REVIEWS OF Prejean's Restaurant IN Louisiana

CJ Vallier

Service was great! Seafood was delicious and with a live band couldn't ask for anything better! Perfect place to dine with your significant other!

T. Michelle Bailey

The food was good. My family and I decided to try something new on our way back to Houston. The service was good. They have a lot of items to choose from. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because some of our food was cold. The kids were excited about the moss look and fake alligator decoration. We went in on a Saturday and got seated really quickly.

Sheena Prez

Great food! The steak was delicious and cooked to perfection

Regina Traylor

Great food and Great atmosphere!! We had the catfish plate, redfish plate, shrimp plate, and shared bread pudding... All was delicious!

MM Sodich

Food was excellent and the live music was great! Fun evening! Definitely would come back here.

Kenneth Anderson

Have eaten here dozens of times, awesome food and staff that know how to make you feel at home.

John D'Antoni Jr.

Award winning cajun cuisine. Great service. Live Cajun music on Sundays.

kathy abbott

Awesome staff and the food was perfect

Marlene Scheafbauer

Okay but not the true taste of the area.. Can find and eat much better than this. Did not stay true to itself over the years.

Sarah Hermann

Omg the food is sooooo yummy

Alex

Always a wonderful experience at Prejean’s. From the decor with alligator and fish mounts to the moss oak trees, the creative cajun spirit really shows. The new menu still offers some of the classic dishes like crawfish enchiladas while adding some mouth watering additions.

Amy Pryor

The food was way to pricey. We didn't really eat much of it. Not much flavoring. We won't visit again. Waste of money.

Arlisha R

Amazing flavors to the dishes. Large portions of food. Great service.

Joe Wallace

Had the chkn and sausage gumbo, it was very good, just needed some more meat in the bowl overall was pretty good.

Deana Haas

Catfish is always great and the Crawfish Enchilada appetizer is to die for!!

Elizabeth Springfield

Legendary dining experience, not to be missed or quickly forgotten. WOW, super professional waiter, perfect, flavorful food, down to the detail. Come for local seafood flavor like no other. The atmosphere is comfy, welcoming and funky fresh too, without the chain feeling. They don't need my endorsement, but they earned it , so respect is due.

tracie kruse

Just finished another great meal at Prejean's. We've been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. My husband ordered the Prejeans seafood platter it has a little bit of everything on it. I ate the bacon wrapped stuffed shrimp and actually tried the rice dressing tonight as a side dish and it was delicious. Really cool place decorated in a "Swamp" theme with live zydeco music its a fun place to visit. Service is always great... shout out to Jess our waitress who told me to try the rice dressing and actually gave me her grandmothers recipe to try it on my own thanks Jess!;)

marla ellis

Best place I've ever eaten. We had breakfast. Not your typical breakfasts. But the best so far you have to try it. A little pricey though$$$

Cindi Jenkins

Food was good but sorely lacked on seasoning. We tried the fried seafood platter, good but no seasoning at all. Also, had the stuffed fish, very good. We also tried the stuffed mushrooms (good) & spicy fried shrimp(good but not hot enough to be considered spicy, and the crab & corn bisque (did not like it at all, we didn't even eat it after a bit or 2).

Scott Nina

April 27th Saturday at 3 p.m. not busy at all. I was seated and no server ever offered to take my drink order or food order. 10 minutes I waited. Servers walked back and forth in front of my table more than 20 times and no one said a word to me. I finally got up and told someone and I was given an apology but the bad service still was not rectified. I walked out and I will never return ever again. If you want me to believe your apology is sincere and you want me to visit a second time, then my meal and drinks will be on the house. Those are the terms!

Ken Kirby

Great atmosphere, attentive waitress, outstanding gator tail, parking for a travel trailer, and easy access to the highway. Great company made it that much better!

Joan Morrison-Malveaux

Disappointed with the food. It didn't live up to its reputation. Servers were very attentive.

Chris barnes

If you want a cajun experience take time to stop in. They even usually have a live cajun band! The food is great also!

Patty Hayes

Good service, great food!

Joel Broussard

Pretty good food. Just took an hour to get it as we showed up in between the lunch and dinner rush.

Corey Arbourgh

A definite must stop if your in the area. Never had a bad meal here. True cajun food!

Richard Anthony Perez

Over priced and over rated TRUST ME!! They feed you like your 12 yrs.old and still expect a tip.I guess everything is bigger and better in Texas..16oz. for $15.Not a good deal at all.Watered down gumbo and still get no bread with the short service.DO NOT be fooled by these other reviews people. You will diappointed and out money that isnt well spent. Will not ever visit these crooks again.

Catherine Carmouche

Meals were hurriedly brought to our table after being cooked under heatlamp x 15 min. I ordered chicken salad. Waitress brought me salad w/ no chicken, & told me chicken wasn't off the grill yet. Duck nor chicken gumbos were fresh. The gumbos were old or the roux was overcooked.

Robert Stutz

Really enjoyed my first visit here. I'm from out of town and was really impressed with the food and atmosphere. I would like to let Britney and Emily that they were great servers and made my visit even better

John and Maxine Hamilton

Food was great, live music was Cajon, server was top notch, and atmosphere was cajon. It was a fun night.

Collins LeBlanc

This place is disgusting. I'm giving 2 stars because of the service staff, but as for the food and the price, that's a zero. I've tried this place multiple times, just hoping it might have been an off day. It was a large table. The gumbo is horrible, almost non edible and the rib eye was just yuk.

MISTY Kimzey

My family and I from NW Texas and decided to take a trip to Louisiana, and stopped at a visitor center and this was HIGHLY recommend! It was so good and the atmosphere was great. Our waitress was so informative and everything she recommended was Great!

Janiece Lively

Music a little loud for conversation but otherwise outstanding.

J B

Great cajun food! Perfectly seasoned Crawfish Bisque.

Sina Amini

I was really excited and couldn't wait to try Prejean's. We ordered their chicken dish and hurricane shrimp. While the chicken was OK (nothing extravagant though), the hurricane shrimp was terrible. First, the dish was LOADED with sugar, probably as much as you would except in a dessert. Second, the pasta was very chewy and undercooked. To their credit, staff were extremely courteous. Our server realized we didn't eat the shrimp and took it off our check. Overall, I would rate this place as follows: Food 2 Stars Staff 5 Stars.

Karen Gardner

Amazing food! Fast, friendly service. Best gumbo I've ever had (duck and andouille) a bit out of the way if you're traveling from New Orleans to Houston, but worth the detour.

Ricky Truong

Had the chef salad with fried oysters, pretty tasty. Server was very accommodating when they were out of a dish that was ordered.

Tru Walker

The food was spectacular! The decor made you feel like you were sitting under Cypress trees outdoors, minus the mosquitos. The only change is make, as the business owner, is to make sure my staff is cleaning the restroom regularly. Otherwise, great place to dine!

Rainalda Ebarb

One of the best cajun restaurants in Louisiana. Love it!

Demetrius Johnson

The food here is very nice, and the waitress and cooks here do a really good job.

Jessica Crutti

Not as good as it used to be. The seafood gumbo is still good & full of seafood but too spicy. The corn & crab bisque is very thick, buttery and spicy, but not overly so. The fried green tomatoes were not good, came smothered in a crawfish and shrimp sauce that was surprisingly tasteless. Crabcake had big chunks of crab but sauce was too hot.

Kyle Bouchillon

You can't go to Louisiana without a bowl of Prejean's Gumbo! Great atmosphere and even better food!

Werner Schauer

Excellent food with a higher price level.

Becca Broughton

Food and service absolutely amazing, bathrooms were FILTHY!!!

Brian Thibodeaux

The Gumbo is out standing. The egg plant dish was delicious. Cain took great care of me, great sevice.

Katie Broussard

Had some friends visiting from North Louisiana and they wanted true Cajun food. The food was great, our server was very friendly and helpful with the menu and the local beer selections. The live music just made the experience even better! Thanks!

SunRae Mouton

The service was great but grilled vegetables were previously frozen & soggy esp. Carrots, grilled chicken did not taste grilled but pan fried & it was tough. Grilled fish was good. They are better at fried foods NOT healthy choices.

Darrin Goodman

Our regular stop when we go through Louisiana, Cajun at it's best, but we miss that there is no longer Crawfish Bisque on the menu

Debbie Hoornstra

Bloody Mary and crab cakes with shrimp for breakfast while on vacation. I wish we had this restaurant in Missouri. One of my favorite breakfasts of my life. That is the truth!

megan white

Great atmosphere! Food was great. Our waiter was new, but his kindness and enthusiasm was amazing.

Hunter Breaux

First time going and definitely not impressed!! Appitizer ordered was the stuffed mushrooms, which the stuffing was good, but the mushrooms were no bigger then the size of a quarter. I ordered the seafood platter which cost $30. Not enough food for the price. Catfish tasted like there was a bloodline in each bite. Had a nice golden brown crust but greasy and no crisp to it. Fried oysters were cooked on the outside and raw on the inside. Ordered a salad which came after I had received the check.

Elena Bright

One of the best places to eat. It's good comfort food in my opinion.

Pati Gulat

This is, HAND'S DOWN, my FAVORITE seafood restaurant. Great service, great food & great ambience. I love everything about Prejean's.

Linda Myers

Ordered gumbo to go but when I got home I didn't have any potato salad. I ordered gumbo before and had potato salad. Not consistent. Not good.

Mike Trantham

Service was great. Loved our server, but the food has gone downhill. Redfish was rubbery and overcooked. It wasn’t crowded in the restaurant and food came out cold. No excuse. Baked potato was cold and hard. So sad that this place used to be good. Now overpriced and what a waste of $70 for 2 people. Do not order the grilled vegetables. Tasted like rubber, maybe frozen, not sure. Beware. This place is on death row.

Ronnie Rhodes

My first time eating at Prejean's, fried green tomato appetizer was so original and delicious. Best stuffed crab I have ever eaten. Wish I lived closer.

kathy james

Went eat with the hubby for out anniversary! The food was alright, but what was even better was our service from our server, John! He was great, always had a smile, and was on top of our table including the other tables he was tending too! We will definitely be back and requesting John for sure!

Marlene Beagle

Yall were out of everything we ordered, twice! Are yall fixing to close??

Monica Minnitt

Love it so much we come back once a year (we live in Hawaii)!

Chad Barta

Awesome food! Live bands, great staff

Karen Gentry

I ordered the fish platter and husband ordered seafood platter with a side order of okra. I expected slabs of fried filet ( I asked in advance to make sure)but what they brought was a plate with fish that was skinny strips about as big around as my pinky finger if they were all put together it might equal one half of a fish, It was not even crunchy. The okra was barely fried and greasy. French fries were the only thing that was good. The seafood platter was as disappointing as well, however my husband did say the stuffed crab was great. After a pricey $65.17 we left hungry and was very disappointed. We have been here before but it was a long time ago. The service has definitely went down hill.

Jenryll Gattington

Prejean's is delicious I stop at least once a year and pick up gumbo cuz it's that good. The gumbo is Smokey and spicy. Po boys come in thick crispy flaky French bread there at two Faye is on point. The atmosphere is amazing there's a live band stand with zydeco music that looks like it came straight from the French quarter. Did I mention they sell gumbo in tubs to go? Best soul food west of the Mississippi.

Dj Ostergaard

Tried a few dishes, it had really good gumbo but this place says it is a cajun restaurant and nothing seemed spicy at all..

Mark Copenhaver

We travel in the winter down to Louisiana to both escape the cold but to also enjoy the incredible seafood. And Prejean doesn't disappoint ever when we come through here. But we also come for the music which is great local (I presume) cajun. My wife enjoyed the blackened trout and had the wonderful crab cakes. Service was good and friendly... We will return!

Alex Farmer

DO NOT EAT HERE!!!! They serve old/rotting steaks and seafood!!!! They also have unsafe work environments for their employees. Do not support prejeans.

PALE R1DER

Excellent food and service

Sally Greathouse

Nice music, menu seemed a little dated but it's been there forever so that's to be expected. Needs a dance floor

Dave Baumoehl

The food was good. A little pricey. The a/c wasn't turned up and the ceiling fans weren't adiquate. Was a little warm.

Crystal DeMoura

Standard Cajun fare, wonderful atmosphere. Friendly wait staff. Restroom needed attention, though.

Rob Babcock

Absolutely love this place. I eat here everytime I'm in the area. This is a must eat at place. The food is amazing

Kyle Young

The food is really good, though it does take time and the service is hit or miss. Great bite if time is not of the essence.

Shirley Fielder-Jacobs

Family style restaurant, redfish stuffed with seafood dressing and etouffee was great. The seafood gumbo was too salty and had a spice I'm not sure about. At least the waitress was nice and the music was authentic. A bit $$$$

Kim Vidrine

Service: Brought out wrong gumbo, sent back, brought out salad with grilled shrimp and sent back because of no shrimp. At the time that we ordered it was early and we were the second of two tables occupied so it wasn't like it was busy. My grilled shrimp tasted like they had been frozen then over cooked and tough. The lettuce had mostly the white iceberg. My husband's fried shrimp he said they tasted like they had been bleached then fried. We have been going here since 98' and the past few years the prices have gone up and the quality down. This is our last visit.

Gena Saucier

Good food and great music

mike walters

It's no wonder this place has been on TV. From the moment you walk in you know its going to be good. We went with a large group including kids and no on went home still hungry or unhappy. Great food, great service and love the live band. Also the frozen food you can buy is really good as well. Just follow the directions.

Ryan Murphy

Food is subpar, barely edible at best, it's not what Cajun gumbo tastes like, neither the duck nor the chicken n sausage gumbo were desirable, other dishes looked fine, stuffed seafood mushrooms were unappealing, they're better at redlobster

Betty Johnson

Food just okay tonight my date enjoyed gumbo

Miki Badders

For the first time in 15 years I was very disappointed in Prejeans. Hostesses and some waiters/waitresses need customer service training. The changes in some of the "favorite" menu items was a huge let down. Please bring back the tuna Rockefeller. On the plus side, the stuffed mushroom caps are still as good as ever and the atmosphere (love the live cajun entertainment) doesn't disappoint.

Clandestine Events & Experiences

Soooo tasty. A welcome treat for our drive from New Orleans to Austin. Prejeans is one of the food vendors at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, where their crawfish enchiladas are quite the hit. An in person visit to their restaurant did not disappoint. The service was great and the gumbo had the thick dark roux that we love. The enchiladas are as good as it gets; and their crab cakes were are sleeper hit as well. All in all, it’s worth the diversion off the main highway for a quick bite at Prejeans.

CJ Allen

Lester was a great waiter, very friendly and very professional. Be still tell you what is the best choice if you can't make up your mind. I had the gumbo and it was delicious

Rhina Diaz

Food is extremely good. Green fried tomatoes are spectacular with the "magic" sauce in top.... Alligator nuggets and frog legs are a precious bite for beginners And gumbo!!! Chicken and sausage is tastier than the seafood one but both are very good.

Susan Lepine

Terrible! Three years age fantastic. Now skimping on quality means awful result. Never again.

Cliff Jones

Server did not want to serve my wife. Did not serve baby and wife first as I would think is customary. Food was over priced and very slow to come out of kitchen . Then when leaving wasthe server was flat rude pointing and laughing at my wife. This was my first and will be my last time at this place. If my family is not accepted and welcomed as as customer service priority then you Don't deserve my hard earned $$.

Larry D Franklin

Tried something new.Fried green tomatoes and potato pecan pie a d alligator all very good.

Luther Worley

Wow! Some of the best food I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Highly recommend the fried green tomatoes and kick-in shrimp as an appetizer.

Karen Cormier

Good food, good atmosphere, a Louisiana institution. I enjoyed my dinner, but wouldn't make it a point to come back next time I'm in town.

Amitria Barron

Great place, delicious food that's well worth the price. The crawfish nachos are so good. And the staff are very friendly. This is a country family friendly restaurant that I visit every few months when visiting Lafayette. I look forward to returning!

Christina Parker

Amazing atmosphere and excellent food!!!

Robert simon

Horrible experience. Haven't been here in a while only to find out everything has changed, food, prices, menu, chef, ownership. Place was not that full like it usually is. That should've thrown up a red flag. Not what it used to be. Couldn't finish my meal it was so bad. No seasoning at all and recipes have changed. Chef looks likes he's 18 so he has no experience what so ever. And if you leave a negative comment on their Facebook page, they delete it. I imagine if they could do that on here they would. Why change what worked for over 70 years?

Clay Weeks

I stop here whenever I go through Lafayette. In the last 14 years, I have yet to have a meal here that wasn't excellent. The Duck & Andouille Gumbo and Croc de Jaques are some of my favorites.

Timmy Smith

Good food great service.

Chris P

Great food and the Cajun band is a plus!

Levi Ervin

The food was amazing, impeccable service. Top shelf for sure

Malina Knowlton

Fast and friendly service..whole family shared the big seafood platter and kids loved trying gatter nuggets and frog legs for the first time..waitress was super friendly and checked on us often..nice whimsical decor..

David Scott

This food is as good as it gets. If you go near Lafayette, you owe it to yourself to stop in and taste the wonderful Cajun cuisine at Prejean’s.

Cliff Lee

Ms.Hunter answered all our questions for our first time visit. Food was great, in a relaxed atmosphere and a very cool surroundings. Will definitely recommend to friends.

Tina C62

Have always made a stop to eat here, but the prices have gotten ridiculous, and the service is slow. Still love their fried green tomatoes, but will stop somewhere a little more wallet friendly, from now on.

Shawn Da Goat

I did not find the food to be anywhere near as good as in the past but the service was absolutely exceptional. We had a party of 35 and our two waitresses were phenomenal. Well until they grabbed someone else in my party to say I didn't pay my bill.

Lisa Andrews

Ashley, our server was excellent! Our food was fantastic. We really enjoyed the Cajun music!

Estephania LeBaron

I was not too thrilled with this place. My husband and I were just driving through from Texas and wanted to get Cajun food. I didn’t care for the food much. I thought the prices were a little too high. o

Roberta Poole

Food was cold when it came out and will not eat there again. Not a great time for birthday

David Vice

Great food, great service.

Frances Hyman

This was such a great experience for our students. We visited for the National Jr. Beta Competition that's held in Lafayette every year, and the service was outstanding. Our waitress was on point and was really helpful when dealing with our tax exempts forms, etc. The food was also fantastic. It was well seasoned but wasn't overly salty. The bowls are massive so if you don't want to take any of the soups home get a cup.

Robert Hernandez

Wonderful appetizers that would have sufficed but I had to try the entrees too. We fell totally in love with the Fried Green Tomatoes and the crocs tails. TO DIE FOR!! THE etouffee was delicious but a little salty. My friends had the Sassafras Shrimp which were good but again a bit salty. Overall a wonderful meal with great service. I highly recommend!!

Charles Sherrill

Been coming here for years. All the sudden within the last year the menu changed, food changed, and prices went up. Drove 8 hour round trip to eat here and was severly dissapointed. I'm not sure what happened or who had the bright idea to start changing stuff but GET RID OF THEM NOW! It's only a matter of time before you go out of business and then ask your self why. Well, I'm telling you why! Prices suck. Menu sucks, food sucks. If it's not broke, DON'T FIX IT!

Dawn Billiot

Food was sweet, chips was over fried dip nothing we had was worth price

Deborah Guidry

The chicken and sausage gumbo is the best thing I have ever tasted, except maybe for the cochon slapped poulet. The music was fresh and entertaining. Take the risk and try something new; it's worth it at Prejean's.

Aleksei Burnashev

The live band playing in the restaurant is unexpected, adding French charm to the place, however food was not great, few items from the menu we selected were not available, with few hiccups in service, like the need to remind to bring beer 3 times, otherwise just one of the cajun places. not bad, but nothing special.

Pete Miller

You would be missing the coolest place if you never went here! Need I say more!

Not Applicable

When I try new restaurants due to traveling for work, I do a few things. First I ask local people where the best food is. They always know. Prejeans was highly praised. Second I never look at the menu. I ask the wait staff what the best dish is, regardless of price. This never fails me and yesterday Prejeans was top notch! Had a crayfish enchilada and seafood platter. The food was so good I didn’t want to eat it. Because after I eat it it’s all gone, and I couldn’t deal with that. But seriously I did finish it and every bite taste of pure Cajun perfection. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. I’ll be returning today for more!

Select Building Controls

We ate breakfast here about 6 months ago, They wasn't busy. Service was the worst possible. I figured we would try again today. there was only 3 customers. No one waited on us for 45 min. It took another 50 min to cook eggs. Food was fair but not the greatest. We are done with this place. I dont recommend for breakfast at all. Not the same as the past.We will never return

Byron Mcdanlel

Big ripoff. Food and service were far below expectations, even for a meal that would cost half as much. Captain D's is even better.

MICHAEL ALFORD

Cool Cajun place Great food

Sharon Hawk

I remember the crab cakes being wonderful but today it was extremely spicy and did not care for the red sauce it was sitting on. I don't say this against the restaurant but just FYI. Other than that it was good as usual.

Cat Doucet

If you're ever near Lafayette Louisiana you have to eat at this restaurant. The food was fantastic and a relaxing atmosphere. There is a live band every night staying at 7pm playing Cajun music. This experience is a must for all ages. Great family restaurant.

Doug Tomich

must go if you are passing through; love the ambience and food; frog legs and gator app was great

barbie Johnson

Food was amazing. Perfect for date night

Karathy Bean

This is one of my favorite places to eat! It can be either for breakfast, lunch, or dinner I'm there! For breakfast I recomend the Breaux Bridge Benedict, Prejean's Napoleon, or a big bowl of their grits. This is the first place I have ever been to where I don't have to put anything in the grits; they rock! The alligator cheesecake is a wonderful appetizer, and the green goddess salad is delicious too. So far there isn't anything I don't like on their menu. They also have live entertainment.

Marcella Calvo

We just had an awesome lunch at Prejean’s. My husband had eaten here on a previous work trip 18 years ago. He had told me it was fantastic food and he wasn’t kidding. Loved the live music and our Waiter was super friendly and attentive. We live in Texas and wish you would open a location in the Houston area so it would be closer to us. A little on the pricey side, esp for lunch, but will definitely be back.

MyLove Daily

Award winning gumbo for a reason. It was delicious.

Travis Leleux

Good food. Friendly staff. The live band was abit loud.

Karla Sullivan

Always great food. Best gumbo around. Owner and staff very friendly.

Md. Imrul Reza Shishir

Finally got the chances to have Louisiana authentic food! Seafood gumbo

Logan Bob

Always excellent food. Gotta try the crab and corn bisque and the frog legs. All the gumbos are good. Just wish they would serve correct fillet size portions on the fried catfish instead of scrappy looking pieces.

Cynthia Garza

Disappointed that the menu changed and now 1 crawfish enchilada is a $10 appetizer or 1 comes with a steak...no sides

Helen Bedd

Excellent staff! Manager was great to find 2 seats in packed place on Friday night. We received food very fast!!!

Aaa di

Quite tasty food although overpriced. If you have high blood pressure be ware! The food is spicy and salty.

Gabrielle Breaux

Took them 30 minutes to take our order and the food was cold when we got it. Never got a refill on my drink. For a $28 entree, i thought I would have better service. Will not be returning.

Cindy Bennett

Had the catfish and there was no seasoning. The shrimp and grits were really good so I gave it 3 stars. We had to wait a long time for the food and for even drinks. They weren't very busy when we got there.

Sean impledob

Great seafood, a little bit pricey though. It would be great if they added some cheaper Poboy's to the menu.

bnkb1100

We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. The food was very good. However, the service was very slow. We constantly had to look for the waitress to refill drinks. I also found it was pricey, but overall the food was pretty good so I'm going with 4 stars.

Sandra Mijares

Second time at Prejean's. Their gator is just delicious. The live music is great. I had the Carencro Kicking Shrimp and Croc de Jacques. If you come close to Lafayette, you have to stop at Prejean's.

Mitchell Salas

Seafood gumbo!!!! Man we visited a week ago from Dallas, while we were on a Louisiana fishing trip. Some family told us to stop by. I'm really needing some more of that gumbo! We have 3 small kids and originally told it was a 30 min wait but a really friendly waitress said she has kids and she was gonna find us a place to sit, and she did. So we sat right down. Can't wait to visit again!

Andrew Macias

Great food great service.Big portions, pricey but.quality of food is worth it.

Carolyn Ebert

Great service by Katlyn ! The crab & corn bisque was delicious. However, my husbands stuffed redfish was undercooked. Enjoyed the Cajun Music too !

Julie Powers

The food was fabulous!!! Our waiter Lester, took such good care of us!!! We are traveling and he went above and beyond by filling our travel mugs with tea and giving us ice for our cooler! The restaurant is adorable!!!

William Murry

Supposed to have the best gumbo there is but burnt the roux

Chris Schmitzer

The redfish is excellent. The peanutbutter mousse pie amazing! The atmosphere was great! I would have given 5 stars but the service was sub-par.

sambo722rt

First time eating here for breakfast. Service I thought was a little slow for being pretty much empty which prevents me from giving five stars. The waitress was very friendly and catered to all our request. Food was really good and big portions for the price. Everyone ordered something different and there were no complaints from anyone. I had the shrimp and grits which was very good. I could only eat half because of the portion size. Stars were lost because of how filthy the men's restroom was. We were eating at the location for breakfast so it was very obvious that the mens's restroom was not cleaned the night before. The amount of filth would indicate that it was not cleaned for days. Very disturbing for a restaurant of this caliber.

Joel Kennedy

Large portions. Fried shrimp was very good. Gumbo was disappointing.

Annika Segelhorst

Our meal was so delicious and our server Joe was so kind and personable. This was the best food I've had in a very long time!

Dina Moreau

As always food and service was excellent, always a favorite place to dine when we are in Lafayette.

Catherine

Not the meal quality I remember, service staff not as prompt or organized, kitchen slow. Entree served, no side. Entree (tuna) tasted bad and was cooked far beyond medium rare. Returned tuna, ordered fried shrimp. Meanwhile, side was served (baked potato) before shrimp were served. Coffee was burned, sat on warmer too long. Probably won't be back, even though server did try to make amends.

Cynthia Steininger

Very nice people

Melanie Pugh

Took forever to get our food and it really wasn't all that great. Our waiter was great though.

Brekins Eyinmosan

Good Life band , old Lusitania music, good food

Craig K

Unfortunately, we had a really bad experience here with the server. The food was not that great, either. Etoufee seemed microwaved, and the steak was half-fat. Given the above, Prejean's struck me as a tourist trap when there are so many other great places to eat in Lafayette. Don't be lulled in like we were. Go to the many other great restaurants throughout the area.

Natalie Fitzgerald

The food was amazing. I would stop and eat here again next time we drive through Louisiana.

Lawrence Willis

Best meal I have ever had at Prejean's and I have eaten there for over 30 years! The stuffed redfish was awesome!!!!

quenetta arceneaux-flugence

Best Gumbo in town! Music is way to loud, I had to shout just to talk.

Arrie Noneya

I don't know what the rave is all about, this place is basic at nest and not as clean as i was expecting. The bathrooms were nasty and the dining area needed lots of tlc. The food was basic and not as flavorful as others claims in past reviews. Decor was nicely done but i feel like it was missing something. People were nice but the gift shop was nothing to write home about. I left there mildly disappointed.

Laura Boquet

I was so disappointed! I had gone there a year ago and it was fabulous. I went yesterday with family and friends a large group for lunch. we saw online a lunch menu but when time to order they said they don’e away with it. Which made the lunch very expensive. I would say the food was very Disappointing for the price. It just wasn’t the authentic Cajun food I was used to over there. Maybe they need new management we try to make a reservation and was put to an answering machine which no one ever called us back.

The only thing I dont like is being given my bill before I ask for it. I thought I was going to get red beans and rice, but was told they dont have it

Good Cajun food, authentic experience. Lots of fried food made me feel ill afterwards but really that's my fault. Some members of my party were complaining that the food was too salty. I tend to agree. I don't recommend the gumbo. The gator was perfectly cooked. I don't like Cajun music but one person who i was with was in love. Overall great place for a good Louisiana experience

Super good. Got the tuna Rockefeller. Was cold tho,, and it was late afternoon, not rush time.

Jessica Badeaux

Everything was cooked simply and just right. The waitress Jessica was super helpful and upbeat. First time coming home from Texas in years and I think I will have to eat here when I come visit from now on. Little taste of home that's surprisingly hard to find.

You can’t beat great food and friendly service and that’s what you get here. I only wish we could visit here more!

The food was pretty good and service was good enjoy the place I brought my daughter there for the first time

Gumbo was awesome. Crab cakes where very good too. 4 stars only because they where out of several dishes.

Waitress was excellent, she was prompt, friendly, anything we needed she supplied. When we had a problem with something, she rectified the problem with a smile. It was an excellent experience. The food was excellent as well. Portion size was good. The only issue was the drink specials were a little weak when it comes to alcohol. Not enough to change my opinion from a five. We were a large party and we had a wonderful time.

Their bisque was too powerful for me but then again I'm not from around there. Their gumbo was good and their salads were awesomely huge.

Great service, excellent food. Every time we go to Prejean's we're never disappointed. The food and atmosphere represents Louisiana extremely well!

The Party's Here!

My husband and I were so excited to come here for our anniversary...needless to say we left feeling disappointed and cheated out of 100 dollars. Not only was the food not up to par with the prices, but the service was soooo freaking slow. I got the corn and crab bisque as a starter and it set my expectations pretty high for the rest of the food....that was the only thing that's anything worth mentioning. My husband got the seafood platter and not only was the food unseasoned, but it was also very overcooked, nearly burnt. I would expect a restaurant of this caliber to be on par worth something as simple as frying but I guess not. I can't even remember what I got, that's how unimpressed I was. My husband literally waited 30 minutes for a refill the server initiated. She wasn't a bar server, just everything she did was slow. It's not like it was busy, it was only us and 2 other small families in the whole restaurant. I definitely won't be back unless it's to order the corn and crab bisque, again...sooo good!
