Sushi is excellent, but dont order tea or ramen. I ordered sushi and sake the first time I came here, it was excellent and fresh. Second time, I ordered ramen and tea, cause this is the only place in the area that I've heard about having fresh ramen. This was a huge mistake. The broth is not rich and is undersalted, the toppings are very frugal, the "seasoned egg" was not seasoned, nor medium boiled (as is standard in ramen) and the tea was about the weakest thing I've ever tasted. Looked into the teapot to find they only put one tea bag into a pot that requires at least 2 bags, maybe 3. I'll be back, but only for sushi.

Every visit here was great . I haven't had a bad dish yet. The prices are reasonable. The food is always delicious. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. We eat here about 2 times a month. Try the premium white miso.

Every meal I have here is fantastic. It's easily my mine and my wife's favorite restaurant in the area. The sushi is the best around, and the rolls are huge! There is a large selection of other menu item, all of which that I've tried have been delicious. The pork belly yakitori is to die for, and the deluxe cucumber roll is amazingly refreshing. I've yet to try the filet and lobster entree, as it's a bit pricey, but it's definitely on my to-do list! The servers are all very attentive, quick, and accurate. Highly recommend!

Nice atmosphere. We sat for 10min before being greeted by our server. After ordering, we received 1 meal. The other meal never came after 45 min. We tried to pay with cash and the manager was asking staff for change. The one meal we received was very good. Management seems asleep at the wheel. The mgr could be seen talking to one guest over and over. I know our server could use some help apologizing to guests.

I stopped by here on the way from New Orleans back to Houston. My fiancé suggested this place as she heard about it from a few of her friends, and since she needed a break on the road, we decided to have dinner here. Although the parking lot was packed, I found parking fairly easy. Walking in, the first thing I noticed was a huge beautiful Buddha statue bringing me a sense of peace while approaching the host stand. The ambiance of the restaurant put me in a state of awe as the interior was beautifully decorated and themed with eye to detail! The lighting was perfect, setting the mood of something you find in a fine dining setting. But the wait staff was dressed casual making me feel better that there wasn’t a dress code to adhere to. The wait was about 20 minutes on a busy Saturday night. No problem. We waited patiently for any open table and even to sit by the bar, but instead they informed us they found a table for us which we were quickly seated. The waitress came by as we perused the menu. I was astounded by how many dishes they had. I was excited. I didn’t even know where to start. I asked for a few suggestions in which she was very knowledgeable. I ordered the miso soup and a wide variety of Apps and tapas to share with my fiancé. I can honestly say, I was amazed at the execution of each dish presented. And the most shocking thing is, it was in Lafayette! The food is something you would find in a bigger city but Tao, is truly a local gem and marks high in my book against any city! Needless to say, food was amazing! Even their ponzu is the best I’ve ever tasted which accompanied the Hamachi. It was Umami!! The Asian fusion worked well, and the overall experience was delightful. I’m excited for another road trip in which I will stop by again to taste the rest of the menu!!!! Tao does not disappoint!

If your restaurant is that pricey, your food needs to be consistently good. It isn't. I was happy the first time, the second time was honestly pretty bad. That's $83 I will never get back. Too expensive for me to make that gamble again.

Got the garlic butter shrimp bento box -- protein portions were nice, the fried rice was just okay, and the ginger dressing on the salad was my favorite part.

I loved this place until I had a bad experience not one, but three times. Advertised a vegan option and was served fried rice with eggs. The concept is great, and the food is good, but the servers could do better at learning the menu and being aware of what they are doing.

Our dinning experience this time was quite awful. Our waitress was nice but she lacked experience. She wrote down my entree wrong, so they made me fried rice instead of Pat Thai but I decided to keep it anyway. But she also asked us "are you sure its wrong?", so that was the start of our disappointing date night right there. To add to that, we had ordered 2 sushi rolls and she never put it in. So after awhile, I ask about our sushi order and she ran off. And came back to asked me what was my order? So we waited awhile longer and got the sushi rolls; which came out rushed. The sushi rolls was small, empty and looked like it came from a buffet. And never once did our waitress apologize. Then she surprised us with a $2.00 discount on our bill! WOW. And the whole time, there was a young male manager & a female manager (or hostess) sitting there, chit chatting the night away. Never once did they checked on the customers or greeted people waiting at the door. Compared to the first time we dined there, things have gotten way worse. We love to dileave t & have a date night often, but bad service & food is our biggest pet peeve. My husband is old school, and he was pissed. And he didn't want to leave a tip at all, but I made him leave something.

Hostess was great she was the only one who asked me Apt my meal and told me to have a great day and come back. The food was great but I asked the waitress for a simple meal that I can eat there and not have leftovers, she offered me something with a lot of food but I didn't know that until I received my food. I had to go back to work so I ended up wasting food and money.

Went with a group and service seemed ok. Almost the entire group got different entries and everyone seemed pleased. Thursday nights (the night we went) ladies even get a mini appetizer for free as a ladies night special. I got the pad Thai which I feel in love with. Warning though if you order it spicy add the spices slowly. I found it very good, but everyone else who tried it complained it was too spicy.

I came to Tao for a little father/daughter lunch after recommendations from coworkers. There was a sparse lunch crowd because we were eating early. The service was prompt and our server was polite and helpful with menu details. The food was fantastic! We will definitely be back to Tao!

The aesthetic is on point and the food was delicious without being outrageously priced. The main compliment I have is for their wait staff, who were consistently pleasant without seeming fake. It really enhances the experience when it feels like the person taking your order is a genuinely cool person, and this restaurant has that going for it in spades. Will definitely visit again.

I was blown away by how beautiful the atmosphere and the environment was at Tao. The portion sizes for the entree were big and filling. Since it was a big menu, our server was very knowledgeable and helpful about the recommendations that was provided for me and my friends. The service was attentive and friendly. It was a busy night and the wait time was very reasonable because we didn't have to wait very long. I'll definitely be back. It was a very enjoyable dining experience. I always wanted to go and I wasn't disappointed!

I dine in with my girlfriend for the first time at Tao's & it was an amazing experience. Our waitress, Nancy is very helpful & knowledgeable with the menu. The cocktails were yummy! My girlfriend wouldn't stop talking about it. Their tapas and entrees were to die for. It was a great experience big thanks to our waitress because we did not know one thing about the Asian cuisine. My husband and I made reservations here for our 10th wedding anniversary. Jamal was our server and he explained the menu to us, made suggestions, and was very attentive. We ordered sushi and some hibachi meals. The food was so tasty! At the end our our meal, Jamal surprised us with a dessert to celebrate our anniversary. We felt so special and even though it was our first time there we were treated like regulars. We will be back!

My fiance and I recently stopped by Tao for a quick lunch. The appetizers were great; the Korean BBQ, and the grilled shrimp were very tasty. The Japanese sausage was a hot dog covered in BBQ sauce. Which was disappointing. That was the only let down, all of the other menu items we selected were delicious and the service was great.

This place is fast becoming one of my favorite Asian restaurants in Lafayette. The ramen got us hooked and as we've tried more of the menu, it's just made us love Tao more and more. The garlic soy ramen is absolutely amazing, so much so that even my picky little kid loves the stuff. The sushi is fresh and delicious, plus there is a variety of cultural dishes to pick from so you're party don't have to settle for one type of cuisine.

Good selection of noodles, soups and sushi. Appetizers are great as well! Best fried tofu I have had yet. We tried the Pad Thai which was a generous portion, excellently flavoured and very spicy (as requested). Sushi is also a good portion for the cost, and the fish is good quality; preferred it to other places I have tried in Lafayette. Atmosphere is good, staff are friendly and a beautiful interior. Sushi rolls are available wrapped in soy paper, if you do not like nori. Sake bombs are also available at the bar, which I will have to try next time. Highly recommend!

A bit pricey for what you get. I prefer more value for money and, therefore, will likely never buy into paying premium prices at a sushi shop simply because it's trendy. If that's your thing, then this is a good option on this end of town.

2nd time eating here. First time had a incredible vegetable soup bowl. This time sushi, philly and salmon roll. Sushi was ok. The rolls were smaller than many other places in Laf. Service, mediocre. Waitress brought my drink, left, took my order, left. Never came back to check on the food. Next time she came was to hand me the bill. Paid and left. Hostesses (2) didn't even say thank you or tell me bye. Not sure I'll dine in again. I'll get my sushi from places where I know the portions are bigger for the same price.

We walked in on a Sunday afternoon after a long shopping spree because we were really hungry. The restaurant felt nice and cozy. I liked the decor inside. It had a pretty modern feel to it. I liked the theme of using black and white. We got a table beside of a large window and loved the view. We ordered a chicken Stir Fried Udon which was very yummy to say the least!!! They needed to be reminded about the soup though, but the udon was very tasty and filling. Along with that, I ordered the Noodle Soup and that was a very large and filling bowl that I would highly recommend. Overall, a thumbs up.

We decided to try out Tao because a friend is a server there. As a former server I can be a bit picky. Anna blew it out the water. Yes, she is a friend, but she was on her game with our table and all of her others. The menu was extensive, and nothing we ordered was anything less than amazing. Can't wait to go back! Definitely a new date night spot!

I give this restaurant a 5 because it had a great feel to it and it was very authentic. I loved the sashimi, it was great. I also loved the decor. The kabobs were great and waiters are very quick.

Greeters and servers were friendly. Service was great. The Atmosphere was a bit gaudy, but maybe it was for NYE. I believe that it is the only restaurant in Lafayette that regularly offers Japanese style ramen. My party ordered each of their ramens. The noodles were good and the add-ins appropriate. The pork add-in was especially tasty. The broths' flavors were decent, but couldn't compete with the overpowering saltiness.
