Delilah was a great server tonight, however I had their Crawfish Ettouffe, and even though I ate most of it because I was hungry, it made me have a very bad indigestion. The cost was really not the problem when I told the manager, yet she said that I looked fine. She is not a doctor nor myself to tell me how I felt. The only thing asked was not a price reduction, but to be heard. "I feel a very bad indigestion, and I was not treated with professional manners by the manager." The manager didn't apologize for the fact that the food was most likely uncooked, but because "I can't do a price reduction" when I didn't ask for one.

Where to start? Fried cheese was excellent. Two of our 6 orders came quickly, both chicken fried steaks. Salads were kinda rough looking. Once the two of us were about halfway through eating, we were told that our other 4 orders had gone missing and that they would be made again. Instead we got our food but it was cold. Like sat somewhere for 45 minutes cold. At this point it was just comical. Drinks were neglected or refills were wrong. Food was eventually remade and was ok. Sammy's used to be better. I hope a manager can find this useful and fix whatever issues they are having.

They one in Zachary is closed. The one on Wax Rd I called asked if they had boiled crawfish, they said yes, 5 min later they called me back and told me they would not be ready for another hour or so. So we eat some where else

Flies, flies, flies! So many both in the kitchen and the dinning room. I personally witnessed servers scooping flies out of the tarter, cocktail and ranch and then putting the sauces on customers plates. Maggots in the bottom of the trash cans. Never any soap or paper towels in the bathroom. And not one of their 7 managers ever comes to help deal with customer complaints. It needs to be shut down and completely redone.

We always order the fried eggplant appetizer because it is so tasty and big enough for two or three people. Also, Sammy's allows you to order the lunch sized entree at any time so that people with smaller appetites can have the amount they want, even during the evening hours. The fried or broiled seafood is always yummy. Service is always great & the servers anticipate your drink refill requests. On our latest trip to Sonny's we were lucky enough to find brisket nachos as an appetizer special. We had tried Sonny's brisket before and liked it so we ordered the nachos. When it arrived we found a platter of crispy, nicely seasoned chips with a generous amount of brisket slices & chunks. The brisket has a good smoky flavor and is not too dry or too fatty. This was topped with sliced jalapenos, cheese, and diced tomatoes and green onions. I'm not a big fan of peppers and removed them from my share but found that they left a pleasant jalapeno flavor without the burn. My husband lines peppers and was able to have a slice with every chip. The serving was generous for two and we almost didn't finish by the time the rest of our meal showed up. We chose grilled fish, and it was cooked well, lightly seasoned and always a dependable choice at Sammy's. Our server was attentive and made sure our drinks stayed full.

First time visiting this location. Our server was new and no one to shadow, had no working knowledge of the menu and no concept of timing. After being seated, we ordered immediately. After 45 minutes we got our food order, however the appetizer we ordered, never arrived. When we questioned the server about it, she says she must have forgotten to put it in. No refills until the manager came over to our table and asked, but at this point, we're almost done with dinner and over it. The restaurant was either understaffed or there was a disconnect in communication. We will continue to take our business to one of the other locations.

The wait was exceeding exceptional long. When we were seated it was a long time before a server came to the table. After drink orders were taken and finally received, the appetizers came on dirty plates. You could feel & see dried on food on the top and bottoms of the plates. These were taken back and new ones were served. It took an hour before our food was served and almost every dish was cold. We requested the food to be served as it was prepared so it wouldn't be cold when they tried to serve it to everyone at once.(party of 10) I guess simple requests are too complicated for some people to understand. The grilled fish was over cooked and cold. The burger was cold, hard and dried out with wilted Brown lettuce. The grease needed to be changed because most of the fried items we very dark. They do have good shrimp and corn soup. I thought my second experience would be better than my first where the waitress spilled a pitcher of water on my 1 1/2 year old nephew and several others in my group with no apology from her. She went to get napkins but never came back to the table. We had to ask for a manager to get the water cleaned up and he offered the apology for her. Really!!!!! I will not be returning for dine in services. If I'm in the area maybe I'll get some shrimp and corn soup for takeout.

Has drastically improved. Stopped going for years because of nasty food and bad service but they have made a change and for the better. Staff was very kind, manager checked on us several times. Food was really good and cooked well and hot. Had a custom drink from bar and was best iv had of that type. Dessert was amazing. All more i can say is if they keep this up I see a bright future so lets hope they stay on track. Also portions have increased in size since my last visit as well. Especially on gator and dessert.

This is the 4th meal we have order to go. Every time with its missing something, portions are much smaller than ordering in, its cold. Tonight my eggplant was burnt. Very few noodle but sent way too much sauce. The eggplant was cut so Rhône I never really tasted eggplant only burnt soggy crust and cheese, very disappointed again.

After years of enjoying Sammy’s I found that the service had started to drop off a little bit. I experienced poor service, cold food and just a overall lack in customer service. After speaking with a One of the general managers and voicing my concerns, Mr Fred assured me that he would address all of my concerns. I’ve since returned to find that Mr. Fred did listen and address all of my concerns. I’m happy to say that things are turning around for the better. I have to say that service has improved and my personal experience has also improved. Servers like Kerri, Lacy, Ashley and Breanna make it so much more enjoyable. Thanks

No Beer Here! Learned after passing the many advertisements and was seated, to only find out that they had lost their license. Bad form. On the other hand, I stayed and enjoyed the 5 lb order of boiled crawfish. Delicious. But without a nice cold beer. hmmmm. I am able to drink water with dinner. If you are like me, and your expectations being lifted and then crushed, makes it difficult to really rate very highly. what a shame.

Food was ok, well mine was, not everyone was happy with their food though. Worst part was how slow everything g was! It took us 20 minutes to get our drinks, and she didn't even bring my sons kids drink, and once we finally ordered, it took an hour and a half to get our food!!!! I have been in the service industry for a long time and if food is going to take that long you need to notify your customer! We didn't hear a single word from anyone! That is just unacceptable!

Horrible horrible!! This is the third attempt at the central location and I have given up on them. We went tonight (a Friday night) at 9pm after a family performance we were seated right away but that’s the only good that came from it. We ordered drinks and that got messed up, ordered our food and did not get our food until OVER an hour later, food was cold as if it had been sitting our waitress did not keep us updated while waiting nor did she keep our drinks filled. All but one person got their food and then they decided to tell us that their food went to the wrong table and that was the last of the wings they had so our family member had to wait even longer for more food. I will never return!!!

I've been eating here off and on for 10 years. The service and quality has had it's peaks and valleys, but as of late seems to have hit rock bottom. During our most recent visit, my wife ordered a fried shrimp poboy, my daughter ordered the fried crawfish tails with baked potatoe, sister in law ordered crawfish etouffee, and I ordered the prime rib poboy. My wife's poboy was ok, but she asked if we could swap the fries for macaroni and the waitress saild that is fine, but we noticed it was a dollar upcharge when we got the bill. When our full order came to the table, my daughter received fried catfish instead of the crawfish she ordered and didn't receive the correct plate until we were pretty much done eating. Sister in law's etouffee was mediocre at best. My prime rib poboy didn't come with aujus and the meat was slightly burnt. When i finally got my aujus, it must have been straight concentrate because it was way to salty to eat. The waitress never cleared any plates or drink cups throughout our entire meal, so our table was slam packed with dishes and made for an uncomfortable dinning experience. We were complaining about the aujus and conjestion at the table while the manager was bussing a table next to us and she offered us a bowl of gravy and walked off...lol. Needless to say, my 10 year run with this restaurant is probably over. Sorry Sammy's.

I LOVED this place when it opened. But I used to get a lot for what I paid for. Now the prices have spiked and portions have decreased. It was a nice place to go to get nicer food for not much more than fast food with a quaint setting. But now for what they charge you can pay a few extra bucks and go get Indian food which we all know is way more expensive. Example: I used to get 5 gisnt cheese sticks for like 6 something. Now it's 8 or so and you only get 4. Come on. It's cheese. Not steak. I also used to get the 5 chicken strips from the appetizer list with a fry for a meal. But you can't make a meal of it anymore. The tenders are more like nuggets, and I got 4 instead of 5 last time so idk if they slashed portions AGAIN or what.

The food quality was well below any that I have ever had at Sammy's over the past 12 or 13 years, even though I got what I generally order. The fried oysters were terrible. The fried shrimp were less than satisfactory. And, the stuffed potato which had only cheese, did not have the usual cheese. Very disappointing!!!

We ordered a whole shrimp poboy and a rib eye poboy. The shrimp poboy was the worst I've had. So kudos for that. The ribeye poboy was good. The shrimp were small and hard. I asked Cheyenne the waitress where they were from and she said "from the back " and walked off. So much for the new law. I assume they have a ditch back there cause that is how they tasted. The bread was huge and not toasted. There were 12 Ditch Shrimp. Definitely not going back. Used to go all the time but now I am reminded why I don't go anymore. Well Cheyenne you go get your tip out The Back.

Last night I went to a dinner party at sammy's in central. I did not enjoy the service my friends and family received. Either the waitress didn't take our orders correct or the kitchen couldn't follow the orders properly. The waitress was sweet at first, but I believe she became frustrated with the kitchen inability to get the orders correct and delivered on time. She took her frustrations out on my friend who hosted the gathering saying in front of everyone "she only got two hands". I think back and she was right because she was working our table of 10, a table of eight, and a couple of other tables. But that wasn't our fault being that we were paying customers and she got her 18% gratuity. We brought our complaints to the manager and he tried to fix it but with so.e of the party the dissatisfaction couldn't be fixed. I am a regular customer and I have hosted 2 parties at the restaurant in Zachary. You might want to check the morale of the employees there. I don't think there mission is to make sure ALL customers are satisfied

Up until yesterday Sammy’s Grill was our favorite restaurant in Central. We went there to celebrate my 11yr old birthday. We walked in and there were no more than 10 guests there which had me confused since it’s usually packed. Anyway customer service was excellent but the quality of the food was HORRIBLE!!!! I will no longer go there anymore. I had the Bayou Catfish which is my favorite dish there. I was totally disappointed as well as the Acadian Catfish meal my child ordered. The loaded potato was cold in addition to the cheese not melted. I don’t know what changed(cook, ingredients, etc) but I will not be back. I wasted my hard earned funds.

We visit yearly when we visit family. They said quality had gone down and didn't want to join us. We were very happy with the quality of the seafood augratin. Salad that comes with the meal has drastically improved! It seems like serving size decreased. Hope they return based on our feedback and hope this can help y'all improve, we love Sammy's!

Horrible as usual. Had given up for a while and then decided to try again. Got the vegetable plate with sweet potato fries, the blackened tuna with a potato, and the buffalo shrimp. The vegetables were literally just a pack of vegetable you would buy from Walmart that they popped in the microwave for maybe a minute. No seasonings at all, still hard. The sweet potato fries were mushy and gritty on the inside which I would think was them not even heating them all the way through to thaw them. $9.99 plus $1 for the fries for half a pack a vegetables and few fries. Ridiculous. The buffalo shrimp were so caked in buffalo sauce, you couldn’t even eat them with how hot they were. The potato was just put in the microwave and not for long enough as it was still rock hard on the inside. The only edible thing was the tuna and it was subpar at best. The only reason Sammy’s is still open is because of limited options in central. That won’t be the case in the years to come. It’s ridiculous the type of food they serve here. The place is ran by high school kids it seems. It’s just nothing like Sammy’s used to be.

We LOVE Sammy's Central location! Last night, we hosted two business dinners with a toal of 75 people. We were so pleased with the food and service. The staff went above and beyond expectations! From start to finish the event was flawless!!

I have never posted a review for a restaurant before, BUT we had a really horrible experience on Sunday night. Our waitress was AWFUL. She took forever to get our first set of drinks. We probably waited 30 minutes for our food to come out. When we finally got the food, it was barely lukewarm. My potato was so cold that the butter would not melt on it. The waitress was no where to be found. My husband had to go to the bar to get me another drink. We had not been to Sammy's in over a year because the food and service had been bad. We decided to give them another try. But Sunday was the worst ever. I am pretty sure we will not be going back to Sammy's in Central. And the only reason I gave them 1 star is because you cannot post a comment without rating at least 1 star. I really would like to give them a minus 1 star.

Excellent seafood, burgers and ribs. Grilled seafood as well as fried. Steamed veggies are outstanding. They are served with a baked potato topped with sour cream unless you ask them to hold it. It can be crowded.

Tip: do not order Sammy’s dessert as carry out. Ordered bread pudding this evening and it was cold, hard, and it’s the corner piece that was probably leftover from yesterday. Yum.... Typically not one to rant online but this just seemed necessary after several disappointing experiences at the Sammy’s Central location. Food quality & service has simply declined.

My husband and I have been to this restaurant several times over the last 5 years or so. Every single time, the experience is unsatisfactory. Tonight we gave it one last shot and we simply won't be back. The food has always been just mediocre. The service is never extraordinary and most of the time, severely disappointing. We feel bad for leaving such a review because honestly, the staff is very friendly and tries their best. The manager, Janine is lovely. But it seems that none of the staff is well-equipped for success, and to us, that trickles down from the very top. We honestly don't know how this restaurant is still open. We suggest Fratteli's Italian or Caliente across the street. Walk-On's in Juban Crossing is a bit further, but a MUCH better direct alternative to this style of food.

Pleasant as always. Crawfish poboy hit the spot. Also had fried eggplant which was really good, but I wish the ranch was a little bit thicker.
