Was surprised to find one left.

No no no ordered off menu after looking over buffet and finding food was way to old and dryed up. They filled our chicken fried steak order using the nasty buffet. Booth seating area I was In had giant holes in the seats at least 4 diffrent booths. Waitresses was very nice. Place was dead we were 1 of 2 tables in the whole restraint.

Brought back memories... we would always eat at the one in Lafayette when I was a kid but it closed down. The only reason I give it a 4 star is because there was not many options on the buffet. Nonetheless the staff was very helpful and nice because we went with 9 kids

This is the only shoneys left from Lake Charles to New Orleans. My kids love going there, the buffet is usually seafood and steak.. it's an awesome place friendly staff and a really family oriented place.

Awful. So many gnats on the fruit that it looked like someone poured black pepper on them. We stuck to the fried, hot food. But we should've just left. Now when we go out we look at the buffets before we pay.

Food is good depends on who's cooking, service could use so work, and the seating really needs to be upgraded. The booths have torn seat that look nasty and uninviting. Needs a face lift outside and inside.

Just recently moved nearby and have eaten here several times. It has been outstanding every time. Great service, great food. We usually come after Church on Sunday and the fried chicken and fries fish is great. So far it hasn't been very crowded.

This place had great food. The waitress was very attentive and friendly. Wife was surprised how much was available at the salad bar. Prices of the drinks seemed a little high but that might be because where I just lived coffee and juice is cheaper. The place is old, seats are like old bus seats that people put duct tape on. Since the food and service was so good we didn't care about the seats.

Food was good. I'm just waiting for Shoney's to fix or replace all their tearing seats. You almost tear your clothes on the torn seats. They didn't have enough waitresses for the amount of people they had, because we had to wave our waitress down to get drink refills.

Sh0ney's in Jennings, La. Is a good place to eat breakfast, lunch and supper. Food is good but the booths you sit in have holes and tape on the seats. Some or very uncomfortable to sit on. People or very friendly. I give them a 4Stars.

We opted for the buffet, as a late lunch while traveling on New Year's Day. Was very disappointed. The food was not hot....not even what I call warm. A lot of the items were empty or very low. The fish was not even appealing - it looked as if it had been out too long. As we were eating, the waitress came over to tell us that they were getting ready to swap out for the dinner buffet, so if we wanted any more food, we needed to get it then. That probably explains why they had not replenished food to keep it fresh and hot - but it would have been nice if they had let us know they were about to swap out for the dinner buffet - I probably would have opted to order off the menu instead. When checking out, I was honest and told the person (I think he may have been the manager) that I was disappointed in the buffet, and especially at the food being cold. He apologized, but offered no compensation. Since this is as area we were just passing thru on the interstate, the odds of us returning were slim to begin with. But after this experience, I can safely say, I would never eat here again. I had not eaten at a Shoney's in a long time. It was not at all how I remembered it to be.

Is this place a joke? The food is DISGUSTING. I couldn't finish my salad or my plate. The cups smell like cigarettes. They get one star and they only got that one because I havent gotten sick yet. But its only been 10 minutes since I left.

They are always friendly and accommodating- extra crispy bacon on request and delicious hot fresh pancakes! I smother mine in the chunky strawberry sauce loaded with real whipped cream. The fried chicken is really good along with their gravy. He salad bar is pretty good for lunch. I can’t complain.

Never made it to the food. The restroom was filthy, and had trouble getting the water to turn on. My wife said the same thing about the ladies room. Was seated at a booth, with the stuffing coming out. We changed booth, and at least you would think they could change out the duck tape that held it in. Also, half of there's lights were out on there sign. If they take that type of care of the restaurant, I would hate to see what the kitchen looked like.

Have not been to a Shoney's in yrs and it was great. Everything was great from the meat choices of sausage bacon and ham. Home fries biscuits gravy and sausage gravy. Great to get some eggs on line that were no soup or all dried out. Would have loved some Cornbeef hash but I didn't leave hungry. The 3 members that took care of that line Wednesday morning kept everything stocked fresh and full. They did a great job that helped keep all us diners very happy and full. My Aug 5th trip will definitely include stopping in for breakfast.

9/5/18--Went there for dinner buffet--Looking forward to it as good reviews I had read--(always loved Shoney's)--and we were staying at the Hampton--Anyways I missed something --One meat chicken-- along with bacon/turkey sausage --sides were minimum choices- buffets usually have several meats, lots of cooked vegies, more that one bread, not even cake, cookies or donuts for dessert, only jello, pudding etc. I normally don't leave bad reviews! It was Horrible!! Only thing good was the cooked vegies they had. I'm Sorry but I hate for anyone else to have their Southern Buffet!

I had the chicken fried steak meal. The meat wad hot, but the sides were not. My dining mates said that the bathroom was horrendous. All in all, my food was good and the service was excellent, so the experience was okay. I don't feel like I need to return, though.

Took my daughter there tonight for seafood and steak. Um, it was "ok". The shrimp were surprisingly pleasant, but the clam strips we're over done, the ribs had been left out a little too long and the Mac & cheese was just generic as hell. The steaks were acceptable to my taste, but nowhere near steakhouse quality and the service was attentive enough. Unfortunately we had also arrived late and were kinda rushed out towards the end so that they could break down the buffet, I was kinda disappointed that I didn't get to got up the dessert. Over all though, a solid ⭐⭐⭐

I would have given it a zero as the worst restaurant ever, but it was not an option. Never ate at one of these, never will again. It took over 30 min to get a chicken sandwich and coleslaw. The coleslaw had black mold on it...I was so repulsed by the look of the food, I paid, tipped, and left. The health department should reinspect, and consider shuttering the place till they clean up.

Amber, the waitress was a delight! The food was delicious except... my vegetables were black on the edges. It wasn't one or two pieces. At least half was should have been discarded BEFORE it was served. No, I didn't say anything at the time. Shame on me, but we were on a time schedule.

If you want fine dining, this isn't the place for you. This establishment has seen better days, the seating is held together with duct tape and the whole place is a bit scruffy. If you can see past this, the food is good, the staff are friendly and the prices are low, and the buffet is more than enough to feed the hungriest appetite. One of my favorite places.
