REVIEWS OF The French Press IN Louisiana

Laura Mott

Delicious and wonderful atmosphere! Food takes a minute to come out, but it is so worth it! I split the French toast with a friend and got the candied bacon appetizer. Wonderful! I had a bit of everything that came to our table of friends and loved everything!

adam delcambre

Different but tasty food. Nice place for a family feast. I suggest trying either the Cajun Benedict or the Shrimp/Grits.

Chris Burns

Great breakfast/brunch spot. Food was amazing. Don't go if your in a hurry, but worth the wait!

Michael Whitley

Best breakfast. Must try the soups!

PATRICIA M

Great food! Quick staff.

Bounmy Phetdara

Service is pretty good, food is always great.

Jenny Ezekiel

I really like the food here and have tried to give this place a chance so many times. But it never fails, every time I go it takes hours for someone to take my order and for the food to arrive. For example, today I got there for noon. It took 20 minutes for someone to take our order. We finally received our order after 1:00 pm. It tooks over 40 minutes. The last time I went for lunch, they took so long that my friend had to leave before he even received his food. Obviously, this is a problem that will never be resolved. Today will be the last day I ever eat at French Press.

Rod Rezvani

Excellent food in a boutique restaurant environment. You can NOT be in hurry, when you there. There is usually a line of people waiting to be seated, & service is not fast, but great. Obviously & understandably somewhat pricey. Young & trendy clientele. All & all a Great eating experience.

Chara Lea Wilkins

The place has a relaxed atmosphere and the interior is tastefully decorated. The staff are attentive and friendly. The coffee was excellent. The menu had a good variety of options. I didn't try the food but I look forward to doing so in the future.

Robert Bache III

Terrible service. Waited over an hour for food after we ordered. The food was very good . They need to get there kitchen more efficient are let people know how long it's going to take for their food to arrive. The waiter was very friendly and funny but he was overwhelmed with the amount of tables he was attending to. We will go back but this time we will order a appetizer are two.

Josh Hartfield

I ordered fried catfich bites. They tell me 30 minutes later that they are out of fish so it’ll be replaced with shrimp. Ok, I’m starting to get aggrivated now. An hour and a half later, and I still have yet to receive my order. It wasn’t until two hours after I arrived that I finally received it, even noticing that some people who arrived before me received their order before I did. Ridiculous. I recommend eating here if you find enjoyment in waiting and receiving food that you didn’t order.

Daniel Harris

Service was a little slow and inattentive, but food was excellent!. I Had Grillage on Grits...delicious. Ask for some extra bread so you dont leave any brown gravy behind!

Sarah Featherston

I’ve been here before, plenty of times, and really enjoyed my food... but the last few times I’ve gone the service seems to be at a new low. My French toast was BURNT, like actual charcoal and the kitchen had just flipped it over and served it with the “good side” up. Not to mention the 45 minute wait for our food to all come out at different times. We were only three people and it really wasn’t as busy as I’ve seen it in the past.

Michael Cournoyer

Not sure how many stars to give. First visit, place is full, waited 30 minutes for a table, which is fine. Old building with crappy wobbly tables. Sent some utensils back because they were dirty. Waitress comes for drink order and says they don't have enough glasses for everyone to have water. Brings drinks in little 3 inch glasses. We order and then wait...and wait...and WAIT. Several tables that arrived after us are served well before us. An hour and 10 minutes later they bring one side item. 10 minutes after that our order finally arrives. On the other hand, the food is really excellent and prices are reasonable. Just be prepared for awful service and an atrocious wait for your food.

CajunRealtor Phil

Love this place we do meeting there every now and then.

Carissa Terrill

LOVE the food. Very long wait times on the weekend, and kind of crowded. Quoting a friend... the inside is NOLA-esque.

Tyson Richard

Pretty good. Had chicken and waffles. Could have used a little salt for my personal preference. Other than that it was good. Prices are what you'd expect for downtown eating. Not really a kids place. Will revisit.

Kevin Fitzgerald

This place is amazing. Great drinks, awesome food with a new take on the classics. Above all TJ our sever is the GOAT. Definitely coming back.

Paul Neel

Unbelievable food! Such flavors!

Marcus Cepeda

It's hard to not give The French Press a five star review because the food was absolutely phenomenal. The Cajun Benedict was very good. Coming from California I had never had anything like it and it was delicious. The place was very cozy and rustic and had a really cool vibe to it. The food and the place stole the show. However, it is hard to overlook how slow the food came out and the lack of service that we received. It was very unorganized and although our waitor was nice, he was always rushing to do the next thing rather than focusing on us and I saw that in the other workers as well. We went when there was only about 8 other people in the restaurant and most of them had their food already and it took our food around a half an hour to come out which felt kind of ridiculous. Like I said, when the food did come out, we did not regret waiting. The food outshines the negatives of the place and I would definitely go back.

Selina Angelle-Trahan

The service was bad. The waitress was unfriendly. The food was ok but took forever to come out.

Jim Hutchison

5 star food. 1 star service. Incredibly slow and inefficient seating process. Nice waitstaff with zero sense of urgency. Food takes 40 minutes or more to come out. I really wish the service was better.

Danny Blakely

Nice atmosphere. Great service. Fantastic food. I will be going back for brunch again and will also try out the lunch menu.

Jason Faulk

Tons of potential for this restaurant located in Downtown Lafayette. Server (Camille) was very nice and friendly and probably the best part of our visit. However upon arrival we had a 10 minute wait to be seated when there were at least three tables available that needed to be cleaned. There was really no sense of urgency to get us seated and made the situation feel somewhat awkward. Out appetizer of Truffle Fries came out relatively quickly and were very good. Once we ordered our food the service was very slow. I did not time how long it took our food to come out but it was much longer than usual. Not only did the food take an extensive amount of time but it did not all come out at the same time. Food was very good and had a great presentation. Overall this restaurant has unlimited potential because of the setting they have created and the unique food that they serve but they must do better in regards to the timing of their service.

Kit Hoff

While the food here was really good, we don't plan to go back. We waited over an hour for french toast, chicken and waffles, and an order of pancakes. When the food finally arrived, the chicken and french toast arrived long before my pancakes and the plates were so hot we burned ourselves. Oh, but the plate with the pancakes wasn't hot at all. This tells me they sat under the warmer for an extended period of time. And because they had sat under the warmer, the cheese on my husband's waffles had started to separate and was unappetizing. The waitstaff was fine? Nothing to write home about but in their defese I believe they were understaffed. And a petty complaint, why does 90% of the menu have to be pork based? I'm highly allergic to pork and I could only eat a few things.

Donald Edwards

Great food but hope you have time to wait. Takes along time to get your food.

Ader A

Great breakfast restaurant. Located downtown lafayette. Service was excellent and the meal was great. If you're looking for casual eating this is the place. Super clean and friendly, helpful staff.

David Boquet

Great atmosphere. Quirky, downtown feel. Food is excellent. Service pleasant. A good place to go to sit and enjoy some time with friends over breakfast. Not the best idea if you're in a rush. A place like this is not just food, it's an experience.

Bennett Marcel

I was great. Good service

Alexina Jones

I would love to give this place a better review this is the place my boyfriend would mom stop talk about because of how great the food is. But our server was awful. She spend 20 mintues talking to a coupke near the fron of the building. Causing her to not take our drink order and then forget our orders. I had to as the girl behind the "bar" to help us. But I will say order sweet baby bresus and the praline bacon. Soooo good.

James Deville

Amazing food. The Sweet Baby Breezus and Cajun Benedict are now my favorite foods! Can't wait to come back!

Trey Palmer

Another place in Lafayette that has wonderful breakfasts. I had the breakfast sandwich with goat cheese - highly recommended. It's also not a place for quick service (sit back, relax, leave the smartphone alone and have a conversation), but the staff are polite, pleasant and helpful. For the curious, the restaurant is in a former news paper print shop - it gives it the industrial feel and a lot of the decor. Yes, I would go back to eat there again.

LeeAnn McDaniel

The food is outstanding and the service is okay. They are slow to take your order and bring you your food BUT every time I’m there it’s super busy so I would say that is why. The wait is worth it!

anonymousfluidity

Excellent food and beautiful ambience

Hunter Wolf

Great food and super friendly staff.

Brennan David

Valentine's Dinner was great. 5 course.

Shawn Richard

The food is amazing...when they bring it out...which takes forever.

Jimmy Giovingo

SWEET BABY BREESUS Food was amazing!

Eugene Marshall

The place was well appointed but unpretentious. Service was very friendly, and the staff were very sensitive to my every need. The food was really delicious and arrived quickly. I'd love to come back some day!

Beau Wilcox

Food is AMAZING and the service was perfect. Rikki is a phenomenal server, ask for her and you will get the best service around.

Leslie Renard

Went to the Father's Day buffet and there wasn't anything I tasted that I wouldn't recommend. Every morsel was delicious!

Matthew Eggleston

This place is amazing, the food was awesome, kind of a busy place. But business is booming. They had bacon in their bloody Mary's! I mean come on, how fricken cook is that? 10/10 would recommend and we're from Arizona, so we'll definitely be coming back and eating here when we're in town.

Todd Style

Great service great food and a pretty waitress

Aaron T

Despite the long wait time, the food was great and our server was awesome,we had alot of people, she was very kind and polite. Can't recall what her name was but her name starts with M, maybe malorie

Te Anne

Takes too long to get my order

Clint Bates

The best cajun resteraunt. Get the Cajun Benedict!

Randy Wenner

Food was good. Very unorganized and does not seem to have it together. From time of arrival 30 minute wait. When seared ordered our food took almost an hour to get it. My dish was delivered to the wring table. By the server of this table. Dropped off wrong food and did not catch the mistake. The gentleman who was given my food order Gumbo and was given my breakfast sandwich and instead of saying this is not what was order he took a bite. So now they have to rwmake my food. Another 10 to 15 minutes. I got a apology but that was about it. As said need to be more organized

Nicholas Leonards

Great brunch spot- excellent good and cocktails

Daniel McNeill

Waiting for an hour so far. No food yet

Sonja Beverly

I never had a biscuit stuffed with bacon and boudin topped with steen syrup!!!! My side of cheddar grits were on point! I ate every last bit of it!

Donna Kovach

I rarely do reviews but this experience was so bad I felt compelled to do so. After waiting for an hour and 20 minutes for our food, the hamburger we ordered well done was almost raw-blood pooling In the plate. They said it would take took long to re-cook it so the order was changed to grits and grillades. We got cheese grits. Then when the correct thing arrives it had no meat and two eggs. ( eggs weren’t ordered) the sandwich I ordered was cold and the potato salad was so runny I would have needed a spoon to eat or. We will not be. backup. TERRIBLE experience!’

william doucet

Great food but takes awhile to get it. Rather noisy but quaint atmosphere.

Brett Guidry

I ordered the cajun Benedict and the sweet baby breesus. It was incredible. It was an explosion of flavor in my mouth. Also ordered giant mimosa and bloody mary were top notch

Kim Howard

My eyes had seen glory! I tried to refocus my eyes back to the menu so I could find something. The waitress walked up and asked what we wanted to eat. My friend asked if I wanted a mimosa and I was like SURE! Didn't realize there was different kinds, this girl was hooked! So, I went ahead and ordered the breakfast sandwich with goat cheese and my friend ordered the chicken and waffles. That darn sandwich with that goat cheese was EVERYTHING!!! I started taking small bites to savor every bit of that sandwich. His chicken and waffles was out of this world.

Regine Skrydon

I'm sure it tastes fabulous if you can stomach the wait.... I waited over 30 minutes until a guy came in an asked about his to go order.... he waited 20 more minutes next to me until I asked when my order might arrive... told she didn't want to guess "in case its longer, I dont want you to be disappointed"... but maybe 30 minutes?? Too late, already sad. So I bounced out. Hope the to go guy managed to get a refund or his order :/

Sherrie Beck

We arrived right as they opened on Saturday morning, and were delighted with the menu. With 3 hungry adults and 3 hungry kids, and hour of waiting was just too much. I would go back for sure, just better educated about how long it may take. Our server, Courtney, was great, although very busy. The stuffed French toast was the best, and the Sweet Baby Breesus also very good my daughter wasn’t happy i forgot to order her gravy On the side of the chicken fried steak, but i didn’t mind since that meant she didn’t want it and the adults got to eat it. . It was very good.

Holly Ann

Excellent coffee. I had the blueberry pancakes. They were delicious and I couldn't finish them all! Service was great and atmosphere is charming.

Michael Sosa

Cajun Benedict was amazing, the boudin patty on the French bread topped with gumbo is genius. PJ was a great server, he went out of his way making sure we were taken care of. Definitely recommend.

Madaline Comeaux

Restaurant was unclean. Food was great though.

Katrena Porter

The food was good but the service was terrible. Our waitress took our order and essentially never came back. She never checked on us to see if our order was okay (it wasn’t right). We were checked on more by bussers than our own waitress. We never got refills; we waited at least 20 minutes for our ticket. Oh, and we weren’t the only patrons who had to put our coats back on because it was so cold inside. We wanted to try and like this place, but this isn’t the first time we’ve had poor service here.

Camy M

Great brunch!

Blaine David

The food is incredible. Best brunch in town. YES YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT as you can see by the reviewers who believe that they need to be seated like cattle in a fast food restaurant. If you demand to be seated the instant you arrive I suggest McDonald’s or Waffle House for the people who believe they are entitled to be first for everything.

Michelle Helminger

I want to love this place SO bad because their food is truly delicious and I am a huge fan of brunch. However, the service we received on a Sunday was horrendous. We were seated around 12:00 (after waiting about 45 minutes which is to be expected at a Sunday brunch spot). Our waitress, to her credit, was very attentive and we were never lacking in drinks. The food service was just SO SO slow. We didn't receive food until at least 1:30. There was a point at which we looked around the restaurant and not a single person had food on their table. That is so unacceptable. The menu items are not special enough to warrant this. I cannot even imagine how small their kitchen must be to result in an entire restaurant not having food and then individual plates SLOWLY trickling out one at a time. Our table of 5 didn't even receive all five meals at once when they finally arrived. Again, the food is very very good, but I don't think we'll be coming back or recommending this place until the food service has improved. How frustrating for the wait staff to have to apologize to every single table for the unreasonable food wait times.

Chelsi Thibodeaux

First time here two days ago and while we were taken aback by both the prices and the wait time for our food, it was all 100% worth it. Zero regrets and we went home with leftovers. We arrived around 10:45 and ate around noon. The chicken and waffles was to die for. My husband couldn't stop eating from my plate and I can guarantee it's what we are ordering next time as well! Ace!

Ms. Ray-T. Cloutier

Cajun Benny is always good for your soul

Michael Rgnonti

Good food.... service could have been nicer....but all in all good place. .I recommend the boudin ball poboy.

Melinda Bailey

Great food! Busy atmosphere. We got here around 10:15 and were going to wait for a table but sat at the bar. Really busy! Great food! I got the breakfast sandwich with goat cheese and a side of cheese grits. My husband got the stuffed French toast. So good and they have great coffee too!

BEENA GOSINE

Delicious food, fast & friendly service.

Edjah Man man man

We were on our way to Nashville and my wife found this place on maps. I'm so happy that we stopped because the French toast and the Cajun Benedict and the Praline Bacon was TO DIE FOR! Thank you! It was heavenly!

Cheryl Winey

I have been to restaurant on a prior occasion when passing through LAFAYETTE and it was very tasty and memorable. My last visit was aweful. We were told that the prior cook had “walked out the weekend prior.” I wish management would have seen the value in this cook that decided to vacate the premises. Our food was aweful!! We ordered the blackened shrimp poboy. The shrimp were BURNT!! The cook returned our plates to us via the waitress saying that “it’s supposed to be that way.” My friend decided to order the gumbo to replace her meal and she stated that tasted like roux! It was very dark. To add the insult....the cook did not want to credit our bill!! The waitress had told us it was up to the cook. We did still ask for management which made every right! Service provided by the waitress was great!! I forget her name however her husband was from France!

Diane Coussan

Colin is the BEST wait staff. Treated us like royalty on Valentine's day and again today on our 48th anniversary. Thanks Colin!

Peter Samuels

A great place to enjoy good food within a refined, but not overly posh, venue. The service has been great every time that I’ve been. My wife and I consider it a place to visit on the occasion of just celebrating life. I certainly recommend the bacon and the french toast!

Malcolm Guidry

Every time we come to Lafayette we eat here and always thoroughly enjoy it. We highly recommend The French Press!

Daphne Antonetti

Food was absolutely delish...saw this place recommended in roadtrippers on our travels from Orlando FL To California and we are very happy we chose to stop here. James was very courteous and efficient. Not too far off of I10....make the trip...its worth it. French toast was devine

Jeff Kudrick

Wonderful! Cozy atmosphere with excellent dishes. The dark rue gumbo is spot on.

Monte Bertrand

Super friendly staff and excellent coffee. Truly made me feel at home. Will def be back soon.

Carolyn Hubbard

Awesome as always. Best pressed coffee in town!

Brandon Rife

Service was excellent, food was pretty good but a bit higher priced, and the wait was loooooooooooong. Way too long for the portion sizes we got. We were seated quickly and got drinks quickly, but the food took over an hour to arrive. It was a bit busy, so it was somewhat understandable, but expect it if you go in a weekend.

Melanie Comeaux-Antoine

Today the service is not good. We were seated at a dirty table with food all over the chairs. Waitress asking us for IDs and no one asked the really young people next to us. Disappointing, because I really like coming here

Shawna Schuler

Went in here for Breakfast on our way out of town. We were seated quickly and proceeded to wait forever for our waiter. They were busy, but they werent packed. We ordered our food and waited... and waited... and waited some more. We finally asked how long our food would be after about 30 mins and were were told at least 30 mins more. We advised our waiter we would be leaving to which he replied that he would check on our food. Came back and they hadnt even started our ticket yet. We left. 2 stars as the place looked nice?

Jake Junkin

Hosted oure rehearsal dinner, very good service and food.

Jeanne Nash

Food is awesome and mimosa had the grits and grillades and bacon. Egg avocado on toasted croissant amazing staff interesting

M J

Met the girls there for a brunch. High recommended; great prices, delicious food and service was timely and informative. Long wait due to high volume brunch time but worth the wait!

Sameer Mandke

Fantastic gem in Lafayette with nice little twists on classic Cajun, French, and Creole cuisine. Huge portions, fantastic service, left with a full stomach and a smile on my face!

Victoria Thomas

This place 'used' to be great. However, when I went recently for brunch, they were out of 2 items on the menu, the waitress was not very knowledgeable about what was available, and the wait for the food was about an hour. They were pouring hot coffee left & right, but that's about the only thing going for them. Hopefully they will step it up a notch.

Kim Dao

The server was very nice and friendly. The food took about an hour to arrive. It was mediocre. We ordered the cajun Benedict and the acadian egg and cheese. I had 2 bites of the Benedict until I found 2 good size egg shells in it. Second time coming here and I don't think I'll be back. If you're really hungry and don't want to wait an hour or more for your food, I don't recommend coming here.

Ryan Duhon

Worth the wait! Great food and drinks too

Tiffany Adams

We arrived here at 12:15 and were seated immediately. We placed our drink orders and food orders pretty quickly, but were not brought our food until 1:40. The restaurant was not packed, and several people who arrived after us received their food before we did. The waitress seemed to be avoiding our table, and would quickly replace our drinks without asking us how we we're doing. Once the food did arrive, it was very good, but I'm not sure if that's because we were so hungry anything would have tasted amazing. I would be less irritated by the situation if we would have just been informed there was a delay, instead of ignoring us. Bottom line, food is very tasty, but the service leaves something to be desired.

Nick Dubuisson

The Cajun Benedict will change your life.

Harry Parsons

Service was the right amount. Our server kept his distance, but checked in on us at the appropriate times. Food takes a while to come out, but is completely worth the wait. The Cajun Benedict was excellent.

Benjamin Rogers

The food is delicious. The service is always pretty decent. The biggest draw back is there is always an hour wait. As well as you will rarely get in and out under an hour not counting wait time. Great brunch place! Just wouldn't go for lunch during the week.

Renee Jones

THIS IS A MUST FOR EVERYONE...CAJUN EGG BENEDICT

Kelsey Griffith

The French Press was a great spot for brunch with my parents! Good menu selection, but not so overwhelming that we had to study the menu like a textbook. My mom, a journalist, particularly liked the old printing press decor. Everything we ordered was delicious and the service was great. We hope to be back soon!

Joshua Scott

Great food, but a loooooong wait for it.

Godard Lindsay

So we tried this spot for a Sunday brunch..BEFORE the rush. Got there around 9:30 and there wasn't a big wait. They have a variety of mimosas if y'all are into that. A buddy of ours got the French press coffee and it was neat having a French press at French press haha. Okay to the food- truffle fries were A1. Frog legs taste like mini chicken.

Ryan J Butcher

The best chicken and waffles I'v ever had my life

Amy Broussard

Good food and drinks; however, don’t plan on coming if you’re in a hurry... the service is lacking. They seem under-staffed. Even with a 30 minute wait, after you get a table you’ll probably have to wait another 20 minutes before you even get water. Loud and chaotic atmosphere. Wobbly tables every time. The pepper shakers didn’t work, the soda (swamp pop) was expired / flat, the drip coffee was full of grounds, and one of the dishes was visibly dirty. I had enough time to write this detailed review as we waited 2 hours for food. I have photos too, but the app isn’t showing them for some reason.

Steve Miceli

Very unique. You have to have Canun Benedict once in your life.

Jessica Marie Allen

Relaxed atmosphere. But great service and food! Very welcoming place.

Stephen Sullivan

Great breakfast spot with a lot of character and a full bar. It's in a beautiful old room, love the praline bacon. The chicken and waffles and the Sweet Baby Breesus: biscuit sliders with bacon and a boudin ball with some cane syrup. Incredibly delicious and decadent. I'll definitely be coming back to French Press for breakfast or lunch on my next visit to Lafayette.

Larry Janicek

Sad day at the French Press. No boudan, no Chicken and never got my breakfast. Very frustrating for a place that's supposed to be good. Waiter never bothered to let us know breakfast wasn't coming. After 30 min we ask ? He says something to the affect only one cook, it's coming. He did manage 5 or 10 min later to deliver the granola and yogurt. "Your sandwich is coming" anyway we had a meeting to go too, cancelled the sandwich and got the bill. Which is I didn't Chase them and go to the register would have taken longer than the sandwich. Seems the place has collapsed. Of our radar now. The bacon was good.

Braden Billot

Good is great, but too entirely too long to get our food.

beardization

Good food for good $

Darrin Cavalier

I go mostly for the croque monsieur for work lunch. Plan ahead, the food often takes a bit to come out, but it is tasty. I'm not a fan of the gumbo, though. Still a great place!

Phillip Bennett

Cool place and great food! They were very nice, too. I I would definitely eat there again if I'm passing through.

Pamela Alexander

Breakfasts beyond belief. Food is wonderful. Well made and plated. Service is impeccable.

Bridget Breanye

Wonderful place for a friendly gathering. Reminds me of being in New Orleans. The food was beautifully prepared and delicious.

Deanna Wenner

Food was very good. Service was extremely slow and seemed to be confused. After waiting over 30 minutes for our food one of our party got there food and the rest of our food was given to other people. They were apologetic and remade our food fairly quick.

Kay Johnson

Breakfast was very good. Place clean, bloody mary's were the best.

Susan Moore

Good eats and goid coffee. On weekends be prepared to wait a bit to get a table. There are a few seats at the bar too so you can sometimes grab a seat there without waiting. Chicken n waffles delicious! Also the pecan bacon is yummy.

Claudia Collier

The food is superb; my recommendation is anything on the menu. (Gumbo breakfast is amazing) The service was outstanding: attentive but never obtrusive. The atmosphere is ideal. Great breakfast place!

N Shuford

I've eaten here a couple of times and have to say the food is worth the wait. The wait staff is great and are very attentive even while your waiting for your food. The menu isn't extensive, but you'll like anything you order. The atmosphere is casual and you'll often find groups of friends dining on Saturday morning for brunch.

Jeslyn Daigle

If you like hipster food and fancy mimosas, this is the place for you!

Alli Yeverino

We just had brunch here and everything was so good. PJ our server was so kind and welcoming. Will definitely be back when we visit!!

Lance Guillory

Went with the family for Sunday brunch. The food was great and the staff were friendly.

Ann Gremillion

Wait time for food way too long!

Josh Richard

Grits and grillades were cooked perfectly. Mom got the Cajun Benedict and it was as filling as the menu suggested. Both dishes came out hot and quick. I added Tabasco sauce but I'm always adding some zing to my dishes. The picture is of two medium poached eggs over chicken and sausage gumbo. Delicious.

Pete Dunavant

Excellent breakfast and service. True Cajun entrees well prepared and tasty. Service was attentive and efficient. My 3 companions had a boudin dish but I stuck with the more traditional breakfast sandwich.

JC Collier

Had an amazing chicken sliders with grits and fell in love. Awesome atmosphere, fun staff, and decent portion sizes.

Lacy Chaisson

Food has always been good BUT IT TAKES FOREVER TO COME OUT!!!!!! No idea what’s going on the place must be under new management because it never was that long of a wait before. It happened once so I went back 2 more times to see if it was just a bad day.... NO waited a hour to a hour and a half for our food! I might not going back there at all. So sad for quality food to have such poor restaurant service. And why are all the workers always sweating bullets?!

drake babineaux

The best Breakfast brunch I have ever had! # awsome

Christipher Ragsdale

Very nice place was hung over as Hell....Lol.

Robert Sanders

This is a great place for breakfast or lunch in downtown Lafayette. There are several must try places in this area, and this should be at the top of your list for breakfast. On the weekends there is always a wait to get a table, so be prepared, it is worth the wait. No matter what else you order, get the Cajun Poutine, it is a wonderful unique item.

Ryan Aktan

First off, the quality off food at this restaurant is near impeccable. That being said however, there are definitely things that need improvement. I’ve frequented The French Press fairly often and more often than not I’ve been happy overall with the service. Today I sat down at around 12:15, ordered around 12:25 and received my food at 1:55. Being completely honest, they were nearly fully occupied (one or two tables were vacant I believe). I still think that one hour and forty minutes is an insanely long amount of time to wait despite the amount of customers present. In that time period our waiter appeared once and then vanished into the ether. He did however drop by our table every two minutes like clockwork after the food had arrived. Tldr; The food is great and you usually don’t have to wait more than 20-30 minutes. IF, you do have to wait, you’re really out of luck...

Sneha Patel

Slow service and roux tasted a bit burnt. Waiter acknowledged that the food was coming out too slow for our table and provided us with two rounds of mimosas to make up for it

Jackie Wilson

First of all, food was awesome and well worth the wait. With that being said, I can not give "The French Press" a 5 star review due to the long wait time to be seated, the long time for our waitress to come to our table and the long wait for the food to arrive. During peak times, make sure you have about 1.5-2 hours for breakfast or lunch.

Jennifer Ercoli

Food was delicious but it took forever to come to us and it didnt seem busy so that was odd. Cute atmosphere too

Arlene Shi

We stopped by this place before we continue on for our road trip. There's limited street parking so we parked at the garage near by, which is not too far of a walk. The server took a while to get to us for seating. We ordered the Cajun breakfast and chicken & waffles. The cajun breakfast dish was extremely salty which I had three glasses of water for it. The chicken and waffle was covered in syrup, which literally taste so sweet that it was unbearable. I would never come back again for the food. Everything tastes way too much out of proportion in terms of taste.
