I went there with my family on a Saturday night. The service was good. The food was horrible. Not only was the food cold but my family got sick. Out of the 5 of us 3 of us had food poising. The 3 that had the vanilla ice cream became sick a few hours later. We thought it was a virus but after an emergency room visit we found out it was food poisoning. Eat there with caution!!!

This was our first time visiting Oriental Pearl. Many of our co-workers have eaten there several times. I found the sushi to be quite adequate and tasty. The buffet was nice. An excellent value for the money! The service was friendly, attentive without being bothering, and efficient in taking orders and bringing drinks.

Always a good buffet. don't get it to go though, dine in because they are strangely picky about the amount of food you cram in your box for take out even charging you extra if you put too much. Never had that happen anywhere else. They charged me for an extra entrée. I almost told them to keep it but my Mandarin was not that good. The food of good enough that I paid it and enjoyed it but resolved to never do take out there again. Either I eat it there or go elsewhere.

I’ve been going to Oriental Pearl for many years. It’s also sort of become a Christmas tradition for my family and I to go after church on Christmas Day. This year (2017) was no exception. About 2 minutes into sitting down with our first plate, my daughter bit into her sweet and sour chicken to find a piece of plastic wrapper cooked into it. Not on the outside but cooked inside. It was like a toothpick wrapper as best as I can decribe it. I called over the waitress to show her then told her we we were leaving and walked out. She seemed disinterested and simply showed it to the teenager working at the register while speaking in Mandarin. Who knows what they were saying. Nonetheless, this is the last time I will go there. Baton Rouge has such weak Chinese restaurants and unfortunately we now have to add Oriental Pearl to the “never again” list.

Oriental Pearl is a good tasting Chinese buffet. I deducted one star because the entire restaurant floor was sticky. I could hear my shoes sticking to the floor as I walked, which very off putting.

It's an okay place to have some alone time with You, Yourself, and the Inner You while dining. Not expensive. However, I guess its a certain time to show to get the food hot. Some of the selections were kinda room temp lol... #Cold.. They can use some new Dining booths although the music was peaceful

The food is always hot and fresh. Regulars and new comers alike are greeted the same and treated the same. The fried shrimp on the buffet are the best Chinese shrimp in town, hence why we go to this particular establishment the most. We love the hot and sour soup, too. They also have a frequent buyers card on the back of their business cards. For every 9 meals you purchase, you get a tenth one free. I can't recommend them enough. Fair prices, copious amounts of chinese food, sushi and deserts.

The food was good also liked the Sushi area. The owners were very friendly and attentive. I liked the fried rice, shrimp garlic with vegetables and peppered chicken. Egg drop soup was good not overly salty.

After eating there I have to say it’s the worst experience I’ve ever had! The owner walks around and monitors how much food you eat, even though it’s a buffet. Not to mention she constantly makes remarks about how much food you eat. To my surprise she always gets mad when you don’t eat everything on your plate. Please don’t waste your time or money here, there are many more sanitary places to eat in Baton Rouge than this. As a owner she is the most rude, unprofessional and disrespectful person I’ve ever encountered.

Recently oriental pearl on Sherwood has been consistently better than Hunan, which is across the street. The best time is always after the first wave of diners have devoured the first batch of food, and the food is then replenished. I don't know if they are called vermicelli noodles, but the white noodles were excellent. The sesame chicken was very good. The chicken on a stick was very good. The dim sum or pot stickers were good and had a pineapple soy dipping sauce to accompany it. The hot and sour soup was good. The garlic shrimp were excellent. The beef as well as chicken dishes were good. The salt and pepper shrimp were good. The fried rice was a C. It could have used a little something. The presentation and freshness was there but it was missing that aromatic vibe that classic fried rice usually has. I don't like mayo sauce on my sushi, so I did not try any. I consistently go to this location. The service is always great. The owner is always friendly, and the whole crew works hard. I will go back. Check them out when you are in the area.

Quiet, little Chinese place in the middle of a shopping center. The staff is very friendly, and the food is very good. Somewhat of a limited buffet, but still a good selection. I also have a punch card that earns you a free buffet after a certain number of paid visits. Nice place to visit when you're craving Chinese food!

I liked this place. It's not very big but comfortable. The staff was super friendly. The food was also very good. Things I didn't like about it were, the seats on the booths could use some updating. The worn out seats does give the place a not so favorable atmosphere if you will. The next thing is the amount of food selection on the buffet. Although the food is tasty there's not much to choose from compared to other places. The last complaint is the price of the buffet. The price of the buffet versus the amount of food to select from. I've paid that price at most other places, but have 3x the amount to choose from. Overall experience was great and I will good back.

This is a nice little place for a quick bite. The buffet had most of your standard Chinese favorites. There is a "sushi" buffet also. All the items are rolls and seem to be made there fresh. The owners are super nice and so is the wait staff.
