood. Friendly staff
Nice BBQ joint. Good food but could have been hotter the 2nd time I had it
Good barbecue nice nice people neighborhood atmosphere
Great barbecue! They are known for their ribs but I really enjoyed the brisket. Great sauce, and the restaurant itself has a nice local vibe. Good selection of cocktails, and the prices are very reasonable for barbecue. Worth taking the walk out of the quarter if you’re visiting and want to eat an authentic place!
5 Star for food Atmosphere isn't the best but the food makes up for it.
Simply the best..I wish they sold their sauce by the 5 gallon bucket.
BBQ was delicious
Fantastic traditional smoked food. Brisket and ribs were to die for.
Stopped in for quick bite. Excellent BBQ brisket sandwich. Decent slaw. Good bartender. Excellent value. Can’t wait to return.
This is a very unique New Orleans barbecue establishment. The food is definitely flavorful. The ribs and sausage were the best. Love the ambiance. We will be back.
Great ribs! I was extremely surprised to find such good ribs in NOLA, of all the places I travel. I would love to go again sometime.
Exactly what you want in a BBQ joint. Excellent service and food options
Best BBQ I’ve tried, in particular the brisket. It’s my benchmark. When I travel to New Orleans this is my go-to place, a bit disappointing that the last times I went, I arrived twice 10 minutes after opening and didn’t get my burnt ends.
Best smoked brisket and ribs I have ever tasted. If you like BBQ; then you will love "The Joint!"
I love ribs and this is the best ribs I've ever had in new Orleans. And the potato salad isn't bad eithe. Would def buy ribs from this place from now on.
This place was delicious! Had the pulled pork ribs, and mac and cheese. The meat was moist and not dried out and the mac and cheese was creamy. Growing up in east Tennessee, this comes pretty close to my favorites back home! I will be back!!
Always a solid choice. Staff is always great, awesome bartender and excellent food.
Awesome eatery with amazing smoked bbq plates potato salad is top notch
One of the best barbecues in town. Hands down.
I have loved in the NOLA for about 6 months. This is by far the best BBQ place in the city and some of the best I have been anywhere. Cool little place to eat off the beaten path. I really enjoy the food and eating here.
Best bbq place I've ever been to period...
Casual and delicious meat. Order from the counter, sit inside in both or outside on a picnic table. The options were enormous, the ribs were my favorite
Great barbecue! Well worth the effort to get there. We had 3 at our table and everyone enjoyed their meal.
Best barbecue I’ve ever had hands down I’ve been going there since they were in the tiny shack 10 years ago!!!!
Really superb all around BBQ, especially "Slide off Bone" ribs, Righteous Brisket, Pulled Pork in a truly neighborhood spot (booths, inside picnic tables, semi-outside patio seating; good little bar. You know it's great shen you can smell the Q 3 blocks away. All at a reasonable price to boot.
Bomb food in a quirky setting, loved it!
Great food, fast and excellent service.
This is up there with some of the best BBQ I've had! Classic southern bbq flavors and great service, hospitality. Well worth the trip out of central New Orleans to get a serious feed!
This joint had some seriously cool soul. The BBQ was great. I had the "W" which came with some pulled pork, some brisket, and two ribs. The portions were huge and delicious. The pulled pork, ribs, and brisket were all super tender. The original sauce has a slight heat to it, which I enjoyed. The vinegar sauce is delicious and makes you pucker a little. I recommend going with the "W."
It was the first time there for everyone in my group. The staff was so polite and welcoming. Everybody loves their food, which was seasoned well and delicious. We definitely will be going back the The Joint.
Great BBQ. Nothing fancy just hreat food. The ribs are perfect
Hands down the best bbq south of 1-12
Meats cooked perfectly smokey flavourful. Manly cocktails & more!
Great food and a fun, unique vibe! The mac and cheese was great.
Went here for my birthday last week, as it is one of the best bbq joints in the city. Unfortunately, one of the hippie hobos that work the register stole credit card # and made online purchases before our food even arrived. If it looks like a thief, and smells like a thief, chances are they work at the joint. Cannot recommend the food until the staff is overhauled!
The food n service was great....
Great Food and Cocktails!!!!!!!! Great if you are a local or a visitor to the city.
Best brisket in City hands down! #nocompetion
Woohoo!! When you hear that this place has the best BBQ in New Orleans, THEY AIN'T LYING!! This place is f#&king great!! High quality meats, amazing recipes, phenomenal atmosphere, and a super friendly staff! Everything we tried here was delicious, and we sampled 3 or 4 plates while we were there. If you're in town and need a fix for some fantastic home made goodness, stop on by and get to grubbin'!! Definitely reccomend!! 5 stars all day!
Food is better then Dicky's BBQ pit but I wouldn't say award winning !!! Mac and cheese always is served warm almost cold if you would and they said sorry that's just how it comes ... The food is warm also idk about other people but I like hot food not warm almost cold food . I truly can make better taking ribs in my backyard... Nice place to go check out though it you want a decent meal with a nice vibe area to sit down and eat .
The barbecue is great, but not enough reviews about the PIE. Say what???! The pie is amazing. They have key lime (amazing), peanut butter (amazing) and pecan-- you guessed it, amazing! Nice outdoor seating too!
Great beer and Service
It's worth the trip to The Joint for the most delicious bbq you've had! I chose the 2 meat dish with one side. The ribs and pulled pork had the most amazing flavor and were so tender! The coleslaw was a little different for my taste. Fun patio dining area, friendly staff. I dug into my food so fast that all I got was a photo of the gigantic snoker out back!
Fabulous barbeque, a must visit. Try the W platter. Wonderful sides
Best barbeque of the trip! Definitely worth going a bit out of your way.
Last time here 10 yrs ago, haven't lost a step. A must try everytime!
Ribs were good, no BBQ sauce
The food is to die for. The barbecue has just the right amount of flavor and it melts in your mouth. Oh, and the staff is wonderful.
Absolute favorite BBQ restaurant in New Orleans, possibly the South East. They bring their own take on smoking with some Cajun flare. The building is a total dive, which is often a must for a great BBQ. This is off the beaten path - and where the locals eat. (forget all of those tourist spots). My personal favorite is the Smoked Brisket. Also - be sure to try the home made key-lime pie.
The food is AMAZING.. Nice, quiet restaurant in by water area for some grrreat barbecue..
Wonderful food and a great atmosphere! The BBQ was incredible and the place is very relaxed and laid back.
Ok I've been eating and cooking smoked and BBQ dishes personally for years. So I googled eats in the area I was visiting and seen a place I can walk to. It is called the Joint. Old wood restaurant that New Orleans French quarter feel. So I ordered the two meat combo. I had the brisket and the pulled pork my sides were the macaroni and cheese and this I never tasted before potato salad. The entire meal was juicy tender mouth watering didn't need a knife OMG delicious. But I want to say the potato salad was the best potato salad I've ever had in my life. The very light hint of horseradish wow I can't put it in words. Well it will be on my monthly to eat place. Thank you for a amazing lunch today.
Delicious bbq - help support our local restaurant community!!
Fall-off-the-bone ribs, tender brisket, succulent chicken.
The food, staff and service were all absolutely amazing. Highly recommend. Next time I come back I’m trying the ribs.
Great place right off of the river. Good vibes & food...
This barbeque is delicious. It's worth the trip out to it. The staff is great and the service is fantastic. The food is absolutely fantastic. If they have some order the burnt ends they are fantastic. The ribs are also very delicious. Even the desserts are amazing. The key lime pie was phenomenal. If you are looking for barbeque take the trip here!
The best BBQ I've ever had!! The pulled pork is so juicy and melts in your mouth!
The ribs were excellent...first time there on July 4th and were they ever busy. Will be back!!
Hands down favorite BBQ place! The beer selection is also amazing! And the staff is always friendly.
First time visiting New Orleans. Instead of trying a Cajun restaurant or something in that nature, we decided on BBQ. I live in an area that BBQ is something that everyone tries to master. I've tried Texas BBQ, Memphis BBQ...needless to say, I've tried quite a bit of different kinds of BBQ. I was shocked that this hole in a wall restuarant knew what they were doing when it came to BBQ. Easily the best BBQ I've ever had! The meat was juicy, seasoned great, and down right delicious! You have to try it!
Really good bbq!!! Tender ribs and amazing brisket!!! Best of all the prices or good enough to keep you coming back!!
The best BBQ ever. This place is worth to visit if you want to taste local food and beer. Very fast service.
BBQ done right and fun laid back atmosphere. Outstanding ribs and yummy mac and cheese. The burnt end bark from my half slab was divine. There is aways room for pie so we had the pecan, it did not disappoint!
Freaking awesome kai! (Food)
Good food in a beautiful neighborhood. The meat was delicious. If I didn’t suffer with gas and indigestion for the next 5 hours, I would definitely rate 5 stars...
Being a native Georgian I love BBQ and Louisiana isn't know for their BBQ but I thought I'd try it. This place follows the Texan tradition (which is good but not the best *bias noted) which is more charred and seasoned than sauce. The sides were really good and again done more Texan style with vinegars and seasonings. While Texan isn't my favorite style, I do think this place has pretty good Texan style BBQ. If you've never had Texan style I recommend this place. The atmosphere was good and the service friendly and quick. I sampled both the beef and pork ribs (I'm partial to the pork) and the pulled pork sandwich with slaw on it. Again I'd recommend this spot if you've never had Texan style BBQ.
Not overwhelmed with the food, very dry very vinegar tasting coleslaw. Mac and cheese was stupid overdone mush. Ribs, full rack, good. Regular tea was good.
The best bbq I've ever eaten. Great service! Will definitely go back!
Decent food great service friendly staff.
4.6 stars does not do this Joint justice. The pulled pork rocks. Brisket was great. Pork ribs are not my first choice but theirs were very good. Sauces are great. Staff is nice and helpful. It’s locals and great ambiance. Please give me a like if you find this review helpful.
My favorite spot when I want BBQ and it's the best, Period...
Amazing food and wonderful service! We will definitely bring friends and family here when they come to town. We never thought we had great BBQ in our area.
The Joint is a neat little ecclectic place. The food is GRRREAT! Nothing fancy, but delicious!
The best ribs every. Will always return. Never a dull moment and you will love everything on the menu.
Fantastic service! Caylen's the best, made us feel right at home. The ribs, brisket and baked beans were awesome too, pulled pork with the thicker sauce was delicious as well. Overall, great experience
Great feed, all the meat was good. Personally the chicken was a little dry, although the brisket and ribs were the best that I've ever had. Reasonably priced also.
Some of the best coffee I have had in a while
Top notch. Fantastic food, quick and flavorful. One of my top three snacks when I come to NOLA. Fair price and great service. One guy who works there knew Bones won the dunk contest years ago. Phenomenal knowledge of NBA history and lore. Always take a cab or uber to here if your looking for real BBQ while in town.
So good. Gets busy around 11:30 every morning full of locals which tells you everything you need to know. Worth the walk or Uber!
Best BBQ I've ever had! The Joint is a small BBQ place away from the tourist area of town. This place looks like an older house converted to a restaurant. We were sent here by awesome guys at the Hotel Mazarin and with a little hesitation (as they said, its not where tourists go), but it was a very short taxi ride from the French Quarter and this is where you get real food. Place was full of locals enjoying their dinner. So much of everything (brisket, pulled pork, ribs, sides to die for and great local beer) for very very little money. Make sure you leave a big tip as these guys really give you value for your money. We sat outside close by the smoker and could not have had a better meal.
Very good Bbq. Loved the quick service, and festive atmosphere. Will definitely be back!!!!
Hole in the wall, in the middle of a neighborhood out in the boondocks, but omg was the food delicious!!! They ran out of half of their menu delicious!! Super nice staff and a great ambiance. Small spot. Like a backyard setting.
Killer food just have concerns of cleanliness in the kitchen, based off of the dining area. Everything is sticky yet, it is a BBQ joint
Literally, the best ribs I've ever eaten and please believe me when I say I do not take this term lightly. In dreams, I return to this BBQ joint as my 'happy place'. Everything about this place is perfect, from the food to the ambiance, I just wished I lived closer. Legendary, like for real, probably one of the best BBQ places in America (no lie).
Great atmosphere, even better food, The Joint benefits from being a little out of the way for the Bourbon Street tourists. The wait was nonexistent, our food was ready quickly, and most importantly, the barbecue was outstanding.
I came here with my wife based on local recommendations. It is a bit out of the way and a definite Uber or bike ride to get there. I highly recommend it as their ribs are the meatiest and best I have ever had. I would say the place is a dive, but it is totally legit. They have a nice craft beer selection as well. We ordered the baked beans and potato salad and both were pedestrian at best. My wife had the beef brisket and it was too fatty. Even with all that, I highly recommend going here and just getting the ribs, and a beer!
Fantastic food from brisket to baked beans, everything is on point. Very prompt service plus seriously tasty food & drinks for a fair price. Can't go wrong at The Joint
Awesome bbg ribs!
Hands down the best Barbecue place in NOLA, we actually went for the pulled pork and they were out of it and we ended up eating the barbecue brisket which was the best I've ever had
Best BBQ I've ever had, by a mile. Great key lime pie as well!
Absolutely delicious. Easily the best barbeque I've had in the city and every one of the sides I've tried have been amazing. I definitely recommend the ribs brisket and pulled pork with or without their sauces; the cole slaw potato salad and macaroni are all great choices as well.
Great ribs ! Dine in or , take out casual daytime , neighborhood place, great location , nearby friendly bars and a few shops
Great place with a simple yet wonderful selection. There’s an old adage that says it’s better to do one thing but do it right ... well this place lives that motto. They do ribs and chicken and they do it well. If you have a sweet tooth try to peanut butter pie, it’s light, fluffy and will hit the spot.
One if the best BBQ restaurant in the New Orleans area. Have been here many if times and never had a bad meal. The people working here are awesome, always polite and helpful. Love the fall off the bone ribs and the flavor of the smoked chicken. Today they had a special, the roasted corn grits. Get it, it's to die for.
The barbecue was okay, the pecan pie was the best I've ever had in my life! And I'm 65 years old.
THE GOOD: Pulled pork Sausages/Links Service Ribs THE NOT SO GOOD: Not much After much research on where to try bbq food in New Orleans, I chose this to be the place that I will try on my one day in New Orleans. I can't say that I was disappointed. I ordered the three plate combo plate and a sausage to try. For me the pulled pork was one of the best I have ever had, you didn't need any sauce it just tasted that good. The ribs were also outstanding, if I came back I would order just those two to really enjoy it more. The brisket though for me was not the best, it was not bad but just lacked something in my opinion. The sausage was tasty as well. If I had more room in my stomach, then I would have eaten more. The mac and cheese was tasty and well worth a go, the food is served with pickles and bread. I can't compare this place to other restaurants in New Orleans, but compared to what I have had in the US, it would rank in my top 10 places to try. The service was very quick and friendly.
Exceeded all expectations which is super high considering all the hype which is so true. This place is authentic to the T. Not coming here and visiting NOLA is a mistake.
Always good BBQ. LOVE the potato salad. Reasonable prices and respectable portions.
Oh man, what happened to The Joint?! I haven't been in about a year and the food quality has definitely dipped. Fatty pulled pork and flavorless mac & cheese. So sad.
Not a fancy place, but the food is good.
we were led to believe the Joint would be akin to the second coming of Christ. Sadly, good but not great. The pulled pork was underwhelming. I've had better in NY. The burnt ends were tasty but we thought Cochon's ribs were the best we've had anywhere.
Location tucked deep in the marigny near the river. Campy and comfortable layout, great staff. Food is priced right and well done. The barbecue style here Pierce to be Carolina, with vinegar-based sauces. They are okay but not as good as I would have expected, and one of them appear to have been fermented possibly unintentionally.
If the pulled pork was any more tender it would be liquid. So good it doesn't need sauce, though try the sauce as that is great too.
Delicious and affordable. A super casual Bywater spot for amazing bbq.
So I'm hanging out in New Orleans for the last 3 days waiting on my favorite barbecue place to get some ribs put together but they can't seem to pull it off. So I'm talking to this bus driver on the number 10 route name Brian who tells me about this place called "The Joint". Tells me he's never heard of my favorite place called "Dunbar's" but swears up and down that I'll get great barbecue here at this place called "The Joint". So I called ahead to see how the parking is, they tell me I got to park out on the street. Alright... So I take a chance and drive cross the river over this place. Google had no trouble finding it but I did. Look right past it several times. All's I can say to your friends take the time to find this place. And Brian on the number 10 bus you're damn right it's great barbecue! Thank you Brother. Worth the trip from anywhere when you're here in New Orleans. ~V.
